math & a library disaster

Spring is on its way and giving me at least a bit of my energy back. I’m still feeling poorly both physically and mentally but at least got something done this weekend. Math exam is on Wednesday so I’ll spend the entirety of tomorrow afternoon studying. Other than that the entire library system crashed today. Woho. We’re hoping for it to be up and running again until Thursday, maybe even without too much damage done. Right now it looks like we’ll have to create a whole new catalogue of all books + accounts. At least there’s a paper-version backup of all book codes. We just don’t know which books are actually in the library and which are not…

An actor so in tune with her character, so utterly assured in her performance, that she can distill something that raw and shattering into perfection almost instantly.

She is simply built different. No, but for real, because how dare she be that good? Eve could act against a brick wall and still outshine half the industry.

soft days off with binah. they're rare, but it means you can lounge in bed with her for much longer. it is very nice. bonus points if you're not a morning person

Binah naturally wakes early. a remnant of her Arbiter days, perhaps. even today when there is no work to be done, she wakes a few minutes after the sun shines through her curtains. it is not the light that wakes her, but your presence, your warmth against her side. her hand raises, idly beginning to stroke over your hair as Binah waits for the last vestiges of sleep to ebb from her consciousness. and today, that doesn't mean she has to get up. instead she gets to stay. stay with you, absorbing your presence and comfort. she shifts, tugging you a bit closer until your head is against her shoulder. in sleep you look peaceful and content. Binah only wishes she could make it so that expression was with you all the time

she hums as you begin to stir, coaxing you towards wakefulness with small kisses and murmurs. you're still drowsy, eyes heavy and limbs barely functional, yet you still have the strength to kiss her cheek, burying your face in her collarbone. I find little Machete being happy over bread baking to be so endearing, especially because I can imagine a world in which helping with baking was one of the few childhood joys he had (due to the lack of art of him happy as a pup), and then remembering the art you did months back of modern Machete making a souffle, I can see reincarnated Machete being drawn towards baking in his free time due to those residual feelings from his past life.

did orientation for my new job yesterday and i'm SOOOO excited, i missed customer service so much. i have already learned some very cool stuff + one thing that put me into orbit. however of the newest hires i am the oldest by at least 16 years and possibly the oldest person there on staff who is not an actual manager or supervisor. which is good bc if i had to be in a supervisory role in this specific work environment, i would quit! but i was talking to one of the girls who got hired at the same time and she was like oh wow you're going to grad school...what was your undergrad? and i was like, oh english but i have another masters in library science. this is my second masters. and she went o.O i'm very excited to be a cautionary tale for these kids lol

neurobiology and goethes ‚faust 1‘🎞️

im now burning two candles at a time. what an upgrade :D actually understood biology class the past two lessons and managed to participate which I’m so happy about!! worked in the library again, which consisted mainly of trying to find certain books. multiple ones are out of stock which means we’ll have to look through the archive and hope for the best. I’m already preparing myself to not find the needed books in there. But that’s next weeks problem. Besides, I already planned my tasks for next shift (fixing computers).

Also: thank you so much for 100 followers?! I feel honoured that so many people seem to care about my ramblings and like to watch me struggling my way through my final year of high school. <3 see this as an opportunity to ask anything you’d like to know.
