For anybody mocking Texas' difficulties after Beryl, saying it was "only a category 1", I want you to come and say that to the faces of my elementary school students whose homes are now damaged and without power. I want you to walk up to them and their families, who are desperate for food and air conditioning as their houses climb to above 90° because most places still don't have power, and say that snarky elitist bullshit to their faces.
Talk shit about the politicians and the monopoly that is centerpoint all you want. It's on them. They deserve to be hit with the consequences of their actions and held accountable for their failures to prepare. But leave the regular people out of it. Most of them are just desperate to survive the next few days.
Say Texans deserve this one more time. I dare you.

Many In Texas Still Without Power While Subjected To High Temperatures
A week without power while subjected to high tempetatures. Is this the benefits of global warming some Republicans claimed it would bring? Many in Houston, known to be vulnerable to hurricanes, was left without power for more than a week by only a Category 1 hurricane. Imagine if it was a more powerful hurricane. Poor planning & regulations by power company and State government. Texas continues to have s history power issues which the State government fails to fix! Global warming predicted to bring higher temperatures, more frequently, and for longer duration. Republican solution: drill.

I have an alternative!
Does he have a least favorite human? One that he just HATES?
Because I can make a piñata of them or just summon them so that he can beat them up and feel better!
He does, right?
Well, some of them are off-limits. I won’t even stand to have piñatas made out of them.
Webby, come on.
No, Tinky, she’s right. How would you feel if we let him play with Ted? We can use some of his other least favorites.
[The four cluster and whisper for a bit.]
HE DOESNT LIKE HOWARD GOODMAN.
I don’t think he’s a fan of Tom Houston or Becky Barnes…
But he really, really doesn’t like General John MacNamara.
