Well, I did it

Megatron - I love his tfp design. Probably one of the best iteration of Megs. He is huge, heavy armoured, his face covered with scars… He doesn’t looks like an ordinary military leader who is only capable of giving orders, but like real warrior who can destroy any enemy with his bare hands.

So, in the WOF version, he definitely shares some features with Princess Burn, not only because of his might, but also because of his horns shape and dirty-dark scales (that absorbed blood of his enemies)

Starscream - Boy, I hate him so much 🤣… but in the good way, trust me! In my opinion, when the show's creators make you feel such strong negative emotions towards a villain, it means they've done a great job. Also, I think that his animation in the show was absolutely incredible, because even though he's a 3D model, he still manages to move like a 2D character, which is amazing!

I feel that in my design he still looks more like a skywing, than an icewing (which is kinda logical)

Soundwave - This one was tricky. I couldn't figure out what his mask would look like, so I just made his face a really dark color. I think Soundwave has both gifts of the nightwings, and he’s equally great at telepathy and a future vision. So he doesn't really need equipment to predict enemy movements, which makes him an ideal communicator in the WOF setting. His Laserbeak is part of the armor enchanted by Shockwave, and it might also allow him to open portals (but I'm not sure with this one)

Shockwave - My favourite evil genius. He would definitely have animus magic and mind reading. I think Shockwave is the only one who has advanced the study of magic so far, precisely because he combined it with scientific knowledge and created safer methods of using it, that don't damage the mind. It's like if a Mastermind got animus magic in books.

I also like to think that he didn't heal the damaged part of his face just so that his enemies would fear him more)

Dreadwing - This man deserved better! It's really a shame that he was removed from the show so quickly due to financial problems. It would be great if his arc got a proper conclusion in season 3.

Considering that I didn't want to make him a hybrid, it was difficult to choose a suitable color palette. So let’s just say, that I tried my best😅

I don’t think that he would have any nightwing powers, but honestly it doesn’t even matter - this guy can make a bombs, what else does he need to be cool

Arachnid - Did anyone even doubt that she would be a hivewing? Damn, she even got her own “Othermind” virus. Her design was the easiest to work with - just a little poisonous ass (suspiciously similar to Maleficent).

Just like Starscream, I hate her, but in a good way. She's one of the creepiest characters in the entire series, who’s acting like a fucking heartless monster, especially with Arcee, but even so, there's always was something mesmerizing about her. I just really like strong female villains

Knockout - Wery bright and charismatic guy, definitely one of my fav cons!

I tried to draw him as handsome as possible. Worked a lot on the face shape and coloring, and as for me it turned out pretty nice (finally).

Most decepticons think Knockout is as stupid and lazy as all the other rainwings. And it's not like he completely disagrees with that. Of course he’s not stupid and lazy, but if it’s means less dirty work on the battlefield, well, he’ll continue act like a tipical rainwing

(I also believe that Megatron keeps him as an “art”)

Breakdown - Fun fact: "Operation Breakdown" was the very first thing I saw in this series. And it was an interesting experience for 8 year old me. Maybe that's why I'm so scared of eye gouging scenes in movies now…

I think that he didn't have any siblings initially due to his parents nature, and even after meeting Bulkhead, he felt uncomfortable among the other mudwings. And this is why he later chose the side of the decepticons. And maaaaybe because of one cute rainwing influence)

P.s.

I think that, being mostly nightwings and icewings, the decepticons are much more concerned about purity of their blood and rarely accept half-breeds into their ranks.

During the war, there were many animus dragons among decepticons, which is why they have so many artifacts that allowed teleportation and communication at a distance. But, honestly, I still can't imagine what Nemesis would look like in this AU

I can't find the exact quote but the one where Robb says something along the lines of "If half the things Theon told me about his Uncle Euron are true then he'd be a terrible king." is very fun for a few reasons.

I know it's just kind of a figure of speech but Robb saying 'if even half is true' makes me laugh a little because while Theon is def a bit of a braggart and exaggerator (usually about his own accomplishments) I feel like there's no need to do that with EURON. The guy is actually terrifying and needs no embellishment lol. Especially when he seems pretty infamous outside of the islands anyways.

I'd assume (based on how sparing Balon's letters were) maybe Euron came up in convo when Theon got word that his uncle had been banished for assaulting Victarion's wife and he decided Robb needed the details. Which probably would be one of the more easily believable things that make Euron horrible for Robb to learn. Maybe the ships crew run by tongues cut out mutes and eyepatch hiding a 'black eye shining with malice' seemed too cartoonishly evil to take at face value. Winterfell can obviously be brutal in it's own way but compared to Pyke, Robb grew up pretty sheltered, the scariest guy HE probably knows is Roose Bolton who does not need that kind of loud, in your face evil, to be terrifying lol.

I just wish Robb had lived longer. I enjoy the thought of him meeting Euron/hearing of his fuckery in the later books and being floored that oh! OH! He's actually way WORSE than Theon said he was! This explains a lot! 🥲

Honestly, Robb getting to meet ANY Greyjoys other than Theon probably would have been a big, "Well. THAT explains a lot 😐" moment lol

Hi, I'm the anon from last week who asked for advice writing a fantasy story with a Black lead. I've thought a bit more on what I was asking, since it was pretty vague, and I think I've got a question that makes more sense:

Do you have any insight, or know where I could read up on other Black perspectives, regarding Black characters in fantasy? Common pitfalls, things you'd appreciate seeing more of, things you'd rather see less of, etc? I'd love to get other perspectives and some additional inspiration since my story is still in an early stage, especially as I'm still designing the cultures that make up my world.

I think my initial message came about as a result of me thinking about things the wrong way: I'd been rereading your lessons on the importance of Black hair (some of my favourites to go back to because I love designing characters) and got wrapped up in my head about whether that context would exist within the story considering the wildly different setting and history, and your response reminded me that I'm still the author and can just write or not write things from my own real world awareness.

Thank you for your previous response and your blog in general - I've had this story and character in mind for a long time, but thanks to your lessons, I've been more motivated than ever! Not just to write or design, but to properly sit down and think about what I'm making and how to make it better. I look forward to seeing what you make in future!

Things I want to see more of: Black people 👍🏾 I feel like I get this question a lot, but the reality is that there's no specific plot in any genre, we just want the same stories but Black people 🤣 we wanna be the wielder of destiny, the force, the ancient artifact, the Power, and we want to be respected by the narrative and the other characters while we're at it.

Things I want to never see again: servants (that aren't doing espionage or in hiding or something), laborers, the Mysterious Big Burly Black Character that protects the skinny white royal character, desert kingdoms with all white people and conveniently no one with any melanin, Tellers of the Prophecy that only exist to direct the white characters, Black/dark skin equalling evil, fantasy racism where it's clear the authors have no idea how racism functions

I just don’t get how people can be so mean to some female characters. Like what’s the point of hating on them continuously?

People started calling Kamala crazy and obsessed because she met her idol, she was pretty excited (who wouldn’t BE?!), but when Peter Parker behaved the same way towards Tony everyone was like: “Omg!! He’s such a cute baby🥺🥺 They have a father-son relationship! So cute uwu!”. LIKE???!!!?!

Another example, Starlord singing and dancing in front of the enemy: “Oh my gosh!! So quirky!! Chris Pratt is the best🤣” . Jennifer Walters/SheHulk twerking with Megan Thee Stallion: “Mcu is in shambles” “This is what feminists like” “Cringe”

Again, Jane Foster has been called annoying, bitchy, or USELESS since 2011 (she only an astrophysicist who proved the existence of the einstein-rosen bridge, won a nobel prize, she’s the reason Thor is part of the avengers, and she’s also a cutie, nothing serious.) She was also called evil, you know by who? Fans of the same guy who took New York as hostage killing millions of people, yeah. She’s a bitch because Frigga died defending her, of course!!! It’s not (partially) Loki’s fault for showing the Dark Elves the fastest way out of the cells. (And I’m saying this as a Loki fan)

Reactions to The Light's Chapter 430

Brief summary: GoC gives an oracle to their pope. CJG wakes up and talks to Cale.

Cale's hunch that the Beginning of Chaos was more important than the other four skills of GoC was actually right. The POV of the GoC pope confirmed it. The pope placed more importance on retrieving that scroll over the other four.

The pope was aware of Cale as the culprit behind the failure of the hunters' White Star Project. And that the hunters would be hot on Cale's trail. However, the GoC cult also wanted to capture Cale alive. It was because of GoC's oracle to the pope.

GoC told their pope, "I want to make Cale Henituse my vessel." Meaning, GoC was planning to descend to the Demon Realm through Cale's body, stripping Cale of his ego by using the chaos they gathered in the Demon Realm. So they needed Cale alive.

Darn it, Cale... How many gods want you already? Let me see...

GoD: Become my saint. GoB: Become a god and work under me. GoH: Become my heir. 🆕GoC: Become my vessel.

Four already?! 😂😂😂 And all Cale wants is to have a slacker life... 🤣🤣🤣

Cale was right about the 🚩flag. Sui finally appeared in this chapter, and he was indeed injured. 🙄 He was spying on the GoC pope and currently hiding in a forest as enemies chased after him.

'Hurry up. Kim Rok Soo.' Anything would be answered when he came. As usual, the plan came out of his mouth. But his smile quickly faded. '…Choi Jung Soo.' Why hasn't that punk gotten back to me? 'Let's wait.' Doing my job. That's my role now.

His trust in KRS finding him was touching. 🥰 KRS was the brains of the team. The role reversal though... Cale was the leader now and not him, so it was Sui's job now to gather information.

CJG finally woke up and talked to Cale! Well, at least that talk with CJG did not get delayed like the Molans. 🙄

Cale: Why? Elder, are you suspicious of me being in front of your eyes right now? CJG: E-Elder? Cale: Choi Jung Soo, Choi Han… aren't you their ancestor? CJG: A-Ancestor? Cale: Or should I call you senior? CJG: Hmm… heh.

CJG being flustered at being called an elder and ancestor. 😂😂😂 And then the snicker when he got called senior. I guess he recalled the time he first met KRS though KRS didn't remember him.

CJG then said that the first wanderer wanted to become the first "transcendent." But he asked Cale a strange question afterwards. He asked Cale if he thought the omnipotent god, or that "child", was "evil."

It was not clear why CJG called the omnipotent god a child. Did he personally know the child? Or did he call those younger than him as children because he was very old? But that question was pretty much a 🚩flag.

Cale and a "child"? Yeah, Cale is definitely going to adopt that child. CJG's question was somewhat philosophical. If a child was only taught bad things without realizing that it was bad, could the child really be called bad/evil?

Ending Remarks With all the chaos Cale had been doing, I'm not surprised that GoC wanted him as their vessel. Next chapter would probably be more reveals from CJG, and perhaps Cale could finally kickstart his search for CJS and Sui.

I'm making a mental list of things that would make me jump from a re-telling like if i was jumping from a taxi that just took the wrong direction and was heading me to other place i don't fucking know:

1. Demeter and Persephone having a bad relationship;

I don't mind if they have a rocky relationship thing going on, or if they are working on making it better. Just a mother and daughter having some problems that they can fix its fine!

But i don't like when Persephone hates Demeter or cannot stand her. Or acts like she hates going up to the underworld, because many such cases means that Demeter has been written to be the "evil one" uuuuhg.

This is actually my biggest one. I catch a glimpse of it and its an instant "NOPE!!"

On the same vein, i don't really mind if Hades is absolved from the kidnapping thing from time to time. Its cooler if the writer has the courage to hold him accountable, for sure. But having a silly Hades that stole Persephone on accident (Like the one from Punderworld!) Is also nice and funny tbh jsjdjs.

2. Misogynistic Ares

Ares? Misogynist? Are we talking about the god Father of the Amazons?

Are we talking about the god that fell in love with Aphrodite, the most girly girl in the world?

Are we talking about the god that got captured in a jar for trying to protect his mother and sister?

Are we talking about the god that killed his daughter's abuser?

Are we talking about the god that Marpeza celebrated after a battle with a feast where only the women were allowed; and thus he gained the epithet "Feasted by Woman"?

ARE WE DEADASS?!?!

That's an instant NOPE!

3. Poseidon and Amphitrite being Zeus and Hera 2.0

I didn't realized this one would be such a big one for me but it is apparently? 🤣

Is just, i don't know man.... Zeus and Hera are the ones with the rocky marriage, why make Poseidon and Amphi have a bad one as well?

Like this is not to say one cannot write their marriage as having issues, that's totally valid! Poseidon does have a pretty big wandering eye after all, and that can hurt Amphi, it can be juicy.

The problem is that very much almost nothing supports the idea that Amphi is really hurt by Poseidon's wandering eye 🤣

I was actually shown the other day a passage of Amphitrite helping out one of Poseidon's demi-kids even! It was Theseus!

If you are a son of Zeus, you are lucky if Hera ignores you're existance.

If you are of Poseidon, however, that means Amphitrite is your mom #2.

So yeah, she couldn't care less and i think it is due to the nature of the ocean life in itself. Monogamy is weird in nature and even weirder in the seas! Amphitrite is the literal sea goddess so of course she'll be more familiar with that kind of lifestyle.

I don't know, it sometimes feels like authors are trying so hard to make Amphi's life misserable just as Hera's when "Open Marriage" is just as much of an explanation lol.

I just dislike it when writers try to make of Amphitrite and Poseidon the Zeus/Hera 2.0

Their relationship is not meant to show the complexities of Zeus and Hera. That's why Zeus and Hera already exists.

Poseidon and Amphitrite are meant to be seen as a team. Poseidon makes the waves rowdy, and causes the natural disasters, while Amphitrite stills the waters, and makes everything calm and flourish. They are literally the high and low tides, they need each other for the sea to function properly!

They are not each other's foil like Zeus and Hera! Contrary, they together represent the equilibrium of the marine ecosystems!!

4. Dumb-Blonde-Aphrodite

Aphrodite may be a lot of things but she is not DUMB.

This specific representation of her as being the steriotypical air-head girl who only cares about make-up is so BLERGH (and also that steriotype on itself is so fucking misogynistic uuuhg)

"But the golden apple-" HERA AND ATHENA DESTROYED TROY JUST FOR THAT APPLE AS WELL. THEY ARE NOT DUMB FOR IT, ARE THEY?!

They are vain but being vain doesn't mean dumb. Thanks.

Aphrodite is an ancient being, she's still a goddess, and she is goddess of LOVE too, not just beauty! NOT JUST BEAUTY.

Love is such a complex thing and it makes me so mad when Aphrodite is represented as someone who's "Not that Deep"

It also gets me going when people blame Aphrodite for the start of the Troyan war. I thought we were clear that the Troyan war was one of those fated events where there is no guilty people. It was something that would have happened either way.

(Besides, Paris really choose to have Helen when he could have choosen total world domination. Paris was also ALREADY married to another girl by the time he decided he wanted Helen. How the fuck is that Aphrodite's fault??)

Moon and her really helpful, eldritch Friendstalker 🤣

I really liked their dynamic in Moon Rising. I actually think that this might be one of my favourite dynamics/tropes in fiction 🤣. A character haunted/ manipulated by a powerful spirit, that wants to be set free/reclaim their power, but finds an uneasy alliance with them, that ultimately leads to the evil ghost forming some sort of a friendship/attactment with our character, whom he first considerd to be just a ,tool' on their way to *insert whatever's the spirits goal*.

(if u know any other story/fic with this dynamic let me know <3)

I'm pretty sad there's not gonna be any more chapters from Moon's pov, I kinda feel unsatisfied with this book, I'd like to read more about her and Darkstalker (as a mind ghost) and this Jade Mountain Academy highshool musical romance drama thing 🤣🤣🤣

If you don't mind me asking; I saw the post on what Venus would have looked like if she had been raised by Splinter, but what would have happened had Splinter been able to escape with Donnie from Draxum's lab? And what would've happened when they were ambushed by the foot, would he have been able to stay with Raph and Splinter, escape with Mikey and end up at the nexus hotel with big mama, or would he have been taken with Leo and both be raised in the foot clan? I'm sorry if I'm thinking too much into this, or I'm rambling. Anyhow, have a great day (or night)!

Donnie with Raph and Splinter would be closest to canon, but he’s got so much evil little brother energy, it’s insane 🤣

Donnie with Big Mama…hmmm so there’s already, let’s call it “prim and proper” Donnie in TLP and Gemini, so let’s go in another direction. Maybe Big Mama only takes a liking to Mikey, so she splits them up as soon as she realizes she can get Donnie to create tech for her. Donnie lives his life in her research and development program and eventually outclasses all the older scientists to become the head engineer/doctor (that one’s under much protest and he’s often forced to experiment on the corpses of previous champions). Mikey gets rescued but has no idea what happened to Donnie. Donnie is 17 when the brothers finally find him, and he’s pretty jaded.

Donnie in the Foot becomes Kitsune’s apprentice and his ninpo is second only to Mikey. Him and Leo aren’t super close thanks to Saki keeping them distant by design.

Everyone assuming starscream, breakdown. And Knockout's kids are the biggest trouble makers until Soundwave's kid discovers a penchant for mischief and secretly becomes the ringleader of them all

like at first no one connects the dots as the kids start causing increasingly daring and chaotic mischief but then eventually someone realizes these little stunts are waaaaaay too clever to be one of the three primary mischief makers ideas

Probably for a couple weeks this goes on before someone catches Soundwave's kid orchestrating the next round of chaos (probably with mini shockwave cheering him on or laughing evil, either way egging it all on)

Having been caught and plans derailed, all the adults -think- they're safe but nope. That was exactly mini Soundwave's plan because now he can proceed with phase two

Honestly it's no wonder because you look at Starscream, Breakdown and Knock Out's sparklings and they're dumb as shit (affectionate). Typical small child intelligence, except they can transform into vehicles Mini Soundwave is scary purely because you think he can do no wrong. He's so well-behaved, far more willing to chill with his sire. Like lookit him - he's learning how to use his tendrils! Baby is baby Shockwave's kid vibes with him because their temperament is pretty calm compared to the others. But what they both enjoy is watching chaos unfold from afar With access to his sire's cameras, Soundwave's has all the knowledge he needs, while Shockwave's fills in the technicalities. I think Starscream will be offended once they find out who the ringleader is. He desperately wants to think it's his sparkling. Just as he's declaring this, his kid gets its helm stuck in a glass vial
