Summary: Deadpool and Spider-Man team up a few times until Peter realizes Spider-Man’s reputation can’t take the hit of being seen with a murderous mercenary. He tells Deadpool to back off. Deadpool respects his boundaries and occupies himself elsewhere… just kidding! Actually, he does nothing of the sort, but it’s not his fault. He’s Deadpool. And Peter? Peter’s busy figuring out his feelings. Join him while he figures out the answer to the age-old question: If you can’t trust a semi-reformed mercenary strapped with dozens of weapons, who can you trust?

Teaser Excerpt: (below the cut)

Peter cuts him off with a wave of his hand. “We’re getting sidetracked, and what I was saying is important. I can’t take a knock on my reputation right now. I need to return to being a solo act. I appreciate all the assistance you’ve given me, but things are bad enough as they are. I can’t risk making them worse.”

Deadpool cocks his head to the side. “Bad? Things are bad for you? What sort of bad, and how bad is bad?”

“Bad as in I’m broke,” Peter replies. That’s probably more information than he should share, but he’s pretty sure Deadpool will notice once he takes up residence beneath a bridge.

To his credit, Deadpool doesn’t look horrified to learn of Peter’s financial crisis. Or even surprised, although Peter would have appreciated him faking a bit. “Are we talking ‘considering delivering pizzas for a little extra cash’ broke, or ‘starting an OnlyFans’ broke, or…?”

Peter gives a despairing shake of his head. “It’s ‘might have to move back home’-level broke.”

Deadpool allows a respectful beat of silence to pass. “It really seems like the guy who devotes so much of his time to saving people should be getting a paycheck.”

Peter shrugs. “If I’m doing it for money, then it’s a job. What do they call a hero who only saves people for a pile of cash?”

“A mercenary,” Wade provides cheerfully. “Maybe you should consider it. Sure, it’s not pure like the volunteer thing you’ve got going, but it comes with the upside of not having to live in my parents’ basement. Which would be <i>super</i> inconvenient, considering that they’re Canadian, and also dead.”

Scar let out a heavy sigh, starting to push away from his desk before pausing for a moment, shaking his head, then leaning forward again, his quill continuing to glide along the parchment. He wasn’t ready yet, surely whoever had come to collect him could wait a few minutes longer. Or a few hours. Or a few years, actually.

It wasn’t as if he didn’t want to go on this trip. He knew just how important it was, and how privileged he was that he got to go on it, but-

Well, it wasn’t quite what he’d been hoping for. For a powerful mage such as himself (or, well - future powerful mage, that is) this was perhaps the most important journey he’d make in his lifetime. His pilgrimage to the Crystal Fountain, the source of magic itself, the very journey he’d spent his entire life working towards. He should be excited. He was excited.

At least, he had been, until he found out that he wasn’t to make the journey alone.

Or, in which the vex prince sets out on a magical journey of a lifetime, and an unassuming avian knight is dragged along for the ride. (Or, in which strangers find love in the unlikeliest of places.)

yes actually! we would really prefer you get our works from SMASHWORDS, which has our whole series (one novel and five novellas! wow!) and often has very good deals. you might need to set up an account there because our books are 18+, but smashwords is a pretty good platform for indie authors.

we pretty much just have After the Storm up on amazon so it can get a few reviews and a link to goodreads.

No gory or sexually explicit images. Most of these go against tumblr's TOS, and we don't want the community to get deleted.

Keep things on topic. We're joining this community to talk about fic, so let's make sure we keep our posts fic-related! General discussions about M*A*S*H are fun, but not what this community is intended for.

If you don't like something, scroll past. We all like different things, and that's what makes the world interesting. If someone shares a fic that isn't to your tastes, you don't have to read it. Leaving a rude comment on anybody's post will get you kicked. (If you're concerned that somebody is posting bigoted or hateful material, let me know, but I honestly don't anticipate this being an issue at this time.)

Use read mores for long posts or NSFW material. This makes navigating the dash easier, and helps prevent people from getting jumpscared by lovingly detailed descriptions of oral sex on the subway, something that has of course never happened to me.

Tagging or using content notes for your writing is encouraged. This is the best way to find your audience. People who aren't interested in a particular subject can skip over, and you'll also be able to draw in the people who are enthusiastically interested! If you think a particular topic might be especially sensitive, a read more is never a bad idea.

Only give concrit (constructive criticism) when asked. This is a somewhat contentious topic in fandom as a whole, so we're keeping it simple and asking that members don't give criticism on fic posts unless the author specifically requests it.

And one final note:

Small groups and communities can easily become cliquish. Few things feel worse than joining a group, hoping to find like-minded people, only to find yourself surrounded by what feels like an impenetrable friend group with no interest in talking to you. Nobody wants to feel alone in a crowd.

So when you join this group, don't just talk to people you already know. That defeats the point of joining this kind of community, anyway! Make an effort to talk to someone new. Leave a gushing comment about a stranger's fic excerpt. Tag someone who you think has a really cool interpretation of a character you like. Reply to a post that hasn't gotten any attention. Include people who seem a little shy. Be open and friendly and welcoming.

I typically gravitate towards cute and whimsical things so that’s mostly what I end up drawing! Things like magical girls, dnd, faeries and the likes inspire me the most so you can expect to see a lot of shoujo fantasy nonsense on my blog. Summary: The reigning council of Regines hires a disreputable mercenary fighter to protect their prince from a demon���s curse. It goes well for all of two days.

Stupid spindles. Stupid princes who argue curse semantics. Now Wade’s got to go rescue his brat charge from the tower guarded by a seemingly invincible spider demon. It’d help if he could figure out why the demon’s acting so strange, but the council is too busy breathing down his neck to listen and Spidey is so gods-be-damned cryptic. 

Teaser Excerpt:

“Good morning,” Peter said, already reaching for the closest plate of wheatcakes. “Who’s the new guy?” 

He leaned around Rogers as he asked so he could make eye contact with the unfamiliar man sitting on the other side of the captain of the guard. The fellow had the weathered body of a soldier, all heavy scars, hard muscles, and a shaved head, but the foolish grin of a man who thought he was hilarious. 

“Wade,” the man winked, and his insufferable smile turned even brighter. “At your service.”

Peter’s lip curled in instinctual disdain. He’d experienced his fair share of try-hards in court, people who thought they could feign familiarity enough to be granted privileges and favors. He didn’t care for it at all. “Wade? As though into a pool?”

“‘Exactly like that,” Wade said. He didn’t look at all bothered by Peter’s attempt to disarm him; if anything, he looked amused, as though Peter had referenced some nonexistent inside joke.

“Wade,” Captain Rogers interrupted firmly, “is your personal bodyguard this year.”

Peter whipped his head back to glower at the captain. “I already have my personal guard.”

“Surprise,” Strange smirked as he tucked himself into the chair next to Banner. 

“I already have my personal guard,” Peter repeated, turning to look at Stark and the spymasters for support. “I don’t need a personal bodyguard.”

“Oh, was it a different prince that’s expecting a cursed spindle after he turns seventeen?” Wade asked. His voice was strident and low at the same time, and Peter really didn’t take kindly to smartass strangers being sarcastic to him. “I specifically auditioned for the one due for a demonic sleep curse.”

Burnt out and exhausted with city life, Etho packs up and moves to the old abandoned farm his parents owned before he was born. It's sat empty for thirty years and not in a good state, but he's determined to make the most of it.

The town is full of good people, and he quickly finds friendship in abundance. Amongst them all though, one stands out. Bdubs is kind and funny and exceptionally talented at a number of things. He's handsome too, and Etho can't help but crush on him, just a little bit.

They get along fantastically right from day one, but Etho keeps his feelings to himself. It's just a crush, it'll go away. And besides, it's not like Bdubs would ever like him back.

It takes time for them to figure each other out and for confessions to be made. But they have a lot of fun in the meantime as Etho builds up his farm and makes this little town his home.

Because we always need more cracky fanworks. Yes, even if we have a billion already. We need more.

Every absurd crossover or AU, every ludicrous pairing that would never ever happen in canon, every "What if?" thought that was followed by "Actually, it'd be weird as hell but I could make that work"--we want them.

SPN canon brought us evil clowns that explode into glitter and an entire season where the villain was high fructose corn syrup. Fandom can make it worse. We have the technology.

Crack in the Chassis is bang and a reverse bang at the same time--but NOT limited to fanfic and 2D fanart!

THAT'S RIGHT. You can get cracky with format as well as content!

Have a bunch of SPN figurines you'd love to pose for photo stories or--if you're a masochist--stop motion animation? We'll take it.

Do you have a ton of red color gel food dye and a sheet cake that would make the perfect canvas for a torture scene? We'll take it.

Do you have a few "in this essay, I will" jokes that you're lowkey dead serious about, even though you know you'll look like the Pepe de Silva meme? Don't be self conscious. We'll take it!

Filk, animatics, short films, cosplay--if you can find a way to transmit your fanwork over the internet and it's ridiculous as hell, then you can submit it to CRACK IN THE CHASSIS.

You can be either a pitcher (creating your work first) or a catcher (claiming a work from the gallery and creating a work in response to it.)

And don't worry, if you want to keep to the traditional ways, fanfic and digital fanart are fully welcome. 

As pitcher, you can specify which types of fanworks you're willing to claimed by! You can treat this as a traditional bang or reverse bang if you want to--or you can get a bit adventurous. Allow your fanfic to be claimed by another fanficcer and see what it's like to collaborate with the same equipment. 😏 Mark yourself as exclusively fanart4fanart and watch the ficcers cry about it.
