same thing of how ppl are so cringy about Arthur being a soft bany who picks flowers and journals and someone fucking says his rough personality is an act? THE FUCK YOU MEAN IT'S AN ACT, HE'S AN FUCKING KILLER 😭 Not only that, you can pick flowers as John in rdr1 and rdr2 too i fucking don't get them lmao there is literally a side mission in rdr1 to pick flowers for some dude

plus, they always praise Arthur for being an gentleman or something but ignores how John is so too. Him literally saving a barn for a woman, being so loyal and devoted to his wife, in an mission in rdr undead nightmare he comforted a woman who had a bad panic attack (hugging her, giving her a chair and shit), defended Eva in rdr1 as well. He always tried to help and did, people ignore this shit. Even good things he does, Arthur gets the credit for everything.

Arthur fans are exhausting most of the times, i'm sorry.

ALL of the gang members are killers and thieves. That's one of the points that the game tries to show us. That's why it's shocking when someone as hilarious and down to Earth as Sean jokes around with someone one second and then brutally murders them the next. It's why Hosea is dangerous, too. That's why there are questions about redemption to begin with. The rough personality is not an act. Why would Hosea and Dutch both call him a brute so often? Why would they repeatedly ask him to slow down or act like a gentleman -something Grimshaw also encourages. That's all three parental figures. If Arthur was perfectly soft and gentle, he wouldn't need these reminders from his 'parents'. That's why it's charming when Arthur IS soft because it's two sides to the same coin. It's complexity and hidden depths and that's beautiful! That's what I like to see in characters! Arthur is the enforcer of the gang for a reason. He's somewhat the boogie man because of how intimidating he is and how he is NOT afraid to rough people up. Was it an act to rough up Mr. Downes? Was it an act to rough up any of the people Strauss sends him after? If Arthur didn't have any problems, why would he need redemption? Arthur himself admits that he had some issues and that he actively wants to change. Again, that's the point of the game. Same with John, if he was perfect, there would be no need for redemption there either. As for the flowers, yes. John even says, "Come here, you little beauty" or something similar to that. Yes,you're totally right about picking flowers for someone's wife being a mission. John is such a gentleman in rdr 1, that Bonnie thinks it's an act because she's not used to men being so genteel, especially a man like John Marston. She says it adds to his mystery. Both men are gentlemen. I'm not sure why that's hard for people to see.

I love Arthur, I do, but I agree that some of his fans make it hard not to feels sour towards Arthur. (Who did nothing wrong.)

God I'm now thinking about how some Hadestown just fit rdr SO well. Well aesthetically Hadestown has some country elements and both are an eventual tragedy. And more importantly some of the lyrics just fit the characters perfectly.

Mmmm I just came to the annoying realization that I play RDO like SSO lmao. Ignore story missions, treat game like an open world “trail ride with your pony” game. Do nothing but explore, take pictures and help strangers. I’m peeved that I’m apparently that boring. I can’t help it! It’s a beautiful game! And I love my ponies! And I’m sure the Van Der Linde gang is happy that they’re getting a bit of a break from me shoving a camera in their faces lmao. 

I am boring! I just adore the world and all the little details, and honestly if anyone ever wants to just wander around and explore this gorgeous game w/ me hmu. Chill trail rides and photo sessions? All for it fam. I’m more than happy to ride alone forever but I’d be more than happy to have similar souls ride along with. 💚 I’ll probably make an actual post about that later just in case there are any people out there like me, but I’m gonna grind a bit more first. 

But yeah heck man I adore this game and it’s just really great to explore and interact w/ everything.

You wanna know what drives me absolutely batshit insane? You wanna know what keeps me up at night? What makes my little beginner theorist brain go brrrr?

These two little lines from Mother Miranda herself during her boss fight:

“-those four new children, they could do nothing to assuage my years of  loneliness!” and the one where she refers to them as her “false children”

and like, in case it wasn’t obvious, I am incredibly obsessed with Mother Miranda and how on the surface she seems like a flat antagonist you know- crazy, wants to kill the main character, cares for no one and nothing except her goal- but if you know me then you know I am also obsessed with looking far too into things and making characters like this three dimensional. And something about Miranda and her thing with this family dynamic just gets me. 

Obviously, she says it herself, referring to the lords as her children on at least two occasions. It’s not just because of how she “created” them by giving them their powers, implanting each of them with a cadou which she had also cultivated if I’m not mistaken, but it’s evident in that voice line that she thought perhaps their company would fill this empty hole inside her left by Eva. 

She wants to bring her real daughter back but at some point there was some sort of fondness and attachment to the lords as her children for a time. Clearly, by the end, that is long gone which I think shows off how much she’s truly spiraled, but I think it’s also incredibly interesting that she essentially uses Ethan to kill them for her instead of doing it herself (and by Karl’s claims she’s certainly powerful enough for it. But that’s all a post for another time). 

And not just that but there’s evidence to show that this ideal of family was enforced. It wasn’t just her own delusions she kept to herself, she pushed it onto the lords. Karl and Alcina give us a lot in that regard mostly because we don’t get a lot of content for Donna or Moreau (and the parallels between the four, especially Karl and Alcina I’ll talk about soon too), namely Karl when he says, “I’m nothing like my siblings,” and Alcina twice- once in a voice line where she says, “You escaped my little brother’s idiot games-” and then in a journal entry where she herself questions the ideal of “family”, writing, “Just thinking of that "family" meeting makes me shudder. To think I am treated like a sister to those miscreants.” (which its interesting to me that both Karl and Alcina reject the family dynamic but for different reasons, again, I’ll get to that). That alone shows how Miranda pushes it onto them. 

It adds depth to her character, I think, that she does that. That she not only thinks of them as her children but forces them to see each other as siblings. Which has really paved the way for a lot of my own headcanons and theories (and a fanfic or two or three or-). And the fact that she calls them her “false children” yet was only indirectly responsible for their deaths- wanting them out of the way but not being the one to do it despite having no clear problem with spilling blood herself (but don’t get me started on Moreau’s journal entry that states they all had to be there for the ceremony which is why they each have a flask- making me wonder what might have happened especially to them if Ethan hadn’t shown). 

Anyway- sorry this is messy I’m not an experienced theorist or meta blogger but I’m starting with village and biohazard since I’m obsessed with them- especially village- and I’ve got these ideas in my brain I wanna share outside of with a few mutuals on another site. Sorry if you followed me for supernatural or rdr or even fallout- I cannot control what the beloved brain (derogatory) hyperfixates on but I’ll try to work some posts for those eventually.

RDR Essentials is a weekly newsletter of alternating genres that outlines key releases of the past month, upcoming events around Seattle and happenings in the specified music genre.

Flying Fish Cove - At Moonset

Flying Fish Cove’s first-ever album At Moonset twinkled into existence on Friday, April 5, and was welcomed home that night with a bright and beautiful live performance at the U-District house venue Werewolf Vacation. I became a fast fan of Flying Fish Cove’s fast-paced, guitar-heavy, irresistibly danceable tunes like “Sleight of Hand” and “Cammy the Camry”, thoughtfully interspersed with gentle harmonic offerings such as “Bob & Sylvie” and “Blow a Candle,” which breezed over the swaying basement crowd like soft winds on a spring lake.

Songwriter and frontwoman Dena Zilber claims on “Manticore” to draw the world she owns - one landscaped with crystal shores, ancient deserts of mystery, and cold stars. It’s not uncommon for these fantastical scenes to be quick cut against frank mentions of things like magic markers, little plants, or eighth grade, creating a mood that is uniquely strange, tender, and sweet. This simple and subtly magical mood is further enhanced by chime and wood percussion, lightly and tastefully dusted over the whole record. While I can’t wait to see how Flying Fish Cove will evolve into their next project, At Moonset has given me more enough to think about until then.

The Black Tones - Cobain & Cornbread

The Black Tones released their debut album this year after 8 years in the making. Featuring brother sister duo Eva and Cedric Walker, the 8 track album draws inspiration from the grunge scene in Seattle as well as funk and blues. Family is a key focus not only in the band’s structure (their mother and sister sometimes perform backing vocals on stage) but also in Cobain & Cornbread. Songs like “Striped Walls” and “Welcome Mr. Pink” reflect on the family relationships of the band and their perspectives. “Striped Walls” is a stripped down and whimsical ode to Eva’s childhood bedroom and “Welcome Mr. Pink” explores the mind of their father in prison. In addition to the absolutely amazing album, the pair released a game at www.theywantusdead.com featuring an 8 bit version of “The Key Of Black (They Want Us Dead)” where you play as one of the members and beat up white supremacists and nazis, it’s pretty fucking great. Check out the Black Tones at their next show in Bothell during the Bothell Block Party and BrewFest on May 18th!

GTA 6 için ilk bilgiler ortaya çıkmaya başladı. Rockstar Games‘in oyun dünyasına damga vuran serisi yeni oyunla ile yoluna devam etmeye hazırlanıyor. Peki, GTA 6 ne zaman çıkacak ve nasıl bir oyun olacak? İşte tüm bilinenleri bir araya getiriyoruz.

GTA 6 hakkında tüm bilinenler

GTA 6 haberleri ve sızan bilgileri uzun bir zamandır internette dolanıyor. Ama bunun öncesinde, biraz GTA 5 üzerinden gitmek gerekiyor. 2013 yılında çıkan GTA 5, yeni oyun için de önemli bir yol gösterici olma potansiyeline sahip.

Eylül 2013’te bizlerle buluşan GTA 5, inanılmaz bir başarı yakalamayı başarmıştı. Aslına bakarsanız halen internetin en ünlü oyunlarından biri konumunda. GTA Online üzerinde yapılan güncellemeler ve eklentiler, oyunun heyecanını en üst düzeyde tutmayı başardı.

İlk 24 saatinde rekor kıran oyun, bu süre içerisinde 1 milyar dolarlık gelir sağlamayı da başarmıştı. İşte tüm bunların ışığında GTA 6 nihayet kendini belli etmeye başladı. Yine de hızımızı yavaşlatmamız gerekiyor çünkü Rockstar şu sıralar Red Dead Redemption 2‘nin çıkış süreci ilgileniyor. Bu yüzden uzunca bir süre daha resmi ağızlardan yeni oyun açıklamaları görmeyi beklemiyoruz. Ama bunun öncesinde ortaya çıkan bilgiler, bizlere ne bekleyebileceğimiz konusunda yol gösteriyor.

Şu sıralar yapım aşamasında olan GTA 6 oynamak için elbette beklememiz gerekiyor. GTA 5’in hemen ardından ön yapım aşamasına geçen oyun hakkında Rockstar patronu önemli açıklamalarda bulunmuştu. Peki, bu açıklamalar nasıldı.

Uzun süredir Amerikan Rüyası modelini benimseyen Grand Theft Auto serisi, ilk kez yeni şeyler deneyebilir. Bu da oyunun ülke dışına çıkması anlamına geliyor. Daha önceleri GTA: San Andreas, GTA 4 ve GTA: Vice City ile farklı bölgelere macerayı taşıyan Rockstar bu kez ülke dışına çıkarak tüketim kültürünü farklı noktalarda eleştirebilir.

GTA 6 hangi şehirde olacak?

GTA 4 ile Amerika Rüyası modelini mükemmele ulaştıran seri, bu kez ülkenin dışına çıkarak Tokyo’ya gidebilir. Bu büyük ve önemli bir ihtimal olarak göze çarpıyor. Eğer yurt dışına çıkılacaksa, Amerikan Kültürü’nü benimseyen bir ülke olan Japonya’ya gidilmesi ihtimaller dahilinde görünüyor.

Üstelik bunu kafamızdan uydurmuyoruz. 2000’lerin başında çıkacak olan GTA: Tokyo son anda serinin yapımcıları tarafından iptal edilmiş ve rafa kalkmıştı. PlayStation 2 için çıkacak olan Japonya temalı GTA oyununun, bu kez yepyeni Teknolojiler ile karşımıza çıkması hayli muhtemel bir seçenek.

Geçtiğimiz yıl Rockstar’dan istifa eden Leslie Benzies ise GTA planlarını daha önceleri açıklamıştı. Dan Houser’ın ardından en bilinen isimlerden biri olan Benzies, ellerindeki fikirlerin daha birçok GTA oyununa konu olacağını açıklayarak hepimizi sevindirmişti.

Tokyo dışındaki diğer bir seçenek ise farklı bir Amerika eyaletinde bulunmak. Evet, bazı yerlerde oyunun tüm ABD’de geçeceği söylense de, bizce bu ihtimal dahilinde olmayan bir seçenek. En fazla tıpkı, San Andreas‘ta olduğu gibi eyalet üzerinden ilerlenebilir.

GTA 6 ana karakteri

İşte en çok tartışılan noktalardan biri. Leslie Benzies uzunca bir süre GTA baş karakterlerinin kadın olması konusunda Rockstar’da araya taş koyan isimdi. Oyunun yapısının kadın ana karakteri kaldırmadığını ve Amerikan Rüyası konseptinin sadece erkek karakterlerle sağlanabileceği düşüncesi, yapımı bu noktaya sürüklemişti.

Eh, artık firmada Leslie Benzies yok ve GTA 6 için şimdiden kadın karakter dedikoduları duymaya başladık. Üstelik oyunun ana karakterini seslendirecek kişinin de Eva Mendes olmadı gündeme geldi. Küba asıllı Amerikalı aktris, daha önceleri Daha Hızlı ve Daha Öfkeli filmiyle herkese ismini duyurmuştu.

GTA 6 ne zaman çıkacak?

GTA 6 çıkış tarihi ise halen büyük bir tartışma konusu olmuş durumda. Öncelikle şunu unutmamak gerekiyor. GTA Online halen güncelleniyor ve Rockstar bir diğer dev markası Red Dead Redemption’a odaklanmış durumda. Normal şartlar altında çoktan bir GTA 6 duyurusu alırdık ama öncelikle RDR 2’nin içeriklerinin bitmesi gerekiyor.

Oyunun çıkış tarihi ise 2019 sonu veya 2020 başı olacaktır. Rockstar’ın 2018 ortasında oyunun ilk duyurusunu yapması bekleniyor. Tıpkı GTA 5 zamanında olduğu gibi, yeni yapımda da oyun içi teknolojileri gösteren bir duyuru fragmanı gelecektir.

GTA 6 PC için gelecek mi?

Oyunun PC çıkışı yine gecikecektir diye tahmin ediyorsanız, son yıllarda PC’nin büyük bir çıkışı bulunuyor. Hatta konsola özel bir oyun olan Destiny bile yeni oyunu Destiny 2 ile PC’ye de geliyor. Red Dead Redemption 2‘nin sadce konsola özel olması oyuncuları endişelendirmiş olsa da, duyuru zamanı büyük sürprizlere hazır olun deriz. GTA 6 sistem gereksinimleri de aynı şekilde ilerleyen süreçte paylaşılacaktır.

Robyne’s LeMat revolvers ✨ Once she starts using/getting used to guns, the LeMat revolver winds up being her favorite. While she’s very comfortable with and good at long distance shooting with her carbine repeater, the faster fire rate and smaller, lighter LeMats are her preferred. Plus, she enjoys practicing useless but entertaining tricks. Eventually, she definitely got fancy ass ones, because why not? Can’t fight crime if you ain’t fabulous.
