Sadly i don't really have any new pictures so these are from my summer. First one is from the first Masters of rock festival day, i was really serving some good looks. Second picture is from Coburg, me waiting at the gate for Avantasia concert. And the other two are from my hiking at the High Tatras. 🥰

One Piece Boys As Lovers - Headcanons

The poll has spoken! I kinda figured this was gonna be the result but I was curious anyway. So without further ado-

Law:

Works with you asleep in his lap.

Doesn't get jealous often, but it's obvious when he is.

Not big on PDA but loves subtly showing people that you two are together, and looks real smug about it the entire time.

Massages your hands when he's distracted or thinking about something and accidentally made it into a habit, so now he does it to bring him comfort.

Lots of late night cuddles. He's a big koala. The stickiest parasite, does not let go even when bribed.

Huffs at a lot of your most energy draining ideas, but always goes along with what you want or say regardless. Often has a fond smile as soon as you aren't looking.

Zoro:

A lot of nap time sessions where he's your pillow and blanket. But he'll wake up the second you ask him to.

Spars with you and tries to teach you to swordfight because he likes sharing his interests with you.

Does not make it obvious, but he worries about you a lot.

Doesn't like it when you're out of his sight for extremely long periods of time, it makes him antsy.

Holding hands almost all the time in public. Not as much in private, because the private time between the two of you is a different kind of safe intimacy.

Has a sixth sense for when you're upset and acts on it instantly.

Sanji:

Favorite foods, all the time, at all times. No food request is off the table, he'll make anything you crave when you crave it without any fuss. Sometimes he'll make it just because.

Really likes to dance with you, whether it's wildly spinning around the room or slow dancing under the moonlight.

The physical embodiment of 'just to be the man who walks a thousand miles to fall down at your door.'

He's very weak to cheek kisses. Melts. Like butter.

Rubs your shoulders when you're tired.

Matching couples outfits. His idea of matching with you is wearing a shirt or tie that matches the general color of your outfit.

Ace:

He occasionally takes you stargazing where you spend the entire time making up constellations and the stories behind them. Eight times out of ten you end up huddled together and asleep outside.

Cuddling gets rough in the summer because his temperature runs high, but it's non-negotiable during the colder months. Personal heater go brrrrr.

Holding hands while walking down the street, swinging your arms and laughing like love struck fools.

A lot of adventure themed dates. Amusement parks, hiking, canoeing, or even little walks through the park.

Needing to label your food in the fridge so he doesn't eat it all. He eats it anyway, but always apologizes and makes up for it.

Brags about you a lot to his friends.

Mihawk:

Candlelit dinner dates that become regular dinner nights because they happen so often.

Makes you breakfast every morning and knows how you take your coffee/tea like the back of his hand.

Pet names. It's always 'my dear' or 'darling' and never just your name.

Not the most physically affectionate but always takes care of you.

Occasionally he'll do something for you and you'll be like 'oh I love this' and then he'll proceed to respond with 'I know, you- [brings up extremely obscure habit/interest/trait/tic of yours]'.

Sleeps significantly better with you in his arms and the morning after a night without you he'll offhandedly mention how he slept well but not that well.

Buggy:

You do each other's nails and makeup. Sometimes when he's too tired, he'll ask you to do his makeup for him.

He adores it when you play with his hair. Whether that be styling it, washing it, or simply just running your fingers through it, he loves it all. Goes literally weak in the knees and has to sit down.

Bad jokes when drunk that are so bad the both of you spend an hour straight just laughing.

He gets very easily embarrassed whenever you do nice things for him or compliment him. His face gets redder than his nose- which you may or may not tell him.

A lot of singing together. All kinds of songs and tunes, at any time of the day. Also very loudly. Sometimes off key.

He'll try to be straight faced around you, but the second you say something or make physical contact he giggles like an idiot. He's very shy about physical affection, and acts nervous about it every time.

Crocodile:

The physical embodiment of 'they asked for no pickles.'

He really likes to keep an arm around you whenever he's next to you, and will occasionally tug you a bit closer.

Long, mellow conversations that turn into late night talks.

It's hard to tell when he's jealous because he tends to glare at anyone and everyone that gets a bit too close to you.

Buys things for you. Not to be nice, it's actually a genuine problem. He buys way too many things for you because he tends to get something if it reminds him of you, which happens often.

Does face masks with you on the weekends and you can occasionally convince him into doing a spa night with you

summer scions!! I absolutely love the new portraits for all their smug happy expressions. Except Y'shtola, who is not going to deign to give a camera a proper saucy look because that's silly. Urianger is smirking twice as hard on her behalf.

Glam review under the cut!

I unlocked Alphinaud first of the twins and didn't know Alisaie had a little necktie yet, so I'm deducting a point from my first impression because the sheer delight that he had a silly little necktie of some sort no matter the situation delighted me so thoroughly. Since they're still engaging in matchy twin dressing to some degree, I have to assume they either like it and won't admit it after digging in so hard, or Ameliance sent them off with cute outfits and matching backpacks, and they still don't really shop for themselves.

He's got the practical watch/compass gloves which are good for a technically proficient Sage and probably the most practical gear he's ever worn except for when he was poncho Alphy, but wearing ankle-length jeans seem like the least weather-appropriate choice of the Scions if we assume their average skin coverage is a good weathervane for the temperature in Tural. I chalk it up to teenage awkwardness.

8/10 unless he and Alisaie chose their outfits themselves, in which case it's a 9/10

I think Alisaie is the only Scion to keep a single piece of their default gear, and those are her usual gloves. She's colour-matched around it.

Because of the gloves and boots, she looks the most ready for hardcore hiking, somehow, and her matching Alphinaud with a cute button down shirt with rolled up sleeves along with that particular choice of baggier shorts (when she normally wears more form fitting shorts) do give me the closest to butch vibes it's probably likely to get for main characters. So I'm giving her an extra point I stole from Alphinaud for the lesbian vibes.

9/10 or 10/10 if she made these choices all by herself.

Everything about this cracks me up, from his portrait above to the image of him tanking open shirted once he pulls mobs.

Believe it or not, he's getting an additional point for those shoes simply because the competition in practicality in tanking is G'raha.

I had a moment of excitement when I thought the necklace was pink because that's always a cute Ryne/Minfillia thing fanartists give him with ribbons and such, but once I got zoomed in on him it was red, so I guess he's just been shopping. Although, the turquoise shorts are her eye colour and the actual large diamond shapes are secretly Mothercrystal coded in those colours, which just cracks me up that you can pick out one of the worse days of his life (Urianger's grand Warrior of Darkness plan) in his Chill Summer Beach Vibes look.

Douchebag beach bro shell bracelet as well, which really makes me double down on him and Urianger spending way too much on tourist bait along the stalls in the Famous Turali Market. The hat and sunglasses are giving him one of the Most tourist-y looks thematically reflecting how a lot of the Scion guys were just here to hang out, narratively or literally. Maybe he's trying not to get such an intense tan again, which is the only reason he's not entirely topless.

11/10 I could not stop laughing when I got him and Urianger to 100 and Beheld The Brilliance in the same moment.

Please note the raised sunglasses in Urianger's portrait, which are not the model his character uses.

I am delighted that I had been incorporating that island watch into my healer glams on both the logic you need to know your clock positionals but also they're largely the smarty pants jobs (WHM being vibes only aside - it gets its own glams :P). And here's Urianger and Alphinaud both using watches.

Now, I had a moment of being vaguely disappointed he had trousers not a skirt or something else swishy and androgynous, but then I did realise that I, a nonbinary weirdo who relates to Urianger since he made me nonbinary, have actually gone to a couple of garden parties dressed in some variation of this exact outfit of light trousers and a nice button up. Plus, the earrings are in both ears, so no "Google, which ear is the gay one?", these are just straight up cute femme dangly earrings with his favourite little dudes on.

More importantly, the colours he's repping are those of Lopporit Radio. He probably tunes in every night for his broadcasts :')

Mirrored sunglasses for the guy notorious for keeping thoughts and plans close to his chest and choosing deliberately to be enigmatic even when it serves zero purpose except for I guess gender affirming care. (The gender is Weird Bitch.)

I can't tell how I feel about those dad sandals. I suppose it depends if he's wearing them like a fashion model (brand new and clean with perfect pedicured feet) or if those are REALLY dad at the beach-like and, since I'm not a foot person, this for me is only a choice between "not off-putting" and "AURGH".

9/10 the proximity to Thancred hauls him up several points of misgivings I had, and the lopporit shout outs are killing me :')

I unlocked Y'shtola last and holy fuck I am a lesbian. I don't even recognise where those boots come from, so either a really expensive glam or something I just have not stumbled on. She has toe rings I think? And painted nails? I have no idea if the garter (?) is part of the boots glam or a custom thing as result of not recognising the boots and how much of them is normal. I feel like they customised a lot on her anyway - the back of her top has purple beads that match her staff (not dyable on the real piece)

and I think the necklace has to be part of the top instead of a separate necklace piece with the way it hangs, AND the bracelets are a glove piece with the original summer glam, but I assume they're layered with the false nails, also in the glove slot. All in all it's giving the sort of effort which is starting to creep up to what I'd expect from the modding community not the game. I mean, not THAT good but getting close. Baby steps towards what fandom can make :P

She really is god's favourite meow meow.

Anyway I can't really judge this fairly because it's really hot and I love her so I'm just going to give it 100/10 and move on. :)

The fact he has Azure Dragoon Blue Top and then Violently Nidhogg Fuchsia shorts is the colour theory that absolutely killed me. When he lights up during his burst and starts glowing pink all over his shorts are like. Taking him over like the eye once did I think.

love a guy who can embrace his past trauma and dress to match all that has passed before and all that he intends to do now (kill something large and tasty, grill it on the beach, fall asleep with a beer in hand until the waves come in and wake him up).

I gave him that wooden bracelet in the glam he has on my desktop screen so once again I'm feeling weirdly vindicated.

Other details: no ponytail despite the warm weather because he's got enough ventilation. The fact there's cactaurs on his shirt when he's on record for eating them is amazing. We should imagine he's wearing his jobstone like that pendant (since he's one of the only guys with a confirmed jobstone despite being the Guy Without A Job notoriously that one time.)

Unlike Thancred's hat and sunglasses combo, which seems fun and boisterous somehow, he seems the most walled off of all the sunglasses wearers even though he's not the most mysterious. The visor really helps make it a sort of wall. Maybe just because his terse upfront personality and somehow despite his clothes horse habits THIS amount of whimsy seems the most out of character at first glance, but he DOES look uncomfortable to me.

Somehow I find everything about this outfit excellent for his character but also like maybe he was forced into it, everyone cornering him and telling him the Scion Beach Party was a mandatory work event and he was not allowed to beg off of it and he did put some work in expressing himself but also is going to go find a much quieter corner to lurk in for the day, when not competing with Thancred (can't grill, loves it) for the barbeque (Estinien can grill, would only do it because the threat of Thancred doing it wrong is too high).

confused 7/10 mostly because I think Krile is blackmailing him and not because I don't love everything about this.

Anyway here's the deducted point for tanking in flip flops (PERFECTLY acceptable BLM gear btw but he's Mr Versatile.)

(I joke but the main character of my novels is a flip-flop wearing menace who could and would tank in them)

Between the padlock and key necklace and the woven bracelet right after we all went feral over the Thavnarian bracelets for couples thing so recently (and Corvos is just across the water!) he's absolutely dripping cutie pie love interest coding yet again.

(Also yes I know the lock and key thing is very funny because we were introduced to him learning he was a fancy key to a big door.)

Gains a point back because the other green g'raha thing is I'm pretty sure people use this shirt glam because it kinda looks like it has weed on it.

Don't quote me on that, vibes only.

Anyway he came colour coordinated (with his original eye colour and hair colour not the bright Allagan dalamud red dye that goes with his normal outfit) so so precise and neat, like he's going to some sort of formal event, and even with flip flops he really does seem incredibly put together like the twins or Y'shtola, just for full outfit cohesiveness.

As someone who would hold G'raha's hand on the romantic gondola vibe, 10/10.

3 out of 10 and a huge cringe if you would not. He's got to stop Striving.

Hey it's the star of the show!! Adorable hairstyle out, cute plot-important earring on, and wearing her exact character colours but adorable beach wear :)

I love that she looks kind of like she went to the girls for advice and got the top from Y'shtola and the shorts from Alisaie, and she probably was very serious and stressed about getting this right even though there's no rules and no one's judging her -

oops.

Anyway the ballet shoes are adorable and go with all the cute picto spins and twirls :)

I think the strict colour scheme does speak to the slight lack of fleshing out she got so far in the story (we don't really have any real character reason that picto in particular spoke to her and this glam isn't one of the many fun takes people had on how to dress to meet that brief ). I don't think DT did more than just repeat that she's serious and sweet and trying really hard to get out of her shell and be more fun and creative and also she's been practicing dodging really hard she shouts mid-Trust combat (bless her). But ALSO getting out of the shell is really hard and she only found out everything and got some closure in the final level 100 quests so there wasn't really much to do with her after that.

This is like her First Non-Plot-Critical Whimsy Moment and losing the hood or any cat ears entirely (and there are perfectly functional cat ears to wear in game) is a good step considering we know she wears it precisely because she needed a sort of advance PR campaign to make her look cute and approachable before she opened her mouth and started bringing down the vibe (serious scary children are SO funny though and i love that for her). Having the same top as Y'shtola is a good thing for trying to make her less childish and have her trying to show that now as she takes this huge step out from the background. I mean, it still has a slight sense of her costuming herself and pushing herself out of comfort zones as she always does, but it's 100% in character so I adore it.

1000/10 because Krile is great and there's so much going on here and it's so fun when a character's whole personality is a costume and then they're like aurgh wait do I even want that??

yourinstagram Hello, you little people in my phone! As most of you know (because of Daily Mail) two days ago, my husband, our child, and I were asked to leave the restaurant we ate at, because of causing disturbance to other customers. The said disturbance was me breastfeeding our child. Before our waiter and then the manager talked with us, my husband took a picture (above) (he really takes pictures of everything) showing what was visible while breastfeeding (A BREAST !!). There really was no conversation between two parties. When asked if covering myself with a cloth would be more comfortable, I was just once again asked to leave the restaurant. No person should be forbidden to feed their children in public. I shouldn't have asked if covering myself would be more comfortable with others. No. We shouldn't accept this kind of non written 'rules'. With everything said, I wasn't going to let our child starve and went to feed her in a car, so no stranger eyes could see a breast. UD headcanons no one asked for!

my motivation has gone to get the milk and has not come back since, SO HEY! who wants to hear some random headcanons that have been microwaving in my head for the past year???

this is going to be a long one...

Lou is the kinda guy to only pack nice looking outfits on a holiday. Do they suit the occasion? Probably not. But he wants to look the part every where he goes, even if he's wearing a suit during the middle of summer

He would also be the guy to complain that it's too cold, even though he was told to pack up layers of clothes for a hiking trip, and didn't. But when someone tries to give him a coat, he says "I don't need that, I'm fine!" even though he looks like he's going to freeze over.

He takes the coat not too soon after

On the other hand, either Nolan or Ox would overpack for a trip. Ox because he is basically the fatherly figure of the group, and wants to make sure that everyone has enough food, water, and layers of clothing for the trip. Oh, and he brings a first aid kit as well. Nolan however does it because "What if I didn't pack enough?? What if I need this oddly specific thing??" and packs more than he needs to

Speaking of Ox, he always came off as a character who really enjoys camping and exploring, ya know? He seems like the leader of a scout group who loves to sing campfire songs and tell spooky stories that no one believes. (him and Rhidian would get along well)

LITERALLY NO ONE TALKS ABOUT LUCKYBAT AND OX'S DYNAMIC AND IT'S DRIVING ME WILD. Hello?? A withdrawn and somewhat jaded mayor who is protective of those he's close to with his intelligent, caring and concerned assistant?? That sounds interesting!

I'm sure LuckyBat knows more than anyone else (besides Lou) of what Ox went through. Perhaps he didn't know about the Institute, but he knew ox went through some stuff outside Uglyville. Perhaps that's why he's so cautious to go into the pipe.

(And perhaps the reason why he decides to go to learn new stuff was for the sake of finding out what Ox doesn't speak about?)

Back to the Prettydolls, I always found it interesting that Nolan was able to run the gauntlet despite being imperfect, although Moxy and Mandy, two other imperfect dolls, were thrown into recycling. Why was Nolan allowed to run the gauntlet, huh Lou? Didn't you say that any unideal looking doll goes to recycling, Lou????

Personally, I like to think that Lou allowed Nolan to do training and was like "Haha watch this idiot fail". And turns out Nolan was really good at it (flashbacks to Nolan being buff in the novel). Lou is flabbergasted.

...Either that or Lou just allowed him to run the gauntlet to watch him fail immediately because "Haha funny" and also "Haha imperfects can't win. Suck it loser~"

Kitty is jealous of Mandy's makeup skills, and often copies her because of it, too embarrassed to ask for advice because she needs to learn on her own. After Lou gets overthrown, Kitty and Mandy help each other out on their makeup and hair

Tuesday is the girl to think that "Yeah I'm smiling, but inside I'm crying" is the deepest thing to ever exist. Kitty bullies her for it.

Also, Tuesday cry-sings "I'm a mess" by Bebe Rexha after Lou denied her 1244th love confession. She will try again tomorrow

Because Kelly Clarkson was pop-rock for a while, I like to imagine that Moxy had a rock-n-roll rebellious phase, and still has a few characteristics from that era of her life

During the scene where Lou is going up the gauntlet lift with everyone else, he is constantly moving about. Winking at Mandy to fake confidence, adjusting his suit...etc. I always saw this has him being nervous, because you know, he's about to expose himself for being a prototype after this gauntlet stuff is over. So I like to think that he fiddles around with his suit when he's nervous. Mainly readjusting the sleeves, tightening his ascot tie and flicking out his collar. Also pulling out loose threads, if there is any.

I thought for the longest time that when Lou's hair got slightly messier, it showed him being more genuine. There is one god damn strand on his fringe that goes from being in place to hanging out, and I thought it showed him losing his façade, very very subtly.

This might be a hot take but I always saw Loundy (Mandy/Lou) as being friends/lovers to enemies. Think about it: Lou and Mandy seemed to have some sort of connection, Mandy (in my opinion) basically being Lou's assistant, similar to the spy girls. She began thinking he was perfect, and they formed a (seemingly) close bond. But over time, as Lou's desperation for perfection increased, her opinion of him soured, and she realised he isn't as perfect as she thought. She kept the negative thoughts to herself, though. Who would believe her? The perfect doll with the flawless looks and endless talents, topped off with a charming personality... Why would he be unhinged? How would he be unhinged?

You know that line Mandy says to Lou at the gauntlet? "You know, Lou.. When I first got here, I thought you were perfect. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with you. But, I can see a lot better now." perhaps that wasn't just talking about the events of the film, as it probably implies. Maybe she knows how terrible he's been for a long time...

update: the trend has started!

so, with june coming around the corner, and by extension summer i was thinking of trying to start some trend relating to summer, but not like last year with the beach trend (which i sadly missed, but it was awesome to see happen!)

that being said tho, i was tryna come up with something else other than a beach when i thought maybe a road trip?

like, maybe someone has a road trip/vacation planned for anyone in the tsp fandom to take part in (we get a shuttle bus, and everyone is invited, money mysteriously appears so we can cover the expenses for everyone)

but then i got the idea of having it so its the start of the road trip first as a trend, but then doing something like paratober but condensed down into a week or a few days or so, where its your tsp characters actually at some locations visiting it (like, theres a prompt where were at some mountains and going on a hike, or a forest, maybe one where everyone is under some aurora borealises, to even just everyone at a bar for the night)

TLDR on the potential plan:

For a few weeks or so, there will be a vacation thread where you can draw your narrators, stanleys, mariellas, curators, buckets, lines, 432s, TKs, jims, etc etc, either preparing or already ready for a road trip

this can be an outfit, bags packed, maybe everyone rushing around, your characters inside the bus or outside, yknow, pre road trip/vacation vibes

After a few weeks, theres a schedule of some sort of places everyone might go to for this trip. this is the prompt list much like for things like mermay and paratober, which are essentially for things your characters to do, like a real vacation

this would be prompts like visiting a waterfall, going to a forest, going to a resturaunt, hotels, being on the road, visiting an iceberg, going to the beach, road trip games, etc

Gareth wanted to laugh as he looked at himself in the bathroom mirror.

Jean shorts, sneakers, bright yellow tee with the camp logo plastered right on the front. The same as when he was a little kid, only now he was a big kid, and it looked just as ridiculous as it did then.

At least every other counselor was wearing the same thing.

He exited the bathroom and gave a few of the older counselors a wave as he made his way to the rec hall for orientation. He recognized a few faces from school as he entered the old building, just a few other people he would see in the halls in school. The place was just as he remembered it.

Yellow lights, wood paneled walls, and that familiar wet paint smell that seemed to never leave the halls. The nostalgia made him smile, remembering a few past moments from his time at summer camp. Swimming, hiking, and he always loved when he was able to look around the trees and bushes and bugs when they did nature walks. There was only one thing that he hated about camp and that was-

“Gareth?”

That voice made his body tense up immediately. He hadn’t heard it in so long, and yet he knew exactly who it was.

He turned and was shocked to see you standing there, same outfit as him, looking just the same as you did so many years back. You were older, but he still had that same feeling he did about you when he saw you last. And it wasn’t a good one.

“Hey,” You said with a smile, taking a few steps closer to him, “how’ve you been? I haven’t seen you since we were little, you look…” Your eyes graced him up and down, “older. Like little you just got bigger.” You giggled.

He pursed his lips and tried to look anywhere except for your general direction. But his mother raised him too well to be anything other than a gentleman,

“Thanks.” He said plainly with a smile, “You look almost the same too. Save for, you know, getting taller and older and all that.”

He couldn’t stand the fact that he was forcing himself to be nice to you, and he knows that he shouldn’t hold a grudge over something that had happened so long ago but he just couldn’t look past it.

You made his life miserable, and now here he was, in the same predicament as he was all those years ago. Stuck at the same camp all summer.

“Are you counseling here too?” You asked him, noticing his uniform.

“Yep. Figured it would be nice for some extra money.” He shrugged and glanced inside the small room, seeing the other summer counselors taking their seats, “It was nice to see you again. Maybe we’ll run into each other again while we’re here.”

“Maybe.” You said with a smile as you turned and walked your way back, entering one set of double doors as Gareth entered the other.

It was strange seeing him after so long, and you’re sure you could sense he felt it was strange too. Maybe for a different reason than you…

The room was quiet, and as Gareth looked around there weren’t many open seats, just two near the middle were left open and he felt hopeful until he saw you sit in one of them. One empty chair left, and of course it was next to you.

He groaned to himself, making his way to the empty chair and keeping sure to not acknowledge you and focus his attention to the front of the room. Though he could already sense your eyes on him. Only quick glances here and there, but you couldn’t help but try to get a better look at him.

He had fidgeting uncomfortably in his seat, not even paying attention to the camp director at the fronts yearly speech, announcing the new additions to the activities schedule and the new rules that had to be put in place thanks to a few of the campers sneaking off in the middle of the night to try and get to the kitchens for a midnight snack. He didn’t even notice his own name being announced until you nudged him with your elbow.

His attention was brought back to the camp director, announcing the two of you coming back to camp as counselors after being campers yourselves many years ago. But even the welcoming looks from the seasoned counselors and the much too bright smile of the camp director wasn’t enough to shake the bad feeling he had gotten since he saw you.

All those memories from years before had come flooding back into his brain after trying so hard to forget them. He remembered then why he hadn’t come back for so long.

He knew you were both grown now, just reaching the cusp of adulthood and having many of your own experiences as you grew up, but he didn’t care. That didn’t change the way you treated him.

When he saw you standing there in that hallway he couldn’t help the wave of unease that washed over him.

He didn’t see a girl he knew from camp nearly a decade beforehand, he saw the girl that made his life hell on earth for weeks on end.

The girl that would hide his change of clothes in the woods after swimming in the lake so he would be stuck freezing cold in a bathing suit for half the day. The girl that would accidentally step on his letters from home before he got to read them. The girl that time and time again would accuse him of being the bully just because she was a sweet and innocent little girl but he knew you were nothing close to sweet and innocent.

For the first time in his life, you showed him what hate felt like.

His zoning out has caused him to not realize the little start of camp meeting had ended, and he was one of the last people sitting in those uncomfortable plastic chairs.

He sighed and decided he wouldn’t let you get the best of him this year. He wasn’t going to let the bad memories of the place ruin his chance to many any good ones. He was no longer a scared boy, he was a man, or at least he was close to one.

Gareth stood up and walked out from the aisle of the rickety plastic chairs, following the other counselors outside to go to their selected cabins and meet the groups of kids they were each assigned for the year. He had only just stepped a few feet outside before he felt someone grab his shoulder,

“Hey,” It was you. Again. “Can i talk to you for just a sec?”

Gareth sighed and pulled his arm back, glancing over and seeing that the other summer counselors were still walking with the director,

“Sure.” He said to you, still trying to keep up with the group as you walked next to him.

“Look, i know that we didn’t get along all that well when we were kids-“

“That’s one way to put it.” He cut you off, and you could see that you being around was irritating enough to him.

“I know that i was a bitch to you, and i shouldn’t have been. I treated you horribly and you didn’t deserve that.” He could hear that you were being sincere, but he still couldn’t shake the fact that you had made him feel so horrible all those years ago.

“I didn’t. Why me? Why, out of all the other kids we were with, did you pick me to torment?” He couldn’t even look at you, keeping his gaze on the counselors a few yards ahead of you.

“I don��t know… To be honest with you, i didn’t even hate you. I don’t even think there was one time i thought i disliked you.” If there was any time to be honest with him, it was now, “I always thought you were really nice, and from what i remember you were pretty cool, for an eight year olds standards.” You smiled and let out a giggle to ease the tension but he had kept himself still.

“Look,” You quickly stepped in front of him, stopping your walk and making him finally look at you, wether he wanted to or not, “I just wanted to apologize. You didn’t deserve that, no one does, and i just wanted the chance to say that i’m sorry. So… I’m sorry.”

Gareth stood there and stared for a moment. You saw the puzzled look on his face and gave him a moment.

He wasn’t sure how to feel.

He was so angry at you for so long, years passing of him trying so hard to get rid of those terrible memories that you caused, and he wanted to still be mad at you but he couldn’t. He couldn’t bring himself to continue on with this anger he’d held onto for so long.

Though it can’t fix the damage you caused, it was still nice to hear you finally utter those two words he’d been waiting so long to hear.

All he wanted was an apology after so long, but now that he had gotten it, he didn’t know how he should feel towards you.

He looked you over for a moment. He couldn’t see that hateful girl anymore, all he could see now was a girl with a remorseful look on her face who very clearly felt so much shame for the way she treated him.

“Thank you.” He said plainly, not sure of what else to say that could make the situation any less awkward.

“Of course. I feel like an apology is well deserved for the way i treated you. And if you want to, maybe we could just use this summer as a fresh start with each other?” You wanted to be hopeful, and seeing his eyes finally lock with yours gave you the littlest bit of security you needed.

“Yeah.” He said with a smile, “I’d like that.”

“Me too.” You smiled back, “And i promise i won’t put a frog down your shorts this time.”

The two of you shared a laugh, and you thought you could see a bit of pink on Gareths cheeks as he looked down at his shoes.

“Good, that was definitely one i forgot about.”

You smiled and looked just up ahead of you at the other counselors huddled in a group, watching the girls and boys split up to their respective areas to meet the campers.

“I guess this is where we part.” You turned back to Gareth and gave him a small smile, “It really is nice to see you again.”

“Yeah, you too.” He smiled and nodded in agreement.

You reached your open hand out for him to take,

You held your hands for just a moment, enjoying the silence with one another before noticing the girls and boys moving further down the paths to their respective camps,

He watched as you quickly jogged to catch back up to the other girls, and he figured he should do the same, but he couldn’t help but stare with a smile for just another moment.

For someone he hated so much an hour ago, he even shocked himself with seeing how pretty you’ve gotten. A fresh start between you two would be the perfect thing in his eyes.
