Draft 3 edits have begun. I’m using the beat sheet method taught by @roz_morris in her Self-Editing Masterclass she did with @janefriedman. It’s a little different than what i did with draft 2, but I think it will help me find what scenes are darlings — because I know they’re in there — and should go, while also giving me a birds eye view of the book. I was really overwhelmed before talking that class. SO glad I had the foresight to buy it back in April because I definitely needed a new editing framework to try out. ohh... I love the ending line of Shinra Tensei: "And before her, God." because it's such a nice climax of the soul-reading scene, and also because it feels so heavy and impactful in my mind. the divinity is dripping from it, and I love that, because I've been building Pein up as a god-like cultish leader of the Akatsuki and this fits with that so well.

🧮 what are you working on? describe it in 20 words or less

the next chapter of Bansho Ten'in, where Shikaku and Gaara go to Taki, and ItaSaku meet an unexpected someone...

🎶 do you write with music? does the music you’re listening to influence your writing?

yeah! i have a playlist called 'writing and worlbuilding' with all kinds of classical music (mostly piano) that i use like 60% of the time while writing. otherwise I don't use music at all - rarely, there's 1 song i like specifically for that scene and I listen to that, but often music with singing in it is too distracting for me.

💕 whats your favorite part of your writing process?

when my muse is ON and i'm just writing a scene and in the flow and really feel like the characters are writing it, not me, to the point that even I don't know what I'm going to write until I write it

😠 whats your least favorite part of your writing process?

hmm. i don't really have a least favourite one - but i try only to write when my muse is there. so i don't like at all writing for a deadline or something. i did a zine like, twice, but it's not really my thing bc of the deadlines involved.

🎀 how do you decide when something is done?

mostly it goes like this: writing first draft - selfedit - beta - another last selfedit - publish. but i also edit pieces or chapters already published, so in a sense it's never done. i can't reread my own work without editing it.

🌅 do you typically known the ending to something before you start writing it?

most of the time, yes. or at least a vague idea how it'll end. when i start writing a fic - especially longfics - they've been in my head already for quite some time, and so i already have a vague idea of the big plotpoints it's going to hit.

🔚 have you ever completely changed the direction a piece was going?

not really, no. things that happen on the way can change, but the big points i've often thought out before and i often stick to it.

🤔 why do you write fic?

because it's fun! because i love reading fic and i love contributing to fandom. because i love people's kind comments that make me proud of my work. because the blorbos in my head sometimes won't shut up

⛔️ whats something you try to avoid in your work?

anything touching sexual assult.

📚 do you ever read similar works while writing, or do you intentionally not read them?

depends on the work: when i'm writing oneshots or short stories, yeah! i write that pairing/genre/idea because i like it, so i read it too. when i'm writing longfic, i usually do a lot of reading in that area before I'm writing the longfic or at the beginning of the longfic - but at some point the longfic verse becomes so established in my mind, i read less similar works, because the room is already filled with my own universe.

🦉 give yourself a piece of writing advice

don't try to make anything perfect, just enjoy and be proud of what you write. don't focus on flamers, and take concrit in good faith.

a lot of people love it and i have heard some very nice things about my writing <3 also i love that i can (mostly) make the cool scenarios in my head work on paper, too!
