Hi your dating sim project characters look sooo interesting!! If you feel like sharing some more info about them I'd love to hear it!
thank you!! i havent talked about it in a long time, it would be smart to just reintroduce it :-)
the story is about this fictional european country in the early 1790s. finances are bad, the king is unpopular, the revolution is going full force in nearby france and it's giving people ideas ; it's not going well. pauline is very new here, she's just arrived after suddenly inheriting a title granting her power and influence, and she will have to very quickly learn the history and politics of her new homeland. that's a lot of pressure, but she's so smart and special... i believe in her!
in the city, she can run into four love interests, each with their own politics and ideas of what needs to change.
virgile believes the problem is the current king, who is bad at ruling, doesn't take his role as a god-appointed monarch seriously, and is from a lesser branch of the royal family. a more legitimate candidate from the main branch could federate the people around him, give them strength to survive through these hard times. unfortunately, the former king's children and grand-children were all assassinated, so that branch is extinct. or is it...? virgile is rather sheltered and melancholic, but he is sweet and genuine
lise worked in the royal palace and became very close to the queen, even though she was a commoner. the queen gradually gave her responsibilities far beyond her station, and even asked for advice on all sorts of topics ; the court noticed her growing influence and banned her. lise is headstrong and determined. she doesn't believe in overthrowing the monarchy entirely, but that a good ruler should listen to the competent people around them, regardless of their family name. there were lots of rumors about her and the queen, and it's part of why she was thrown out. scandalous...
augustin is a lawyer who has always dreamt of military glory. sadly for him, military schools and officer positions are only open to the nobles ; even if he were to join the army, he could never rise to any significant rank. he sees this as a great injustice and backwards, and a good example of the stupid ways the country is run. he wants to create a more equal system, but a system still based on merit and education, and where the military will play a major role. augustin is proud and can be too blunt and outspoken, but im sure true love can make him behave :-)
camille is a former shepherdess who is on the run after killing her feudal lord and another noble, and now lives among the poorest workers and the criminals. she only wanted revenge for herself at first, but her new life as an outlaw has made her realize just how many people around her are struggling, are suffering, are dying of poverty. she wears men's clothes and has assumed a new name, and so far it has helped her avoid being caught. this doesn't surprise me, but most people i ask pick her as their favorite candidate. and i get it!
you could pick based on their politics, but i think picking just based on looks is also a good way to determine a whole nation's fate. i mean, true love!
#anon#answered#dating sim project#i do hope this makes sense... this took me so long to write cause im not good at “saying things”#but ty so much for the question <3 and to everyone who has expressed interest in these characters!!!#truly means the world to me :'-)

Hi! I'm probably not intersex, and recently I've been trying to educate myself as much as possible on the intersex experience, entirely through reading posts from intersex people here on Tumblr.
I was wondering if there was any chance I could get some guidance on how I can best be supportive of intersex people both online and out in the wild! I try a lot to reblog everything I see on here and in general just treat everyone the same way, no matter if they're intersex or not, but I can't help but be worried I'll say something wrong out of being still on my journey to being educated.
So I thought I'd come here and just... ask?
What can I do to be the best ally I can?
In the same vein, do you happen to have any suggestions on sources I could use to educate myself further?
Thanks in advance!
Hi anon! Thanks for wanting to be a better ally.
I would recommend checking out the sources shared in this post.
I'd also specifically highlight that I think it's really important for allies to learn about intersex justice. Intersex justice is a specific movement and framework created by intersex people of color from the Intersex Justice Project that looks at intersex justice as a part of collective liberation, understands the important of cross-movement organizing, and recognizes the way that systems of power based on white supremacy and colonialism shape and enable intersex oppression. The seven principles of intersex justice are:
Informed consent
Reparations
Legal protections
Accountability
Language
Children's rights
Patient-centered healthcare
These are really important values to center your intersex allyship around.
I'll also share some miscellaneous tips for things to think about in your intersex allyship:
Listen to intersex people about our experiences, not doctors! The medical system plays a huge role in our oppression, and is not the expert on our experiences.
You're going to have to unlearn a lot more biases and myths than you might think you have to. Intersexism/compulsory dyadism shows up in a lot of small ways, like the fact there's only M and F boxes in forms, jokes about micropenises, beauty standards about body hair, and more. Keep an eye out for all these ways our society props up the sex binary, even though it's a myth.
Avoid DSD terminology, referring to "male" and "female" bodies, calling intersex a "third sex" and never use the h slur. Other terminology that isn't always bad, but often gets misused that can be good to keep an eye out for: AFAB/AMAB, biological sex (when people say that gender is socially constructed but sex is biological).
Research if there are intersex organizations in your country and join their email list! That's a great way to stay informed about if there's any current initiatives, protests, legislative proposals, or other forms of activism you can get involved in.
Speak up when you see intersexism in every space you're in, whether that's people advocating for normalizing surgery, using the h-slur, or otherwise talking in ways that dehumanize or isolate intersex people.
Figure out a way to bring intersex awareness to the spaces that you're in! Whether this is putting up posters for Intersex Awareness day in October in your neighborhood, work, and community spaces, hosting an event at an organization or club about intersex topics, watching an intersex film with your friends, even something like making intersex pride stuff for the Sims if that's a hobby of yours--those are all great ways to introduce more people to intersex topics.
Listen to the intersex people in your life about how to support them! A lot of intersex people have a lot of very different experiences, needs, and wants. We don't have universal experiences and there are many different opinions on things in the intersex community. A lot of us are also multiply marginalized and our intersex identities are shaped by that.
If other intersex followers have tips, please feel free to add on!

Currently ruminating after my third listen of The Magnus Archives, and I needed to put my thoughts into words. Because after 3 listens and 4 years after first discovering the series, I still don't know how to feel about Melanie King.
On my first listen, I thought my opinions on the characters were pretty set: John is sympathetic. Tim is annoying but ultimately tragic. Martin is sweet and misunderstood. Etc.
I absolutely DESPISED Melanie on my first listen. Her seeming lack of self awareness with her anger issues. her constant deflecting and accusing, and even her last conversation with Martin where she's snide, all got under my skin and made me hate this character.
Part of all that was because I was still pretty new to horror as a genre (I am admittedly a pretty big scaredy cat), and further, my unfamiliarity with the more narrow genre of cosmic horror. I had someone put it to me this way: "It's horror. Everyone and everything sucks. That's the point."
On my second listen of the series, I was surprised by how much changed. John was no longer sympathetic to me, but a mechanism in his own self destruction, who essentially used the "but I'm just a little guy with glasses uwu, and it's my birthday, I'm the birthday boy" defense every time he was called out. Tim was no longer annoying, but an example of someone shutting down, mentally and emotionally, in the face of discovering what (to a very small extent) was going on. Which now, is totally fair. Crumpling like a paper doll under the weight of pure horror is actually an understandable response (who knew). And Martin... is still sweet... but is also a people-pleasing asshole.
But Melanie was... different. I definitely softened on her character. Entering a period of my life where I was FINALLY starting to acknowledge my own history of anger issues and mental disorders probably helped, and I will admit there was projection from my part.
But now, after my third listen, it seems like there's this weird aspect of the series, especially season 5, where every character needs to address their own toxicity in order to admit they've done wrong. Everyone, except Melanie.
John tells Martin about Gertrude's shortcomings, and how being a cold stone bad-ass didn't make her a good person, and that she was willing to throw away innocent people for the "greater good". Martin LITERALLY self reflects, and his other self calls him out on how much of John's behavior he's willing to excuse. Hell, even Helen goads John into revealing that he's no better than her in the hotel. In the end, he was just as "hungry" as every other monster. He even admits this to Martin.
But the most we get from Melanie is "I've actually done a lot of work on my anger." Which, would be great, except...
Melanie King gave Johnathan Sims the mark of The Slaughter, and she is partially responsible for the apocalypse that is created.
I am not the first, nor will I be the last, to draw the comparison that the unknowable forces and systems that make up the horrors of TMA, are meant to represent capitalism. I personally would make the distinction that the analogy is better made as a comparison to the abuse of power in general, but to a lot of people, those are the same thing. And one argument I have seen in Melanie's defense, is that by willingly blinding herself, she is removing herself from the fucked up game that is being played, and is a better person for it. That by choosing not to participate in "capitalism", she is one of the few people that grows. But... does she? Is that how that works? If we remove analogy from the story at all, would we say that a billionaire who wakes up one day and decides to redistribute all their money and help people is absolved of all the pain they have caused in the past?
I think part of the reason why, even after softening on Melanie because of my own experiences with anger and lack of personal security, the conversation between Melanie and Martin STILL makes me angry, even after 3 listens.
The end of season 4 is basically a confirmation of it, but I would argue John confronting Jude Perry is a secondary confirmation, that John had to be "marked" by each of the powers in order for Jonas' plan to work. He even outright states it "Did you know this would happen when you burned my hand?" Jane Prentiss marked John with The Corruption. Jared Hopworth marked John with The Flesh. But Melanie's involvement in the state of the world, is never brought up. And it's not just the state of the world in season 5 either. I find it very interesting that Melanie's therapist is specifically being tormented by The Spiral. And yeah, you could make the argument that it's BECAUSE she's a therapist, like the series does, but I also think it's interesting that when The Spiral tries to claim her (Melanie's therapist) again, it's done so through Helen, who Melanie literally and figuratively opened the door for. Melanie's actions have consequences, and they DO affect other people, but the most we ever get from her is "I've been working on my anger", which feels... unfinished. And unsatisfying, given her character as a whole is essentially an exploration of anger issues. I don't really buy the logic of the framing of the series (we as the audience only hear what's relevant to The Web), or that just because it's horror, some people are shitty and some answers are unsatisfying. Because I no longer believe Melanie is shitty. I believe she's a complicated character who goes through so much shit in order to feel safe and self-actualized.
But that doesn't excuse her past actions. And it's weird that those actions are never challenged, when other characters who have histories of being abusive, like Daisy and Basira, VERY MUCH ARE.
So... I don't know if this rant really had a point, other than just me trying to motivate myself to write down my thoughts instead of festering in my own head. I don't know if there's a point to be had at all. All I know is I've listened to the Magnus Archives, all 200 episodes, three times,
and I still don't know how I feel about Melanie King.

for the 5 sentence fic game - malex (Max/Alex), forgiveness? if it's not too out of ur depth :3
ok this was such a good prompt that i bust past 5 sentences and just kept going. so…here we go:
————
Forgiveness
a max/alex drabble, rated g
When Max meets Alex again, it’s a crisp autumn day — the kind where the leaves curl in on themselves, as if holding a secret. What secret, Max doesn’t know, but he has never really been in the habit of keeping many secrets.
The park is not where he expects to see Alex. But that’s the thing about parks. They’re a central nervous system for cities. City planners used to design with this in mind, before cars took over. Max remembers this fact from an encyclopaedia that he used to read, under blanket with a torchlight, when he still had the time to, during karting.
And now, Alex is in the park. Alex is older. Hair the same, if longer than it used to be in their F1 days. Face clean-shaven, but sharper in the cut of his jaw. Eyes, still creasing upwards when he sees a thing he likes.
As it turns out, Alex smiled a lot more when he left Red Bull. His smile practically a quantum force of its own when he finally won a GP.
And as it turns out, to his surprise, Max may be one of the things Alex also likes.
“Is that really you?” Alex exclaims, hands tucked in his pockets, wool scarf loose on his neck. Max feels somehow underdressed in his nondescript hoodie. Being a five time world champion, even over a decade later, meant people would stop you for photos.
“It’s me, mate.”
Alex makes a noise that seems like delight. They do the bro hug, and he animatedly explains that Lily is in Shanghai for a project involving augmented reality home golfing that is run through a mobile phone holoprojector. He rambles a little bit about weather — which for some reason the English still are obsessed with — and Alex asks whether Monaco has changed much (Max tells him it hasn’t).
“Are you heading up to Milton Keynes?” Alex says.
There is no loadedness behind the question. Max has only been back to Milton Keynes for Redline work since he retired.
One thing about Alex is that he was always carefully guarded when he needed to be. But Max never found him truly capable of ill intent.
“No,” Mad says. “I’m actually here because Pen has a thing about horses now. I have a break from touring stables and such.”
“Horses! Ah! There’s this great place down by Richmond, the owner’s an old classmate of mine. Let me pass it to you.”
Classic Alex. Always trying to help out, be nice, create a connection. So Max grabs his phone from his pocket, and lets Alex fuss around with it.
So the task is done, and there isn’t much to do now but move on. That is what Max has done well. Move on, in a way that he knows how, eking out a place for himself in Sim driver development and helping others learn the ropes. Much like Alex clearly has too, remaining as advisor to his last team.
Max finds himself reflecting on the younger men they were so long ago. Max was a lot more impulsive then. Quick to anger, a hunger inside him with so much to prove. But every person who did what they did always had the hunger. It just manifested in a lot of different ways.
And the interaction is nearing its end. But Max still can’t quite find a way to make his legs move. Around them, someone occasionally jogs past, and there are some ducks quacking happily at a nearby pond. It is peaceful.
Alex’s phone buzzes. He glances down at it, brows creasing in concern.
“Sorry, there’s some emergency at home involving my five year old and…” Alex squints at his phone. “A muffin tray of glitter. George is always far too lenient with his godson.”
Max smiles. “I heard about that. George, I mean. Not the glitter. I am not psychic.”
“That would explain your super-powered abilities, wouldn’t it?”
“Ha!” Max says, and he means it. “Anyway, I remember exactly how it is. That age.”
Alex smiles back knowingly.
The leaves rustle in the trees. The ducks are still quacking. The sun peeks out from behind a cloud, warming them both.
It is comfortable, in the way Alex always makes people feel, since the Williams years.
Max stops his leg from twitching.
“Listen, Alex. I never got a chance to say it before.”
“Say what?”
“That I…”
And Max finds himself pondering it. What does he mean? That he’s sorry? Sorry that a formula one team only truly ever has enough room for one person? That he should have asked how Alex was, like how he makes a point to do so now, with all his Redline youngsters? That he wishes he had called or texted him in the intervening years to see how he was, that he wishes they had stayed in touch? That he misses his old cars more than anything in the world, even if he’s happy with what he’s done and the way the puzzle pieces of his life have landed, and he always wonders if other drivers did too?
Max swallows a lump in his throat that he didn’t know was there. In the end, he says exactly what is on his mind.
“I’m really glad that you seem well.”
If that’s not the answer Alex was expecting, he doesn’t show it. He always seems borderline spiritual these days. As if he’s discovered a secret and invites you to understand it. A little bit like a monk, but one who definitely drives over the speed limit. (Max saw that video: a special karting one Alex did for family content, and he still carves a magnificent line.)
The monk in question smiles. It’s warm, like the sun. How lucky for those who grow close enough to Alex, to feel it.
And in that sage, still boyish way of his— surrounded by ducks, subjected to the inclement weather, in the artery of the place where worlds meet — Alex tells Max, back:
“I’m glad for us, too.”
————
from prompt thing here except i will actually try to stick to 5 sentences for the next one(s)
#malex#max verstappen x alex albon#wiz.writing#f1 rpf#first thing I’ve written in over a month!!! thank you anon.#drabble#wiz.askbox#wiz.promptfill#also#first time I’ve written these two and it’s fun <3#future fics as a vehicle for reminiscence have been on my mind lately#so thanks for gifting me an opportunity to let it out a little

voting (a balanced take? hopefully)
disclaimer: I don’t usually do this. I’m still very young and learning about the world and this is all pretty surface level observation— but I wanted to try and say something anyways—it’s likely imperfect and there is probably nuance I’ve missed. Also, this is mostly geared towards my fellow USAmericans.
I have been guilty of sharing sentiment with “vote blue no matter who, VOTE VOTE” posts, and being gripped with a sense of fear and urgency like no other. I understand. Project 2025, the ideals of Trump’s platform (lots of the immigration ideas eerily close to Proposition 187…) are very scary.
But let’s slow down. Others have said if we’re voting out of fear and as if we have no other choice, then it’s no better than having no choice as all. I have to agree.
In my opinion, while emotion does push people to act and is a good motivator, I feel much better choosing on my own rather than being pressured or guilted by others.
After all, no one can truly force another to do something they don’t want to—but we can discuss, debate, and change minds.
Instead of saying it’s impossible, let’s consider a third party candidate, specifically one that is explicitly pro-Palestine. In my opinion, it’s tough, especially for these reasons:
- No matter how you look at it four months is a short period of time. We might have less than four months, some ballots are printed and solidified early, according to AOC’s Instagram Live Talk. (link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C9l41vgOAGj/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link)
- Many people have not heard of these third party candidates— I had not been familiar with Jill Stein or Claudia de la Cruz before today. Do many people know of the members of Congress who have already called for ceasefire? (https://workingfamilies.org/ceasefire-tracker/) Tumblr endorsements help and I appreciate the information on other platforms regardless, but what about people who are mostly offline?
- There’d need to be a robust and wide-spreading social media, news, TV and more campaign to get enough people informed in such a short time, much less get them on board and overcome the substantial opposition already faced by the pro-Palestine movement in general. Campaign managers need to be paid salaries. Transportation, advertising, food, gas… it costs a lot of money. A lot of people are already struggling financially and donating what they can— and donations to Gaza E-SIMs and evacuation funds help people right now. (By the way, plugging Operation Olive Branch: https://linktr.ee/opolivebranch)
- Even if they do get elected, it can’t be just the president— they will face extreme pushback, likely from all sides, and they need House and Congress and Court members on their side to make not only foreign policy shifts but also other systemic changes to society that are dearly needed.
For now, I’m voting blue because I think it’s our best shot at something better… but if someone has a detailed plan on how to turn a third-party candidate from improbable to possible that addresses these issues in concrete ways, then maybe the conversation can change. The time crunch, however, is extremely tough.
What now?
- Vote. Even if nothing about this post changes your opinion on the presidential election, I’d encourage you to vote, just for voter turnout and to exercise that political power! There are still nonpresedential and local elections that will directly impact your community. (https://www.usa.gov/confirm-voter-registration)
- Continue to advocate for causes you believe in and educate others, and learn about issues outside just the US.
- Being confident in the best action to take and trying to convince others to vote blue shouldn’t mean dismissing criticism of our current institutions and the current Democratic candidate, or attacking people who bring up these criticisms (of course, check for sources and records first!) These conversations should be ongoing.
- Try to fact-check everything you hear and dispel misinformation as much as possible!
- Continue to consider pushing alternative voting methods such as Ranked Choice Voting—I haven’t read into it enough to say more concrete details, but something has got to change 😭
- Share resources whenever you can, and take care of yourself and others :)

Before Tiff got pregnant during her affair with Hector Laurent, she was married to someone else.
Ty Harper was a head writer for the notoriously slimy gossip magazine Plumbright. Him and his equally scummy wife were a perfect match… until she left his ass for a richer man.
Ty met Holly Alto while trying to get some dirt on one of the other artists at the gallery she was showcasing her latest pieces in. While she found him charming, and he found her simply enchanting, she couldn't be with someone who exploited celebrities like her.
Ty took some time to reevaluate his morals. He loved writing, but he loved Holly more. He quit his position at Plumbright the day before he asked her to marry him.
He's now at a lower staff position at the Del Sol Times, but he doesn't regret giving up that life for a second.
Holly loved and accepted Ty, regardless of his infertility. Tiff never wanted to adopt or have a science baby, but Holly was open to whatever ways they could start a family together.
A couple years after they got married, they adopted their little Ashley and life has been good.
Looking back, Tiff had been a really toxic partner. She brought out the worst in Ty and only cared about the status he brought her, and the things he could buy her. Holly loves his ambition, his spirit, his heart.
And hey, the woohoo's pretty good too.
Ty: Hey, you, quit distracting me. I'm supposed to be working from home. That fluff piece on the Llama Scout who helped an old lady weed her garden isn't gonna write itself.
Holly: Oh, come on, you write for the biggest newspaper out there. Lots of Sims would kill for your job.
Ty: I know, I know. I just wanna write about something BIG, y'know? I went from writing trashy gossip to the filler they put in the pages people line their dog's kennel with.
Holly: You're gonna get your big break someday, baby.
Ty: I already did when I met you.
Holly: You are just too much, Ty. Now go on, get to work. I'll be helping Ashley with her science project.
Ty: Try not to blow anything up this time.
Holly: Thankfully it's a model of the solar system, so we're just painting, but I'll still try.
Ty pulls out his notes from the Llama Scout interview and opens up a new document to get started on his next assigned feature.
He's got everything he needs, but he just feels… uninspired. Writing gossipy trash was easy. This is easy too, but… it's too easy.
As Ty continues to stare at his blank document, bracing himself to write some uninspired garbage hardly anyone will read, he can hear a loud knock on the front door.
Holly: Babe, can you get that? I've got paint on my hands.
Sure, he needs a break from doing nothing.
Ty is greeted not by a Sim, but by a bunch of documents. He wasn't expecting a delivery like this, but it looks like a bit of a rush job. The writing on the side of the storage box is… really blurry for some reason. Like this is super classified stuff, and not just low-poly.
The girls are still preoccupied, so Ty locks himself in the main bedroom to pour over these documents. There's so much information to go over, but it all links back to one very powerful Sim, and they piece together something HUGE.
Why was HE of all Sims trusted with this?
Ty doesn't know why the Watcher blessed him with this gold mine of pure evidence, but there's one thing he's certain about.
Ty: Oh I am DEFINITELY getting promoted when my boss hears this exclusive scoop.

So, here you have him. Gen 4 heir Kit Dreamer is a young adult. Yay! Now that Aska is born and he is a young adult, he's going to use his real name again and he also has stopped dying his hair. He actually likes the haircut though, so for now, he's going to keep it. He just needs to check if it's in line with the military guidelines.
---
I know I had a post with his generation's goals recently when he ran away with Penny, but just because, here is everything again:
Generation IV: The Paladin
“Whatever their origin and their mission, paladins are united by their oaths to stand against the forces of evil. Whether sworn before a god’s altar and the witness of a priest, in a sacred glade before nature spirits and fey beings, or in a moment of desperation and grief with the dead as the only witness, a paladin’s oath is a powerful bond. It is a source of power that turns a devout warrior into a blessed champion.” - The Player’s Handbook
Your parents did their best to offer you direction, but often their advice was “follow your heart” and “listen to your gut”. You took this in to your own hands, and decided there must be a more concrete way to view life: There must be good, and there must be bad, and bad can never be too far away. You devote your life to solidifying your moral code, and immortalising it all in writing.
Traits: Self-Assured, Family-Oriented and Snob
Aspiration: Successful Lineage
Career: Military (Officer branch) (SV) and/or writing royalties
Goals:
Max the writing and parenting (P) skills -> just started
Earn the Argumentative (P) trait to help you further your cause -> DONE
Always stand up to Evil and/or Mean Sims, you should never have a positive relationship with Sims who have these traits -> Ongoing, but Kit has been doing this since he was a teen
Whatever your offspring roll is for this generation, add three -> You'll see at the end of this post... It'll be a challenge!
Always help your offspring with their homework and school projects
Because I play on a longer lifespan (I used to kinda double the ‘normal’ lifespan with MCCC, as the ‘long’ lifespan just is a bit too long, but now I have a system where every human year equals 3 sim days approximately), I have added some extra goals for myself for this generation too:
Complete the aspiration ‘Bestselling Author’ -> not started yet, I'm planning on Penny starting a writing career first and inspiring Kit to write too
Get the ‘Energetic’ lifestyle -> in progress, but with the running away and the pregnancy, this faded to the background a bit
All toddlers max out all toddler skills (to get the ‘Top Notch Toddler’ trait), extra fitting for his generation -> not started yet :-)
All teens max out the scouting career -> not started yet :-)
Offspring roll: 5 + 3 (Yup, that's 8! 8 kiddo's... I hope Penny will be fine with this, because these two are endgame to me)

a year from liam’s main verse, liam & roxy’s future holds them reuniting and jointly working on an endeavor known as the web! the web is a multiversal platform for spider heroes and spider friends alike and the technology behind it could be compared to a sim card in a phone, as it allows for connection on a massive scale. this project takes them months and even years to perfect. it is constantly a work in progress, and has to be revised continuously in order to keep working out the issues that obviously come with something meant to cross universes.
after traversing universes, and taking extensive notes while in them, liam and roxy establish a database of known universes, putting the field notes to use. the whole purpose of it is to bring people together— it’s not meant for power or for control over situations, but rather just to pull together a community of like-powered people. in a story so heavily about community, it's only right they pull together their own on a grand scale. there’s so much out there and people need help!
liam has made friends in so many places and a part of liam is content with never seeing any of them again and keeping things separate bc the universe has to have rules and they’re just some ~20 years old who dropped out of college. the other part of liam is like “fuck it” and boom. the web— an entire database system focused on cataloging the multiverse with the help of spiders and helping other heroes when and where they’re needed.
as for the actual, multiverse jumping— considering other multiverse travel (ie mcu) doesn’t play into the glitch idea that spider-verse does, im not sure yet what the technology would look like but maybe it would have a gadget too— if not for getting rid of the glitch then at least like a pocket guide pokedex style. maybe the web fucks up life as they all know it and the universe isn’t meant to be handled this way but maybe it also doesn’t fuck up life and now there’s a handful of spiders having dinner once a month in liam’s workspace
#birdie takes artistic liberties with science and communication systems its comic and movie logic lets not think too hard about it#early bird(ie) challenge#lk. believe / headcanons#other half / dyn. liam & roxy

Okay. Project Gorgon, + Degrees of Lewdity.
This would be the greatest game of all time.
First of all, they already have a ton of overlap. Both are crude, sexual, go for a "classic" aesthetic, grindy, have an obsessive love of overly-dynamic skill systems, and are highly niche, but beloved by their communities.
Dol is a porn game, with surprisingly decent writing, a variety of interesting love interests, and fantastic character customization. It uses clickable links to progress through the game, with these cute little webcore sprite art symbols next to them to help differentiate at a glance. It has a huge emphasis on fetish content, like rape, bestiality, and prostitution- but has a surprising amount of soft and sweet moments as well, if you put in the effort to find them. And it does take effort- the game will kick your teeth in if you don't know what you're doing. It's all about the slow accumulation of mastery, as you figure out the most efficient path to becoming rich and powerful, while assembling kick-ass outfits, upgrading your home and the town infrastructure, and getting into the hearts and pants of the love interests.
(God DAMN the outfits are so cute. If I owned this hoodie in real life, I might wear it even when it's hot out. And I HATE the heat.)
The other day I figured out that jerking folks off at the glory hole with my feet raises my feet skill really quickly- which lets me walk in high-heels more reliably- which do extra damage when I kick people in fights. Incredible.
Gorgon is an MMORPG with some of the worst graphics you'll ever see in a game that manages to still be worth playing. There's no way to properly pitch it in short-form, because it does nothing particularly notable- it has exactly zero stand-out qualities. However, it's more than the sum of it's parts. The skill system is HIGHLY dynamic, encouraging you to do anything and everything, because it all feeds into everything else. Raising one skill often raises another, and the different combat skills often have weak spots that are covered by other skills. It is very had to convey how satisfying it feels by just explaining it like this though. It's like Cookie Clicker- just describing the game doesn't get across the psychological experience of playing it.
It also lets you play as animals. And have sex with some of the NPCs, albeit off-screen. But it DID acknowledge that I fucked Rappanel the elf while in wolf form.
(...Well, I thought it did. Checked the wiki to remember his name, and it turns out that's just the dialogue he has since my character is a Rakshasa (catfolk). But, he does acknowledge it if you fuck him in cow form, which is fully feral, so my point stands.)
Anyway, the devs seem to think very much alike.
Combined, I present to you: Project Lewdity.
A pornographic fantasy MMORPG. The closest thing you'll ever get to a playable version of The Erogame. I'm thinking turn-based erotic JRPG battles like how DoL already operates, but with the higher complexity, 3D graphics, and more monstrous foes, offered by Gorgon. But it's also a straight-up life sim. Both the games already have gardening and cooking, DoL has housekeeping while Gorgon has civic responsibility, both have relationship dynamic systems, etc.
It takes place primarily in one town like DoL, but that town is huge, full of little areas to explore, and characters to romance in a almost Harvest Moon like style.
Meanwhile, we keep the cute pixel graphics for the items and menus... maybe the characters, clothing, and monsters as well, but keep the 3D environments, like Octopath Traveler? (Never played that game, but I do like the look.)
...I'm having trouble describing this vision. Now that I've lain it all out like this, I see that they're so similar already- fusing them, all I can think is "Project Gorgon, but you fuck the monsters, and the skill system and cooking is even more expansive, and with actual characters, cute sprite art, and lots of clothing options." I guess that's what this really boils down to. And yeah, that would be like the greatest game ever basically.

✦ Sexism and the Gendered Lens of Deviance
Women comprise approximately half of the global population, yet they are often treated as a minority in societal structures, discourses, and power dynamics. This discrepancy is not only visible in representation and access to opportunity, but also in the way gender roles are constructed and enforced through systems of social control. For example, Wikipedia—while not a peer-reviewed source—offers insight into popular definitions. Its entry on femininity states that femininity is related to “women’s and girls’ sexual appeal to men” and is associated with “sexual passiveness,” suggesting women’s value lies in how they are perceived by men (Wikipedia, 2023). These ideas reflect the enduring influence of the male gaze and the objectification of women as passive recipients of male attention.
Postmodern and feminist theories of deviance argue that women are subject to more stringent forms of social control than men (Smart, 1976; Heidensohn, 1985). Deviance is not simply the act of breaking rules, but a judgement about who gets to break them. Women who deviate from prescribed gender roles—being assertive, sexual, or authoritative—are often labelled “deviant,” whereas men may be celebrated for the same traits. Historically and currently, women have been systematically marginalised and oppressed. O'Brien (2017) illustrates this in educational contexts, noting that college students perceive the same material differently depending on whether it is taught by a white man or a woman of colour. The white man is seen as “apolitical,” “in control,” and “authoritative,” while women—especially women of colour—are often seen as “biased,” “overly emotional,” or “lacking credibility.” This perception reveals the subjective freedom afforded to men, and the restrictions imposed on women’s identity and voice.
✦ Everyday Experiences of Sexual Harassment
Statistically, women are more likely than men to experience sexual and domestic violence (AIHW, 2023). Yet sexual harassment is frequently minimised or normalised. Catcalling, inappropriate touching, and unsolicited comments are often brushed off as harmless or excused as “boys being boys.” Victim-blaming rhetoric—such as “she was asking for it” or “look how she was dressed”—continues to shift accountability from perpetrators to survivors.
These patterns are not abstract. In my own experience, harassment in public, workplaces, and schools often came disguised as praise or concern. At a primary school swimming carnival, a much older man I had never met touched my backside under the guise of adjusting my swimsuit tag. I felt violated. In high school, male teachers lingered in their touches while praising students. At 18, I was told to unload stock where older men had positioned themselves to comment on my body. These experiences illustrate how seemingly “innocent” actions can have a deep psychological impact. No one should be entitled to someone else's body. Bystanders who remain silent in the face of harassment become complicit in enabling it.
✦ Technology and Gendered Surveillance
One of my first encounters with digital technology was a pink Motorola flip phone with no SIM card—just Snake and a pixelated camera. Fast-forward to 2019: nearly 48% of children aged 6–13 in Australia had access to mobile phones (ABC News, Sparkes, 2019). As the eSafety Commissioner notes, today’s smartphones are “essentially supercomputers” and expose children to risks such as cyberbullying, predation, and inappropriate content (Grant in Sparkes, 2019). Technology has revolutionised our lives, connecting us in both micro and macro ways. But it has also introduced new avenues for discrimination, particularly for marginalised groups. Online hate speech, digital exclusion, and algorithmic bias mirror—and often amplify—real-world oppression.
However, the internet can also be a powerful tool for resistance. Social media has helped mobilise movements such as Black Lives Matter, #MeToo, Free the Nipple, and Not All Men, giving voice to the silenced and visibility to the excluded. Hashtags create digital momentum, allowing marginalised communities to demand justice, visibility, and change.
✦ Instagram’s Unequal Censorship: Sex Work and Platform Power
Instagram’s opaque content moderation policies have made it a hostile platform for sex workers and marginalised users. While terms and conditions prohibit “sexually explicit” content, enforcement is inconsistent. Posts that contain nudity, sexual language, or even certain emojis may be flagged or removed, with no warning. Meanwhile, accounts from multinational brands such as Calvin Klein or the Kardashians remain largely untouched despite similar or more provocative imagery.
This disparity raises critical questions about power, censorship, and corporate control. Sex workers, who rely on platforms like Instagram to promote their labour and safety, face frequent shadow bans and permanent account removals. As Koster (2017) notes, this digital stigmatisation mirrors the offline marginalisation of sex workers, who face significantly higher rates of sexual violence—between 32% to 55% annually, according to international statistics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many sex workers were excluded from government aid and forced to adapt to online platforms for income (Kibbe, 2020). Instagram’s policies thus represent not just censorship, but a threat to safety, autonomy, and livelihood.
The contradiction is striking: while mainstream corporations profit from aesthetics drawn from sex work, actual sex workers are penalised for existing online. These policies perpetuate the idea that sexuality is only acceptable when it serves corporate or heteronormative interests.
✦ Conclusion: Reclaiming Space, Redefining Norms
Whether in public, education, or digital spaces, women and marginalised groups continue to be scrutinised, silenced, and devalued. From the male gaze to online censorship, from everyday harassment to institutional control, these experiences are interconnected. The systems that enforce gendered and racial inequality are both visible and invisible—encoded in social norms, media algorithms, and the unspoken rules of who gets to speak, teach, or be seen.
To challenge these norms, we must name them. We must disrupt the silence of bystanders, resist digital erasure, and call out power imbalances wherever they exist. Creating safe, inclusive, and equitable space both online and offline, requires not only awareness, but action.

Humanoids Are Coming: Nvidia’s Plan to Train the Next Generation of Robots
The GTC 2025 event hosted Nvidia’s introduction of Project GR00T (Generalist Robot 00 Technology). With the help of Nvidia, the dream of having humanoid robots that can walk, learn, and talk to humans will soon become a reality. Nvidia described how AI-infused humanoid robots will possess the capabilities of ‘general purpose’.
Nvidia’s development on humanoid robotics is backed by GR00T N1, claiming to be the world’s first open-source model. Functions claimed for GR00T N1 include simulative environments specially crafted to train generalist robots. The goal for these is to allow Robots to perform intricate tasks such as humans the execution of natural language and various visual cues.
Tackling the Sphere of Robotics Autonomy
Nvidia captures this objective through ‘Dual-System Intelligence’ by mimicking the human brain. The purpose of using ‘vision language models’ is enabling robots to respond to commands such as ‘tide a string’, and in turn perceive the provided information through sight.
Plans working hand in hand with real-time fluids commanding movements greatly fosters the flexibility in providing robotic tasks. Simulating pre-set commands makes execution at a human-like level possible.
Accelerating Learning with High-Fidelity Simulation
Physically training a humanoid robot is costly, time-consuming, and fraught with dangers. Nvidia has designed Isaac Lab and Isaac Sim for deep learning architecture that enable automated robotics training for fast-paced virtual environments, which makes the entire training process effortless and safe.
Moreover, these robots can undergo the equivalent of one year of physical training in just 50 minutes. This enhanced efficiency is courtesy of Nvidia’s Virtual Dojo, where simulations work ten thousand times faster than real-life. Robots can perfect their movements, learn from failures, and adapt to various surroundings in a simulated environment.
Teaching Robots Like Children: Mimicry and Synthetic Data
Nvidia’s implementation plan has one of the cool features of transferring motion and behavior to robots and giving them a human touch. Human movements are recorded using teleoperation via marked devices like Apple Vision Pro. Primary actions are captured for the purpose of creating teaching units.
But that is just the beginning. GR00T-Mimic and GR00T-Dreams, Nvidia’s tools, can create boundless extra training models based on simple illustrative human actions. Robots are able to learn through numerous virtual experiences without human involvement as these models use AI-generated videos to mimic fresh actions.
This method not only accelerates progress but also guarantees that the robots are trained on diverse, high-quality datasets representing myriad scenarios.
Partnerships With Robotics Industry Leaders
Nvidia is not single-handedly pursuing this vision. Nvidia collaborates with various robotics companies that are integrating GR00T into their next-generation humanoid prototypes:
1X Technologies demonstrated their robot, “NEOGamma,” utilizing GR00T’s learned motions to clean GR00T’s simulated environments.
Neura Robotics is incorporating Isaac GR00T into their 4NE-1 humanoid robot, designed for both domestic and industrial use.
These partnerships underscore Nvidia’s holistic vision and expanding ecosystem for robotic applications.
An Insight into the Development of Robotics
Nvidia aims to increase the accessibility of humanoid robotics through GR00T. Providing open-source models, a modular simulation environment, and comprehensive training resources, Nvidia empowers global developers, researchers, and startups to advance the intelligence, safety, and functionality of humanoid devices.
Humanoid robots powered by Nvidia’s GR00T platform are poised to permeate daily life, ranging from smart homes and industrial facilities to warehouses and healthcare sectors. And this is just the start.
As Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang expressed, “AI will redefine robotics the same way it redefined computing. And next in line are humanoids.”

Research: Engines used in Simulation
Various simulation games, and even training simulators, utilise different game engines to power their simulation mechanics. I have chosen to additionally look into this subject as I have multiple possible choices for Game Engines to use, and some inspiration and support with choosing which one using research would be useful in preparing my project proposal and ideas.
An example of a game that I personally play in the simulation genre, as mentioned previously, is Realistic Boiling Water Reactor Simulator. This game utilises the Roblox game engine (T.Folse Nuclear, 2023). I cannot find much information about the reason why this is, but I intend to reach out to the creator. I mention this game because it is both something I enjoy and find engaging, while also it utilises a game engine that I know and have been using for many years. I am far more proficient in Roblox development than I am with Unreal Engine, and as a result this game naturally interests me.
Both RBWR's concept and the fact that it is created in Roblox is quite inspiring to me and exploring the Simulation genre in a game or project developed in Roblox would be interesting to me. I will discuss this idea further in a later post discussing which game engine I intend to use, as I believe this will be dependent on my chosen idea.
Another simulation-genre game that I have played is Train Sim World; this game allows players to simulate driving a train in various different environments and routes. The game appeals to many audiences, allowing players to adapt the experience to their liking, for example by enabling or disabling safety systems that may not interest those who aren't interested specifically in railways or trains (Jensen, 2024). I find this particularly interesting as it helps engage players and provides them with a wide variety of ways to play the game, without spoiling players for choice, much like Microsoft Flight Simulator (mentioned in a previous post).
The game series itself utilises Unreal Engine (Peel, 2017). This is another engine that I have experience with (from previous projects) and the various mechanics and features of Train Sim World represent an experience that I would like to create as part of my FMP.
I have noted that most other simulation games that I personally play use their own proprietary engine. An example is Teardown, which uses their own proprietary engine to simulate destruction physics and light ray tracing (Tuxedo Labs, n.d.). This is most likely not possible during the time frame of this project, so I have looked mainly into games which use engines available to me.
These game engines, as mentioned previously, will influence my design decisions throughout the project as whichever I choose will determine my programming and design styles as my knowledge in each varies.

Forza Horizon 2 Games for PC
Forza Horizon 1 & 2 Online Services Closure
You're required to meet a lot of like-minded persons to talk about the Horizon adventure with. Online Freeroam makes it possible for anyone in addition to several additional gamblers to widely compete in a Horizon consequences associated with your own pick out. The On the web Road Excursion permits you as well as a gaggle of new gamblers for you to compete against 1 another while travelling all over European union as well as competing in a variety of occasion. For taking a photo, stop the experience then go for the Photograph Function tile for the Household tabs. Every time anyone create a photo of a new car, the Horizon Festivity PR crew prize people with Honor.

To start a celebration, drive to a celebration service, pick the settings, with lose time waiting for different gamblers to join. Beat as a result of walls onto back region grime treks, plow however spheres involving scalps as well as heavy forests, along with discover brand new shortcuts upon the thrilling, high-speed voyages. Acquire attempts as well as acquire incentives for showing off the take talents in addition to model. Forza Horizon 2 becomes a smaller amount simulation focused than Forza 5, nevertheless it still have got a lot of realism and also tuning choices pertaining to detailed-oriented battle lovers. Relaxed racers like me personally could clearly run and possess an incredible time period because of the ability to toggle the collection involving passion aids like racing guides and also a rewind work.
The obviously a activity that will wants you to definitely earn, generate, earn to help you devote, spend, invest, although while using the exact top car or truck priced to the thousand, you’ll ought to spend less significantly as a way to acquire powering the circle. The idea likely to certainly be a hard season with regard to battle match, with sim hopeful Project Autos, dedicated on the web "CarPG" The Crew afterward the group score-attack involving DriveClub almost all jostling regarding focus. Horizon 2 places a intimidatingly large except for all games to meet up with about every front, however in a single part it seems unbeatable.
Pending the second phases several other motorists end up being ever before consistent enough to give you an authentic struggle from the champion, consequently somebody in search of more of your challenge ought to go out rewinds as well as button about whole destruction. Despite realising complete properly the auto in the front isn’t really ending up being powered in Stuff‘s assessments manager Tom Parsons I even can’t service yet desire to overcom that a lot more than if it absolutely was perfectly several nameless drone.
Populating single-player with realistic motorists (as their issues you can change from the Settings) is great, nevertheless the rivals system fewer consequently. When you carry out a rush, the overall game inquires if you'd choose to run a similar battle yet again against an individual rival Drivatar. Replicating exactly the same event experiences redundant, specially when the XP and Recognition incentives pertaining to rival races paler when compared with standard celebrations. You possibly can additionally obstacle any drivatar anyone knowledge while totally free roaming, yet once again, it's generally unnecessary on account of the inadequate pays back.
Forza Horizon 2/Day 1 Edition
Experience occur linked with car or truck sorts – super vehicles, lean muscle car or truck, SUVs along with the like – also it solely takes in 15 challenges to help achieve one more platform from the brave. Nonetheless, with practically 170 tournaments containing completely beneath 700 functions, there’s a misery of any group to complete despite you’ve range the culmination – as well as most satisfying if similar by means of character. Forza Horizon 2 incorporates over 700 celebrations, while using calculation associated with barrier-less combination land races that let up to 12 gamblers to help play a part. Forza’s managing feels almost sleek by path, yet run on the will get as well as dust and it also feels floaty and difficult to manage. This really is intensified because of the occasion design and style itself, that requires correct manage for you to steer by means of unforgivably narrow checkpoint living space. It’s a lot in a situation involving tribunal and error while using rewind button, which often grows to be annoying once your AI challengers face simply no care in any respect while winding during every course. As you could anticipate, Forza Horizon 2's 50 Achievements typically entail finishing every one of the Titles, appeal in every highway, learn all the vintages, etc.

The one graphic issue I really could do may be the rare pop-in associated with pavement leaves any time sink at peak swiftnesses. Considerably of that independence entails checking out the synthetic European country. You possibly can send all over over 300 special ways, as a result of area, beyond adventures, connects, an international airport, plus much more. Spread throughout the chart end up being numerous varieties of valuables to find, including symptoms to breach for XP or "quickly take a trip" reductions, as well as sheds. Each time you get a whole new barn, you'll encounter and also unlock a new free car or truck on the inside this. In search of these vintage accomplishes sense that a undertaking, both, given that search can be a high perhaps the game's appeal.
Luckily, Forza Horizon 2 (like Forza 5) employs the energy from the foriegn to build Drivatars – AI motorist accounts – using the battle styles of precise gamblers. As you cruise the boulevard in addition to terrain connected with Horizon 2, you'll expertise AI story of your current real Xbox Reside buddies along with participants. Simply yesterday, I competed in opposition to WPCentral's newest employees member, Jonathan. Make XP gets and varied, now mentioning a a lot more fleshed out there skill-based logic to prizes an individual with driver tips with regard to drifting, close to misses, write, getting older air flow and much more. As you drive you’ll encourage your current complete even, increase livens for an haphazard progress shrub and also whirl the Wheelspin, a arbitrary blessed drop obtainable each time anyone aim way up. Bury yourself in a great, wide-open planet taken someone's in stunning details. Each time an individual levels upwards you’ll walk a Forza Horizon 2 PC Download Horizon Wheelspin – a virtual berries robot to suggests prizes associated with any beliefs or maybe another autos. All around seven times period outside of 10 it is the past however after they many go away towards obtaining brand new wheels at any rate, who’s protesting? Your own Drivatar may also bank account credit ratings to suit your needs even if ones Xbox is gone sour. While you'll be able to miss out on titles in addition to taste some thing special, it seems like far more of a struggle and far additional restrictive when compared to released with effortless method undertaken with the first. The main Forza Horizon became the perfect appearing in concert off the elements that make an excellent competition sport. In order to uncover the Horizon Final anyone need to confirm yourself simply by success quite a few Champions on your way Excursion. After you do this, Ben will certainly concern someone to get a final line and also unlock its own opportunity… Once you gather a Store Locate rumor, utilize the color area in your own drawing in order to channel your own seek out the car. When observed, Ashley, the Festivity Mechanic, will bring back the vehicle for you without any fee.
