jodi arias

Jodi arias was the murderer of Travis alexander, he was 30 years old at his death, he was murdered on the 4th of June 2008 in his house whilst he was showering. This is what gave this case its popularity, as Jodi had taken photos of Travis before and during the attack, which had a striking resemblance to Psycho's ( 1960. ) shower scene.

the relationship

When the two first met their friends said there was an instant attraction. They had extremely strong chemistry with eachother, the two lived in different states, they had a long distance relationship but in the first few months, Travis' friends had recognized the relationship was starting to have many red flags, specifically Jodi. Jodi was described to be extremely excited to be in this relationship, way more than Travis ever was, Travis' friends started to even get worried for his safety as the relationship had reportedly gone toxic and posessive.

His friend, Lovingier quoted during an interview : I said, 'Travis, I'm afraid we're gonna find you chopped up in her freezer.' ... From very early on, she was completely obsessed with him." Also confirming that thought. The reason why this is also reported is because his friends said that Jodi would even follow Travis to the bathroom, waiting for him outside and eavesdrope on conversations. She went through his accounts often, that meaning his social media and his emails. Always sitting next to him and was always displeased whenever a woman was around him.

What Jodi said about their relationship was that it was abusive on his side aswell, claiming that he was violent and it wasn't her that was being the toxic one : she claimed that the murder was in self defence because Alexander had lunged at her in anger right before the murder.

She described that on the night of the murder, her and her ex boyfriend, Travis as they had broken up prior to this, had violent sex that lead to his murder of self defence. The sex involved her being tied up by Travis, her arm being twisted and being bent over a desk for anal sex and made sexual videos with her.

Jodi also described a barrage of threatening text messages sent by Alexander in which he told her he would exact "revenge" on her soon and called her a "sociopath." Jodi also told that whilst they were dating, Travis would kick her in the ribs, cursing at her and called her insulting names when they argued. One attack broke one of her fingers, Jodi then showed one of her permanently bent fingers. It was also brought up that Travis used Jodi like a sex slave, and even was accused of being a pedophile as Jodi even caught him jerking off to a photo of a child, a naked boy.

the conviction + murder

On june 4th 2008, Travis was stabbed 27 times, Jodi also slit his throat and shot him in the head. On june 9th his body was discovered by his friends who worried after they were unable to reach him, in the 911 call they were asked if anyone could of been angry enough at him to do this to him : which brought up Jodi arias into the conversation due to their break up. Whilst searching Travis' home, police found his recently purchased digital camera damaged in the washing machine. Police were able to recover deleted images showing Jodi and Arias in sexual poses taken then the final photograph of Travis alive, showing him in the shower. There was also a bloody handprint, it was mixed dna of Jodi and Travis. She was indicted of murder on the 9th, arrested 6 days later.

She was found guilty, even with the claim of abuse ( That I do believe. ) , she was served life imprisonment without possibility of parole.

I’m totally not back for some Late Night Transformers One discourse…who said that…I wanna address something I’ve seen in some of the feedback for the film that, I don’t know, irks me…? One of these things is the fact that “Orion is an asshole” or “immature and stupid” and therefore people don’t like him. I don’t know how to say this, but…he’s like that in a lot of continuities. Orion, in most variants, is a smartass. He has a mouth which gets him both a platform and also in trouble. He also has a habit of seeing short-term solutions to long-term issues. These are things that have existed for a long time, and I think those who have been calling him unlikeable or an ass haven’t seen his variants in the source material. People who also expected him to be a data clerk and throwing a fit about the fact that he’s not also need to realize that it’s a COMIC FRANCHISE. You won’t get the same story every time, and to expect a new continuity to fall back on the sole continuity YOU want is honestly insane. If we regurgitate the same narrative over and over again, the franchise loses originality. Audiences for other franchises have also voiced disdain when their favorite pieces of media get repetitive. This is also a reminder to people that Orion Pax and Optimus do not have the same exact personalities. That’s the whole point and why some people grieve Orion’s absence. To expect him to be the likable gentle giant we know as Optimus Prime right away is an impossible demand to be met. Not only that, but this isn’t even the film relying on one version of Orion, but a mosaic of them all.

I also saw people saying D-16 switched on Orion way too quickly. I’d also argue here that other continuities did similar behavioral changes. In Aligned, Megatronus literally turns his back on him and abandons him at the Council meeting. The behavior is shockingly abrupt, which hurts Orion because he didn’t understand what he could have possibly done wrong. I’d also argue that, in this film, you see multiple times where D-16 is irritated with Orion’s sense of almost immature and irresponsible justice. It’s subtle but then leads to a quick snap. The behavioral change is supposed to be jarring. You’re supposed to feel like it comes out of nowhere.

I am half asleep writing this so I can make another in-depth post when I’m more alive, but I just wanted to remind people they only had an hour and forty minutes to display how a civil war occurs. That’s very hard to do as someone who studies and writes about revolutions and anti-colonial resistance. With the time they had, it was a good job. I only pray people read the source material before giving CinemaSins-esque critiques as well. No Transformers film is perfect. This one definitely wasn’t trying to be.

the lost highway — eric listed this movie as his favorite in a survey, and dylan mentioned it frequently in his journal—including repeatedly drawing a road stretching into the distance with street signs with “5” (a meaningful number to him) “666” or the everlasting contrast on them. additionally, he would add vanishing lines & the everlasting contrast to some of the heart drawings he did, in reference to the movie.

mr cruel

Mr cruel is the nickname of an unidentified man of an Australian serial killer and child-rapist who reportedly attacked three young girls, in the nothern and southern parts of Melbourine in the '90s and 80s. He is the prime suspect of the 1991 abduction of a young girl named Karmein chan who he had also murdered.

On the 22nd of August 1987, he broke into a home at around 4 am armed with a knife and a handgun, he tied the parents hands and feet onto the bed then locking them into the wardrobe. He raped the 11 year old daughter and had previously tied down their young son. He cut the phone lines and had disappeared.

Next on the 27th of December, a year later in 1988 he broke into a family home at 5:20 am by the back door. This time only armed with his hand gun, he proceeded to bound and gag the parents, demanding money from them. He grabbed their 10 year old daughter and put tape over her eyeballs, putting a ball gag in her mouth, abducting her. She was released only 18 hours later, at Bayswater High School.

Onto the third victim that was fully confirmed, on the 3rd of July in 1990, he broke into a family home at 11:30pm, armed with a knife and a gun again. He tied up and gagged their 13 year old daughter, placed tape over her eyes, disabled the phones and then went to search for money. He then drove her to another home, molested her for fifty hours, he then released her at a power station.

Moving onto the crime of Karmein chan, who they still haven't confirmed was by him. On the 13th of April in 1991, a man described wearing the same clothes since the three victims before, a balaclava, specifically, abducted the 13 year old Karmein. Though, this was the only girl who was killed, she was found decomposed with three bullet wounds in her head. They believe she was killed because she could of had seen his face. Detectives could never determine if it was really him because there was a lack of evidence.

They described him extremely intelligent, very planned, even conducting surveillance on the victims and their families. He ensured that he left no forensic traces and protected his identity at all costs. He was not panicked, even eating a meal in one of the victims homes he broke into. He had never been identified, there was a reward of 200 thousand for his identity and two other victims, though in 2016, 20 years after Karmein's death, they had increased the reward of his arrest and conviction from 100 thousand to 1 million.
