Slight Rant

So, I saw that few months ago, FunkyFrogBait was being criticized on here for doing a GrammarlyGo ad shortly after uploading a video about how it's unethical to steal content. So, here's my take on it, even though I'm late to the topic.

I, personally, am a huge fan of FunkyFrogBait(I'll be using FFB for short from now on), and I do not like how they were being attacked. I'll say this right now, I don't know much about AI because I just don't care for the topic, so I don't know how it sources information. But I've been seeing people say it steals stuff to get info, so that's what I'll be going off of for now.

My take on this matter is that the hate on FFB is uncalled for and unnecessary. I feel like they didn't do anything wrong. Here's why:

The Grammarly ad was likely mostly for profit. FFB is a young creator on YT and probably just did the Grammarly ad so that they(FFB) could get a little extra money. I'm unsure if they even actually use Grammarly or not, or if they know how AI gathers info. Besides, Grammarly ads are common for Youtubers, just like how recently a lot of Youtubers I watch have done an ad for AirUp. It was most likely just for extra money, and there were probably a few Youtubers who didn't actually use the product. It's like that for most products that get advertised by Youtubers. So, why exactly is it different for FFB?

Oooh okay so I already know one of them is Knives Out. But after that, I have no idea kinda butt when it comes to watching movies. Maybe Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame? What makes this one kinda hard to answer directly is I go through phases of binging channels without necessarily intending to or because of obsession. It’s more like background noise. I’ve been unintentionally binging true crime playlists but there’s no particular channel I’m loyal to, for example. But! What I can do is foist recommend some channels I do frequent for niceties and intrigue:

Something Wicked: Makes fun and deranged sculpts from illustrations lifted from old texts, of which he goes into and explains the significance of the source.

Joeseppi: A fun little channel who talks about random things, mostly businesses or experiences in a nutshell.

Goblin Girl Studio: An art and sculpt channel. I’m especially fond of the sort of series she’s doing where she creates woodland creatures that exist in the same (insane) universe, including a conspiracy theorist mole and a high suspicious (and stalkery) squirrel.

Caitlin Doughty: Formerly known as Ask a Mortician, Caitlin’s channel focuses on death and the history surrounding practices or famous corpses and controversies and more. Which is morbid but also…kind of reassuring in a way??

FunkyFrogBait: A commentary provided by your local NB with humorous yet very thought-provoking analyses on anything as simple as van life to the complicated nature of Trad Wife culture. Or sometimes they’re just replicating horrific recipes.

Ter’s Trippy TV: While she does look at other tv shows, she mostly focuses on analyzing Bob’s Burgers characters and how their personalities create dynamics with the relationships around them. I especially adored her videos analyzing why Bob and Linda make such a great couple and complement each other, it’s just. Chef’s kiss.
