The League Of Villains Is The Most Irrelevant Group Of Losers The World Has Ever Seen, And Nothing That Happened After The First War Had Any Stakes Because Of It
Hawks killing Twice was a mistake.
It went nowhere, no one learned anything from it.
And as we learned from the final war arc, the villains are pathetic and can't score a single fatality.
NO ONE on the hero team got killed. Only villains died!
Hawks' actions look WORSE on that day. "Oh, but Twice was a huge threat!" Actually, no, he wasn't. He's a weak little bitch just like all his friends are. He could have executed Hawks' nightmare scenario of him cloning an army of high end Nomu, Dabi, and Tomura, and the villains still would have found a way to fuck it up.
The narrative would never kill anyone that the audience could begin to give the slightest of fucks about. The only people who died in the first war are were a bunch of filler characters invented just to get killed, and people with no real backstory or development at all.
Do you think anyone cared when Native died? Or how about Majestic, a character invented entirely for the war arc and given the role of being Momo and Setsuna's mentor, despite the fact that he'd never been seen before in the manga at that point, just so he can die and they can pretend there are stakes?
Eel Boy? Funk Man? There were actual characters who don't appear again to do anything of value in the series in the range of Tomura's Decay wave, but the author wouldn't let anything happen to his precious pookies, so they all get saved and he invents a bunch of nothing characters to die in their places.
X-Less entirely existed so he could die and deliver a Tetsuo style cape to Tomura. The man's life amounted to being a drip delivery boy.
The only reason Midnight died is because the author likes to mutilate and kill female characters. He realized that killing off a bunch of utter nothing characters wouldn't accomplish much and couldn't bear to kill Gran Torino after he drew Tomura turning him into a donut, so he picked Midnight, someone the audience could maybe care about but she only appeared in a handful of scenes and was there for Mineta's character development.
Notice how Kyoka lost an ear, but Deku's losing his arms got walked back in the next chapter, and the tease that Bakugo would lose his arm went nowhere?
There's no in universe reason for why the villains are so pathetic. They're garbage entirely because the author isn't willing to kill or harm his precious heroes, so he wraps them in mountains of bubble wrap.
Dabi couldn't even take out Hawks and Tokoyami when he had a type advantage against both of them, and flames that can melt steel in seconds. The guy bathed Hawks' back in blue fire, but only managed to damage his quirk a little.
I want to remind you that blue fire is hotter than lava. But instead of ending up requiring over 100 hours of surgery and having all of the nerves and flesh in his back obliterated, Hawks is just in some bandages for a bit and then he pulls through.
The guy doesn't even have to be rehabilitated. Nope.
The damage to his quirk is reversed by magical prosthetics that means he could enter into a battle with ALL FOR ONE with no apparent loss in power!
If the narrative has a character say "Oh, guys, I totally got weaker after my injury, trust!"
But then it has him fight the strongest villain in the series and the man who's slaughtered thousands by himself in a 2 vs 1 and the guy barely takes a scratch until AFO goes beast mode, why should we deny what's right in front of our eyes?
Hawks' damage was entirely cosmetic because the author likes him. And it means the villains are completely pathetic. This is a series where we're supposed to be worried that these bozos are going to kill everyone, while not letting them kill anyone.
It's a series where somehow, society had fallen to the point where it was total anarchy on the streets and THE MAJORITY of heroes quit…but coincidentally for the heroes, the League never attacks the specific places where their comrades are being held.
It sure is great for the heroes that All For one apparently couldn't be bothered to go spring all those PLF guys who certainly have…barely anyone guarding them because of how short staffed the country is at the moment.
In addition, as much as I like to harp on All For One's incredibly plot convenient "friends" who are apparently infinite in number and enable him to (ineffectually) have villains throw the entire planet into anarchy at his command all at once…
The heroes also get the incredible plot convenience of having infinite funding for all of their schemes, as well as infinite space and supplies for all the refugees who congregated in their school.
Would someone like to explain to me why and how UA high school is able to support most of the population of Japan and keep all of these people fed, watered, and sheltered? When NOBODY is going to work and everywhere is being evacuated? When they can't even get shipments from outside the country at the moment thanks to the state of emergency?
And they still have the supplies to manufacture all the stuff to:
-Make the entire school fly.
-Create the evacuation protocols for the refugees including the devices they were sending them off in.
-Supply their team with everything they could possibly need.
The author doesn't care to explain it and Momo's quirk is only used to create tiles to help fight "Tomura Shigaraki," not the rest of this stuff.
But I guess Nezu was preparing for a zombie apocalypse or something.
You know, Nezu. The guy who refused to entertain the idea that their school might have a spy and ignored the problem entirely.
Said spy was only caught because Hagakure happened to notice he was sneaking off to talk to his parents in the woods and he outed himself.
It sure is convenient for the heroes that AFO didn't keep both of Aoyama's parents as hostages, and that he had Aoyama out himself by having him attack Deku instead of just…waiting and having Aoyama open the doors of UA to them, or leak all their defenses.
It sure is convenient for the heroes that Shinso's quirk improved (off screen) enough to do exactly what the plot needed it to do and bypass AFO's lie detector abilities so he could summon his army into a trap that utterly destroyed them.
If we take the series at face value, everyone's terrified of Tomura, who has less than 100 kills. MOST of his kills were against MLA people who were attacking him. Something the heroes wouldn't actually know about.
The new symbol of evil, everyone, who regularly gets foiled by high school kids and then was murdered by the combined might of a bunch of 15-16 year olds.
I want to iron in something that illustrates how utterly worthless the League is.
Stain killed and crippled more heroes than the entire League Of Villains has. He killed 17 and maimed 23 to the point where they could never be heroes again.
Excluding All For One, of course, who got most of his kills pre-canon.
All For One's endless funding, a villain army, scores of Nomu, the All For One quirk, the MLA's assets being added to the League, and the brute force of Gigantomachia.
All inferior to one deranged man with knives and swords.

on the note of yj in owaw im also thinking about this bit of tim narration from yj98 #36...
Tumblr media
tim is feeling betrayed and frustrated (understandably), but what stands out to me is how he thinks of "that whole guardian fiasco". in the earlier yj owaw tie-in, he and the others express disapproval of kon for "stealing government property":
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they let it go at the end to move on, but...
Tumblr media
but like, the baby in question is a cadmus clone (just like superboy himself), cloned from a man who expressly wished that he not be cloned and forced back into the fight after his death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
as an aside, clone baby guardian arc is possibly the BEST in sb94 - it's about bodily autonomy and the humanity and personhood of clones, and the dignity that should be afforded to all people vs the way waller & spence etc want to treat them as property and disposable, reusable weapons.
so i think overall tim and the rest of yj talking about that situation like this... well, those plot threads overall got dropped in the general aftermath of owaw, but it feels like a real missing scene to me. because realistically, given everything kon stands for and everything he went through for baby guardian's sake, to give him the right to choose, i think tim and the others all talking about it like "it's the government so they must be right" would not sit well with kon. (and frankly, would be a pretty solid in-universe reason for kon to further mistrust their orders re: rescuing the suicide squad members, leading up to him disobeying and trying to save steel.)
owaw is arguably the most serious conflict anyone in yj has been involved in up to this point (kon and bart were both present for genesis, but genesis wasn't... Like This, imo. kon was also involved at the destruction of coast city, but this is kind of a tangent.) my point is, up until this point, they are all kinda operating under the assumption that the government is generally on the side of the good guys. this is partly bc of how comics are written, of course, but also makes sense as an in-universe stance for most young heroes to take; tim in particular is definitely a lawful good, and at this point he doesn't understand that his personal rules don't always 100% line up with what the greater authority of The Government dictates.
kon is a contrast to this, because kon does not have the whole "grew up with a family as a part of normal society" backstory like tim and cassie do. kon's involvement with cadmus, a government-funded organization, generally is written such that cadmus are good, except that the closer we get to owaw, the more questionable their intent seems. we see the agenda and their push for eugenics. we see guardian being treated as a tool and not a person. we see waller taking over.
anyways, all of this is kind of to say - i think it's a real shame we don't actually see a big conversation between tim and kon in the aftermath of this. i want to SEE tim get that first real big crack in his worldview that makes him start to think that huh. maybe if lying to small time authority figures for the sake of doing good, like me lying to my dad about being robin, is justified... then maybe directly disobeying the law in the name of doing good is also justified. like, i want kon to look him in the eye and ask "do you think i'm government property, too, then, jackass?" and i want tim to have to really sit back and think on it. i wanna see that character development.
because like - it is a flawed viewpoint, that tim and the rest of yj were written to treat kon trying to free a baby like this. but it's also not an unrealistic one when they're all teenagers who haven't really necessarily had to face moral quandaries of "what's right vs what's lawful" with such high stakes before. i wish this plot had actually gone more places with everyone.

How do you think about the krakoan resurrections, narratively, I’ve been reading more of the Krakoan line and while I’ve enjoyed the worldbuilding and the plotting related to the resurrection process(like how big of a deal it was for the secret to get out), I do appreciate it’s gone.
I feel letting everyone have a get out of jail free card, with exceptions to people who don’t want to get brought back(even then that didn’t work, good one Erik), spoils the stakes a little, and also funny in a morbid sort of way that despite all their suicide missions and long odds, it’s only now that our major xmen are dropping off like flies for these multiple deaths.
Apologies if this was incoherent, just observations i have reading so far
Worry not, it coheres well enough! A great question :).
I love it! I thought it was an amazing achievement for the mutants to have and a luminous yet fraught foundation to build a country and culture around. Five mutants working in concert to resurrect people! What a concept, and the mutant circuit itself was taken to exciting places even when it was mundane. It was a compelling developing world building choice in the need for secrecy while still being quite fragile. There's not as much redundancy as they'd like, for instance - though fortunately they didn't all die at once.
Of course, the flipside of that is how the worst person on the island managed to subvert it and burn the universe. That was fun too. It's no small thing to have power over life and death, and even seeing the younger mutants become so cavalier about it felt new and interesting.
Comic book deaths rarely feel like anything more than a setback, and the convoluted or unexplained ways people return tend to feel rote and predictable. I can't get excited about a solicit saying 'next issue an X-Man dies!' or similar because I know it's a temporary inconvenience to goose sales. In most cases creators already know when or how they're coming back. I didn't really see it as a get out of jail free card - more a paradigm shift that challenged writers to introduce more interesting stakes.
Taking that arbitrary, low stakes genre convention and pushing it to its logical endpoint struck me as a clever way to move past that tiresome sensationalism. Death doesn't have to be the only stakes, especially when mutants have more to lose than ever. A nation, vulnerable to external threats. A society built on quicksand. Bad faith actors living next door. Geopolitics! Any mutant can return without preamble to this brave new world, for good or ill. It wasn't a perfect safety net either - Otherworld, Arakko, dying publicly, the secrecy, requiring proof of death, the clone issue, etc all altered the paradigm with new stakes.
In short, HoxPoX stopped pretending that death was final or even meaningful and found new stakes to explore. I don't think Krakoa would have been as powerful without it, narratively and thematically. The fact that warriors were prioritised and precogs secretly banned set up dominos to explode in everyone's face. Mainly Chuck and Mags. The power they exercised over Mystique, for example, was so fucked up. That was always going to ignite and it didn't disappoint. They solved for death but they didn't solve for life - and that's the tricky part. As powerful as resurrection is, it's just as powerful a thing to have weaponised against you.
I do wish we got a book about The Five as characters, exploring their family unit, the pressure and position, the religious awe surrounding them. They're all pretty interesting people who barely knew each other beforehand (except Egg and Tempus.) They appeared in books here and there, but X-Factor and IXM (and HoxPoX to a degree) were their most substantial appearances. COVID happened at a terrible time for X-Men comics and messed up publication but I'm still happy with what we got.
As for how I feel about resurrection protocols being off the table (except for Chuck, apparently. Nevermind that it doesn't work that way) - it was inevitable and I think I've mostly just accepted it. From The Ashes is very back to basics and it wouldn't really fit, so I'm happy it's not being used RN. Definitely think R-LDS is a cynical and shallow idea taking shots at something wonderful for little gain.
Thanks for the ask! I hope it makes sense.

PLEASE post more about your freak OCS! They're so cool!!
On it boss. I need to develop them more but here’s the general idea
RED and BLU are the main companies where the battles going down, but the administrator established lower stakes divisions of each company to explore more experimental concepts for continuing the war. These two shell companies, Geologic Reactors National and Pandemic Relief & Prevention, are comparatively miniscule operations with only one team each made up with reject clones in complete isolation from the real world. The ridiculous experimental warfare combined with that goes down has resulted in the generation of freaks.
Tumblr media
The Frengineer (GRN)
a considerably less violent less intelligent engineer clone
colorblind, can't tell who's on what team
almost never participates in the battle. mostly just sets up buildings and taunts
The Spyrus (GRN)
a digital entity of a spy's consciousness
lost his human body after a freak accident attempting to sap the medigun of the PRP medic who was healing him
no physical form, can transmit self through electronics and is vaguely aware of tf2's mechanics as a game
annoyed as fuck about his situation
Potionmaster Sniper (GRN)
a very chill sniper who's taught himself occult magic
carries various jarate jars filled with unknown potions. throwing them on people causes different spells and effects
doesnt take his job too seriously, more focused on pursuing his hobbies (of potionmaking and cooking)
Doctor Patient (PRP)
a medic infused with healing abilities
the medigun sapping incident mutated him into a living medigun, but in order to heal, he suffers some random ailment in exchange
chronically ill and in pain, but is too concerned with his team's wellbeing to avoid healing them
i wanna make more of these guys cause tf2 freaks are so sillies to me. ideally id actually be able to fuck around in gmod to play with them like dolls but i dont rly know how to use gmod and i dont have a lot of time anyway

What aspect of the show would you have liked to see more, had there been a season 9 (not 8 cause that on was well planned already)? Anything goes: characters, character developments, relationships, politics (GCI vs OSI)
Oh man. WHERE TO START!
Tumblr media
idk much about whatever plans for s8 exist besides force majeure appearing more, which i am a FAN of.
I want to see flashbacks to the CREATION of The Rusty Venture Show, flashbacks to when the Triad first met (the Alchemist ebfore he was the Alchemist!), flashbacks to Jonas and Force Majeure's rivalry!!!
I want an episode where Brock has to visit his family with Hank and Dean, I want an episode where Venturestein and the abominations become protected citizens of Puerto Bahia and help the country advance with super science thus pissing off the USA, I want an episode with Triana graduating from magic school
I want an episode where 6-yo Rocket Impossible is arrested by "Time Cops" for future crimes of because they can't catch future/their current!Rocket and imprison him. Future!Rocket time travels to the past/our now/beginning of the episode to prevent the "Time Cops" from ever kidnapping baby!him. He has a couple of neat future tech things that convinces everyone that he's not talking out his ass, but he also gets stuck in this timeline and now lives here.
and here is part of my timeline which covers up to 2017:
Winter, 2012, Hank goes missing after finding Dean with his girlfriend Sirena. Winter, 2012 but now its 2013 just not Spring yet, Ventech tower goes crashing up and down. Spring, 2013, Rusty, Billy, Pete, and Vatred are arrested for the whole debacle. Brock, Dean, and Hank stay at Bobbi St. Simone's ranch for a while. Malcolm is severely pissed that his arch is in jail. Winter, 2013, Malcolm and Sheila create the legal case getting the four of them out of prison and Rusty is genuinely touched that the Monarch got him out of jail. Spring, 2014, Rusty restarts Ventech/Venture Industries in Colorado with Billy , Pete, and new CEO Wyatt Watt having equal stakes Summer, 2014, Shore Leave and Al elope and open up a gay bar. Fall, 2014, Rusty is sent back to school to finish his degree. Winter, 2014, W3V Enterprises drag show at Shore Leave and Al's place. Jared, Dean, Hank, Brock, Rusty, Billy, Pete, Wyatt, the assistants, and Hatred all participate. Orpheus and Twilight and Gathers all come out to watch. Hunter surprises everyone and comes out as Jean. Dean drops out of school and gets a job at the fake Birdcage. Spring, 2015, Hank officially opens HankCo. a subsidiary of Wave (he employs Dermott and Ben). Winter, 2015 Dean transitions to Liz and Hank is nearly assassinated, hires his own personal bodyguard hired, who falls in love with Hank. Spring, 2016, Liz starts dating Pete's assistant, George. Winter, 2016, Hank is targeted and blown up at a ceremony. The saboteur is Brock's Greek daughter, M.I.A., and is in a Red Room like situation. Spring, 2017 Rusty turns 50 and is almost done his Masters and starts cloning himself to speed things up
SOOOOOO i mean. I don't think i answered your question but I hope this answered your question!!!
the osi i honestly want to blow up like SHIELD in ca2tws and the gci i want to NEARLY collapse, but be saved and restructured with sheila on Top top because the whole council idea is good but the way its executed sucks for her and she deserves to be a supervillain and take power <3

WRITER'S CHOICE
These are my personal favorite stories that I've written so far, as well as my favorite stories written by others.
This list will be changed and/or added to over time as new stories emerge.
You can also read my stories on my AO3.
My ratings are as follows: G (all ages), T (13+), M (18+)
main masterlist
Tumblr media
MY STORIES
DIN DJARIN SERIES
security* • fem!oc An ex-princess forced to hide and fight for her life, Astra is now on the run with a Mandalorian and a foundling, trying to protect the three of them from the threat of death that creeps around every corner accompanied by a tracking fob. ↳ This series will always be special to me for so many reasons, but mainly because it was the first Din Djarin story I ever wrote. Din and Astra have such a beautiful relationship that I've loved developing over the years. This story is also like a time capsule, as it's constantly being added to the more they create new Mandalorian content. It's very nostalgic to go back and see how my writing has improved over the years through this story alone.
bloodlust* completed • fem!reader A daring favor from Boba Fett sends you and Din undercover together—as a married couple. When tensions rise and mysteries unravel, you’re left to determine what’s real from what’s not before your time runs out. ↳ I truly didn't expect to love this story as much as I did when I started writing it, but I had a ton of fun with this one. It really brings out a very honest yet sensual depiction of Din's character that was really fun to explore. It also allowed me to give him a modern twist without taking Din outside of the Star Wars universe.
DIN DJARIN ONE-SHOTS
ni ceta par gar (i kneel for you)* • reader When Mando needs emotional release, you seek to fulfill your pining by offering something neither one of you can resist—something that could change everything. ↳ Anyone who knows me knows I'm not really a spicy gal, but this story was a fun experiment that turned into something I honestly loved. I adore the way Din behaves in this story, especially in the latter half. It's got a really nice balance between angst, spice, fluff, and hurt/comfort.
united we fall • reader Din’s unable to control the Darksaber and accidentally hurts you with it, leaving behind a deep scar on your body and his mind. ↳ This story was my first response to Din returning in TBOBF, and as an angst girlie, I eat this kind of hurt/comfort right up. It was heartbreaking to depict what Din would have done in this situation, but the comfort he receives is a perfect balm. I come back to this one a lot, and with each new one-shot, I try to recreate whatever energy I created here.
love me louder • reader Your secret romance with the Mandalorian is put at risk when you find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time. ↳ Forbidden/secret romances are gonna do it for me every time, and it was so fun to bring one to life in this one-shot. Protective Din is my favorite, so to depict that along with the reader character's own strength and reassurance was a really fun balance. I just live for the high-stakes moment in this one.
doomsday • reader You and Din are interrogated by Moff Gideon, who has quickly realized you’re the best weapon he has to use against the Mandalorian. ↳ Like I mentioned earlier, I'm an angst girlie, especially with a hefty dose of hurt/comfort when I can. There's not a ton of physical comfort here, but the emotional comfort throughout the torture was delicious to bring to life. This one is a true testament to what I think Din's strength, mentally and physically, would be in a situation like this.
HUNTER SERIES
senator’s shadow • fem!reader Clone Force 99 is assigned as your protection when you embark on a risky diplomatic mission, and a certain sergeant starts to get protective of you. ↳ Besides the fact that this is my only Hunter series so far (with at least two more coming soon!), this story has been really special to me as of late. It's helped me to bring multiple personalities to life in a way that I think and hope is faithful and accurate, and it also has a delicious tension in its main relationship that's been super fun to develop.
HUNTER ONE-SHOTS
borrowed time • reader You can’t stop staring at Hunter during a mission, and little do you know just how distracting it is for both him and you. ↳ If you know, you know. This one was born out of a single idea that I told myself I had to sit down and write right away, and that's exactly what happened. It's a simple concept, but that payoff at the end is just... probably one of my most intense kissing scenes I've ever written!
at victory’s end• reader You help Hunter to recover from the lasting effects of Hemlock’s torture on Tantiss. ↳ This was my response to the series finale, and for anyone who, like me, yearned to comfort him after those intense events, this one really hits. I do wish I could have expanded it more, but I'm still satisfied with the end result. Seeing Hunter go right into protector mode after he recovers is very on-brand.
in peace, there is love• reader Months after Tantiss in the peacefulness of Pabu, you find it impossible to ignore the feelings you’ve always had for Hunter. ↳ After making characters go through a lot of angst and hurt/comfort, this was a really sweet thing to explore. I especially had a wonderful time describing what Hunter would look like in the height of their retirement era. I hope it's just the first of many retired-Hunter-on-Pabu stories that I'll write.

MY RECOMMENDATIONS
DIN DJARIN SERIES
healer completed • fem!reader → @bestintheparsec You’re medically trained and meet the Mandalorian by chance. Over time, you become more than just a crew member. ↳ This series is the reason why I made this blog and started writing for this fandom. It will always have a special place in my heart because of that. This one truly helped to set the standard for classic Din x reader tropes during/just after season 1 premiered. It's a beautiful, heartfelt ride.
the lovely moons* • blind!reader → @vercopaanir Din buys your freedom and saves your from servitude to instead take you in as a paid crew member. As you help him with the child, you become much closer, your fates now intertwined. ↳ This story reads like a book. Din is very accurately characterized, and there's both faithfulness to canon and some new compelling adventures with high stakes. This one really has it all: incredible writing, heart-stopping action, and a sweet, sweet romance at the heart of it all.
DIN DJARIN ONE-SHOTS
protector • fem!reader → @aerynwrites When the ship is attacked unexpectedly, Din does everything he can to protect you, but you both end up being taken. When they suggest torturing you, Din offers to get tortured instead to save you. ↳ I said it before and I'll say it again: I eat these kinds of angsty hurt/comfort stories UP! This is one of the first I remember reading, and clearly, it's made a massive impact on me. I think about this one all the time. It's such a classic that I revisit time and time again.
HUNTER SERIES
what is this feeling • fem!reader → @masterjedilenawrites You grow close to Hunter when he and the squad are residing with you and protecting your home, but the time comes for them to leave. Misunderstandings lead to jealousy until you're forced to confess how you feel about him. ↳ This Hunter story lives in my mind rent-free all the time. I've already re-read it a few times and I only discovered it a few months ago. This has not only wonderful characterizations of the entire squad, but also just a super sweet and meaningful romance at the center of the story, even when you're yelling at them for not understanding one another.
Have a Din Djarin or Hunter story you'd like me to read? Submit it here, and I'll do my very best to check it out!

Watching Voltron for the 1st Time: S7 Ep 12-13
Somehow I am still watching, still present, still accounted for. Stumbling across this clusterfuck in the wild? Have a long explanation of how we got here, or if you prefer shorter explanations, I got recommended this by a middle schooler whose respect I very much NEED (so she takes me seriously when I tell her about science), and now I've gotten far enough along that I feel like I have sunk enough cost to NEED to finish it. I make a list of what I like and don't like and then ramble at the end of a run of a few episodes. I have now finished seven fucking seasons of this show. I'M ALMOST DONE FREE MEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Rare! A Good Decision!
Obligatory Shiro eyeliner appreciation comment
Veronica is so pretty and I am so gay
I'm really struggling here guys uhhhhhhhhhhhhh the artists draw earth very pretty our lil marble-y home looks lovely
I am happy Shiro gets to ruin Sendak. Will we explore the fact that he does it with an arm weapon that resembles Sendak? No. But the thought that it might have happened in a world where this show was actually developed with any time at all is nice
I actually really like the Shiro and Sendak fight. Very nice environmental use, very good stakes, solid motivation.
I am also very okay with Keith getting to murk Sendak. "As many times as it takes" and all that. [EDIT since apparently this seemed unclear. I am okay with this because I think Shiro as a character is shown as being very burdened by having been forced to kill BY Sendak. Shiro not having to kill Sendak, to me, in a better show, could be representative of the burden of having to kill being lifted from him at last. idk what to tell you man. That kind of story would speak to me as meaningful]
I have so little nice to say about robeasts but at least they remind me of the fun stuff in OG Voltron.
The new robeast is a great Haggar moment
Self sacrifice is a very poorly handled theme of this show fr but I can theoretically appreciate it
If I had any goodwill left in me for this show I would be like "What a great way to set up season 8 with the Altean in the robeast" but I don't so I will just say in a better show it'd be a good move but I have faith they'll bungle it.
Typical. A Bad Decision.
I cannot believe this fucking launch sequence has to be so long every time bro I can't take it anymore
The technobabble in this show bro I "Particle emission amplification" I can't do this anymore let's cross beams like in Ghostbusters I am PHYSICALLY tired as a result of this shit. The Death Star never explained to me how it worked with made up science words. The Death Star just murked a planet on camera and we comprehended the threat. SEE MY POINT VOLTRON????
In all honesty the second you have to explain battle strategy to your viewers mid-fight scene rather than just letting the fight play out you've failed to make it work.
STOP EXPLAINING EVERYTHING WITH YOUR FAKE MADE UP SCIENCE OMFG YOU DON'T NEED TO EXPLAIN YOU JUST NEED TO D O THINGS IK YOU'RE ALLERGIC TO THAT
This air fight really has so many moving parts that were just. Not adequately planned for and. Well. Usually I say the fights are a strength of this show. This certainly was not the case here. AND THIS IS A SEASON FINALE???
We've reached a point where not a single paladin feels like even their little trope selves.
I am OKAY with Keith killing Sendak because I think in a better show Shiro's original "I need Sendak dead" moment would've been a big thing for him (it makes sense. He lost his head back in season 1 and launched him into space. Having him NOT have to kill Sendak now after being forced to kill in the arena by Sendak? Okay!) but this moment is just robbed of ANY of that because. Well. WELL. THE SHOW NEVER EXPLORES ANY OF THAT. SO. YAY SENDAK DEAD IG BUT IT MEANS NOTHING NOW
I also think really missed opportunity to have that mean something in that we haven't seen Keith and Shiro really speak AT ALL since Shiro's mind controlled clone tried to murder Keith and Keith broke him free and then Keith had Shiro's dead consciousness transfered to the clone body like what even are they to each other now. Show has Keith say they're brothers, then they don't act like siblings or really ANYTHING??? And now I'm supposed to think Keith murking Sendak matters NOT COMPARED TO ANYTHING ELSE HE'S DONE AND CERTAINLY NOT TO THEIR RELATIONSHIP WHICH DOESN'T EXIST THIS SEASON
Everything in this show becomes a giant mecha inevitably and I think this is modestly lame and uncreative
For the record I predicted the Atlas becoming a giant mecha a few episodes ago and I still think it's kind of lame
The IDGAF Atlas truly does nothing for me I am NOT moved
Self sacrifice is a very poorly handled theme of this show and practically it pisses me off that the show does nothing to really drive home how significant it is. With the blades that die, with Keith pulling that move at Naxela, with Shiro, with the paladins now, it goes on. If you want to examine self sacrifice but you're unwilling to look at what it does to people, if you're unwilling to look at people's relationships and the love that DRIVES people to do that, then you shouldn't! There is no self sacrifice without someone to sacrifice yourself FOR.
Bro what is Axca doing here CAN WE NOT HAVE THAT POOR GIRLIE EXIST OUTSIDE OF THE CONTEXT OF SOME FUCKING MAN FIRST IT WAS LOTOR NOW IT'S KEITH ISTG SHE IS NOT A PERSON TO THESE WRITERS I AM SO MAD FR
I finished this season and I feel nothing at all! Wow! Here's the thing right. This show has a lot of potential tucked away in a soup of bad decisions and a supremely rushed development. I WANT to appreciate what could've been.
But that also feels like appreciating something that is entirely constructed. Yeah, if there'd been a lot of things going differently this show could've been good. If my mom had balls she'd be my dad, if you will. I can't appreciate what's not there. I just. Man! Plenty of things have pretty good concepts. If the actual execution isn't there behind it, there's nothing. Most sci fi has a fun concept. I mean come on, "What if some people got shot into space and there were ALIENS and GIANT ROBOTS" is really hard to make seem boring as an idea. So like. When I mention good ideas being in this show as the only positive that's like... just the fact that the genre conventions are FUN.
I get it man. I get that making a whole animated show in under three years is an impossible task. WHICH. BY THE WAY. IS WHY YOU SHOULDN'T DO IT! It's just. Unthinkable to me that anyone thought this was a good idea. When I am done with this show and therefore unafraid of spoilers/fandom interpretation leakage into my interpretation of the text, I am going to seek out interviews and explanations with showrunners because it is BAFFLING to me that anyone thought this timeline was a good idea.
I've said before that the story feels like it's just moving characters from A to B to C without much thought as to the journey. The meat on the bones. The depth to the story. And that kind of. HAPPENS with first drafts. It does! And you can see the first draft traces all over the show– characters suddenly changing in characterization with very little explanation (cough Lance and Allura and Keith) (Lance's characterization is all over the damn map! That's because they probably MEANT for him to have a pretty significant development as the audience's surrogate, but they just. Did not have time to write the in-betweens) (Allura just doesn't get nailed down at ALL and especially the second they throw Lotor in they forget about anything they had established about her) (And Keith is. Well. The fucking 180 they did on him to the point where he is now. Boring. Without showing us anything)
The plot itself has SO MANY significant moments happening offscreen, or in exposition dumps, or in flashbacks to things we didn't see! There's threads brought up and abandoned (the Blade of Marmora is being hunted down, the fact that Lotor made Voltron his representative to the Galra empire and that's never addressed, hell even Shiro's time as the arena champion!) that would also probably get worked out and refined WITH TIME.
There's also a really spectacular amount of gays that got buried this season. Which. Uh. Makes me a lil uncomfortable! Ezor and Zethrid our space lesbians, fucking Adam. Hell even Shiro himself if you really want to nitpick lmfao. No gay left unburied! There's characters that they just have no clue what to do with (Acxa) that are likely remnants of some plan that never came to fruition.
This show is underbaked! It didn't finish marinating before they threw it in the oven and it CERTAINLY didn't finish cooking in the oven. You can dress it up any which way you want, it doesn't WORK.
And that's a shame because there's a lot of talent on the show! I've spoken before about how great the performances are, how beautiful the art is, and when the writers have something substantial they've written, it's really really lovely (the Keith and Shiro fight and in general their development through the first six seasons is excellent and has subsequently just been lost in the season 7 shuffle) (I really loved Allura and the Balmera as well). But there's just SO MUCH that doesn't have any development.
It's a children's show (or at a minimum geared to middle/very early high schoolers) and they've got characters KILLING other characters and that's never explored! I don't understand how this came to be! Main characters killing other characters on screen in ANY work of fiction, even those for adults, is typically treated with gravity!
There is also how poorly this show handles race which..... I think is also something that would've benefitted from Further Marination Before Attempting To Finish It Off. All of the things I've mentioned about it in prior posts are not in and of themselves inherently problematic if they are handled with some sort of grace.
I do not think this draft of Voltron possessed much grace.
Ultimately the themes of this show just. Are lacking in every way. What is the point of this show? Self sacrifice? In some sense? But that's certainly not explored. To show us absolute power corrupts absolutely? It doesn't! Not in canon! Oppression and colonization are bad? Certainly not a narratively challenged idea in the text!
Ultimately I think the only thing this show successfully says is "Hey isn't space pretty? Isn't it fun to draw bigass robot lion spaceships? Isn't this fight cool?" Which. I think is kind of a shame because of how much the show brings up and either fails to address or just. Reinforces (again, the symbol of peace in this universe is a weapon)
None of the characters are friends, the few that have meaningful relationships are just kind of dropped or forgotten about, the characters don't feel like themselves. I feel like they're all just dolls being moved around. An empty husk of a figure so you can choose your favorite color and a toy they pilot and pretend YOU are your favorite trope, buy it now!
And maybe I was the real clown to hope for more than that when that's what this show was about all the way back in its first iteration, but I don't feel like it's my fault when the openings of this show promised so much, only to deliver on none of it.
ANYWAYYYYYYYYy uhhhhh idk I do have so many fucking thoughts as a result of this show so send me asks DM me do whatever if you wish to access more of them bc I feel like my brain is going to explode like there is so much about this show in it that is. Giving me great distress.
PS: I’m editing this to add that if you don’t get where I’m coming from with something, you can always ask! I’ll clarify, we can discuss it. But I really would appreciate if you come into it in, yknow, good faith given the fact that I am a person YOU DONT KNOW and assuming that you have a better picture of what I mean about something than I do is kinda unfair to me.

Mando Vampires for the WIP ask game? 👀
Sooooo I actually have 2 Mando Vampires ideas, one that I shared on Codywan Nation and the one this document was originally going to be about.
This one is a Codywan fic maaaaybe a JangCodywan fic (I just made up that ship name, I think, but it might be an existing thing). Basic premise is that all Mandalorians are vampires, hence why they wear armor (to protect from the sun.) Mando adoption culture is basically vampire turning.
Anyway, the clones are all decanted human despite Jango being a vampire. (This causes all the Mandalorians to agree that the clones aren't Mandos.) Jango plans on turning Boba once the kid is old enough.
Anyway, Jango typically doesn't turn clones, except for ones that particularly impressed him. This includes Cody.
Here's the thing about vampire turning: just like many vampire tales, the vamp who made you is your master. The master vampire can order a thrall vampire to do their bidding and the thrall can't say no. A thrall can only be freed if the master vampire lets them go, or the master vampire dies. Jango never lets Cody go, even though it's Mandalorian tradition, and Cody is forced to serve Jango if Jango demands it. (Of course there are ways to defy a master vampire, usually by following the letter of the law not the intent, but the master/thrall situation is obviously very unbalanced and messed up.)
Anyway in this AU, Jango doesn't die, because he takes one look at Geonosis and is like no thanks, too much sun, and leaves as soon as possible.
Cody gets assigned to Obi-Wan as his Commander during the war. The two of them hit it off, and start developing feelings. One little issue though:
Jango is very interested in Obi-Wan and is 1) forcing Cody not to make any moves on the Jedi and 2) forcing Cody report to Jango about Obi-Wan and maybe play unwilling wingman.
Of course this fic will have all the typical vampire good stuff, like blood drinking, hunger, and biting kink.
It's a toss up on whether or not Jango stops being an ass, frees Cody, works out his issues, and they get to be a throple or Jango gets staked and it's just Codywan. I was going to see where the writing took me.

More generally what did you think of the Daddycop episode as a whole ?
Time to admit i might also be on board on the Zoebrina train. 😂
Overall the episode was pretty good. Marinette was her worst-self though so self absorbed she couldn't put 2+2 together with Sabrina literally in front of her. I get it 'for the episode' but damn.
Sabrina's new look is a full downgrade... like.. her hair! Forget the cut, she forgot how to brush it? she's got those random hairs sticking out. the girl knew how to take care of herself! Those aren't curls or waves, they're bedhead!
The new guy-Chloe (he has the hairglasses!) is weak. What did he fly form NY just to mess with Zoe? She seems to know him. He looks like he should be in university or something though, not Lyceé.
Also giving Zoe a 'I used ot be mean' plot arc starting at the END of an episode about 'We forgive people who used to be mean' is so... zero stakes?
Back to the main things though:
Sabrina was good, and Zoe was good. I like them *as friends* And Zoe pining for Sabrina might be fun. There just needs to be time between this and anything to develop, like TIME time. Othersie it's absolutely unhealthy on the level of Felgami 'Dating my ex'es clone' levels or more.
Allow me to provide a peace offering to Zobrina and come up with a better plot than we'll get:
Chloe is fronting on Social Media, her life is actually a wreck and she is miserable/being subjected to Audrey's continued abuse.
When she comes back she's still fronting. She believes she can't dare show weakness or everyone will pounce. Sabrina is the only one who knows her well enough to see it.
Sabrina confides in Zoe, the only person she thinks will/might care enough.
Between the two of them they work on trying to find a way to get Chloe help.
During the course of this they grow closer.
During the course of this they both hash out their feelings with Chloé.
By the end, with Audrey 'defeated', Chloé in a healthier situation where she can try and rebuild her life and her sense of self. I wouldn't give her to André, but that's me. Have her picked up by Sublime's family (maybe Chloblime is something I might enjoy a bit...)
Job done, and crisis past, Sabrina and Zoe realize they might want to try being more than friends. (okay, Zoe has known this forever, she's been desperate to kiss this ginger but she was holding back. Sabrina finally feels ready though now)
How's that for you?

After seeing the newer trailers I am more convinced than ever that Adrien finds out or Marinette tells him the truth and that is what causes the end of the world again. Cause Adrien isn’t allowed to face any kind of lasting trauma and the best way to have a successful relationship is via lies not love.
I’m vaguely reminded of my frustration with the later arcs of cardcaptor sakura with how basically everyone around her was stressing her out on purpose and keeping secrets from her about her own damn abilities “for her own good” and every time she finds something out, she’s grateful to them
Like seriously, prior to the magic twin/clone thing? whatever that plot line was, every big conflict Sakura faced was people “looking out for her” pretending that there were actual stakes and risks and consequences so she’d Get Good when actually it was all fine and dandy and they could’ve probably achieved the same results with significantly less emotional distress
Oh right
ML
Yeah no sorry to Adrien he deserves growth and change like any other good character cuz at least Sakura got some development out of everyone she loves and trusts lying to her (even if it infuriates me how she’s never reasonably upset about it) but Adrien remains Untainted

Thoughts on Star Wars: Outlaws after finishing the main storyline (no major story spoilers, though some minor game spoilers).
Kay Vess is an amazing character. Her backstory and motivations are compelling, and her choices in the main story make perfect sense as a result of her experiences and history. She’s every bit as interesting as Cal Kestis, though obviously they’re vastly different people. I hope this game gets a sequel, or at least that Kay gets more story in some form (although her arc here definitely ends on a satisfying note). I’ve read that her voice actress, Humberly Gonzalez, has said she’d love to play Kay in a live action show or movie, and personally I’d love to see it. I don't know how likely that is, due to toxic incels boycotting and review-bombing the game just because it has a female protagonist, but I can certainly dream.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed ND-5; he’s like K-2SO from Rogue One in some ways, but a bit more ruthless, though just as loyal, and with much less sarcasm. It’s nice to see a droid with a rich and nuanced backstory of his own: his service in the Clone Wars, his complicated relationship to Jaylen, and the experiences he goes through in the main story as a result of all that. This is probably the most character development we’ve ever seen for a droid character.
Nix is a pure delight and, far from being just a cute sidekick, is actually a core gameplay element that you really miss in the few rare occasions when he’s gone. The rest of the characters who join Kay’s crew are really satisfyingly diverse in terms of alien species, personalities, and motivations of their own.
Outlaws is a great story on its own, with amazing characters and relationships and lore development, but it’s all the more richer if if you’ve read the Star Wars comics (specifically the 2020-2024 run that’s set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi—the same period that Outlaws is set in—and the Crimson Dawn offshoot series: War of the Bounty Hunters, Crimson Reign, and Hidden Empire) and know the story of what Q’ira is trying to do and how it fits into the larger story of the Empire’s fall. It’s nice to see Q’ira get more screentime and story development, as she was an enjoyable part of the Solo movie—although, really, what wasn’t memorable about that film? The game also does a good job at making the story significant in the larger Star Wars galaxy. It definitely has stakes that probably affected the outcome of the Galactic Civil War, but in completely different ways from the characters and their stories in the classic trilogy films, and that that don’t undermine any of their importance.
The story also doesn’t rely on gratuitous cameos, although there are certainly familiar faces. They tend to be more incidental to the story, though, which is how cameos should work.
The set of planets the game is set in are really interesting. Toshara, the only completely new planet, is well developed and probably gets the most attention, fittingly. It has a landscape and ecosystem that feels very recognizable when you see it in screencaps or video clips. The most similar planet we’ve seen to it would probably be Koboh from Jedi: Survivor, but there are plenty of differences between the two. Toshara has grasslands, lots of comets in the sky at night, and seems more populated, favoring outlaws, gamblers, and wind farmers rather than prospectors. The other three planets are ones we’ve seen before in at least some aspect: Tatooine, of course, everyone will recognize. You can explore much of the city of Mos Eisley, including lots of recognizable places from the films, and there’s further developemnt of Tusken culture as well as the fully explorable Jundland Wastes and several new settlements (no Tosche Station, sadly) (edit: I did find Tosche Station! And the Lars homestead! Now I'd just love to find Obi-Wan's house...). Kijimi and Cantonica are the next most recognizable, as they were both featured in the sequel trilogy. My personal favorite planet in the game, not just for the lush and beautiful landscape and climate, but also for its much more obscure connections to Star Wars lore, is Akiva: a torrid tropical jungle planet you’d only know if you’ve read the Aftermath trilogy of books by Chuck Wendig. Akiva, significantly, is the home planet of Temmin Wexley, who we meet as a teen in the books and as an adult (played by Greg Grunberg) in the sequel trilogy. The player even gets to meet Temmin as a teenager in Outlaws, although not, sadly, his droid Mister Bones.
The soundtrack by Wilbert Roget, II is iconic and very Star Wars. The most memorable tracks are “Kay Vess, The Outlaw,” “Toshara, the Amberine Savannah,” “The Empire vs the Outlaw,” “Leaving Jaunta’s Hope,” “Tatooine, the Desert Frontier,” “Mos Eisley,” “Nix,” “Akiva, the Jungle,” “The Broken Hoof,” “Finale - Kay’s Last Bet,” and “The Dawn Rises.” I tend to favor more atmospheric and more emotional/thematic music as opposed to tense, actiony music, but this game definitely has its fair share of the latter, too.
There are lots of minigames in Outlaws, the most significant of which is Sabaac, the infamous card game in which Han Solo won the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian. Lando does appear in the game, and you can play Sabaac against him. The rules aren’t super complicated, although it definitely took me a few rounds to figure everything out, and the game has a nice and easily accessible set of rules and tips if you forget what you’re doing. Also, appropriately for Sabaac’s nature as a game favored by rogues and scoundrels, there are several cheats you can learn/unlock as the game progresses. These are really helpful for winning against the high rollers, although to an extent you’re still relying at least partially on luck. The other minigames are less significant, though they’re fine for what they are: you can do (one on one) speeder races, bet on fathier races, and play arcade games. There are also a ton of collectibles, much more than in the Jedi games—anything from outfits for Kay and Nix, to ship, speeder, and blaster upgrades, ship and speeder cosmetics, as well as old Clone Wars transmissions, snippets of in-universe holodramas, local cuisine from each planet, and souvenirs for Nix.
I took so many screenshots in this game, which I’ll post the best of as soon as I have a chance to transfer and go through all of them.

Sharing Some OCs
Hi hey! I have uhh… a Jedi and a handful of half baked clone sketches I did when I was bored (there’s a few more but post is already long)
also this is a real long post and I apologize
——————————————————————————————————
Jedi OC
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dunno how effective his pole staff works but hey it’s cool and does exist canonically -
——————————————————————————————————
Clones - most of my sillies are clones rn. Currently I’m working out a battalion that’ll be my little clone collection but I also have an oddball squad that’s a little mix of canonical characters and ocs
451st Battalion Clones
Tumblr media
not all my babes are drawn out but a few are- they are incredibly rough though and we’re drawn when I was just finishing up the clone wars show
Commander Delgado/ CC-8933
Tumblr media
Captain Maverick/ CT-4751
Tumblr media
First Lieutenant Makeshift / CT-9663
Tumblr media
Second Lieutenant Krypt / CT-5769
Tumblr media
That’s it for my boys rn, but I’ll slowly start making my way through the rest of them- with my stuff still being fidgeted around I’ll most likely change the 451st boys into being 176th and go under my Jedi OC.
——————————————————————————————————
Marines
I have two marines Port/CT-3742 and Starboard/CT-5065. They got their names because of the directions of the numbers (Port’s are all facing left and Star’s are mostly facing right). But what’s silly about them is they’re always on opposite sides with Starboard seen on the left of Port and vice versa especially when they walk. Why is that you ask? Well it’s because while most clones are ambidextrous they still have preferred hands; for Port that’s his right and for Starboard it’s his left. They’re both little shits that when combined make one half of a braincell and that’s all they got and they definitely gaslight the shinies into thinking they have port and starboard mixed up. They were based off of two orcas with the same names.
Tumblr media
——————————————————————————————————
Oddball Squad Clones
so the oddballs are essentially clones that look too different or are deformed due to genetic degradation, you can think of them as being like 99 but being the precursors to the bad batch. As stated earlier it’s a mix between canon and non canon clones. As of right now there are
Two canon clones - Captain Vaughn and Commander Blackout
I have not drawn Commander Blackout but he has aniridia which is an eye condition where there is little to no pupil in the iris, causing vision issues. For him it’s not too severe, he needs some corrective measures in his helmet but can see even without them, but he does have light sensitivity and often gets migraines due to fluctuating pressure changes behind his eyes. He also has incredibly dark eyes and blackout styled tattoos that start from his upper back then go down to his pecs and down his arms, also has some on his calves.
Vaughn I have drawn- he has vitiligo that in the photo mainly collects on his face with multiple different layers of different skin pigmentation showing, but it is a full body thing (it even goes to his hair). But it’s one of the main reasons he keeps his helmet it on for long periods of time
Tumblr media
There’s 4 non canon clones right now: Whiteout, Zombie, Caid, and Discovery. Both Whiteout and Zombie have sketches but Discovery and Caid don’t.
Caid (Kade)
Caid’s thing is that he is completely mute due to the fact that his larynx never developed. He’s got some skin warping and scarring over his throat from it. He has quite of a few scars over his face and notably knuckles because he throws himself into every battle. He’s a little spicy and sassy. you can think of him as Bumblebee from the transformer series if you’ve seen that. Right now his backstory is a little wobbly but everyone in the oddball squad usually has multiple facets of training if they can. Caid mainly works as a nursery care taker and watching over the tubies and the other very young clones but he also goes on high stake reconnaissance missions to gather intel. The way he communicates is mainly though GHS (Galactic Hand Signing- my SW version of an international sign language) and he also has short field commands embedded into the com device in his vambrace (he usually has a data pad on him too to type out anything he needs).
Discovery
Discovery has two major deformities that affect his arms; his left arm barely ever developed and ends mid bicep and his right arm stops just after his elbow for a few inches. For this he was given cybernetic replacements but he’s mostly used as a lab rat for testing, he doesn’t like it but it hardly squashes his never ending child like curiosity with the world he’s been exposed to. Usually getting him in trouble with Vaughn and frequently visiting Whiteout, the medic.
Whiteout/ CT-8651
Whiteout has full albinism, from his skin to his eyes, and while they aren’t true twins- he and blackout consider themselves ones as they have been in the squadron the longest. Whiteout specializes in being a medic but also does pretty well with a sniper. He’s incredibly soft spoken and sweet and occasionally gets a stutter but he’s trying his best. Especially with Zombie watching over him now he feels safer to stand up for himself.
Tumblr media
Zombie
now .. the zombie explanation has to be a little lighter for the sake of ages and tumblr. I cant sugar coat this exactly but I won’t go into the nasty details.. Zombie got his name dude to the fact he was put back together with parts that belonged to other squad members. It was a suicide mission and none of them came back alive but they were used in an experiment by one of Nala Se’s apprentices. He got his name zombie 1) from his lack of talking 2) his usually stone cold or mildly agitated exterior and 3) from the fact his scarring show off how he was literally stitched back together.
He wasn’t originally part of the oddball squad since on his original body his only odd thing was the fact he and green eyes but after he comes back he very quickly gets pulled into it. He has an absolute soft spot for Whiteout and is the equivalent to scary attack dogs with separation anxiety

Whiteout and Zombie as of right now will eventually be tagged on to 104th with Wolffe and Caid might be going into 212th or works mostly under them for missions.
that’s all for now lovelies, thank you for reading!💕
