Artist friends, please don't use StickerMule

Full tweet
I've been on the "Fuck Stickermule" train for a few years now after they posted COVID conspiracy bullshit, and it was found out their CEO was a Trump / Anti-LGBTQ+ donor.
Take your business elsewhere. Just because they have good deals occasionally shouldn't mean they should be able to use your money to support shitty recipients.
Some businesses I'd recommend checking out:
StickerGuy -Been using Sticker Guy for like 15 years for my bands stickers over the years. They have some of the best vinyl stickers I've ever used and those things are practically indestructible. Ridiculously good prices too.
RockinMonkey - I've only ever used them for one run of holographic stickers but the quality is so good and I'd definitely go to them again if I were to get more printed.
StickerNinja - Never personally used but I've seen so many people recommend them and their quality shows on their socials. And I'm fairly certain they're BIPOC owned, super pro-LGBTQ+ and are very vocally Pro-Palestine which is a plus in my book!
StickerApp - has been getting a lot of positive feedback in the reblogs! Vograce - I've read some good things about them in the reblogs, and I've also seen some people on Tiktok showing off acrylic keychains they've made with their services!
EDIT [7/18/2024]:
Found this cool document full of information on other sticker / merch printers with a ton of comparisons and examples compiled by Theresa Chiechi! They also have a series of Tiktok videos linked on that page showing the different businesses they've tried. Be sure to check it out if you want a comprehensive look into your best options.
Please feel free to leave any other suggestions!

pairing: jack abbot x f!reader word count: 2.4k notes: part 3 of ex!reader and babydaddy!jack WAYYYYY fluffier than the prequel — a gift to me and all of you. Also I think this might be the last part??? unless any of you have questions or one shots you want to hear about these two 🥹
You’re late to Beau’s baseball game. Not wildly—just enough that your pulse is up, your hair’s a mess, and you feel that twist in your chest that only happens when Jack gets there first.
You scan the bleachers, hand shielding your eyes. He’s easy to spot. Legs stretched out, ball cap pulled low, hoodie sleeves pushed to his elbows. One arm draped across the bench beside him, claiming space.
Of course he saved you a spot.
“Christ,” you mutter, flopping into the seat beside him. “It’s mid-April. Why is it still so cold?”
Without missing a beat, Jack tilts his head toward the parking lot but reaches down at his feet. “There’s a coat in the car, but I’ve got a blanket here.”
He pulls out a slightly-rumpled camping blanket and offers it without looking—like this is just what you do now. Like he’s still the guy who knows when you’re cold before you say it.
You shake your head, tugging the sweatshirt you’ve been holding over your head.
“I’m good. Just needed this.”
Jack turns. Looks. And comically blinks.
It’s the team hoodie. The one the team mom handed out last week. Big enough to swallow you whole. Team logo on the chest. But it’s the back that gets him—ABBOT in bold block letters, above Beau’s number: 4.
You pretend not to notice how he’s staring. Pretend not to feel the way your stomach flips when his mouth opens, then closes, then opens again.
“God,” he finally breathes. “You could’ve warned a guy.”
You smirk, tugging the sleeves down over your hands. “What, and ruin the surprise?”
“You’re trying to kill me,” he mutters, low and hoarse. “You realize that, right?”
“It’s not like I put your name on it for you, Jack. There’s no player with my last name. I’m supporting our kid.”
His eyes drag down your body again—slower this time. Less surprised. More… appreciative.
“Right,” he says, blinking slow. “Supporting Beau. Totally normal. Not suggestive at all.”
“You’re being dramatic.”
“You’re being dangerous.”
You roll your eyes, but your cheeks are warm. It’s a losing game—trying not to feel everything you’re feeling. Want. Nostalgia. The sharp edges of maybe.
“He’s almost up to bat.”
Jack lifts his phone like he’s just remembered he has it. “Gotta document the moment. Hold still.”
You hear the shutter click.
“Send that to Robby and I’m never wearing it again.”
He grins as he taps the screen. “Too late. It’s already in the group chat. Dana’s gonna combust.”
You groan, leaning forward with your elbows on your knees. “You’re such a menace.”
But you feel his gaze still on you. Heavy. Intent. Like he’s remembering the nights he used to get to see you in nothing but one of his sweatshirts—and wondering if this counts.
He nudges your knee with his. “You know, it’s not too late to get one with your last name on the back.”
You glance sideways.
“I mean it.” His voice softens. The grin tugs at his mouth, but his eyes are steady. “You wear my name like that again, I might get ideas.”
Your breath catches—just for a second.
You look away, toward the field, voice deliberately casual. “Let’s just focus on the game, Romeo.”
But he leans in, not quite touching, his breath warm against your ear.
“Sure,” he murmurs. “For now.”
And when Beau steps up to the plate, Jack sits back with one arm stretched casually across the bench behind you, fingertips grazing the letters printed across your back.
–
The next weekend is Beau’s half-birthday—his idea, obviously—and while you and Jack didn’t plan a full-blown party, somehow it’s turned into one.
Robby’s manning the grill like he’s auditioning for Food Network.. A couple of interns are tossing a ball with Beau and his friends on the lawn. You’re watching from the shade with a drink in hand.
Jack sits beside you, presses a kiss to your temple like it’s second nature now. And it kind of is.
“You need anything?” he asks.
You hum a soft no, your shoulder brushing his.
Across the yard, Dana lowers her sunglasses and stares you down as she approaches.
“Well, well, well.” Her grin is pure mischief. “Look at you two. Domestic as hell.”
“You say that like it’s a threat,” Jack mutters, sliding his arm around your waist.
Dana smirks. “No, I say that like I’m preparing a toast for the wedding.”
You roll your eyes.
“Not yet,” Robby calls from the grill. “But someone got tagged in a very cozy park bench photo last week.”
Jack winces. “Jesus.”
“It’s okay,” you say, leaning into him. “People were always going to talk. At least now it’s about something we’re proud of.”
He glances at you—really looks—and nods once.
Just then, one of the neighborhood moms hustles over, diaper bag slung low. “Do you mind watching the baby for a few? Would love to pee in peace for the first time in years.”
“Been there,” you say, arms already out. “Take all the time you need.”
You settle with the baby, Jack beside you, the baby nestled against your chest. Comfortable silence settles between you.
“Now is this grill a time machine?” Robby shouts. “Feels like we’ve turned back the clock five years.”
Jack chuckles, leaning in to nibble the baby’s socked foot. “Yeah. I miss this age.”
You hesitate, heart in your throat. You’ve been dealing with major baby fever lately—but you never thought you'd get to feel this again. Not with him. Not here.
You bite the bullet. “Always thought I’d have two or three, y’know?”
Jack hums. “Never even thought I’d have one. But after Beau, I figured we’d end up with a whole football team.”
A neighborhood kid runs up and squints at you. “Mrs. Abbot… is this your baby?”
You laugh. “Nope, this is Mrs. Turner’s baby. I’m just holding her. My only baby is Beau—and he’s all grown up now.”
The kid nods solemnly and runs off.
“Tough crowd,” you murmur.
You turn—and find Jack still watching you.
“What?” you ask.
“Nothing,” he says, but there’s a quiet look on his face, “...you didn’t correct her on the last name.”
“She’s four. It's a bit complex to explain that yes, my son’s last name is Abbot, but mine isn’t.”
His lip quirks. You nudge his shoulder gently with yours.
–
It’s Beau’s Pre-K graduation and he’s somewhere outside, bounding around in his paper cap with the usual crew.
Inside, you’re balancing a lukewarm coffee in one hand and a paper plate of grocery store cookies in the other. Someone’s mid-way through an impassioned pitch about why you should join the PTA next year.
Jack’s at your side—polished enough for a school event, sleeves rolled, one too many button undone, looking every bit like a man who knows exactly what he’s doing. Present in a way that feels new. Like he wants people to know he’s here, with you.
You barely even catch the name slip: “So nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Abbot.”
Jack’s hand finds your hip, giving it a firm, familiar squeeze.
You smile without missing a beat.
The conversation wraps. You make polite excuses. You and Jack step out into the hallway toward the playground.
Behind you, the buzz of small talk fades.
“Felt kinda nice, didn’t it?” he says.
You roll your eyes. “I knew you were going to make a comment.”
You turn the corner—and he catches you. One arm braced against the wall, the other slipping around your waist, pinning you gently between him and the cinderblock.
“C’mon,” he murmurs, mouth brushing yours. “They called you Mrs. Abbot and you didn’t flinch.”
You shrug, breath hitching when he kisses the corner of your mouth.
“I told you,” he says, lips skating down your jaw, “you keep playing this game, it’s gonna give me ideas.”
“Maybe I want you to get ideas,” you whisper, fingers curling in the front of his shirt.
His mouth finds yours again—firmer this time. Slower.
Footsteps echo down the far end of the hallway.
You both break apart, laughing quietly.
“Down, boy” you say, smoothing your hair. “We’ve got a graduate to wrangle.”
Jack grins, still close. “For the record, Mrs. Abbot has a real nice ring to it.”
You laugh, “There are worse last names to be stuck with”.
But when he laces your fingers together and leads you out into the sun, you don’t let go.
–
It’s the last month of Beau’s summer break when you head out to the lake. Your parents will be there. Your sister and her kids. Jack’s brother and his family are driving in, too.
You’re panicking, of course. Jack is cool as a cucumber. Beau’s bouncing off the walls with excitement about a whole week of cousin chaos.
You gave your family a stern talk before you left. Be nice. You love him. Beau loves him. He’s doing the work. He’s different now. You’re making it work—and yeah, you’re scared—but you’re also the happiest you’ve ever been.
Naturally, you three are the last to arrive. Of course it’s your fault. One final Zoom dragged long and you left straight from Pittsburgh with your laptop still warm in your bag.
The cabin is palatial. Jack found it. He definitely went over budget, but you know he’d never charge your family. It’s just who he is now—present, generous, steady.
You send Jack and Beau to the backyard with the others while you start unpacking.
A soft knock on the doorframe makes you glance up. Your sister walks in and flops dramatically on the bed.
“Okay,” she says. “You didn’t tell me you replaced your ex with a well-adjusted clone. Where’d Dr. McBroody go?”
You laugh. “I know. It’s weird. You guys didn’t know him when we first started dating. He’s… back. The guy I fell in love with. I didn’t think I’d get that again.”
She hums, skeptical. “Then why are you still keeping him at arm’s length?”
“What?”
“Just trying to figure out why you’re still holding back when he keeps proving himself—over and over—from what I’ve heard and seen with my own two eyes.”
You glance out the window. Jack’s lifting Beau to dunk over the older cousins, both of them laughing.
You sigh. “I’m scared. I can’t go through that again.”
She softens. “You can’t live like that. Cut the poor man some slack. Either go all in, or cut him loose. But don’t keep him in limbo. It’s not fair.”
“I know,” you murmur, following her downstairs.
It’s a surprise when Jack books dinner for just the two of you on the last night of the trip. At the waterfront place you told him your parents went to every summer.
“You’ve got a house full of babysitters,” your dad says, shooing you out the door. “Go enjoy yourselves. Beau’ll be asleep before you’re back.”
It’s a quick drive, and Jack reaches for your hand over the console as soon as you hit the main road. His palm is a little clammy. Yours too.
“I think this might be the best week of my life,” you say, squeezing his hand.
He’s quieter than usual. But relaxed. Smiling.
At the restaurant, he rounds the car to open your door, hand warm on your lower back as he leads you in.
“Reservation for Abbot.”
“Ah yes—right this way, Mr. and Mrs. Abbot.”
You give him a look. “You paid them to say that.”
“I can neither confirm nor deny,” he says, smug as he pulls out your chair.
Dinner is easy. Familiar. Dreamy.
“Can I ruin the moment?” you ask.
“Nothing you say could ruin this.”
“I miss Beau. He’d hate it here—no kids menu. But I love our little unit.”
“I love our unit. I love Beau. I love you.” His fingers trace absentminded circles over your ring finger.
“I love you too.”
After dinner, you walk along the beach, your head resting against his shoulder. He leads you to the edge of a quiet pier.
“You know,” he says, voice soft, “we’ve been through a lot. And yeah, I’d change so much… but also nothing. Because it all got us here. And I know we’ve talked about this, kind of, but I still wanted it to feel a little traditional—”
You blink, heart racing. “Jack…”
“Just let me finish—before you turn me down, let me say this. I know I’m not perfect, but I’ve been trying. Really trying. And I think you’ve seen that. I think—” his voice catches. “I think we can do this. For real. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Tears are already slipping down your cheeks. “Jack. Just ask me the question.”
That snaps him out of it.
“Oh—right. Okay.” He drops to one knee, pulling a ring from his pocket. Your breath catches.
“Baby,” he says, eyes shining, “I know I don’t deserve you. But would you do me and Beau the honor of becoming an Abbot?”
You drop to your knees in front of him. “Yes. Yes. Yes.” You kiss him between each word.
He slides the ring onto your finger. You kiss him again, a little breathless.
“Alright,” he murmurs against your mouth. “Let’s get you home.”
In the car, you stare down at your hand.
“This ring is perfect. It looks just like my mom’s. It’s my dream ring.”
Jack chuckles. “It’s not like it. It is your mom’s.”
“What?”
“They knew how much you loved it. They gave it to me.”
You stare.
“We still can go ring shopping if it isn't what you want. But when I told them I was going to ask… they offered it. Thought it might mean more.”
“It does,” you whisper. “They know?”
“Of course they know. And Beau knows. And your sister. My brother. Robby. Half the ER. Even the grocery store checkout lady. I haven’t shut up about it.”
You laugh as he pulls into the driveway.
The house is dark, unusually quiet after a week of family chaos.
You lean across the console to kiss him, half-climbing into his lap. He grins against your lips but gently stops you.
“Let’s get inside first.”
You cock your head. “Since when are you the voice of reason?”
He rounds the car, opens your door, and leads you inside, where the lights flip on and the entire house bursts into shouts of “CONGRATULATIONS!”
Beau barrels into your legs and you scoop him up, laughing through tears as Jack presses a kiss to your temple. And for the first time, you don’t flinch when someone calls you Mrs. Abbot. You just smile, because it’s exactly who you are now.

I saw a post earlier that had quote from former KGB Head Yuri Andropov that was of interest.
The quote is "We had only to keep repeating our themes - that the U.S. and Israel were 'fascist, imperial-Zionist countries' bankrolled by rich Jews." Now, we know that much of the antisemitic rhetoric of the modern era has its roots in the former Soviet Union and has continued to be propagated by its successor. But this quote caught my attention and I wanted to find where it's from. Lo and behold I found that it is from an article written by Lt. General Ion Mihai Pacepa who was a former KGB intelligence officer that defected during the Cold War.
This article from 2006 by Pacepa is about how the Soviets created and instigated modern terrorism by exploiting the systemic antisemitism present in the Middle East and thereby pointing its operatives at Israel and the USA. This other article, written in 2012, builds on Pacepa's article with material stolen from archives by Pavel Stroilov as recounted by Claire Berlinski (note: Stroilov is apparently a pro-life type and a bit "out there" but that should not discredit the documents he stole and revealed to the public, nor the information they contain).
Pacepa refers to Sakharovsky as the "Father of International Terrorism",
Huh, interesting to see that Sakharovsky claims to have invented the airplane hijack as a means of terrorism.
This is the important part.
Read it again.
Then one more time. The Soviets intended to cause a Nazi-like hatred of Jews.
Pacepa then details how the "humanitarian efforts" of the USSR at the time had an alternative purpose to spread antisemitic hate and conspiracy. Doctors, engineers, professors, and other personnel that were sent to the Middle East in joint ventures were to spread the conspiracy that the USA was a "haughty Jewish fiefdom" that would "subordinate the entire Islamic world".
At no point is it not understood that Zionist equals Jew. The words are used interchangeably and are inextricably linked to one another.
Pacepa then details how by the mid 70s they had started printing and distributing Arabic versions of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and a falsified paper that alleged Israel and the USA were intending to "convert" the Islamic world into a Jewish colony.
In the Berlinski article it is stated that two documents appear for the first time in English in Stroilov's work detailing how the Soviets worked with and supported the PFLP.
Now, we all know the antisemitic Tankies are going to come across this writing and do everything they can to discredit defectors and persons who provide a counter narrative to the one they push. It's a time honored tradition at this point for them to try and defend the USSR and its actions and say anything bad that they did is actually Western propaganda and didn't actually occur, and if it did occur it's actually the victim's fault and not theirs.
Except it's a well established fact, at least amongst the Jewish community, that the "anti-Zionism, not antisemitism" deflection is of Soviet origin and was used to ethnically cleanse Jews. It's a well established fact that the Soviets used its Jewish members and had them turn on their own communities, and then imprisoned, tortured, killed or exiled those same people they used.
And here we have a former high ranking officer in the KGB who defected and details how antisemitism was weaponized and spread throughout the Middle East to foment violent terrorism. Which is why we see some of the biggest antisemitic anti-Zionist blogs on here spout rhetoric that is a mix of Islamist and Soviet talking points. Over the course of decades they have become inextricably linked.
So if you see any so called "anti-Zionist" blog on here calling Zionists "Nazis" then just know they are repeating Soviet era propaganda that was used to purposefully undermine peace processes, stoke Islamist antisemitic rhetoric, and cause violence against Jews.
#jumblr#antisemitism#leftist antisemitism#Soviet Antisemitism#It feels like that “how many times do we have to tell you old man” meme at this point#It's almost always goes back to Tsarist Russia or the USSR for modern antisemitism and the dog whistles people use#and all of this is because Israel decided not to become an authoritarian Communist country and ally with the Soviets#Imagine throwing a temper tantrum so big you create international terrorism

Amanda Marcotte at Salon (06.02.2025):
History will no doubt look upon the outcome of the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard with the same skepticism now applied to O.J. Simpson's 1995 acquittal after charges of his killing his wife and her friend. The 2022 trial, in which Depp sued Heard for defamation after she made anonymous allusions to domestic violence in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed, was a farce — by design. Depp hired publicist Melissa Nathan, who famously bragged she could "bury anyone," to seed social media networks with misogynist rumors about Heard, who had been 25 when she started dating the 48-year-old movie star. The New York Times later reported on Nathan's alleged tactics, based on court documents from a similar campaign against actress Blake Lively. The strategy, according to the Times, is "waging a largely undetectable smear campaign in the digital era," which succeeded when "online criticism of the actress skyrocketed." The evidence in Depp v. Heard, in a sane world, should have favored Heard. His claim to damages was that Heard's op-ed led to him losing his lead role in "Pirates of the Caribbean." A Disney executive denied this on the witness stand, and Depp's longtime talent agent testified that Depp's erratic behavior was what soured his reputation on set. As Jessica Winter at the New Yorker wrote during the trial, Heard produced "a trove of text messages, witness statements, and photos of injuries — which, she says, corroborate her allegations of abuse." Depp had previously sued a British tabloid for calling him a "wife-beater," and he lost, even though British law favors plaintiffs in defamation cases to an outrageous degree. The judge described Heard's side of the story as "substantially true."
[...] As that last sentence suggests, the case ended up being tried in the court of public opinion, where the preposterous story that Depp was the real victim took hold. Instructions to the jurors to ignore the crescendo of support for Depp outside the courtroom didn't matter, leading to a $15 million judgment in his favor. It's not clear how much of the pro-Depp clamor was seeded by his hired guns, but in the end, they were pushing on an open door. As journalist Kat Tenbarge reported for NBC at the time, content creators for TikTok and YouTube found that spreading sexist rumors about Heard was like printing money. There was an immense amount of public hunger in 2022 to forget all the lessons of the #MeToo movement, and instead fall back into the comfortable belief that sexism is a myth, women just make up stories for attention, and it's accused men who are the real victims.
This week is the third anniversary of the day that a jury favored Depp over Heard. Looking back, the whole situation can be read as a portent for the 2024 election of Donald Trump. The public outpouring of support for Depp reflected a widespread willingness to choose self-delusion over facing hard truths, especially about the dangers of male domination. For a lot of people, it's exhausting hearing about how many women are beaten, raped, killed, harassed, and otherwise oppressed. It can feel much easier to believe it's all just made up. It's simpler to believe that ours is a just system, even as men still hold the lion's share of power and money. It's comforting to imagine that men react to all their privilege with grace and gratitude, and ignore the reality where all too many abuse women because they can. Trump was selling the same message to his voters: Wouldn't it be easier to live in a fantasy where patriarchy is all kittens and rainbows? Isn't it easier to live in the lie than confront the hard truth?
[...] The far-right website Daily Wire spent an astonishing amount of money promoting anti-Heard propaganda during the trial, which confused many people at the time. The Daily Wire is a political outfit, so why would they care about celebrity gossip that doesn't seem to have any partisan value to it? But they understood that Heard v. Depp did benefit Republicans, especially Trump. The entire circus was useful for convincing people that it's okay to choose disinformation over the truth, especially when the facts make you feel bad. It all goes back to George Orwell's insight with the "two-minute hate" in "1984." Self-delusion takes practice. Defending Depp was boot camp for the real test: supporting the lie that Donald Trump would make a fine president.
The Depp v. Heard trial ended up being a decent predictor of the increased support for Trump in 2024 among young males.

this is the Gaza Family Funds Directory, a spreadsheet of palestinian families' gofundmes, sorted by the amount of support they've received thus far. please choose as many as you can from this list to donate to, even just a dollar.

in addition, the sheet also contains a link to a gdrive folder with designs for flyers/stickers that you can print out and place in your community. if you truly can't spare anything directly now, please consider doing this so you can get these links in front of people who can donate!
it also remains urgent to keep the people of palestine connected in the face of communication blackouts; please contribute esims! it is very easy to do and is fully explained on this page: https://gazaesims.com/
if you cannot afford the price of an esim individually, there's a campaign currently running on twitter to which you can contribute whatever you can afford ($1, $3, whatever) to a larger pool which will then be used to buy esims collectively. there's also the crips for esims for gaza fundraiser, which operates similarly. there are probably more than this! i chose these two for this post bc they are currently active + both have easily vettable proof of donation (screencaps in the qrts of the twitter campaign, financial accountability document in the crips for esims campaign.)
finally, look into local grassroots organizations in your area so you can stay in the loop on protest activity. many such orgs have accounts on instagram. if you are in the us, looking for local chapters of the PSL, the palestinian youth movement, or national students for justice in palestine can be a good start.
please, please, please: pick something here and do it. i know it can feel overwhelming and there may be an urge to tell yourself that you'll reblog this now and get around to it later. instead please choose one thing. even if it's just finding orgs in your area and following them so you'll be notified the next time there's a protest. even if it's just downloading the flyer designs and looking up a print shop where you can run off a stack of copies. make a decision to do something tangible right now, even if it's just a first step.
#this is not an exhaustive list of fundraisers or avenues of action at all. it's just what's in front of me right now#let seeing stuff like this be a jumping off point for looking more in-depth and finding stuff in your own area too#at the end of the day everything helps -- including just boosting things -- but to get anywhere we all need to individually engage#free palestine

It seemed like your job was getting better there for a minute under new management. Is it new management that's fucking up now, not "fixable", or is it holdovers from the old guy?
So my company, formerly owned by Gary, was "Strangled Bats LLC". The company that bought us is "BunnyCorp Inc." Late last year, BunnyCorp Inc hired "Bruno" as our new CEO. The middle management are Bunnies from BunnyCorp.
Gary was a shithead who abused his employees but he was a stickler for documentation, standards, and naming conventions. Even though we lost a lot of documentation when BunnyCorp let Strangled Bats' CRM subscription lapse, I was able to save a bunch of PDFs and we actually still have printed copies of a BUNCH of our documents. Strangled Bats LLC was a terrible place to work and was very old-fashioned on some things, but we save our papers.
BunnyCorp Inc has a lot of very friendly bunnies in management who are cuddly and cute and easy to get along with and wouldn't know a configuration manager if it bit them in the ass. BunnyCorp was interested in acquiring and absorbing many companies to become one big company and cared more about purchasing companies (and therefore their client bases) than it cared about integrating those companies into itself OR than it cared about making notes on its customers.
Bruno has a long history of working in MegaBigCo and making things very efficient. When Bruno was hired as CEO, BunnyCorp officers did a great job of putting a good face forward and making it look like they had their shit together. By the time Bruno started, I had been working at BunnyCorp for three months and had mostly been focused on trying to get Strangled Bats' systems to mesh with BunnyCorp.
In January, Bruno had been with the company long enough that he started making changes to make things more efficient, because he'd been there long enough to see that there were some problems. At that point, I had started to notice that it seemed like we were duplicating an awful lot of work that was no longer related to issues with un-meshed systems, because I had meshed a lot of our systems. I got promoted and started training someone to take over the simpler parts of my job and was given the responsibility of looking into a lot of our contracts and agreements.
In March, the shit hit the fan and Bruno and I simultaneously realized that BunnyCorp Inc had been papering over a vast chasm of problems, most of which had to do with:
people with institutional knowledge leaving because they were underpaid
previous owners being shit at documentation
nobody except LITERALLY FUCKING ME knowing what modern server hardware standards and pricing should be
solutions for clients that were built with an eye toward reducing cost in the moment rather than planning for growth or longevity
Bruno has good thoughts about improving stuff, thoughts that I support and think are a great idea and think we should try to implement, but he's also a MegaBigCo kind of guy and likes to let employees grind to prove that they're dedicated and worthy of a promotion/raise - this is a shitty attitude that I think is counterproductive and I think is on the verge of leading our entire senior staff into burnout, but he's not at all wrong about the changes that need to be made. Bruno found out that a bunch of our clients don't have spare server drives onsite and shit a brick because of how badly he wants us to get spare server drive to the client sites; he is willing to eat the cost if it means we can get spares to the clients. That's great, it's not wrong, and there aren't enough hours in the day for me to get that done and also do procurement.
Bruno is only just now seeing the tip of the iceberg in terms of how utterly fucked our documentation is; if Bruno is the captain of the ship telling us where to steer, I'm the lookout on deck who sees the icebergs before anybody else.
I have been shouting to the Bunny management about icebergs since December and the ship hasn't changed course; Bruno has directed us to put more coal in the boilers and speed up and to patch up some holes and scrape some barnacles off the hull, but I can't shout loud enough to get the Bunnies to pass on the message about the iceberg, so all I can do is make notes about where the iceberg is an when we hit it provide the notes that I took that the Bunnies ignored so that maybe we can start patching up the breaks before water floods in and kills us all.
Things were great for a while because I was no longer working with an actively abusive shithead. Working with Gary was like sighting icebergs on the deck of a ship that leaked a bit and avoided icebergs deftly, but I was left to freeze on the deck all the time because freezing on the deck was all I was good for. Getting acquired by BunnyCorp was like someone handing me a warm coat and telling me to go inside and have a cup of tea and sit by the fire. But then I realized that the niceness and the okayness with taking time off and the slight raise were very comforting but someone still had to go out on deck and watch for icebergs but now nobody is passing on the message that we need to steer away from the fucking icebergs because if you say there's an iceberg that might make someone feel bad and making people feel bad is counter to the BunnyCorp company culture.
I have a constant drumbeat in my head that says "I can fix this, I can fix this, I can fix this." If I work late and go get the info for all the firewalls that I can access, and share info with the team about the ones I can't access, I can update the documentation and fix this. If I get notes on all the servers, and get spares for every machine, and get the techs scheduled to go out and install, I can fix this. If I can go in to the configurations for all five thousand computers and manually check and archive all the old devices, and manually update a field for every one of the two thousand windows 10 machines, maybe our team of sixteen can replace twelve hundred and upgrade eight hundred computers at our two hundred client sites in the next five months. If only I can go through all of those two thousand configurations and update that field before I get dragged away to another phone call from a client or another meeting about how the next acquisition is going to go, so I better do it now, at eight pm at ten pm at midnight at two am when there's nobody to call and no meetings scheduled. If I could just *lock in* I can save us, I can make sure the clients are getting a good turnaround time on their requests and I can make sure the licenses are all getting renewed because I updated all the configurations and I will update all the configurations going forward and I will document this company at knifepoint and I will hold it together with duct tape and spite and I will make it work i will make it work nobody else is doing anything I have to make it work because that's an iceberg, I know some of them see the iceberg, and they're Bunnies and I'm a Bat, some of them have seen this iceberg long before I could see it but they're not turning but if I yell about it and make notes about it and lock in and document it and skip lunch and skip lunch and skip lunch and skip lunch and skip lunch and take half a break so that I can get another device off the list maybe THEN they'll act like there's an iceberg ahead and they'll turn and I won't have to fly off the deck and go find another ship and I can stay on the boat with my friends and the nice bunnies and it will be okay, it will feel like it did after Gary was gone and I could BREATHE and people said that I was smart and good at my job and I deserved more money and I had been treated badly and there were no icebergs because it was so bright and sunny and nice that the whole sea looked like dazzling snow and seemed soft and safe and like I wouldn't have to keep freezing on the deck to stay alive.
So.
You know.
There have been ups and downs. I'm having some trouble staying motivated and even with some decent management it's difficult to orient the team toward the metrics we need to meet in q3 to stay solvent and keep our forward momentum up.
I'm considering sniping our customers and starting my own business, nobody makes the office admin sign a non-compete.

RISOSF9450EIIU - Is a zine made during my stay at Pencil Urchin Press and was created in collaboration with P.U.P co-founder Devyn Park.
The photography present within the zine was documented with our respective Nintendo 3DS systems in and around Kona, Hawaiʻi. The captured images were subsequently paired with iconography relating to both the 3DS and Risograph machine. The visual dialogue between the textural and variable nature of both the 3DS picture quality and Risograph prints create a hazy, dreamscape that welcomes readers to treasure outdated/niche methods of image making.
The zines are staple-bound 8 page booklets, printed in cornflower blue, yellow, fluorescent pink, and black inks on an SF9450 duplicator.
To learn more about the project click here!
And if you'd like to support me and get your own copy of the zine you can find them here!

What is Dataflow?
This post is inspired by another post about the Crowd Strike IT disaster and a bunch of people being interested in what I mean by Dataflow. Dataflow is my absolute jam and I'm happy to answer as many questions as you like on it. I even put referential pictures in like I'm writing an article, what fun!
I'll probably split this into multiple parts because it'll be a huge post otherwise but here we go!
A Brief History
Our world is dependent on the flow of data. It exists in almost every aspect of our lives and has done so arguably for hundreds if not thousands of years.
At the end of the day, the flow of data is the flow of knowledge and information. Normally most of us refer to data in the context of computing technology (our phones, PCs, tablets etc) but, if we want to get historical about it, the invention of writing and the invention of the Printing Press were great leaps forward in how we increased the flow of information.
Modern Day IT exists for one reason - To support the flow of data.
Whether it's buying something at a shop, sitting staring at an excel sheet at work, or watching Netflix - All of the technology you interact with is to support the flow of data.
Understanding and managing the flow of data is as important to getting us to where we are right now as when we first learned to control and manage water to provide irrigation for early farming and settlement.
Engineering Rigor
When the majority of us turn on the tap to have a drink or take a shower, we expect water to come out. We trust that the water is clean, and we trust that our homes can receive a steady supply of water.
Most of us trust our central heating (insert boiler joke here) and the plugs/sockets in our homes to provide gas and electricity. The reason we trust all of these flows is because there's been rigorous engineering standards built up over decades and centuries.
For example, Scottish Water will understand every component part that makes up their water pipelines. Those pipes, valves, fitting etc will comply with a national, or in some cases international, standard. These companies have diagrams that clearly map all of this out, mostly because they have to legally but also because it also vital for disaster recovery and other compliance issues.
Modern IT
And this is where modern day IT has problems. I'm not saying that modern day tech is a pile of shit. We all have great phones, our PCs can play good games, but it's one thing to craft well-designed products and another thing entirely to think about they all work together.
Because that is what's happened over the past few decades of IT. Organisations have piled on the latest plug-and-play technology (Software or Hardware) and they've built up complex legacy systems that no one really knows how they all work together. They've lost track of how data flows across their organisation which makes the work of cybersecurity, disaster recovery, compliance and general business transformation teams a nightmare.
Some of these systems are entirely dependent on other systems to operate. But that dependency isn't documented. The vast majority of digital transformation projects fail because they get halfway through and realise they hadn't factored in a system that they thought was nothing but was vital to the organisation running.
And this isn't just for-profit organisations, this is the health services, this is national infrastructure, it's everyone.
There's not yet a single standard that says "This is how organisations should control, manage and govern their flows of data."
Why is that relevant to the companies that were affected by Crowd Strike? Would it have stopped it?
Maybe, maybe not. But considering the global impact, it doesn't look like many organisations were prepared for the possibility of a huge chunk of their IT infrastructure going down.
Understanding dataflows help with the preparation for events like this, so organisations can move to mitigate them, and also the recovery side when they do happen. Organisations need to understand which systems are a priority to get back operational and which can be left.
The problem I'm seeing from a lot of organisations at the moment is that they don't know which systems to recover first, and are losing money and reputation while they fight to get things back online. A lot of them are just winging it.
Conclusion of Part 1
Next time I can totally go into diagramming if any of you are interested in that.
How can any organisation actually map their dataflow and what things need to be considered to do so. It'll come across like common sense, but that's why an actual standard is so desperately needed!

Good Articles on fur, fashion, and sustainability
I found a journalist who has been covering fashion for 15 years, who has written some great articles about the fur industry and sustainability. If you're really interested in these topics, here is some insight at Amy Odell's Back Row blog:
TL:DR: The fur industry has been shrinking for years as production and/or sale of new fur products gets banned in countries, states, and cities, and as clothing producers go fur-free.
An aside: an animal rights group put out what they say are leaked documents from the International Fur Federation. (PDF) Page 7 says "don't shoot the messenger" because, from their own analysis, the future of the fur industry doesn't look especially thriving.
TL:DR: Despite interviewing lots of textile sustainability experts, no one has been able to point to any good unbiased studies supporting or denying that claim. But then, lots of industries claim they're the "green option" without it being necessarily proven scientifically. That's capitalism!

Super Phantom
Writing prompt #3
Danny reveals his ghost half to his parents and they took it well accepting him. As a result the doctors Fenton then backed out of the weapons deal they had with the GIW and are actively protecting Phantom from them.
The GIW don’t give up even after the anti ecto acts are being repealed and sabotaged the gas tank for Nasty Burger’s grill. This causes the explosion that would Kill Danny’s family and friends there for Jazz’s graduation celebration. Clockwork foresaw of a Dan event happening and froze time to take and de-age Danny, Jazz, Sam, Tucker and Vallarta. (Clockwork is a jerk and frankly blames Jack and Maddie for making the he portals that caused both Vlad and Danny’s halfa status and a lot more work for him. He is letting those two die.)
Clockwork then sends the Deaged to babies/toddler to different places in the Yong Justice cartoon DC universe. All the kids are liminal and have powers.
Jazz now a 3 year old is sent to Hippallita on Themescira. (Excuse my spelling) liminal powers make her strength on par with Amazons.
Sam, age 1 as well and sent to Giovanni Zattarra. Three year old Zatana gets a younger sister that also has the gift of magic. Especially nature/plant magic.
Tucker I had a hard time deciding but eventually chose Lucius Fox. (If you can think of someone better go ahead and make suggestions.)
Vallarie was Supposed to be sent to Ted Kord, but Lex Luthor was trying to tap into the watchtower’s zeta tubs but accidentally got clockwork’s portal instead. It cased he basket to be dropped instead of gently set down. Startled, two year old Vallarie instinctively activates her ghost tech armor. Now that is a curious unexpected asset Lex will find a way to utilize.
And finally deaged to one year old Danny is sent in a in a basket with a solar system print blanket with a envelope sitting on top. The portal opens and the basket is carefully set on the table with the note. Then clockwork places a folder thick with other papers of to the side. He retreats into the portal closing it behind him just as the apartment door is opening.
Clark Kent has just finished his third week of work at the Daily Planet, the evening patrol and even grocery shopping. Thoughts of the paper he needs to write and turn in the morning are on his mind as he enters his apartment in time to notice a Green glow wink out of existence from his kitchen door. He drops the now forgotten grocery bags when he hears the tiny heartbeat and rushes over to the basket on the table.
A sleeping baby. A baby! Wha- how had anyone. When his brain stops stalling he notices the letter. It reads:
Superman,
The boy’s name is Danny. You are the most likely to survive him learning to use his powers as they emerge. His parents died trying to protect him. It is not safe for him here.
I have already forged the legal documents naming you as his godfather and a cover story in the attached folder. Also three gold coins will be sent to you each month as child support. If anyone else looks at this letter the text will change to simply read that you are the godfather of this recently orphaned boy.
Clockwork.
Clark stood in shock rereading the letter in shock a dozen times. Before Lois snapped him out of it.
“Hey Smallville, it may not be Gotham but even in Metropolis you shouldn’t just leave your door open.” She called as she entered from the hall. Then she noticed the spilled bags of groceries on the floor. And came in. “Are you ok? You may be a klutz but you always pick u- Oh My God, That’s a Baby!”
Well that is enough for tonight. I will add on more later. Wonder how quickly this would grow if I don’t tag anyone? Eh just a few. @bloggerspam @confusedshades @hypewinter @zylev-blog @kizzer55555
#dpxdc#dp x dc#dc x dp#dcxdp#danny phantom#the Pham are deaged and sent to the DC universe.#being liminal means they all have powers#Clockwork is a jerk#Danny and his friends will be raised and sidekicks to DC heroes#Danny raised by Superman#Jazz Raised as an Amazon and thought to be a gift from Greek god Kronos#Sam will be Zatanas little sister#Tucker raised by Lucius Fox around Wayne Enterprises#oh ho Valarie ends up with Lex#but that may not turn out how you think it would

New Resource! Customizeable-to-you toolkit to help you keep and organize all your healthcare information.
"Of the many things you’ll need to manage for yourself in life at some point — and if you’re a person in your teens or 20s, probably need to already do to some degree or will need to start doing soon — managing your own healthcare may be one that feels particularly complex, all the more so if you’re disabled or chronically ill. In an era where healthcare systems around the world, be they private or public, keep becoming increasingly more difficult to access and navigate, and where what care we can access and how we access it may be threatened, limited or in a state of flux, it can all feel especially overwhelming. That’s why we created this toolkit to help you organize, chronicle, sort through, and communicate your healthcare needs for yourself and anyone else involved in the care and keeping of you and your body. It’s only going to be full of the information about you, your health, and everything involved that you provide. You can change up any headings or sections that don’t work for you, and you can use this in digital spreadsheet, digital or word document, printed or DIY-journaling form, whichever works best for you. You can also think about this toolkit as a way of organizing some parts of your care web, a personal community and living system of care and support. The idea of care webs generally positions them as being about mutual or reciprocal support, and you may have roles in your own care web that are about the help you give others. This is for the care, and supports for that care, that you need, and a tool for you to organize your own care. The three of us who’ve co-created this are all people who have long had varied, ongoing and complex healthcare needs. One of us gets their care through a national healthcare system, and two of us have used public health and private insurance. The form itself is even based on the form one of us — s.e. — created for himself and still uses to manage his own care."

Much like monkeys swinging from branch to branch, some parrots can swing through the trees with the greatest of ease, scientists have learned. But these colorful birds grip the branches with an unusual appendage: their beaks. Rosy-faced lovebirds can use their adaptable beaks as a third limb that supports them even as they swing like gibbons and spider monkeys. In research published Tuesday in Royal Society Open Science, scientists describe how the parrots hung underneath a 3D-printed “branch” and moved along by using their beaks and hind legs in tandem to alternately grasp, swing like a pendulum, let go and reattach themselves a few inches farther along.
