Can I ask what’s the general opinion on the Marseille accent? What do Canadians think of it? Is it fancy? Or rough?

also i don't speak for all Franco Canadians / Québécois. fiy. ya know.

as a Québécoise first and foremost (Canadian comes 2nd in how i view my identity), and as someone WHO HAS A MOREAU FROM MARSEILLES in my close family, i love the accent. to me it's somehow much less grating than the Parisian accent (not the international French accent, that one's ok) despite being much more pronounced and how do you say... quirky? not weird, but like it's definitely peculiar. special! i like it a lot. it also makes me love Jean Moreau even more because it adds character, an edge, another area of fondness. i personally think it's very easy to spot, but contrary to the north of France, it's easier to understand.

i would say the most northern accents are much rougher, more difficult to understand than Marseilles or Paris, also because of the disparity in colloquialisms and regional expressions. but i do love them so. Bourgogne?? Normandie?? oh how lovely. and then down down down down south, neighbor to Marseilles, l'Occitanie (a fave)!!! oh and la Corse!!! so so beautiful to me. music to my ears. maybe bc, as Québécoise, like i said, i feel a little kinship with those regions' accents, bc the Paris/Île-de-France spit upon our accents as shitty, ridiculous, "not real French" or generally make fun of us, like we're somehow less smart bc of the way we pronounce things and speak with our accent. in my experience! and trust me, i've had a lottttttt of 'em. so the little scene where Jean keeps being annoyed by Thea calling him 'Paris' when he's from Marseilles? ACCURATE & GOLDEN! made me smile.

that being said, as it has been discussed many many times in the fandom, characters like Neil, Kevin and Jean, and even Andrew and Nicky, have such wild backgrounds, with how much they move around geographically + their mixed heritage, that all of them must have unique accents you can't really pin down. Jean left Marseilles at 14, was homeschooled, then forced to learn Japanese then English, in West Virginia, from native Japanese speakers. he doesn't have the Marseilles slang, the refs; his French is stuck at that level and it can't progress, and he also probably loses a lot of it, breaking down over time. finding his words must be a a nightmare. imagine trying to translate a word that isn't even considered French nor translatable outside of Marseilles' region!!! also, how old were his parents? what generation of slang has he picked up by default? or was he, sadly, taught international French?

SO MANY QUESTIONS! UGH! aftg & languages, French specifically, give me a headache (and heartache) every time.

i would say, watch films and series! please! from every part of the Francophonie around the world! Belgium, Louisiana Cajun, Acadia, Québec, Marseilles, Niger... it's a beautiful language, despite his devastating shameful hand in colonization and racism. the way the people forced to learn and speak it to survive have all found ways to make it theirs in infinite ways that help the language evolve and become richer. French is as much theirs now, if not more. French is much more that than the Republic. French is not Paris.

  La chrysomèle de l'ambroisie, remède miracle ?

Ophraella communa, la chrysomèle de l’ambroisie est un insecte qui se nourrit des feuilles d’ambroisie à feuilles d’armoise, pouvant parfois entraîner la mort de la plante. Cet insecte constitue un agent biologique à fort potentiel dans la lutte contre la plante. Toutefois, la chrysomèle consomme d'autres espèces végétales comme le tournesol ou le topinambour.

  Dans le Nord de l'Italie, la présence de l'insecte a permis une réduction des émissions de pollen estimée à 80% ! La présence de chrysomèle a été signalée plusieurs fois durant l'été 2023 dans la région lyonnaise. Une découverte qui pourrait bien représenter un tournant dans la lutte contre ces plantes au pollen allergisant.

Welterbe (auf)gespürt und (er)fahren - F - Zisterzienserabtei von Fontenay

Fontenay ist eine der stimmungsvollsten Klosteranlagen, die ich bisher besucht habe. Der bunte Herbsttag heute verstärkt ihre Romantik zusätzlich. Die Zisterzienserabtei Fontenay, gelegen in der Weinregion Bourgogne, wurde 1119 vom Heiligen Bernhard gegründet. Das Kloster steht seit 1981 auf der UNESCO-Welterbeliste. Mit seiner sehr schlichten und bescheidenen romanischen Kirche, dem Kreuzgang und dem Refektorium, den Schlafräumen und dem Wärmeraum sowie der Bäckerei und der Eisenhütte ist es ein hervorragendes Beispiel für das Ideal der Selbstversorgung, die von den frühesten Gemeinschaften der Zisterziensermönche praktiziert wurde. Die Eisenhütte aus dem Ende des 12. Jahrhundert zeugt von der Rolle der Zisterzienser für den technischen Fortschritt im Mittelalter und ist eines der ältesten Industriegebäude Frankreichs.  Nach einer Fahrt durch die herbstbunte Zauberlandschaft liegt Fontenay vor mir im Tal an einem Flüsschen. Dunkelroter Wein rankt an den Mauern, es ist die schönste Jahreszeit für eine Besuch. Noch ist es zeitig am Tag und ich bin ich fast alleine im Klostergarten unterwegs, höre nur die Brunnen plätschern und die Vögel singen.

Die Basilika von Fontenay (erbaut ab 1139) ist klar gegliedert, ihr Aufbau folgt den symbolischen Zahlen der Zisterzienser. Entsprechend der Ordensregeln ist sie auch nicht verziert oder geschmückt. Alleine die überlebensgroße Steinstatue der „Madonna von Fontenay“ aus dem 13. Jahrhundert zieht die Blicke auf sich. Sie wirkt lebendig, könnte fast eine Mutter mit ihrem Kind von heute sein.

Der große Kreuzgang ist ebenfalls ein romanisches Meisterwerk, schlicht, symmetrisch und akkurat gearbeitet.

Darüber befindet sich das Dormitorium, hier schliefen alle Mönche. Im ganzen Kloster gab es eine nur einzige beheizte Wärmestube.

Ich gehe weiter durch die hinteren Teile des Klostergartens, die Gebäude spiegeln sich in den Wasserbecken. Ich komme am Kräutergarten, der Krankenstation und am Taubenhaus vorbei.

Die Schmiede mit ihrem von einem Wasserrad angetriebenen Fallhammer war eine wichtige Einnahmequelle des Klosters. Mit den hier hergestellten Werkzeugen konnten die Mönche die für ihre Selbstversorgung benötigten Waren zukaufen.

Ein Rundgang, der mir im Gedächtnis bleiben wird, geht zu Ende. Die ersten Busse kommen an. Ich statte noch dem kleinen Museum in der ehemaligen Bäckerei einen Besuch ab und begebe mich auf die Weiterfahrt.

Resümee

Das Kloster Fontenay ist wunderschön gelegen und voller Romantik. Ein Besuch der Zisterzienserabtei ist nicht nur eine Zeitreise, sondern auch eine für Sinne. Das Kloster strahlt Ruhe und Atmosphäre aus. Beim Rundgang durch den Garten und die Gebäude erfährt man interessante Dinge aus dem Leben der Mönche. Ich habe bei meinen Klosterbesuchen schon oft vom Know How der Mönche bei der Landbewirtschaftung , Bergbau oder Technik gehört. Hier konnte ich eine der ältesten Schmieden anschauen. Für mich steht fest - Fontenay, immer wieder und zu jeder Jahreszeit. Dobbys Einrichtung und Ausstattung hat sich auch im Novemberwetter bewährt. Li Zeyan is a Capricornus and has blood type A. 

He was kidnapped when he was little, but was lucky enough to escape successfully. 

Started his own business when he was 20; Huarui* became one of the largest corporate groups within the country when he was 28. 

Likes classical music. Will attend concerts if he has the time.

When he was young, his father adopted a panda in his name at the Loveland City Zoo. The panda was named Yanyan.

Going to bed and waking up early is part of his routine. Occasionally, he will go for a morning jog.

Likes classic films, and has watched quite a few French romance films. 

Very good at dissipating any negative emotions he might have. When he’s feeling uneasy, he likes to look down upon the city from a high place. 

Has superb kitchen skills, and especially adept at French cuisine. His three signature dishes are beef bourguignon, bouillabaisse, and escargot de bourgogne.

L’aspergillose est une grave maladie causée par une moisissure dont certaines souches résistent aux antifongiques. Or, ces mêmes antifongiques sont utilisés en agriculture, ce qui pourrait participer du problème.

  "... De 2012 à 2018, 1661 cas de cette maladie ont été recensés dans notre pays, avec un taux de mortalité de 42,5 % chez les patients ayant par ailleurs une maladie du sang, lesquels représentaient 60 % des cas d’aspergillose invasive.

Émergence de souches résistantes aux médicaments

Le traitement de l’aspergillose nécessite le recours à des médicaments antifongiques. Les azolés agissent en bloquant la fabrication d’un composant important de la membrane cellulaire des champignons, l’ergostérol. Ce sont des thérapeutiques qui allient l’efficacité et une bonne tolérance pour les patients.

  Ceux-ci sont utilisés pour traiter non seulement les êtres humains, mais aussi les animaux. Par ailleurs, ils sont également largement employés comme fongicides en agriculture (de pleins champs, maraîchère, viticole), dans les scieries et en horticulture, afin de lutter contre les champignons qui s’attaquent aux plantes (phytopathogènes) ou au bois (lignivores).

  Or, lorsque les fongicides azolés sont appliqués dans l’environnement, ils ont un impact non intentionnel sur Aspergillus : ils éliminent les souches sensibles et favorisent, par pression de sélection, celles qui se sont adaptées à ces molécules azolées. Résultat : des souches insensibles aux fongicides azolés se développent."
