"gestures & sounds & nonverbal communication is (no tech) AAC. (AAC = augmentative & alternative communication. nonverbal communication = communication without words/language, not communication from nonverbal people)
"texting, writing, posting on social media, all actually accepted versions of AAC."
or thjs very old post from 2023 by assistiveware, an AAC company, creator of proloquo series:

[ID: screenshot of @ AssistiveWare instagram post. post itself is light purple background with dark purple text. bold text read “Social media, texting and tweeting are basically large scale socially accepted AAC systems." below that not bold text say " - Saoirse Tilton, AAC user." at very bottom have AssistiveWare contacts and logo. end ID]
are all things have heard people say when try explain to people who have no idea what AAC is.
is this true? are these AAC? are people who use these thus AAC users?
other AAC users may feel differently, n by no means am dictator of AAC, but as someone who nonverbal full time AAC user, personally really hate this, disagree - or at least disagree w this unnuanced explanation, especially when use with beginners or people who never in their life heard acronym AAC. find it counter productive, even more harm than good.
or, say different, personally: gestures, body language, mouth sounds, drawing, texting, writing, social media, these not AAC by default. in certain situations/context, AAC users may use these as AAC or AAC-adjacent (context-dependent, user-dependent). but saying “all these AAC” without more explain & nuance, false & irresponsible.
because, again, AAC, stand for augmentative and alternative communication. or, put into sentence, typically seen as "non-oral/mouth speech communication that augment (add to) and/or use as alternative to (replace) oral/mouth speech."
(* say "typically" because there people who can't spell thus can't type, who use button-based AAC to replace that. but this typically not what people mainly mean when say "AAC")
but, include & on top of all that, in current world AAC have extra layer of connotation (idea/ feeling/association on top of what it literally mean) of... it not standard. it not typical. it not the norm. it transgressive. people/norm expect something. u giving them another.
for better—me be nonverbal AAC user do make me different than verbal people, do give me different access needs, in world not designed for me. it make me different (unique). n want that difference acknowledged, instead of toxic positivity assimilation "you just the same" out of pity only
or for worse—be treat as second class citizens. oral speech be seen as better than AAC. have communication AAC not listened to or thrown out, which some AAC users have experienced in legal/law/police/abuse report situations. we treated differently (worse).
people whose mouth speak works won't use AAC. AAC is what come next when that not work or may not work.
different (positive). different (neutral). different (negative).
transgressive.
.
people w complex communication needs, n by extension AAC users, we treated horribly by society & by people in society. we get teased, bullied, ignored, abused, abused & not able communicate it, but we not just get mistreated on individual-level. often we denied right to communicate, right to education, n other human rights. many of us forced to live in silence, because we not given communication tools, or support for develop communication. sometimes police, testimonies, & official legal records not see our AAC communication as real communication.
our non-oral speech communication get seen as less legit than oral speech. other people’s oral speech get automatic listened to before our own. we denied communication tools that may help us thrive because people around us want us to speak orally & think any other tool will take away our hypothetical chance to talk fluently reliably via mouth.
everyone communicate in variety of ways. body language on purpose, body language not on purpose, gestures, pointing, vocal sounds, drawing, writing, texting, via showing pictures. for most verbal people, these communication are normalized. no one bat an eye when person giving speech use body language persuade audience, or when you show friend picture of your lunch when you struggling explain it. but us, who can’t fully rely on oral speech, we need rely on these more. heavier. more intentionally. more on purpose. but ours gets dismissed. gets ignored on purpose.
so, really do understand trying to reframe AAC to people who not know what it is, or people resistant to it. that we all use it. that they use it. that they listen to other verbal people who using it. so ours should be listened to, too.
but that’s the thing: everyone communicate in variety of ways. n for most verbal people, those are normalized.
make text post in social media where expect text post norm is text post suppose to write text (may even not have audio option), and, use non-mouth speak communication (or not use mouth speak) in person when all people mouth talk all expect you mouth talk. fundamentally different.
second thing get you ableism. get make fun & mock at best, in conversation get ignored at best. at worst, get hate crimed, get killed, get wrong convicted, or in medical situation see as justify for not need consent or reason ignore what you say or reason declare incompetent.
first thing. well, who get be on social media full of privilege & discrimination, who get heard on social media full of that, who get bully & make fun of for writing "wrong" for content full of that (race, class, dis/ability, etc). but, struggle think of time where act of make text post on social media where expect post text post is.. that.
there difference between writing text post in tumblr or any text-based social media, or text fun friend group where you all miles apart n all texting, vs texting in group chat when sit irl with friend group who all orally talking, different, or person using letter board to spell out everything they want to say.
there difference between showing your friend picture of your dinner when it too complicated to explain n clearer in picture when you bump into eachother n start mouth chatting, vs using symbol based communication in high tech speech generating device or low tech picture cards, or even AAC user having unique relationship with art n see that as way of communicate.
maybe in another world or in future, second group get as normalized as first. but we not there. and AAC users who use most basic, fundamental, narrowest definition of AAC, we exist right now in real life, we not theory or theoretical.
in average face to face situation, even verbal person use more nonverbal communication than verbal ones.
are all communication that not oral speech, AAC?
trying to normalize AAC, but end up erasing our differences (differences can be factual. neutral.), assimilating us, turning a word that have specific meanings for us into something so wide, it useless to those of us who most impacted, those of us who need it.
there better way to explain we all use things other than oral/mouth speech to communicate than “they *are* AAC” for everyone, in every situation. (n yes, people DO say that)
if anyone with similar feelings with simpler way put it, please do. it too complex n abstract in brain, n not have scripts or “table of contents” in brain that already exist for it, so feel like wrote bunch of confusing nothing.
[rewrite of old post for AAC awareness month. so parts that sound bit different, that why (copy paste).]

Bucky Barnes Emoji Hc's Part 1
This is all eras of Bucky and includes Comic Bucky 𝐎𝐁𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐒.
💭 THOUGHT BALLOON — what is your oc’s MBTI, enneagram, and/or other personality aspects (if known/interested in)? A lot of MBTI websites (examples on request), list him as an ISTP. His enneagram is the “Loyalist” which is a 6. Most people don’t give him a wing. For zodiac sign, he is canonically a Pisces. I🚗 CAR — does your oc have a driver’s license? can they drive/operate any automobiles/machinery besides cars? Yes, he has a license and can drive, ride a motorcycle, and pilot. I wouldn’t be surprised if he knew how to operate a boat.
✈️ AIRPLANE — does your oc like traveling, or do they consider themselves a more homey person? As a child, he was born in Indiana and moved to Brooklyn at some point. (Comic Bucky is born in Indiana and eventually settled in the Virginia Camp Lehigh area.) As a child in the MCU, he enjoyed some travel as he visited family and had family vacations.
As an adult, Bucky didn’t have a choice but to travel most of his life, starting with him being drafted in WWII. However, Bucky accepted this despite his fear as he wanted to serve his country and make his family proud. In the comics, he was on both the European front and the Pacific front. In the MCU, he’s just in the Western Front in Europe. Afterwards, as the Winter Soldier, he was sent to numerous locations, but that’s not traveling. After freeing himself from Hydra, he traveled the world, but again, it was not for fun. Wakanda was a refuge rather than actual travel. His FATWS era did not enjoy traveling for fun, either. At this point, outside of missions, he would rather stay at home. However, if he had a partner who wanted to travel, he might be convinced. Comic Bucky wanted to visit the Grand Canyon.
🎮 VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER — what are three of your oc’s favorite hobbies? Working with cars/other tech trying to fix them or improve them. (It was something he bonded with Howard Stark over.), reading, and watching documentaries. Dance used to be part of the list, but he’s too shy now. Only someone like Steve or a romantic partner could convince him to dance again…and only with them. (Preferably in private at first.) Baseball, weight lifting, and boxing were also some things he enjoyed.
💍 RING — does your oc have any piercings? do they want any (more) piercings? No. He never had piercings, and he’s not interested in any.
🖊️ BALLPOINT PEN — does your oc have any tattoos? do they want any (more) tattoos? No, he doesn’t have tattoos, but he nearly got a Howling Commandos tattoo in the war. He hasn’t really thought about tattoos in the modern day. He doesn’t really care to. 📚 BOOKS — what level of education has your oc most recently completed/is currently in (GED, undergraduate, grad school, phd, etc)? Technically it’s high school level, but comic Bucky dropped out of high school. I definitely think Bucky would have taken advantage of college -----if his family and friends convinced him that he was worthy of doing so. I think he would be a little apprehensive about further education, especially being surrounded by such well educated people.
🎻 VIOLIN — does your oc play any instruments? what is their skill level (beginner/intermediate/advanced/virtuoso/etc)? Yes, he can sing and play the piano. Better than intermediate, but less than advanced.
🩹 ADHESIVE BANDAGE — does your oc have any physical and/or mental disabilities? Yes, PTSD, depression, anxiety, the loss of a limb, Traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, and chronic fatigue.
🩸 DROP OF BLOOD — what is your oc’s blood type? A+

Omega... The Pilot, a study

I keep thinking about this moment from the S3 trailer...and how much Tech (but also Hunter and Wrecker) have prepared Omega for this moment, (whatever it entails).
She has had a long journey of pilot training going back to Season 1 and I am SO excited to see it potentially pay off big in Season 3.
Recapping Omega's journey becoming a pilot so far....

In S1E9 Bounty Lost, Omega does some Piloting trying to escape Cad Bane and Fennec Shand. She was obviously familiar with these flight pods since they were Kaminoan. And I am going to assume that the malfunctioning of the flight pod was because of the abandoned pod itself, and not Omega's doing.

Then shortly after that in S1E10 Devil's Deal, while Omega is giving Hera a tour of the Marauder, she tells Hera that Tech won't let her train at flying the ship until she can recite ALL of the ship's specifications from memory.
Omega and Hera then have a nice exchange where Hera tells Omega that flying is only half about spec's but also about "a feeling". I love this so much because while of course she will get the finest education from Professor Tech and the other boys, having this additional not-by-the-book insight on what might make a good pilot is so great for Omega. (maybe we will see this come to fruition in season 3.....?!?!)

Next in S1E13 War Mantle, Omega is tasked with Piloting the Marauder and stabilizing it close to the mountainside in order to rescue Tech Hunter Echo and Gregor. She only keeps the ship steady for a few moments before Tech comes in to take over, but she got some good practice in!
Presumably she is willing and able to do this because at this point she has been getting some beginner level of flying lessons with Tech. Which means she Also memorized ALL of the ships spec's. (if at this point she Hadn't been receiving flying lessons with Tech yet, then it was probably the emergency rescue of it all and Wrecker would of course be the most encouraging that she take the wheel)

In the Season 2 opening episode Spoils of War, Tech and Omega with a very obvious Teacher/Student dynamic, suggesting they have been doing this for a significant amount of time and at Least since back in S1E10. Now Omega is studying and memorizing ALL of the ships in the Imperial FLEET. Which idk sounds like a Lot. (But also... I BET this will come in handy in Season 3 maybe?!?!)

Later in the same episode, it appears that Omega Also gets regularly scheduled Quiz time with Hunter. (which is ADORABLE)
(and yes I translated the data pad bc hyperfixation is a helluva drug)

Then All of that studying pays off immediately in the same episode when Tech Echo and Omega escape a cargo ship via a cargo container. Which was Omega's suggestion since she knew about the container's reentry thrusters from her studies.
And Tech is even Impressed!
There is a long stretch in Season 2 before there is any more Omega doing Pilot things. But Wow is it worth the Wait!

In S2E14 Tipping Point, FINALLY a Flying Lessons scene with Tech and Omega 🥹 and it's not even the first lesson! Based on their conversation it is apparent they have had Several lessons.
This is a HUGE payoff all the way back to S1E10 when Tech wanted Omega to memorize the Ships specs before training to fly.
From what we see in this Flying Lesson, Omega definitely knows her way around the ships maneuverability and limits, but she still needs practice with Landing. Tech gives her some constructive feedback and they seem to have a good rhythm with training.
Aaaand Now for some crack pot Season 3 Trailer speculation/theorizing...

I think this is definitely Omega at this crash site....especially considering the other shot we get of her in a Pilot seat.
I also think all of the subsequent shots in the trailer of that same shuttle type is also Omega piloting the ship while escaping from Tantis. If this is correct, it's clear that the shuttle is hit mid-escape and that is probably what causes it to eventually have to be crash landed.
And then those last two shots on the bottom right...it's a long shot but I think the shuttle shooting at the Troopers could be Omega (but maybe not) and the Doggo attacking the trooper was for SURE at the crash site with Omega and is probably protecting her here, or just going wild at the trooper. either way I support this doggo friend.

Kickstart Your Earnings with Content Writing: A Beginner’s Friendly Roadmap
If you’ve ever wondered how ordinary people turn their words into cash, content writing might be your sweet spot. You don’t need a fancy degree or decades of experience to get started. With some guidance, dedication, and a dash of creativity, you can start earning from content writing sooner than you think. This guide walks you through each step in a friendly, down‑to‑earth way so you’ll feel confident launching your freelance writing journey.

Why Content Writing Is a Great Starting Point Content writing covers everything from blog posts and web pages to social media captions and product descriptions. Businesses of all sizes need fresh, engaging words to connect with their audience, rank higher in search engines, and boost sales. As companies continue to invest in digital marketing, demand for quality content writers stays strong. Plus, you can work from anywhere, set your own hours, and choose projects that spark your interest.
Understanding the Basics of Earning from Content Writing At its core, earning from content writing means providing value through written words. Clients pay for:
Research that saves them time
SEO‑friendly copy that boosts visibility
Clear, engaging storytelling that connects with readers
Consistent output that maintains an active online presence
Your job is to become the go‑to person who delivers those benefits reliably.
Step 1: Identify Your Niche and Strengths While generalists can find work, specializing helps you stand out. Consider topics you enjoy or know well—travel, personal finance, health and wellness, tech, lifestyle, parenting, gaming, or education. Having a niche makes it easier to showcase your expertise and justify higher rates. If you’re a fitness buff who loves writing, focus on blogs and articles in that sphere. If you have a background in software, aim for tech how‑to guides.
Step 2: Build a Portfolio That Shows Your Skills Clients want proof you can write well. Even if you haven’t been paid yet, you can create sample pieces:
Start a personal blog or Medium page and publish 3 to 5 high‑quality articles in your niche.
Guest post on small blogs that accept submissions.
Rewrite or summarize existing news stories in your voice (clearly marked as samples).
Draft mock project pieces for imaginary clients—product descriptions, newsletters, or landing pages.
Organize these in a simple online portfolio. You can use free tools like Google Sites, Wix, or WordPress. Make sure each sample highlights your SEO skills by including relevant keywords naturally in titles and subheadings.
Step 3: Optimize Your Online Profiles for Visibility Next, set up profiles on freelance platforms and job boards. Popular destinations include Upwork, Fiverr, Freelancer, ProBlogger, Contena, and LinkedIn. When crafting your profile:
Write an engaging headline that includes “content writer” or “freelance writer.”
Summarize your background, niche focus, and any standout achievements.
List your portfolio samples or link directly to your site.
Add relevant skills: SEO, WordPress, SEMrush, Mailchimp, social media management, etc.
Request testimonials from friends or colleagues who can vouch for your work ethic or writing ability.
A well‑optimized profile boosts your chances of appearing in client searches and winning invitations.
Step 4: Find Your First Paid Gigs Landing that first paid project often takes persistence. Strategies that work:
Pitch directly to small businesses or local startups. Send personalized emails offering a free trial article or website audit.
Apply to relevant listings daily on freelance boards. Tailor each proposal to the client’s needs—mention specifics from their job post.
Explore niche‑specific boards like BloggingPro or JournalismJobs for targeted opportunities.
Network on LinkedIn by sharing helpful writing tips, engaging with posts in your niche, and connecting with marketing professionals.
Early on, you might accept lower‑priced gigs to build credibility, but avoid underpricing yourself. Aim for a rate you can increase once you’ve racked up 5 to 10 positive reviews.
Step 5: Master SEO and Content Strategy SEO savvy writers command better fees. Search Engine Optimization involves understanding how keywords, user intent, and readability affect rankings. To shine:
Use free keyword research tools like Google Keyword Planner or Ubersuggest to identify target phrases.
Incorporate primary keywords in titles, opening paragraphs, subheadings, and naturally throughout the text.
Keep sentences concise, break up text with subheadings, and add bullet lists or numbered steps for scannability.
Learn basic on‑page SEO: meta descriptions, internal linking, image alt text, and proper URL structure.
Businesses pay for measurable results. If your copy ranks higher and drives traffic, you become more valuable.
Step 6: Set Competitive Rates and Payment Terms Knowing how much to charge can feel tricky. Common approaches include:
Per‑word rate: New freelance writers often start at five to ten cents per word, moving up to twenty cents or more with experience.
Per‑hour rate: Beginners might charge twenty to thirty dollars per hour, progressing to fifty and beyond as skills sharpen.
Per‑project fee: Flat rates for complete blog posts or web pages, factoring in research, revisions, and strategy.
Always agree on payment milestones. A 50/50 split works—half up front, half on completion. Use contracts to outline deliverables, deadlines, and revision policies. This keeps both sides on the same page.
Step 7: Deliver Quality and Build Long‑Term Relationships Repeat clients are freelancing gold. To keep clients coming back:
Meet deadlines without reminders.
Communicate clearly—let them know if you hit a roadblock and propose solutions.
Offer a revision round to refine the piece to their liking.
Suggest topic ideas for future posts based on emerging trends in their industry.
When clients see you consistently add value, they’ll hire you again and refer you to others.
Step 8: Leverage Tools and Continuous Learning Stay competitive by embracing helpful platforms:
Grammarly or ProWritingAid to polish grammar and tone.
Yoast or Rank Math (for WordPress) to fine‑tune on‑page SEO.
Trello or Asana for managing multiple projects smoothly.
Google Analytics basics to understand content performance.
Invest time in online courses or webinars on SEO, storytelling, and copywriting. The more you learn, the more you can charge.
Step 9: Scale Your Earnings Over Time Once you’ve established a steady stream of projects, scaling becomes the name of the game. Options include:
Raising your rates for new clients while maintaining current engagements.
Packaging content services—offer blog writing plus email newsletters or social media management as a bundle.
Outsourcing parts of the work, like research or editing, to junior writers, allowing you to focus on strategy and client relations.
Creating digital products, such as eBooks or courses on content writing, to earn passive income.
Diversifying revenue streams helps insulate your income from slow periods.
Putting It All Together Earning from content writing is an achievable goal, even if you’re starting from scratch. By identifying your niche, building an impressive portfolio, mastering SEO, and delivering top‑notch work, you’ll attract clients eager to pay for your expertise. Remember that patience and persistence pay off. Treat every project as a chance to improve your craft and delight a client. Before you know it, you’ll have a thriving freelance writing business that fits your lifestyle and fuels your creative passions.

Tell me about Vance 🫵
thank u for giving me this opportunity to introduce you to vance my love my light v(ance). it's. a long one. a very long one
vance is a gay transgender man who grew up in a corporate family. his mother n father had met while working for arasaka counterintel during the 4th corpo war and had vance and his sister maya shortly after the war ended. they owe arasaka their comfortable, safe lives; if it weren't for their loyalty to the megacorp, they'd have been crammed into some rundown megabuilding alongside a thousand other poor, working class night citizens.
a lot of things started to change for vance when he turned 15. he realized he was transgender and confided this in maya, who had suggested his first chosen name: he started going by penn when he started his education at arasaka academy.
this was also the year he received an official, albeit beginner-level, cyberdeck. it's a hard implant for someone so young, but he had expressed an interest in tech and the NET years beforehand; why not let him hold the beauty of it in the palm of his hand?
he had jumped at the opportunity. he had always wanted it; why not accept it, now that he's been told he could have it?
he began to see his small world for its interlocking machinations. began to understand the little bits of code fluttering inside every piece of tech in the city. with the cyberdeck linked up to his neural systems, night city's buzzing got louder and louder, until the ever-present drone started keeping him up at night.
it would follow him throughout all his years in the academy—right until he graduated and arrived on arasaka's doorstep at the age of 19, newly transitioned and unaware of the other, freer paths the world might've had for him.
they took the beginner deck they had given him four years prior and began building him a new one.
a new deck required new implants. some of these were necessary, at first: a black steel spine to shoulder the weight of the deck, for example.
but over time, as vance excelled at every task they had given him, and then some—arasaka began to wonder: could they make him into something beautiful, in its intricacy, something impossible?
the average netrunner looks like their profession; technosights; jumpsuits; the seams for their cyberware running through their skin.
arasaka wanted to create something different—something covert. the most innocous of people; a tech weapon the nusa government themselves would kill to have (but how little they really knew).
vance's handlers proposed this plan to vance himself, there seated in arasaka's basement; they were, in some aspects, honest about what they wanted for him. they wanted him to be dangerous. they wanted him to be good. they vowed that they would be by his side throughout the whole process, the promise as loyal as vance had decided to be the first time he put on his uniform.
so he agreed—to all of it.
they started slow.
the steel spine traded for titanium; an expansive cyberdeck with more ram capacity; pulmonary implants to keep up the processing power; other organs traded for their mechanical counterparts, to ensure their safety when vance overclocks his systems.
vance became eerily familiar with arasaka's in-house chop shop. the ripperdoc there, boone vasco, put him under the knife time and time again—each major procedure had been carefully scheduled a few years apart. but vance wasn't just arasaka's pet project; on the side, he was their assassin. their ghost, trickling through the neon-drenched gutter that is night city, slaughtering anyone that needed zeroing.
a little hack there, an iron pressed up against someone ribs here.
he flatlined some disgruntled, middle-class corpo rat, some pencil pusher, who thought all it took to delta out of the corp had been booking the fuck out of the city with little else but both his family and several canisters of CHOOH2 in tow.
as far as anyone is concerned, maybe they did make it across the border.
or maybe they could've just made it, had they been faster; smarter; had they stayed to begin with.
maybe.
vance ran ops in and out of the nusa; his file will never see the light of day, not for all the eddies in the world. there's shit on there that'd start coups; destroy what little they've all built to keep. there are just some things that will always stay between him and the corp. they owe him that much.
when he wasn't out on the field, he was chasing novice netrunners out of arasaka's intranets.
eventually he had gained enough implants that the skin on his torso and back began to run warm—too warm. these were the days where he'd run ops feverish and slow. these were the days his own systems would fail him.
letting the machines breathe out in the open would've defeated vance's entire purpose; they had to get creative.
enough of these slip ups led to an entire torso's worth of a realskinn graft. arasaka had taken the market variant and specifically modified it so that it would allow vance (and his systems) to cool down faster. it's like a mesh rather than skin, soft enough to pass as the latter, but with pores big enough to remind one of the former.
they peeled the organic skin off his back and chest and replaced them—slowly, carefully—with this unique version of realskinn.
it took vance a long time to recover; for his body to accept this skin-like facade as its own.
--
because of the nature of his work, arasaka had thought it best to keep his existence a secret from the people beneath him in the pecking order. as far as they were concerned, vance was in a class of his own—just as adam smasher is his own unit, in a sense. still arasaka's; still a product of their patronage; just with a false sense of independence and superiority above everyone else, as if they're not all wearing the same tags.
vance had found a friend in someone like him; her name was veronica. she was a weapon, too—more blatantly, however, and certainly more of a physical, immediate threat that secrecy would've been a waste of more realskinn.
they often snuck out of work when they could—they took any and all measures to ensure that they didn't look anything like what arasaka had made them into. they went to bars. concerts. they breathed with the rest of night city—for the first time in a very long time.
--
the year is 2076. vance has been in arasaka's ranks for 12 years. he is 80% realskinn and the only truly organic parts left are on his arms, legs, and face. he is still arasaka's top dog; he is still their hound, loyal on a short leash. he still hears the world as loudly as they want him to.
but one, slow night in the basement, his handlers begun to talk—not to him, but amongst themselves. they didn't know he had left a little virtual watchtower for himself in the mikoshi chamber; the one place where he wasn't allowed to be.
he had spent 12 years as their model of what the perfect netrunner should and could be: covert, dangerous, and a powerful piece of tech.
he had spent 12 years as the first in a potentially long line of others.
they could've started sooner, more efficiently; they could've rolled out 3 generations in 12 years, not just the one.
one of the techies claims trial-and-error; there had been many times where certain implants had made vance violently ill. they had had to roll back. his recovery had been a necessary delay time and time again.
another agrees: one generation for twelve, another 2 in half that time. why not stop complaining and start now, with all the information gathered thus far?
and what'll we do with him?
the techies gathered around the room didn't have to answer for vance to understand his own obsolescence.
he had given them 12 years of his life; he had given them the skin off his back; he had told himself that every time he chose arasaka, he was choosing out of his own desire to be good.
what good comes of something past its expiration date?
--
he hadn't been the only arasaka pet project to be thrown out. veronica, too, was going to have her implants traded out so that they may go to the faster, newer generation of her kind.
together, they worked fast; they pulled every string that they had had the foresight to weave around night city; they created a small team of mercs to ferry them out of arasaka HQ; among them was vance's contact, jackie welles.
not many mercs were open to going toe-to-toe with a megacorp like arasaka—but if vance scrambled all the data concerning himself and veronica from their escape, then no one would ever be the wiser. to anyone on the outside looking in, it'd just look like they were stealing equipment from a shipyard.
--
i won't go into too much detail about the escape; only that it was long, tedious, and had left its marks on the both of them—physically and mentally.
in 2076, veronica and vance disappeared from arasaka's ranks, carrying within themselves the unique, stolen implants that made them who they are.
in 2077, they were beginning to live their own lives again.
vance changed his appearance; scrubbed all traces of himself from the NET, if any at all; tried to find his footing in the city that had heard of him only in the bodies he had left behind.
he looked over his shoulder a lot, those first few weeks he had spent lying low in mama welles'. he had been averse to any and all touch; he still craved it, however. that soft affection that demanded of him nothing but to let himself have it.
the hand brushes from jackie; the way mama welles would pat his cheek or fix his hair (even if it didn't need fixing) now and again; how viktor had put his hand on vances knee after the latter had confided in him everything arasaka had done to him.
he had left his family behind. his sister.
but he had friends at the end of his corpo world, too.
moving among them, he had found something in himself that he had had never realized was there: that he has a lot of love to give, and no idea how to give it.
but he tries, anyway; that is the one act of free will arasaka can't take from him.

that's it from me! you can learn more by perusing vance's character tag (#vance) or! if you have any further questions I'd be more than happy to answer them :3

ectoberhaunt2023 day 23- magic fandom- Harry Potter crossover TW- none summary- Harry, Hermione, and Ron visit the strangest wizarding school in America
ao3 masterlist
Harry wasn’t sure why they had agreed to this. Sure, it had sounded fun and interesting, but now they were in America and were going to be going to what had to be one of the strangest magic schools in the world.
Most people would probably consider it normal. And sure, from a muggle standpoint it was. But that’s what made it so strange for a wizarding school.
It looked like a normal high school. There was even functioning electricity! Harry wondered how they had managed that since magic and tech didn’t work well together.
At the front door they were met by an older woman who Harry assumed was the headmaster.
“Hello, I’m Principle Ishiyama. Welcome to Casper High.”
“Thank you for having us.” Hermoine replied.
“Yeah, thanks.” Ron said.
“If you’ll follow me, I’ll show you to your home rooms.” They followed her into the building, and yup, htis definitely just looked like a regular high school. “I know this must be very different than Hogwarts, but since Amity is already a magic heavy town it didn’t really make sense to send the kids to a boarding school.”
“Is it true that squibs go to this school too?” asked Hermione.
The principal tensed but replied with a smile. “Yes, we welcome all kinds of pupils here. Though I have to ask that you refrain from using that offensive term. All Amity Parkers know about magic and we consider it important to teach them the principles. However, since Casper High caters to a more diverse student group, we also teach all the regular classes. Classes rotate between muggle and magical with students placed into the ones that will help cultivate their talents yet at the same time give them a taste of everything. It’s important to have a well rounded education. Now, about your schedules. We’ve done our best to match you up with classes that you were already taking though I’m afraid you’ll also be required to take some muggle classes as well. However, there was one class for which you’ll have to choose a replacement.”
“Which one, miss?”
“Defense Against the Dark Arts.”
“You don’t teach Defense Against the Dark Arts!” Hermione said scandalized.
“We teach similar classes but nothing quite the same. So, I have a few different options you can choose from. First there's a class on blood magic.”
“Isn’t that illegal?” Harry asked.
“Not in the states.”
“But–”
The principal sighed. “It’s only if you’re using someone else’s unwillingly given blood. But if that makes you uncomfortable you can take Spiritual Connections.”
“What’s that?” Ron asked.
“Its a study on temporarily imbuing an object with part of your spirit.”
Harry’s cringed, his mind jumping to horcruxes.
“And if neither of those sound appealing, you can also take beginners Necromancy.”
“Ummm…”
The principal sighed again. “I suppose you can take a History of Dark Arts Through the Ages. Though that one isn’t hands on.”
“We’ll do that.” Harry said.
------------
Thankfully today had been a muggle studies day so all their classes were pretty normal. Well, except for Ron who had never taken a math class beyond basic arithmetics.
They were sitting at lunch when three students approached them.
“Hello, I’m Danny and these are Sam and Tucker. We were curious about how things worked at, where is it you attend? Hogwash?”
“Hogwarts.”
The boy, Tucker, snorted. “Sorry, that's just such a silly name.”
“And Casper is any better?” asked Hermione.
“True.” Danny answered.
“Is it true you don’t have any technology?” Tucker asked.
“Tech doesn’t work with magic.” Hermione answered.
Tuckers furrows browed. “Yes it does. My phone works fine. You just have to imbue the object with some of your spirit.”
“But that sounds terrible. Isn’t that like giving up part of your soul?” Harry asked.
“No? It's just like sharing your magic. It's what I study, magic and tech.”
“What about you?” Hermione asked, turning toward Sam.
“Magical biology and runeology. I focus on plants and their properties as well as rune blood magic.”
“But–” Ron started but Harry elbowed him.
“Look, it's very simple.” Sam took a piece of chalk out of her pocket and drew a circle with a rune inside it on the table. Then she reached into her pocket again, took out a needle and pricked her finger before placing it on the run. It glowed briefly before a flower sprouted up.
“See.”
“But you’re still using blood.”
Sam opened her mouth but Danny interrupted. “Sam, you can’t blame them. That’s just what they’ve been taught.”
She sighed. “I suppose. Their education is controlled by an old white man who wears a bathrobe.”
“But Dumbledore's incredible! He defeated Grindelwald.”
“Maybe, but he refuses to meet with our magical president because he says that Americans are backwards and that we must adhere to his rules before he’ll speak with us. I mean, isn’t your school still illuminated by candlelight? He won’t even let you use electricity.”
“Sam, that's probably enough.” Danny said.
They were all silent for a moment before Harry turned to Danny, “So, what do you study?”
“Necromancy.”
“What!” Hermione squeaked.
“Yeah, I’m naturally inclined since its what my parents studied, and then I was in an accident and I became even closer to the spiritual world. I can temporarily call up ghosts and interact with the ones already present. You've got ghosts at Hogwarts, right?”
“Yes.”
“Oh! I can also separate from my own spirit, like this.”
Danny closed his eyes and a moment later a ghost appeared next to him. He looked like Danny except with white hair and green eyes. Both Danny’s grinned at him.
“I’m not sure how I really feel about all this.” Hermione said.
Danny shrugged. “Welcome to Amity Park.”

Crypto Meets Forex: Navigating Risks and Opportunities in 2025

Based on my experiences, I have seen various innovations of money with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies bringing major changes in the financial market. The overall flow of bitcoins is now stronger, and fluctuations in coins such as Polkadot or Dogecoin increase — all this affects the Forex market. This is where we traders get both the challenge and the thrill to perform, but with the right strategic plans in place, it is a brilliant chance to expand.
Why Crypto is Vital for Forex Traders
In the fast-paced world of trading, volatility is where the action is, and crypto delivers that in spades. While Forex markets move with global economic trends, crypto thrives on sentiment and speculation, making it a goldmine for those who know how to adapt.
Volatility Creates Opportunities: Coins like Bitcoin can swing dramatically in a single day, offering quick wins for prepared traders.
Crypto-Fiat Connections: Bitcoin’s rise often hints at movements in fiat pairs like EUR/USD or USD/JPY.
2025 — A Game-Changer: With Bitcoin adoption growing, I believe the next few years could redefine how crypto and Forex markets interact.
How I Approach the Crypto-Forex Connection
Stay Informed: Whether it’s new regulations in Europe or tech updates from Silicon Valley, the crypto market moves fast. Keeping up with global news helps me anticipate opportunities.
Manage Risk Like a Pro: Crypto’s volatility is thrilling, but it’s also risky. I use tools like stop-loss orders and position sizing to protect my capital while staying in the game.
Watch Market Overlaps: When Bitcoin rallies, I often notice shifts in fiat currencies. Understanding these connections can turn crypto trends into Forex profits.
Adapt My Strategy: Adding crypto pairs like BTC/USD or ETH/EUR to my portfolio has opened new doors. It’s a way to diversify and catch moves I might have missed otherwise.
Why I Trust ORION Wealth Academy
For me, trading is about constant learning and growth, and ORION Wealth Academy has been a game-changer. Their approach to Forex and crypto education is unmatched, offering tools and strategies that work for traders at all levels.
Here’s what makes ORION stand out: ✅ Expert coaching on navigating both crypto and Forex markets. ✅ Daily analysis to stay on top of key trends like Bitcoin’s momentum. ✅ Practical lessons tailored to beginners and seasoned traders alike. ✅ Weekly signals that help me spot opportunities in this fast-moving landscape.
ORION doesn’t just teach you how to trade — it prepares you to excel in markets where crypto and Forex intersect.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we move into 2025, the relationship between crypto and Forex will only grow stronger. Here in France, I see more traders adapting to these changes, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities they bring.
If you’re ready to navigate this dynamic market, join ORION Wealth Academy. Their insights and strategies have helped me trade smarter and more confidently.
Start your journey today — because 2025 won’t wait for anyone.
