17. talk about your writing and editing process <3
Man apparently I’m allergic to checking my inbox but HEY better late than never my love!
So my process, if you can even call it that, is chaotic as FUCK!!! I stare off into space writing it mentally first, type all my bullshit in my notes app like a heathen, don’t proofread, drop unsolicited personal lore in the notes, all that. Gonna use TWITR as an example again btw
I’ve said it before, but The Webs In The Rafters is based on a WHACK ASS DREAM I HAD. specifically chapter 17 and the climax of the story. Like I was the Kenny character, Sansa the dog was telepathically speaking in my mind, there were piles of cuddling cats everywhere, the sound of helicopter blades and a trail of spiders in the hay. I woke up like bro what the hell this is a story right here and I went from there. And in fleshing out the plot, pinning the story beats, the time I was writing it was PERFECT TIMING. Because I had a six hour drive to make for a friend’s wedding. And what did my insane ass do? I FUCKING RAWDAWGED that drive. No music, no audiobook, just silent highways and plotting TWITR. By the time I got home I had a very clear idea of where I was going with the story that at that point was only a few set up chapters and a title.
Speaking of titles, a lot of the time I have titles before I have plot, which is kinda weird bc I know a lot of people struggle with titles, but that’s one of the first things that comes to me. Especially with my one shots, like my kysterion fic All The Punches That I’ve Thrown. That lyric popped into my head and a fic idea with it. Song lyrics inspire a LOT of ideas for me.
So does art. Like with In The Truly Gruesome, I saw a drawing emilyartstudios did of Stan and Shelley working a booth for Tegrity at a fair and I was like YO WHAT IF I FUCKED THIS UP AND STUCK ZOMBIE ALIENS IN THERE lmfao. And ofc, the OrangeJuiceVerse wouldn’t exist if I hadn’t seen foxydodo’s art of basketball player Kyle and mascot Stan.
While oneshots come together pretty fast for me usually, being written out in my head to be typed out in the course of a day (back in the days of janitor Riley bored as shit at work and having the time and energy for that lol), multichapters are require more thought structurally. So what I like to do with a multichap:
Think of it in three acts. In script writing, there’s something called the “page 12 event”, the event that gets the plot rolling near the beginning of the film. And I like to stick an event like that at the end of chapter 1 of my stuff a lot of the time, like ITTG and uhhhh yeeting Stan into a mineshaft after we find out the boys are being chased by monsters (jesus what is wrong with me). What I’m getting at: I like to know where my beginning middle and end are, how the characters are feeling at each step, how their relationships change, all that. And a lot of the time I think of the end before I do the middle or beginning tbh. Like I said, chaos. I think of a random scenario (as we know usually someone is hurt and getting taken care of bc I’m fucking evil and that’s where my brain goes constantly), hence the WhumpShots.
And I do primarily operate in WhumpShots. I picture a scene with a character getting their injuries tended, sick and dizzy but having a friend or loved one at their side, etc, and BAM that scene becomes a oneshot. Even the REALLY short ones, like the sot bunny I did last summer called So Only Say My Name, was about 700 words and one sequence of events. That kind of to the point structure comes easy to me, which is why I loved doing Style Week so much; new oneshot prompt every day. And while I don’t usually proofread after I finish a work, I edit as I go, sometimes post random lines on here or send a screenshot to the R.A.N.T. homies (I’ve definitely done this more as of late, a habit from when I attempted writing smut for the first time and would send neen a screenshot all “IS THIS CRINGE?!?” lmfao I love the Idea Trampoline tho). And I can’t spell so autocorrect is fr my saving grace unless it betrays me. Off the top of my head I can think of 3 words in 3 separate fics that I need to fix but am simply not going to bc that requires effort and oh fuckin well.
And I say that, but I may be lax about the more fiddly stuff but I care SO much about the big picture. Like “does this convey the feelings I want it to? Is this going to be a bright spot in someone’s day? Is the vibe I want there?” That’s my priority. If I can leave an impact on a reader, entertain them, make them smile, that’s what matters to me.
Jesus sorry this was a convoluted answer lmao it’s 3 in the morning and I woke up all “hey I should actually check my inbox” and here we are
Thank u for asking abt my chaos melda tâe

Gendrya Kinktober 2023 Day 11: Pool Sex
“We should totally tag along. We’ll be at a fancy manor, there’s a freaking indoor and outdoor pool, and we won’t have to pay a dime.”
For some reason, Arya found it harder than she’d expected to convince Gendry to go on a last-minute Spring Break holiday with Sansa and Margaery. Despite protestations he wouldn’t fit in and that they would be crashing someone else’s vacation, Gendry finally caved.
“I guess if Sansa invited us…”
A day later, they were on a private jet headed to the Reach. Gendry had spent the whole ride fidgeting with the fancy seat and chatting with Margaery about motorcycles, which she happened to have a deep passion for. Arya, on the other hand, spent the flight trying to avoid Sansa’s attempts at telepathic communication.
Once they’d gotten to the manor, Gendry’s mouth dropped at the size and expensive decorations.
“Aren’t we lucky Grandmother and Daddy had business in King’s Landing this week?” Margaery had proclaimed, tossing her designer bag onto a chaise lounge that looked to be hundreds of years old.
“Sansa and I are going to a club downtown tonight. Do you want to come along? The limo will swing by in an hour.”
Picking up on Gendry’s apprehension, Arya answered for the both of them, “I think Gendry and I would rather hang out by the pool.”
“Your rooms are up the stairs, second and third doors on the left,” Margaery nodded her head toward the staircase.
“We should probably start getting ready,” Sansa said when her eye contact gymnastics failed. She grabbed Margaery’s hand and started pulling her down the hallway.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” Margaery’s melodic voice drifted off into the distance.
After changing into their suits, they made their way to the back of the manor, slipping through giant french doors out onto the backyard. But that wasn’t quite the right word. A small, but nicely kept lawn sprawled out in front of them, and the pool sat in the center of it, a waterfall spilling down into the body of water. Arya almost expected to see koi swimming around inside but was glad to find that it was, in every meaningful way, just a pool.
“Are all your friends this rich?” Gendry asked, tossing a towel he’d brought down from his room onto a pool chair.
“Of course not,” Arya denied. “Growing up I spent more time with the hotel staff than with people like this.”
“Says the girl whose family owns a hotel.”
“Touché. But if it weren’t for my friends, you wouldn’t be able to see me do something like this.” Brazenly, Arya undid the clasp of her bikini top and flung it out into the grass before jumping in.
Gendry went silent, as if he wasn’t able to form words anymore.
“Well, aren’t you going to come in?” Arya teased, resting her elbows on the tiled edge of the pool.
Eagerly, Gendry dropped his swim trunks and jumped in. Instead of being greeted by an icy shock to the system, he felt warmth bubbling up inside him, and it wasn’t just the blood rushing to his cock. “It’s heated!”
Arya smiled. “I know something else warm that you can swim in.”
“And what’s that?” he asked, playing along.
Swimming over to her, Gendry pulled her close and reached a hand down to rub her through her bottoms, but she wasn’t wearing bottoms. When had she taken those off? The thought was clear to see on his face.
“You always surprise me, you know that, Arry.”
Arya smiled, the soft reds of the sunset settling on the water all around her. She wrapped her arms around Gendry, kissing him with all the want that had pent up in her body.
Suddenly, though, she found herself being lifted up into the air and placed on the tile. She squeaked in surprise, but there was no one else around to hear her. Which, as it happened, turned out to be a lucky thing, as Gendry’s tongue on her cunt elicited the kind of moans that would have gotten them into trouble almost anywhere else.
Gendry’s hands were everywhere. On her hips. Rubbing her nipples. Lifting one of her legs out of the water to get better access to her. And his tongue seemed to explore deeper inside her than he’d ever done before. Soon, her orgasm was wracking through her body, and she was screaming. It was a beautiful thing that couldn’t be contained.
“Fuck, I nearly came just tasting you, Arya. Need to be inside you,” he groaned into her thigh, desperation lacing every word.
Sliding back down into the warm water, Arya clung to Gendry. The only sound was the soft burbling of the waterfall. Lips lazed along her neck, gentle and warm, as he pushed her against the wall and slipped inside her.
“Still think this was a bad decision?”
“The worst.”
Gendry pushed all the way in, thrusting in a sweet, unrelenting rhythm. It felt like an ocean was crashing all around her, inside her, part of her. Nothing had ever felt so right.

GRRM cuts off Sansa’s connection to the magical storyline in AGOT with Lady’s death, meanwhile the rest of her siblings are rediscovering their family’s magic, Jon, Bran, and Arya still have their direwolves and are becoming powerful wargs and skinchangers and are the subject of prophecy and have dreams and visions too, and Sansa... Well....
No wonder that her illiterate fans hate magic and think it’s evil or unimportant, they’re just extremely jealous. Sansa isn’t and will never be a main character, deal with it guys.
Day 23848 of wondering why these people engage with a fantasy series when they don't like magic. I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can stop reading the books at any point and find a story that you actually enjoy. Just a suggestion.
What's really funny though is that they switch between hating magic and trying to make Sansa's story magical. On one hand, magic is the evilest thing ever, everybody involved in it is doomed, the starks have lost their way and they need Sansa to be the "normal one" (literally saw someone say that Jon needed Sansa to be his human tether which is just gross). Then it's Sansa is actually the most powerful warg ever, she's been telepathically charming people, she's been chosen by the old gods, and oh she also has singing magic. They really like covering all of the bases with their fanon. And that's what really separates the Key Five from the other main characters, they're involved in both the magical and political plots. It's pretty obvious that the magical plots are going to be incredibly important to the rest of the story. They just can't stand the idea of another character being important in a way that Sansa isn't.

hey, guys! i'm looking for a gendrya fanfiction (actually i can't remember if it was a single chapter or part of a drabbles' collection). it starts with sansa making arya do a "who would be your perfect boyfriend" test, and the result is her best friend (gendry, obviously). then at some point sansa goes to visit them, since the two are living together, and comments about the "telepathic connection" they have, and ends with her complaining to arya for not acting on gendry during the stark family christmas party (and there is some mistletoe involved). can anyone tell me which fanfic it is?

When You Came In, the Air Went Out
A very(!) short True Blood AU ficlet for the wonderful people of the Stansa ship (including, but not limited to,@yourtommyginger,@sarahtheblack, @zip001, @thestansayacht)
Putting it here in the tumblr void for inspiration later on...
300 words without context, here we go:
He towered over her so very easily, crowding her against the massive desk he kept in his office. She had no choice but to bend backwards, feeling all kinds of awkward, and lift her chin to meet his fierce gaze. Dark blue eyes roamed her face, moving hungrily from her eyes to her mouth and back again.
The soft snickof descending fangs barely registered in her ears over the mad beat of her heart. He closed the last few inches between them, his cool forehead pressing against her heated one. If he were alive, if he were human, she would’ve surely felt his breath fanning across her cheek.
She shut her eyes, overwhelmed.
“If I meet the True Death without having at least kissed you, Sansa Stark,” he growled, and oh, Good Lord, no woman could feel the rumbling of his deep voice without going at least a little bit weak at the knee… “That would be my greatest regret.”
Her eyes snapped open. “Why does it sound like you’re saying goodbye to me?”
He pulled back an inch, and she followed him instinctively, barely managing to remain upright. The side of his mouth twitched, the closest to a smile he ever got. His hands, large and strong and shockingly cold, cupped both her cheeks, steadying her.
“Because I am,” he admitted.
And then his mouth was on hers, harsh and relentless and desperate, and she had no choice but to surrender. There was no finesse to it, no skill, just the same raw, barely-restrained energy she’d sensed since the first time they’d met. Back then he’d been hiding it beneath a cold veneer of formality, which had only served to frighten her some more.
After all, Joff had warned her how dangerous the sheriff of Area Five was…

One Piece Chapter 1051 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
So the battle is over, now the fallout begins
Wano doesn't know it yet, but their plight is over, a new era has begun So let us see how it unfolds
Spoilers for the Chapter, Support the Official Release also!
And Germa had to do the rule of cool escape, cool people walk away from explosions...something tells me however that this isn't all there is to it, at least I hope not
And Kin'emon is alive! Good! I know people were set on him dying but since he was the person who kickstarted this whole Wano-based saga I thought it was fitting he survived
Naturally, the people of Wano are shocked
Kiku's also alive! So Usopp's actions and Izo's sacrifice wasn't for naught. Sadly it does imply that Izo's dead though which is sad. Also brief Shinobu appearance
Surprised Raizo's there though, I feel like a full bodied burn would take more than a bandage to the head
Mini Onimaru appearance too, feel like he could've been used in the main fight
And the crew finally meet Yamato, and are of course on guard because they're Kaido's son
So, this is what people were going crazy about? Yamato insisting they're going to be sailing with the crew? It's not exactly confirmation I'm with Jinbe on this
Also someone really needs to tell Brook and Sanji...
Also also Tama's face is priceless
Chopper's hard at work healing Luffy and Zoro, we still need to know about Zoro though but if he's being treated he's clearly still alive
Kaido's men are doing a runner though, despite Yamato's protests
Huh, so Tama's DF does have a time limit, after a month the animals can return to the wild if they choose
And Speed is gonna stay tamed, Tama even wants her to be the new mother
It's cute, but I feel like this came out of nowhere a little, maybe if we had more time establishing Speed being protective and motherly towards Tama. Tama calling her Horselina-chan doesn't help either
Nami also shocked, maybe she wanted to be the mother
Momo slowly comes out of the smoke now too, making a good speech
Aw mini Komachiyo, and of course sad Tama past; her parents died working in the mines, and Hitetsu took her in to keep her spirits up. Strong kid for sure, but the tears can come - embracing Nami rather than her new 'mother'
Oh crack a smile boys, Kid you weren't there for the alliance but you did your part, Law just let people be grateful to you
Carrot appearance finally too
Almost faltered at the end but thanks to some telepathic encouragement from Kin'emon he lands on his feet
The age up did Momo good, long hair's definitely a keeper. Glad he's not exactly like Oden too, he's his own manchild
He also gets to reunite with his sister at last (would've been funny as hell if she dropkicked him)
And Oda telling us off the bat that he'll be one of Wano's greatest leaders, so Wano's going to be all right
I liked this chapter, it is the cooldown period of the post-raid stuff. I can see a lot of people not liking things because it didn't go their way though:
I know a lot of people were set on Hiyori becoming Shogun, using this as a reason to put Momo in the crew, but frankly I never saw it. It's the Sansa Stark problem, if you're familiar with Game of Thrones (and if you aren't you must've avoided it with intent to not see it) you know Sansa Stark suffered a lot of shit through the series, but when it came to the final season I always felt like she didn't deserve to be 'Queen of the North' simply because she suffered a lot. Enduring torment doesn't equate to being a good leader; Hiyori may've suffered, but she also lived pretty cosy in Denjiro's Yakuza-protected Flower Capital-endorsed brothel, she was a national celebrity and all she really had to do was play coy on Orochi's advances and fleece a bunch of sickos out of their money. Nothing from this arc has demonstrated that Hiyori had any ambitions or qualities of being a leader, in contrast to Momo who is making decisions and declared that he would become Shogun even when beaten and about to be executed.
I'm happy to see Kiku and Kin'emon alive too, but I understand that people wanted them to die so we had a higher death count. We still lost Ashura, and likely Izo, and we've yet to see Drake or Hyou either. I will say though I did expect one of the mink leaders to die though, mainly because we've not actually seen someone peter out from Su Long, and Raizo, but I'm content with Oda not killing people off for the sake of it either.
So then we get to Yamato. I'm probably gonna get a lot of heat for this but I don't think they should join the crew. Now, put those pitchforks down please and let me explain! I really like Yamato as a character, and yes I'd enjoy seeing more of them, but there's a but I cannot shake and it's that normally prospective Straw Hats go through a process, it's not just 'Befriend Luffy, claim to join', if it were then what stopped Bartolomeo? Most Straw Hats fulfill certain things Yamato's yet to cover; a role on the ship, a rapport with another Non-Luffy Straw Hat (Zoro and Usopp didn't have this granted but that's because the options were slim, also Robin really became a Straw Hat after Enies Lobby), and Luffy calling them by their actual name. Meanwhile, Carrot achieves all these things; like Yamato she has ambitions of seeing the world, has a unique transformation, a powerful fighting style, has suffered loss, and is slightly naive, but unlike Yamato she's fulfills the role of the crow's nest, she has rapport with Chopper, Sanji and Nami, Luffy calls her by her name. I know Carrot hasn't featured a lot in Wano, but she's been with us for 3 arcs now, so I find it slightly unfair that Yamato can just strut in ahead of her without doing some of the key things Carrot has achieved during her time. In addition to this, Luffy doesn't need a 'Kozuki Oden', Oden was on Roger's crew because he could read Poneglyphs, Luffy has Robin for that. I know Yamato fans are on a high and this sounds like trampling, but I feel like until Luffy says it, it's not happening, he's the captain after all it's his decision. Of course if Yamato does join the crew I'll get over it but I'll be sad that Carrot missed out despite doing everything right, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Luffy told Yamato to either go out on their own - since the fleeing Beast Pirates implied to Yamato that some didn't want to work for them - as a Grand Fleet member or fulfill Oden's promise to Whitebeard - about returning to him after his voyage with Roger - by going with Marco.
Right, now that's done lemme pull out one or two pitchforks from my stomach and talk about Tama. Tama was a strange one because I did like she got payoff and that her DF has limits, but the Speed stuff is also something that felt like it needed more fleshing out. It's nice for her to have a new family though, I could easily see her and some tamed Gifters becoming Momo's Oniwabanshu with Raizo and Shinobu, but I also could've seen her becoming a pirate. Not with Luffy, but like how the Tontattas became 'pirates' but mainly operate in Dressrosa. She is the Queen of Beasts after all.
And finally Momo, I think we still have much more left of Wano, Luffy and Momo are likely to say goodbye to one another once he awakens and of course there's the whole Zoro thing we've left unchecked for AGES LIKE GODDAMN ODA! Like I said before I like that Momo looks different to Oden, he still has the eyebrows but his character arc has been about not being his father; Oden didn't want to become Shogun, he wanted Wano's borders open, and he often tried to do things himself, but Momo has become his own identity by acting against his Father's intentions, and that's what will make him a great leader. I understand people will worry because he's still 8 years old, but he's matured a lot and he has a lot of intelligent people around him with good intentions.
The fallout will continue of course, but for now we can close the book on Toki's Prophecy, a new day begins in Wano.

What do you mean by Lady doing a reverse death warg on Sansa ?
Hi anon!
Hee! You’re referring to this post, right?
What I affectionately call the death warg is the suggested last leap of a warg from his human body into that of another being.
In the case of Varamyr and Haggon these were premeditated acts with animals specifically chosen for the purpose. (ADWD, Prologue) Warging for “regular” wargs is a transgressive act that requires the subjugation of its target and dogs and wolves are only prized because of the way they take to the bond. It remains an act of force and invasion, if you look at it objectively.
With the Starks, it’s different, because their direwolves are not random animals, they are magical creatures sent to them by the old gods and not only do they share a natural and intuitive warg bond with their humans and a telepathic link to each other, but they may have magical healing powers AND the warg bond might be mutual. They are a part of each other.
If Jon and Robb both intuitively warged into their bonded wolves in the moment nearing physical death, why should the reverse not also be possible?
It’s in the text that Lady’s bones are in Winterfell, but her Shade is not.
Summer's howls were long and sad, full of grief and longing. Shaggydog's were more savage. Their voices echoed through the yards and halls until the castle rang and it seemed as though some great pack of direwolves haunted Winterfell, instead of only two . . . two where there had once been six. Do they miss their brothers and sisters too? Bran wondered. Are they calling to Grey Wind and Ghost, to Nymeria and Lady's Shade? Do they want them to come home and be a pack together? (ACOK, Bran I)
Lady is not “home”. She is elsewhere:
He could not smell them, nor hear their howls by night, yet he felt their presence at his back . . . all but the sister they had lost. His tail drooped when he remembered her. Four now, not five. Four and one more, the white who has no voice.
These woods belonged to them, the snowy slopes and stony hills, the great green pines and the golden leaf oaks, the rushing streams and blue lakes fringed with fingers of white frost. But his sister had left the wilds, to walk in the halls of man-rock where other hunters ruled, and once within those halls it was hard to find the path back out. The wolf prince remembered.
(ACOK, Bran I)
Where is Lady?
Lady is universally described as sweet, gentle, obedient. Her connection to Sansa is extremely harmonious, where we see it in AGOT, Sansa I. Where Arya battles Nymeria with a hairbrush (one of the more obvious metaphors that Arya chaves at the traditional role expected of her) and needs to use a voice “like a whip” to stop Nymeria’s defensive attack on Joffrey, Sansa can calm Lady’s growls with a gentle touch of her hand and is never ever seen in conflict with her. They are a complete unit.
We do not see the aftermath of Lady’s death, we only get a vague description by Ned.
The last fortnight of their journey had been a misery. Sansa blamed Arya and told her that it should have been Nymeria who died. And Arya was lost after she heard what had happened to her butcher's boy. Sansa cried herself to sleep, Arya brooded silently all day long, and Eddard Stark dreamed of a frozen hell reserved for the Starks of Winterfell.
(AGOT, Eddard IV)
Two weeks Sansa cried herself to sleep and became unusually verbally aggressive toward her sister. It can be explained by grief, but there could also be a bit of Lady’s own trauma in there. Lady was murdered by a Stark she trusted, there is bound to be confused anger in even the gentlest wolf.
Theoretically, gentle, soft and harmonious Lady could have leapt into Sansa and blended herself with her bonded human inside the human body the way it usually happens the other way around. This is why Sansa might still have warg-like dreams of running with Lady, why she intuitively connects her own potential death to reuniting with Lady, and why the other direwolves no longer have the telepathic connection to Lady that they still have with Grey Wind even after his death.
So, contrary to the hilarious idea that killing Lady made Sansa less of a Stark, she is actually the Stark carrying a direwolf’s soul inside of herself instead of outside, providing the shelter for her wolf that the others are offered for themselves. It’s part of what protects her spirit from all assault.
I like that image because it works so well with Sansa’s sense of self and her inner dignity. She doesn’t hate herself, she doesn’t question her self-worth, even when she feels empty. She is a whole person, in spite of Lady’s death because she carries Lady inside of herself.

what do you think sansa's endgame is? and i'm not talking ships. like what do you think she'll be doing by the time the books end.
Anon, you accidentally made me write an essay.
So, to try and guess where Sansa could be at the end of the story, we have to look at where she’s heading currently.
She’s currently in the Vale, stuck under the control of Littlefinger. I think Sansa’s arc in TWOW will revolve around breaking free of his manipulation. There’s a line in Bran’s first ASOS chapter that seems to foreshadow this:
Sometimes he could sense them, though, as if they were still with him, only hidden from his sight by a boulder or a stand of trees.
—Bran I, A Storm of Swords
It’s hard to find the path back out, but not impossible. I do believe Sansa will return to “the wilds” that belong to her and her siblings.
George was asked once if Sansa still has skinchanging powers even though Lady is gone, and he said she does. We’ll probably see that aspect of her character start to make an appearance in Winds, especially since the presence of magic ramps up with each book. I think it would make sense if she bonded with a bird (such as a falcon or a hawk), seeing as she has quite a lot of bird imagery (particularly caged bird imagery) in her story. Sansa “flying free”, both literally and figuratively, seems like a logical step for her arc.
I do wonder how her connection with the “pack” will be handled. All of the Stark kids except for Sansa have the telepathic bond through their wolves, so I wonder what GRRM will do with Sansa there. It’s heartbreaking, that she doesn’t have that mental connection that the others do. I don’t know if that could somehow be reformed without Lady? There are a lot of unanswered questions about the Stark kids skinchanging powers (and the telepathic bond). Why did their powers only show up when the wolves did? How far do their powers go? How powerful could they become once they’re properly trained? How does the telepathic bond work? Is that a thing that other skinchangers can do? Is it there because of the wolves or is it through the kids themselves? Is it forever broken with Sansa because Lady is gone, or could Sansa reform that connection through another wolf that joins the Stark warg pack? Would it make sense narratively and thematically for GRRM to give Sansa another wolf?
Anyway, no idea what he’ll do with that. (Some sort of scene where Sansa is like “I don’t have a wolf anymore”, and then all the other Starklings crowd around her for a giant group hug and say “that’s okay, you’re still a part of the pack no matter what” is something I could see happening. It’s not like the other kids would treat her any less for not having a direwolf, she’s still their sister.)
A common speculation I see for Sansa’s endgame is that she could become the new head of House Arryn. And, well, the aesthetic of Sansa being Lady of the Eyrie/Lord Protector of the Vale/Warden of the East is definitely cool. The Queen of Birds up in a mountain palace with her flock all around her like a winged army? That’s some gorgeous imagery.
But...
I don’t think Sansa would ever willingly choose to stay in the Vale if she had the option to go home to Winterfell:
She awoke all at once, every nerve atingle. For a moment she did not remember where she was. She had dreamt that she was little, still sharing a bedchamber with her sister Arya. But it was her maid she heard tossing in sleep, not her sister, and this was not Winterfell, but the Eyrie. And I am Alayne Stone, a bastard girl. The room was cold and black, though she was warm beneath the blankets. Dawn had not yet come. Sometimes she dreamed of Ser Ilyn Payne and woke with her heart thumping, but this dream had not been like that. Home. It was a dream of home.
The Eyrie was no home.
—Sansa VII, A Storm of Swords
One of the largest themes in the stories of the younger POV characters (Theon, Jon, Dany, Sansa, Arya, Bran, Rickon (even though he’s not a POV character)) is that of home. Just go on A Search of Ice and Fire and search for the word “home” in each of those characters’ chapters. I think Sansa will end up at her home, with her pack. We know she must return at Winterfell at some point, as she has the final part of this prophecy to fulfill:
"I dreamt a wolf howling in the rain, but no one heard his grief," the dwarf woman was saying. "I dreamt such a clangor I thought my head might burst, drums and horns and pipes and screams, but the saddest sound was the little bells. I dreamt of a maid at a feast with purple serpents in her hair, venom dripping from their fangs. And later I dreamt that maid again, slaying a savage giant in a castle built of snow."
—Arya VIII, A Storm of Swords
The wolf howling in the rain is Grey Wind (or Shaggydog/Rickon, since it’s raining on Skagos when Jon dreams of his “black brother”), the clangor is the Red Wedding and the bells are the ones on Jinglebell’s hat when Catelyn sawed at his throat, and the maid at the feast is Sansa. And Sansa will “slay a savage giant in a castle built of snow.” That castle is obviously Winterfell, although the fandom has yet to concretely agree on who the “savage giant” is.
Evidently, Sansa will return to Winterfell, and she probably has to get there before winter really starts setting in, or else the journey would be nearly impossible in the deadly weather. So, probably at some point in the next book.
Now, I believe that there’s a big moment coming for Sansa in TWOW: the moment where she unrepresses/uncovers her memories. Sansa knows a lot of important things. She knows the truth about Jon Arryn, she knows that her hair net was used to poison Joffrey, she knows that Littlefinger was involved in the disappearance of Jeyne Poole. Sansa’s memory swapping/adjusting/erasing/repressing (whatever you wanna call it) is important to her character. It’s her brain’s way of coping with the trauma she’s been through.
I think that one of these memories coming to the forefront is going to trigger something big: Littlefinger’s downfall. I speculate that what will most likely come out in the open first is what happened to Jeyne Poole. Sansa finding out what Baelish did to her closest childhood friend could definitely be what turns her against him.
Warning, I’m going to mention the sh*w here for a second. George has said that he wrote Sansa and Jeyne’s interactions into season 1, and that he tried to build Jeyne as a character, but her scenes were cut by the showrunners. Clearly, George cares about her, her friendship with Sansa, and her value in the story, he was very upset about the deletion of her character and of Sansa’s friendship with her.* I believe the reveal of what happened to Jeyne will be a major part of Sansa’s story in Winds. She’s repressed her memories of Jeyne and her disappearance because it is, understandably, too much for her mind to handle thinking about.
The reveal of this memory could be a catalyst to the other memories coming forward, especially since they involve Littlefinger. I think Sansa will be a key part in wrapping up the political aspect of the story, she can reveal the truth of why the Stark-Lannister conflict began all the way back in book 1. She can expose Littlefinger’s lies and schemes. That’s where I think her narrative is heading, at least in TWOW.
I’m not sure what Sansa’s story arc will be in ADOS (I’m not sure what anyone’s story will be in ADOS, but Sansa’s is a bit more of a blank page than others). If the Littlefinger conflict gets wrapped up in TWOW, I don’t know where her story will go from there. Supposedly, she could be in Winterfell at that point. What will happen then… well, then it’s Long Night time. Sansa is not one of the “key five players” (Tyrion, Dany, Arya, Bran, and Jon), but I still think she’ll have an important role in the book. I think Sansa and Arya’s relationship is something that will be focused on a lot through both of their chapters in the final novel. We’re going to see Ned’s quote, “you need her, as she needs you”, really matter.
No matter where her arc goes over the next two books, though, I do think she’ll end up at Winterfell. And like I said, I don’t think Sansa would choose to leave her home again after returning. I think that her story will end with her staying at Winterfell with the other kids. The Stark children would never willingly leave each other after reuniting. Jon literally describes the separation from his siblings as “a deep ache of emptiness, a sense of incompleteness.” And, of course, the iconic line Ned delivers to Arya: “The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.” I don’t see any of their endings being them as “lone wolves” again.
So, to answer your question, I think the endgame for Sansa will be her back in Winterfell with her family, where she belongs, where she is strongest. I do suspect, however, that there will be some sort of epilogue at the end of ADOS, possibly a “10 years later” or somewhere along those lines. Where she’ll be then, I have no idea. She’ll probably be involved with something politically by then, like ruling or advising.
*Based on what George himself has said about the show’s post-season 4 portrayal of Sansa, I don’t think her story will be similar in any way to the show’s very different version of her character (same goes for everyone). George is typically very mild when talking about the show, saying stuff like “they chose to go down a different path with the story”, but this is one of the only times he flat out criticized the show for how wrong it is. He was very upset the show cut out her storyline. He has also said that “every character has a different end” in the books. So take from that what you will.

Not to be dramatic, but Sansa is full of forgiveness and mercy and kindness in a world where she’s been given every possible reason about why she shouldn’t be -- and she really didn’t need a moment from Jon disrespecting her (and only her -- everyone else is allowed to speak) during a meeting to, like, ‘teach her a lesson’ about leniency and save her from the ‘evil heartless creature’ she’d become after all of her time with the Lannisters and Petyrfinger.
It’s true that they need every man possible in the upcoming war -- a war that Sansa doesn’t disbelieve at any second, she’s fully on board with what Jon has said is coming and she does every possible thing she’s capable of to help prepare for it. But, it’s also true that these Houses literally just slaughtered their family and fought a war against them, in an attempt to annihilate them from the planet. And it’s a valid thought process, that literally every Northerner in the room also agreed with -- not just her (despite the fact that she’s the only one spoken down to about it), that it’s not something that should just be swept under the rug.
You can’t expect someone to just be on board with you and immediately back you up on everything, if you don’t speak to them about it beforehand. Sansa spends almost all of her time, upon reuniting with Jon and being with him from that moment on, being on his side. Believing him about what he says is coming and knowing they have long fights ahead of them. She appears to not even question his return back to the living?? Despite the fact that she’s the one Stark not spending her entire story dealing with magical mysteries, she’s just like “Yeah, Jon was abracadabra’d back into existence.”
Tumblr media
He says the dead are coming, she just believes him.
The only times that she’s not immediately behind his back are on situations she has the better understanding of (something that is allowed to be true, despite the fact that so many believe Sansa isn’t allowed to have any awareness of anything -- she’s not allowed to be smart).
She knows that Ramsay Bolton is a monster that cannot be allowed to continue holding the North. She knows him better than Jon. She knows what he can do better than Jon. She knows what he won’t do better than Jon -- and that more than likely includes preparing for an onslaught of dead coming to attack them all. And if Jon wants to eff off to someplace warm, well fine, she will rally the troops to do what needs to be done, on her own.
She knows that that there are other Northern Houses wronged by Ramsay who have a better chance of joining the fight, that Jon then refuses to call upon, despite her begging him to -- must. fight. war. now. (And don’t even get me started on those Houses being reprimanded harder than the Houses that fought against them, by Lyanna, even though THEY WERE NEVER ASKED TO HELP BECAUSE JON JUST DECIDED NOT TO GO TO THEM OKAY DON’T GET ME STARTED). She knows that if Jon refuses to turn every rock, because he basically hasn’t decided he wants to live at this point, she has to take matters into her own hands and contact her abuser to seek the help they’ll need. She knows that Ramsay will play with Jon on the field of battle. Sansa also knows her areas that lack expertise and openly admits her faults in lack of battle awareness and how to explain what he’ll do there. But, she knows better than Jon about the games Ramsay likes to play and she tries her best to express it.
She knows that the Umbers and the Karstarks helped destroy them and their family.
Sansa is full of forgiveness and mercy and kindness. She spends the entire story feeling all of these things here and there for people who do not deserve it. We know that her fundamental nature is gentle. That she believes, despite Cersei’s teachings, that she would rather lead by love than by fear. That she’d rather the people feel cared for by her than cower in her presence. But, leading by love over fear doesn’t necessarily mean that every single betrayal that passes shall...pass. That those who commit great crimes always get off with a smile and a cheer and those who are loyal get no reward in return for their fight.
There are obvious benefits to going, “Ahh let’s move on, it was a bad moment, but it’s over,” to the Umbers and Karstarks. But, there’s also a risk of turning every other Northerner against them, by saying that those betrayals will have no consequences and that the loyalty they had holds no more weight than someone literally handing over a Stark for execution does.
But, that’s all beside the point.
The point is Sansa has Jon’s back on everything that he’s displayed superior knowledge to, as evidenced in that season. She spends every single day that Jon is away and avoiding Danaerys’ doe eyes like the plague, backing his decisions regarding the army of the dead (despite coming from another moment of blatant disrespect where he didn’t tell her of his decision to leave, before dragging her into the hall and blasting her with the info at the same time as everyone else, as if she’s on the same level as the rest of the Lords, instead of his literal only family and Lady of Winterfell). She’s constantly working the castle and with the inhabitants of it and the rest of the North in preparation for the upcoming war. She’s getting the castle battle ready. She’s preparing food storage. She’s having armor and weapons made. She’s quality controlling everything, so that everyone will have the best possible equipment and conditions in the fight. She’s turning down power left and right, when people try to take it away from Jon and give it to her, and reinforcing her belief in Jon’s place in the North and knowledge of what’s to come and decisions he’s making in regards to what needs to be done.
[She’s giving away what little power she does have, when Bran turns back up in Winterfell. And she’s very clearly not even a little bit bothered by the fact that she’s doing so. He ends up turning it down, but Bran is Lord of Winterfell, she’s got no problem with it, because she’s not power hungry.]
Sansa has Jon’s back. But, Jon, in return of Sansa’s loyalty and love, expects her to always have his back, without offering the same in return. Even on things that he’s shown less prowess in. Which is especially hurtful, because they had a whole heartwarming moment under soft snowfall about how they have to have full trust in one another, before these meetings happened. Something Sansa exhibits towards him, even in times when she shouldn’t, as he’s messing with their lives and the lives of their people, APPARENTLY (lol lies) for the love (lolol) of some woman he just met who burns people alive. And something Jon shows towards her, about twice, when they get a deceptive letter from Tyrion and he cares about her opinion for a moment and when he places the North in her care (after he just bulldozed her with the information that he’s leaving).
Sansa is allowed to have an opinion about what happens with the Umbers and the Karstarks. She’s allowed to voice it. (I mean, Rickon is literally dead because of Smalljon Umber. Rickon would still be alive if not for him and his people). No one else in the room was undermining Jon by speaking up on the matter, and so she cannot be the only one there who was, just because she’s closer to him than they are. She’s not less merciful or less kindhearted for finding this particular betrayal too much for nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Jon choosing to just have them simply reaffirm their loyalty to House Stark wasn’t some big lesson in kindness for Sansa. Sansa is already inherently kind. There is a difference between learning lessons from the powerful and evil-hearted people around her and being evil-hearted, herself.
And if Jon wanted to go into that meeting with her completely on his side, like she is about everything else regarding the dead and so forth (which he very clearly must’ve 🎵SPOKEN TO HER ABOUT🎵), than he should’ve spoken to her beforehand. Should’ve gone into that meeting with a conversation already had between the two of them, in private, regarding what he plans on doing in regards to the families that helped put the majority of theirs’ in the ground. Sansa has no way of telepathically knowing that Jon plans on going, “Listen, some Umbers are dead, some Karstarks are dead, the price has been paid.” She’s not a mind reader. Just as he should’ve spoken to her, beforehand, about his decision to head for Dragonstone.
Jon cannot constantly expect Sansa to just feel all of the same things he feels and embrace every decision he has, without coming to her and speaking about those feelings and thoughts. There is a very big jump between believing Winterfell belongs to Sansa and believing you don’t even need to privately mention to her, before a public meeting with the rest of the fickle Lords, that you plan on throwing yourself to a dragon and hoping for the best or that you plan on pardoning the very people who helped dismantle the North and the Starks -- who supported the Bolton’s rule.
Sansa is kind and is full of mercy and sympathy and empathy and love. It would not of taken much effort, at all, from Jon to of had her backing his thought process on either matter, even if she doesn’t agree with it. All he had to do was speak to her. To not lump her in with the rest of the Northerners, who hear his big decisions at the drop of a hat. You cannot have beautiful, heartwarming moments in the soft snowfall about trust and then not show her any afterwards. You cannot drop undisclosed bombshells and then expect Sansa, who is finally in a place with someone that she feels comfortable and safe having a voice and using it, to not be shocked and feel able to give her thoughts. You cannot expect that she is the only person not allowed to.
Sansa is a person who is so kind and so forgiving that she’s on Jon’s side all the way to the very end. She’s still trying to keep him a King even after everything he led them to and all of the times he brushed her opinions aside. Even after he’s forever stained the North by bringing them to that massacre of Kings Landing. The world will forever know they supported Daenerys in that slaughter and, despite that, Sansa still knows he’s a good man. Still believes everything he’s done was to protect them all. (Because I refuse to believe that look she had when speaking with Daenerys wasn’t Sansa coming to the conclusion that Jon was doing everything he felt he needed to, to save them).
Sansa was literally in Kings Landing feeling sympathy for those around her who had direct involvement in her torment. There were people backing her into corners, scaring her and reminding her how unsafe she was. And she was, in moments, still showing them undeserved kindness. Still thinking of these people with sympathies in her heart. Still taking care of the people who spent their time belittling her, when they were drowning in their own fears of battle.
That level of kindness and love isn’t taught in a single moment (of disrespect shown towards her) in a meeting of pardoning and bringing those who betrayed them back under their fold. It’s something you’re inherently born with and something you manage to continue to foster within yourself through the worst of your life, even when those around you are trying to break you and turn you into the worst of them.
And thinking that those loyal to the Starks should be rewarded for that loyalty and raised up in station, while the Umbers and Karstarks should have some consequences for their disloyalty (something, I believe, is a very general and non-radical thought process of the time? might be wrong, but I think that’s true?), doesn’t strip away those fundamental qualities she holds. And also doesn’t solidify that she wouldn’t of changed her mind if Jon had come to her with the trust and respect he believed they should show one another, before that meeting, to let her know where he was at.
Anyway, Sansa’s a good and kind person who knows some stuff about some stuff and respect my lady, thank you.

"A snowflake danced upon the air. Then another. Dance with me, Jon Snow, he thought. You’ll dance with me anon." Does this line have any romantic connotation in regards to Jonsa ?
Well, let’s see:
In the AGOT prologue, Waymar Royce said: “Dance with me then” to the WW.
Waymar Royce was Sansa’s first crush and Jon’s look alike.
In Alys Karstark’s wedding, Alys said: "You could dance with me, you know. It would be only courteous. You danced with me anon" to Jon.
Alys Karstark is the supposed Grey Girl and Jon’s sister that Melissandre saw in the fires. Alys’ wedding also matches Sansa’s dream wedding.
Two chapters after Alys’ wedding, Jon have this very peculiar thought: “A snowflake danced upon the air. Then another. Dance with me, Jon Snow, he thought. You'll dance with me anon”.
In his thought Jon corrects Alys’ words, because she used something that happened in the past combined with the word “anon” that denotes future. Then Jon corrects “You danced with me anon” with the right form: “You’ll dance with me anon.”
A snowflake dancing upon the air sounds similar to the snowflakes falling on Sansa’s face like lovers kisses.
In ASOIAF, the word “dance” is used to describe wars, clashes, confrontations, but it also could be interpreted as a mating dance. As you can see here.
From here I think you can decide for yourself if there are romantic connotations or not.
It could be a telepathic message from the WW to Jon announcing their confrontation in the near future, or it could be foreshadowing of a snowy/wintry romance with the true Grey Girl in the near future.

jonsa halloween - day 6 - magic
@jonsa-halloween
Sansa Stark is a witch, and Jon Snow, well, Jon Snow is really just an awful person. When he insults Sansa, she decides to teach him a lesson by turning him into a dog. The only way for him to turn back into a human, is to make a hundred different people call him a good boy.
But all magic comes with a price, and Sansa hadn’t counted on the part of the curse that created a telepathic connection between her and Jon. An angry Jon tries to make Sansa reverse the spell, but she tells him she can’t.
Feeling sorry about what she did and annoyed by Jon howling in her backyard all night and chasing after her cat familiar Lady all day, she decides to help him.
Sansa absolutely loathed Jon in his human form, but spending so much time with him and being able to read his mind, she’ll find out that he’s not as bad as she used to think after all…

Ballet fic pls! And ofc, anything you might want to share re SITR AU ☔️
This idea, like so many, was seeded by random discord conversations, then filtered through my own personal interests, so (at least in vague outline form) it’s got aspects of theater politics, the conflict between doing art because you love it and the knowledge that for reasons beyond your control you’ll never be traditionally successful at it, giving Brienne lady friends because she deserves it (and the mental image of Brienne doing the pas de quatre from Swan Lake with Sansa, Margaery, and Missandei makes my heart happy), and of course messing around with gender. Or it might have, if it ever develops a plot to go with its high-minded ideals.
“I saw you marking the men’s combinations in the back of the room.” His voice was neutral, which only made Brienne more suspicious, more on her guard.
“I like those combinations,” she said defensively. “Women get the occasional grand jete but men get all the flying around.”
“You’ve certainly got the legs for it.” Was that approval in his eyes? “But can you do it for more than sixty-four counts?” Ah, there it was. The inevitable underestimation of her strength.
Well, there was one easy way to prove him wrong. “Pick a variation.”
His eyes widened. “You’re going to try to--”
“I am going to match you beat for beat. Pick a variation.”
Jaime hummed thoughtfully. “Le Corsaire?”
“Too focused on turns,” she scoffed. “If I wanted that I’d go practice Odile variations with Margery.”
“True. Plus it’s often performed topless, so.” She glared at him but refused to dignify his childishness with a verbal response, choosing instead to wait for a serious suggestion. He regarded her for a long moment, during which Brienne desperately wished for telepathic powers. “Don Quixote. Basil’s variation.”
“With the cups?”
“That’s the one.”
“You’re on.”
It was only when they finished, doubled over and panting, that Brienne realized she was still wearing her pointe shoes.
And then there are definitely some USTy, gender-swappy pas de deux shenanigans but I’d have to stop watching ballet youtube and actually write them.
(the variation in question, performed by the inimitable Mikhail Baryshnikov and his beautiful flowing hair can be seen here)
(for the WIP tag thingy)

THE SAME WAY I LIKE MY COFFEE
Summary: Sansa Stark always liked her coffee hot and sweet. She finally found a guy that makes the sentence "I like my men the same way I like my coffee" real to her.
Jon snow has no right to be that hot.
Or: Sansa opens the coffee shop of her dreams, makes great friends and meets an unbelievably hot Jon Snow.
Notes: This work is complete and you can find it all here ;)
****
Intimacy was a very peculiar thing, Sansa usually marveled.
After seven months working door to door with everybody else, she felt like she’d known them all her whole life.
She wasn’t shocked anymore when Ygritte stormed into her café at 10 in the morning, growling at everybody and demanding coffee.
She loved that Margaery would offer her flowers and say she was just using Sansa’s café to promote Highgarden, but never left a card with the vases. Sansa even laughed when her new friend tried to set her up with her older brother.
Tormund’s flirting didn’t bother her anymore, because he was crazy about Brienne, who’d taken to Sansa like an aunt.
Gendry was awfully kind, helping her every time something broke around the café, carrying heavy things for her. It took her months to convince him to call her just Sansa, instead of Miss Stark, but she’d taken to him like a brother –another one.
Gilly loved making Sansa’s frilly aprons, and her baby boy was a treasure. Sam always asked Sansa if she was eating well and taking care of herself.
They were a big family and took so much care of her that Sansa did all she could to repay it as best she could.
Of course, the downside was that they were like a second nosy family and they all wanted to matchmake her with someone.
Also, she knew a bit too much about everyone’s sex life, because God forbid such a thing being private.
She even knew that Margaery had had her nipples pierced by Ygritte, and if that wasn’t way too much information, she didn’t know what was.
Ygritte had been trying to convince Sansa to get a real tattoo, because –apparently –Sansa’s “sorority tattoos” –as Ygritte herself called them –weren’t good enough.
Sansa knew that her tattoos –a small star behind her left ear and the word “family” on her ribs –might look cliché and silly to Ygritte, but she loved delicate things.
Ygritte was a great artist –she had amazing drawings with Celtic designs –but they weren’t Sansa’s style and she admitted it to the other redhead.
Ygritte had accepted that explanation, but made Sansa promise to get a decent tattoo. The Stark girl just laughed and agreed.
They made a weird group, but it was good all the same.
Her family came to visit often and Sansa couldn’t help but notice that –after some time –Robb would always bring her flowers from Margaery’s shop and that he arrived with a blush on his cheeks. She also noticed that Arya had started bringing her motorcycle to Gendry’s shop and the thing seemed to be breaking an awful lot recently.
Both Robb and Arya insisted that she was crazy and there was nothing there.
Sansa never expected that by leaving the security of her family she could have so much. Yes, it was difficult, money was short for the first time in her life. But she was taking care of herself, paying her own bills and she actually felt useful, like she was doing something.
She felt she was worth something, not just a stupid girl.
Joffrey had called her a stupid girl and so had Harry. Petyr called her that like it was term of endearment.
She was not stupid. She was showing them all.
XxX
“Hey, Red. Can you make fifty of those pink glittery cupcakes of yours by Friday?”
Sansa had given up pointing out to Ygritte that they were both redheads and it was strange for the other woman to call her Red.
It made no difference to Ygritte.
“It’s possible.” Sansa confirmed after thinking for a bit. “I thought you hated pink.”
Ygritte was one of the least girly girls Sansa had ever met. Ygritte never wore pink –or lavender and peach, for that matter. She indeed reminded Sansa a lot of Arya, and perhaps that was why her baby sister and the artist got along so well.
“I do.” Ygritte agreed, after taking a sip from her pint. They were at Tormund’s, as usual. “But it isn’t for me. I’ve got a new guy coming to work at the shop and this will be his ‘welcome party’ thing.”
Sansa snorted. “How mature.”
Sansa didn’t normally take orders, because she had –until very recently –run the café by herself. She actually loved doing cupcakes and cakes and decorating them. She was planning on having a workshop for kids during Christmas week, so they could come to the café and decorate cookies and gingerbread men.
Now that she had two people working for her, she had a bit more of time to do things like that, but she normally only did it for her friends.
Ygritte snickered. “Jon is so bloody serious and brooding.” She explained making a face. “Some pink might do him good.”
Margaery turned to face Ygritte so fast that Sansa feared she’d given herself whiplash. “Jon? Jon Snow?” She asked. “The infamous ex-boyfriend?”
Sansa arched a brow. This was a new piece of information to her, she didn’t remember Ygritte ever mentioning an ex-boyfriend, infamous or not.
“Yup.” Ygritte confirmed with a smirk.
Sansa kind of wanted to ask why he was infamous –especially because Margaery said it like it was a good kind of infamy, if that was possible –but time had taught her that she probably didn’t want to know.
Sansa sipped her Cosmopolitan and waited for Margaery to say something else. The Free Folk didn’t serve any type of cocktail –at all –but Sansa had commented once how she missed Cosmopolitans and Tormund had sighed and grumbled, but eventually Brienne made him learn how to make them for her. Margaery loved it, because she spent a long time trying to convince him to prepare anything for her, but couldn’t and now they had Cosmos.
Tormund refused to make them for anybody else and the two glasses he had and everything needed to make the drink was kept separate, just for the two ladies.
Tormund was such a sweetheart sometimes.
“Jon, you say?” The man himself spoke. “The lad with the dark hair and a mighty frown?”
Ygritte nodded.
“How come I’ve never heard of him?” Sansa finally asked.
“Don’t know.” Ygritte shrugged. “I don’t go around talking about past guys. Or girls.” Margaery snickered from her seat. “But Jon and I are still friends. He’s been around once or twice. Sam knows him.”
The doctor, upon hearing his name, turned to them too. “Who?”
“Jon.” Margaery offered.
“Oh yes.” Sam smiled. “He’s nice.”
“I’ve never met him.” Margaery informed Sansa. “Just heard the stories.” She traded a smirk with Ygritte and Sansa was defeated by her curiosity.
“Ok… What is he infamous for?” She asked, knowing she was likely to regret it.
The smirk on Ygritte’s face was positively filthy. “For how good he is at oral. Quite enthusiastic at it, too.”
Sansa could hear Sam berating Ygritte for saying something like that and she could feel how hot her face was, as she blushed.
“Ygritte!” She chided the other woman. “Seriously, what’s with you? Now I’ll look at the guy and imagine him between your legs.”
Just after she had said it she realized how terrible that sounded.
Margaery was cackling in delight and even Ygritte and Tormund were laughing, while Gilly giggled and Sansa felt her face heat up even more.
“You can always imagine him going down on you, if you want.” Ygritte offered with another grin.
“Oh my God!” Sansa covered her face with her hands, because she couldn’t believe where this conversation had gone.
Not that she was shocked, more often than not they ended up talking about sex.
She didn’t even know the guy!
“I’m offering as a friend.” Ygritte spoke, fake sympathy in her voice, as she patted Sansa in the back.
Sansa snorted before she could stop herself.
Margaery arched a brow. “Sansa… You’ve had a guy go down on you before, right?” She asked carefully, lower so only the three other women could hear the question.
Sansa refused to answer that question.
“You’re shitting us, right?” Ygritte demanded.
This time Sansa just shook her head.
She had never explained how terrible her past relationships had been. She did tell Margaery and Gilly a bit more about them, but honestly, she had softened it so much they had no idea. She didn’t want them to look at her and see the poor rich girl with shitty taste in men.
So no, no oral sex, no good sex at all, to be honest. When she’d dated Joffrey she was way younger and those things didn’t cross her mind. Harry thought it was disgusting, even though he all but demanded she did it for him. Then there was Petyr Baelish…
He had been all charming, taking advantage of her when she was fragile, still shaken because of her breakup with Harry. He was way older than her –old enough to be her father –and he had cajoled her with sweet words and promises until he managed to get her in his bed.
Then he showed her his true colors, all the promises of sweet pleasure left behind for his own enjoyment.
Sansa never felt worse than she did the morning after that night.
The three other women traded looks between them, like they were having some kind of telepathic conversation. Eventually Gilly was the one to speak, “That’s fine, darling.”
Sansa cleared her throat. “Oh, sure. My fault for having crappy boyfriends, I guess.”
Ygritte was frowning and ready to open her mouth, when Margaery cut her. “Well, darling, some nice human being invented ‘massagers’ just for that.” She even made the quote signs around the word massager. “Fantastic little things.”
Sansa was squealing with laughter and telling Margaery to shut up, but at least she wasn’t sad anymore.
It was okay, because Margaery, Gilly and Ygritte had every intention of making sure that Sansa lived her life to the fullest. And –hopefully –got laid in the process.

JB Verse Guide
With my paragraph prompt collection Cubs and Gemstones only growing in size, I was asked to tag individual verses for easier reading. The following list includes verses created from my full-length stories and my various prompt collections. All the verses listed here have had multiple prompts/stories posted; the tags will include the original tumblr prompts, any headcanons, and any related works. The list will be updated as new ‘verses are created. All moodboards are created by the amazing @resthefuture
Happy reading!
