Only trait that I think a Starscream always has is that Starscream is persistent as HELL. He just doesn't let shit go, he always keeps coming back no matter how much you knock him down.

He's going to figure out a way , no matter who or what gets in his way. Rational or irrational.

I think I admire that in him alot.

big fan of tfp skystar when knock out is jealous. like he's trying not to be obvious about it but it is so obvious. and he's justified in being bitter about this. how come starscream gets his not-so-little boyfriend back, but he can't get his conjux?

i imagine this would probably sour whatever relationship was between starscream and knock out at that time. gay best friend platonic break-up but it's done via ghosting and snarky comments.

skyfire would be so sweet to him tho. he doesn't get why knock out is being an ass and he wants to know, man!! he's being so patient and persistent and it just annoys knock out even more. what makes skyfire worthy of coming back? what makes him different from breakdown? knock out hates how much skyfire's behavior reminds him of his late conjux. he also doesn't like that he has to share a workspace with him.

maybe they end up as friends, maybe they don't, i dunno. we'll see. i love tfp skystar... i love skystar. and i love knock out sulking over his dead hubby. :3

Tfp shockwave with scientist cybertronian s/o that got critically injured in battle

Of course! Sometimes I feel like I dont know how to do Shockwaves personality, So I hope I did him correctly the last few times I've wrote for him. Also, I hope headcannos are okay, Hope this is what you were looking for. Enjoy :)

He was already worried about you being on anyfeild. And then you go and get critically injured in battle. He won't let you go into battle without him again. That will NEVER EVER happen again. You can try but he will always be there with you.

If youre married, He takes the through sickness and health seriously. Get sick, he'll drop almost everything for you, just like he did when you got injured. Except, when injured he will drop EVERYTHING. In the middle of a meeting with Megatron, He's gotta go. Fixing someone Con, He's gotta go. Talking to Starscream, this is perfect, He's gotta go.

I also feel like he'd be upset with himself for allowing such injuries to happen to you, he might beat himself up for a bit, and promise himself to never allow you to go out without him.

For the first few dsays he wouldn't let you leave his lab without him. He's just afriad you might hurt yourself even more, or might strain somehting because you were so persistant on going by yourself.

He have you a little set up in his lab as well. A nice little corner that has everything you need to either continue doing your job, if you wanted, or just to relax. Have you proped up where he can see you, but also get to you if he needs to. He's just caring for his lover, which is sooo freaking cuteeee

If your injuries were to much for you and you were in a coma. He WOULDN'T leave your bedside. One of his servos interlocked with yours while the other held onto the bedside. I feel like he's the type to only do this when its just him in your room, if someone else is there, eh stand back and just watching you.

He'll speak to you in your coma, he'll talk as if your awake. Speaking about new inventions he's made, or something he did or said that remined him of you. Especailly if you're in a coma for a superrrr long time. He'll tell you about future Con plans, or soemthing that happened to another Con. He'd even rant about things to you, Bright red optic staring at you, waiting for a response.

I also feel like if hes one to after you almost die he'd express his feels a tad bit more. Lingering stares, and maybe the odd servo holding if he's worried about you and your well being. He'd jsut realise he can't lose you, and if he does he wouldn't be the same.

He'd be so happy when you awoke, He would do everything in his power to keep you by his side. Oh and don't let him get stared on the things he's made while you were sleeping. He'd bring you to everyone and tell you exactly what they do and how he did it. He's just happy your almost back to healthy and your back at his side. :)

Top 5 Decepticons?

5: tfp soundwave. The mans is amazing with he groundbridge skills and has a very pretty design. The datacables are by FAR an interesting idea and I wish I could have a visor like his. He's the oil in the Nemesis's joints and one of the few characters whose body language i can not only read but enhances him.

4: sadly mtmte Tarn. His design is interesting, he's pathetic as hell and that means i must bully him and want to fuck him. The mask is cleverly designed, he interacts with the rest of the DJD in an interesting way, and his Voice is a cool concept and i wish i could further understand how it works. I hate him so much that I'm obligated to put him in juuuuust out of the top three

3: g1 Starscream. His ass is Fun. I absolutely love his color scheme, her helm looks so discordant from the white/red/blue frame that it seems like Starscream is in a full body suit. Her persistent desire to become the leader of the Decepticons, the random screaming like yes! I also have major issues keeping my voice down and I wish i could just scream please. Starscream was a scientist and had a frozen boyfriend and is 100% the face of g1 in my opinion

2: tfa Strika. Tbh we don't see a lot of her in series but I enjoy her design, the anomalous marriage to Lugnut, and in general wish we could see her more in future series girlboss needs to come back. Her being a general makes me have so many questions about the tfa Decepticon command structure besides megs the sic and the tic, and fr her colors are super pleasing and I enjoy how she's not some little lithe mech who looks like a living barbie doll no she's built to cause some damage. She's big, she's destructive, she runs her shit well, and she has serious bisexual husband energy

1: you know full well I'm putting Megatron here, and as far as continuity I cannot decide. I love tfp Megatron's obsession with the purple crack and his design and im biased as that's the first megan i was introduced to and the one i find myself going nuttiest for fanon depictions of him. I find mtmte Megatron so intriguing especially his introduction to the flying asylum known as the Lost Light and the slow and steady redemption arc. I Love how tfe Megatron not only has a human buddy but hasn't lost the g1 energy— instead he's channeled it to help people. BW Megatron is fucking hilarious with his yessssss and his face and being Inferno's royalty. G1 Megatron is So Goddamn Erratic in just the best way possible and I've seen so many fun depictions of him. TFA Megatron is amazing because we see him succeeding at playing nice with the humans, he hates Earth so goddamn much it's hilarious, instead of dealing with tfa Starscream's bullshittery he just up and shoots them, and I honestly think it was a good decision to have him wired into the lab as a head in the first season. Plus, in general you can see the attitude that people have towards Megatron changing and how he's slowly changing depiction to depiction. He's gone from your average literally and metaphorically two dimensional character to a massively intriguing mech known to be many people's favorite.

TfP Shockwave x scientist Mech reader

The reader is one of the best scientists on Cybertron, haveing knowledge of basic first aid. He met Megs in the Pits of Kaon. When the war broke out he sided with Megs, and put him in charge of trying to start Project predacon without Shockwave.

This leads to many sleepless nights and one experiment after the other all in failure.

(Megatron doesn't mind cuz of course the reader is making better progress in the lab then Starscream in anything-)

But when Shockwave is on board he sees all this progress, just overall impressed that the reader made it this far with only a hand full of old notes of his lol.

Shockwave could honestly say he was still impressed after all these months of working with you. When he first stepped on board he was blown away but how much you'd done from just a few of his notes. You amazed him every day with your progress and persistence. When he found you pouring over notes from the both of you, more frustrated than he'd ever seen you, he wasn't sure what to think.

"(Y/N)," his deep, booming voice rang out through the lab, and you quickly looked up at him. "What are you doing? The work day is over. You've made excellent progress. It's illogical for you to continue to work, as neglecting your rest will only hinder you."

"I've made no progress, Shockwave! No matter what, everything I do ends in failure! I'm no closer to getting any answers than I was when I started this damn project! You're notes are so detailed and have so much data in them, and I still can't get it right! I need help, Shockwave. I can't do this on my own."

"You are not on your own," Shockwave tilted his head in confusion. It's true, you weren't. He'd also been conducting experiments and sharing his findings with you. You'd been working more or less together, but you obviously didn't see it like that.

"I know I just..." You sighed. "I feel like I'm running in place. All this work with no pay off..."

"There is pay off."

"What? Being able to tell Megatron I failed without getting berated?"

"No. Data."

"Data?"

"Data."

"What do you mean?"

"Every time you fail, you fill in a gap in the data," Shockwave moved toward you, his large form filling the room in a comforting sort of way. "I admire your perseverance and dedication. Every unsuccessful experiment is one step closer to finding a solution that works." His servo cupped your face places. He softly stroked your cheek. "I admire you so much that I have begun to have some rather distracting thoughts and feelings."

"Have you?" You were in a daze, gazing into his large, red optic, frustration forgotten. Shockwave nodded. The lab was silent, and all the two of you could focus on was one another. The air around you was dense with longing, and you wondered if the spell the two of you were under would ever break.

Personally, I don't ship them together, but I understand why some people do X). In any case, for me it is sure that they are BFF without question XD! Even if it's a weird friendship, and sometimes a little toxic, it's still a friendship ^^. But I totally agree that Screamer needs a sexy bot to save him from Megatron… (TvT)… But his hero would have to be more than sexy, he would have to be strong too ! And unfortunately KnockOut really isn't :’)… Ah… Skyfire, we need you (TwT)…

Also, watch TFP, it's really a series not to be missed ^^ I'm sure you'll like it! Well, that's what made me dive into Transformers, so maybe I'm not very objective XD but hey, I recommend it anyway X)! * And I also think that Starscream and Skyfire could have remained friends in the G1… It's really too bad that their relationship ended so abruptly… Especially since in the rest of the series, their old friendship seems non-existent… How sad (T<T)… I would love to see a story where their relationship persists, even through war. It would make a wonderful series, and it would also prove that the Decepticons have a Spark too :3

Transformers Prime

Oooooo!

The first character I first fell in love with: I first watched the show back in 2011 so it's really hard to recall for sure whom was the first, I think it might've been Megatron though.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Arcee. Back when I was watching the show in the early 2010s I really didn't care for her. But her entire character arc-especially the trauma aspect of it all-really stuck out to me as an adult.

Also Ratchet, adore him way more now than I did back then too.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Optimus Prime. Maybe he's not as popular as I think he is, but both back then and still today I see a fair share of people praising this version of Optimus. For me, he's one of my least favorite Optimuses. The short version of why is that I find him to a boring cardboard cutout of Optimuses prior and his advice to Arcee doesn't sit well with me.

The character I love that everyone else hates: Probably Airachnid, although "like" is more accurate. I thought that she was a creepy, dangerous antagonist and things like her killing Tailgate and Decepeticon teammate Breakdown solidified what her role was in the story: a threatening rogue Decepticon. Still doesn't make her likeable per say and I am still disappointed how her danger/creepy factor seemed to diminish over the course of the series (or at least it wasn't as strong like in her debut episode).

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Megatron. I'll give him credit for the clever plans he has, but I recall liking him a lot more when I was younger than I do now, where my feelings towards him are indifferent/neutral.

The character I would totally smooch: Arcee needs a kiss on the cheek. And hugs. And therapy.

The character I’d want to be like: I strive to have that kind of courage and persistence to keep fighting despite the internal struggles like Arcee does.

The character I’d slap: Silas, but he's dead now so I guess maybe I don't need to. Maybe just for good measure anyway...

A pairing that I love: Cliffjumper x Arcee, Breakdown x Knockout, and Optimus Prime x Ratchet.

A pairing that I despise: There's quite a few, but the big ones for me are Optimus Prime x Smokescreen, Airachnid x Arcee, Megop, and Megastar.

I don't like Optimus x Bumblebee either, but unlike that ship Optimus Prime x Smokescreen was a ship I used to like when I was younger (like, 13 or 14 I think). It didn't take long for me to make some realizations and have a change of perspective. Nowadays the ship brings bad flashbacks to my younger self and makes me cringe. And yes, everyone is allowed to make fun of and criticize younger me for liking this pairing (in hindsight, I kinda wish someone did so at the time).

Considering that Airachnid is a largely responsible for the trauma Arcee has and the way I've come to love Arcee in recent years, you can probably guess why Airachnid x Arcee doesn't sit well with me.

TFP Megop is the other Megop pairing that I've soured to over the years. You can blame shitty fanfics and bad takes I read in the past for making me lose interest in this pairing.

There's only a couple versions of Megastar I can like to some extent, but TFP is one of two that activates my fight or flight. I'm sure fans have come up with good AUs for this ship and ways to write about their relationship turning for the better, but 1.) I am just as suspect of Megastar fans as I am of Megop fans and 2.) the bad relationship Megatron and Starscream have in canon negatively impacts my views on TFP Megastar. And when that happens, that means I’m less willing to consider getting invested in AU ideas.

i'm think you're talking about the person from earlier, so here's an explanation:

basically there's a certain starscream fan that has very... strange posts, which were way more obvious on their old blog before being called out for plagiarism (?) and rebranding (though it's kind of obvious it's the same person lol). basically, this person is an odd one; they repeatedly ranted about $tar$cream's abuse in tfp and how bad m*gatron treated her but would reblog/post a lot about m#gast*r on their old blog, had a weird hate boner for m!ko+ar-cee (particularly ar-cee, passive aggressively blaming her for star not getting a redemption and a lot more awful things), and weird fetishistic 'prompts' about $tar$cream that would range from everyone from the cast wanting him "platonically" to blatant tickle fetish erotica.

they would also send an influx of $tar$cream tickle torture prompts to many other users, particularly writers, and have a very distinguished typing style that made it obvious it was them (adding an emoji to the end of their ask, most usually a star emoji). they would constantly persist a lot of users to write about $tar$cream tickle torture, asking for a lot of... "variations" of basically that. sometimes these would be worded where it was supposedly just innocent fun, but for others it was outright obvious it was a fetish (tackled on with a foot fetish too).

like a lot of tfp $tar$cream weirdos they had an huge obsession and fascination with him being abused, often creating a lot of prompts where it was basically just m*gatron abusing him and/or the autobots being absolute weirdos towards him. since they had a hate boner for ar-cee, they would usually demonize and vilify her, saying that she would probably enjoy him being hurt (???). the thing is... they made the $tar$cream tag unbearable, as they usually always tagged their posts with a lot of tags and never bothering to censor it. they also shared that vaguely transmisogynistic attitude towards starscream a lot of people have so that was something.

tl;dr weird tfp $tar$cream fan who has a tickle fetish and possible abuse fetish like every other weird tfp $tar$cream fan made the tags hell and was generally weird towards a lot of people (especially writers), but has since abandoned that blog and has tried to rebrand like nothing ever happened. they probably check my blog so yeah lol.

Unlike TFP!Starscream, this Starscream is actually 99% smug about his s/o loving him up by cuddling him and preening his wings just right! This is why he has s/o as his s/o! They know just how to treat him perfectly! (Of course, he also does the same back for his s/o, just more of a brat when he does it.)His s/o being loving and preening him boost his already too big ego.

Starscream is always the one doing the preening for himself and his s/o, so it’s a special occasion when s/o can actually get him to agree to them preening him. He wants to do all the preening for the both of them! It’s his duty as their court-partner (mechfriend, intended, etc.) to care for himself and his s/o!He loves how they preen him when he lets them preen him, and he loves how they much of a cuddle bug his s/o is! Starscream X Reader – Undeserving Part 1 of 3

A/N – Hey, your English is incredible, you’re doing great sweet-pea.

Warnings – Angst.

Rating – T

Starscream gritted his dentae, hissing as he forced his arm to bend, breaking free of the icy build-up within his joints. The cold was locking up his mechanics every few clicks, but that was the cost of setting up his base in the Antarctic. His current problems of freezing up could be easily rectified if he went inside, but he couldn’t bring himself to… not yet anyway.

Until now, he thought the day had went well. He’d taken a risk, attacking the Autobots for some much energon in one of the dilapidated mines, long since picked dry by Megatron. Instead of finding energon, Starscream managed to capture you from that bumbling oaf Bulkhead. After that, he’d taken you back to his base where he’d formed the perfect plan to trade you for a functioning T-Cog; it was simple and elegant. Starscream didn’t care where the Autobots got the T-Cog from, they could tear one out of themselves for all he cared, so long as he got one; hell, they probably would do that to save one of their pet humans, but what did it matter? They weren’t flyers anyway, inferior Autobots.

By all accounts, Starscream should have been happy, but as he felt the ice locking up his knee joints, he still didn’t want to go inside. Although he’d never met you before, he remembered all previous encounters with the other Autobot pets. They were rude and full of insults which he pretended to ignore until the time to recharge came, when the ugly words scarred his mind, almost making him believe them. Despite always claiming to be perfect, after millennia of being harassed and tortured for any minor inconvenience, it was becoming increasingly difficult for Starscream to view himself as anything but worthless.

With a heavy sigh, Starscream fought away the darkness in his processor that threatened to be his downfall. He left the icy tundra in favour of the base which could protect him from the cold but left him vulnerable to the much shaper attack of your words.

Putting up his usual façade of confidence and superiority like a knight donning armour, Starscream passed you, frowning when you said nothing. He turned to check you were still there, despite knowing escape was impossible. Sure enough, you were huddled in the corner, rubbing your arms to keep warm; Starscream didn’t recognise the action and he didn’t care enough to ask what you were doing.

Under Starscream’s scrutinous glare, you began feeling awkward; maybe that was why you gave a small wave. Starscream stepped back, shocked by the action.

“Sorry,” You said bashfully, retracting your hand. “I don’t really know what the social convention is for being uh… kidnapped.”

“…Yes, well… It’s not that,” Starscream answered almost dutifully.

You nodded slowly, “Right, yep, noted. I um- Sorry, could you tell me what you’re planning to do with me? I mean, I don’t really know what the protocol is for this, usually you take Miko or Raf, y’know.”

Starscream eyed you curiously.

You felt more pressure to end the silence, “I um- I think I’ve made things weird and not the good weird, it’s more like the weird you get when you call a teacher dad or something. Should we start again? I feel like we should. You should go out and come back in and I’ll be quiet and then you can say something, and I’ll follow your lead.”

Starscream had no intention of repeating the unusual interaction, but he did find your assessment correct; the situation had indeed become ‘weird.’ Despite the unusual situation, he was glad he didn’t have to deal with the usual insults, escape attempts, and general bad behaviour; it was about time he got a reasonable captive.

“To be honest,” You babbled, “I’m just glad you came back. You pretty much left straight after putting me in here and without you, I’d starve. You shouldn’t just leave like that okay? What if something bad happened to you? I can’t call for help in here, what would happen to you then?”

“I won’t kill you, human,” Starscream said in an attempt to regain control of the derailed conversation.

“I gathered that much, but it still begs the question, what are you going to do with me?”

He grinned, eager to monologue his brilliant plan to a civilised hostage for once. “Well, if you must know human-”

“(Y/N).”

“What?”

“My name,” You told him. “It’s (Y/N). Sorry, no more interruptions, carry on. I was just setting the record straight… Take it away.”

Starscream bit back a lopsided grin, turning it into his trademark scowl. How was it possible for you to be so awkwardly uncharismatic? More importantly, why did he find your social ineptitude so endearing? Concluding that he was simply starved of intelligent conversation, Starscream continued, “Whatever hu- Ah, (Y/N). To put it simply for your tiny organic brain, I’m going to trade you back to the Autobots for a T-Cog.”

“What’s a T-Cog?”

Starscream rolled his eyes, wondering how he was going to get anything done with your constant interruptions.

“You don’t need to know what it is, only that I plan to trade you for one.”

“Does it have something to do with your alt-mode?” You persisted.

“How did you-”

“When we were in the mines… You didn’t use your alt mode. To be honest, I’m impressed you managed it, I mean, your missiles must be very effective to trump Bulkhead’s brute strength. Oh, and how did you get the ground-bridge to work without a console? Did you rig it up to a remote or something?”

Starscream was astonished that you’d figured all that out from an educated guess. If he was honest, the ground-bridge remote didn’t work according to plan; after he’d taken you, and barely escaped through it, the remote lost all power and without the proper tools, he knew he wouldn’t be able to repair it. “Ugh, why do you ask so many incessant questions?” He huffed. “Never mind, I have much work to do-”

“Do you have more plans?”

“Excuse me?”

“Unless you have more plans that I don’t know about, you don’t really have that much work to do. All you have to do is call the Autobots with your demands, right?”

“Uh, well I-”

You patted the floor, indicating for Starscream to sit outside your cell.

“You expect me to lower myself and sit on the floor?” He said disgustedly.

You shrugged, “Sit, don’t sit. Either way, I think you have time to talk with me, come tell me about yourself.”

Starscream stared at you somewhere between hope and suspicion, “Why?”

You smiled, “Would you relax? I can’t do anything from in here, I just wanted to understand you better. You seem like a smart guy, I think it’ll be nice having you to talk to while I’m here, and from the looks of things, I’d wager you’d like a bit of decent conversation as well, right? So, tell me about yourself.”

Starscream raised an eyebrow plate before relenting, “Very well, I suppose I could spare a few clicks.”

Starscream didn’t know what he was doing, hanging around with you like you were his equal. He’d even considered letting you out of your cell more than once, which was insane; if you were free, you would run, and he refused to lose you like that. He hadn’t even called the Autobots yet, and they were bound to be searching for you and him by now; it had been exactly three weeks since your capture, so they had to be closing in on his location.

Starscream desperately needed a T-Cog, he didn’t feel whole without one, yet if he gave you back would he be left with the same kind of emptiness? Were you now a part of him like his T-Cog had once been? No, it would be far worse to lose you because unlike a T-Cog, you had the capability to care for him, evidently valuing him for some reason he didn’t understand.

Starscream growled, careful to keep the sound low as he sat in the dark, watching you sleep, ever peaceful in your cell. What he needed was another plan, one that would guarantee him both you and a new T-Cog. He considered the conundrum for a long time, attempting to come up with anything that would help. If he was aboard the Nemesis with all his previous resources such a plan would be easy, but now he had nothing and thinking of the past wasn’t helping.

You shivered in your sleep, an action Starscream now understood. He sighed, knowing the only way he could keep you truly warm would be to hold you against his spark. What was he thinking? He was thinking of you like a spark-mate, not a prisoner or even a friend. How much longer could he lie to himself? Eventually, his walls would crumble, and he feared what would happen when they did.

He got up silently, leaving you to your world of dreams. He would return to you in the morning, hopefully with a plan that would allow him to keep you.

Starscream put up a front on confidence to greet you the next morning. “Are you awake yet (Y/N)? I want to talk more about-”

He stopped, gasping anxiously at the sight that met him. You were stood in the corner, holding the wall for support, purging your tank of the little contents it had left. The food Starscream had brought for you was supposed to last a few days, but it had been weeks and you’d carefully rationed everything you had, until finally, your weakened body could no longer handle the strain.

“(Y/N)…” Starscream whispered. “WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?! Is this one of those awful human processes that’s normal? If so, you will be cleaning it up.”

You shuddered, groaning when you were apparently done, “Don’ feel so good.”

Starscream panicked at your lack of a comeback, you were supposed to laugh it off and tell him you were glad he was concerned; you always saw through him, why didn’t you say anything about his façade now? “What’s happening? Is it the cold?”

You took one wobbly step from the corner before losing your balance and stumbling to the floor.

Starscream lowered the cell’s barrier, dropping to his knees and picking you up. He cradled you close to his spark, which radiated warmth even behind the thick metal plating that protected it. “See,” he said, “I can keep you warm… I can fix this.”

Your head rolled back as you lost consciousness. Starscream knew this was more than a simple matter of cold; he also knew he wasn’t equipped to heal a sick human. Carrying you over to the computer console, he found Prime’s contact details, hesitating to make the call, all too aware that if he did, he’d lose you.

“I- I don’t want to let you go. You won’t come back… Nobody ever comes back.”

Coolant leaked from his optics. He quivered, unable to remember the last time he’d cried. How were you able to elicit such powerful emotions in him after only three weeks? Mixed in with the sadness was a feeling he’d only ever hear of, yet he recognised it instantly. Guilt. He felt guilty that he’d somehow caused you to be ill.

“I’m sorry,” He said, pressing his helm into your clammy skin. “How could I ever think that you could be with a monster like me… Dreams are a waste of time.”

He pulled himself together long enough to place you gently on the computer console, which he then used to call Optimus Prime. “Filthy Autobot, I’m sending coordinates to your disgusting human pet. After all this time it didn’t know anything; torturing it was useless after all.”

With that lie, Starscream hung up, leaving the base without so much as a look back. He wondered if you would ever come to know the reason he lied, should you live. He hoped you knew it was so the Autobots would take every precaution to keep you away from him; clearly, he couldn’t be trusted to protect you himself.

After staying out in the cold as long as he could do so without shutting down, Starscream risked going back into the base. As suspected, the Autobots had clearly used a ground-bridge to collect you; they’d probably left immediately afterwards, seeing the state you were in.

Dejectedly, Starscream went to your cell, unable to tear his optics from the stale vomit in the corner. This was for the best, you deserved the world, and he had to suffer the inevitably long life of a Cybertronian alone. He punched the wall, buckling against it afterwards and crying for the second time that day; once again he had failed, but for the first time in his life, it mattered.

Lilith and Starscream are a little rocky at times but fare decently in general.  Just part of being married to Starscream

Honestly none of them cope well but Lilith has learned to accept and move on better than others.  Megs hides his feelings but ends up lashing out at people over that.

Ofc I don’t hate any of them!  And Megs grew on me a lot over time.

All of them are their own variation of sinners. Currently none of them will actively plan to terminate anyone, but I wouldn’t put it past any of them, especially Megs and Lilith.  Jackie isn’t out for blood/energon all that much.  Megs is trying to be a better mech for his wife, and Lilith doesn’t really have anyone on the radar at the moment (although she tries other methods of solving the problem first).

No one (including him) is really sure how this came to be,but there it is. And this human is in for a ride.

He struts everywhere in dragon form. No way is he demeaninghimself by taking on a human shell. This human should be in awe of him! Enoughso to fall to their knees and beg to be his mate!

Comes up with elaborate plans to abduct the human in orderto take them to locations where he can show them his true might. Always fails.

Lots of talking about himself.  Like, if the human shows any interest in aconversation with this magical creature, they probably won’t for long.

Eventually becomes convinced that he would be moresuccessful if he were the leader of the Decepticons. Surely, they would have noroom to deny him them.

It’s a vicious cycle.

 Knockout:

Holy crap, this human needs to duck and cover if he decideshe’s pursuing them as a mate. He’s used to getting what he wants, and, as faras he is concerned, he’s a master atthis sort of thing.

Isn’t above taking on a ridiculously attractive human formto pursue them more…closely.

Lots of gifts and such, all followed with a smirk andcomment about how he’s as generous as he is beautiful. KO pls.

The human had better be prepared to put some effort intofighting him off if he decides he’d like to get a bit physical. They shouldalso note that his persistence makes this difficult.

Likely does actually care about the human he’s pursuing but…he’sentitled, which appears in the form of narcissism of the highest degree.

 Breakdown:

Big, awkward bruiser who has no clue what he’s doing.

Tries to play it off as badass bluster. Usually succeeds,but, he’s a softie underneath.

Will fite people. Like, the human may need to assure himthat, just because that random person didn’t reply to their ‘good morning’ isnot a good reason to go threaten them.

Likes to do simple things to pamper his human. Flowers,offers to take them flying, etc.

Is terrified of moving too fast and scaring them off. At thestart of things, he would lack the confidence to appear to them in his trueform.

Great at complimenting his human and loves it if his humancompliments him (please, mention his muscles. He’s very proud.)

Physical contact is a must in relationship building. He willhold his human’s hand at every chance.

Top 5 reasons I like Windblade

She doesn’t have the war background to give her societal context, just like Tailgate and Nautica don’t, but she’s so fascinating, because she’s put herself right in the middle of a political minefield

AND she went into this hornet’s nest (and stayed there, almost completely alone) because she thought it was the right thing to do

Plus oh my goodness the whole thing with not wanting to depose Starscream and trying to work with him, even while disagreeing him on a philosophical level? And even while he’s being… Starscream? It’s so rare to see a character in here who willingly dives into that kind of compromise instead of having to be fenced into it, and her doing this with Starscream despite how difficult he makes it, just. I love her so much.

Ahhhhh, that balance of idealism (and the sort of construction-focused ambition that goes with her flavor of idealism) against the way people keep trying to tie her down or cage her, and how she manages to hold onto her ideals even while the world is beating on her. I’d say ‘that moment in TAAO 12′, but… everything in TAAO 12. From saving Starscream to helping forge him fresh to what she says to vigilem about the spark burning away ‘everything that isn’t true’ (that’s so conditional, I choose to believe he isn’t 100% gone. brain ghost titans are too good to waste).

And she’s so good. She’s so persistently kind and sweet, and she’s so naturally caring, but without it devolving into any sort of boring caretaker stereotype. She’s just so good-hearted and I adore her. I don’t know if I could dislike her.

Top 5 reasons I like windscream

Let’s lead off with that frivolous sixth reason this time: they are two gorgeous mechs who look gorgeous together, and even have complementary color schemes. It’s meant to be (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) Also, FEMDOM.

Then, let’s see. The way they disagree very strongly on like… the fundamentals of how to approach a task. Politics is the easy one, but tbh… almost any task. They often share end goals, but so much about them is so incredibly different, and it makes for an electric dynamic. They constantly disagree, but they orbit each other so naturally. I write mostly Windblade POV, but they’ve both got this massive undercurrent of fascination with the other one that neither of them wants to admit to themselves or out loud (windblade’s a little more willing, just because she doesn’t see attachment as a vulnerability the way starscream does).

She’s so young and innocent and inexperienced (even though she’s gaining experience very quickly), and he’s older than the war and incredibly cynical/paranoid/burned out. Neither of those positions are sustainable. But if it makes sense, like… it’s hard to see the weak spots in your OWN position, it’s easier to see them for other people. They’re perfect complements for each other, once they manage to actually listen. In a political sense, but also on a more personal, emotional level.

She doesn’t have that war background that most of the cast has. So many people have so many reasons not to trust/like Starscream. Which is, y’know. Justified. From both sides. And even if he’s genuinely trying to build something of himself PAST the war now, there are really not many people who will give him a fair shake. Windblade isn’t totally ignorant of his history or anything, I’m sure, but not living it herself makes it a little easier to look at Starscream and trust him to not be that same person with those same priorities.

They are both so petty and ridiculous when they’re annoyed, oh my goodness. I don’t know what it is, but these two, just. It flows so naturally. They’re both competent adults doing difficult jobs and doing them pretty well, but stick them together and they’re acting about as mature as middle schoolers trying to provoke each other. It’s fun on its own, but it feels even nicer because 1) Starscream isn’t having his sharp edges filed off, but 2) having all the sharp edges be pointed in this ridiculous, petty direction takes so much genuine venom out of the thing, and makes some space for him to Do An Emotion (and to get somewhere without shooting himself twenty million times in the foot) (nobody does self-sabotage like starscream)

But then, that goodness I mentioned for Windblade up above? If I balance them right, she doesn’t take unjustified shit from him. She works loyally with him as a team, while also arguing the points she disagrees with. She feels lots of sympathy for what she can see of his current emotional state and the bits and pieces of what she gradually learns about his megatron-specific past. But she can do that without turning him into some broken bird she wants to heal. She’s going to be all bristly and protective over anyone who poses a threat, and she’ll try to prod him into eating more or going out for a flight, but she’s not going to flutter and simper over him either. And Starscream has someone who isn’t afraid to fite him, but doesn’t want to do him harm either, and who isn’t drastically changing their everything out of ~pity~ for him. It means a lot to him (secretly) that someone would ever EVER put themself in harm’s way to protect him, but oh my god you idiot you are a baby and have never been in a real fight, YOU get behind ME. The push-pull between them, I just… it makes me sigh the happiest sigh ever

And my top 5 pitch transformers ships! Oh man, this is going to be interesting to break out, because I don’t usually mentally filter on quadrant, I filter on character, or d/s dynamics maybe, trying to pick out all the pitch bits out of the mess is going to be a challenge.

Windblade/Starscream is a gimme after all that up above, so that doesn’t count for the list :P

Drift/Ratchet. I adore these two, and I really really really love the way they went from tense and sometimes hostile to the emotional support they’ve got now. But it doesn’t feel them if Drift isn’t teasing or prodding him. Vulnerability is good, but it’s not like… steady state Drift. Drift is silly and has a sense of humor and is friendly and good natured, and Ratchet is dour, and both of them naturally care a LOT. But they’re opposites in so many ways that I live to see them both quietly being prodprodprod with a curtain of not-exactly-hostility overlaying a whole lot of trust and affection.

Whirl/Cyclonus, although I tend towards a very pitchpale feeling with them instead of pure pitch. But Whirl is not good with soft and squishy emotions, so at least pretending it’s full-on pitch sits better with him. This is a case where there are just soooo many similarities between them, what with their wartime pasts, being lorge and exceptionally good at violence, having a very difficult time with friendly social connections. But also, MAN do they get off to a rough start XD But that bit in 47 where Cyclonus tells Whirl that he knew Whirl would tell him the truth, even if it hurt? And Whirl was brutally honest with him? Oh my god so pitchpale, I DIEEEED. And both of them are bad at communication, both of them are quietly full of moral injuries, both of them are really surprisingly pro-social when they’re put on the spot, and do a LOT to protect other people. I love love love them.

…….Prowl/Rewind. With Chromedome in the middle, but that’s the pitch piece. Not necessarily healthy, but SO EMOTIONALLY CHARGED, holy shit. I poked at this once in a fic (ending disastrously). But I also want to do a near-disaster that works out okay (the solution is to put Chromedome in the middle until the scene has momentum). Or Prowl/Fort Max, which is even more complicated, and may necessitate the addition of Red Alert and Cerebros as buffers between them.

Similarly, Starscream/Windblade/Knock Out, all pitch, with Breakdown on the side being completely made for companionable needling. Starscream and Windblade, I have already said a ridiculous number of words :P Knock Out and Windblade have all this potential to be fascinating to each other, because their cultures are so different, but Windblade was able to get a win in Velocitronian politics, and Knock Out is from a colony with a living, functional titan (one in almost a waking coma, but hey). And they’re both outspoken and open with their thoughts and he can be so petty the same way Starscream can, and it’s deliciously infuriating and she just– (but also, windblade and breakdown being sweet with each other, and exasperated and fond while starscream and knock out get distracted and ridiculous with each other).

And…. hmm hm hm. I don’t have much of a continuity in mind except to specify not IDW, because IDW OP is being an ass. But Starscream/OP. There’s something about Starscream and disillusionment with Megatron as a leader, plus fascination with Megatron’s opposite and parallel, but without dropping the established hostility with the autobots, and demanding as much out of Optimus as he would demand from Megatron, and just, so good. So hard to established without ‘to end this war you need to robot marry’ sorts of scenarios, but soooooo good. So like, in TFP, Optimus is so chill and placid, and Starscream is high-strung and emotional, and everything about them finding a stable orbit with each other is so fun. Or TFA, Starscream is old and cynical, Optimus is young and inexperienced (I sure do love that sort of ship :V), massively differing ideologies, experienced cynicism versus young, idealistic optimism, and a HUGE size difference because mmmm priorities. Lov this ship.

And there are others, where I either haven’t pinned down the words or don’t have a good scenario or justification, or just can’t say as much about them. Soundwave/OP, Soundwave/Starscream, Pyra Magna/OP, Elita One/OP, Pyra Magna/Elita One, Rung/Froid, Overlord/Tarn, Overlord/Megatron, Deathsaurus/Rodimus (shh sh sh it makes sense), Sunstreaker/Sideswipe, Arcee/Prowl, Arcee/Windblade, Elita One/Windblade. Hahaha, I’m trying to run through the cast by characters and see what I remember :P

Bumblebee/Starscream has pitch overtones, but Bumblebee is so much of a sweetheart and Starscream is being open because just a ghost amiright??? and he wobbles out of pitch pretty easily. TFP specifically is good for Knock Out/Bumblebee and Shockwave/Soundwave. Jazz/Starscream is another one that’s superficially pitch, except Jazz is being difficult and slippery and refusing to make a single real move into that quadrant. Some of these might jump into the list if I can get them written out in a story, but for the moment, I can’t quite words them.

Okay, so I have finally figured out exactly why I really don’t like TFP Starscream. I have never really liked him, and I always kind of knew why, but I could never put it into words. Well, now I can, figured it out. Go me.

Apart from his design (which I also am not a fan of, personally) I think he’s written as too much of a coward. And written as being too inept. 

Starscream, in any continuity, is not incapable, and he’s not stupid. Does he do some dumb ass shit? Oh, absolutely. Through a combination of selfishness, distrust, and being so damn full of himself Starscream generally ends up losing whatever he’s gained. Again, however, he’s not dumb, even in TFP. I mean he ran the Decepticons in Megatrons absence just fine. He’s always been an interesting combination of completely capable while totally inept. That’s fine. He’s always been that way. In TFP, though, I think they do it to the point where it’s excessive, and I was just tired of seeing it by the end of the series. 

I also think he’s written as too cowardly. The Starscream I know will basically say “fuck you” to Megatron’s face then cower in fear as his leader makes serious threats on his life. He has always been an interesting combination of fearless coward who was cocky as fuck, to the point where it caused his downfalls. TFP Starscream is only that character behind Megatron’s back. Every time Megatron flinches or raises his voice Starscream in cowering in a corner. That just doesn’t feel right. Every continuity has suffered abuse at the hands of Megatron, and every other Starscream was still willing to get back up and very openly stand up to (to an extent) and criticize his leader. He has always feared Megatron, but his ego has always driven his ability to continually get up and challenge him. 

And that’s one of the things I love about Starscream. His ability to persist. Knowing that what he’s doing or saying is probably going to get him beaten to a bloody pulp, but he has the confidence and attitude to get up and do and say it anyways. 

Granted He is definitely persistent in TFP. He fucks up and gets back up to go ahead and fuck up again. He’s just never felt that much like Starscream to me.
