Know The Difference Between Dissertation Writing & Thesis Writing
In the realm of academia, the terms "dissertation" and "thesis" are often used interchangeably, leading to confusion among students and researchers. However, there are subtle differences between the two, both in terms of purpose and structure. In this article, we shed light on the disparity between dissertation writing and thesis writing, offering clarity to those embarking on their advanced academic journeys.
Tumblr media
Purpose and Audience
The primary difference lies in the purpose and intended audience of the documents. A thesis is typically associated with master's programs, while a dissertation is commonly associated with doctoral programs. A thesis aims to demonstrate the student's mastery of knowledge within a specific field and is typically evaluated by a committee consisting of faculty members. On the other hand, a dissertation is an original research project that contributes new insights or knowledge to the existing body of literature within the respective field of study. Dissertations are often evaluated by a committee of experts in the field and may have a broader readership.
Scope and Depth of Research
Another crucial distinction between dissertations and thesis is the scope and depth of research conducted. While a thesis focuses on synthesizing existing knowledge and demonstrating proficiency in a particular subject area, a dissertation requires original research. Dissertations demand a more extensive investigation, involving data collection, analysis, and interpretation, to produce novel findings or perspectives. Dissertations typically contribute to advancing the understanding of a field or addressing gaps in existing knowledge, whereas thesis focus on a comprehensive understanding of a specific topic.
Length and Structure
In general, dissertations tend to be longer and more comprehensive than thesis. A thesis usually ranges from 50 to 100 pages, whereas a dissertation can span from 100 to several hundred pages. This disparity in length is reflective of the differing levels of research and analysis conducted. However, the specific requirements regarding length and structure can vary between institutions and academic disciplines, so it is essential to consult the guidelines provided by the respective program or department.

Originality and Contribution
As mentioned earlier, one of the fundamental aspects of a dissertation is its originality. Dissertations are expected to contribute something new to the field, whether it is through the discovery of new knowledge, the development of a new theory or framework, or the application of existing knowledge in a novel context. Thesis, on the other hand, are focused on synthesizing existing information and demonstrating the student's ability to critically analyze and evaluate existing research.
Time and Complexity
Given the difference in scope and depth of research, dissertations typically require a more extended period to complete compared to thesis. The process of conducting original research, collecting data, analyzing findings, and writing a comprehensive dissertation demands substantial time and effort. Thesis, while still requiring rigorous analysis and synthesis, can often be completed within a shorter timeframe.
Conclusion
While the terms "dissertation" and "thesis" are often used interchangeably, understanding the distinctions between them is crucial for students and researchers. Dissertations are characterized by original research, a broader scope, and a contribution to the existing body of knowledge, while thesis focus on synthesizing existing information and demonstrating mastery of a subject. By comprehending these differences in purpose, scope, length, and originality, students can embark on their academic journeys equipped with a clear understanding of the expectations associated with dissertation writing and thesis writing.

I really love the concept of an Atsushi / Akutagawa / Kyouka trio as it was shown in Dead Apple, and I really wish it would become a thing. I think it's neat how here Kyouka's dominant color is shown being purple as balance / synthesis of blue and red. Kyouka also uses as this kind of bridge between organizations since she was a member of both at some point, and still holds a very deep understanding of how they work. I think Kyouka could really make the sskk team work as a way to find balance between these two opposites that would otherwise clash and destroy each other.

secret good spn where Early seasons Sam and Dean (s2) meet Late seasons Sam and Dean (post s10); would be especially delicious if it Was s10. The horrors. The debilitating horror of consequences !!! Looking at your reflection in a funhouse mirror and knowing it’s true. Endlessly, endlessly fascinating to me. If any of the show runners had actually tried to execute it, i would have personally driven to CW headquarters to kms in front of them and change the trajectory of their lives forever. But as a concept…very dear to me ❤️

gotta say having been shown that i CAN make friends and CAN hang out with people on a regular schedule without burning out or getting unreasonably weird and CAN be socially spontaneous and AM likable and lovable and company-enjoyable and all else has let me unclench about not having very many buddies in my current city, stop grinding for in-person social connection, let go of the need to be friends with my coworkers, etc. And also accept and embrace how much i enjoy spending time alone -- not just in a personal-preference "wired like this" way but because a lot of my hobbies are solo endeavors, because i focus better on my own, and because i'm just Used To doing stuff solo and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

patron saint of the Third Thing
I LOVE THIS
THIS IS EVERYTHING TO ME
ANON THIS IS, LIKE, SUCH A COMPLIMENT
Taako saying in the Balance finale "there's always a third option" lives in my head forever; I don't always fuckin get there irl but goddamn it's so important to me
and then the secret third theme meme, protection against dichotomies (and writing the fic that had to have that title because every time I thought "it's about X, no wait it's about Y, no actually there's a secret third thing")
third thing as frameworks and then what is outside the framework, and how do you reorient the framework to accommodate that third thing, and what does it do, mentally and emotionally, to step outside and look again?
if there's two obvious (and opposing) options that means I'm missing something, and I should think some more, again I don't always get there but I do try
[tell me anonymously what I would be the patron saint of]

Man reading people attacking someone for pointing out that the anime ending was better than the manga even calling them a troll, using the same surface level arguments and stereotypes makes me ironically relate to those cringe-manga panels:
Tumblr media
Unironically fills me with madness, so I can actually put out the game changing iceberg and be like:
Tumblr media
When people see the truth. Nah joking it will get 5 views and people will say I'm a weirdo freak for making it😂
But in the end it is how it is:
Tumblr media
Thats even the reason why I used to avoid to adress the "fanbase" and reply to other posts, even the past few weeks when I'm doing it I feel like I broke my principals, but I guess I need all the energy to finish the video and actually come to a conclusion that will redeem us all, the soul eaten by this stupid media franchise, in a way that is "authentic", even if only one person will get it.

so i guess the implication was NOT that she was sleeping in a nest of half a dozen swords and one (1) baton. and yet. i read it wrong i guess and internalized that idea like a year and a half ago and it’s not going away now. to me she is a girl who sleeps in a nest of half a dozen swords and one (1) baton forever and ever
