So, former Wiccan here (Attempted Wiccan? I wasn't very good at it).
I have amassed a LOT of art and things over the years. I was subscribed to more than one monthly subscription box because I am a collector of STUFF.
Today I decided to go through the random pretty art pages that include information about various things (gods, goddesses, herbs, crystals, rituals....). Some of the art is very pretty and I'm looking through it to see if there is anything worth trying to save.
Looking at the art closely I suddenly recognize some of the random scribbles in the background. "THAT'S HEBREW."
Why the fuck is there Hebrew scribbled over most of these little pagan art pieces?
I take it to my roommates and they spot something else. Japanese Katakana in the corner here. Greek over there. Arabic wedged over here, Hindi written up and down for some reason in the middle...
Unluckily for whoever put together this 'Art', we are a multilingual house. One of my roommates stares at the Hindi trying to figure out if it is just random gibberish or if it actually says something.
"Be-la-don-na?"
You guessed it. It's an info card on the Belladonna flower. I look at the Hebrew and with my limited abilities I sound it out.
"Be-Lah-Don-ah"
These stupid fucks just phonetically spelled out the flower in at least four different languages. Which...Is not how you language.
I already had a huge problem with all the cultural appropriation that takes place in a LOT of Pagan/Wiccan practices. But this? This is just next level.
Nope. All this art? Straight in the trash. I was worried I'd be reluctant to let go of something I'd tried to connect to for a LONG time... I feel better about throwing out most of this stuff now.
(I'm keeping the rocks. I like rocks. I never got into the crystal stuff. I just like shiny sparkly rocks).

So in the latest trailer you get to see brief snippets of Erzabeth and we can see that she has red, upturned hair and a dress
You know what instantly sprung to my mind?
Especially considering that Vampire Hunter D was a source of inspiration for both the games and the show?

Reply: ...
Countess Carmilla Elizabeth Bathory (伯夫人カーミライリズバウバウリ), the "bloody countess" (血だらけ血だらけ) is a Noblewoman from the movie Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and is the film's main antagonist. She is a deceased pure blood female Vampire who is a member of the Nobility. As the Sacred Ancestor's lover, she ruled as Vampire Queen.
I. uh.
well.
I think it speaks for itself.
I had no idea. I should watch VHD if I can find it...

💍
I just realized that the person who proposed to me didn't get back to me about my Yorkshire Test.
So it looks like the engagement is off and I'm back on the market.
Hmu.

please i love you i'm begging you bring back suspension of disbelief bring back trusting the audience like. i cannot handle any more dialogue that sounds like a legal document. "hello, i am here to talk to you about the incident from a few minutes ago, because i feel you might be unwell, and i am invested in your personal wellbeing." "thank you, i am unwell because the incident was hurtful to me due to my childhood, which was bad." I CANT!!!!
do you know how many people are mad that authors use "growled" as a word for "said"? it's just poetics! they do not literally mean "growled," it's just a common replacement for "said with force but in a low tone." it's normal! do you hear me!! help me i love you please let me out of here!!!
