Imagine spending so much time of your life writing a story that you’re really proud of, even getting it published, and then seeing that the fandom wants to ship incest and sexualise children.

If that was me I would be so disgusted and disappointed in the world. Obviously the people sending these anonymous things know what Nevermoor is and I’d assume they enjoy it. Why would you do that to the author of an unproblematic book series you love.

ALRIGHTY BOYS im not actually that energetic i just wanted to get your attention. pride is coming up and i want to celebrate!!! my goal is to write something pride-related/queer for every day of pride, so thirty pieces. these will be fairly short, just micro fics and one shots, one for each day. unfortunately, i will not actually be active enough in june pride to do it on each day, so im going to start now and schedule them for pride. what you can do!

send in requests! these can be pairings, a certain sexuality or gender, a random word, anything you think of. i dont have enough creativity to think of thirty original ideas please help me. EVERY SINGLE REQUEST WILL BE FULFILLED. all of them. i will use thirty of them specifically for each day of pride, but every request sent in will be answered either before or after that month.

these dont have to be fics. i have two poems im going to post on two of those days (so i only need 28 requests really). they can be poems you want me to write, a pretty essay about a certain topic, etc. im expecting fic requests to be more popular, but these would be great too!

no angst. i will not be writing angst for pride. no exceptions. pride is going to be happy and soft and fluffy and There Is Nothing You Can Do About It.

smut will be allowed, however, you have to specifically request it. if you say you want two characters sleeping naked in a bed and there are condoms in their bedside drawer, thats... exactly what you're gonna get. theyre gonna sleep. theyre gonna be naked. there will happen to be condoms in a drawer. nothing will happen. HOWEVER if you request exactly that and add '(smut)' then i will write the smut. there may be references to smut/smutty moments in my fics, but im not gonna write out the sex unless you ask specifically.

another edit: friendly reminder that queer fics dont just mean queer in an obvious way. you can have a relationship of one girl and one boy but one or both are bi or pan or some other sexuality, or one or both are trans or enby but they use gendered pronouns, etc., etc. it doesnt have to specifically be two people of the same sex in a relationship. going off of this, it doesnt HAVE to be a relationship! they can be ace or aro or just single and not ready to mingle. it could also be someone in a relationship but the significant other isnt mentioned at all, or someone coming to terms with their orientation, or someone getting ready for pride... the possibilities are endless. dont box yourself in, there arent any limits to this!!!

how to sign up (w/ detail & screenshots)

the Peaky Blinders Fic Exchange signups are well underway & I’m so excited! It’s a fic exchange, so every participant will get about a month to write one gift fic for someone else. And then at the end, they’ll receive one gift (minimum 500 words). Some people have told me they want to sign up but they’re not really sure how. No problem! This post will show you how.

You’ll need an archiveofourown account. If you don’t have one, no problem; you can either get one through the queue or skip the queue with an invitation from me (more info here).

Once you’re logged into your account, this link should take you to a signup page. On this page, you’ll make requests about what kind of fic you’d like to receive, and also offers about what kind of fic you’re willing to write.

First things first, you’ll need some requests. These are the relationships that you’re most interested in receiving fic for. Right now, Alfie/Tommy is the #1 most requested ship, followed by Grace/Tommy as the #2 most requested ship, but we’ve also got a bunch of character/reader requests and some truly galaxy brain rarepairs like Alfie/Tatiana. Anyways, I’ll do an Alfie/Tommy example.

In the Relationship spot, start typing in the name of one of your characters. A bunch of relationship options should pop up (this sometimes takes a second, lmk if it gives you grief). 

Scroll down, find the pairing you want, click on it...

And bam! Done.

Now, you can just do this for all your requests and offers and call it a day. Or you can add a little detail to help the writer that is making your gift figure out what kind of a fic you’d like to receive. You’d type this out in the Description box.

Here's an example of what some helpful details might look like:

Hi, thanks for writing for me! For Jessie/Ada, I’d like something a little spicy. I loved their chemistry in the bar scene. They’re so different, but they can understand each other and communicate with each other so well. Ada gets where Jessie’s coming from because she used to fight for the cause, and Jessie gets where Ada is coming from because they’re both women getting leadership roles in male-dominated circles. And plus they’re both gorgeous and I’m GAY!

Do Not Want: any content involving rape/harrassment/incest, Tommy/Jessie

If I were writing for this person, I’d be happy to get these details because they help me understand what you like about the pairing and what I can focus on. Also, it’ll help me to know what things you absolutely never want to read about, the Do Not Wants as we call em in exchange lingo, which is great. 

Here’s another example.

For Tommy/Reader, I’m not gonna lie, I. Am. Horny. I’m talking office sex, desk sex, sex against a wall. Any gender you want for the reader, I just want it to be messy and wild.

If you’re not into writing smut, what about something dramatic and confrontational near the end of Tommy and the Reader’s relationship? Just let them have a knock-down drag-out fight about something they both hold dear--politics, family--and I’ll grab my popcorn.

Or really anything about Tommy being a dad and how Reader fits into the family dynamic. We rarely get to see Charlie and I feel cheated.

Likes: drama, rough sex, aftercare, family conflict, domesticity

Do not want: gratuitous or graphic violence

Sometimes it’s nice to receive prompts or story ideas, and these prompts are nice because they give the writer places to go. If the writer only got the first prompt and nothing else, and if they didn’t really like writing smut, they might get a little discouraged. But this reader has helpfully given more than one option, which makes it way easier on the writer. 

If you think of a prompt you forgot, no worries. You can edit your signups until signups close, which is in two weeks, March 15.  

If you don’t like writing out all your stuff separately, you can put all your prompts, likes, Do Not Wants, and other random info into one place, a Dear Author letter, and then copy the URL in, like so:

Some common places to store a Dear Author Letter are Tumblr, Google Docs, Livejournal, and Dreamwidth.
