I think by now most of the world knows this news and I would like to clarify one thing by going to find the speech clip and what I saw during the trailers : unfortunately it is the end of Ash's how main character story but that does not mean that it will be totally the end of a character who could return as a lesson support for the new characters and now I explain because think this (rights for the image going to @syb3rstrife and to Bulbagarden for the article ) : this quoted from Toshisuke Hiraoka the Director and General Manager of the anime Pokémon let me think a little and I think , also if this quoted is from some years ago, that already in sometime they've decide to put aside Ash how main character and let the new characters rise and shine but this wouldn't mean that Ash couldn't be a support character and then continue his adventures in this way.

And in fact the title say : "the final chapter in Ash and Pikachu story " not the end of the whole character and that him can't be return anymore and for be more clear here some examples : Inuyasha with the new anime is settled after many years where meanwhile , in the old anime , the chapter of Inuyasha and Kagome story is ended but at the end they return in the new anime ; Yokai Watch with Nathan ; Yu gi Oh with the pass of the deck ; Lady Layton...this are all main character that have end his main chapter story for pass the baton to their successors(except Lady Layton...I can say that is fifty-fifty)but at the end they continue always to appear how support character or deuteragonist.

And in fact we see three shadow figure and one of the shadow seem the same new character that appear in the special and if you notice very well the painting that they stay see is the same of this poster 👇🏻 which makes us guess that this scene is set in a future ( whether it's alternative or not) where most likely the three figures are Ash ; his wife and son so in the end Ash has actually passed the baton to someone very close to him is the question that comes most naturally to me to ask is: but Pikachu? He has always been the mascot of the entire franchise along with some new or old Pokémon as partners.... Will they change the mascot now? A question that is honestly worrying me and not a little but I am also thinking about a possible answer : what if Ash lent Pikachu to his son as a guardian for him during his adventure? It could be possible couldn't it? So Pikachu would still be the mascot of the series but with a new protagonist who could appear after or during the new series set in Paldea moreover, this new character who suddenly appears to Ash and whose shadow figure is really very similar , could very well have come from the future into the past thanks to Celebi as for the fourth movie and that he arrived in the past with the desire to meet his father as a young man. In addition would only make a little change about my post...the daughter could be also the sister of the boy that appear in the special and consecutively be the new main character girl of the incoming anime and then so born also the hypothesis that is more a travel from future to past than a paradox.

And now the hurting points...this poster is from the alternative story of Ash then also this let think a little about...since we know that Pokémon Scarlett and Violet are based on the paradox , what if the new character and the new main character girl from the new incoming anime are a paradox of the future of Ash how father? One could came in a paradox future where Ash is a good teacher and always here for his son and the other paradox future is where Ash has a daughter and unfortunately and unconditionally isn't always here for she. In the anime and movie Pokémon we have learn that almost all is tied together and one example are the movies with Mewtwo (not the remake) but this would meaning that also the alternative story could be tied to the main story and this is a pardox in all the shapes : a hypothesis that shouldn't exist but in someway exist in the past ; present or future: what if Ash complete his journey in the alternative story and has a son? What if Ash complete his journey after become a World Champion after the events of journey? But for tied all together we need to remember one important thing--the appearance of Misty and Brock is not as randomly placed as Gary's question to Ash. But let's go in order: we know that both Brock and Misty had a dream where one wanted to become a Pokemon trainer and the other wanted to become the world's best water Pokémon trainer but both of their plans changed : Brock from a breeder became a doctor and Misty took over the reins of the Pokémon gym now rightly you might ask but what does that have to do with it? It has a lot to do with it because they both had a fixed dream that they wanted to pursue but as they grew up and became stronger they changed plans seeing that they could still pursue their dream by doing something else : Brock becoming a doctor learning how to breed Pokémon and Misty perfecting herself as the best water Pokémon trainer during her " job " as a gym leader and now the question that asked one of the greatest protagonists of the old Pokémon series : " how far do you think you are in becoming Pokémon Master? " that's right ladies and gentlemen...Gary...the very first great rival of Ash the only one who actually knows him better than anyone else asked the question that perhaps none of us had the courage to ask : how far away is Ash actually? It is the answer is ( in my opinion) ....exactly by now he lacks nothing because now Ash has all the basis and foundation to hone his dream by doing something else : he has become world champion and even if he became Super Champion it would not change much the result and still he the strongest at world level unless they make a universal and galactic level of champion what would he miss? Experience? He already bought that one during his travels...friends? He has more friends than I 🥹 ... Pokémon? Maybe that but a lifetime would not be enough to catch them all and furthermore it is practically impossible to catch some legendaries in the series and every time Ash has a semi-legendary or a legendary in his team he either puts it in the box at the end of the series or frees it (even if never caught it in a pokeball). In the end Ash perhaps would really only miss catching all the Pokémon to become Pokémon Masters but it is something he can also very well do if he becomes the gym leader or the Pokémon League World Champion of his region or of another region of course , Ash is based on Red and we know that Red is always traveling but Red actually retired because he has become the strongest ever as a trainer and more than challenging others he doesn't do and this could make Ash... change perspective of his dream becoming a Pokémon Master helping others grow and that somehow his dream will always live on through his successors and people he will help that's why I think it's Misty; Brock and Gary can help and advise him in this type of choice and this does not mean that he will stop traveling but he could do it now for an extra reason by slightly modifying his dream.

In conclusion, I don't think that is totally the end for Ash and Pikachu but only a new chapter where them couldn't be the main character but a support character or deuteragonist for sure I'll miss to see this duo in the anime and I hope that they return at least how partner of the new main characters.

at some point it's just like. do they even fucking like the thing they're asking AI to make? "oh we'll just use AI for all the scripts" "we'll just use AI for art" "no worries AI can write this book" "oh, AI could easily design this"

like... it's so clear they've never stood in the middle of an art museum and felt like crying, looking at a piece that somehow cuts into your marrow even though the artist and you are separated by space and time. they've never looked at a poem - once, twice, three times - just because the words feel like a fired gun, something too-close, clanging behind your eyes. they've never gotten to the end of the movie and had to arrive, blinking, back into their body, laughing a little because they were holding their breath without realizing.

... how do i explain to you - you can make AI that does a perfect job of imitating me. you could disseminate it through the entire world and make so much money, using my works and my ideas and my everything.

i don't know there's a word for it. in high school, we become aware that the way we feel about our artform is a cliche - it's like breathing. over and over, artists all feel the same thing. "i write because i need to" and "my music is how i speak" and "i make art because it's either that or i stop existing." it is such a common experience, the violence and immediacy we mean behind it is like breathing to me - comes out like a useless understatement. it's a cliche because we all feel it, not because the experience isn't actually persistent. so many of us have this ... fluttering urgency behind our ribs.

i'm not doing it for the money. for a star on the ground in some city i've never visited. i am doing it because when i was seven i started taking notebooks with me on walks. i am doing it because in second grade i wrote a poem and stood up in front of my whole class to read it out while i shook with nerves. i am doing it because i spent high school scribbling all my feelings down. i am doing it for the 16 year old me and the 18 year old me and the today-me, how we can never put the pen down. you can take me down to a subatomic layer, eviscerate me - and never find the source of it; it is of me. when i was 19 i named this blog inkskinned because i was dramatic and lonely and it felt like the only thing that was actually permanently-true about me was that this is what is inside of me, that the words come up over everything, coat everything, bloom their little twilight arias into every nook and corner and alley

"we're gonna replace you". that is okay. you think that i am writing to fill a space. that someone said JOB OPENING: Writer Needed, and i wrote to answer. you think one raindrop replaces another, and i think they're both just falling. you think art has a place, that is simply arrives on walls when it is needed, that is only ever on demand, perfect, easily requested. you see "audience spending" and "marketability" and "multi-line merch opportunity"

and i see a kid drowning. i am writing to make her a boat. i am writing because what used to be a river raft has long become a fully-rigged ship. i am writing because you can fucking rip this out of my cold dead clammy hands and i will still come back as a ghost and i will still be penning poems about it.

it isn't even love. the word we use the most i think is "passion". devotion, obsession, necessity. my favorite little fact about the magic of artists - "abracadabra" means i create as i speak. we make because it sluices out of us. because we look down and our hands are somehow already busy. because it was the first thing we knew and it is our backbone and heartbreak and everything. because we have given up well-paying jobs and a "real life" and the approval of our parents. we create because - the cliche again. it's like breathing. we create because we must.

God this panel took me right the fuck out. On the one hand, what else can they do? Marcille's the only member of the party skilled enough in magic to do resurrection spells. Laois straight up tells her he's giving her the neck armour because she's the healer, the one they can't afford to lose; she can rez the rest but if she dies, they're all doomed. And it's a uniquely cruel position for Marcille to be in because of her deep, aching fear of outliving everyone she loves, a fear that Laios has to be aware of on some level, even if he doesn't clearly remember the nightmare he rescued Marcille from... but even if he was fully aware of it, that doesn't change the fact that she's the only one of them who can rez. It's inescapable that she has to be in this position, just as, in the end, it's inescapable that she will outlive everyone in this panel even if they live to ripe old ages. Marcille being forced to microdose her inevitable looming grief is a great setup for her making the decision she does when they meet the Winged Lion--how can she go through this again, for real?
