So can we start calling this the progress trans flag and using this, or is that too radical a concept for people in 2023?
Tumblr media
[ID: A version of the progress trans flag with eight horizontal stripes of: purple, black, blue, pink, white, yellow, black, and brown. In the center are concentric circles of black, dark purple, and gold. End ID.]
Explicitly include nonbinary and intersex people in the trans pride flag. Not just “including nonbinary people” as a single single white stripe for people with “neutral” genders that 99% of people don’t even know is for nonbinary people, and instead think is there to represent transitioning.
If you want support nonbinary people, one small step is to explicitly include us in the trans pride flag, and not just by lumping all of us together into a single “neutral” category that seems like its only there to separate the pink and blue stripes.
I’m tired of binary people, both cis and trans, promoting exorsexism and erasing and speaking over nonbinary people. If the pride flag can change to explicitly include and support trans people and people of color, then the trans flag can change too.
Being trans is not just for binary men and women. It’s not just for perisex people or white people. It’s 2023. How about we put the most erased parts of our community front and center in the trans community, and how about the rest of the trans community be proud to fight with us?
There are three main versions of this flag, with the most simplified version up top.
Symmetrical version:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Three versions of the trans progress pride flag, both with symetrical horizontal stripes of purple, black, blue, pink, yellow, white, yellow, pink, blue, black, and purple. The first version includes a brown sideways chevron, followed by a gold triangle of the intersex flag, with the dark purple circle in the center. The second version has a brown diamond in the center, with concentric circles of black, dark purple, and gold inside it. The third version has only the stripes. End ID.]
The white and yellow stripe on this six-striped version are reversed so that the white stripe, like the black, is easy to see against all background colors.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Two versions of the six-striped version of the trans progress pride flag, with stripes of purple, black, blue, pink, white, and yellow. The first version includes a brown sideways chevron, followed by a gold triangle of the intersex flag, with the purple circle in the center. The second version has a brown diamond in the center, with concentric circles of black, dark purple, and gold inside it. The third version has only the stripes. End ID.]
Here is the web archive link where you can download the HD versions of these flags, including the symbols:
Do not add images to this post unless they include a plain text image description in the body of the post directly below the image.
ALT text is not accessible for everyone who needs an image description. Plain text image descriptions are the most accessible option. That’s why I used an image description and not ALT text.
Please also do not suggest replacements or variations of this flag that leave out the black, white, purple, or yellow. They were all chosen for a reason. You can add other colors if you want, but removing the purple, yellow, black, or white is just as egregious as removing the blue or pink would be.
The black, white, yellow, and purple all represent forms of identity outside the binary. Combining the black and white into grey erases so many people and completely misunderstands the purpose of those stripes.
These are the baseline colors for the flag, you can customize them via less saturation, darkness, ect, when making art or using it for your own purposes. You do not need to color pick directly from this flag any time you use it.
Edit 12/10/23: go read this post too.

it's so funny, and by funny I mean so blatantly bigoted, how when nonbinary people got upset about being shoved into the new binary boxes of "transmasculine" and "transfeminine" based solely on what we were assigned at birth, all the binary people rushed to insist that it wasn't actually about what we were assigned at birth, it was just how we *chose* to present ourselves.
Not wanting boobs makes you transmasculine. Wanting boobs makes you transfeminine. It was as simple as that, they said. And then they aggressively erased, and still continue to erase, anyone who refuses to be put into these new binary boxes.
But now that they've realized that people have been using these terms with the "it signals how you want to present" meaning, now suddenly they're pissed off that the terms aren't just a synonym for what you were assigned at birth anymore. Even when it's intersex people who explain themselves over and over again. Perisex people will just literally say that these intersex people have no idea what they're talking about and then harass intersex people who try to explain it.
Like it's just proving these people were all lying from the start. They did in fact mean that all AFAB trans people are transmasculine because transmasculine is just a synonym for AFAB, and vice versa. They were just insisting it ~totally wasn't~ to placate all the nonbinary people who got pissed off at being forced into a new binary.
But now suddenly they think AMAB transmasculine people and AFAB transfeminine people are suddenly using these terms wrong because the people who've been forcing everyone to pick one for years don't like that they're not synonymous with what you were assigned at birth anymore, and are actually being used to signal how you want to present.
They really just do not care how many people they have to misgender and erase as long as they get to sort everyone into neat binary boxes with no crossover or alternatives.
They literally decided you have to identify yourself as either transmasculine or transfeminine or else you don't exist at all and will be erased every step of the way until you pick one. And now they're mad that people are joyfully identifying with these terms as a matter of gender presentation and transition goals instead of being pressured into it to erase themselves.
Next time you all invent a brand new gender binary to force on people, at least do us all the favor of not blatantly lying about what it means only to get mad when you find out people have been using the terms in the way you thought wasn't actually true.
Either admit that you use transfeminine and transmasculine as synonyms for what someone was assigned at birth and that you don't care how many people you have to misgender to do so, including binary perisex trans butches and femmes and just literally any nonbinary person who doesn't identify as or with masculinity or femininity in any way, or deal with the fact that people are using these terms to describe their transition goals, path, and gender presentation in a genuine way that, unlike when you force the binary onto people, hurts no one except your bigoted, binarist feelings.
You literally don't get to tell intersex people that they have no idea what they're talking about when they tell you their experiences. You literally don't get to keep erasing and speaking over nonbinary and genderqueer and multigender people.

As of writing this I just got my hair cut and colored the day prior. I got into my car after leaving the salon and giggled and cried over it. I wish I’d known AGES ago that having long colorful hair with the sides and back shaved down was a way to fight my dysphoria. That’s how it goes though right? If you’re on the trans/enby side of things you just kinda keep finding new things that affirm you. It’s National Coming Out Day so I guess happy day to me for always finding new things to come out to myself about and to forever coming out to new friends and partners. I hope one day everyone can be out without fear of hate and bigotry.

Well.
I'm gonna be honest and say that I don't use tumblr much outside of following specific artists, but it is highly disappointing to see such gross behavior by the tumblr staff who flagrantly throw out suspensions to anyone who speaks out against their ignorance and tolerance for hate.

Meet The Author('s Gender Identities)
Tumblr media
I used dear sweet Princess Pink for this, heehoo!
So this Pride Month I figured it wouldn't hurt to talk about my identities. I'll admit I've been very nervous to do this, not a lot of people know about Xenogenders and will look on them as "fake identities", but I figured if I try to offer descriptions like I did for the LMK crew's pride headcanons I can at least clear things up for those not in the know! :3 TRANS NON-BINARY (bottom right): This one's for people who are transgender and non-binary! Me personally I use it for the fact that my non-binary identity is heavily tied into my being transgender, so much so that I'm more trans-nonbinary than transmasc or transfem. MULTIGENDER (bottom left): Identity for people who identify as multiple genders at once! I only have two for now, but who knows? I might discover more down the line! Now on to the Xenogenders, but first an explanation on just what Xenogenders are. If the article confused you, I'll do my best to explain: Gender is a spectrum, and a very wide one. Sometimes the identities we have can't be described with the identities we have, and so Xenogenders here help find what best describes our gender experiences! They can be aesthetics and concepts combined with something that feels right on the gender level. Largely these are used by Neurodivergent people (ADHD here, woop!!) who have a harder time expressing their gender experiences. PRINCESSGENDER (top right): An aesthetigender that deals with the aesthetic of being a princess. I was raised surrounded by pink princess-y things, so the princessgender identity is really dear to me. The aesthetic this would be tied to is princesscore. That, I think, is the best way to describe aesthetigenders: something that speaks to you so much if feels right on a gender identity level, it best expresses your gender experience. SYLVGENDER (top left): Luckily for me I found the post where this came from! As the post says, this gender is tied to the Pokemon Sylveon, but more expressly the gender-deep feelings of nature, kindness and friendship, feminine expression, purity and wholesomeness, gender non-conformity, cuteness and love, and magic! All of those tied together in to one dear, wonderful gender identity :3 This might not answer your questions, but I did find this really accepting and informative subreddit that helped me not only begin learning everything but also was kind enough to review the Xenogenders I wanted to identify as to make sure they weren't made by a troll or someone equally disingenuous. I only ask that you guys respect my identities and my pronouns. This is the link to my pronouns page, and I will be asking everyone that you call me by my preferred pronouns, no matter your thoughts you should not ever misgender someone. Thank you all so much for being so supportive and wonderful!!!! (I was honestly really nervous about coming out to you guys shgjdkfhg)

Hello Beloved...Who Am I?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi, I am Luar Wolf, and I use Lulu. 32 years old. Sun in Aries, Rising Leo, Moon in Capricorn. I home many identities in my lived experiences carrying each with honor and grace. I am Puertorriqueñx and Dominicanx with ancestral roots and lineages of Afro-Descendiente, Indigenous Taino, and Basque-Iberian. I am non-binary, trans, queer, and intersex. I was born, raised, and lived on Occupied Munsee Lenape Land (New York City). I currently live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
For more than a decade, my ancestral and cultural roots in Afro-Caribbean traditions have evolved into practicing Espiritismo, Palo Brillumba (Vriyumba), and Ocha. As a seasoned Espiritista, I function as a medium, facilitating and channeling the transmission of messages from spirit guides and ancestral beings. My expertise encompasses guiding Mesa Blanca (White Table) ceremonies, adeptly interpreting the guiding central figures of one's Cuadro Espiritual (Spiritual Court), and assisting in healing one's ancestral lineages and generational curses.
Within the complex framework of Palo Brillumba (or Vriyumba), I hold the initiatory titles of Tata Nkisi and now Tata Nganga, defined and translated as the 'Father of the Spirits' and 'Father of the Nganga'. This tradition, deeply rooted in the Afro-Cuban Bantu/Kongo traditions, weaves together elements of sorcery, necromancy, and a profound connection with natural forces, utilizing the sacred bones of the dead and tools of the natural world.
My exploration extends into Ocha (also known as Lukumi and Santeria), where I am known as an Aborisha, walking towards the revered Kariocha initiation. My Alagbatori is Oya Yansa, the Orisa marked on my head (Ori), who is the Orisha of Storms, Gatekeeper of the Cemeteries, and Queen of the Dead. I have received through ceremonies by my Elders the following: Elekes, the Warrior Orishas, Olokun, Ibejis, & Inle.
Originating from a foundation in Witchcraft, I am an eclectic practitioner of Traditional Witchcraft and hold an intimate relationship with Hekate, Queen of Witches. I work exclusively with Her epithet of Hekate Lyko, Lukaine, & Lukodamna. In these epithets, She is the Wolf-Formed, Wolf-Tamer, & She-Wolf.
Finally, I am a Reiki Practitioner. My skills have been refined through decolonial training with the NYC POC Healing Circle. I have shifted my reiki practices to be respectful of their cultural origins to one more aligned with my cultural practices of 'Laying of the Hands', a similar energetic healing practice.
In my community work, I am dedicated to crafting sacred spaces grounded in a decolonial and healing justice framework. My focus is on nurturing the transformative journey, embracing the metamorphosis into the rooted sacredness of our true selves. Drawing upon the intricate webs of ancestral lineages, I actively dismantle generational trauma and break curses through the practice of ancestral veneration and spirit work.
I extend an invitation to you to engage with my approach by bringing your full authenticity, sharing your personal truths, and embracing your lived experiences. Together, let us embark on the profound work of honoring ourselves, ancestors-in-the-making. As the living dreams and legacy of those who paved the way before us, we straddle two worlds—one foot planted firmly in this reality and the other in the realm where we connect with ancestral dead and our guiding spirits, present in our first and last breaths.
Sincerely,
La Loba Luna Luz,

This is a poll, only for people identify as trans and/or nonbinary.
Question: Trans and Nonbinary people only: Do you think that transmisia or exorsexism, including misgendering, from other trans or nonbinary people is less hurtful than when cis people do it?
Options:
1: Yes it's less bad, because they're trans/nonbinary.
2: Yes it's less bad, TANBP are incapable of being bigots.
3: No, it's just as bad as when cis people do it.
4: No, it's worse than when cis people do it, because TANBP should know better
5: It's the same whether the bigot is cis, or trans or nonbinary
Edit, to clarify for those confused: Transmisia is a synonym for transphobia, but with the suffix -misia, meaning hatred, rather than -phobia, meaning fear, because people with actual phobias aren't bigots, and now people demonize and attack them because they think of phobias as only a form of bigotry, not an anxiety disorder.
Exorsexism is bigotry against people whose genders are not 100% male or female. Exorsexism targets and affects nonbinary people, genderqueer people, and other specific non-white western binary genders.
If you click a wrong button by mistake, let me know in tags / replies / ask and I'll tally your vote with the correct option at the end.

Disabled trans people: I would love to bind but I physically literally can't because I'm disabled. I would love to get top surgery but I can't because I'm poor and don't have health insurance because I'm unemployed because I'm disabled. It really fucking sucks that I can't do these things because I'm disabled. People need to understand that disabled trans people exist and that binding isn't an option for many of us.
Abled trans people every single time despite not being asked: Okay cool buy did you know you don't have to bind at all? You should accept the fact that you have boobs! It's great and sexy and fun to have boobs and you shouldn't want to bind because that's letting society tell you what to do! Get some better self esteem!! Binding isn't everything! You should just embrace how hot and sexy your boobs are as a power move. There are lots of trans people who don't bind, and they aren't disabled! Being disabled has nothing to do with whether you bind or not. Choosing not to bind because you enjoy having boobs is the exact same thing as being physically incapable of binding despite how much you hate having boobs! I know because I think having boobs is sexy and hot and clearly every trans person wants people to think their boobs are hot!!!! I don't think disability has anything to do with whether you bind or not.
Disabled trans people who do not want to have boobs and are openly aroace and do not want anyone to find them attractive in any way:

Becoming More Visible in Troubling Times
Today (Monday, March 31, 2025) is International Transgender Day of Visibility. Although it has been an annual event since 2009 observed by the Trans community and supporters, this is the first time I have written about it. At Pride 2024 I’ve “come out” several times in my gender and sexuality journey, but when you’re constantly learning about oneself and other people, that can happen. I’m also…
