:'( I have been in a welcome home art block. So I doodled some good ol nostalgia for myself and now I share it here!

So I'm thinking about a Twisted Wonderland x Winx Club AU (blame my mutual Lea lmao) I'm thinking about Jamikali like always, obviously.

My idea as far is that Kalim and Jamil both start at Alfea, but then after the equivalent to their Book 4 fight, Jamil ends up transferring to Cloud Tower as part of their "let's be equals! let's be rivals!" agreement. I imagine Cloud Tower is where Jamil initially wanted to go, but the Asims (and by extention the Vipers) wanted him to attend Red Fountain to train in the art of (dying for Kalim) combat and learning how to protect Kalim better. But Kalim didn't like the idea of going to school without Jamil and being separated, so he convinced his parents to let Jamil attend Alfea with him. Meanwhile, Jamil wants to attend Cloud Tower instead and has no interest in the other two schools, but was strongarmed into attending Alfea. (another thing Kalim ruined for him) So Kalim pulls some strings and makes it so he can attend the school he actually wants!

I imagine Kalim is an absolute wreck for awhile after Jamil transfers, because he's never had to take care of himself like this. He can't cook, do laundry, clean, study, anything! Not even dress himself! God bless his roomies, they're gonna have to save him constantly. It's basically culture shock for him. Jamil is also really paranoid about Kalim, he gets stressed out attending another school too and calls a bunch to check in, probably visits a lot to make sure he's not dead.

Kalim always tells him white lies about how well he's doing/how he's handling things because he doesn't want to be any more of a burden/inconvenience than he already is/has been and that Jamil told him he was to his face. So while Kalim can/will ask for help from his other friends, he tries really hard not to ask Jamil for anything because the whole point of going to different schools is letting Jamil be free of him like he (said he) wants.

That's all for now, I'm always insane about Jamikali so obviously I established their lore first lmao, enjoy everybody!

I want more people to watch this show. I mean look at the art for the ED. Basically a contrast of “heavenly bodies” versus “tormented souls” in the version of maybe Buddhist maybe catholic iconography in their human forms and clear hints of shibari in their fairy forms. I wish Andgy Raum (the artist behind the ED art) didn’t delete their twitter, they had lots of gorgeous art posted and some strange pieces and song choices with cryptic captions.

I can't get this sound out of my head, so I decided to translate it, and just like the anime, it gets cynical. You can stream it in Youtube as well as Spotify. Note that I'm not fluent in Japanese, but I did do my best.

The title translates to Fairy's Lament, sort of, more on that in the notes.

**Aizuchi are Japanese interjections, they indicate that the listener is paying attention and understanding the conversation, is considered rude not to make any sounds when you're being spoken to.

*Rather than using the kanjis for fairy (妖精), the title and lyrics write yousei with the kanjis 夭 (early death, calamity) and 聖 (saint, holy), while they are indeed pronounced you and sei respectively, 夭聖 is not a word (and sei is used as a prefix), given that these guys are indeed fairies, is probably trying to give another connotation to the word and I choose to translate it as that, rather than make up some akward term.

Aditionally, the meanings I get for the kanjis for fairy are 妖 (attractive, bewitching, calamity) and 精 (refined, ghost, fairy, energy, vitality, semen, excellence, purity, skill).
