Amaranthine Magic System PART I: Remedial Magic For Beginners
This is Part III of a three-part worldbuilding set.
Part I (you are here) - Part II - Part III
Okay so… weird starting point, but do you remember these jerks from middle school math class? Function graphs! (I hated these things so much) The simplest possible function is a basic straight line, but by modifying the function, the graphed line can distort and take on all sorts of new shapes.
Tumblr media
Magic is a lot like that.
The best way to describe spellcasting would be “filtering waves of energy”. Imagine a sine wave, oscillating up and down in a simple, predictable pattern. That is magical energy in its default state. It exists as background radiation throughout the whole world and permeates all living things… though some things conduct magic better or worse than others. (Magic has a lot in common with the electromagnetic spectrum in the real world)
Tumblr media
What wizards do when they cast magic is that they amplify and tweak this ambient background energy in just the right way to contort it into a new form (lightning, a shockwave, fire, etc). The core nature of the energy doesn’t really change, but by exaggerating, filtering, and suppressing that oscillating wave in just the right amounts, in just the right places, in just the right order, it can be transformed into something very different than its base form. You could also think of it a bit like a musician playing a wind instrument, modulating the tone by covering and uncovering holes, or a puppetmaster pulling strings of a marionette—you need to deeply understand the physics at play and give each string just the right amount of slack and pull to make it do what you want.
The most common type of magical energy is magic in a neutral, passive state, just sort of existing passively as background radiation. Like the electromagnetic spectrum and gravity, it is deeply intertwined with how life evolved in this world, but also is so innate as to be largely unnoticeable. It is energy without a physical form. However, it can be harnessed and stored, given the right conduit. Under these circumstances it behaves similar to electricity.
Tumblr media
Certain types of physical material are better at holding and manipulating magic than others. Substances that hold or amplify magic work because something about their physical molecular structure bends and filters the magic “waves” in a way that “traps” that energy inside of them, or amplifies the frequency of the waves. Nearly all crystalline structures and precious gems have some sort of magic-amplifying capability, with the best ones being highly prized and fetching crazy prices for large, pure specimens. Skilled Old Kingdom wizards could engineer such gemstones into Catalyst Stones, a special type of battery/amplifier that wizards could use to cast spells beyond their normal limits. Gemstones and crystals have been traditionally associated with wizards for this reason. However, they are far from the only material with a magical affinity—just one of the most easily recognizable.
…Additionally, other materials might have the opposite effect. Iron is well-known for its wizard-subduing properties. Simply being in a room with a large piece of iron makes a wizard feel ill and weakens their powers. Iron manacles and chains are commonly used to imprison criminal wizards. Not only do they aggressively drain magic from the air, matter, and flesh around them, they prevent the hand gestures that might allow a weakened mage to do any magical manipulation at all.
Tumblr media
Magical energy is distributed throughout the world unevenly. Occasionally, the concentration of magic in an area is so high that the environment itself becomes effectively enchanted. A certain range of mountains might be rich in magical ores that have a subtle effect on how water in the region behaves, causing strangely shaped caves and ridges to form in the region. A woodland might be home to a large number of mushrooms that have adapted to make use of magic as a defense mechanism, causing the glen to disorient travelers who walk through it. Magic is infamous for distorting compass readings, too, forcing travelers to carry protective charms to keep their tools usable.
There are all sorts of weird subtle little things like that that can be caused by high concentrations of magic, and magically concentrated areas often have very unique biodiversity that evolved to make use of that specific environment. Discovering, exploring, studying, and documenting these regions is of great interest to many magical scholars (as well as the state interests sometimes backing them, of course).
Tumblr media
Magic can do a lot of weird stuff in Amaranthine, but it isn’t as open-ended as most other types of fantasy magic. Things like turning oneself into a dragon are no more possible than they are in real life (unfortunately for some who may wish otherwise). You can get pretty creative with it, and there are surely techniques yet undiscovered that even Hyden doesn’t know about, but no matter how fancy your spellcasting gets, it’ll always just be “manipulating waves of energy”.

Nature of the Arcane- Positive and Negative Energy
(For reference, Arcane = the series; arcane = the magic) Come help me figure out how the heck the magic system of Arcane works.
What is the anomaly? Why was it born? Why is it that other mages in the series don't seem to cause anomalies, but Hextech does?
I refuse to be content with a magic=good or magic=bad explanation, and Arcane loves to play with nuance. I was trying to sort out my thoughts on why some magic has bad side effects while others don't, and this is where I'm sitting now. My (spit-balled, half-baked, and probably leaking) thesis:
The arcane/using magic has 2 separate outputs: the order you placed (Hextech) and the resulting exhaust (wild runes; the anomaly). Hextech can use runes to control magic, but there's a second output of natural, wild magical energy, that Hextech doesn't account for. Both of these energies can build up, and when they're reunited, they have explosive reactions (see: Mage Viktor's world, the final blip that takes Jayce and Viktor, and possibly various smaller explosions throughout the series).
For example, when positive and negative charges meet, lightning strikes.
Justification below the cut.
Science break! Ever been shocked by static electricity? That's because of a buildup of one charge, say positive, on you, and a buildup of negative charge on another object. Nature loves balance, so when you two touch, the charges discharge in a shock that connects the positive and negative charges and allows them to balance out. Size this idea up big enough, and you get lightning- powerful, fast, and destructive.
More importantly though, you can't just charge positive energy, without also charging negative energy at the same time-  creating one by necessity creates the other, so that there's an overall balance of electricity types (hey look, a metaphor, creating one inevitably leads to the other…).
Let's carry this idea over to the arcane. What if there's a 'positive' magic and a 'negative' magic output?
(Note, I use the electricity words here intentionally- positive/negative do not mean in a cosmic/moral/ethical way, but in a scientific, 'hey we need 2 connected words to separate these concepts' sort of way.)
Positive: Hextech; runes; the intended output. Teleportation, levitation, everything we see it accomplish.
Negative: the wild rune, the anomaly; the unintended output.
And, when the two come together, lightning strikes.
Tumblr media
Lightning 1- Viktor vs Ekko's Z-drive. Viktor spends S2 becoming a centralized conduit of 'positive' magic, via the Hexcore and top ups from the crystals under the Hexgates. As the Machine Herald, the claw is continually using runes and doing magic behind him. In short, he's been building up a lot of positive magical energy. When Ekko chucks the Z-drive at him, it's powered by an anomaly, or 'negative' magical energy. Put the two forces together, and let the fireworks happen; a part of the Machine Herald's mask gets struck off in the blast. (But the Z-drive has less negative energy than Viktor's positive, so it doesn't totally wipe him out.)
Lightning 2- Viktor and Jayce's rainbow time. Jayce's acceleration rune might be the negative magical energy in this case (since it travels with him via Mage Viktor's anomaly), paired with the anomaly that Viktor grabbed beneath the Hexgate. That works in opposition to Viktor's compiled positive magical energy via the Hexcore and similar products. With these together, the balance between positive and negative is reached, achieving net neutral magic dispersion, and of course, an implosion that sucks in (or teleports, we can be happy) Jayce and Viktor, ending the conflict.
Perhaps in Mage Viktor's timeline, a similar explosion occurs, resulting in the destruction that we see Jayce traverse in the alternate timeline. But in the main timeline, Jayce and Viktor were able to contain that explosive potential to just themselves, via Jayce's acceleration rune.
"Pass me a tome" Jayce's (quoting Viktor) explanation of the anomaly/wild rune (S2:E3)
Jayce says that Viktor theorized that wild runes are "patterns that would occur naturally where the border between our world and the Arcane is thin." By the theory, wild runes are expressions of magic not quantifiable by traditional runes- natural outputs of magic that are uncontrollable and untamable.
This still works with my positive vs negative theory- it's just that Hextech, and by extension the boys, are only viewing it from the perspective of positive energy (they accessed magic, but really only half of it). From that view, negative charge, which they can't interpret why it's building up or that it even is, might look pretty wild and untamable- however, we see mages control this negative magical energy. Mage Viktor uses the anomaly to send Jayce back to his timeline. The Machine Herald is able to transport it and start to destroy/convert the world.
Because it's still a useable product, so long as you understand what it actually is, I'm not fully content to say that the anomaly is an entirely wild thing, or an unpredictable force. It's possible that Mage Viktor intentionally manipulated it to send Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger to their temporary alternate universes to set in motion events to save the main timeline. I think the anomaly definitely has somewhat volatile characteristics, a bit more chaotic perhaps, but it's still controllable.
(Additionally, Ekko breaks time using both hex shards (assuming they're still in the Z-drive, I'm not sure off the top of my head), and a tiny anomaly. The fact that he's able to control it to a degree also shows that the anomaly is not fully wild and untamable.)
I suppose my overarching feeling is that the anomaly is not necessarily better or worse, or more dangerous, than the 'positive' magic of Hextech- it's just a different, inevitable byproduct of magic use.
Then why don't mages cause anomalies and 'lightning strikes'?
Tumblr media
Simple- they know how to account for both positive and negative energy in their spellwork. They know how to equate a balance, so nothing blows up in their faces.
Granted, the only mages we really see in Arcane are Mel, the Black Rose, and Mage Viktor, and the only real discussions we get about magic is from either the Hextech nerds or Heimerdinger, who may not be working with the full picture of how the arcane works. Our sources with regards to actual mage work in Arcane are pretty thin (and I probably need to rewatch Mel's S2 scenes).
But the Black Rose mentions as Mel leaves that (paraphrased) 'it's a dangerous world out there for a solitary mage.' This seems to imply that mages work best in collaboration- perhaps that allows for a balance between positive and negative energies, preventing 'lightning strikes.'
The real point- The Need for Collaboration
While the obvious theme to be drawn from this is the need for balance, another interesting one is the need for collaboration. If mages in Arcane indeed do work together to prevent destructive magical fallout, this again points back to a core element of Arcane's relationships:
Things (magic in particular) work best in collaboration.
That's how the boys crack Hextech
That's how Jinx and Vi start to bring Vander back and reconcile
That's how Viktor and Sky work in the commune
That's how Ekko, Powder, and Heimerdinger crack Hextech again
That's how Caitlyn and Ambessa start to work, and how the lack of honest collaboration exposes Ambessa's selfish gains and weakens Caitlyn emotionally and politically
That's how Mel literally does everything politically (and why her arc narratively suffers when she's on her own against the Black Rose for so long [I still love her tho])
That's how Piltover and Zaun fend off Ambessa's assault
That's how Viktor and Jayce end it- together.
Tumblr media
More assorted thoughts on this topic:
This theory somewhat requires that the arcane is not conscious, not retaliating for Hextech using magic improperly, which is debatable. The Black Rose says "the arcane is waking up," which could imply a sentient force, or simply a natural force like how the world 'wakes up' to spring after winter. Ekko also claims that Jayce 'pissed off' the arcane, which Jayce is cutely embarrassed about, which is a possibility, but not one that I'm getting into here- it's entirely possible that Ekko is also wrong! Jayce and Viktor frequently are! (also, the hexcore being sentient does not necessarily mean that the arcane is sentient- Viktor describes it as a learning matrix, so it could very much be a Flubber situation. He done taught the rubix cube science before ethics.)
As Viktor brings Jayce up to the top of the Hexgate, Viktor winds the anomaly in his staff and talks about the balance between order and chaos- maybe positive magic is one and negative the other?
@avelera and @linddzz were throwing around some awesome thoughts similar to this strain, including how it looks like Mage Viktor 'cleans up' the smoke output of the spell in the snowstorm. Their theory is that what I call positive and negative energy is actually constructive vs destructive force in equal output from the Arcane, and that balance between those two types is needed (i.e. if you want magic to do what you want, you also need to let it blow up some stuff) which would also explain what I've called lightning here. Definitely worth a read!
There are so many holes in this theory, but I still wanted to organize my thoughts about the anomaly, Hextech, and how Arcane tells the audience to view magic. In S1, Hextech is all good and great, possibly dangerous, but in S2, Hextech and its byproducts are all infectious, destructive, and never productive. I found the switch a little jarring, and went searching for a deeper meaning.
Also… does this mean that Arcane is actually a big metaphor for the dangers and impacts of technological advancement on natural society and how Mother Nature will come back to bite us all in the butt? Has Arcane been a secret Ghibli film all along???

I’m curious… why/how would past humans add RUU into their machinery the first place… what was its use? How did humans even find RUU?
(Or is that secret lore / you don’t know yet)
RRGH I HAVE MANY QUESTIONS/THEORIES ABOUT RUU IT FASCINATES ME SO MUCH!
It was discovered by accident after the first natural breach destroyed an American satellite.
space travel was just kicking off for humans, they still only had good ol' combustion engines but were in a climate/resource crisis (aka running out of things to combust with XD) Unfortunately, after a string of climate-related issues caused the meltdown of several nuclear reactors around the globe, testing and research on making viable nuclear engines for spacecraft slowed to a crawl.
The satellite incident garnered a lot of media attention because space/space expiditions were very topical (yknow, with the planet falling apart and stuff) and a lot of people thought it might have been aliens. Once scientists at [name pending, research company for government] figured out the material from that sattelite was contaminated with Something we've never seen before, it was a scramble to figure out what was going on. Another accident when exploring the area led to the discovery that once a machine had been 'irradiated', RUU could be channeled into the wires etc to do the same thing electricity could (they encountered type 1 here, luckily for them, since no other type can do this as easily as what happened here) . Further testing with machines irradiated by the other machines and the original sattelite bits led to the creation of specialized computers. These could "widen" a breach, make sure only type 1 frequency came out, and contain it in a fixed and concentrated location by giving commands to the RUU with electricity. This allowed these "engines" to be put into other craft, where the RUU shed by the stabalized breach could be fed via wires to power other parts.
Its whole gimmick is that once we "tapped in" to the [wherever it comes from] using a breach, RUU gave out an endless energy output that needed no fuel and produced zero waste!!
The only limit was how long the parts could deal with the heat (same as with conduits in the present day lol. Speaking of that, it should be noted that no one was actually touching this stuff with a 10ft pole, and it was absolutely locked the fuck down in layers of protection. So even though there was a lot of it around, no one was ever exposed enough to become a conduit. That only happened after the crash when it got let loose )
As far as they could tell, there was also no emission/side effects when it was properly contained in the machines, which made it *totally* safer....
This was extremely inticing in the current climate, and in order to out-compete some other countries, America started using it to power the liftoff and operation of spacecraft (more as a publicity thing ahaisnt other countries, and honestly they were just bullshitting and hoping to distract/dazzle the public with "other dimensional!!!! Power!!!!!! " but then it linda started actually working. Though this decision to use RUU was only made under the intense push from the research company tasked with making the tech in the first place. They advertised they were making a way to escape into space, which meant the gov was funneling money to them like crazy)
The effort was a success, and by selling it off to allies, a few countries started colonizing the moon (start of the lunar age)
There was an explosion of activity around the subject, and soon snowballed into other countries stealing it and also going to space. Humans did the usual and just started running with it (minimal testing, long term side effects who cares, etc etc) Soon, the soon the entire solar system was somewhat inhabited, space-built strcutures everywhere, etc. Cold fusion/nuclear power was like. A secondary concern/only used when you couldn't get your hands on RUU breach tech.
Naturally, though, they wanted to go further. People wanted a 2nd earth, not a tiny dome on Mars.
Everything kind of fell apart when they started trying to use it to make a wormhole (spoiler alert, if you want to open a giant door between your world and an entirely unknown plane to power a machine theoretically capable of punching holes in our spacetime, you should probably be very sure there's nothing that could be watching from the other side. It didnt go the way they thought it would.)
Sorry that was a bit long but I better write it out somehwere for my own future reference XD )

More info about Greed/M reader.
SOME SUGGESTIVE THEMES!
Greed masterlist: 💵💲
Tumblr media
SPOILER OF THE GREED STORY BELOW, SKIP IF WANTED
This might actually be longer than some of the episodes, I am making this because there... Might be a teeeeennnyy tiiiiny spar with maybe regarding greed's relatives..
SPOILER ENDED
I will be calling the reader "greed" no usage of the name "reader" just greed/you/he/him/his
-Greed doesn't really have his own name, well he doesn't remember. So he just named himself greed, so truly only his parents know his true identity.
-You also don't really have much of a sad backstory, but you could imagine it in any way if you want! This is just what I interpret. Greed doesn't have trauma or such, he was just a really mischievous kid and ran away from his home town and parents. Plus Kaito too
↓ more below
RELATIVES
-you play cookie run kingdom? Yeah she basically acts and looks like stormbringer cookie, well her hair is similar to stormbringer's.
-your mom... Well she got hit up one night and got pregnant with you, turns out the guy that impregnanted her was a douchebag. He ran away and abandoned both of you so she's a single mom now!
-she is actually a well known pirate, with a bounty of 1 billion berri ...woah!! She doesn't know you are working with the world government or if you're even alive yet! But she is still determined to find you.. Her only goal in life is to find the one piece, and of course her child.
-she has a devil fruit which is the Arashi Arashi no mi, I don't really quite know if it is a canon fruit but it was in the one piece wiki so... Yeah! It's basically a storm fruit, very similar to enel's fruit. (What if enel is actually your uncle.../j)
-I'll just put the devil fruit's info here so you don't have to search it.
MOM'S DEVIL FRUIT
-the Arashi Arashi no mi is a logia type fruit, which resembles storm. Acts like any normal logia, allows the user to control anything associated with weather , lightning, any anything that could happen during storms. Slightly better than the lightning fruit.
- mom also a conquer haki user. Very strong conquers haki.
This is what it looks like
Tumblr media
- similar to goro goro no mi/enel's fruit but it's lighting is 10x stronger and can be used for making or producing any thing! It can make swords out of lightning, bows out of storm clouds.. And etc.
-since it is a logia, all attacks not infused with Haki will go through the user and not harm them. And standard devil fruit weaknesses such as armament haki, seastone, water, yeah.
-ATTACKS
1. **Thunderstorm Barrage**: The user channels electricity through their body, unleashing a relentless barrage of lightning bolts that rain down upon their target. Each bolt carries a lethal surge of electricity capable of frying anything it strikes, leaving behind smoldering wreckage.
2. **Tempest Blade Dance**: The user raises his fist to create a whirlwind of razor-sharp wind blades. These blades cut through anything in their path with surgical precision, leaving behind a trail of devastation and shredded debris.
3. **Maelstrom Impact**: The user delivers a devastating sword strike imbued with the power of a raging storm, creating a swirling vortex of wind and debris around their blade. Upon impact, the maelstrom erupts, unleashing a shockwave that obliterates everything in its vicinity.
4. **Apocalyptic Tempest**: The user wields their sword to unleash a concentrated burst of energy that manifests as a cataclysmic stormfront of unparalleled ferocity. Lightning arcs across the sky, winds howl with the force of a tornado, and rain lashes down like a torrential downpour, laying waste to everything in its path.
5. **Thunderous Wrath**: The user wields their sword as a conduit for the heavens, drawing down a cataclysmic bolt of lightning. This bolt strikes with such force that it incinerates everything in its path, leaving behind scorched earth and smoldering remains.
6. **Cyclone of Annihilation**: The user creates a vortex of wind and debris that acts as an impenetrable barrier against all incoming attacks. Within the cyclone, the winds reach hurricane-force strength, tearing apart anything foolish enough to come too close.
7. . **Sonic Cataclysm**: The user strikes the air with their sword, unleashing a deafening shockwave that shatters the air itself. This sonic boom carries with it the destructive force of a bomb blast, pulverizing everything in its vicinity and leaving behind only devastation.
(Can be used only when the fruit is awakened) **Beam of the gods**: The user lifts his arms to create a gigantic ring of clouds from which a devastating beam of heated lightning releases. When this attack is used the user runs out of energy completely and cannot use anymore attacks
Once this fruit is awakened the attacks become much more deadlier and the lightening attacks which were once blue and white switch to a red (heated lightning) this means the user can damage even those who don't take any damage from normal lightning. The beam of gods can also be used but as mentioned before the user might pass out after using this attack due to energy drain .
MORE ABOUT YOU.
-you have a certain little birthmark on the side of your neck, it's like a little circle which is noticable when looking at your neck directly.
-you are actually quite older than Kaito, ignore what the pilot said about both of you being 15 when you left that was a pilot.. But both of you are quite opposites, Kaito is chaotic and unpredictable. Meanwhile you are slightly laid back and calm with your words, despite this difference you consider Yourselves as brothers. Kind of like the asl brothers y'know?
Btw, if you DON'T play crk. This is what stormbringer looks like.. they don't exactly look the same, but hair looks similar okay..
Tumblr media
But your mom isn't as playful as stormbringer, more demanding but as daring. Kind of like garp, your mom and garp are actually besties/j but srs garp and momma would be besties if they weren't enemies. Kind of a friendship rivalry going on between them (garp x momma real(

Ethereon (Redesign)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this Post deserves a bit of context. I redesigned my Ghost-Type Eeveelution, Ethereon. But why? Well despite what it looks like from my post history, Ethereon was actually the first Eeveelution I ever drew myself as well as the first full on Fakemon I ever designed. (Only Hisuian Raichu came earlier, but that one is a regional Variant)
And since it was the first, I wasn’t yet that good. The result was that I took some shortcuts while drawing and also messed up the proportions completely. And that always bothered me, I improved a lot since then but one of my favorite designs was also arguably my worst. And so I redid it, I choose a more dynamic pose so that all four legs are clearly visible unlike before, I had it face the viewer and increased it’s head size as to better match the other Eevees. And I’m really pleased with the results. I think this design is worthy of being called my favorite and I can also see how much I improved since the first design.
Now I will say, this is not likely to happen often. I am first and foremost an author and not an Illustrator. I draw to supplement my stories and so as long as I feel the design is not completely outdated I’ll not redraw it, even if I got that much better. Still I hope you enjoyed this new version and didn’t mind my rant. Here is the rest of the Lore copied over from the old post. (You can still find that here by the way.)

Occultist implements: Pop culture Cybermancy Magic
In pathfinder the concept of an occultist is the use of implements or tools to invoke the powers of other magic types. Similar to a warlock in my opinion or a wizard. In this post I wanted to list the tools that I see as comparable to the pathfinder occultist class. This falls into my Otherworld channeling class as a form of glamour but also as a form of shapeshifting. Not all implements are going to be technological, but they will work well in cybermancy when applied correctly.
Here is the page I used to draw up this list: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/alternative-rule-systems/occult-adventures/occult-classes/occultist/occultist-implements/
Abjuration
For abjuration, I could see myself using an amulet in the game or a holy symbol. Cybermancy versions of this would be as follows: A usb drive as a necklace with images in it as a form of statuary images, an actual amulet with a holy symbol (a pentagram or a triquetra).
Conjuration
For conjuration I feel that a figurine would be a good match for me. Examples of this would be images of trading cards from a game or my pokemon go+. Alternatively, a compact mirror would be a good physical tool as well.
Divination
Given that divination is my specialty in magic, I find that I have a lot of divination tools. My main ones that I have from this list are books, tarot decks (harrow decks) and crystal balls. I have the physical and the digital. Cybermancy versions of books and decks are my favorite go to for on the go.
Enchantment
This one should be pretty easy to guess. Enchantment being about the mind and emotions, anything to do with auditory senses is gonna be a tool for enchantment. In terms of software I use Audible, various music apps and YouTube. In terms of tech, a good set of noise canceling headphones or Dj headphones is ideal (preferably Bluetooth and foldable). Alternatively, you could use any retro tech like a cassette player, a cd player, or an mp3 player. Bonus points if the cd or cassette player has mp3, am/fm radio, and the ability to play cds or cassettes respectively.
Evocation
Ok while not necessarily tech based, metal of any kind is a good conduit for cybermancy. The implement that I would choose in this category would be a wand. A collapsible metal pointer or an old collapsible radio antenna is a great aesthetic and works well for commanding cybermantic energies. Alternatively an app like the Dr. who sonic screwdriver app is a good one for those that want their implements to be virtual.
Illusion
I’m gonna go with a crystal from this list because images of crystals are just as strong as their real counterparts. Also crystals resonate well with electrical energies.
Necromancy
While necromancy isn’t a specialty or even something I’ve extensively studied, I would have to go with the coins. Let’s be honest, we all have loose pennies that we have no real use for. So turn them into necromancy conduits. Copper may be a metal not associated with earth but it is useful for calling the dead because copper is a conduit through which the two worlds can be bridged.
Transmutation
I’m gonna have to go with belt for this one because a belt can also hold a bag on which your tools go. Thus it’s like Batman’s utility belt.

Energy
The user is able to control energy to their will, the thing that is the base of all the magic systems. With how energy influences things as a whole, Energy users are naturally stronger than most, only limited by their vitality and imagination.
Other than that, energy magic is in a way connected to some degree to all the other kinds of magic, due to people needing energy to even cast the simplest spell.
Energy is, alongside Light, Darkness, Space, Time, Void, Creativity, Life and Death, one of the Nine Primordial Magics.
It has two sub-elements, Electricity and Technology
Limitations:
Energy Absorption/Immunity
Distance, mass, precision, etc. depend upon the knowledge, skill, and strength of the user, and their power's natural limits.
May be unable to create energy, being limited to manipulating only from already existing sources.
May be limited by the amount of energy a person can hold in themselves.
Extensive use of powers over a long period of time could deplete one's energy reserves.
May be limited in amount of energy or the type of energy.
Energy spells
Dynamokinesis - manipulate or generate energy.
Energized Body - absorb energy to power oneself
Energy Absorption - absorb and utilize various kinds of energy
Energy Drain - drain living beings or objects from their energy
Energy Channeling - channel energy and use it for a variety of purposes.
Energy Concentration - concentrate one’s energy into a certain point of one’s body
Energy Connection - have a deep physical/spiritual connection with energies.
Energy Containment - contain/trap energy
Energy Defiance - ignore energy and energy currents
Energy Detection - sense the presence of energy in one's vicinity
Energy Generation - generate energy
Energy Manipulation - manipulate energy
Energy Attacks - use energy in offensive ways
Energy Defense - use energy in defensive ways
Energy Constructs - create constructs out of energy
Quintessence Force - create and manipulate an unique form of electrical and life energy.
Energy Immunity - be immune to energy
Energy Negation - negate energy
Energy Perception - perceive energy
Energy Signature Manipulation - manipulate one’s or people’s energy signature
Ergokinetic Flight - use energy to fly
Energy Blast - create blasts of energy.
Energy Emission - release energy.
Energymancy - gain divination via energy
Ergo-Telekinesis - use telekinesis through energy
Ley Line Manipulation - The user can manipulate ley lines, the conduits of energy that surround a planet.

Here’s a fun fact about my Hajime Hinata in my Team Hope 2 Multiverse AU ( Where Team Fortress 2 9 Mercenaries and Danganronpa 2 Goodbye Despair Students are the Main Characters which they called Team Hope) he’s a Prototype Conduit Human Child Hybrid
His Conduit and Blacklight Virus Powers works differently from Alex Mercer and Cole Macgrath
He can Switch between Blacklight Virus and conduit powers to his will and different types of situations
for Blacklight Virus Powers he can choose any type of biomass weapon now Like for a example claws on right arm and hammerfist on left arm and can change armor form types from light to heavy and can use shield on either right or left arm while using a biomass weapon
For the Conduit Powers he has every know manipulations and uses them for various purposes like getting a generator running, melting something and many more but still have to recharge his powers like smoke, neon, electricity etc much like other conduits and can even combined two different types of manipulations powers like Cryokinesis and Pyrokinesis
And even can enter Dual mode to use them both but can’t use them on the same arm either them had to be right or left and even can enhanced his biomass weapon with conduit powers giving them elemental type attacks
He still uses range and melee weapons from light to heavy due to his super strength and ability to aim thanks to Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu for the pistols (before the tragedy happened) and other weapon trainers for different type of firearms and melee weapons throughout the multiverse for a year while his family wrecking havoc as the remnants of despair due to the despair influence
can also enhanced them giving them elemental range and melee attacks when facing a certain creature or human and can dual wield pistols and SMGs including melee weapons thanks to Dual wielding trainers
he can lift pretty much adults, cars and heavy objects but not giant or massive sized beings, tanks and massive objects because hey I don’t want to make him too overpower trying to keep things fair and square

Vox Headcanons / Facts Masterlist:
Previous Posts: Leadership, His skin, Marriage, OCD.
I cannot find the post where I talked about his 'seizures', so I will do that here.
Vox's seizures/"glitches" are the result of the head trauma that killed him. He did not have them during life. Vox essentially has permanent low-scale internal bleeding which is why he has episodes / drools blood when he experiences strong emotions.
Sometimes this drool is the product of Val's pheromone, and can appear mixed with or separate from the blood. The man's been around him so long that Vox has built up something a tolerance to the pheromone, but it has become an intrinsic part of him— Vox is almost a conduit of secondhand smoke.
Vox is addicted to Val's pheromone but not in a way that is obvious to either of them. He is tolerant enough not to be reliant, but if he were to go an extremely long period of time without Val (like in my verse where Val dies), Vox would go through withdrawals.
In life, Vox had (relatively minor) knee problems; this allowed him to dodge being in the war. The problem with his knee was caused by a sport-related incident when he was in college. He does not retain this in Hell.
In highschool and college, Vox was on the baseball and (American) football team for his school. He was a popular rich jock type.
Vox went to private school. His parents were extremely rich and had high expectations for him. They were decent for their time period, but Vox wasn't especially close to either of them, and felt like he had to strive to be the best to impress his dad.
Vox has intense internalized homophobia, and a very overcompensating relationship to his own masculinity; Val has helped him overcome SOME of that, but he's still far from healed. Vox struggles with the idea of the person he thinks he "should" be and his actual desires and likes-- he is ashamed.
Vox can play back strong memories of his on his face at will. He also projects especially vivid dreams onto his face against his will.
Vox can eat, drink, smell, feel— everything a person can do. He has sensation in every part of his body, including his head. Vox is biomechanical, meaning he is a combination of biology and mechanics. Vox is between 75-80% biological.
His blood is a mix of blue electrical fluid and red blood. He has a mix of veins and normal organs and wires.
Removing and replacing his head is typically a very painful process that he does not trust others to witness, but opening the back of his head for small repairs typically does not hurt that much.
Living Vox wanted nothing more than to be seen as perfect, almost inhuman. Above anything that could make him come across as "weak" like emotions and all that-- in Hell, this has backfired on him; his TV head causes people to (knowingly or unknowingly) objectify him in the most literal sense, and his emotions are very much on display for all to see. He's been asked weird questions about his body, and some people don't even think he can feel pain like they can.
In life, Vox was a televangelist. He was popular within the niche, but he wasn't a nationwide celebrity. His cult was primarily monetary-based, a co-opted version of religion that he would preach so he could make it rich off of anyone naive enough to buy in. Vox's talk show consisted of interviews with special guests, him preaching to the camera, and musical numbers once in a blue moon, usually by local groups (Vox himself would not sing). His wife made some appearances on the show, but there was always something uncomfortable-seeming about her-- most people thought Vox was on the up and up, but there were weird undertones to his broadcasts that some people would pick up on.
Vox was 5'9" as a human, and had black hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. He died at the age of 55 due to an on-set accident. His wife was there.
Vox never had kids.
Vox is waterproof, and he can swim. He just has to be careful that he doesn't get into an emotional situation in which he might spark, because then he is at risk of electrocuting himself or others.
He owns multiple yachts; he likes vacationing, especially to tropical places. He likes fish and sharks. These things carried over from life; as a human, all of the above still applied. His parents had yachts, too.
He's a stalker, as we know; extremely paranoid and obsessive, but he tries to play it on the down-low. He doesn't want to make his partner feel smothered. Most of his spying comes from a voyeuristic place in his head, but some of it comes from his control issues and the fact that he feels like he needs to know everything or he'll start freaking out.
Vox suffers from an inflated sense of self and even BIGGER insecurities. He's the picture of "big ego, low self esteem." He thinks he's great... ish.
More will be added as I remember them.

Cyberchase - The Grim Wreaker Ship (as portrayed in Season 2 Episode 3 "Harriet Hippo and the Mean Green")
I really like the design that they went with for the internals of the Grim Wreaker, particularly during the episode "Harriet Hippo and the Mean Green". Up to this point, we had seen the exterior plenty of times, as well as the ramp leading inside. We had also seen the shuttle bay, where The Hacker stored Dr. Marbles's Cybercoop during that first episode. And of course, we had seen the bridge, where The Hacker piloted the ship from, plenty of times.
Tumblr media
However, this episode was the first one to have the kids actually explore the ship for a bit. The were mainly looking for the kitchen, so that they could get the wig gel cubes to undo Wicked's spell. However, this may actually be the most comprehensive look we've gotten of the internals, even over 20 years later.
When Jackie and Inez initially arrive, we can see that the walls are mostly a light purple. Most people were probably expecting Puce, given The Hacker's love of Puce. Personally, I like this color better. Would you call those conduits turquoise or aquamarine? I'm not sure if these conduits are cryoxide piping, water piping, or some sort of cabling. We see a big blue junction box in the top right with one of those conduits running to it. I have no idea what those sloping red-violet objects are, but we see more conduits running between them.
Tumblr media
Some of the red-volet boxes seem to have vents on them. If they all had them, then I would say that maybe they were baseboard heating. We can see a hallway trailing off into the distance. We can see large light fixtures spaced out here and there along the ceiling. We also see some of the smaller aquamarine conduits being swallowed by red-violet conduits. We can also see plenty more of those blue junction boxes with red dots, which could be buttons or lights.
Tumblr media
I love how big the interior of the ship is. The kids look so small, especially in this scene. I see something that looks like a coffee machine. It could be some other type of vending machine, but there's no window to show your choices. At the time time, the place where I assume the cup would be filled with coffee is awfully low for The Hacker to reach. Maybe this is something for Buzz.
Tumblr media
Okay, I can see some pressure gauges coming out of some of the aquarmarine pipes. I think these are Cryoxide pipes to keep various parts of the ship cool. However, I don't think that those curved aquamarine conduits are Cryoxide pipes. I think those are power cables (or Ethernet cables). How big is this place on the inside?
Tumblr media
I suppose I can't talk about this episode without bringing up one of the dumbest/funniest Buzz and Delete scenes. Jackie and Inez are trapped with nowhere to hide. Buzz and Delete are coming down the hall, and they will surely catch the girls. So, Jackie and Inez do the only thing they could do.
Tumblr media
And it works. Later, we see The Hacker's dining room and kitchen. Of course, he has a large portrait of himself as a master chef. We also see some blue conduits. Given that one goes into a cupboard, while another one goes to a light fixture, these are probably for electrical cabling.
Tumblr media
What is that thing on top of his fridge? Is that some kind of alcohol distillery ice cream maker?
Tumblr media
We also get to see his bedroom. We see his rug with his own face it. We see his portrait of himself as a king. We see that he has either a computer terminal or television at the foot of his bed. I'm not sure why this room has a more gray aesthetic. I like that he has windows looking out into Cyberspace that appear to have been placed randomly. But why does he have a disco ball over his bed? Why did we never get to see him actually wear those pajamas as a call-back?

Thor
Tumblr media
God of Thunder, Lightning, Storms, Sacred Groves and Trees, Strength, Protection, Hallowing (the act of declaring something, generally land, sacred), and Fertility
Appearance: Thor has long red hair and gold eyes with red sclera. He is tall and broad with a muscular physique and an angular face. He has angular benching gold markings on both his face and chest. Though these markings appear and disappear in certain panels which may indicate that they are some types of body jewelry.
Relationships: Thor is the eldest son of Jörð and Odin. He is close with his mother, to the point he continues to live in her chambers even when she has mostly moved out of Odin’s house. With Odin, he is extremely loyal, following Odin’s requests as needed. As the eldest of Odin’s sons, Thor often serves as the cleanup crew for his brothers, fishing them out of whatever trouble they have gotten into. Most of his brothers find him somewhat intimidating however Thor enjoys “spending time” with them (parallel play). As a child, one of Thor’s chief tutors and minders was Loki, who would watch him at Jörð’s request and taught him how to wield energy magics (lightning) at Odin’s. Thor considers Loki to be his older brother and was so devastated to learn they weren’t actually related as a child that he leveled a chunk of Odin’s holdings at the time (including his rooms) thus forcing him to move back into his mother's rooms, where Loki was also sleeping at the time due to the damage to his rooms. (Yes, Jörð did make them sleep in the same bed to stop him from crying.)
Thor considers himself to be amicably divorced from his ex-wife Sif, however, she would say differently. The two share two children, Ullr and Þrúðr, who Thor is extremely fond of. He has a longtime lover, Járnsaxa, one of the nine-waves who he enjoys hunting with, and has two sons, Magni and Móði, with her. He has offered to marry Járnsaxa multiple times however she is uninterested. Thor is extremely fond of all his children and wants them to be safe, however, his intentions are often misconstrued due to his poor communication skills. Despite this, he dedicates himself fully to supporting them and their interests to the best of his abilities.
Personality: Thor is a taciturn god prone to apathy and pessimism when he goes too long between conflicts. He enjoys combat most of all activities, the bloodier and more violent the better. Despite his love for bloodshed, he maintains a strict honor code, respecting his opponents and refusing to attack non-combatants or engage in combat when it is not appropriate.
Powers: Thor is an accomplished warrior and battle mage. His most notable magics involve manipulating electricity or the weather, however, he has a basic understanding of many different kinds of magic. As the son of the earth personified Thor is capable of some earth manipulation (moving stone), however, the only thing he has consistent success with growing is mushrooms. As a son of Odin, Thor is known to project his battle rage around him, sending those he fights into a frenzy that matches his own.
As a fighter Thor is very straightforward and often will simply use his unparalleled strength to throw objects at his opponents (like giant rocks). Thor is skilled with a variety of weapons, the most well-known of which is the hammer Mjölnir (which he often uses as a conduit for his magic), however he also possesses Megingjörð (belt of strength), Járngreipr (iron gloves to help wield Mjölnir), and Gríðarvöl (Gríðr's-staff). These three items were all given to him by Gríðr before she married Odin.
History: Thor was born as Odin was still expanding his holdings and joined in the fighting quite young. Most of his early magical training was done with Loki, who was being fostered by his mother at that time and his main companion. His first real fight was against Loki’s brother Býleistr. He went on to fight in the later battles of the Aesir-Vanir war and the numerous conflicts with Jötunns or other groups.
A while after the Aesir-Vanir war ended, Thor married Sif at Odin’s request. The marriage was supposed to improve relations with the Vanir and get them a seer which was one of Sif’s rumored powers. Instead, it was found out during the wedding that Sif was pregnant, and shortly after Ullr was born. Despite this Thor still declared Ullr his son and named him after his birth. Thor and Sif had one biological child, their daughter Þrúðr, who Thor is extremely protective of to the point of killing her suitors. Sif went on to cheat on Thor multiple times, along with other complaints (from her) leading to their eventual separation.
After Valhalla was formed Thor takes Járnsaxa as his lover and the two have two sons. Thor now spends his time training, sticking his nose in his children’s business, cleaning up his family’s messes, and sulking around over the lack of good opponents for him to fight.
Trivia: Thor prides himself on being able to pick up all his younger relatives, including Jörmungandr, who, based on the estimates I have seen, would weigh at least 7 billion pounds at full size.
Bonus Trivia: The tradition of depicting Thor’s hammer as heavier-headed than war hammers and mauls predates the manga industry, being also seen in the Altuna Runestone which was carved by actual Vikings and shows Thor putting his foot through a boat while trying to pull Jörmungandr from the sea. Though RoR goes above and beyond in the size of said hammer even compared to other modern depictions.

For Riley!! 🎮📚🩹🎶🔺🌈🍎💔💘😊!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH 😁💖 I’M SO HAPPY TO TALK ABOUT THIS KID
Here’s some references for Riley. Credit to Wervty and Naylissah on Picrew for the images
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🎮 What are three of your oc's favorite hobbies?
Riley loves guitar and wants to learn how to play it. He also likes exercise, even if Rio’s training gets ridiculous or excessive. To everyone’s surprise, he shows a lot of interest in studying health and medicine. Avery makes him his unofficial apprentice.
📚 What level of education has your oc most recently completed/is currently in (GED, undergraduate, grad school, phd, etc)?
Vesely has a school program for patients, so technically Riley is still getting a high-school education. The last official schooling he had was in junior-high.
🩹 Does your oc have any physical and/or mental disabilities?
I’m not sure if it counts, but since his powers generate large amounts of electricity, it scars his arms and damages the nerves. Too much use of it also starts to affect his heart.
That’s why Riley and Thomas work so well together. Thomas’ phasing means that when they touch him, the electricity can move through his body without hurting him, but he also had less control over it.
🎶 What type of music does your oc like? Do they listen to music very often?
Lots of alternative rock, stuff he can turn on during training and headbang to. He also loves the older rock that Jason listens to like Venus Wonder (the Freaks-universe equivalent of the band Queen).
🔺 Does your oc know how to use any weapons?
Aside from his powers, which generate strands of electricity, Rio teaches him how to use a staff as a conduit while he fights.
🌈 What is your oc's sexual orientation/gender identity? What pronouns do they use?
Riley is bisexual and transgender, the latter of which he is very defensive about. He won’t tolerate being called anything other than “he/him.”
🍎 Where was your oc born? Do they still live in/around their place of birth or do they live somewhere else? How do they feel about their birthplace?
Riley was born in a small town somewhere around Preston (I haven’t come up with a name lol). He hates everything about that town, from the school that bullied him, to the church that called him a demon, to the childhood home where his mother called him horrible names and forced him to wear dresses and regularly called the cops to have someone take this kid away. Thankfully, Jason and Rio were the ones to rescue him, and he’ll never have to see that town again.
💔 What are three of your oc's negative traits?
Riley is incredibly defensive to the point where he starts fights that aren’t necessary. He’s so used to pain and having his heart broken that he lashes out the minute he thinks someone is going to hurt him.
He can be grumpy, even with friends. Kevin lives and breathes to pester him, and though their banter is mostly playful, there are times where Riley says something hurtful. He always apologizes later.
He has little respect for grown-ups or authority figures. There have been days where this highly-powerful and rightfully-angry teenage boy has hospitalized trained officers by electrocuting them. The only adults he trusts are Jason and Henry, and eventually his adoptive parents (Avery gets a pass because he’s still technically a college graduate).
💘 What and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?
His friends are the most important things in his life. They welcomed him, supported him, and loved him when his family refused to. He says he would kill a man for them, even though he doesn’t really want to.
This also becomes true for his adoptive family. He doesn’t trust them to stay, at first, but he grows to love them dearly.
😊 What are your oc's career/general life desires? What do they want to get the most out of life?
Riley wants to be a doctor. Ever since Jason mentioned it as an option, ever since he showed faith that Riley could help people, Riley’s wanted to follow that path. He never thought he was capable of anything other than destruction, and now he wants to live up to the hope that Jason gave him.
