A "Vought OS2U Kingfisher is salvaged by a Royal Canadian air force Piasecki H-21 helicopter in the spring of 1964. It had remained on the slopes of Mount Buxton, Calvert Island, British Columbia, since it crashed there on August 20, 1942. After reconstruction by the Vought Aeronautics' quarter century club, the OS2U was placed on display aboard Battleship North Carolina at Wilmington, North Carolina, and was dedicated on June 25, 1971."
Please dont use pre-frontal cortex development as if its a real medical thing, it’s internet pseudo science that is incredibly ableist and used to harm neurodivergent peeps like me
There is. So much I have to say to this but three points
1. I am literally a psychology major. I’m in two research labs, one about psychophysiology and one about developmental psychology. I got an A in Behavioral Neuroscience last semester. Pre-frontal cortex development is 100% a real, scientific and medical concept that happens as we age from children into adults. I am more than happy to cite the past 50 years of research that indicates as such.
2. What the hell is this, the oppression olympics? I’m also neurodivergent — I’ve got ADHD. That’s got nothing to do with typical pre-frontal cortex development like I was referring to with Basim.
the things I do for Lewis Pullman (watching The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and enduring Jason Clarke’s character going on a rant about the supposed strength and bravery of Navy old-timers)

RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — More than half a million people in Gaza — a quarter of the population — are starving, according to a report Thursday by the U.N. and other agencies that highlights the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s bombardment and siege on the territory in response to Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack.
The extent of the population’s hunger eclipsed even the near-famines in Afghanistan and Yemen of recent years, according to figures in the report. The report warned that the risk of famine is “increasing each day,” blaming the hunger on insufficient aid entering Gaza.
“It doesn’t get any worse,’’ said Arif Husain, chief economist for the U.N.’s World Food Program. “I have never seen something at the scale that is happening in Gaza. And at this speed.”

At the start of the war, Israel stopped all deliveries of food, water, medicine and fuel into the territory. After U.S. pressure, it allowed a trickle of aid in through Egypt. But U.N. agencies say only 10% of Gaza’s food needs has been entering for weeks.
