i totally get not shipping jonerys but i think there's too much potential for george not to explore. i do think jon is going to be critical of dany’s methods and they’re doomed, but they have a lot in common too? like wanting to impose their beliefs and world view on others, and they can bond over having really bad pr too! i just hope that it’s more interesting than the show, for my own sanity.
I do think there's potential to explore but I just do not see the romantic potential. Their commonalities are not the sort that would make them get along. Jon's bad PR is he's a reclusive dick running off bad advice (from another Targaryen to boot) who won't explain his long term plans to people he doesnt like, sends every single one of his allies away, and is trying to break down long held prejudices in the span of a few months. Dany's bad PR seems similar except on top of "breaking down long held prejudices" she trusts violent, shady ass men at every turn (while Jon just straight up executes Slynt! Do you see Jon misstep wrt Alliser and Bowen? Yes, but he is not sitting here justifying their violence the way Dany justifies men like Daario), compromises in ways that completely undermine the prejudices she's trying to break down, and has now simply accepted that her dragons killing innocent people is an acceptable loss. Dany takes a profit off the selling of slaves and I simply do not believe Jon would react so cavalierly to Dany telling him about how she burned her slave alive to hatch her dragons, especially after whatever shenanigans Melisandre and Stannis are going to be getting up to in TWOW. Not for nothing here, but Jon does not use Ghost as a killing machine; anyone or anything Ghost has killed has been in defense of Jon while Drogon is very much a weapon of war.
Beyond that, Dany's identity is very tied up in the being the last dragon. She's going to be ten times worse in the books about finding a dragonseed in Westeros, especially if Rhaegar found out Elia was killed and married Lyanna, thereby legitimizing Jon above Dany's own claim. She's going to kill Aegon VI and destroy KL, maybe even Casterly Rock and parts of Dorne as well! The thing I think everyone overlooks here though is that she is not getting to Westeros until the very end of TWOW at the earliest! She's going to have wracked up a kill count higher than every other character on page, probably a kill count higher than the Conquerors or the Dance or the Redgrass Field. Regardless of any similarities they have in their backgrounds, what Jon is likely to feel when she lands is horror, and a fair amount of nerves. Do I think he will feel guilt for having a hand in his aunt's death, in ending the line of Targaryens? Yes, absolutely! It doesn't mean his guilt will drive him to side with a woman who lands with a slave army and then sets fire to half the continent.
And to be completely honest, if they do hook up, if she lands and she's lauded as a hero after destroying the city states of Slaver's Bay, after slaughtering the khals of the dothraki, after taking a profit off slavery and engaging in collective and cruel & unusual punishment, if murdering Aegon VI for *checks notes* being lied to about who he is and having a better claim than her but not "earning" his ending, and finds some sort of happiness with Jon, I'm saying that's 100x more misogynistic than what the show did, not to mention nauseatingly imperialist and classist. The reason I am very firm in saying Dany will go dark is because it is my opinion anything less is a betrayal of the themes of non violence, the costs of war, and the punishing of the poor. Like, Robb's murder is a tragedy but the book does not shy away from the harm he does! Dany will not (should not!) be treated any different just because she's a woman; that's like the basis of feminist theory!

ITV writer when they (not so accidentally) create abusive male leads and need to back track:
I KNOW! Let's add a track of damsel female lead unjustly suffering so he can rescue her and become a hero again.
ITV writers when they (completely by accident) write a flaw into their female lead:
OOPS! qUICk GET IN THAT FEMALE SUFFERING. hehehe now we never have to deal with pesky *eurgh* female character development.
ITV writer when they need filler episodes to get through a patch of rough TRPs:
Hmmm...shall we add an endless loop of female lead unjustly suffering?
ITV writers when they breath: FEMALE LEAD AND ONLY FEMALE LEAD (NOT OTHER WOMEN IN THE SHOW) S U F F E RING

Future Trio
Dusknoir was annoying to design bwuh. Was trying to not make his weird collar thing look like fur but it looked bad so I just gave up so now he's a little fluffy. Anyways, here they are, the polycule™! Next one will be Darkrai and Cresselia! Might plop Skuntank in there too? probably should. We'll see if I design anyone else, Wigglytuff's Guild is so many characters that I don't wanna even try them dfjgnsk
Anyways character profiles below the cut!
The info in this is from some point between Amp Plains and Crystal Cave so pre-Dusknoir betrayal o/
Quetzal [Grovyle]
Species: Grovyle
Gender: Male [he/him]
Age: 34
Time Gear Thief
Fully aware that Bear [Albert] has beaten them to the past; is extremely worried about Wren's safety
Recognizes that not killing Uxie was extremely stupid of him but it's too late to go back on that decision
Has fainted at least twice from lack of self care; has started imagining Wren's and Finch's reaction to this to motivate him to do better and it surprisingly works
Has a growing collection of stuff that he thinks Wren and Finch would like; recognizes that he'll probably never get to show Finch any of it but isn't really deterred by this
Trans baby!
His feelings towards Bear is complicated
Albert [Dusknoir]
Species: Dusknoir
Gender: Male [he/him]
Age: 36
Renowned Solo Explorer
Actual name is Owl Bear; Oriole has taken to calling him Owl as a nickname
Future holder of the Relic Fragment
Genuinely cares about Oriole; has known Oriole would need to be killed since finding out he is the Relic Fragment holder of the past
Has been mentally preparing himself for having to return to the future since hearing about Treeshroud Forest's time gear
Has also been bidding goodbye to a bunch of acquaintances and friends he's made in the past, albeit vaguely/cryptically
Dislikes Wren in particular; thinks them a hypocrite and still does
He is not 7' 3" because that's just too tall, anyways we'll blame it on the malnutrition growing up
Finch [Celebi]
Species: Celebi
Gender: Demi-Girl [she/her/it]
Age: 31
Inherited Renegade
Time-related abilities are substantially stunted due to being born post collapse of time
Doesn't remember/know much about their predecessor other than the fact that they went rogue after the collapse of time and died a violent death
Was initially wary of Wren but the two of them hit it off well and became close
Misses Wren and Quetzal immensely but puts on a cheerful facade to try and ignore the loneliness
Post Wren and Grovyle going to the past, she was attacked by a spooky dark figure who she initially mistook for Wren; neck scars are from their clawed hand holding her to the ground
Did you know Celebi are 2' tall? I'm throwing that out because her head would be huge if I made her twice as tall as Wren

Not trying to start any drama or anything, but I sent that ask letting off some steam about Mike being a petulant little man, and a lot of tags in the reblogs were calling me out that I don’t know mikes humor, he’s always been like that etc etc etc. but I just want to make my point clear, that I like you all have watched all the videos too. There is a marked change in his insolence. Whereas in the past mikes jabs at rich and Jay were mean yes, they felt like a part of the bit. Written jokes, even if there was no script. Like it was an understanding that Mike was gonna use insult humor to make jokes and build the channel. And I think it probably worked. Whereas now it’s not as directly mean, like direct fat jokes or gay jokes or whatever, now it’s just more dismissive of rich and jay’s opinion just to make room for mikes. (I don’t think you watched the acolyte video but Mike in editing, cut off rich in such a disrespectful and shitty way that it really irked me) also the “shut ups” in particular from Mike seem to me to be the most disrespectful, not only because it’s boorish or inelegant in its delivery, but because he is their “boss” it’s even more particularly distasteful, because they usually do just shut up when he tells them to. It just highlights a power imbalance that MAY have been there all along, I’m not sure, but that rift feels even more wide, and makes Mike feel even more like a tyrannical boss to them, which makes him seem more like a petulant little shit.
Anyway as always thank you for listening. You are always one of the most clear eyed in the fandom, and I always respect your opinion. Thanks!
Anon to be honest with you I've been where you've been a couple times myself where I was shy or hesitant to post my opinion so I send an anon ask, and then people write in the notes horrid shit that should happen to me cuz it's "just some anon" which is why I can sympathize with you. I understand what feelings led you to send this ask after the last one yet I can tell you from experience that you honestly shouldn't have sent it, it unfortunately won't help your case if you overexplain yourself to people that evidently have made up their minds and have come to different conclusions from watching about as many videos as you have. Usually it won't help you come to terms with the feelings you might've gone through while looking at like 7 people bash your theory with you being unable to argue back with this format. I'll publish this ask mostly for this piece of advice but if you get more of the same notes on this ask I can't help you. And I know u said u didn't want to start any drama but unforch by sending this ask alone you kind of are 😭
But let's assume you wanted to just send this to me specifically as a DM you couldn't send for X or Y reason just to chat and for the rest of this response I'll answer accordingly.
I still haven't watched the Acolyte video and you can't make me !!! Despite what my blog looks like I value my time dearly.
Your accusations are kinda heavy. I can already tell you that there's one point that isn't quite correct which is that "when Mike tells them shut up they do" because in one of the latest "shut up" instances Jay continued exactly where he left off.
Seen objectively, one thinks "boss" and thinks some degree of power is at play, but in execution, the hint that we've been given is that supposedly Jay has just as much power to not upload edits he doesn't give the ok to post (with some exceptions as seen in the Space Cop commentary where Jay personally didn't want the joke in there where it was implied his character shoved something 10 inches long up his ass, or where Rich and Jack said in PreRec they protested vehemently against the "whazaaaa" joke at the beginning and they couldn't change Mike's mind).... From this All we can infer is that movies are a different ballpark to Mike or at least Space Cop was. I KNOW I've mentioned Jay complaining about the Wedding arc in the Projection Booth Podcast too before but him saying that he found it "horrible" doesn't equal that he didn't want it to be in the show unlike the two Space Cop instances.
TLDR we can't say with certainty if they mightn't have taken FURTHER countermeasures that we don't see that might counteract this POSSIBILITY of a owner vs. employee power imbalance.
A more cynical side of me has seen this company-of-friends model go very nightmarishly horribly many times in the past and I think some people feel threatened by the idea that their dream might be impossible or have a low chance of succeeding.
I think I can vaguely see what you're seeing in terms of what Mike insult-jokes have looked like through the years but there's a fair amount from back then I didn't like either, like this horrible old Plinkett commentary that sounds like an audiobook version of his video descriptions where not a single joke-insult towards Rich and Jay hits so they just land on the floor with a thud and feel weirdly bitter. (btw they are all before the 4:03 mark so please don't torture yourself listening to the rest of the commentary)
Ultimately as I've been saying your views are your own and I would personally value them as questionable and I don't exactly have the authority to prove you wrong. I have absolutely 0 at stake so I don't feel like defending their reputation much either lol all I'll do is add an ALLEGEDLY banner. You're welcome.

Darkvision
Over the course of the game's timeline, Dalamus is especially vulnerable to spells and other things which blind via sudden bright light (or even just, spells with bright light that aren't specifically intended to blind), and it takes him about twice as long, sometimes longer, for him to recover than most other characters.
Where many characters have sight disadvantaged by darkness and have more advantage in the light, Dalamus works nearly opposite. In most normal darkness, he sees very clearly, whereas proximity to bright light sources (not necessarily candles, but definitely things like torches or especially large fires) can disadvantage him depending on the placement of the light in his field of vision.
When he casts Dancing Lights, he will often cast it in the air above the party or battlefield to prevent from blinding himself while giving party members more visibility with minimal effect on his own. Though, if useful, he will cast it where it can temporarily blind/stun enemies, even if it means he must risk being temporarily blinded, himself (this requires a lot of trust in party members to not leave him unprotected while vulnerable).
Over time, Dalamus will become used to the light of the surface. But he will resist this for as long as he is convinced he will return to Menzoberranzan, not wanting to potentially weaken or diminish his Darkvision.

Oxenfree 2 spoilers, re the 'final choice'
I played the whole game in a solid 7 hour chunk yesterday and I'm still trying to decide how I feel about it, and I'll have to do another playthrough when I can, because there's so much of the way the characters are that seems based on your choices so I wanna see what happens when I make other choices
but I'm seeing that a lot of people let Olivia go through the portal at the end, and that everyone who didn't is saying those who did are monsters for letting this grief-stricken teenager kill herself
and. i don't think there is a 'right' choice at the end there in most circumstances. but i did let Olivia take the radio, because as awful as it felt I just kept thinking that I couldn't do that to Rex
especially since we just had a ghost moment of Rex telling Riley she has to keep fighting, even though she's going to keep failing? to follow that up with 'or you can just kill yourself now to save these kids'? like it is a horrible thing to do to Olivia but it's a horrible thing to do to Rex too?
honestly, based on my playthrough, the 'right' thing seems to be Jacob going through the portal. few players forced him to because apparently the only way for him to do it is if you force him - I didn't even let him come on the island with me. I saw the prompt that I could stop him and immediately knew that if I didn't he would die. Riley kept seeing visions of her future but Jacob never did. Jacob kept talking to me about how he feels he never did anything important in life, how he likes just chilling in his hometown, how he doesn't have any grand ambition but also wants to do something important and meaningful
when that prompt popped up I thought 'if I go to that island I'm getting sucked into this loop too and I'm not coming back; Jacob doesn't deserve that' and I made him stay. I'm curious now if there's a specific dialogue tree that leads to Jacob deciding, at the end, that him going through that portal and saving everyone by doing what he's always been doing is his way of being a hero. but that wasn't the option i'd been given. instead I had two suicidal people, who both had their whole lives in front of them
