hi darling, hope you're having a lovely, wonderful day!!
i'm so excited you reached out with your q today, because i literally know how challenging it can be to feel adrift in a sea of cliquey vibes at uni. it really sucks when you're surrounded by friendly faces in one circle but then find yourself in classes where almost everyone else seems distant, unwelcoming, or even downright snobby. i totally understand the weight of feeling unsupported especially during group work or oral presentations. so, let’s chat through some super detailed strategies to help you not only survive but thrive rn in these tricky social settings.

⋆. 𐙚 ˚appreciating your core circle & celebrating your uniqueness⋆. 𐙚 ˚
firstly, your core friend group is such a precious gem. remember, having a close-knit set of people who know and love you is more important than being universally liked. here’s how to make the most of your supportive tribe:
• before tough classes or presentations, lean on your close friends. even a quick pep talk or a smile exchanged across the room can boost your confidence. • use your circle as a sounding board for your ideas. they can help you rehearse presentations or give you tips on how to navigate group assignments. • celebrate your wins together. even if it’s after a brilliant group discussion or just overcoming a day that felt isolating, take some time to share those moments. • remind yourself daily that your worth is not determined by the acceptance of everyone around you. you are a unique, clever individual radiating positivity. never forget that.
2. ⋆. 𐙚 ˚turning group projects into a positive challenge⋆. 𐙚 ˚
group assignments can be super intimidating when you’re unsure whom you can rely on. but think about it as an opportunity to discover parts of yourself you might not have met otherwise. here are some practical steps for navigating group work:
• start by introducing yourself warmly. a simple "hi, i’m [your name]—i'm excited to work with you all" can set a friendly tone. • initiate a casual group chat or a quick get-to-know-you meet-up before diving into the work. suggest grabbing coffee or even meeting in a quiet corner of the campus to chat. • assign roles based on everyone's strengths. this not only clarifies who is doing what but also gives everyone a chance to feel valued. propose clearly defined tasks by asking, "what part do you really love doing?" or "which part feels natural to you?" • if some group members remain distant or rude, focus on collaborating with those who are engaged. sometimes, it’s okay if one or two people are enthusiastic. quality over quantity. • always have a backup plan for situations when group dynamics falter. perhaps create a personal outline for the project and set aside time to rework any loose ends. this helps you retain control over your part of the assignment, even if others aren’t as invested.
3. ⋆. 𐙚 ˚building personal resilience and managing class anxiety⋆. 𐙚 ˚
feeling out of place in classes where few familiar faces exist is completely normal, but there are some really neat ways to boost personal resilience. i like to think of these techniques as little self-care rituals that build your inner strength:
• start your morning or class prep with affirmations. say something like "i am enough" or "i belong here" as you look in the mirror. these affirmations can be surprisingly powerful. • cultivate a mindfulness practice. even just five minutes of deep breathing before class can help center your energy. use mindfulness apps or even a simple timer to guide you through a quick meditation. • keep a journal of small victories. jot down every little win, like speaking up in class or even smiling through a challenging presentation. these notes become a lovely reminder of how far you’ve come. • set up a pre-class ritual that calms your nerves. even if it’s listening to your favorite song, enjoying a cup of herbal tea, or just giving yourself a gentle pep talk, these rituals let you enter class with a positive mindset. • acknowledge that it’s okay to feel anxious. instead of trying to push the feeling away, wrap yourself in understanding and self-love. after all, every uni student feels the pressure sometimes.
4. ⋆. 𐙚 ˚creating meaningful connections beyond your immediate classes⋆. 𐙚 ˚
even if certain classes feel socially isolated, there are countless ways to build community on campus. sometimes, the most unexpected connections can blossom into the most sincere friendships. consider these avenues:
• join uni clubs, societies, or interest groups that resonate with your passion. it can be a creative club, a study group, or a casual meetup for a shared hobby, these environments tend to be super welcoming. • attend campus events, workshops, or talks. these can be fantastic settings for meeting people outside the rigid structure of classroom interactions. it's a chance to meet someone who shares your vibe and interests. • volunteer for student-led initiatives. taking part in projects or community service can show you a side of your peers that you wouldn't normally see in a lecture hall. • look into mentoring programs or campus counseling services. many unis offer support that not only helps with academic stress but also with social challenges. sometimes, sharing your struggles with someone who understands can be incredibly reassuring. • consider creating a little interest group of your own if you notice others who feel similarly isolated. even a small, informal study or discussion group can help you forge lasting bonds.
5. ⋆. 𐙚 ˚reframing challenges into growth experiences⋆. 𐙚 ˚
it’s natural to feel disheartened when you face exclusion or cold responses. but often, these challenges are little nudges guiding you to develop a thicker skin and a stronger sense of self. try out these reframing ideas:
• view each uncomfortable encounter as a step towards personal growth. every time you overcome social hurdles, you’re building resilience and learning more about yourself. • remember that some people’s unfriendliness is more about their own insecurities than any shortcomings on your part. their behavior says more about them than it does about you. • channel any negative energy you encounter into creative or academic pursuits. write down your thoughts, doodle your feelings, or even consider a blog post about your journey. creativity is a wonderful way to turn pain into something beautiful. • celebrate your uniqueness. the qualities that set you apart are what make you valuable. sometimes, it’s exactly those differences that will eventually attract the right people into your life. • let every difficult experience remind you of the person you are becoming. each challenge faced is a victory in building your inner power and empathy.
6. ⋆. 𐙚 ˚personal rituals that keep you grounded⋆. 𐙚 ˚
i believe in creating a few personal rituals to help navigate the ups and downs of uni life. these little practices can serve as anchors on days when everything feels overwhelming:
• before class, take a quiet moment to enjoy a comforting cup of coffee or tea. let that be a moment just for you, a time to gather your thoughts and breathe. • keep a small token or journal with you. it could be a piece of jewelry, a lucky charm, or even a handwritten note that reminds you of your intrinsic worth. whenever you feel isolated, hold that token and feel the support it symbolizes. • make a mini “positivity checklist” for turbulent days: 1. take three deep breaths. 2. text or call a friend from your trusted circle. 3. quickly jot down one thing you’re proud of from the day. 4. give yourself a moment to reflect on a past success. • if ever the weight of anxiety feels too heavy, try a quick self-soothing exercise like stretching or taking a brisk walk between classes. little bursts of movement can reset your mind. • remind yourself that self-care isn’t selfish! it’s essential. investing time in nurturing your well-being pays off in your academic life and beyond.
⋆˚ 𝜗𝜚˚⋆final thoughts & encouragement⋆˚ 𝜗𝜚˚⋆
i know how overwhelming it can feel rn when every class and group project seems to amplify your insecurities. but darling, every challenge is also a lesson in disguise. use these moments as opportunities to cultivate your strengths, build resilience, and discover new facets of yourself. your uni journey is uniquely yours, sprinkled with little moments of growth, learning, and even unexpected joy. sometimes, the journey might seem rocky, but every bump is teaching you how to rise a little higher each time.
remember, you are not alone. even in moments where you feel isolated, your inner strength and your supportive circle are there to hold you up. take these strategies at your own pace, experiment with what feels right for you and make adjustments as needed. your story is still unfolding, and every challenge you overcome adds another beautiful chapter.
sending you the biggest virtual hug and all the good vibes!! keep shining in your own unique way and know that these hurdles are just stepping stones to an even brighter future. i hope these detailed tips bring you some comfort and clarity, and if you ever need to chat or dive into more ideas, feel free to send more asks!! remember to take care of yourself and keep believing in your incredible journey!!

The Vulnerable Writer: Chapter 6
To my knowledge, I am the only professor in the history of humankind to have willingly subjected himself to being stripped naked and forced to come at the hands of his students. As I sat naked in my office, my students having claimed today's clothing, and my heart pounding as I snuck peeks out of my office window to observe the parking lot slowly empty, I had a lot of time to think.
Most of my thoughts were geared toward thinking about how I would ever live this down. How could I go back to my students tomorrow, strip completely naked and teach them with any hope that they would respect me after they had shredded my clothing today and jerked me off (and if I'm being honest, they hadn't really jerked me off, I got so caught up in the sensation of them looking at me that I didn't even last a full minute from my cock flopping out of my underwear to my seed spilling across the classroom floor). If I kept going back to class and stripping completely naked, how long would it be before a student snuck a picture and posted me online, or before a more pious student decided to report me to my department head, or before I was caught in any of the other million ways that I could be caught.
But if I went back on my word? I knew I was more likely to be reported if I broke my promise than I would be if I kept showing up to class, stripping down to my birthday suit, and trying to carry on like my cock wasn't flopping around in front of my students and my ass wasn't jiggling unsupported with every nervous step I took.
And what if seeing my entire naked body stopped being motivational for my students? What more would they or could they ask from me?
And if this is successful? A quiet voice whispered in the back of my head.
Our faculty has spent the nearly five years since the COVID pandemic trying to find a way to motivate students to care about their studies. Every academic journal I read had a new study about creative techniques on how to motivate burned out students. To my amazement, once my class had calmed down after my little show, that very first day I spent fully naked in front of them, they all sat up in their seats and paid attention to me for the remainder of class. Sure, most of them weren't looking me in the eye, but instead they were watching my cock swing back and forth, but they had participated like no class I've taught even before the lockdowns. They asked questions, they volunteered to read aloud sections from the essays I'd assigned them. Whenever I asked questions, at least five students raised their hands to answer. I'd never taught a better class in my entire career.
Despite the fact that my face was certainly bright red for the entirety of our class period, or maybe because I was so embarrassed and so vulnerable with my students, we had entered into some kind of reciprocal relationship, where my students were graciously giving me support. The small quiet voice in my brain wanted to do more studies, to write an article about my experience, to see if other professors would be willing to do similar experiments with their students.
Of course, that was out of the question. My administration did not know that I had decided to use these methods. They could not know. Without having those conversations with my administrators, I would never be able to to move forward with any actual research. And I wasn't sure I really wanted to, since it would mean even more time naked in front of students, course after course to collect data.
I cracked the window blinds again, leaning back in my chair so my abs stretched and my armpit hair would have been on full display if anyone walked into the door at that moment. I watched my department head cross the parking lot, climb into his Lexus and drive away. I couldn't deny the thrill of pleasure I felt sitting in my work office, stark naked, watching my boss leave work.
For the next couple of months. I'd walk to my class in my new teaching suit. Wait for class to start, and begin the class by removing all of my clothing, folding it, and draping it over the side of the chair. Then, I would teach my lessons. Class after class, week after week, month after month, I would teach the best lessons of my life, with the most engaged students I could imagine. Whenever anyone started to act up, Cody or Seth would tell them to be quiet, and just like that, classroom tension would be resolved. And I'd walk back and forth across the classroom, my bare feet slapping on the floor, my cock at eye level with all my students.
It was near the end of the semester when my students let me know what they had done. They had all submitted their first vulnerable essays, the ones that had gotten me naked and spilling cum in front of them, to the school's literary magazine, and every last one of them had been published. I beamed with pride, and then the panic set in.
The first email came from my department head. I received it thirty minutes after the class period when my students told me they'd all been accepted for publication. He congratulated me on my accomplishments as a professor and let me know that he would be joining my class the following afternoon to learn more about my methods. Four more emails came in throughout the afternoon from other professors in the department, all of them scheduling opportunities to come observe my class.
With each email, my stomach plummeted. I would have five colleagues sitting in my class tomorrow. I imagined trying to start the day without stripping down and imagined the absolute uproar that would ensue from my students.
The next day, as I walked into class, I made eye contact first with Cody, who smirked at me. He was seated in front of my department head. Along the back wall stood four professors, all of them older, all of them men who had been on my tenure board, all of them men I admired.
I had spent the whole night agonizing about whether to inform them of what they could expect and debating whether or not I could ask them to choose not to attend. In the end I had just left their emails on read, and mentally prepared myself for the fact that five more men would be added to the list of people who would see me teach in the buff.
"Class, you'll notice we have some visitors today," I said as class began, taking off my suit jacket and folding it over the back of my chair at the front of the room.
All eyes went back to the department head, and then they settled back on me. They were waiting, curious to see if I was a man of my word.
"Since you've all performed so well in this department, some of my colleagues have asked to see my teaching methods," I continued.
Cody whooped. My department head cocked an eye brow but remained silent.
I unbuttoned the sleeves of my shirts at the wrists and started to roll them up, my forearms exposed. Then I reached up and loosened my tie and unbuttoned my top button.
"I didn't warn them how relaxed we get in this class," I said.
"Damn straight," Seth said, "We get really fucking relaxed in this class."
And too my amazement, Seth stood up, and started to undress. All eyes were on him as his skin came more and more into view, and within fifteen seconds he had stripped completely naked, his toes wiggling on the floor, his penis swaying. He winked at the head of the department and sat back down.
"Really relaxed," Cody said.
He also stood up and undressed completely. His cock inches away from my department head's face, and I watched my department head's eyes tracking the arc of Cody's dick.
Within a minute, every student had stood up and stripped completely naked. I'd never seen so much male flesh in one room.
"In this class, clothes don't get in the way of our learning," Seth said.
"That's right," I said, feeling grateful to my students. "None of us do."
My department head sat behind Cody watching me as I stripped off my own clothing. Within seconds I stood completely naked in front of my boss, in front of my colleagues, in front of all my naked students. I met my department head's eye.
He sat, one of the only clothed men in the room, and I could see that he was enjoying it. At the thought of my boss being pleased to see me in all my naked glory, I stiffened, my penis pointing directly at the department head.
"Let's get this class started," I said, turning to the chalk board and giving my department head the view of every last inch of my skin.

Tumblr media
،، Everybody wants to love her like that.
Tumblr media
Acting had always been a dream of yours.
Maybe an unsupported dream since everyone told you that theater doesn't make a good career path, but then again, who cared? It was only until Varrick started to do movers that your enthusiasm came back.
The man was preparing a new series of movers where they tried to use Nuktuk to start a whole franchise for different nations to later on make them a group of invincible heroes and the next star was going to be a firebender fighting against a group of different benders –ah, yeah, he wanted to use the Red Lotus as inspiration.– and his idea was for the firebender to be a woman.
You didn't know about this new idea of his since you didn't really have an agent or agency, but Bolin was the first to tell and recommend you after you helped him with some acting lessons back when he was Nuktuk. Varrick held an audition with you and decided that you would be his next big discovery and so it happened, even if you weren't a fire nation citizen.
By the time the mover started rolling, Korra would make you company almost everyday of filming, cheering for you after the director would yell 'cut!', sitting next to you to talk about either the scenes or anything else to keep you mind off the set when you'd get nervous about next filming scene. She would help you with firebending moves in your trailer after getting ready and a kiss of good luck was given each time you would go back in front of the camera.
It was clear that Korra supported your new career, she always had your back even a couple of years back before starting dating she would always look after you. The avatar was the best thing to ever happen to you, you would always think to yourself everytime you looked at her, there wasn't any question about how the love felt was strong and reciprocated for both of you.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “CUT!” the man yelled, satisfied with how the fighting scene went. You let out a sigh of relief while resting your hands on your knees to catch your breath. “One second, fire lady, I just need to check something.”
Korra took advantage of the distraction to walk to you, she hugged you by the back once you straightening back up. “You were amazing, miss fire lady, you should do those fighting moves with me.” she said giving you a tiny kiss on your shoulder, you laughed at her comment.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I would, if someone didn't cheat with her bending techniques.” you turned to face her with a smile, your arms rested on her shoulders. Now it was her turn to laugh before a soft kiss was exchanged between the two of you.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “HEY! STOP MESSING MY FIRE LADY'S MAKE-UP!” Varrick yelled with his director megaphone, making her step away from you with her hands held up to her shoulders height, you were laughing. “That's what I thought. Let's go! We need to have the next scene by today!”
After the mover was done, Korra and you had time again for yourselves. Everything seemed to be going great, you never knew a tiny snippet of the mover was transmitted on TV... Okay, well, at least you didn't knew the first days until one day you were stopped by a group of three girls calling you by your character's name and saying how cool the sneak peek was, that same day you went home to Korra and ran to the TV.
The avatar was confused when you stood around fifteen minutes in front of the television, until she heard your voice with a almost static sound, it made her turn around to look.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “No fucking way... It's you!” she exclaimed excited, sitting by your side almost pushing you out of the way to appreciate how gorgeous you looked in the traditional fire nation dress. “You look so sexy there.”
Your face started to feel hot at the comment, you were able to just giggle and cover your face. Korra turned to you and tackle you to the floor completely to hug you.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “My girlfriend is a mover star.” she said moving your hands off your face to start leaving ephemeral kisses all over it.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Korra, stop!” you said in between laughs, but never pushed her away, you liked when she was affectionate with you.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Uh-uh! We're going to celebrate this!” she stood up with such quickness that if you tried it would likely cause dizziness. “Dinner's on me.” the girl extended her hand to you so you could get up.
Both of you went on an express dinner, having two to three bowls of noodles each and regretting eating so much was how you were making your way back home.
So there you were, walking side by side and talking about all the topics that would come to mind until you were stopped by two girls. Excited they were asking you for a photo, a man with a gigant camera was behind them, you looked at Korra and she just smiled before taking a step to the side, the picture was taken and a couple of compliments were said before they left giggling in murmurs.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I think I can't get use to that.” you said looking to hold her hand, she embrace the action and with her free hand cupped your face.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You will, mover star.” a sweet kiss from her was what made you feel better, after distancing she started to walk again. “Let's go home, baby, I think I will explode now.”
After the mover was released, the things just escalated. Now you were stopped almost at every corner, most of the times you didn't mind, but when you were out with your friends or girlfriend you felt as it was too much.
You thought that maybe by the third week it would've calm down since the hype for the mover was starting to dissolve, at least that was before you were stopped by a group of five girls while Korra and you were just walking in the park to pass time with each other after the things calmed down.
They all gathered around you, making the waterbender take a few steps back without her taking the initiative. They were all talking at the same time about the mover, how pretty you looked, how you were even more beautiful in real life and how the fire nation's color suit you better.
You were trying to keep up with everyone, feeling how your right arm got hugged and a head rested upon your shoulder, you didn’t know how to stop them, so you just stayed there smiling awkwardly. When you looked up to ask for your girlfriend's help, you noticed how she wasn't in front of you, desperately your eyes looked for her finding her silhouette walking away, way too far for her to hear you if you called her name.
A bad mouth taste was what you had, smiling forcefully at the girls to be kind to them. You signed whatever they wanted you to sign, took photos and got overwhelmed with the flash, but after a couple of minutes they let you go when you used the excuse that you had to head home before it got dark.
You knew Korra enough to recognize what had happened, before going home you went to a flower shop and bought the perfect bouquet for her: her and your favorite flowers. Walking into the apartment you didn't see her at the living room nor the dinner room when you left your keys on the table so you went directly to the bedroom where you saw the southerner looking out of the window.
With your free hand you knocked on the door. “Tulips and water lilies delivery.” you said with a tiny smile when she looked at you, her eyes just went back to the window.
You sighed and carefully left the flowers on the bed before sitting next to her in the couch.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I know something's bothering you...” you started, trying to look for her gaze. “Are you not going to talk to me?”
The Avatar licked her lips, thinking before looking at you. “It's... It's silly, leave it.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “It's not silly if it bothers you.” She hugged her knees and look down. “Korra...”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “It's just that they were all over you,” she spat suddenly, making you nod. “And I know it shouldn't bother me because you are with me, but it seemed that they didn’t respect that and wanted you for them anyways. You should've seen how they were looking at you, the girl hugging you was the worse.”
One of your hands rested in her arm and left caresses while hearing her, you were glad to have clear communication with your girlfriend.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'm sorry, my love, I should've set boundaries.” you said, the girl looked back at you. “You don't have to worry about anyone, Korra, I love you and only you. There's not one person in this world who can make me look at any other direction that is not you.”
The heart of the Avatar felt as it was about to leave its place on her body, she moved to sit better and in a quick move catching you off guard her lips met yours in such a familiar manner for the both of you. Korra heard how you sighed and loved the way you melt on the kiss, almost getting on top of you if it wasn’t for how you distanced from her a little bit.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Let me make it up to you.” you murmured over her lips. “Since our spontaneous date was ruined, let me take you out for another date. There's a mover about a romantic comedy that just came out and after we can go for noodles, what do you think?”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “We have a date, darling,” she said, a tiny kiss was left on your lips and she completely separated to stand up. “But no noodles for some time, I still remember the feeling of that other night after eating too much.”
You laughed, copying her by standing up. “No noodles then, we can eat meat.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “My spirits, you have no idea how much I love you.” she said out of breath, her arm hugged you by the shoulders to leave the apartment together.
The mover went by quicker than you two thought, loving the way it turned out. Now you were sitting on a table waiting for the food on a restaurant that closed late, there were groups of friends eating before going dancing, couples who also had a late night date and people who work until late having something to eat before going straight home to rest. You were watching Korra play with her straw.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Maybe I should leave the movers.” the girl started coughing, you were fast to stand up and pat her back a little bit.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I'm okay, I'm okay,” she said hoarsely. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
You made your way back to your seat, a little grimace painted on your face. “You know, since this thing with... fans? seems to be problematic, maybe it's best if I leave it.”
Korra looked for your hands over the table and hold them. “Listen to me, don't let those girls stop you from following your dream.” her eyes were fixated in yours, almost as if she was anxious. “Don't let me stop you either, you're such a great actress with a bright future and it would break my heart to see you waste your talent.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “You really think so?” you bit your bottom lip, nervous.
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “Of couse, my love! You have to be the best actress Republic City has ever seen.” the southerner took your hands and left a kiss on your knuckles. “Besides, I can presume I have a famous girlfriend that way, don't you think?”
You laughed now, Korra smiled at the sound. “As if you're not the fucking Avatar, be serious, Korra.” you breathe in, relaxing a little bit. “I love you. So much.”
‍ ‍ ‍ ‍‍ “I love you even more.” she said, standing to give you a ephemeral kiss on the lips before sitting back down to let the server leave the food on the table.
She knew it was going to be okay, you were following your dream and she was fortunate enough to see you succeed at it, the love was reciprocated and that was all that mattered in the relationship. You had each other.

Binderary 2024 wrap-up
When Binderary started, I hadn't touched any bookbinding since August when I broke my foot. Step one was getting my crafting space cleaned up enough to let me walk through it with crutches.
So my original goal was to get one single book done in the month, with a stretch goal of 4 total books, aka peaceful mode of the challenge.
I finished with seven total books, if you include the leather cover I made for my dnd notebook (which I do, it was complicated.)
Here are all my full books from this month on my shelf
Tumblr media
I'm obviously most proud of my two large projects: the 999 script and the Planescape: Torment novelization. They were both involved typesets, and Torment was an experiment in binding style.
This month was about learning new techniques. From the entire k118 binding style, which I learned mostly from a couple blog posts, @spockandawe's advice, and at the end from the fantastic Binderary workshop on it. Plus I was using a guillotine for the first time, which I'm still getting used to.
And I very impulsively bought a Cricut Maker which arrived halfway through the month (thanks to enabling from Renegade folks and finding a used one for a good price.) So I had to learn entirely from scratch how to use that. My experiences with HTV Foil were BAD, but regular HTV is much easier. I then started working with stencil vinyl and paint, which was its own learning process, but worked pretty well on my leather books.
Meanwhile, I was also going through physical therapy for my foot and went from crutches to being able to walk unsupported in my boot, which is huge progress and made working on books much easier as the month went on. So this Binderary was a big time of growth and progress for me personally.
I also really love that Binderary is February because I get in a real creative slump in winter, and after two months of no creative impulses, Binderary always shocks me into high speed creation in a really nice way.
Thanks and love to everyone involved in planning and running this great event and everyone hanging out in the discord and workshop chats.

As much as I love Young Earth Creationism and other Pseudoscience take down videos I think it's important to recognize what Pseudoscientists and especially in this example, YECs, are trying to accomplish.
They're not actually trying to convince anyone of their stances. They're trying to encourage thought stopping techniques. That's why a lot of them like to say atheism or "evolutionism" is a religion in and of itself. Then they come up with a bunch of fancy sounding talk that resembles real scientific doctrine to make it seem like being an Christian that believes in a Young Earth is the same as being an Atheist that believes in evolution, and that the only thing left to choose which to follow is faith and morality, and the supposed authority of God. "See, look how silly and unsupported their side is. Now we know we're also silly and unsupported but if you don't pick us you're going to burn in hell and live in sin."

Humans edit genes
*Thomas and Xernalia are at a horse race.*
Xernalia: Oh all above-how can we allow these horrible designs to just... exist like that?! They're worse than humans!
Thomas: I dunno, horses were just born like that. We're not gods, we just use what's given to us.
Xernalia: but you do change several animals- what about dogs and crops? You modified those- selectively bred dogs for certain traits and spliced genes in crops. What would be so different about giving horses an actual good body?
Thomas: have you seen pugs?
Xernalia: ...no.
Thomas: yeah, here. This is what humans did with genetic tampering.
Xernalia: What design even is that?!? They're not even able to breathe properly! Their ears are almost completely unsupported! What happened to them?!
Thomas:
Xernalia: human selective breeding.
Thomas: and GMOs have helped companies put more pesticides in our food. So it's probably best we don't tamper with more species right now.
Xernalia: so then why don't you use it for good?
Thomas: well, most people don't think about horses as that important. It would be a waste to use these techniques on horses. And why are you so insistent on this? You're not half as insistent with the human form.
Xernalia: well... it's different between you, a sentient being and horses, a nonsentient being. Plus, you're not dead in the water if you break a majority of your bones.... plus you're just sexy, alright?
Thomas: so... you're not interested in improving my body because you find it sexy?
Xernalia: yeah! I said it- horses's imperfections aren't sexy, but yours are!
Thomas: *laughing* glad to know my raw sex appeal keeps me from being remade by my wife.
Xernalia: well- no- maybe?- actuallyy.... no- yeah.... you're right.

what classical era soprano rep should sound like - vulnerable, resonant and pure tones. now there is an argument to be made for wagnerians and coloraturas (and if u want to - early music) having very different styles, but this is ideal bel canto which should be the technique used for mozart in my opinion, none of that wobbly noncommital (unsupported whining ≠ mezza di voce) modern bs

5 Common Causes of Neck and Shoulder Pain (And How to Relieve Them)
Tumblr media
Neck and shoulder pain are more common than you might think, and they can truly disrupt your daily life. Whether it’s caused by poor sleeping habits or carrying a heavy bag, these everyday actions often lead to discomfort or long-term issues if not addressed. Below, I’ll walk you through five frequent causes of neck and shoulder pain and some effective ways to relieve them— including the benefits of using a Shiatsu neck and shoulder massager and I would recommend the one I use also.
1. Sleeping in Awkward Positions
Getting a good night’s sleep is essential for your overall health, but sometimes you wake up with an aching neck, which can make the rest of the day unpleasant. Poor sleeping positions, like lying on your side with your head twisted or using an unsupportive pillow, can lead to muscle stiffness.
Solution: To avoid this, make sure to sleep on your back or in a position where your head and neck are aligned with your spine. Opt for a supportive pillow that holds your neck in a neutral position. If the stiffness lingers, a Shiatsu neck and shoulder massager can work wonders by loosening tight muscles and improving blood flow helping you recover after a bad night’s sleep.
2. Overhead Work During House Chores
Tasks that involve reaching overhead, like cleaning gutters or painting walls, can strain your neck and shoulders. Holding your head in an awkward, upward-tilted position for extended periods fatigues the muscles and can result in discomfort.
Solution: Take regular breaks and stretch your neck, rotating your head gently from side to side. After completing housework, a snap on shiatsu neck and shoulder massager can be incredibly effective in reducing muscle tension and providing targeted relief to sore areas. These massagers mimic the pressure of a traditional massage, helping to soothe strained muscles and speed up recovery.
3. Lifting Children (Or Heavy Objects) Incorrectly
Whether you’re lifting your child or carrying heavy shopping bags, poor lifting form can wreak havoc on your neck and shoulders. If you bend at the waist instead of the knees, you’re more likely to experience strain that leads to pain.
Solution: The right technique is essential—always bend your knees and keep heavy objects close to your body to avoid stressing your spine. After a strenuous day of lifting, a Shiatsu neck and shoulder massager can be a lifesaver. It kneads the muscles, reducing tightness and helping to relieve the tension that builds up after carrying heavy loads.
4. Poor Posture While Working
Let’s be honest: most of us spend our workdays hunched over a desk, which places a heavy load on our neck and back muscles. Over time, this poor posture can lead to stiffness and chronic discomfort.
Solution: Try to set up your workstation properly, with your computer monitor at eye level, and take standing breaks every hour. Alongside these adjustments, using a Shiatsu neck and shoulder massager can help alleviate the tension caused by poor posture. The deep-tissue action of these massagers, such as the Elpiana Neck and Shoulder Massager, targets stiff muscles and promotes relaxation, making it an excellent tool for office workers dealing with neck and shoulder pain.
5. Carrying Heavy Shoulder Bags
Many of us carry shoulder bags packed with all sorts of essentials. But that heavy load, especially if carried on one side, places stress on the neck and shoulder muscles. Over time, this can result in wear and tear that manifests as pain.
Solution: Switching to a backpack distributes the weight evenly across your back, minimising strain on the neck and shoulders. If backpacks aren’t your style, be sure to switch shoulders frequently and try to reduce the weight of your bag. After a long day, using a Shiatsu neck and shoulder massager can be a great way to unwind and soothe tired muscles. These massagers help relieve pressure points and encourage blood flow, reducing the risk of long-term issues.
The Benefits of Neck and Shoulder Massagers for Pain Relief
Neck and shoulder massagers, especially Shiatsu-style massagers, are fantastic for relieving pain and stiffness. They provide deep tissue pressure, helping to relax the muscles and improve circulation. Whether you're dealing with soreness after a day at the office or muscle fatigue from heavy lifting, a neck and shoulder massager can offer soothing relief without the need for frequent physio appointments.
Conclusion:
Neck and shoulder pain are often caused by everyday habits that we might overlook. Simple changes—such as improving your posture, lifting objects correctly, and ensuring you sleep in a supported position—can prevent discomfort. Additionally, Shiatsu neck and shoulder massagers provide an excellent, non-invasive way to alleviate pain and muscle tension. With devices like the Elpiana Neck and Shoulder Massager, you can target pain points, reduce stiffness, and promote overall muscle recovery.

Bigfoot and Anthropology
The sasquatch is a supposed mythical creature largely associated with North American culture. It is a big, hairy, bipedal creature that has captivated popular attention and generated controversy in scholarly circles, especially anthropology. You can learn a lot about cultural narratives, human belief systems, and the nature of evidence and scientific research through Bigfoot mythology and anthropology. Anthropology, or the study of humans and their communities, offers a variety of perspectives for analyzing the Bigfoot issue. Cultural anthropology examines Bigfoot's place in modern culture and legend. Many cultures use stories about big, enigmatic creatures to express hopes and concerns, as well as to explain the unknown. Native American communities in North America have long told stories about "forest giants" or "wild men," which some experts believe are the earliest examples of Bigfoot mythology. These narratives, which represent the ideals and concerns of the societies that tell them, frequently function as moral tales or provide an explanation for natural phenomena.
Tumblr media
One may consider Bigfoot's place in contemporary culture as a continuation of these old stories. The animal has come to represent the untamed and wild sides of nature, in opposition to the contemporary world that is encroaching on them. Bigfoot's widespread sightings and media appearances, such as documentaries and souvenirs, demonstrate the creature's popularity and the fascination humans have with the mysterious. The anthropological concept of liminality helps to explain this obsession because Bigfoot inhabits the margins, both literally and conceptually, representing the area between the known and the unknown, as well as the real and the unreal. Physical anthropology, the study of human biology and physiology, offers a different perspective on Bigfoot. Advocates for Bigfoot's existence contend that the creature may be a hominid remnant, a living representative of a species long thought extinct, like Gigantopithecus. According to this concept, Bigfoot is a real biological creature that has eluded contemporary science's efforts to identify and categorize it. However, this theory faces numerous challenges, the most significant of which is the lack of concrete evidence. Despite numerous sightings and purported encounters, the reality of Bigfoot remains unsupported by solid physical evidence such as bones, bodies, or DNA. People frequently attribute Bigfoot sightings to misidentified animals like bears or psychological problems like pareidolia, a condition that causes people to see patterns like faces in random stimuli. In general, the scientific world views Bigfoot as a myth or a case of mistaken identity. This mistrust is rooted in the foundations of scientific investigation, which require solid evidence and reproducibility. However, an anthropological investigation into these stories aids in understanding the reasons behind individuals' belief in Bigfoot and its transmission within the community. It elucidates how folklore adapts to modern environments and how modern media can amplify and spread these tales.
Tumblr media
The social dynamics underlying Bigfoot research and belief are another area of study for anthropologists. The group of Bigfoot aficionados, investigators, and cryptozoologists constitutes a subculture with distinct standards, principles, and techniques for verifying information. This subculture sometimes works in opposition to traditional scientific organizations, but more often than not, it operates alongside them. Researching this group sheds light on how marginalized knowledge systems operate and deal with authority and legitimacy in a larger cultural context. In conclusion, anthropological research on Bigfoot tells us more about human society, psychology, and culture than it does about the existence of a fabled monster. Bigfoot serves as a focal point for exploring people's interactions with the mysterious and unknown, the evolution of folklore, and the creation and preservation of belief systems. Even if Bigfoot's actual existence is still up for debate, there is no denying that the creature has had a profound influence on human culture and how we perceive the world.

#15 you are cringe until you are successful.
a lot of people hate when you are on your own journey
people will not support you until you benefit them.
this is exactly why you should just focus on yourself & do what YOU want.
how to focus when you are on your own journey?
🧠🧠 practice mindfulness: use mindfulness techniques to stay present and centered, which can help you avoid distractions and maintain focus.
💞💞 develop good habits: establish positive habits, like waking up early, exercising regularly, or practicing gratitude, to support your overall focus and well-being.
🫧🫧 embrace failure: recognise that setbacks and failures are a natural part of the journey, and use them as opportunities to learn and grow.
⭐️⭐️ maintain a growth mindset: adopt a growth mindset, believing that your skills and abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, to help you stay motivated and focused.
how to overcome lack of support from others?
💐💐 acceptance: recognise that not everyone will support you, and that's okay. focus on accepting this reality, rather than trying to change others' opinions.
🎀🎀 self-validation: learn to validate and celebrate your own successes and progress, rather than relying on external validation from others.
🫧🫧 find your motivation: identify your internal motivation and reasons for pursuing your journey, and remind yourself of these when facing a lack of support.
💘💘 protect your energy: establish boundaries and limit your exposure to negative or unsupportive people to preserve your energy and focus.
thank you for reading :)

What about the vocals is bad in your opinion? I’m just asking bc I know nothing about singing techniques and it sounds fine to my untrained ears- how is it different from before?
It's been progressively(?) getting worse(?) or just,, different for a while to be honest, its not that noticeable in the title track but basically when she attempts to belt it comes out really nasally and unsupported and its mildly painful to listen to. Her normal chest voice is actually really nice especially in the lower octaves and I even like her falsetto, but someone has instilled a really bad habit in her (and in a couple other members too but most noticeably w Jinsoul to me) where all the power for hitting high notes is placed in her sinuses and its just not nice to listen to. It actually wasn't as noticeable as I thought it would be based on the highlight medley though, turns out its way easier to ignore than I expected

“Aim For The Heart”: Campaign Updates and Spotlights on Artist Jennifer Smith and Author R. L. Houck
The campaign to fund Aim For The Heart: Queer Fanworks Inspired by Alexandre Dumas’s “The Three Musketeers” is now halfway done and going strong! For those not super familiar with how campaigns go, usually the bulk of funding comes in during the first 48 hours and the last 48 hours of the campaign. I personally usually look to see us at 50% funded by the end of the first 48 hours; if we hit that metric then I can say with a fair degree of confidence that we’ll reach our goal. This campaign did hit that, handily, and now with 15 days left, we’re only $750 shy of our goal! While I’m not hosting any parades yet, as I check in midway through our campaign…we’re doing great.
A huge, HUGE thank you to everyone who has backed so far, and also to everyone who has helped spread the word about the campaign. Word of mouth is 10000% the most effective way to help people find out this project exists and get them interested in buying the anthology; we’d never get to the goal without our supporters, and we’d never get there without every person who says, “hey, have you seen this?” Y’all rock. We love that we get to bring you awesome books.
Anyway, on to today’s contributor spotlights!

Allergy Girl and the Hate Arrangement by R. L. Houck
About the Author: R. L. Houck (she/her) still has one of the first stories she ever wrote, all the way back from elementary school. It was about flightless penguins reaching the sun and was a good indication of her boundless imagination and her love of animals. The latter became a full-time veterinary career; the former keeps her occupied with fanfiction and original fiction in her downtime.
She’s sometimes found wandering the woods around her house in Virginia with her dog. If not there, she’s sitting on the couch, catching up on a Netflix series, and smothered by her five cats. Sometimes, there’s even space for her wife.

Story Teaser:
“Oh, no! Mom’s been very supportive of me being trans. I just meant the name change. For an English lit professor, she has a real hard-on against Shakespeare,” Portia said. “It was one of the main reasons I chose the name.”
Christa didn’t want to bring the conversation down by discussing unsupportive parents of LGBTQA+ kids. Instead, she jumped on the mention of Shakespeare. “Well, Portia was a kick-ass character too,” Christa said.
“Right? Thank you!”
“You’re quite welcome. Oh! Phoenix! Is that why you chose the tattoo? Never mind, you don’t have to answer that. I apologize—I’m being super nosy,” Christa said, immediately backtracking.
Portia laughed. “You’re fine. That is exactly why I chose the phoenix: rebirth. And those pictures are sent; tell me what you think.”
A few seconds later, Christa got a text message from an unknown number. She opened it to see a gorgeous flower arrangement shown in several pictures taken from multiple angles.
“Wow. This is beautiful,” Christa said, voice faint from awe. “Are you sure this says, ‘I hate your guts and wish abstract misery upon you for the rest of your natural existence’ in flower language?”
“…in so many words, yes,” Portia said, sounding amused.
Tags: allergies, attraction at first sight, character has a different gender than in the source material, customer service representative, deadnaming (accidental), f/f, florist, getting together, the language of flowers, meet awkward, modern, past tense, pining, pov third person limited, siblings, tattoo, triplets, trans
We’ve already raised $7,250 to fund this anthology, and we’re 90% of the way to our goal. Come see what all the fuss is about, and help us spread the word by sharing today’s awesome teasers or any of our past posts!

Okay I’m going to see Barbie today so I should probably have my misc thoughts on Across the Spiderverse down. (Spoilers incoming) Speaking of:
#1) tiktok spoilers my beloathed. They also don’t do the movie justice (I’ll get back to that)
#2) artistic styles my beloved.
The love and care to the craft of the story is so evident from the start. Gwen’s retelling of Mike’s story is in her universe’s watercolor style. And oh my god it’s so beautiful. I’m such a sucker for pretty watercolors and Gwen’s universe SPEAKS to my soul. Beautiful. Mwuah.
Speaking of Gwen, the analogy of her being trans and coming out is definitely there. While her being trans may not be a problem for her father, her struggle with a secret superhero identity absolutely is a parallel to being a trans kid. Her best friend knowing included. Her running away from home especially.
And it’s beautifully portrayed. And her father’s arc developing at the end, where he says he’s no longer a policeman if it’s gonna be that at odd with her being a hero because he loves her more than that, is the kinda sentiment I and every other trans kid with unsupportive parents wish they had. It’s about growth, it’s about the person being the priority not a stubborn hold to flawed ideology.
#3 Miles my boy, his story is definitely that of loneliness. Which arguably is queer-coded in of itself. He finally finds his people and now they’re separated and he misses that. Especially since the separation is inherently tied to the safety of everyone, sometimes it’s really hard to connect with other queer folk because of that. But i don’t think that’s the intended focus, it’s more of a coming of age thing.
Also holy shit he is YOUNG. He is fifteen!! I was a freshman in highschool when I turned fifteen! No wonder he’s so pissed when everyone is telling him what to do and how to do, that is like the quintessential age of being treated like both an adult and child and it’s infuriating. But it’s the perfect age for this kinda story. Because the very valid attempts of trying to find a happy middle are there, two cakes and all. But it also means it’s still the first few attempts, hence the fate of the two cakes. The technique is still being refined and he’s still figuring out his priorities.
Do what he’s good at (science) and push for something he really wants (his friends back) or something else entirely?
People have pointed out he’s incredibly artistic. And it’s good! Now that doesn’t always means it translates into a career well. From firsthand experience I can tell you art as an outlet isn’t the same as art as a career. It’s kinda kicking my butt with the difference. But that doesn’t mean it’s a very real option! And something he can pursue with science as well.
Adjacent to three: the age discourse. Now I heard plenty on it but I was withholding my judgement until I saw the movie itself. That being said, when I first saw spoilers Hobie read like an adult and after watching the movie he is definitely is in my mind.
The three other spiders (Gwen, Miles, Pravitar) all have a focus of actively being in school in their intros. A highlight that they are still teens dealing with teen issues and mentalities. Hobie doesn’t. Hobie’s intro doesn’t mention school. Hobie’s intro talks a lot about politics and ideologies and he carries himself like an experienced adult. (Obvs teens are into politics and all that, i did that as a teen too, but school often comes before that, just as their own intros mentioned.) He speaks with wisdom and experience and takes the others under his wing. He’s also not deferring to Miguel. And he pushes back in a much different way then Gwen and Miles do. For them, even if they don’t agree Miguel is still an adult and that age authority needs to be respected. For Hobie, it doesn’t seem to be a concern. (Yes yes he’s a punk, but respecting your elders is still prevalent in punk and queer cultures as well.)
“But Integrity the love triangle!” There is no love triangle. Gwen is not interested in Hobie, she’s expressly interested in Miles. Looks up to Hobie sure, but she’s clearly more attached to Miles. Hobie also explicitly states he just wants to look out for her. (Re: queer adults taking in queer runaways)
“But Integrity the toothbrush and jumper! And Pravitar going oooohh!!” First of all, Gwen is functionally homeless. She ran away and has been a runaway for literal months. Her stuff is obviously gonna be a mismanaged. And again, going with the fact that her story is a trans allegory, she’s going to stay with adults that take her in. First Miguel and Jessica, and then Hobie. Reading Hobie as a queer adult taking in a queer runaway child and looking after her makes the most sense to me. She also had an expressed interest in Miles that is very long running.
As for Pravitar? I think he’s just pot stirring. He’s (I think) the youngest and definitely acts like it. He’s openly treating them as a soap opera, not with an malicious intent of course, but it’s entertaining gossip for him. A fun tense twist is the fact that Miles doesn’t know. (Probably because he didn’t recognize miles as the anomaly. Genuinely was introduced that Miles is Gwen’s friend and so it’s wild he doesn’t know her closest friends.)
Also: there’s a chance this is suppose to parallel Gwen meeting Mile’s parents.
Your crush should know about and have met your family. For Mile’s that means meeting his parents. For Gwen that means her family of spiders. (She’s trans, found family is a huge priority here esp since her father is not currently in the picture.)
Anyways: Hobie reads as an adult. Gwen is not in a love triangle. I’m scared of touching ao3 for this fandom, even with filters it’s Bad.
#4 with circling back to how the tiktok spoilers/general fanon don’t do this justice, Miguel. He’s is not that fucking mean to Miles. He is genuinely sympathetic and does try to explain to Miles multiple times what “needs” to be done. His fatal flaw is that he carries so much guilt for what happened in the universe he infiltrated that he now feels the need to carry the weight of everything to make up for it. He says as much! If he could see it possible to have a good story, he’d love that but its just not possible for him.
Now granted, holy shit he does go fucking bonkers on Miles. We see the shock in Peter B’s expression. I do not think that is the norm for Miguel’s behavior. At least, not witnessed behavior and thus not behavior he wants to be seen/is proud of. Dude seems like he’s holding on by a thread and it was snapping a little bit there. And like, idek if I can fault that entirely cuz a literal child just sent him on the chase of a the century. Dude’s stressed and not coping well. Amazingly sympathetic antagonist for this reason. It’s an idealogical divide, a quite radical one at that.
#5) the music is sooooo fucking good. Again, the love put into this movie is so palpable.
#6) The Spot. I adore his character!!! I adore this arc and his art direction and his everything!! And I don’t currently have the words for it but I do feel his story is a good analogy for how society picks and chooses it’s outliers. Spider-Man is a hero and loved for his mutations provided he’s a hero and even then it’s very conditional and on a whim. The Spot isn’t. He can’t get a job looking like that, and super heroism is filled in New York by Spider-Man and it’s hard to exist let alone move around looking like that.
There is no support for him. And that speaks for any outlier of society. Queer, race, neurodivergent, “ugly”, and what have you. It’s only natural he gets upset. He lashes out at the easiest person to blame, the present Spider-Man. Even though it is not Mile’s fault he was in that room or employed there, or any of that. But he was a catalyst, and it’s easier to have the blame one person than a web of circumstances.
And there’s a kinship in a way. He brought the 42 spider here. He was bitten by it. Whether they like or hate each other that’s a helluva link. Call it dominos or butterfly effect or fate or what have you, there’s a link to both of their circumstances.
Speaking of, #6) 42 Miles!!!! I adore him. It seems in this universe the lack of a Spider-Man has caused crime cartels to run more rampant. Possibly supervillain run, but I can see overtime the general crime running rampant under them.
I wanna know this timeline, how this has happened. What was this descent? I’m so excited for Beyond. And obvs 42 Miles is gonna play a huge part. I think he will aid our Miles, even if at first begrudgingly. He’s a scared kid and he and Aaron see that. I hope and think they will take pity on him.
I’m wondering if 42’s arc will parallel our Mile’s. Trying to sort priorities and manage grief and loneliness while writing your own path. I bet it will.
Speaking of Beyond: I hope it takes years to make. Give those artists a break and pay them and give them a reasonably timetable damn it. I also hope for more Hobie he’s a catalyst here and I want to see lots of him and he needs dedicated time to animate to achieve that.
Okay misc thoughts done I gotta get ready fkdndkdndn
