It's finally done!! My first bookbinding project!

I got the idea when I saw "Turning Fanfiction into the Hardcover Book it Deserves" by Jess Less on youtube. I used several other videos as cross-reference for instructions but this one really inspired me and I wanted to do it myself!

Around this time, I had started to reread one Valley Of Serenity by @lnterjection aloud to my mom. I really loved this fanfiction and I thought it deserved it, so here it is!

I got the map originally from the end of chapter 60 where I then took a map of Europe and then edited it till it looked about right.

Overall it's not perfect, but I'm really happy with it! The pleather got a little worn and the heat-transfer vinyl gave plenty of trouble too. I kinda like it though, makes it feel almost like it was made in the same setting as the book.

There is one straight-up mistake though. I wonder if anyone will notice. I'll give ya a hint, it's on the front cover!

At first I thought the Toymaker’s “too many teeth” reveal was meant to be an uncanny valley effect; a personification of something that isn’t human pretending to be human. Like an AI image that doesn’t wholly complete its replica of a person, despite its efforts. And maybe that truly is what it’s meant to be for us.

But then I remembered that The Master became one of these teeth by LOSING A GAME to the Toymaker. This carries the implication that the Toymaker may have Too Many Teeth because his mouth is full of TROPHIES OF HIS DEFEATED ENEMIES.

I gotta admit, I used to hate Shane a lot when I first started playing be he was so mean. BUT, you just gotta befriend the sad chicken man!!! Trust!!!

Book stared out of the viewing window, his heart sinking at the sight of the busy space port.

"Uranium fever," he whispered, his voice lost in the noise.

Mal joined him in front of the window. He grinned humorously.

"Sad, ain't it?"

The Shepherd glanced at him, frowning.

"That most of 'em won't leave ever again," Mal elaborated, his eyes dark.

"Their Serenity Valley," Book added quietly, ignoring the way the Captain tensed.

Both men stood in silence, each lost in their own thoughts and memories.

When we bought the house, the dry shady areas in the back were sparse with only a bit of periwinkle growing. All this was made worse by the debris from the roofers, equipment, and heavy traffic in those areas. After the work was done, I began planting bare-root plants (all I could afford). Fast forward nearly a decade, and the back shade gardens have taken on new life. The back of the house is quite different from the sunny front. The lush foliage weaves a tapestry of textures and shades which is very serene. Delicate ferns, bold hostas, whimsical pulmonaria, and hard-working lily of the valley, offer a diverse range of leaf shapes and patterns, creating a visual symphony. If you only have a shady area, don't despair. There are many glorious plants that work in these conditions. I find that hostas thrive in even dry shade, so don't believe the hype that they need a lot of moisture. They don't. Mine are happy in the worst dry compacted clay imaginable. Lily of the valley spreads quite well, so do ferns, epimediums, astilbe, and pulmonaria. Astilbe and heuchera will need a bit more moisture.

OMG HELLO CHERNY THE BELOVED!!! omg….i’ve already rambled about fallen angel ash and red in the discord so ^_^ gonna be talking about my thoughts abt lifesteal and embroidery!!

basically, i hc that although every single ls member can sew, but more complex stuff like pattern making (or doing anything that isn’t basic hand sewing for basic repairs LOL) varies wildly between each member. as a result, embroidery on clothing and patches would be a huge sign of dedication and loyalty because t shows that you took time out of your day to make something for the other person, and that usually means you’ll do other things for them as well ^_^ like. cool sign of loyalty that u can show off visually. so its fun to hc what alliances have what patches and who made them!!

anyways because i’m #biased i also hc that the more hearts and resources you have, the more time you have to dedicate to things that aren’t resources or getting hearts ^_^ so id imagine the brim of reds hat is full of embroidery from himself (and there’s a purple rose that’s noticeably out of style in comparison to the rest of the hat, but red doesnt draw much attention to it. usually)

So glad the Helios outfit from Dollremi fit this body so well! I just had the shorten the sleeves a bit. Usagi's princess dress is made by me. Is it well made? No. It's totally shoddily put together but it looks great from the outside and that's all that matters
