Scout, Pauling, and Ludwig are the main three- scout, who’s an (admittedly shitty) airbender but not the avatar, who ran away after his father left. Once spotted by fire nation soldiers, he is presumed to be the avatar- and scout basks in the glory of his false identity. Pauling- a studious, too serious for her own good, non-bender, who’s Medic’s student. She’s of the southern water tribe, treating medic like her paternal figure after the disappearance of her aunt. Medic is (unbeknownst to pauling and scout) a blood bender who was exiled for his practices. He doesn’t seem to care for anyone or anything, also being very jovial and cheery.

All Pauling and Scout know is that Ludwig was exiled from the northern water tribe then fled to the south for an undisclosed reason. Pauling never bothered to pry and the Scout was too intimidated to. Here the avatar cycle has indeed been broken. It’s up to a group of nine ragtag men and one mousy girl to defeat Gray Mann.

And the main three villains are soldier, demo, and sniper who're all fire nation folk. Sort of the team rocket; never truly competent enough to cause real damage, that or their hearts truly aren’t in it.

Soldier's a fire bender who specializes in jet propulsion and was kicked out of the army. He thinks if he steals back the avatar, they'll let him back in. A weapon since childhood, once a bully, always a bully, or so he’s heard.Character arc being the realization the fire nation army isn't worth fighting for. Surprisingly, he is very good with spirits, opposite to his best friend, Tavish, who despises them.

Demo’s just trying to impress his mum and be a good friend to the Soldier. People pleasing tendencies, that's his character arc. He's supposedly a non bender who's mighty good with swords; but underneath his inconspicuous-ish eye patch holds a combustion bending tattoo. Only Jane knows this. Well-versed in calligraphy.

Sniper is a 26 year old yuyan archer who was discharged for failing a mission while he was young. He joined the other two with the same goal as the Soldier. His yuyan archer tattoo still remains. He's a non bender with excellent aim, who grew up on the rural outskirts of the fire nation. His character arc is something about not adhering to expectations and learning who he's fighting for; a combination of the demoman and the soldier’s lessons.

Spy's a crusty airbender constantly sporting a mask to hide his tattoos, and knife. Nobody has a clue where he's from and he takes orders from whoever pays him best. His airbending tricks are so subtle, the public believes him to be a crafty nonbender. Usually said tricks are only invisibility and voice alteration. While not assassinating political figures he traverses the spirit world looking for his wife, a fellow air nomad, avoiding physical aging in brief sprints of time. He returns on a well paid mission to kill the “avatar,” which was presumably the scout. Little does he know, that weird whiteboy is just some lame airbender. Who’s also his son. His bad.

Engineers the metalbender; an art perfected by his ancestors and passed down in whispers to him. I haven't developed him much. He teaches the Scout what he knows while obscuring information on how he got that metal arm. Him and the Pyro have a shared love of blacksmithing. From an explosion, he thinks..

Pyro's a spirit probably. Nobody knows what he is. Where he’s from? Pyro. What’s his gender? Pyro. Guy who sets things on fire. Presumably human judging by his questionable use of what looks to be fire bending. And also the Spy's companion! They met in the spirit world. He and the Soldier form a close bond quite quickly thanks to their good graces with spirits (to Tavish’s immense dismay).

Heavy's an earth bender who continues to win in underground fights. Residing in ba sing se with his three sisters and elderly mother, scout pauling and medic meet him in an earth bender championship. Despite what his appearance suggests, his patience is unmatched, which is his greatest strength. He has near -perfect seismic sense. He and the Medic get on quite well, and after the fire lord has been struck down, form a duo in the ring, earning even more won championships.

It was a beautiful day in San Diego, and a rarity that the Dagger Squad had not a single thing going on. It was Rooster who had sent out the text message about meeting at the beach by the Hard Deck for a game of Dogfight football, their new favorite sport to play. You weren't going to pass up the opportunity to get a tan and watch your favorite aviator run around half naked with sweat dripping down his perfect body.

The beach wasn't that crowded when you and Jake arrived. He decided to take his jeep today, taking the sides off of it to soak up the rays. You made a joke that he didn't need anymore things going to his head, his ego was big enough. He carried the beach bag down to the area that the rest of the team was at.

"Oh, is Y/N finally going to be playing today?" Javy joked, putting his arm around you.

"Does it look like I'm a going to be playing?" You asked, "I'm not sure what possess all of you to want to run around in the hot sun and tackle each other, but I will be enjoying it from over. . . there," you pointed towards a spot a little ways away from where the daggers were.

"You can join when you want," Jake said, hitting Javy's arm off of you, and putting his around your waist, bringing you in for a kiss, "Although, I'd love to see your sweaty body-" His hand went to your ass squeezing it. You squealed and slapped his chest before walking away from him.

Jake watched as you grabbed your beach towel from the bag, and laid it out on the sand. You could feel his eyes on you as you undid you jean shorts and pulled them down your legs. Jake was trying to think of anything and everything besides how good your body looked right now. He wasn't sure what swim suit you put on, but he was expecting a cheetah print two piece that hardly hid anything.

"Enough eye fucking!" Rooster yelled and threw the football at Jake's head. Jake winced as the ball hit him.

"Oh, it's on Bradshaw!" Jake yelled and threw the ball back.

You weren't paying an ounce of attention as the Daggers were deeply versed into their game. Occasionally you'd look up when you heard loud cheering and would see one of them peacocking around. You rolled your eyes a couple times at Jake who was putting on one hell of a show. He looked great, his tan, toned abs glistening with sweat and water. He knew that you were looking at him, and made sure to flex a bit for you.

"Two can play this game, Seresin," You said to yourself.

You were laying on your front, and you knew the perfect way to get Jake's attention. You whistled as you adjusted a bit, your fingers going to the strings behind your back. With ease, you tugged the tie and felt your top loosen. You giggled to yourself as the top fell down your arms and landed on the towel. Your chest was still covered with the way you were laying and holding your book in front of you.

Jake hadn't notice your little costume change, as he was too focused on the game. They daggers took a break, catching their breaths, some of the running towards the water to cool down, others grabbing bottles of water from a cooler Payback brought.

"God damn, Bagman, your ol' lady is fine," Fanboy said, and Payback smacked him upside the head, "What!? She is! Look at her."

"I know my girl is hot," Jake said, a smirk on his face as he drank his water, "I don't need you to me-" He turned around and looked where you were laying at, "What in the hell is she doing?"

"By the looks of it, sunbathing," Bob said and Jake glared at him.

You weren't paying attention, hearing the sounds of Alanis Morissette's 'You Oughta Know' blaring in your ears as you flipped through the pages of your book. You did notice the sudden shade looking over you, and you tilted your head up to see your boyfriend standing over you.

"Hi sweetheart," You smiled.

Jake gave you a fake smile as he laid down in the sand next to you, "What do you think you're doing?"

"Getting some sun," You said, and stretched your arms out in front of you. Jake quickly grabbed a spare towel and threw it over your head, "What are you doing!?" You giggled.

"Stopping you from flashing what's mine to all of North Island," Jake said.

You lifted your head from the towel and looked at Jake, "Yours, huh?"

Jake nodded and climbed on top of your back. You grunted dramatically and Jake rolled his eyes. He held himself up with his hands and leaned down, gently placing a kiss on your bare shoulder.

"Yes, mine," Jake growled in your ear, "You're mine , understand? Mine!"

You somehow maneuvered yourself so you were now on your back, the towel and Jake's body covering your chest. You ran a hand down his sweaty torso.

"You're funny if you think we're making it that far," Jake said. You squealed and clutched the towel tightly as Jake picked you and your swimsuit top up. He put you over his shoulder and you giggled as he carried you towards his truck.

"I would say so," Bob shrugged, and then tossed the football to Rooster, "Round 2?"

OMG wow my first ever ask! Ngl this has inspired me to write one for each of the boys, but Anon this one is for you! Hope you and everyone enjoy and once again a special thanks to @l-lend and @kelpiesummer for throwing ideas at me XD.

Now both your and Konig’s first meeting is the farthest thing from perfect, and remember when I said you literally barged into his life? I was being serious.

Now I’m just gonna say that you're secretly an Omega, but in order to get higher paying and government related jobs (cause that’s where the money is at) you cannot be anything less than a Beta. To safeguard your identity you have both high end scent patches and pill suppressants.

And after making sure no one could tell what your true second gender was, you applied to become a part of a Rut Retrieval Team. Your assigned member? The Austrian Apex known as König. But what you didn’t know about this supposedly dangerous second gender, was that even the least sensitive apex could still pick up on what you were even with patches and suppressants.

Now your team are the only people who can handle him after he’s coming down after a rut, primarily because many think he would be extremely dangerous. So after being dispatched somewhere in Spain, your team finally finds him while he’s still both coming off his rut and the excessive amounts of adrenaline. He was showing signs that he didn’t really want the team there but made no moves to act.

But when someone reached for him, he grabbed the much smaller beta male and practically threw him before attempting to pummel the poor guy. And in order to protect your teammate, you barrel into the apex and attempt to wrap your arms around his neck to make him stop. One main way to calm down an apex would be with a heavily scented pad that had an omegas heat scent doused into it. But before you could apply it, he grabbed your wrist and pressed his nose to your covered scent gland instead before quickly letting go.

The scent that washed over him was much stronger than could have ever been on the cloth, but once he realized there was a scent patch there he dropped your wrist like it practically burned him. You both didn’t move after that but your gazes were locked almost like a trance.

Thankfully your team didn’t catch this interaction between the two of you, as they were more focused on the beta on the ground. But once they see how he’s decently calm, they begin moving him to evac to get him back to the KorTac base. Your team didn’t desire to be anywhere near him after his earlier display so you end up being voluntold to secure him while your team is on security outside the helicopter.

König hadn’t said anything during the duration of his retrieval, he was completely silent but all he did was just keep a watchful gaze as you strapped him in. His gaze wasn’t broken until you had brought that dreaded muzzle into his view, he zeroed in on it and without a single thought he had asked “Your an Omega aren’t you?”. To König it was more of a shot in the dark, and wasn't fully expecting you to answer him.

It wasn’t until he had looked up and froze, your eyes were wide from under your mask; the fear was evident. Your grip on the muzzle tightened and the instinctive urge to get away from him was starting to take over. But before you could fully take a step back he had moved, yanking the muzzle from your grasp and had tightened it before you could blink. He had practically shrunk in on himself and made no move to look at you, even though it had no change on his height or mass for someone of his massive size. The poor guy didn’t want to scare you, and make him seem like the monster so many make him out to be.

It was odd to say the least. You had been told that Apexes were demanding and took whatever they wanted whenever. But this odd apex has only become more interesting to you in just a short amount of time. It wasn’t until he had looked in your direction and muttered a “Don’t worry your secret's safe with me, Ich verspreche es dir~.” That you had decided to try and get to know this enigma of a man much better. And you definitely never looked back after that chance encounter.

PLAYBOYY the series is a +18 BL series, directed and produced by Chewin Thanamin and screenwritten by Den Panuwat under Copy A Bangkok. Is set to come out November 16th 2023.

The series explores human interaction and its consequences through sex with themes such as escort sex-trade, illegal pornography, online hook-ups for drugs, covert prostitution and sex-love revenge, all to expose human’s darkest nature.

The MAIN PLOT (yes, it has a plot, is not just porn) of the series focuses on the disappearance of Nant, a 3rd year student at P.B. University who, inadvertently to his friends Zouy and First, started to get involved in the nightlife of Bangkok: buying services, having sex with strangers, getting involved in clips, getting involved in drugs... all of this until he went missing. Both friends, teaming up with Nont, Nant’s twin brother, are now set to find out what happened to Nant and where he, or his body, might be.

He’s the youngest of the twins. When their parents separated, Nant stayed with their mother, which made him grow into a gentle and sensitive young man, loving towards his friends and fairly cordial to people… But the "perfect nice boy" life made him miserable. Unknown to everyone, Nant started to get involved in the nightlife of Bangkok until he eventually went missing.

He'll get his little borhter back, any means necessary.

Just like Nant, Zouy is also a 3rd year student at P.B. University, at the faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, although he’s majoring in Fine Arts. He’s described to be laconic but with a hard punch. Never trust a sweet face, I guess. He’s fascinated by human beauty and erotica: “ Sex has been a beautiful thing for the human race in every age and period of history “ - Zouy in the foreplay video, now forever lost u_u Due to his more shy nature, Zouy has been more of an outsider to romantic and sexual relationships, which makes him curious but also afraid of them. Poor Little Rich Boi™ ( a bop of a song, go listen to it) Maybe is this lack of freedom and entretainment what makes him interested in a particular delivery boy. Or may is how easy is to make him submit to all his commands, no matter how humiliating they are.

He's assertive and quite the talker, but he's also a hot-head with a lot of anger. This might be the reason why he didn't get the position as team captain for the university's rugby team... initially. Pretty boy has in his posession quite the "interesting" clip about fellow student and coach, Keen, and that might have helped get to where he is at right now. But he's a jealous boy, as much as he tries to hide it. Poor thing doesn't know he never had the upper hand in this situation.

4th year student at P.B. University, at the faculty of Sports Science. Not surprised that he has to coach the university's rugby team instead of the teacher, and it might be for the best. He's authoritative and presses everyone, making him look agressive, but the boy is actually a sweetheart. Although don't think that stops him for being quite the "dominant force" when dealing with little shits like his fellow teammate, Captain. That boy is eating out of the palm of his hand and doesn't even realize.

Porche, 21 ( Patchanon Ponglerd )

Another cutie pie! Here we go again: 3rd year student at P.B. University, but we adding a new faculty, Business and Administration! He honestly doesn't care about his studies, really. Prom is the oldest out of the two siblings and has already graduated, so whatever plan their influential father has will relay on him, not on Porche. He's just happy to run Miracle Car Care. Mind you, it might be due to the fact that one of his employees tends to offer "special fixes" to the clients, if you catch my drift, and Porche might be using them as way to fullfill the lack of warmth in his life.

Puen, 21 ( Pakorn Booncharoen)

Here is where the worlds collide. He's also a 3rd year student at P.B. University, in Sport Sciences alongside Captain and Keen. But he's also the newest addition to the PLAYBOYY line up. You see, he got into the university by a scholarship, but this doesn't make the uni journey less expensive, so the extra money he gains through PLAYBOYY to pay his studies has to, obviously, be a secret. He's shy, silent and doesn't like to fight, which gives him an "innocent" demeanor many guests at PLAYBOYY are interested to "try out", making him quite the rising star. But the boy has ambition, and he doesn't care whom he might have to use to get into the golden throne of the número 1.

Whom is sitted in the golden throne Puen so desperately wants? Aob, of course. He's the most popular host in PLAYBOYY: handsome and charismatic, dashing with his friends, pleasing with his customers. Rised himself from the ground and his gaze is set on saving as much money as possible so that he can have a comfortable life, take care of himself and be proud of his profession. He grew up in a ragged and unwarm family, making him not trustworthy or a believer of love, but he enjoys taking the more "submissive" role when he lets someone in.

Teena, 27 ( Tinarath Somwong )

You beautiful bastard... He's a senior graduated from P.B. University, at the faculty of Fine and Applied Arts. Just like Puen, Teena used sex work as his way to pay his studies, but didn't left PLAYBOYY right away after his graduation. However, the opression and limited freedom at the club made him take the decision to leave the sex work life behind and went back to P.B. University to offer himself as a nude model for their art classes. He's a hopeless romantic, although life has only thrown rocks to his roof. Due to his former job, no one takes him seriously when it comes to affection, making him cold, but he's really sentimental. And he's sharp. He's quite layback, but enjoys when things get rough. Pretty rough. A certain wealthy young boy with a lot of anger to unleash might be his perfect match, they just don't know it yet.

Another former host of PLAYBOYY. He now works at Miracle Car Care, but hasn't stopped to offer his services. He just... has a new name for them, sort of speak. Is quite surprising to know he used to be a host: he's quite stiff and doesn't like to please anyone. He also doesn't like commitment, so I guess that's why. He hates being objectified, but Porche seems to give him a good time... for a good price, that is.

Prom, 23 ( Prompitch Ponglred )

Here we have another Rich Boi™, but in this case he's neither tiny or a meow meow. Prom graduated from P.B. University at the faculty of Business and Administration, same major his little brother is now coursing. However, Porche doesn't seem to know that his older brother doesn't like the live under their father's shadow. So, with a lot to lose and not giving a fuck, he joined PLAYBOYY as host. Makes sense, he's charismatic and sociable, and his BDSM habits attracts clients... Nant among them.

She was super defensive, adamant she was straight, and got pretty panicked so I dropped it. Haven’t brought it up since.” Jake catches his bottom teeth in his lips as he let out a sigh. 

“So basically she’s so far in the closet she can’t even see it?” Javy shrugs. 

“Maybe. Like I said, not my place to speculate. She’ll figure out or she won’t. That’s up to her.” 

“Yeah, but don’t you think she’d be happier? If she knew that about herself?” 

“Maybe. Maybe not. Why are you so interested in my best friend’s sexuality all of the sudden?” 

He sighs, letting his boyfriends hand drop as he moves to place his back against the headboard, crossing his arms. “Because. I remember what it was like to be so far in the closet the mere suggestion of being anything but straight made me want to run for the hills. Made me want shove anyone who suggested it off my plane over an ocean.” He tilts his head, looking to his boyfriend. “I also know that when I stopped hiding from who I was, stopped being scared, I was a lot happier. Felt a lot freer.” He swallows, reaching out to pick off a piece of lint from his sweatpants. “I also know she carries a lot of weight.” 

“I just don’t know what she’s running from. If she is, I mean. Maverick would love and support her, so would Rooster. We would obviously and she doesn’t have a thing to worry about with the rest of the team.” 

“Maybe she thinks Rooster will break-up with her. Kind of a life-changing realization, you know?” 

“Rooster’s down bad for her, he ain’t going anywhere.”

“Not if she’s not into men.” 

Javy moves, pushing himself off the headboard. 

“You really think that?” The words are sharp, a little bit defensive, and Jake winces. “You, what, think she just stays with him because she loves him but that’s not enough?” 

“No, Javy-”

“Then what, Jake? Think she’s got some internalized biphobia she’s projecting on to herself? This is my best friend you’re talking about.” 

“Maybe she is Javy.” Jake whispers and Javy roll his eyes, reaching over to grab a pillow. “Hey, where are you going?” He asks as Coyote moves off the bed and towards the door. 

“Sleeping on the couch. Don’t wanna hear this about her.” 

“Javy, c’mon, come back. We don’t need to fight about this.” Javy spins on his heel. 

“You drop it. Doesn’t matter whether she is or isn’t. Isn’t either of our places to discuss this or bring it up to her.” 

Jake sighs. “I just think that maybe she’d be happier.” 

“Regardless if she is or isn’t, she needs to figure that out on her own.” Coyote says firmly, but he’s already inching back towards the bed as Jake watches him carefully. 

He throws his hands up into the air in surrender. “Fine, I’ll drop it. Please just come back to bed.” Javy nods, already climbing back onto the mattress, bouncing softly in Hangman’s awaiting arms.

You’re standing at the bar, talking to Penny amidst the loud chatter of the Hard Deck when Hangman slips an arm around you. He bends closer to your ear, words hushed. 

“Hey, can I talk to you outside?” You nod, picking your beer up from the counter and waving to Penny as she moves farther down to serve other customers. You follow Hangman, weaving your way through the crowd, and once outside, you’re quick to slip off your shoes as you reach the sand. He nods his head to further down the beach. “Wanna go sit?”

“Sure.” You say, taking a sip of your beer. You follow him to a good distance away from the Hard Deck and follow his lead, settling into the sand. He sighs, setting his beer on the sand and bringing his arms to rest on his knees. 

“Listen, um, we gotta talk about something.” You swallow, setting your drink down as well. 

“Okay.” 

He sighs, rubbing his hands together. “Before I came out, before I met Javy, I was... I was very in denial about who I was. Kept thinking something was wrong with me and kept screwing all these girls just to prove I was straight. I don’t know who I was trying to prove it to, myself maybe. And that shit... it was lonely. It was a heavy burden to carry. I’m glad I don’t have to anymore.” 

You watch him carefully. Contrary to popular belief, you and Hangman were actually quite close. He’d never be Coyote but he knew when to keep it real with you and you appreciated the realness of your friendship more than anything. 

Weird how things changed. 

“How’d you know?” You hear yourself asking. You aren’t sure why. You’re straight. 

“I don’t know, I guess when I met Javy I had this oh moment. Everything about me sort of made sense. I was still a few years out from learning to deal with it but something clicked.” 

You bit your bottom lip, turning his words over in his head. You still weren’t sure why the two of you were having this conversation. “Where you going with this Hangman?”

“Do you ever feel that way? Like you have to prove something to yourself or that you’re carrying a heavy burden? Waiting for an oh moment?” You give a half-shrug, mouth gaping open. He sighs again, sitting back to rest on his palms. His gaze moves from you to the full moon on the horizon. “Are you gay?”

Your breath gets caught in your throat. You don’t respond, simply looking at him with wide eyes. He finally drags his gaze backs to you but holds firm, unwilling to back down. Finally, you force yourself to start breathing again, coughing nervously. You shake your head, looking down at the sand. “N-no, I’m not Seresin.” 

“It’d be okay, if you were.” 

“Yes, I’m very aware that it would be. But I’m not.” He tilts his head in acknowledgement and begins to stand up from the sand. All you can do is watch him. 

“Okay, well, I mean, it just wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if you were into girls.” 

“I’m straight Seresin.” 

You were... weren’t you?

“Yeah, I’m sure you are.” He picks his beer up from the sand, turning on his heel to head back towards the bar. You sit there bewildered, turning his words over in your head. 

Still, there was some part of you that felt unsettled. Like Jake had prodded at something dormant just enough to wake it up.

You sat on your bed, trying to remember what you were doing. You groaned, running a hand over your face. A soft knock sounded at your door and you looked up to see Rooster leaning against the open door. His smile was soft but you’d known him long enough to see the concern in his eyes. 

“Hey.” You whisper softly. 

Ever since your conversation with Hangman, one that hadn’t really been a conversation at all, things in your world felt off-kilter. You felt like you were waiting for the band to snap, like for the realization to come, the thing that would change everything as you knew it. You’d been sick to your stomach most days, unable to sleep. 

Admittedly, you had always wondered. Maybe a little bit more so after Javy had come out. But there was never enough to prove to yourself that you were that you had always brushed the thought off, burying it deep down. And now it was resurfacing in waves, questions and fears drowning you. 

You weren’t... You were straight. You were sure of it.

...Right?

“-you listening?” You shake your head, eyes flickering back up to your boyfriend. His smile was still there but you could tell it was more forced than anything. 

“Yeah, sorry, just zoned out for a minute.” You say, waving a hand. “What were you saying?” 

He sighs, straightening up and crossing his arms. “Coyote told me you bailed. Third time this week. He’s worried.” 

You shrug. “Just needed some time to myself.” He nods slowly, as if he doesn’t quite believe you. 

You wouldn't believe you either. 

“Hey, are you okay? You haven’t really been yourself lately.”

“Yeah, ‘m fine.” You tuck a piece of hair behind your ear as you hear your Dad’s footsteps in the hallway. He appears just a few moments later over Rooster’s shoulder and he shifts to allow him room to lean up against the other side of the doorway. 

“Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to come out to the hangar tomorrow? For the long weekend?” You nod, even though it’s the last thing you want to do with how messy your brain has been lately. 

“Sure.” You look to your boyfriend. “Want to come with us?” Your Dad sighs, straightening up, shoving his hands in his pockets. 

“Actually, I was thinking it could be just us kiddo.” 

“Oh.” You say, frowning slightly. “Am I in trouble?” He shakes his head. 

“No. Hey, you okay? You got anything you want to talk about?” 

“Why does everyone keep asking me that? I’m fine.”

Just like how you’re straight?

You brush the thought off, moving to stand up from the bed. “I beg to differ.” Rooster mutters and you shoot him a glare. 

“I’m fine. Now I’m tired so if the two of you would kindly-” You motion for them to shoo and they both sigh, exchanging a glance. 

“Its like... 7 PM.” Your Dad says, glancing at his watch. 

“Well- I’m exhausted, so I’m going to bed early.” 

Exhausted of running from who you are?

Rooster gives you a wary look before conceding, moving a few feet to give you a kiss. It’s short and feels forced and sends a wave of cold over you. He grimaces as he pulls away and doesn’t say anything as he steps back, slipping past your Dad. Your Dad sighs, stepping back and closing your bedroom door behind him. You sit back down on your bed, trying to swallow the tears.

You watch as your Dad swings his leg over his chair, settling back with his coffee in one hand and the paper in the other. 

Who still reads the paper?

Who denies their sexuality?

You swallow, looking up at your Dad. The two of you were meant to drive back tonight and if you wanted to have this conversation, your window was quickly closing. 

“Hey Dad?” He hums, not looking up from his paper. “Did you ever... Were you ever...” 

“Spit the question out kiddo.” He says with a chuckle, eyes still skimming over the paper. 

You take a deep breath, trying to steel yourself to ask what is a mildly inappropriate question. 

Still, you’d always looked to your Dad for guidance and if anybody would have some to offer you right now, it’d be him.

“Were you ever with a man?” 

He grunts. “Where is this going?” 

“Humor me, please?” 

“Does this have to do with why you haven’t been acting like yourself lately?” 

“Yeah.” 

He sighs. “Yeah, I was, but-”

“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. My real question is- Well, how did you know? that you were like... interested.” 

He tilts his head as he finally meets your gaze. “My story is a bit more like Jake’s. For so long, I hid any part of me that thought I might feel that way and then-” His face raises in a smile, clearly thinking back to some happier memory. “Then I met someone who changed all that. Everything just felt right with him and suddenly that part of myself I tried to keep hidden from myself and the world clicked into place. It stopped feeling like something was missing.” 

A silence falls between the two of you a you turn the words over in your head and he turns back to his paper. 

“Were you and Ice ever...” You wave your hand as he looks up at you, pausing mid-sip. “Together?” He sighs, and carefully sets both of them on the table in front of him. He eyes you carefully from where your back is pressed up the feet of the other chair, making a home on the rug placed in the hangar. 

“Yeah, we were.” 

“Oh.” You hear yourself saying, ears ringing with finally getting the truth after years. 

“That’s it?” 

You shrug. “Well, I mean I always suspected but I don’t know-” He nods, still looking at you ever intently as you begin to pick at the rug. 

“Yeah, we got together after that photo of us was taken. You know the one.”

You did.

“Anyways, we were together for a few years, but- it was hard. Especially with Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. I’ve loved your godfather, and I did until the day he died. But it was hard, being in the Navy, dealing with Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and we both agreed it was better to love each other and still be friends than go down in ruins. Was going to tell you but you got older and closer with Ice and it just- never came up.” 

You swallow, nodding. “Cool.” 

“Is everything okay?” You sit there for a moment, turning everything over in your head. You knew, but you were so scared. It was like two sides of you were warring, what you knew desperately fighting with what you feared. “Hey, talk to me kiddo. What’s going on?” 

You continued to sit there, tears beginning to form. Finally, you found the courage to say the words that were right there-

“Dad, I think I’m bi.” 

The words are no more than a whisper but he hears them all the same. He didn’t say anything, just continued to observe you. A few more tears begin to slip down your face, and then a few more, and then more, and soon you were struggling to wipe them all away as your Dad stood up from his seat to sit on the floor with you. He’s quick to wrap you in a hug, a kiss being placed to the top of your head. 

“Sweetheart, it’s okay.” 

You shake your head, swallowing. “It’s not.” You whisper. He holds you close, tucking your head into his shoulder. “How can it be okay? I’m in my fucking 30′s, in a long-term committed relationship with the person I want to marry, and I figure out I’m into women. It changes everything.” 

“It doesn’t have to.” He whispers. 

“How could it not?” Your voice is thick, the tears still bubbling out of you. “He’s gonna hate me, like I lied or-”

“Hey.” He says firmly, adjusting you to be able to look you in the eye while still holding on you. “Give Brad a little more credit than that, please. He’s loved every part of you since you were kids and through all your years apart. He’s going to love this part of you too.” 

“I’m bisexual.” You whisper, the words prompting a new round of tears. “It feels really good to say that.” 

Your Dad pulls you back to his chest, squeezing you tight. “I’m glad you’ve finally found yoruself.”

You glance up from your phone, the text from Bradley sitting on your phone like it’s taunting you. 

Text me when you get home please.

I love you.

“This isn’t our house.”

Your Dad turns the ignition off. “Nope.” 

You blink, turning to your Dad. “Are you really making me have this conversation with him now?” 

He shrugs. “You can tell Brad whatever you want, but I figured you'd probably want to see him.” 

You sigh, sliding your seatbelt off. As always, your Dad was right. 

You did want to see Bradley. You longed for a hug and for him to tell you that everything would be alright, that he’d still love you just like he always had. 

“And kid?” 

You pause, looking up at him as you climb out of the car. 

“Yeah?” 

“I’m really proud of you.” 

You swallow. 

“Thanks Dad.”

You climb out out the car, giving your Dad a wave as he drives off you. You sigh, pulling out your keys and thumbing through until you find the one that you had had since you were eleven years old, the key you’d never let go of, even in the years you didn’t speak to the person who inhabited this home. 

You blink tears away at the thought it may one day become your home. That tonight could mean it would never be your home. 

“Bradley?” You call out, toeing your shoes off by the entryway, straining for the sounds of him. 

“In the kitchen, honey.” He calls back and you can hear him moving around. You enter the kitchen, hovering by the door. 

Bradley’s cooking, sitting something on the stove, a towel slung on his shoulder as he tastes the sauce. He perks up at the sight of you, smiling. “Hey honey.”

“Hi. Sorry for dropping by unannounced.” 

He shakes his head, holding a hand out for you. “You’re never a bother. Come try the sauce. Tash sent me the recipe for her grandmother’s and I’ve been tweaking it to perfection.” 

He holds out the spoon for you to take but all you can do is stare. 

“We need to talk.” 

Bradley swallows, pulling back slowly. “Okay...” He trails off, leaning over to turn the stove off. “Do you want talk about it over dinner?”

You shake your head, glancing at the food. It looks and smells incredible, but you feel like throwing up, feeling the truth claw it’s way out of your throat on it’s own. 

“Now please?” You say, voice cracking. 

He nods. “Whatever it is, we’ll get through it.”

He looks so earnest and honest in his words, so sure that whatever you have to say to him couldn’t change how he feels about you, that you start to believe it too. 

You feel the tears stinging at your eyes as Bradley waits patiently. 

“I’m not- I don’t mean to spring this on you or- or- I don’t want you to think I’ve lied about this or intentionally hid it from you-”

He grabs your hand, squeezing it before running his thumb over your knuckles. “Honey, you’re okay.” He whispers, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “It’s okay, whatever it is, it’s okay.” 

You take a shuddering breath, leaning into his smell and the way he feels like home. 

“Bradley, I’m- I’m bisexual.” You whisper. 

It feels as though all sound is cut off as you watch him intently, not sure if seconds or hours ar epassing, anxiously waiting for him to tell you that he just couldn’t be with someone like that. 

Rationally, you knew he’d never do that to you. You hoped he’d still love you just as you are, even with this new discovery of yours. 

“If you wanna break up with me, I’d understand.” 

Bradley’s face falls and he pulls you into a hug. “Oh, honey, no.” 

You wrap your arms around him, desperate to find some sort of comfort. 

“Honey, this would never, ever change how I feel about you or what we have. How could it? This is just one more part of you that I get to love and I’m so glad it’s something you were able to discover about yourself. I’m so happy you felt like you could share it with me.” 

You swallow, tears still brimming in your eyes as you pull back to look him in the eye. 

This time though, it wasn’t from fear but from the feeling sitting in you at the way he looked at you. 

He gives you a soft smile, one of his hands reaching up to move some of your hair. “Besides, I’ve always had a suspicion.” 

You raise an eyebrow, letting out a choked laugh. “You did? How?” 

“Do you remember your friend Lexi from high school? Yeah, no one was ever really sure you two were just friends.” 

“What?” You question. “I wasn’t into her like that.” 

“Well, now I know that, but back then...” He shrugs, leaning up against the countertop. “I don’t know, Sli used to have this theory you were just dating Ben as a cover.” 

“I’m gonna fucking kill him.” You mutter, reaching up to brush some of the tears away with a shake of your head. 

Bradley smiles softly, knowing there's no real heat behind your statement. Your Uncle Slider had always been able to see things in a way no one else could, reading past the lies and bullshit. 

Maybe the years of putting up with Mav and Ice had taught him how. 

“Do you feel better?”

You nod, leaning into his touch. “Feels like a weight has been lifted, I guess. Like everything makes sense.”

He ducks to press a kiss to your cheek. “Good. That’s how it should be.” He turns back to the stove, retrieving his spoon. “Will you try the sauce now?” 

You quirk an eyebrow, letting out a watery chuckle. “I have to admit I was expecting us to have a longer discussion about this.” You say, although you take the spoon anyways. 

He shrugs as he places the spoon in the sink after you nod, giving him your approval. “It doesn’t have to be. It can just be as simple as that if you want it to be.” He pauses, facing you. “Why? Do you want us to have a longer conversation about it?” 

You give a half-shrug, sighing. “Not- not really? It doesn’t change anything for me, I still love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you. If you still want that, of course.” 

He sighs, reaching out for you again. “I want to be here however long you want me here. You trusted me with something deeply personal and that means so much to me. I’m not going anywhere. Not now, not ever.” 

You take his, intertwining your fingers with his. “I know.” You whisper. 

He smiles. “Good.” He turns back to the stove. “Now, let’s get some food in you. Can’t imagine Mav cooked anything halfway decent this weekend.” 

You laugh, reaching for the bowls out of the cabinet so Bradley can scoop the pasta up into the ceramic dishes. He tells you about his weekend as the two of you settle in the couch, close to one another. Bradley’s body heat isn’t the only reason feel warmth, the love you feel brining a certain type of peace you rarely experienced. 

Later, after the two of you have had a couple of glasses of wine and are on your second helping of food, you remember your conversation with your Dad earlier in the day. 

You pause in your bite, fork halfway to your mouth. “By the way, I learned something today about Dad.” 

“Hm?” He prompts, shoving a bite of pasta in his mouth. 

“He and Ice hooked up in ‘86.”

Is Eric Kripke America’s Tolkien?

So I started Supernatural for the first time around 6 months ago for which I blame Tumblr entirely (where do I claim compensation?). In fact it’s very good and fun and I can’t believe I missed it when it was live.

Ok so bear with me I’ve been sick for a few days a combination of high temperature plus rings of power trailer drop may be making me delusional, but I got to thinking … why did this show have such a hold not just on this site, but also on so many fan artists and fan fic writers. (I mean it has a strangle hold on Ao3)?

Then the RoP trailer dropped and I got to thinking is it because it world builds from a US stand point like Tolkien world built from a European standpoint?

Then because I am sick and can’t sleep I am sharing my stream of consciousness o: Kripke as Tolkien, Sam as Sam, John Winchester as Gandalf, Castiel as Beleg and Dean as Turin Turambar - and maybe now I’ve got this out of my head I’ll feel better….:

Source material

Most modern fantasy stands on the shoulders of JRR Tolkien who basically ingested a ton of European myths and languages (with focus on Northern Europe) and spat out the middle earth legendarium.

Eric Kripke (plus writing team) seems to have ingested a ton of US urban myths and US pop culture and spat out “Supernatural-verse”. Because it is *US myth making* it is distinct from a lot of other US writing that builds off Tolkien and / or European myth arcs (I’m looking at you Star Wars, Westeros etc).

And the themes and sensibilities therefore pulled out by Kripke are *not* the same as Tolkien’s themes and sensibilities. This makes it different to a lot of modern genre fiction (in whatever form) that either builds on or seeks to subvert the themes in Tolkien’s work.

(There’s also a lot of genre fiction that is satire or allegory for the real world, but that is another category to me and not really world building in the same way - incidentally the Boys fits into that category along with Good Omens).

Both ofc back end off the Bible but this is English literature based story telling and no one escapes the Bible or the bard.

Structure

We usually think of Tolkien in terms of:

(1) Hobbit - entry level nicely structured “there and back again” story for children, darker than expected. Main hero arc -Bilbo.

(2) Lord of the Rings - the pretty perfect fantasy master piece - very accessible clear meaningful themes and tidy /satisfactory ending. A number of hero arcs, but clearest drawn are Frodo / Sam.

(3) Silmarillion (&etc) - this is where the legendarium really gets built. It’s not neat, it’s not accessible, some of it is *not* a good read but the ideas here build the world. We have a creation myth. The “good” “wise” guys turn out to be more complex and flawed than we thought. The evil guys are extremely toxic but entertaining and bring the drama. There are epic doomed romances between immortal beings and mortal beings. Everyone messes up and makes catastrophic world destroying errors on the regular. People get cursed and can’t escape their doom. I can’t think of any real traditional hero arcs (maybe Beren or Luthien??). Note Tolkien didn’t finish this and it’s put together by someone else.

Now let’s do Supernatural

(1) seasons 1-3 - Horror procedural-

Entry level solid procedural hunting / horror story. Sam W is here in the traditional hero role. Dean is like your Thorin initiating the adventure. John Winchester is in the Gandalf role (he knows what’s going on and holds the secrets but is not available to the adventurers at all times). Maybe there something deeper and darker going on? This is your Hobbit equivalent very accessible but not particularly unique.

(2) season 4-5 - myth arc - lots of fans will say this is the perfect part of the story and a masterpiece of genre writing. It’s neat with clear meaningful themes and a tidy satisfactory ending. A number of hero arcs though Sam’s remains the most clearly drawn. Dean is more like your Aragorn or Faramir at the end of 5, Bobby in the mold of a Theoden and a Castiel in sort of Gandalf type position. Baby ofc is Shadowfax. This is your LoTR equivalent

(3) seasons 6 - 15 - the Legendarium- this gets a lot of criticism but it’s where the legendarium really gets built. It’s not neat, it’s not that accessible, some of it is not great to watch, but the ideas here build the world out. We have a creation myth (hello Chuck & Amara). We have hero doomed by the narrative (most notably Dean Winchester, though also Castiel). We have epic love stories between mortals and immortals. Yes I am comparing Dean & Cas to Beren & Luthien (!) though Turin & Beleg would perhaps be more appropriate (there’s a good case for Dean = Turin in this universe). The good guys turn out to be more complex or darker than we thought. The evil guys are extremely toxic but entertaining and bring the drama.

There aren’t really any straightforward hero arcs which is one of the reasons Sam fades out a bit and Dean comes forwards as a character. The stories are messy and tragic.

Landscape

Middle Earth - if you read the books or watch the movies or show it’s clear that Tolkien’s (sub)creation is a love letter to the mountains, lakes and woods of England and Europe. It’s also a cry of anguish for their destruction. Both the beauty and destruction are heightened (Europe doesn’t really look like this and really never did - as for the movies they were shot in anew Zealand and then digitally enhanced…) This is as important as the characters and plot - and stands out in particular in the Hobbit and LoTR where there are long descriptions of landscapes (or long shots of the same in movies / shows).

“Middle Americana” - it’s clear that as much importance was put into the look of the landscapes in Supernatural as to the characters or story. In this verse the look is long open roads, beautiful mountains and big skies that are a declaration of love for America, and the run down small towns seem to present wistful sadness. But again it’s not real it’s heightened. The cinematography in first few seasons is particularly thoughtful (and perhaps Kim Manners is to be thanked for that). The show is shot in Canada and the motels / gas stations in middle of no where needed to be built because they didn’t exist in reality. Again the landscape - the open road, the small towns, the big sky, the motels / dinners / gas stations in the middle of nowhere are as much a character as anything else.

I could go on but I suppose if anyone read this far you get the point (and more importantly it’s now out of my head and I can think about something else!).

Ultimately it will take some time to see if this could be right - in terms of genre fiction Tolkien is everywhere and you can’t escape it (even if you never read or watched any Tolkien!). Time will tell if the Kripke verse has the same impact on creatives and audiences, but I just look at the A03 archive and notice how many people know what happened on Supernatural without ever watching it (!) and think hmmm these are the readers and writers of tomorrow after all.

I’m really rethinking the TA!Au because it has actually gotten a lot darker then I originally intended, it’s one of the reason’s why I haven’t really written anything is because I’m actually planning out a full series that will stay contingent, and I’ve decided to make a whole new au instead. ’ve mentioned it before but I’m naming the new verse is named Traveling Teacher!au. I’m also cringing how I’ve type au so far.

This is also almost a 180 turn from it too.

Traveling teacher!au is where Ash actually goes to therapy, i’m not joking, and after he’s deemed ready by his therapist. Ash will be leading the International Leagues new mandated Buddy System. Where respected trainer’s slightly older between the ages of 17 and up will be there for support during trainings and battle. They won’t ever actually battle someone else, during “support time” but instead give advice on certain techniques that the professors deems right. Like all the Pokémon are loved dearly and they form a unique strong bond. Or as we know it, main characters basically.

Professors and or both an Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy together have to judge the team and deem everyone of at least three basic things. What makes it hard is that each region have different rules to apply to the buddy system and you legally have to meet each regions standard or else you are disqualified. The only reason Ash’s entire project he worked his blood sweat and tears into actually became a world wide thing is because, if he hadn’t been the luckiest motherfucker in the whole wide fucking world, so many well know people joined and public spread it with praise and pure delight of all ages. Anyone seventeen and above can join and freely offer good, qualified and respected advice. To many young children have died in almost every tragic event Ash has been in. Let alone his friends when they first come to face is Ash’s personal hell.

Yet they somehow an bare the trauma and laugh at their good times instead. Looking forward and accepting help when they can’t. They also go for the position of a version of a “shiny” trainer. Getting that iconic silver/golden sparkle over their picture on their legal trainer card. There’s other smaller requirements but’s it’s so easy to be re-qualified. Behind the scenes though? There’s so much more.

He had to convince a slew of fucking people this was a good idea and had to defend himself again and again at every step. It made him vicious in debates and arguments. Every INL member hates dealing with him when he’s mad because Ash is usually fucking right. He was already contracted as a “regional inspector” when crime rises rabidly through the entire nation. He’s widely considered to be fluent in fucking Evil Teams now. He has his moments, he’s not perfect at all but he’s trying. So far, his last break was by choice and not by the mental abuse of dying over and over again.

So… progress, somewhat.

Now that he no longer has to defend what was basically his fucking baby for so fucking long, he’s being sent to Alola for a trial run.

They don’t have a league in the island region. Choosing to go back to their religion, practices and ways of life after Unova had briefly colonized their islands. Before the INLwas established way back in time. It was going to be fought over by Paldea and those two had major beef between each other. quick Pokemon history recap in au. It was going to get dangerous real quick for the entire world of some people didn’t step the fuck in.

No one quite remembers how the INL was created, each region has it written it down in their history differently, but their here know and everything has genuinely been good… mostly because their in human disguises. They where distant and relatively cordial to each region and their own. Regardless they cared, especially since humans can be a danger to Pokemon it’s better to lead them then fight them.

Ash has made that very clear them in the years he’s been alive and cognitive enough to start blaming the legendaries who, for no reason, loses their shit just to lose it and nothing else. He’s had screaming matches and arguments with them to get their shirt together. Their led by the ear by Ash to make social engagement with the public. Both as INL members and as regulars “people”.

He may or may not caught having dinner with Kanto board member Gia Lu and KoKe Kahekili from specifically Melemele, Alola. Stirring the pot of rumors and gossip off what they have going on.

He held Q’s hand tighter, careful of the IV sticking out of his skin. He hadn’t asked to hold it, it was something he had done before Q had even woken up, but he had no intention of letting go. It was grounding, providing some stability amongst the chaos of the hospital around them.

Gaz never felt so miserable in his life before. He couldn’t believe himself. How could he freeze? He had the perfect chance to confess to you right there and then! The devastated look on your face keeps replaying in his mind. The guilt stabbing him, over and over.  

How he wants to bury himself in alcohol, drowning himself in sorrow. But knowing himself, his alcohol tolerance is close to zero, and he isn’t putting himself or his team at risk on the field in a half sobering state either. 

“Didn’t believe you could get even more serious with that face until now.”  He jumped a little as he felt the couch dipped beside him. When did Ghost slip into the room? 

“I heard from a little bird that you mess things up really bad.”

Gaz head shot up, how does he know?

Pulling his mask up a little, sipping on the tea slowly. Gaz swears he could see a smirk on his lip. 

“You think you are the only one that she has been talking to?” 

Jealousy flared up within Gaz. Is that a challenge??? “Worker harder if you don’t want her to be taken away from you.” Ghost drained his tea, stood up, slapped him on the back and left the room. Leaving him with the mystery words.

He tried to message and ring you for weeks after that. No responses at all. You even ended up blocking him afterwards. Does he have the right to be jealous? The two of you aren’t in a relationship. Just friends. More than friends. But he ruined it. So who else to blame but himself?

“Intel just came in,” Price half shouted over the sound of the helicopter and he started the briefing. “Metro police requested an assistance report of terrorists holding a group of civilians in a London shopping centre.” “ So far we know there are about ten hostile targets and twenty civilians. Bomb squads are on standby. Police already cleared a five kilometre radius as exlusion zone. We are not sure how much explosive they have packed into the building.“

Price shot Soap a look before he brought the video up on the screen. “... but we do know they have strapped a bomb onto one of the hostages.”  Gaz heard a visible gasp from Soap before seeing his face going red with rage. Terrorists were making their demands of ransom and releases of the political prisoners. The video zoomed into a woman, tied onto a pole, strapped full of explosives on her vest. 

It’s YOU. Bloody and battered. What have they done to you? 

“MINI.” Even he can hear the strain in Ghost’s voice. Gaz clenches his fist, trying to keep his head cool and concentrate on listening to Price dishing out the information.

“...They’ve given us until midnight tonight to meet their demands.” Price paused the video. It is clear what they will start doing if they don’t get what they asked for by the time limit. Gaz eyes went back onto the screen. Even in your dishevelled state, the determination and resilience  showing through your eyes, not one to give up. They are going to get you out. In one piece. No matter what it takes.

Four of them storm through the building like mad men. Few of the bomb squad specialists followed and quickly dispersed into the cleared zones, working on disarming the explosives. 

“Alpha 1-0 to Actual. Visual on hostages. East wing mezzanine level. Only one with explosives strapped. Rest grouped towards the back left corner away from the staircase.” Reports coming through the sniper, stationed on the rooftop  next to the building. “ Positive ID on the main suspect. Please advise.” “Actual to all stations, need confirmations on explosive status.”” “Confirm disarmaments.” 

“All stations. Standby.” Price gave his men a look, three of them nodded their heads. “Clear to shoot Alpha 1-0.” Sound of shattered glass echo throughout the building, and the screams of hostages. The men swiftly move up the staircases, taking out the rest of the targets. “Confirm targets KIA. I repeat, targets KIA.” Soap ran towards you as soon as all clear was given. “ Mini!!!” “ Johnny…” you replied with a whisper.  “Fucken steaming Jesus… they really got you good.” Looking down at your thigh, that is still trickling with blood.  Soap was furious. He wishes he could revive those terrorists and shoot them dead again. No one hurt his family. Ghost and Price were ushering the rest of the hostages away downstairs as the rest of the SWAT team swamped in.  Gaz came up beside you, starting to cut the binding off your hands as Soap quickly looked over the explosive vest that is still strapped onto you. 

“... I can’t just take this off. It’s booby trapped.”  he swore. “ They basically want you dead no matter what.” Soap made a quick call into the com, requesting the specialist for backup. “Mini.” Gaz called out to you. You turn your head, finally to face him. Biting your lips,he can see the tears welling up in your eyes, trying hard not to let it fall. “We will get you out.” Gaz heard Price’s voice behind him, with Ghost and two specialists following behind. Soap and Gaz quickly move away from you to let them do further assessments.

“ Good news is… well, Soap is right about booby trap,” You rolled your eyes. “ There is a way around it. The bad news… “ All the men look at the specialist,. “ …. As soon as you try to disarm it, you will trigger a timer,” they point towards a little red light on the side, obscured underneath tangles of wire. “ I would say you only have about five to ten seconds before it explodes on you.”. You grabbed onto Soap’s arm, dreading the possibility. “Just leave me, don’t risk all the lives for me.” Gaz’s heart shattered. Why are you trying to be the hero? “Don’t be a bampot Mini, how am I going to face Ma and Da if I leave you here?!!” Soap retorted. Taking a deep breath, the group deliberated, trying to come up with a plan.

So now, you are standing close to the balcony, the two specialists on your side, ready to cut the wires in sequence. Ghost standing behind you, back to the balcony, holding onto the top of your vest, ready to pull it off as soon as the disarmament is complete. Price and Soap kneeling down on the side, ready to cut the straps.  While Gaz stands facing you, ready to pull you in.

“ Ok. Remember the sequences. On my count.. Three, two.. One…”  Price and Soap started cutting, and Ghost pulled up hard, with the two specialists yelling out in sequences. “ FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!” Ghost yelled as he yank the vest up above your head, throws it over the balcony, down towards the ground floor, turning around, pushing himself behind you, into Gaz’s embrace, along with the others, forming a shield , protecting you from the exploding and the fragments flying up. Gaz can feel you trembling away, as you grab onto his tactical vest. He held onto you tight, trying to keep you up right.  Not a word from anyone for a few minutes, only sounds of debris and glasses shattering and heavy breathing from everyone trying to calm down from the adrenaline high. “Come on, we need to get out of here, the building is not safe.” Price was the first to break the silence. Ghost pulled you out of Gaz's embrace, he immediately misses your warmth. You stumbled a bit as you tried to stand, Ghost was quicker to scoop you up into a bridal hold. Pinch of sadness as Gaz sees you curling into Ghost’s chest, like a little broken girl, seeking for warmth. Ghost eyed Gaz for a quick second, before he turned and marched downstairs.

Gaz later found you sitting on the stretcher,leaning against Soap, looking down and totally zoned out. Ghost appeared behind him, pushing him towards you. “Last chance. Go talk to her.” as he turned and yelled at Soap, diverting his attention away from you both. Gaz silently snuck in as Soap gave you a kiss on the forehead and walked towards Ghost and Price. “Hey.” you snapped out of your reverie as Gaz called out to you, looking down at the spot Soap just vacated. You nodded your head, giving him the go ahead to sit. “You alright?” You asked him after a brief silence. He chuckled a bit. “I should be the one asking.” Gaz called your name. “I am sorry.” “ For what?” “ For being an idiot.”  You know what he is referring to. Pressing your lips tight. You didn’t reply immediately.  Gaz could see droplets of tears falling off your chin. “You did nothing wrong Gaz.” hands playing with the bandages around your thigh,” It was me who had the wrong idea. I am sorry I made things awkward between us.” “But you didn’t have the wrong idea.” You turned slowly, a twinkle of hope in your eyes. “ I was an idiot. I didn’t pick up on your hints. No, more like I was scared to acknowledge the hints.”  Gaz turned away with shame. “ I was a coward, I…didn’t think I deserved you..” reaching out for your hand, “ I was happy to stay in this little comfort zone, not wanting to burst the bubble, risking losing you.” “Can we be friends again? Please don’t lock me out. I want you in my life.. I..” “I don’t want to be your friend Kyle.”  Gaz froze. “ I want to be more than that.” Gaz’s body slumped with relief. He tilts his head down, pressing his forehead against yours. Sliding your hand up his arm, you tried to turn your body fully to face him. Letting out a whimper as you move your leg, Gaz immediately moves one of his arms underneath your thigh, and another around your waist, to pull you into his lap. “...Ghost knows all about this?” “... Ya… what’s with that pout Kyle. I started talking to him because he was asking for my advice.” Gaz’s eyebrows shot up. “ Advice?” Now that is interesting. “.... he wanted some dating advice.” He burst out laughing. And to think he got jealous of Ghost talking to you. “Can we not talk about him? Hurry up and give me a kiss before the others come back.” Who is he to deny your request? Holding your face softly, he closes the gap and gave you a tender kiss. I’m assuming that the selection of characters for this is the same as my last DC characters post - if not send me specific characters in another request and I’ll write for those!

Damian Wayne

• Damian would find you incredibly helpful, as not only is he well versed in on using a range of weapons, but your ability makes it easier for him to improvise in the moment against a new or consistently changing villain. It also means that he (and whoever else the two of you are working with) won’t need to be worried about having a specific item that may be needed in a crucial moment.

• Even though you can make weapons and reduce the amount of things he and the team would need to carry with them, he’d still prefer to bring weapons with him. He had items he specialises in that he always uses, and there’s no point in making you exhausted when many of the weapons they have in their possession.

• Your tiredness would obviously be a cause for concern if it results from the aftermath of using your abilities too much. As it can cause difficulty in getting out of missions or dangerous situations Damian will stay by your side if he’s aware that this is going to happen.

• Villains would be amazed if they could see your powers and abilities in action so Damian does try to keep you behind the main line of fighting if that’s possible. However, he knows that they will still come after you so he puts a lot of effort into defending you at all costs.

• Since you’re making your own weapons he does like to see that they have a personal touch to them rather than always being completely boring. Figuring out what he likes or him telling you what the perfect weapon would be I’m certain situations also comes in handy at all times.

Jason Todd

• Jason knows that a lot of people appreciate and make use of your abilities, but for him personally he isn’t in too much need of it. Unless he’s in an extremely strange situation or all of his weapons were taken than he’d have no real use for your abilities.

• He will always prefer his own weapons as he has a special attachment to them. The weapons he keeps with him are like his banques and he takes excellent care of them since he finds such a personal connection to them.

• Regardless of whether he needs your abilities or not, Jason will always be there to help you get out of a mission or fight safely. Your tiredness is a big reason for that, especially as this can risk him and the others around him to more danger and not just yourself.

• Jason doesn’t need much of a reason to fight criminals and villains to begin with, but protecting you certainly is a great excuse to do so. Not only does he get to keep you safe and Proventil a kidnapping situation, but he also gets to lay down justice much more with reason.

• When he interested he may ask you to make some absolutely strange and weird weapons just so he can see the range of what you can make, but if this stores affect your tiredness and well-being then he will keep it to a minimum.

Garfield Logan

• Garfield thinks that’s you’re astoundingly helpful to the people around you especially in extreme situations. However, Garfield has abilities of his own so it’s very rare that he’s going to be using a weapon other than himself.

• He is well versed in his abilities and power of being able to turn into different animals at will depending on what would work best. But, if this is absolutely not possible at all then he would use a weapon you’ve made - although he may be hesitant as first.

• Garfield is very sweet and caring so if the two of you managed to get back home safely and you’re powers have caused you extreme tiredness, then he would help you recover once he’s feeling better himself. He’d do this for any other person he was close to which shows how thoughtful to the well-being of others he is even when a fight is over.

• Garfield goes into automatic defence mode when he finds out that other are looking to benefit from your abilities. Criminals and villains would live the opportunity and saving abilities of not needing to keep weapons on them constantly which means you’re vulnerable - but Garfield always has many people around you both if he suspects danger.

• Garfield does like to make light of situations or make them fun, so it’s not a surprise when he tries to use your abilities in a playful way. However, you will have to put a cap on it before it ends up going to far or tiring you out before and important mission.

Bruce Wayne

• Bruce obviously thinks that your abilities are helpful, especially if he’s in need of a lot of weapons at the time or ammo. And if you’re willing to, he’ll use it as much as he knows is mortally right to do so as he doesn’t want to take advantage of it too much.

• Of course Bruce still prefers his own weapons, and this is mainly because he’s had a personal hand in making them so if anything goes wrong he has no one to blame but himself. Plus, making the weapons himself gives him a sense of comfort and reassurance while using them.

• Despite Bruce never taking good care of himself and barely sleeping regardless of how busy or tired he is, he is still very understanding and sympathetic to how you’re feeling. So, if you’re ever in need of rest caused by your abilities he’d fully understand.

• Bruce can’t guarantee that you’ll be protected constantly and forever (although that would be ideal) but he would promise to do as much as he could. Whether that be keeping an eye on you or giving you methods of defence and hiding he’ll do it if he thinks it to be effective.

• Bruce isn’t the type of person to make your abilities into a game or fun situation, but he will test them to see how they work. He’ll try a range of weapons of size and ability and would prefer to understand you fully before he turns it I to a fun concept.

i absolutely loved the 2019 adaptation of carmen sandiego, and it honestly could pair so nicely with MBS!!! personally imagining martina as tigress...

actually, with the little VILE operative group, can see martina/tigress, sq/crackle, jackson & jillson/le cherve & el topo...

martina & sheena just generally have that same vibe. they're both pretty snarky, sassy, and dedicated to being the best. also, the little rivalry between carmen and tigress reflects pretty well upon kate and martina!

with sq, i find a lot of people (including myself) love the sort of sibling relationship the society could've had in regards to sq, especially considering in show-verse sq and constance being canonical cousins. i've always loved the relationship between carmen and gray, and always get the feels when i encounter the clip of carmen calling him the "brother she never had" or something along those lines <3. also imagining the post-mind-wipe gray focused episode (2.07, i believe!) where he's working in the opera house... that but instead of the opera house it would be an art gallery, maybe. instead of controlling the lights, sq is getting the society (team red) information on different works in a bigger, mainstream museum. some kind of treasure hunt, maybe? clues lead to information puzzle or something of the sort. kate posing as some sort of chairty leader with some sort of art installation charity piece in reflection to carmens charity leader using ballet as a charity event (i'm pretty sure thats how that episode went, but it's been a while since i watched LOL).

with jackson and jillson, they kind of have that same attached-at-the-hip feel of jean-paul and antonio, of course with the main difference of their relationship being familial while le cherve and el topo are more up-to-interpretation (though very implied to be dating). they're both just amazing duos who look out for each other, which i think is sweet.

with your mention of morse code... i would assume sticky takes the place of player :)

reynie and constance!! as zack and ivy!! makes me wonder what they got into that life of thievery for... maybe not racing, but something with similar stakes. would have to think about that.

kate!!!! looking for her dad!!! her mom being the one who was VILE faculty, and milligan being the one she reunites with in the end.

would the society adults be ACME? would the institute adults be VILE? or even, would the younder institute folks (martina, sq, jackson, jillson, etc.) even be working for VILE? would any of them be apart of interpol instead? or even, would some of the society be in interpol instead? there are so many options to think on...

obviously, nothing would be perfectly character-for-character, but it's fun to think about where each character would stand in the sense of what they stand for!

in the original case; martina being that rival, sticky being the go-to source of information, reynie and constance being able to be a close source of support, and so on! or even in alternate cases, maybe reynie takes the part of julia and ends up being there for kate as a believer-- as julia is the believer in the good of carmen. maybe its constance! maybe it's sticky, and reynie or constance or whomever else is sending the morse code! super fun to think about !! :3

i know you did a hp au for brittana a while back, can you do one for what quinntana would look like in hp verse?

Quinn is a Slytherin but becomes a pariah in fourth year after hooking up with Finn, a Gryffindor (bad) and known dumbass (worse).

Santana, also a Slytherin, orchestrates Quinn’s downfall because she wants to be head girl one day and Quinn is her only real competition. They spend most of their later schooling years sabotaging each other in an effort to come out on top. They both firmly believe this takes priority over the impending wizarding war.

They are inseparable and feared by all until one day in third year when Santana becomes friends with Brittany, a Hufflepuff, who turns her into a puddle of goo whenever she’s around. Quinn condemns the relationship initially, not because Santana and Brittany are both girls exhibiting some serious gay behaviour together, but because Brittany is a muggle born. The real reason is that she’s jealous but she won’t realise this until several years later.

They are both beaters on the Slytherin quidditch team and have been since second year. On the pitch, they are formidable, always in perfect sync. Even when they hate each other. Slytherin rarely lose a game anymore.

When Voldemort and the Death Eaters start recruiting her classmates, Santana realises pretty damn quickly that she’s not quite as Slytherin as the rest. Mostly because she’s still hung up on Brittany, who is an active member of Dumbledore’s Army and constantly in Santana’s ear about switching sides. Quinn takes a while longer to come around because her Dad happens to be Voldemort’s main contact at the Ministry, but ultimately she chooses to be Good too after witnessing a group of first years be tortured for minor misdemeanours. No one deserves that. They don’t join Dumbledore’s Army or anything though. Too far.

Quinn is particularly gifted at Charms, Santana excels in Defence Against the Dark Arts. They both suck at Potions and frequently rely on Brittany, who is somehow top of their class despite never paying any attention.

Harry Potter is in the year above them and super f*cking annoying. When Harry dramatically reappears in the Great Hall prior to the Battle of Hogwarts, Santana and Quinn both immediately roll their eyes. Of course he’d insist on making a scene.

They fight alongside each other during the Battle of Hogwarts, and are two of very few Slytherin house members not locked away in the Dungeon. This is because Professor Mcgonagall knows they’ll be an asset, not a threat. She is correct. Together, they take out more of Voldemort’s crew than most of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw houses combined.

Quinn doesn’t realise her true feelings for Santana until she watches her get stunned by a nasty curse from a Death Eater during the Battle of Hogwarts. She retaliates by killing him in a fit of rage. This is the first (and only) time Quinn uses the Death Curse.

Santana doesn’t realise her feelings for Quinn until she wakes up in the Great Hall to find a blonde haired body concealed beneath a sheet beside her, which she mistakenly assumes is Quinn. She LOSES it and is just about ready to burn the whole world down when Quinn arrives back from the hospital wing with more medical supplies. Needless to say it’s an emotional reunion. When the dust finally settles, Brittany steps aside graciously (she’s had her suspicions about them all year).

Back on my copium but I love how there is a difference between pre-war Rei and !/!! Era Rei. I think it just speaks to how great of an actor Toshiki Masuda is that he can do this but I am loving the slight vocal inflections that set the two apart and how the animation team was able to animate his dancing differently as well

For clarity sake, War Era Rei will be referred to as OreRei while !/!! Era Rei will be referred to as simply Rei

I think it comes to no surprise to anyone that the 3D MV of Eccentric Party Night is set during the war. Kanata’s long hair gives it away really but take a listen at Rei’s very first line

あたりまえじゃ収まりきらない

In the original version his voice is steady and keeps the same high but stable tone. OreRei though puts emphasis on the た (ta) and growl on ま (ma) . His movements are also a lot more dramatic. The MV has Rei sweeping his hands up and out in a circle above his head and holds out his hand. Very relaxed, very in tune with his soft singing. But the 3D MV has OreRei leaning forward with sweeping hands over his face, teeth barred, putting on a grand show. There’s also the drop shadow and the brief moment where he sticks out his tongue during “Are you ready for Eccentric Party” OreRei is very obviously the leader, leading the 5 into the main stage, stepping aside for Wataru’s part, fist bumping Natsume and dragging him into their shared verse while looking back to make sure that he’s following, meeting Shu at his own pace but still offering a high-five which the other takes, he also leads them into the chorus. In contrast, Rei supports the other eccentrics by taking the camera off him in favor of more group shots. He lets the others take the spotlight and also follows the dance routine a lot more strictly. I know that a lot of it could be because these are two different animation styles they’re using so not everything will be the same, but its a very interesting difference anyways.

もう誰もたどり着けない

again you get a growl with 誰 (dare) while 着けない (tsukenai) is a lot raspier in comparison to his solid soft singing style in the next year. Rei is a lot like a steady presence in the ! version of Eccentric Party Night and his singing reflects how he’s settled into the role of the “Wise old mentor” as he keeps a solid base for everyone else to build up off of. OreRei on the other hand is very in your face, always ready to take the head and charge forward. Even in the second “Eccentric Party Night!” that he shares with Wataru, he is in front of everyone except Wataru who is taking up the whole damn screen. He’s doing his best to protect them all ;^; He’s noticeably also very energetic here, his kick right into the camera being a perfect example. OreRei also has a lot more control of his expressions, his wide grin for the audience, soft indulgence for the eccentrics, he even jumps higher and with more energy, knees pressed together rather than apart as Rei does in the regular MV. Even with all of his straight lines in the dace segments, Rei tends to bend his arms and knees a lot more than OreRei does, having that sense of softness and lethargy. Rei does channel a little but of his old Demon King persona in the final 踊れ (odore) Party Night, spreading out his hands as if to show off his chosen family as to camera solely focus on him. OreRei does the same, but the camera instead focuses on all 5 of them and their united nature.

One interesting change from the MV though is that its Kanata and Natsume who are on the right and left of OreRei while its Wataru and Shu who are beside Rei. Could it be that because Eccentric Part Night was Natsume’s pipe dream that he stands beside the leader while Wataru was the one who put into motion Origin vs Altered? I’m not sure the creative process behind this one since I would assume it would be Wataru on the right, Kanata on the left bc of their 3 Gods position while Itsuki is beside Wataru and Natsume with Kanata. That formation just makes more sense with how the 5 Eccentrics operated as a group but I guess we’ll find out in the new event

regardless, i do very much love OreRei. its very nice to hear those vocal inflections that set him apart from regular Rei. He’s very cool I think when he’s playing up that demon king persona. Just hearing the difference, I think I understand why Koga looked up to him so much, his OreRei voice is perfect for a rock band. He’s also generally a lot cooler as OreRei and carries a lot more stage presence, fitting for the former Student President and Leader of the Eccentrics. Rei on the other hand is not a pathetic wet noodle ^^
