read a post about if the doctor was a vampire and got snacks from friends. just a bite. and uhh a little horrified because proportionately they’d probably need like 1L of blood at LEAST to be full. And that’s like 25~30% already. So say a snack. But Rory would apparently draw blood for 11 using a needle, and that’s alright, that’s only 5 ml or 10 ml, at most 20. That’s a reasonable snack, if you were to give that away.
It doesn’t dull the dread of if they were to really drink. That’s your strength. Also… the puncture wound needs to heal. Bruises. Anemia. Drained. Unstoppered.

**no food is "junk," but I know I didn't get enough of most of the nutrients I struggle with, and the high sugar/carbs of what I did eat today is not conducive to a level, positive mood in the absence of those other nutrients.

far and away the best hangover cure (tummy-problems-main as mine are) is
egg, fried over-easy in butter and mayo (and bacon grease if u have it), with worchestershire sauce and chili flakes (1 egg necessary, 2 eggs lovely, 3 eggs hedonism but go for it)
over starch of ur choice and raw veggie of ur choice if u feel up for it (my usual is nice big toast + arugula with lemon juice)
and a can or three of sparkling apple cider vinegar drink. i get the ones from traders joe but i bet u can make ur own, i think it's just sparkling water + acv + ginger and lemon juice or whatever flavors (the ginger is SO IMPORTANT tho)
also, if possible, big sleep. much of the day.

Now that I’ve made peace with and learned to live with chronic illness, sometimes I forget that it’s a disability until it comes and knocks me on my ass now and again.
As I’m learning more about allergies and how allergic reactions can manifest in the body (besides straight up anaphylaxis) I’m wondering if some of my chronic illness symptoms aren’t just… reactions to things that I have yet to identify as allergens. Identifying allergens is also a pain, because allergy panels exist, but you have to 1) go off your antihistamines for a brief period beforehand (hell) and 2) some insurance only covers tests for major allergens like molds/pollens. Anything else, particularly foods, requires elimination diets… which in turn require stupid amounts of patience and willpower.
Those thoughts make me realize just how hostile feeding yourself can be if you don’t just cook everything for yourself, and if you can’t get yourself higher-end ingredients that don’t have additives you’re allergic to. What are you to do if you can’t cook for whatever reason? Sometimes you have to opt for foods that cause you the least severe reaction when no safe foods are available. Allergies really, really need to be better understood and respected as a disability, especially in this hell world where everything seems to contain corn and soy for no good reason.
