Hi I hope this isn't a dumb question but I'm a new Stars fan (This is actually my first time watching the hockey season) and I was wondering what the "We're not going home" phase is from and why did some people here got emotional when Khudobin said it during our home game on Tuesday
hi!!! there are no dumb questions!!!! the phrase came out of the 2020 bubble playoffs which, wild as it is to realize, were nearly five years ago 😭 so even if you'd been watching for a couple seasons it's the kind of thing that you might've missed anyway!!!!!
technically (& i didn't even fully remember this!) the stars using 'we're not going home' as a rallying cry in the bubble didn't even originate with dobby!!! joel kiviranta said it first, after the stars beat colorado in game seven of the second round thanks to his overtime game-winning hat-trick goal.
the stars' player of the game token at the time was a chain with a big dallas logo in it; a long-haired roope rightfully handed it over to kivi, the room called for him to give a speech, and in response kivi said, 'fuckin' right. we're not going home!'
it became associated with dobby when he was given the player of the game token after the stars beat vegas in game five of the WCF, and succinctly said, 'WE'RE NOT GOING HOME!' before putting the chain on.
all the love to kivi but dobby just said it with a little more panache!! he'd presumably had more time to think on how he wanted to use the phrase!!! also, as you may or may not know, espn+ had a series called quest for the stanley cup for a couple of seasons (it looks like 2023 was the last, maybe because the amazon documentary series kind of took over last season? who knows) & the title of the fourth episode was 'we're not going home' & featured dobby's use of the phrase as a closer to its coverage of that series, which i think helped cement it as dobby's in general hockey media. sorry kivi. we will always have 'joel fucking kiviranta' though!
anyway. all that to say, it was very nostalgic to hear dobby say it on tuesday!!!!!! it's such a Bubble Playoffs Phrase because it just .......... wouldn't really make sense as a rallying cry any other year. eliminated teams in 2020 left the bubble pretty immediately after getting eliminated so everyone could go home & go back to quarantining and waiting to hear what the league's plan was to return to play for the next season.
obviously most of the time, getting to go home during the playoffs is a good thing!! it's part of why teams want home ice advantage so much!!!
2020 flipped everything on its head though & turned being stuck in a hotel in edmonton for that much longer into a good thing. 'we're not going home' essentially just meant 'we're moving on to the next round' but it sounds so much cooler. dobby saying it on tuesday didn't literally mean 'we're not going home' so much as it meant 'we're moving on,' except that he was a game early so once more: can he please come back on saturday?? for the vibes???
i really wish i could easily put footnotes into a tumblr post but here are some sources:
rmnb put out an article about dobby saying 'we're not going home!' because andrej sekera referred to him as the russian machine, which is ovi's nickname. this was super useful in sourcing the vidoes of kivi & dobby saying the phrase from the stars twitter so shoutout to them.
espn did a recap article about the 'we're not going home' episode of quest for the stanley cup, which is kind of fun as an artifact now because pete was vegas' coach when dallas beat them! which i Knew but had like. kind of forgotten. 'Apparently DeBoer greeted every Stars player with "go win it" after they eliminated Vegas in the Western Conference finals.' pete can you somehow bring this energy back but in the locker room this time & with some extra juice. please pete i'm begging.

Hi there! Recently visited my nana and her cats, one of which is a Burmese, and it got me wondering what a “champagne Burmese” is genetically.
the cat in question:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyways, would you be able to explain how Burmese colors translate to cat genetics terms?
Like, a sable Burmese seems to be a black (sepia?) point, a brown Burmese is maybe the same thing as a sable; and a platinum Burmese seems to be a blue point..? And a champagne Burmese might be the same as a chocolate Burmese; are both chocolate points?
Of course! Burmese are all sepias (cbcb), the pointed (cs) allele isn't present in the breed. Their genetic base colors are black, blue, chocolate, lilac, and in some, but i think not all registries, red, cream and all above versions of tortoiseshell. The common names correspond with the following genetic colors:
sable = brown = seal = black sepia
champagne = chocolate sepia
platinum = lilac sepia
For all the other colors usually the genetic name is used (except they tend to not add 'sepia' since the breed being fixed for it makes it somewhat redundant).

The lists of accepted colors in four major registries (CFA, TICA, FIFé and WCF).

wcf/ecf sen core anime comps
ok. so this has been bouncing around in my brain for like 3 days and it literally makes NO SENSE at all except to me. but i wanted to write about it anyways so here we go. basically i like connecting my interests with each other and draw comparisons so i was like. hey i can match the remaining nba teams to the anime i rlly like and enjoy. this is not even rlly based of characters (doing character to player comparisons is difficult) but moreso based on the team vibes. its kinda hard to explain, some make more sense than others but i am going to try my best to explain the reasoning behind each choice
also would love to hear other ppls comparisons... doesnt even have to be anime it can be any medium....
this will be from most to least confident matchup
pacers - baccano
Tumblr media
once i remembered abt this anime i was like OHH thats perfect. one of my favourite animes but i wouldnt have expected to love it so much if i didnt find it accidently. similarily you wouldnt expect the pacers to be so good until you watch your team play against them. and then your like damn wtf
baccano has so many characters but no one main character, i mean there is a main character (firo) and the story begins and ends with him but he doesnt get a lot of screen time and the story dedicates a relatively equal amount of time to multiple characters. lots like how the pacers play basketball
now the devil magic aspect? a lot of the baccano characters have this supernatural ability to take the lifespans of others (by putting their hand on their head). and the pacers...
also the vibe of the anime... idk its not exactly an emotionally gutting story by any means but it is fun as hell to watch. thats how the pacers feel to me.
timberwolves - flcl
Tumblr media
we got some weird characters on the flcl cast. and we got some interesting players on the timberwolves too dont we. without going into too much detail about whos WHO (i dont wanna think about that for too long and i dont have a specific character/player comparison), the range in the personalities, age and general demeanor of these players and the characters in flcl is large. and watching timberwolves games kinda feels like watching an flcl episode sometimes (u dont know whats gonna happen next but its always fun) (think reg season game where they game back to beat OKC in OT and the double OT game with denver). you could also apply the coming of age aspect of the show to players like ant, jaden mcdaniels, NAW etc.
knicks - kaguya sama love is war
Tumblr media
i picked this one bc kaguya and shirogane AND miiko ino and ishigami have this like stupid banter and you could apply this to like anyone on the knicks (ahem hart and brunson) and then KAT can be like chika or something. also them being 5 student council members (starting 5, dont ask me whos who, all ik is kat is chika fujiwara) makes sense bc u see them a lot and thibs doesnt like playing his bench (side characters in kaguya get screen time but nooot as much as the main 5). also is the slow burn romance frustrating? yes. but you fall in love with the story along the way (this could be a metaphor for the teams season as a whole or the hart brunson nonsense YOU DECIDE)
okc thunder - monogatari series
Tumblr media
im high key cheating with this (its a harem anime) but its about youngsters figuring out life yeah young love etc its inexperienced and messy (MONOGATARI IS MESSY FOR MULTIPLE REASONS) i am NOT comparing shai to araragi dont worry. this is my least confident comparison.
back up comparison is oregairu (also a harem anime sorta) but ehhh i feel like the craziness of monogatari is more fitting for okc :)
if you made it this far thank u for reading...

y'all seen this? fans getting wayyyyy too close and touching mcdavid in the craziest way after oilers won wcf game 6 while he and LK were on a beer run. it's like those parents at the airport who clutched him like their child photo except add on harassment and tiktok and incredibly terrifying for anyone let alone a pretty quiet shy person. he's still human guys, not an inanimate object. genuinely hard to watch

ur catlin clark take is wack lol she clearly idolizes kobe, like everyone else. it’s an iconic pose, i’ve seen ppl win academic trophy’s and pose like that to pay homage to the goat. kyle kuzma did it too and no one tore him apart as hard and u just tore a woman down.
we must have been living in different worlds a few years ago bc ppl fucking TRASHED kuz after the wcf. absolutely obliterated him. you want ppl to believe nba twitter DIDN’T take the opportunity to clown kyle kuzma? okay buddy.
but this is about more than me “tearing a woman down”. idolizing kobe, wanting to emulate him, all that is fine, but it’s not just about caitlin either. the context of that photo is kobe genuinely being sad because he had so much family shit going on. it’s way bigger than hoops. to recreate that without any respect to all the shit he was going through isn’t homage bro respectfully
on top of that, anyone who knows anything about kobe knows he didn’t celebrate anything except his nba titles and his gold medals. no conference championships, no all-star selections, no league mvp, nothing. using that pose to celebrate a conference title just feels wrong.
that’s obviously my opinion, and you’re entitled to yours, but this would be completely different if i WERE okay with other people who aren’t caitlin recreating that photo, and i’m not.

Do you have any top 5 facts you would like to share regarding shipwrecks I’m very curious /Nf /gen
-♟️
I DO HAVE!!!! Ok ok let me think of some good ones
1 - Talking about the most famous one first, a lot of people think that the Titanic wasn't as secure as the fame she had at the time, and this, in my opinion, has to do with the movie (which is a whole other problem that i should talk about later) but in reality, it WAS one of the safest ships at the time.
Yes, to today's standards, it would be considered way too unsafe to transport people, as it had lifeboats for only half the people at the time of the tragedy, however, at the time, it actually had MORE lifeboats than required by the law - if you go see the merchant shipping act of 1894 (which was used at the time of the tragedy) ships at the size of the Titanic had to carry 16 lifeboats, while the Titanic had 20. And yes, although it was not a lot more, it was definitely better than having the minimun.
Alongside with that, they only carried enough boats for half the passengers as they believed they could call other ships for help in the case of a shipwreck happening, but everything going on together for the worst made it impossible for it to happen.
2 - A lot of people think that "Women and children first" is a law/code of conduct that people follow heavily in the case of tragedies, but it is actually the complete opposite
Although data may not be 100% certain, a study done in 2012 using 18 shipwrecks as database showed that on average, 20% of female passengers survived on average, while 10% of the children survived, while the ones who survived the most were crew members and the captain.
The reason for this myth existing on popular mind is because of the Titanic as well - as it is an exception to this rule. The crew, in the Titanic's case, made sure to actually call the WCF order and put it in practice, making it so a lot more women and children survived compared to men. Alongside with that i'll leave this link right here which goes more in depth about it.
3 - The oldest shipwreck that we know about is the Dokos Shipwreck, which was found in the southern part of Greece, more precisely, near the Dokos island - which gave it it's name. The shipwreck is dated back to around 2700-2200 BC, and at the moment of discovery (in 1975) it obviously had no traces of the ship left, but, with the vases and pottery pieces left around the area, they could determine it was a merchant vessel.
4 - There was a woman named Violet Constance Jessop who got the nickname "Miss Unsinkable" during her lifetime. She was a nurse who worked on the three "big sisters" at the time of their shipwrecks (RMS Olympic, RMS Titanic and HMHS Brittanic) and she managed to somehow survive all of them and live to old age. Also, as a funfact: she didn't stop working in ships even after these 3 shipwrecks....Which honestly i wish i was as courageous as she was tbh.
5 - There is a cruiseferry called MS Estonia who sank in 1994, taking the life of +800 people and being considered one of the worst shipwrecks in history during peaceful times. Alongside with that, the site of it is considered a graveyard by the government, and it is completely illegal to dive there or try anything to take the ship out of the ocean or to recover the bodies from it - the area was also covered in gravel to prevent grave plundering.
If any of these interested you, i urge you to go search a bit more about them!!! I absolutely adore searching about it as it has been a hyperfixiation for a long time! Also if you want to ask anything else feel free to do so!/gen

My December 2023 toy haul got here a few days ago, finally. It only took forever and a half... so much for express dhl...that cost though...DX
From top left to bottom: BanPresto NARUTO Shippuden World Collectible Figure Sasuke Uchiha (Game-prize) Figure; Good Smile Company POP UP PARADE Silent Hill 2 Red Pyramid Thing Complete Non-Scale Figure X2; FuRyu Minna no Kuji Touken Ranbu Online Last Get Prize Hikkake Mikazuki Munechika Matteri ver. Acrylic Sticker; Ensky PAPER THEATER NARUTO Shippuden PT-340 Sasuke, PT-342 Itachi & PT-125N Naruto vs Sasuke; B-SIDE LABEL CAPCOM x B-SIDE Sticker CAPCOM 40th Resident Evil.
I am super happy with everything, the Sasuke Uchiha acrylic stickers in particular, they are so cute! I am also loving the PUP Red Pyramid Thing figures. I was hoping they would be in-scale with the PUP Bubble Headed Nurse, so I could try to get a second nurse to display both, but it seems they are the same exact height, so not in-scale with each other, sadly for me. T__T;; I am tempted though, to get some 1:6 scale PH statues, now that I have this tiny one and a double to unbox one. I'll probably go for something that's not as expensive as Gecco, I really wanted one of them, but I couldn't justify them. Now they are a little eye off the face! DX I was able to get a second "last one get" Minnano Kuji Hikkake figure of Mikazuki Munechika. I loved these hikkake figures so much, I had hoped the other series would be of similar size, but the Demon Slayer ones seem a lot smaller (one Giyu is the only other one I own). I got all the 1st Minna no Kuji ones for the Touken Ranbu Online releases, except the ultra-mega rare winking Shishio. I wanted to get doubles of all, but hadn't gottent Mikazuki's last-one until now. So, I'm very happy, as well as with teen WCF Sasuke, I need the child version was well, but these seem ultra-mega-ultima-level-of-rarer. I also love the RE sticker, I didn't read how large it was. I was surprised at how tiny it is. Story of my life! Lol! (:

the Story of the .32-20 Winchester Cartridge
Tumblr media
The .32-20 Winchester cartridge, often simply referred to as .32-20 or the .32-20 WCF, is a bit of an enigma in the realm of small-bore ammunition. With roots stretching back to the late 19th century, it has seen service in everything from modest single-action revolvers to lever-action carbines. This vintage cartridge, despite its somewhat archaic status, continues to hold a small yet avid following among shooting enthusiasts. To understand its appeal and to gauge its significance in the annals of firearms history, we must delve into the details.
Cartridge and Bullet Dimensions
This cartridge was introduced by Winchester in 1882 for the company's Model 1873 lever-action rifle. The nomenclature ".32-20" refers to a .32 caliber bullet backed by 20 grains of black powder. The bullet diameter is actually .312 to .313 inches, while the case length stands at about 1.315 inches. The overall length varies depending on the bullet used, but it generally ranges from 1.590 to 1.605 inches. The rim diameter is approximately .408 inches, with a rim thickness of about .065 inches. The standard bullet weights are predominantly found in 80 to 115 grains, though exceptions exist.
Powder Loads
Originally loaded with black powder, the .32-20 was among the early cartridges to transition to smokeless powder. The powder capacity of the case allows for about 9 to 12 grains of smokeless powder, depending on the specific type used. Popular smokeless powders for reloading this cartridge include Alliant Unique, Accurate No. 5, and Winchester 231, among others. It's imperative for reloaders to consult reputable reloading manuals for safe powder charge data, as this is an older cartridge that doesn't tolerate excessive pressures well.
Historical Context and Development
The time period during which the .32-20 was developed was a golden era for firearms innovation. The lever-action rifle had proven itself to be a fast and reliable tool for both hunting and self-defense. What the market sought was a smaller, more versatile round that could be used in both rifles and handguns. The .32-20 was designed to offer reasonable accuracy and effectiveness for varmints and small game out to about 100-150 yards. The introduction of this cartridge coincided with America's westward expansion and it quickly found favor among settlers, ranchers, and lawmen.
Performance
Performance-wise, the .32-20 is no powerhouse. Out of a rifle barrel, the cartridge can launch an 80 to 100-grain bullet at velocities ranging from 1,200 to 1,700 feet per second, depending on the powder charge and bullet type. From a handgun, velocities range from approximately 850 to 1,000 feet per second. Given these modest numbers, the cartridge excels in its originally intended roles for shooting small game and pests. Its recoil is mild, making it a favorite for new shooters or those sensitive to recoil. However, it's not suitable for larger game or long-range engagements.
Firearms Chambered in .32-20
Several iconic firearms have been chambered in .32-20. Winchester's Model 1873 was the first, followed by the Winchester Model 1892 and the Marlin Model 1894. In the world of handguns, Colt's Single Action Army, the Smith & Wesson Model 10, and various models by Harrington & Richardson have utilized this cartridge. These firearms are often considered collector's items today, but they still perform admirably in the field.
What Has Superseded It
The .32-20 has largely been overtaken by more modern cartridges offering superior performance and versatility. Rounds like the .223 Remington, .243 Winchester, and even the .22 Long Rifle in semi-automatic platforms have outpaced it for most varmint and small game applications. Similarly, in handguns, the .38 Special and 9mm Lugerhave eclipsed the .32-20 in terms of popularity and effectiveness.
Current Use
While it may no longer be the go-to choice for most applications, the .32-20 has found a niche among cowboy action shooters, collectors, and those who appreciate its history. Reloaders still dabble with it, tweaking powder loads and bullet types for various shooting activities. It's still effective for what it was designed to do—small game and pest control at moderate ranges.
In summary, the .32-20 Winchester cartridge is a relic that refuses to fade into obscurity. With over a century of service under its belt, it stands as a testament to the innovation and ingenuity of late 19th-century firearms development. Although overshadowed by more modern calibers, it continues to hold a unique spot in the pantheon of American ammunition. The very fact that it remains relevant in some circles today speaks to its enduring appeal.
ETA: if you have the chance to acquire one in nice shape: DO IT!

What I love about this argument is that we’re both correct and both incorrect. This rule was so asinine and stupid and poorly communicated and poorly enforced (except when it wasn’t????!!!!!) that no one fuckin really understood the rule even to this day. I’m so glad they got rid of it. It made hockey a better game.
I joke about the Sabres salt but I also know that in a reverse situation I’d still be pissed too. (Actually, I am still kinda pissed because I had confirmed tickets for game seven.) I’ve watched endless videos about this from both angles and both angles have compelling arguments and 25 years later the only thing I’m certain about is the league called it good. Was that the right call? Fuckin…..no? Yes? Maybe? Was it 2am and everyone was tired? I talk my shit but, on the real, tumblrina to tumblrina? I still got no fuckin idea. I get it.
It’s high key the most insane ending to a championship game in any sport. This will be debated for 25 more years. And no one will say anything new! It’ll be an endless cycle of “HERE’S WHY THERE WAS NO GOAL” and “HERE’S WHY THE GOAL WAS GOOD” and Brett Hull Is A Cheater merch will still be made and Buffalo will still call it The No Goal while Dallas fans will say “IT FEELS LIKE 99 AGAIN!!!” anytime the Stars even glimpse a WCF.
But you know what I do know? Hašek was a beast. That dude could tend fuckin net. Memories of some of his saves live in my nightmares. Probably the most fun I’ve ever had watching a series.
I need the PWHL to expand I need every city to have a group of 20 bad as fuck enforcers willing to knock heads and make moves just walking around menacing the populace and signing autographs I hope this league makes a trillion dollars and has 76 teams and seasons last like 11 months and have 117 games per team I can’t wait to see which of these original six teams are hate respected in 27 years I fucking love hockey.

Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku
Dragon Ball Collection Box 2 (set b)
from Dragon Ball Z
by Unifive (ca.2004)
-------
Generic name, I know. But these were monumental Dragon Ball figures in the early 2000s. Sold in packages of 5, these were the true precursor to Banpresto's WCF line. For whatever reason, Super Saiyan 3 Goku is the figure that has stayed on my regular display rotation. But this set also came with Baby Goku in a Saiyan pod, the Namek Great Elder, Android 19 (with exposed brain) and Porunga. Each with a theme base bearing their unique symbol.
Unifive had a huge selection of Dragon Ball figures between 2002 and 2006.
They had the minifigure collection represented here, the poseable minifigures I showed last week, the Posing Collection - small blind boxed figures with a limited amount of articulation to get into a few signature poses - and a line of poseable 5" figures that were predominantly found as UFO catcher prizes. All with exceptional paint and sculpting.
In the early 2000s, while the Dragon Ball brand lie dormant - in the days before Kai was poised to truly reinvigorate the series - Unifive was carrying the torch. A designer toy company that saw the value in a classic - it was no surprise that Bandai bought them up in the early 2010s.

Ocs 👁👁 ? I would like to Hear them
OOOOOOOOOHHHHH BABY BUCKLE UP THIS BOUTTA BE A L O N G ONE
i'm only gonna get into the nba ocs that i have and not the like 27 other ones because issa BIG ass universe and i don't have the time nor space to talk about all of them in detail LMAO
the first one that i had was youngjae park (i created him during my kpop phase and i've gotten so used to the name that i'm not even gonna change it no more) who i had as a 7'1" athletic tANK on the blazers. kinda like nurk just a lot better and with a VERY weird homoerotic friendship with dame but that's beside the point LOL. he's the dude who went into isolation for four months and came back as super saiyan god mode korean jesus and averaged a quintuple double (dont question it.) and swept every award he was eligible for. he was drafted 16th overall in 2014 (at the age of 16 oops) by the blazers, won roty in 2015, dpoy in 2016 (my apologies kawhi) then had a terrible season in 2017 because of injures, still made the wcf with a mediocre blazers squad and missed the finals because of ONE (1) failed block on steph . then everybody was like TRADE THIS BUM I WANT HIM OFF MY TEAM but it was all sadeness when he went missing smh (hid in a small town in korea for dramatic effect because he's all about that camp shit) came back in 2018 opening night against the bulls (who dIDNT TRADE DROSE IN THIS UNIVERSE FAWK YALL) and from then on it was AAAAALLL downwards for the rest of the league. 2018 and 2019 were seasons in HELL for the warriors especially 2018 because he 112 pieced them on christmas in their own arena. threepeatdled with the blazers, got injured AGAIN in 2021 but dw he's coming for that revenge season in 2022. on his personality i'd say he walks the line between annoying and funny and does it in an exceptionally bisexual way because i said so . also he's very dramatic and probably mentally ill because a normal functioning person doesn't hibernate for almost half a damn year and then come back as a god
second one was actually youngjae's lil brother hyunjae (korean names are hard and there wasn't any other options man don't come for me) who is a whole foot shorter than his bro and plays as starting point on the spurs. he's a lot like ai in his play style but has a 3 pt shot that could beat stephs ass and was mvp in 2021. i also sacrificed giannis' championship season for him (oops sorry bout that) so him and the rest of the spurs (including keldon for better judgement) could be champions and san antonio has a legacy outside of tim duncan. ANYWAYS he doesn't have a dramatic ass backstory like youngjae but he did have a maniacal growth spurt in like two years (5'0 -> 6'1) and went from missing the playoffs without even making the play in to being a fourth seed champion in the league. he's a lot calmer and lowkey than his brother (because that bitch is BRASH but alas) and big men like pushing him around until they get the shit beaten outta them by cole grant (he's up soon). all in all he's very nice and also kinda annoying to the point that giannis intentionally pushed him in the finals lol but he has a good heart. 10/10 would recommend
next i have *checks notes* uuuuhhhh everett curtis (...) who's a 7'4" kinda lanky power forward that played in the 2000s. i always thought ai could've come further than he did if he had one other piece and everett is EXACTLY that piece except rett was actually drafted a year before ai did, 3rd overall in 1995. his career went pretty much normal, won an mvp in 00 (fuck u shaq) and a chip in 01 but after that was stuck on a somehwat mediocre sixers team outside of ai cause you know i had to do it to em. there was a whole lotta drama in the 2007 off season about him or ai potentially getting traded (kinda like the ben simmons shiii right now but more weighted) but in the end it resolved in a whole lotta nothing and rett actually re-entered his prime (?) in 2008 and won the chip with ai & melo on the team (melo has a whole autogenerated 2k career in this au but i don't have the time nor energy to get into that) anyways yeah rett eventually retired in 2015 after 20 years of the sixers (two years before ben simmons was drafted hooo lord he said i'ma save myself) and at age 39 and rn he's just kinda existing not doing a lot but he did write a book where he DOESN'T put his best teammate down relentlessly (feel yaself called scottie). as for his personality he's very laid back & calm and him and ai had a very...special bond, you may interpret that however you want LMFAO. overall a very chill dood and i wish him no harm even though i'll probably have to do it to him sorry bro
AAAAAAAAAND LAST UP the newest addition to the squad, cole grant. he was actually based off of this one dude my brother made in 2k (because his own character in mycareer was overpowered as FUCK and he wanted to make a realistic person) who was a 7'2" center with a giannis ass build who can't shoot a 3 for his life (that's what we have hyunjae for) and i put him on the spurs because hyunjae needs a friend. my dude was drafted into the nba at 23 in 2020 after a row of events that include him serving in the army because he didn't wanna pay for college but then realizing oh hell nah this ain't it and leaving. alas he's jacked as fuck now and has knocked a couple players out already (including jokic TWICE because he thought he could do sumn against his favorite little gremlin boy hyunjae) but when they leave his friends and him alone he's pretty chill. he's still underdeveloped because i just made him up like five days ago so if you want i can give more information on him later when i've developed him a lil further LOL. hwat i do know doe is that he and hyunjae have this typical "energetic small dude who's ready to fuck everything up" and "usually laid back big dude who can and will rock your shit if you hurt his friend" typa dynamic. is very funny 2 me indeed
sooooOOO that was it. that's the nba ocs that i have . again it's not all of my ocs because issa lOT of people but like i also have wnba, f1 and music ocs (the musicians root FAR back and are the start - the foundation of this entire universe of madness and unicorns) and i also altered reality to fit my agenda because reality can be whatever i want and it's GOING to be whatever i want
also thanks for asking me about them so now i can post about them on here because i've been Waiting to do that for a long time ily

Presenting this as an issue of men leaving women and children to die is cruel and misleading, and does not take into account any of the facts surrounding the sinking.
I didn't speculate on WHY it happened
I just point out THAT it happened, and that historically speaking it is no exception, it is the norm
Captains and crew survive at a significantly higher rate than passengers.
YOU are the one that immidiately jumps to the conclusion that men leave others to die
...
But yes ... there is a sexist component to it, if you want to go there
The water was cold.
I know
And men are more likely to die from Hypothermia
Propably becasue male bodies try to keep the whole body warm, while female bodies only keep up the core temperature
That's why men are more likely to die, and women are more likely to loose limns
This was not an isolated case
That is fact
So we can either now cry about "not all men" and put the fault entirely at the wether (becasue famously most ships, wreck in good wether) and the majority of women just so happen to collectively being bad at making good desicions* (which is not sexist at all ... )
-> which does exactly nothing to change WHAT EVER lead to the sadly statistically and historicalyl to be expected outcome of more women (and children) then men dying
Or we can ignore our personal feelings on the matter and impliment better safety procedures for emergencies so that next time the numbers, look better
*
small decision such as getting dressed meant that some did not make it out.
The Estonia sank on 28 September 1994
With 852 victims, it is to date the worst shipping accident in post-war European history.
The cause of the accident was the bow visor opening in the storm.
STATISTICS:
Young people, and especially young men, survived the accident to a greater extent than the other passengers.
485 of the 989 people on board were women (49%),
BUT only 26 of the 137 survivors were women (19%).
While 26 (43%) of the 60 young men aged 20 to 24 on board were able to save themselves,
only 4 of a total of 40 (10%) women of the same age managed to do so.
Of the 15 children (under 15 years of age), only one boy survived.
The losses were particularly high among the 301 people aged 55 or over. Of these, only 7 were able to save themselves, including 5 under 65 and none over 75.
Meaning, not much has changed since the days of the sinking of the S.S. Arctic in 1854
