Shinichi angst is so damn good. He's in his own body but it doesn't feel like himself. His life is "dead" even though he's alive. When he comes back he will never go back to his old self. He can go back to his body but his life will never be quite the same (for better or worse)

He was just a 17 kid who had dreams ambitions friends he had to "abandon". Imagine putting up an act 24/7 and not being truly able to say the things you actually want to. And yet- this false identity of his started to blend in with his "authentic" self.

He will have to "kill" Conan like he did with himself eventually. Like I know this this is the whole point of his character but I feel like it's easy to forget due to everything going on, and every so often I'm reminded of this and go bonkers over it. Does anyone get me 😭

I’m rereading Po3 and despite its flaws I really enjoyed the introduction to the three. Jaykit isn’t mentioned to be blind in the first few chapters and instead they chose to show how much MORE capable he is compared to his littermates; until at the end of chapter 3, he brings up his blindness on his own. It makes forcing him to be a medicine cat SO much more frustrating because it really feels like they’re setting him up to be a warrior and choose his own fate (note i haven’t finished the reread this is just my first impression)

I like how you seem to take that path in BB regardless! It makes his arc so much more enjoyable

His arc in canon is super frustrating because he's such an independent character who clearly wants to make his own decisions in life, but then he just gets shoved into the medcat den. I LIKE that he ultimately goes there and that he enjoys it; but it was still really fucked up that they stripped away his autonomy in the process.

Re: they are not real, they are writing choices. Taking away the choices a disabled character can make over their own life, forcing them into a celibate nun role, and then going "awwwww dont worry see? he likes it! This was the best thing for him :)" was fucked up.

And imo it didn't have to be that way! You wouldn't have to go the FULL route I did with big changes, he could just be more involved in the descision to stop being a warrior apprentice and it would be fine. Minor change that would make a world of difference.

I do also have to interject to say though... blindness should really not be an extremely severe impairment for a ThunderClan cat.

Whiskers are built-in sensors that tell you the exact position of everything within several inches of your head, ears swerve to pick up sound, and the jacobson's organ provides a sense of smell so keen that I have an entire Clanmew expansion draft because I needed to make WORDS describing the power of this sense that humans do not have. I cannot stress enough how delicate their other senses are, felines do not rely on their sight like primates do

ThunderClan lives in a mixed-oak woodland, where sight is already often obscured by foliage, objects are close together (for whiskers to feel), and nearly every movement makes noise against the leaf litter. RiverClan and (moor-running) WindClan cats would have a harder time with this disability than Thunder or Shadow.

Cat sight SUCKS to begin with. It sucks BADDD. They don't have color vision, they're significantly nearsighted, and they can't track up-and-down movements well. WC doesn't write realistic cats (more like small fuzzy people really) and I also work with more humanesque eyesight, but the only thing Jay should really lose is an ability to rapidly track a small animal swerving fast. Blind cats are often still excellent hunters in spite of that!

So it's an extra big waste that they railroaded him into a position he didn't choose, saying he couldn't be a warrior. This is the perfect disability to write, if you want to explore how ableism can impact the characters in this society who ARE legitimately still capable of nearly full independence, but still need to find accommodations for what they can't do.

In the same arc they're doing the dumb Cinder Reincarnation Plotline, no less!! Where SHE is also feeling like she has no choice over her "destiny," and gets a conflict over a potentially disabling injury

"Oh nooo if cinderpaw breaks her leg she wont be a warrior!"

"What the f-- Im Jaypaw and im reporting live from the scene where a Category 1 Idiot Moment is taking place. Woman breaks leg, suddenly everyone believes she is a horse, more at 11."

One of these days I should really make "herb guides" just covering how various sensory disabilities impact the lives of Clan cats and some tips for writing them as warriors, especially between Clans. Stuff you wouldn't usually consider, like how much noise deaf cats tend to make, how RiverClan would get a ton of sinus infections and lose their sense of smell, being blind in Sky vs Thunder, etc.

10 years of horrors.

Posting this a bit late but it's still the 8th for me so it still COUNTS WOOOO-- I had other plans I wanted to make but the lack of time prevented me from doing them. What I have here is what I decided to do last minute this week.

I liked the result of this so I think it was worth it. It's not a big deal but I couldn't help but do something for today's occasion.

I wanted to draw the guy himself so I used his design from the movie (because it's my favorite). It ended up being kind of a mix of how he looks in the movie but more screwed up. Movie!Springtrap maybe?? I don't know mate, I didn't think much of it, I just wanted to draw the rabbit (plus, the quote in the drawing makes more sense with him looking like this I think)

But yeah, 10 years of Freddy's. A whole decade, can you believe it? That long! Maybe I wasn't following the franchise from day 1 (I was late, early 2016 I guess), but I was definitely aware of what it was at the beginning. I still remember (I believe it was) the first gameplay I saw of the first game (it wasn't Markiplier's, though). A journey that could be said that yeah, it had its ups and downs, I still like and am interested in what this series has brought and will bring. Plus, good memories of mine were created from these games (and things outside of the games). And with the things shown this past week (plus other things shown previously), there are definitely things to be excited about for the future.

So, yeah. Happy birthday Freddy Fazbear! And happy 10th anniversary FNAF! Thanks for the scares and the memories. Let's see what the next 10 years will bring!

I just can't wait to find out what happened between Tarek, Rafael and Alessa. My current, very shaky theory is that Tarek punished or somehow betrayed Rafael in a major way, and Alessa sided with Tarek, thus earning the bastard's scorn. Even so, Raf and Alessa seem to deep down care for each other so I hope we can help them become friends again <:(

Interesting theory. 🤔 There's obviously some bad blood between the three, but a lot of history too. Guess you'll have to hear it from the bastard's own mouth or probe it from Alessa.

Just keep in mind that every story has three sides: one from each person and, somewhere in the middle, the truth.

... How the eye is looking at Six directly. Not towards Mono and Six together: just Six. That drawing is the same that appears painted on one of the walls in the Hospital and I think it's very interesting how the entire thing is framed.

Also, Thin Man being hidden in plain sight yet again... he's always there but you have to look for him.

Yeah obviously Nick isn't actually dead and Anthony just needed to find a way to get him out of the scene because Nick would have offered too many quick easy solutions to different issues because of his magic but also like... from a narrative perspective, imagine bonding with your father practically for the first time ever and then immediately seeing him get brutally cut in half. Firestar completely botched the claiming of the Queen’s Rights with Cloudkit. Utterly and totally. He waltzed straight into camp in broad daylight with an entire child, at least a month old, and when asked "what have you got there" he didn't respond with the customary, "a smoothie," but instead,

"This is my NEPHEW my sister GAVE him to me"

In an instant, he had unknowingly waived the Queen’s Rights. It is your right to NOT REVEAL the origin of kittens, and IF it becomes a problem, THEN it becomes a problem. When the origin is known and announced (such as via stealing or in this case, gifting) then the Queen’s Rights do not apply.

He did not break the code here, but Bluestar is within her rights to test his loyalty now, knowing he has been playing loose with the 'reject the soft life of a kittypet' part.

So kitten stealing isn't a concern here, but it wouldn't have been if he claimed Queen’s Rights either. It's also a good example of how the QR Code, if you will, is an IN-UNIVERSE law that isn't simply a "get out of jail free" card. It has customs and rules of its own.

Firestar is technically Cloudkit's Clan parent, but there's some odd technicalities because of this moment. Cloudkit isn't considered "full Firekin" and none of his kits or grandkits with Brightheart are "official" members of the bloodline.

Another doodle from a fic. From chapter 3 of Just Breathe. It is hard to draw oxygen tubes. They look very strange. Also Teru probably has an IV in but I said we can just imagine it's there haha Also who needs backgrounds??

Teru cut him off with a quick shake of his head, his smile so wide his cheeks hurt. “It’s okay, it’s just—it's just my emotions. It’s a lot to take in. I’m really happy.” He sniffs, the tears continuing to cascade from his eyes. It’s like someone broke the dam inside him and they won’t stop. He gulps in a breath, a whimper bubbling out of him. “I-I’m sorry I just think my brain is short-circuiting.” Teru laughs around his tears, finally pulling his hand from Shigeo’s grasp and furiously rubbing at his cheeks.

Shigeo sniffs, his nose squished and red, as his mouth stretches out into a lopsided smile, tears also pouring down his face as a surprising sense of relief washes over him. “Talking about our feelings at 3am was probably a bad idea,” Shigeo laughs. “Looks like I still can’t read the room.”

Teru shakes his head quickly, “Absolutely not, you read this room perfectly.”
