USA please listen to me: the price of “teaching them a lesson” is too high. take it from New Zealand, who voted our Labour government out in the last election because they weren’t doing exactly what we wanted and got facism instead.
Trans rights are being attacked, public transport has been defunded, tax cuts issued for the wealthy, they've mass-defunded public services, cut and attacked the disability funding model, cut benefits, diverted transport funding to roads, cut all recent public transport subsidies, cancelled massive important infrastructure projects like damns and ferries (we are three ISLANDS), fast tracked mining, oil, and other massive environmentally detrimental projects and gave the power the to approve these projects singularly to three ministers who have been wined and dined by lobbyists of the companies that have put the bids in to approve them while one of the main minister infers he will not prioritise the protection of endangered species like the archeys frog over mining projects that do massive environmental harm. They have attacked indigenous rights in an attempt to negate the Treaty of Waitangi by “redefining it”; as a backup, they are also trying to remove all mentions of the treaty from legislation starting with our Child Protection laws no longer requiring social workers to consider the importance of Maori children’s culture when placing those children; when the Waitangi Tribunal who oversees indigenous matters sought to enquire about this, the Minister for Children blocked their enquiry in a breach of comity that was condemned in a ruling — too late to do anything — by our Supreme Court. They have repealed labour protections around pay and 90 day trials, reversed our smoking ban, cancelled our EV subsidy, cancelled our water infrastructure scheme that would have given Maori iwi a say in water asset management, cancelled our biggest city’s fuel tax, made our treasury and inland revenue departments less accountable, dispensed of our Productivity Commission, begun work on charter schools and military boot camps in an obvious push towards privatisation, cancelled grants for first home buyers, reduced access to emergency housing, allowed no cause evictions, cancelled our Maori health system that would have given Maori control over their own public medical care and funding, cut funding of services like budgeting advice and food banks, cancelled the consumer advocacy council, cancelled our medicine regulations, repealed free prescriptions, deferred multiple hospital builds, failed to deliver on pre-election medical promises, reversed a gun ban created in response to the mosque shootings, brought back three strikes = life sentence policy, increased minimum wage by half the recommended amount, cancelled fair pay for disabled workers, reduced wheelchair services, reversed our oil and gas exploration ban, cancelled our climate emergency fund, cut science research funding including climate research, removed limits on killing sea lions, cut funding for the climate change commission, weakened our methane targets, cancelled Significant National Areas protections, have begun reversing our ban on live exports. Much of this was passed under urgency.
It’s been six months.

Cost-effective Packaging Automation
Packaging automation is a great way to optimize your supply chain. It can help you pack faster, ship more products, and reduce labor costs. Automation can even help provide efficiencies in areas like transport and storage, depending on the solution.
So, what do you think about when you consider packaging automation?  A lot of customers we speak to think that automating your packing processes will be expensive. They often believe it can be time consuming and require large machinery. But in reality, there are lots of quick and cost-effective packaging automation options available.
Packaging automation doesn’t have to be complex or costly. Here is a range of quick to install packaging automation solutions that don’t cost much:
Water Activated Paper Tape Dispensers
Introducing a water activated paper tape dispenser is one of our go to suggestions for customers. It can help boost your productivity and control material use. There are number of different dispensers available, and most will fit easily on to your packing stations and cost less than $1,500.
In practice, switching to water activated tape (also known as gummed paper tape), helped one of our customers achieve a 13% cost saving per pack.
Compact On-Demand Void Fill Machines
If you use manual void fill like packing peanuts or bubble wrap, upgrading to a compact on-demand void fill machine could help you save time and increase operational efficiency. Many tabletop void fill systems can be retrofitted to your existing packaging benches. This means you won’t need to shell out for an entirely new packing set up.
If you’re using a high enough volume of material, you may be able to use equipment free of charge subject to minimum usage agreements.
Battery Operated Strapping Tools
Using a battery-operated friction welding tool to fasten your strapping a simple way to increase your packing speed. An option like this doesn’t require the same level of investment as a completely automated strapping table but still gives you an edge compared to manual sealing and cutting.
Our range of tools are lightweight, have a high battery capacity for increased productivity and are portable – so you can use it anywhere in your warehouse.
Semi-Automated Pallet Wrappers
Wrapping a lot of pallets manually can be incredibly time consuming and create unnecessary waste. The cost to wrap your pallet will vary significantly, as it’s all down to human operation.
Introducing an automated pallet wrapper combined with performance film is often a quick way to reduce film wrapping costs and speed up your supply chain. Whilst you might need to invest up to $9,000 in a machine initially, you could cut your film costs by up to 50%, so you’ll receive a swift return on investment.
We help businesses like yours with packaging automation every day.  Almost any packing process can be automated including boxing, bagging, sealing, wrapping, and filling.
If you’d like to know more about the solutions we’ve discussed here or need help with any part of your packing process email [email protected] or call 813 242 6995.

Taking initiative.
Synopsis: While the rest of the team sees it as just another get-together at the local pub, this particular night is important to you; tonight, you will confess your feelings to Simon.
Relationship: Simon “Ghost” Riley x F!Reader
Word Count: 1,511
Notes:
I’ve wanted to write this for a long time but couldn’t find the strength.
Warning: This is not what you think it is. It’s pure angst/hurt, guaranteed to break your heart into a thousand pieces. Proceed with caution. (And no, no one is dying; calm down, jeez.)
———————————————————————
Your right hand is resting on your hip. The other is gently stroking your chin, taking care not to ruin your subtle makeup. You look at your wardrobe with a mixture of confusion and worry. It’s an oxymoron to have so many clothes but nothing to wear. Or, to put it another way, nothing to wear for the occasion.
This is the night. You’re about to do something you’ve never done before. You will attempt to flirt with Simon for the first time in two years. You can say it however you want: test the waters, confess your attraction, show him you care. Regardless of how much you teased your other teammates, it was something you’d never done before with him. Which brings up another oxymoron unrelated to fashion: why were you always so open with Gaz, Soap, and Price—the ones you only saw as friends—but so closed off with Simon, the one you actually wanted to attract?
You unhook a short, silky black dress with thin spaghetti straps. It will look great with your high-heeled sandals. You tilt your head at the dress and shake your head. No, it’s too sexy. Also, the weather forecast predicted rain for tonight.
You put it back in the closet and take out another dress, this one red, long and with a plunging neckline. You scoff; you’re going to the pub, not a gala dinner. It might be better to go with something a little more... inconspicuous.
Your phone dings. Soap just send a text to the group chat.
“Where the hell are you guys? I’m all alone.”
Then another ding. It’s Soap again.
“Never mind, Price just arrived.”
You put down your phone and return your attention to your wardrobe. You don’t want to be the last one to arrive again. You’d better make a decision soon.
So you choose something that makes you feel good rather than something that portrays you in a different light: a pair of light blue jeans and a cute green blouse. You wear it with your beige mid-heeled boots, grab a small clutch bag, and head to the bar.
You text Soap, telling him you’re on your way to the pub and he replies with a thumbs-up emoji. He must be pissed.
Walking towards the pub, it begins to rain, and you curse the clutch bag in your hands; choosing a purse that could only fit your ID and some cash while knowing it would rain was a foolish decision.
You quicken your pace as you notice the pub’s entrance. You open the door and take cover in the warmth of the room. It’s crowded, but you don’t mind; the more, the merrier, you think, especially with what you’re about to do.
You hear someone whistling and turn to see Soap’s hand waving at you. Price and Gaz are also here. Simon has yet to arrive, and you suspect he is stuck in traffic, especially if he chose to ride the bus instead of his motorbike due to the rain.
“You’re drenched.” Soap says as he examines you from head to toe.
You open your arms so he can admire your current condition. “Oh no, can you tell?” You mock him and excuse yourself to go the loo to ‘get yourself together’. A vague statement with multiple meanings—to them, you were going to dry yourself up. To you, ‘getting yourself together’ was mentally preparing for tonight.
“You’ve got this,” you tell yourself as you look in the mirror, “you can do it.” You take some paper towels from the dispenser and pat yourself while whispering encouraging words.
But then the restroom door opens, and you immediately stop the pep talk. You turn to face another woman who is in worse shape than you. You smile, and she smiles back, acknowledging each other’s presence. You take a few more paper towels from the dispenser and hand them to her. She chuckles and thanks you before taking your offer.
“At least it didn’t get my hair.” She comments, and you smile at her. At least you didn’t hear me talking to myself, you think and exit the restroom to make your way to your table.
You notice him from across the room, sitting with the rest of the team. You’ve seen him without his mask before. He repeatedly trusted you with his identity. He’s shown you numerous times how much he’s willing to risk for you and the rest of the team. How can you be so afraid? Perhaps he feels the same way. “You just have to take the initiative,” he’d tell you on missions, “don’t wait for them to strike first.” What if this was an indirect way of telling you that he wants you to take more initiative regarding the two of you?
As you get closer to the table, you perk up and decide to sit in the chair next to him; you’ll be able to “strike” more effectively this way.
He notices you and shoots you a slight smile that sets your insides on fire.
“Hello ther-” you start to greet him but stop when you see the chair you’re about to sit in.
A motorbike helmet is on—an extra one from the one Simon holds in front of him.
“At least it didn’t get my hair,” you reflect on your conversation with the girl in the washroom, and your heart sinks. You raise your head and notice her approaching your table. This is her helmet; she didn’t get her hair wet because of it. Simon gave her this helmet so she could hug him from behind while riding on the back of his motorbike. To protect her and bring her here to meet the rest of you.
“Y/N,” Simon says, looking up at the woman beside his chair, “this is Daphne.”
“We met at the loo, but didn’t properly introduce ourselves,” she explains, extending her hand to you.
Neither should we, you think and stare at her hand like a landmine, ready to detonate at any moment.
Pools begin to form in your eyes, and a lump seeks refuge in your throat. But you muster the courage to take her hand in yours. You squeeze it, perhaps a little too hard, and smile at “Daphne” with all that’s left of you.
“I-I’ll go get me a drink,” you say shakily and dash to the bar.
You stare blankly at the counter and rest your forearms on it to keep yourself from collapsing. You try to control your breathing while fighting the tears. Fight back. Fight them off. You’ve fought tougher enemies before; now fight the tears.
A finger taps the space between your forearms; It’s the bartender asking for your order.
You raise your head to meet her gaze, and her warm smile gives place to an empathetic frown. She’s seen that look before. She’s seen many people in your shoes—sad, pained, hurt.
“What can I do for you, love?” she asks quietly.
Your eyes well up with tears, and you shake your head.
“I need to go,” you say, and she nods as if giving you permission.
You race to the door, taking a quick glimpse at your table before leaving. Soap is on the phone with whoever he decided to booty call this time. Price looks at Gaz, who is still babbling about something, and Daphne is speaking to Simon.
But Simon ignores her. Two dark brown eyes have been following you the entire time, just as they do when you’re on a mission together, waiting for you to look back at them.
He says something to her and stands up, but you open the dorr as soon as you see him approaching.
It’s pouring outside, but you don’t care anymore. You unlock your phone and send a text message to Soap.
“Something urgent came up; I’ll catch up with you later.”
Lies. Straight-up lies.
You quicken your pace and don’t dare to look back. You don’t want him following you; you want to get lost.
But who are you trying to fool? You are the one who lost him.
Your tears blend with the rain, and you reflect on his words. “You just have to take the initiative; don’t wait for them to strike up first.” Well, Daphne has beaten you to it and struck first.
You hug yourself and feel the green blouse you so carefully chose for tonight. Green; the colour of new beginnings and the colour of envy. Another oxymoron.
You picked a good colour for tonight.
———————————————————————
A/N: To those asking if I plan on making a part 2, here’s the answer!

wip wednesday | mdni
thank you for tagging me @villainofmyownstory 🩵
-
you look down to see kyle's cum running down your inner thigh, and you have to laugh. you lean forward and brace your hands against the sink as the laughter spills from your lips. it isn't until your laugh becomes borderline hysterical that sobs work their way out of your mouth. you just let kyle fuck you in a public restroom while you were out on a date with another man.
when you finally feel yourself calming down, only then do you take a deep breath and look at yourself in the mirror. the sight that greets you almost makes you want to look away. your eyes are puffy, your mascara is running, and you have a pussy full of kyle’s cum. a small bubble of laughter makes it’s way out of your mouth at the absurdity of it all.
“fuckin’ hell,” you mumble to yourself, while reaching for the dispenser hanging on the wall next to you. you do the best you can with a handful of paper towels and hot water as you clean yourself off. when you’re done, your slip your panties back on and wash your hands.
you don’t leave the bathroom right away. there’s no way in hell you can go back out there to your date like this. you think of kyle and how he’s probably happy as a fucking clam while he enjoys his dinner with simon, johnny, and price.
your mind is already made up when you leave the bathroom and head straight for the exit. you don’t even bother apologizing to your date, you just block him and move on.

Could I request Alucard/Adrian with an s/o who uses food-based magic? Enlarging the food's size, turning anything she touches into food, etc.
Alucard + s/o with food magic abiliites
Tumblr media
The smoldering embers of the battle were starting to fade as the sun came up, and the night creatures retreated back to their holds for another day. For now, these people were safe. But at what price.
“It’s hard to say how many are dead. The magistrate is going to take a roster of the town to account for who’s missing.”
“God bless bureaucracy.” Trevor scoffed at Sypha, as he coiled up his whip and put it back on his hip. “Where would we be without lists?”
“Order gives humans a sense of purpose. A sense of control.” Alucard said. Looking around at the chaos still around them and wondering how these people were going to make sense of it.
“What these people need are resources!” Trevor hissed incredulously. “They don’t need an accounting system right now. They need food, water, medicine, homes. Does anyone really think knowing who’s dead and who isn’t is going help these people when their starving because the night creatures burned down the stores & larders? It’s stupid. What we need todo is work on…where is everyone going?”
During Trevor’s rant about the system, the 3 noticed that people were starting to shuffle off to one corner. Then they were running in the same direction. It couldn’t be them running for cover, as the attacks would be quiet until nightfall, so they went to investigate.
“What’s all this?” Alucard asked as he came upon the crowd. Huddled masses pushing and shoving to get to the front where [Y/N] was standing with a larger caldron, doling out what appeared to be soup.
“Wait your turn!”
Alucard glared at the nasty, but most likely just desperate man, who yelled at him. But before he could say anything [Y/N] called out, “hey! None of that! There’s enough for everyone so if you all remain patient and kind to one another, you’ll all get some.”
The trio didn’t bother with the crowd anymore and just circled around to [Y/N]. “Seriously, what is all this?”
“These people were hungry. I wanted to help.” They replied. Never stopping in their stirring or dispensing of soup.
“Where did you get the stuff to make it?” Sypha asked. “I thought the night creatures burned down the long-term stores and most of the provisions yesterday.”
“They did. But they didn’t get everything. And where there’s a little hope…” They picked up one sad looking carrot in their hand and, soon enough, the carrot had turned as big & plump as any prize-winning root at the fair. “We can all get by.”
Alucard smiled softly. He forgot, sometimes, that the had a knack for ‘food magic’. An odd, mostly unpracticed type of magic that used organic ingredients as their source. It was similar to potion making but with the trick they had developed for actually alternating the organic source’s size. He usually forgot since he didn’t need to eat often, and it wasn’t a magic that came up in battle, but of what a joy it was to have it after the battle it seemed.
“So, this is what you’ve been doing for the past few hours?” Alucard asked softly. Suddenly noticing the people outside the line with bowls and warmed faces.
“I’m…not as good at fighting the good fight as the rest of you.” [Y/N] said, sounding a little dejected. “But this is something I can do. Something I can do to help keep people safe.” They smiled at a young boy, dirty from the streets and probably hiding in a safe hole, as he gleefully took his soup and ran off. “I know it’s not much, but I want to help where I can.”
“It’s a lot.” Trevor pipped up suddenly. Getting all the group’s attention, as he had for once been positive on the situation. “I’ll go find what I can when I’m searching the perimeter. See if there’s anything else they missed.”
“Me too. I’ll see if there’s any other dishes we can find that aren’t broken. Maybe linens for bandages? I can help with that.”
Sypha and Trevor took off on their missions, but Alucard stayed behind. “It’s not nothing you know.” He told them when they were alone. Getting [Y/N]’s full attention for a moment as they looked at him. “It’s not nothing to help people. I can’t help people. Only protect. They aren’t the same thing, and…I don’t have a pure heart like you do to do it.”
[Y/N] blushed at Alucard’s compliment, and he leaned down to kiss their cheek before he left them to get back to their work. He had his own work to do, getting through the next wave. But between all of them maybe this town would make it.
In any case, for now, at least these people had a hot meal and peace of mind. If only just for a moment.

Unrequited Love (F!Reader x Price)
A bit of angst
Summary: Reader has been a member of the 141 for so long, long enough that she's loved her Captain for more than 2 years. But is she allowed to be with someone in the military, let alone her own Captain?
A/N: Reader's nickname is Lass. It's not reader's real name.
"Mornin', Lass." Gaz yawned, reaching for a glass cup before putting it on the coffee dispenser. "How'd your sleep go?"
"Fine, I guess," You sighed before giving him a small smile. "Ay, what's with the sad face?" Gaz raised his eyebrows, looking directly at you while grabbing his cup of coffee before wincing and letting go of the cup onto the table immediately.
"Ow! Why's it hot?!" You watched as he shook his hand a few times to loosen the pain. "Of course it is; you didn't use the holder to grab the cup!" You chuckled slowly, watching Gaz's movements.
"Lass?" While you were having fun watching Gaz, a voice calling your name from behind made you freeze. You knew who that voice belonged to all too well. Turning around, you saw Price watching your movements intently. "My office, please." He ordered–pleaded, you fought with your own thoughts. His voice sounded too soft—unusually soft—for it to not be a plea.
You turned around again to look at Gaz, giving him one last smile before standing up from your seat and following Price to his office. Upon arriving, you took a small, deep breath before entering his office with him as he closed the door behind you and walked in front of you.
"...Why'd you wanna see me?" You spoke first. Price stood a few meters away from you, but not too far away for you to not be able to reach him with your hands.
"...I realized you've been acting a little... off lately. Your performances have dropped both in training and on missions. I rarely even see you eating, as if you're in distress. Mind to share it with me?" Price spoke softly, his gaze searching yours.
You gave him a tired smile before replying. "I'm okay." You reassured him. "I guess I'm just stressed with work."
"Stressed with work to the point you've not eaten anything for two days?" Price exclaimed. "Don't act like I don't know. I've been watching your movements these past few days, and I noticed all of the untouched food on your plate. You didn't even drink a single drop of water!"
"I know work can be tiring, but that's no excuse for you to neglect yourself. And I know you've been skipping sleep, too." Price said, his voice full of worry and concern. "Please, tell me what's wrong." He begged.
"...what are we?" You muttered quietly, looking down to the floor. "What?" Price breathed, his eyes searching yours. "What are we, Captain John Price?" You spoke, calling him by his full name.
"Are we really just "superiors" and "comrades"? Do you really not have any feelings for me?" You said it, your voice trembling with emotion. "I've been acting like this because of you, Captain. You're the reason for my behavior right now." You confessed.
"..." Price looked at you before giving you a small smile. "...I do feel the same way, Lass. But you do know it's not allowed for us to be in a relationship here in the milita–"
"Then why did you kiss me that day? To give me false hope?" You interrupted, looking up at him intently. "To play with my feelings and then break my heart? Is that it?"
"Lass, please—don't go there." Price warned softly. "Go where? I'm right, aren't I? You only kissed me to play with my feelings. Otherwise, we wouldn't be here today."
"I know it's wrong, Captain, but if you really do feel the same way about me, then you would try. But I'm not seeing your efforts." You sobbed. "I've loved you for so long, and when you kissed me that day, I thought my dreams were finally coming true. That I could finally be with you. Yet I was wrong." You avoided his gaze, turning around before twisting the door handle and opening the door.
"I hope you know that what you did really broke me." You said this before walking out of his office and closing the door to his face before he could run after you.

1100 hours. 9 hours until drop off.
You're in the dress.
You were still reluctant to wear it after the scene you caused in the briefing room when you were told you’d be the honey pot, but Ghost had convinced you in your bedroom with a surprisingly gentle kiss before you could pack your things and leave.
It took at least an hour of wrestling on his part to get you to put the dress on in the first place, even after the kiss you shared, as you fired a litany of "No! Get the f-, Simon, no!" at him as he wrangled you into the safehouse bathroom for you to change. He gently, yet firmly, pushes you into a stall and holds it shut from the outside. You give the door a good kick in frustration, but you have no option.
Once the dress was on and you exited the stall, the other TF141 men had already shuffled in to see the commotion and stared at you with wide eyes as you exited the cubicle, but they did not speak as Ghost stood behind you with a gentle hand on your shoulder, proud of his convincing method. You glare at the others as Price hands you the high heels with a coy smile. You snatch them from his hands as you roll your eyes.
"What? Did you buy makeup too?" You groan as you start to put them on.
"Not exactly."
Price motions a finger beside him as Ghost extends his hand to you, a small, flat jar of black warpaint in his hand. It's his own that he uses on his own face behind his mask. You look at the jar and then up at Price with a raised eyebrow.
"You want me to seduce the asset with that? You might as well put Simon in the dress."
Price gives you an irritable look as Ghost softly chuckles behind you. You roll your eyes again as you take the jar from his hand, making your way to the bathroom mirror to try and figure out how to apply this gunk to your eyes convincingly. You feel the eyes of the other men stare at you as you look at them in the reflection.
"Get out!" You bark at them in frustration, completely irritated that you've got such perverted teammates. Every man shuffles out of the bathroom except Ghost, who stands with arms folded as he watches you try to apply a small amount of paint to your eyelid in the mirror. You figured as much that he would stay, but it doesn't stop your annoyance at the situation.
"You too, big boy," You say in a defeated groan. "Not much for you to contribute here." You continue as you try and smudge the paint inwards toward your lash line with your finger. Sure, you've worn make-up before, but you've never had to go all out with it to seduce someone - let alone with the tar-like substance that had been provided to you. You groan in frustration as your finger goes too far and smears paint onto the bridge of your nose, letting out a soft "fuck" as you try and use the water from the sink to wipe it off. It refuses to budge no matter how hard you try and rub it off. What do they make this out of? They wear this shit into war?
"Let me help you."
You scoff as you look at Ghost in the reflection, as he pulls a paper towel out of the dispenser and folds it. He comes up next to you to run the paper under the faucet.
"What, you gonna do my lashes or something? Braid my hair, too?" you mock, although you're curious about what he wants to do.
He raises the now-damp paper towel to your nose as you pull away with a scowl, not giving in to what you think is his ploy to try and make up for his strange and distant behaviour over the last few days and the kiss you shared earlier.
The feeling dissipates as you feel him grip your jaw and pull it around to face him, his eyes sharing their own look of annoyance.
"Now, is that any way to talk to your Lieutenant?" He whispers, his left hand gripping your face tightly as his right dabs the paper towel lightly on your face.
You can't help but tense your body as your eyes are forced to meet his focused gaze. There's no denying that you're vulnerable at this moment. Your heart races at a rapid speed as your face begins to blush. You're his - you both know it - and yet he still wants to push and pull you around like a ragdoll to get your attention. You definitely still have that lustful feeling for him, but you can't shake the feeling that he's using you for an ulterior motive - like you'll be cast aside after this mission once you seduce the target.
"I'm sorry, sir." you admit, your voice trembling and muffled slightly as you softly speak through his grip on your jaw. He wipes away the paint silently as you speak again, "I-I just feel like I'm left to be the vulnerable one while the team does the heavy lifting."
Ghost only speaks softly, his tone far more casual than you'd expect from a man holding your jaw in his vice-like grip. "You won't be vulnerable, love; I'll be in your ear the whole time. You'll do as I say, and I'll be nearby if you're compromised."
"But... I don't even have a weapon to defend myself with."
Ghost pauses as he looks at you with a puzzled expression. He hadn't considered that. He lets go of your jaw as he lowers his left hand to his thigh, unstrapping his knife holster. He sets it in your hands as his answer.
It's not ideal, but you can make it work.
