The king of all exercises, deadlift weightlifting exercises work your entire posterior chain (back, glutes, hamstrings). Start with proper form and gradually increase the weight. Strengthen your back muscles with this fundamental barbell row exercise. If you can do them, pull-ups are a fantastic way to build back strength and grip strength. Modify them with assisted pull-up machines or rows if needed. Target your mid-back muscles with controlled rows using a cable machine. Finish off with the classic bicep curl exercise. Use dumbbells or a barbell while maintaining proper form.

my dearly-held self-insert thing for the Batfamily is they’re highly trained gymnasts, athletes, fighters, etc etc, but even they despair when Bruce makes them do weighted Bulgarian Split Squats and I STAND by this

Final day of zoom class this week, sooo excited to be done. Hard to believe Match Day is only 1 week away.
30nym challenge Day 23: How do you balance physical activity with your routine?
I exercised regularly until about 2020/2021 when Covid hit, all the gyms closed, and med school started. I got pretty out of shape between 2021-2023. Now that I have time over the next few months before intern year starts, I've started lifting 3 days a week and doing cardio 2-3 days a week, mostly zone 2 with 1 session of HIIT per week. I'm excited to get stronger and improve my cardiovascular health.

okay shitty aunt finally commented on my weight sorta <3 sick to fucking death of people thinking I started working out again cause I want to lose weight. no I fucking don't. no I fucking don't and that's very confusing to your very small brain isn't it?? if I wanted to lose weight I would be dieting and if I was dieting I wouldn't have deadlifted over 100 fucking lbs yesterday. christ. I don't want to feel like my body is withering away anymore.

so there’s this gym thing (I promise this is related to the Batfamily just give me a sec) where people will do kind of odd looking activities in between weightlifting sets (repetitions of a move) for various reasons. sometimes because they’re riding high on 300 mg of caffeine from their preworkout shake, sometimes just to keep their heart rate up in between sets so the whole session is “exercise.” sometimes it’s just to keep your heart and lungs going so your exhaustion doesn’t dip too low and your exertion doesn’t go too high, both in relation to the other.
a lot of times this looks like: busting out pull-ups between other exercises, using other machines, walking around quickly, pushups, etc. yesterday I saw a guy rolling around on the floor like a worm near the bench press. anything to keep the energy going, right?
which brings me to my question: what kind of odd exercises do the batkids do on patrol to stay awake and in the exercise “zone”? pull ups on random drainage pipes? push ups? jogging?

im not against exercising in general. in another life if i wasnt horrifically sick in high school and kind of small/wimpy i actually think i would be a jock bcuz i loved playing sports as a kid BUT i absolutely will not leave the house under any circumstance for exercise. even just going on a walk outside a couple of times a week is asking too much of me apparently. i need to get a treadmill or something before my doctor starts yelling at me for not exercising when im supposed to GIRL THE EXERCISE IS OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE!!!! AND IM INSIDE!!!!!!
anyway when people say like "exercise" and "going outside" helps depression its like Ok well im not doing that so now what
