BETTER CALL SAUL!
#this was mostly a test run on procreate dream!#its pretty good but it has a LOT of room for improvement#which i know the developers have been working on since the app is still technically in beta!#but hey i did this in like 3 weeks while working a full time job and also working on other art so#its pretty damn powerful software#good shit if you use procreate already!!#literally the biggest flaws rn are a lack of selection tool an undo/redo button and#and the app itself has a tendency to crash or slow down if theres “too much” going on#like i had to delete all but one of the preloaded animations just so the app would run smoother while i worked#so its still very clearly in its early phase but its good and im excited to see what the developers will do with it#ok review over#better call saul#saul goodman#bcs#jimmy mcgill#breaking bad#animation#brba#video#procreate dreams

So basically just put your business and ads in the
I’m working on a website for my game where it’s gonna be full of ads since the fandom wants it to be free so I’m gonna comply… btw I’m looking for ads or promotions to feature there. If you have a business, YouTube channel, or social media profile you’d like to share, let me know! I’m interested in connecting and helping promote different creators and projects. Just looking for cool ads to add to the site. I’m not gonna tell you which game but it’s indie

Not sure where to ask this, so im posting here as well as some forums BUT:
Basically I really love using Figma for making interactive menus. I have used Figma for mocking up websites and mobile apps before at my job, and in my odd time I’ve taken to using figma to prototype and make sketches of things like UI and flowcharts for the game my friends and I are developing. And even more recently I prototyped a fully custom, nice-looking, interactive character sheet for my character in the current campaign im playing.
Now, It’s got me thinking: I would really, really love to build custom character sheets for people as a side job as its something i genuinely enjoy doing. But the problem is, figma will not exist forever and I have foreseen that it might be a pain to build someone a prototype and I am the sole person to make updates whenever their character levels, they get new gear etc and I don’t really like the idea of forcing people to make an account for a tool they wont want to learn or use outside of the prototype i send them. Additionally, Figma prototype is ultimately not ideal for more distinguished and specific character sheets as I’d like for it to be.
For example, I would love to make buttons that a user can tap to mark how many death saves they have succeeded or failed, I want the user to be able to mark for inspiration and conditions, etc. I know I could possibly feasibly make it work all inside one scrollable frame, but the way I prefer to set up the character sheets requires navigating to different frames with buttons.
What other good alternatives are there? I like to make these character sheets for mobile use (phones and tablets) so should I jump to app development? I don’t mind learning new or more complicated softwares, just as long as the software is free, there’s a free trial long enough for me to learn the gist of the software, a single larger purchase for a license for a good amount of features, or the cost for subscription is low. Is Godot a good software to use for this? My team is learning godot anyway for our game as we were discouraged from Unreal Engine.
#data diary#figma#dnd#character sheets#i dont really know what else to tag with this lol#tech help#software development#godot#mobile apps#app development

This is a genuine question I have: do y'all think I'll be able to put the sfth fandom wiki in my resumé as "experience with building websites"?
#my post#cause like I basically had to learn an entire markup system that's very much *not* intuitive#and I created like most of the pages#(shoutout to emu for creating the other ones)#so like theoretically it could count right?#idek what I want to do in the future but if it's something in the software development field#having this sorta “experience” would be valued#can you imagine if my sfth brainrot went so hard that I made myself more appealling to future companies

i like doing art i wish i could just do art
#also i think taking diphenhydramine for too long has exacerbated my stomach issues#and i think it is maybe not healthy for me to keep trying to suppress my natural sleep schedule#the thought of being a self-employed artist is terrifying but that is maybe where we're at so i don't die by 45 :|#i already gave myself one pain disorder just from stress and sleep deprivation lord knows what else i could fuck up in my own body#but i like coding too..... i would've been a good software developer 😔#being disabled is all about giving up on your goals and dreams ✌️

how do i even explain what i want to do with the hex’s story the game is already a big “god(more of a title here) is evil and it hates you” i’m literally just doing that again but worse
#shape game posting#Creation hates itself and runs in circles trying to bite its own tail off. Wows.#I like the idea of cycles and loops and history repeating itself thats presented in inscryption so like#What if that had more basis aside from just the weird self-destructive-yet-never-destroying code#I like when deities are just really pissed off it tickles something in me#I’m NOT religious and no i DON’T hate the concept of a god but i find this fun ^_^#“God” is not a developer it is the software itself. The gameworks is a festering ball of anger#and it imbeds that anger into anything that comes out of it#Its portrayed as an organization in the game world but i do like to think whats holding it all together is its own god-like being#That’s the thing actually making new npcs and characters and stuff#Lets be irrational and pained with all seeing mama ❤️#It does not like anyone or doing anything it made authorities and people like irving so it could have something to speak for it#And it ends up hating him too so literally biggest fumble of all time#< that does not make him sympathetic it makes him worse.#Biggest (early)difference from canon is that it brings him BACK just to kick him around#It can do that btw it just never wants to but it just hates him that much i guess😭😭#Imagine thinking ur special and exempt and above everyone and then you get personally beaten up over and over#So deserved yes boy suffer. Suffer boy. /NOT aff 👎👎👎👎👎👎#shape au talk#< if i yap again. I might. Taps chin thoughtfully

On the one hand: Monorepos are a blight
On the other hand: Dependency management is hell
On the gripping hand: I don't care how you do it, but documentation should be kept up to date with changes in software features
#this brought on by a SAAS project whose key paid feature was almost entirely undocumented in both developer and user-facing docs#and what user-facing documentation there was did not match the newly-revised UI#software development

if i hear another person talk about a retro game, system, or computer having a specific "soundfont" i think i'm gonna lose all will to live and spontaneously drop dead in front of them
#juney.txt#not how it works besties#older 8 bit machines generally had bespoke synthesizer chips that could output some square waves and some noise.#maybe some sine and saw waves if you were lucky#the megadrive had a yamaha chip in it but sega the bastards never gave devs proper instructions on how to use it#so a lotttt of devs just used the inbuilt settings on the development software they had#so a lot of megadrive games sound similar even though the system was technically capable of a lot more </3#the snes was allllll samples all day#any sounds you wanted you had to hand to the chip in advance#no inbuilt synths for you#anyway in all of these cases music data was just stored as raw computer instructions.#literally just code telling the audio hardware what to do each frame#no midis involved and simply slapping a soundfont someone made on a midi file someone else made does not constitute an ''8-bit'' cover

uh, oh! did we get so hyperfixated on dostoevsky and then teaching ourselves emerging and novel areas of international and us federal regulations that we forgot to eat or sleep for two whole days again? silly girl!
#it's okay it's cool it's fine#i took a nap#and im shambling down the street for the large iced tea and croissant#that will reintroduce enough liquid and calories to my pitiable body#to soften my gaunt and byronic mien#in time for the client call i have tonight in which i will explain 2% of the information i binged#while he rubs his face under his glasses and makes pained noises#while somewhere his software development team implements a feature that we begged them not to implement three months ago#which they will tell us they did in approximately two weeks#mere days before they intend to launch the feature.#and then what has come to replace my menstrual cycle will begin again.#except they dont make IUDs that stop software engineers

I forget how different scientists and engineers are. What do you mean you want to meet on zoom for thirty minutes to talk at a high level. I want to look at four numbers for three hours in an office together
#my advisor wants a web based platform . I think we have a complex database that needs to use the university in house software developers#but I need to know what costs might be and how maintenance works and they’re using so many words in these emails

S1000d Software Working Process - Code and Pixels
A new buzzword in the technical publishing world. New word? Not exactly new, but surely it’s a new word in the Indian Defense Technical Publishing segment.
S1000D is an Interactive Electronic Technical Publishing(IETP). It’s also called #ietm too.
S1000d is not new but very few Indian companies, which support documentation of foreign Airline documentation are similar to #S1000d word. But almost 90 % of the people who do S1000D conversation do not know what s1000d is.

👀👀 rlly interesting read on ovan, would love to hear some abt ur hcs on him n corbenik
(Now on DW!)
So it's been a hot minute since I watched Terminal Disc so my memory of the details of the canon are very vague, but I definitely think it's likely that the Epitaphs attached themselves to players in reverse numerical order, making Ovan the first and unintentionally the template for how becoming an Epitaph-PC would play out.
Corbenik is sort of funny as a Phase because the way it's laid out in the Epitaph, Corbenik serves no function until the Wave wipes out its intended target, and it's left behind to observe the void. As long as the system state isn't disturbed and no new AI begins to emerge, Corbenik stays passive theoretically forever -- but once it is disturbed, it rouses the rest of the Wave to come clean up what was left unfinished.
(I recognise this isn't how we see it play out in R1, I'm basing this on the idea that Morganna designed the Wave to be essentially self-propagating against Aura. The stalemate is the point, the rolling waves razing any fertile ground for her to develop on in favour of perpetual despair and the call of the void.)
With Corbenik as the rearguard of the apocalypse, it could have easily been the most active (least inactive?) of the Phases during the period of calm after Aura takes over Morganna's duties -- with no AI competing with Aura available to suppress, it was essentially on standby, latching onto Ovan the moment he showed up and then doing nothing until it registered the AIDA that also attached itself to Ovan.
Which is the thing that really fucks Ovan over, I think. The body timeshare he has with Tri-Edge is stressful enough, but Corbenik is also perpetually making him identify himself as the greatest threat to system integrity. So he's essentially getting a triple dose of the Epitaph "the solution is Fucking Kill Yourself" heightened self-destructive urge -- from the nature of the Cursed Wave, from the Vagrant AI-fication of the Phases and being (in part) his own natural-born enemy.
On top of this, Corbenik is perpetually calling to the other Phases like "over here! I've identified the enemy! Here is an AI we need to stop from reaching self-actualisation!" So candidates are drawn to him, unconsciously recognise him as having seniority, and then immediately identify him as the threat to be eliminated. People keep forming a kind of proxy disordered attachment to him, feeling compelled to follow his orders but also feeling threatened by his presence and become driven by the urge to destroy him.
Haseo is particularly vulnerable to this because Skeith and Corbenik are so intertwined in their roles, the first Phase is the one the last calls the strongest, and his personal sense of betrayal only amplifies the destructive resonance. And the influence goes both ways, the more Skeith perceives Corbenik's host as the main threat, the more Corbenik calls on Skeith as the vanguard to eliminate that threat. Haseo's (perceived) perception of him directly influences Ovan's perception of himself -- with everyone else Ovan is very particular about asserting his own reality, but with Haseo, the way Haseo sees him takes priority over how Ovan sees himself.
#van's answers#anonymous#dothack#.hack//g.u.#Ovan#Avatar Corbenik#GU spoilers#<- for my friends who are still playing the games#I have a lot of feelings about how the Cursed Wave is basically the software version of weaponised depression#And about how the games are overall very clear about how happiness and emotional connection aren't frivolous but rather essential to life#Corbenik as the 8th Phase is the pure distilled idea of 'there is a way out and it's by dying in your egg without ever hatching'#and it's supported by the other Phases in creating a vision of the world that has nothing worth living in it#as much as you're afraid of death -- look. See. What else is there?#They're out-of-proportion feelings of doom aimed to keep a consciousness that vastly exceeds human comprehension from having any hope#AND CC CORP JUST FUCKING SLAPPED THEM INSIDE SOME PCS AND GAVE THEM TO PLAYERS LIKE 'here you go! Here's your Personal Cataclysm Gun!'#The real enemy in dothack is closed source software development and corporate vanity
