I think the Looky/Lucky Mart arc is becoming one of my fave gsgw arcs yet. It's great for a lot of things:
Kim Soleum, former (alleged) financial sector worker, being utterly baffled by the state of the retail/service worker's workplace environment & conditions (the cramped break room, weird shift rotations, the staff looking barely "human" on their breaks and back to their plastic presentable selves while on shift, the long working hours causing staff to go haywire and malfunction, repeating the same stock greetings/phrases until it was just garbled nonsense, etc. like yes KSE we really do live like this.)
Kim Soleum being so good at "acting" pathetic that even a lost high schooler couldn't really trust him at first (also hilarious that he's really down about this lmao, "Should I have acted a bit more dependable..." This is karma for you pushing all the responsibility on Bronze, man.)
Conversely, Kim Soleum being a bit too competent and so used to his usual Daydream workflow that he ended up thinking several steps ahead of agent Bronze and missing him after they split, having to re-evaluate the situation by readjusting to Bronze's presumed expectations of him (i.e. a pathetic, snot nosed rookie who wouldn't make any rash movements) to find him
Also Kim Soleum... Once again proving himself quite capable even without the help of Braun... That's right baby, you're more than your slightly codependent ex situationship!! You're a strong independent worker!! #GetOverHim
Go Yeongeun revealing more of her personality!! She's someone with similar levelheadedness as Kim Soleum, but she's not as "gentle" as presumed. (Grumbled about being nearly led to her doom by her irresponsible work senior, frustrated by Kim Soleum's lack of awareness and self preservation, dissatisfied with Agent Bronze's apparent lack of gratitude especially considering what she's witnessed her good colleague agent Grapes has gone through, nearly yelling at Director Ho.) My darling bites back!! Barely restrains herself too lmao I love that. She's also very quick witted and incredibly skilled. I'm wondering if she's done her residency as a former student, or has done volunteering work in the red cross... it seems she's quite used to handling emergencies and calling the shots.
Kim Soleum, you're not a coward. I don't think any coward has this little self preservation in them. I won't describe what he did to get their ticket out of there, but know that it's... Quite a lot. But at least we now know he has the grit of a Saw trap survivor! Yet another thing he would excel in! Yay!
Also adore Kim Soleum & Go Yeongeun's comradeship. We all need coworkers who we can sit and sigh with about the workload together and how much we hate our jobs.
Agent Bronze's emotional roller coaster...(being nearly made mince meat, resigning to his fate, then being given hope by his delightful work junior, then finding out said newbie/junior managed to help him by sacrificing something meant for himself...) This man is living in a romcom K-drama with a touch of thriller elements.

Personal Update
Hello everyone! To all who celebrate, I want to wish you a relaxed Easter. That's what I'm having too. My family except for my brother is in England visiting my sister, and my brother and I engage in lots of co-op gaming Factorio (why is this so addictive?). Tomorrow, I will bake an "Osterzopf" which translates to "Easter Braid". It is a sweet light bread made with yeast that is braided (hence the name). We traditionally serve it for breakfast on Easter Sunday. We eat it sliced with butter and jam on it. Slightly breaking with tradition, we'll have it in the afternoon tomorrow (also because my sleep schedule is a mess once again and that will be closer to breakfast time for me anyway).
The reason why I can relax without nagging thoughts is that I finally finished the paperwork for financial aid, at least for the first contract application. Apparently, our convoluted bureaucracy demands that I first apply to and fail to get regular financial aid for people who can still work to then apply for the one for people who cannot work. That means it's a lot of paperwork and things to collect, print, and ship off. Luckily, I found a really great person at the social psychiatric services who is helping me with everything.
Now can spend this easter weekend with a proud feeling of accomplishment. And I allowed myself to do whatever I want, really only doing what I want. Doing that without feeling guilt is a rare thing for me, but very welcome since I feel like I have been stuck in a hamster wheel forever (one that doesn't even turn properly).
Scaling back on Tumblr and Sims is also proving good for me. I feel I'm a bit less anxious. I also get creative ideas every now and then but I'm allowing to just let them be instead of guilt-tripping myself into needing to act on them and getting frustrated when I can't. I only want to create when I really want to and I'm mentally all in, not to ease any guilt I have, which has been happening and is ruining the fun of it and even kept me from opening Photoshop/Blender/the Sims 3 at all.
I often find myself involuntarily comparing myself to people who are able and achieve much more than I can even on a good day.
Trying to stop that is the hardest thing and it's why I decided to minimize my tumblr time for the time being. I need to stop comparing myself and stop pressuring myself.
I also have perfectionist tendencies that make it much harder to be satisfied with what I create, and I need to get out of the negative feelings. I may have to try to change my workflow in the future or set myself a limit on how much I can edit/revisit something so that I don't spend time being burnt out on fixing tiny mistakes in my patterns and then get scared to publish anything because things might not be perfect. It's my biggest struggle that has been making it difficult to publish patterns.
For example, I have taken pattern collections and cut them in half because I changed my mind last minute about the quality of several patterns. I'm sitting on hundreds of patterns with little flaws, maybe a missing horizontal and vertical version, or some small continuity issues, or it doesn't have a color scheme I like or looks slightly off in the game.
Maybe they will forever remain a WIP, maybe I will fix them up one by one someday, maybe I will put them out as half-baked. I don't know what will happen, but one thing is for certain, I don't want to pressure myself into doing anything with them. It has to happen because I really want to.
I also feel guilty showing WIPs that may never even get to you. But if I don't post WIPs anymore, I hardly have anything sims-related to post apart from reblogs and a few tutorials here and there (which also take a lot of energy to make). I guess most of you know that my WIPs are pretty much just eye candy at this point. I have been struggling with this for years now, and the more I struggle, the harder the mental strain. Deciding to step back is also because I just can't take the internal guilt anymore. I want to return to a place where it's fun to create and share and I don't do it because of a guilty conscience. It's also hard to accept that you're not able to do things that worked previously. But I have to face it and accept it and then maybe I can slowly pick it up again when I have made peace with my feelings and get other parts of my life in order.
I want to create things because I want to create them, and really wanting to achieve things that I'm unable to achieve at this time is just not healthy. I was beating myself up mentally far too much and losing energy through it. I need to take things slow and focus on my life, how to cope in healthy ways, and regain some of my functionality piece by piece. It's going to be a long and slow process, that's for sure. But I'm actually optimistic and hopeful about it.
I don't think that means that I will stop creating altogether, or stop releasing patterns completely. There will be less pics and content on my blog, but I don't plan on stepping away for good. I feel like I need a reset and reboot and that could take a while. I think I will still occasionally write a post like this and reblog stuff though.
