Okay so I’ve spent the last couple days on Twitter (@kacievvbbbb if you wanna join me 👀) just fucking yapping about my new found obsession with the idea that Mihawk not only reads but is an active and well loved contributor to the pirate smut genre all across the blues. And I just needed to bring this to tumble to get more thoughts on it.

Here are mine;

- he obviously writes under a pseudonym would be funny if it was an anagram of like Worlds Strongest Swordsman or something.

- he writes essentially y/n fanfiction but he is always the reader.

- he is heavily perfectionist about his detailing of things like bodice ripping and that has lead to many a fun night for Shanks as he discreetly tries to rest just how exactly a bodice ripping would look and feel. Or if this sex position is even plausible.

-this one was a combined effort between @Dior and myself but he writes all the lovers as much more of an active participant in sex than the pillow princess himself actually is and this is because he thinks he is putting in exactly the same amount of work into sex as Shanks is which is laughable.

-Benn features heavily in alot of these RHP smut books. Benn

-He mostly writes RHP smut but he will branch out to other pirates like Crocodile maybe Doffy 👀. This gives Shanks heart palpitations when he finds out all this smut has been written by Mihawk.

- Mihawk almost kills both himself and Shanks by drowning the first time he finds out that Shanks knows about his little hobby.

- Shanks regularly requests they try something from the book and Mihawk has to stomp down the urge to throttle him. But again Mihawk’s reader is a much active participant in sex than he is and he is not a fan of all this work he has to put in even though he enjoys the results. Shanks is highly amused.

- Shanks for the first time in his life becaomes an avid reader with a habit and this confuses everyone that doesn’t know what he is reading and suffers Benn greatly who does.

- Shanks is lowkey very into the stories where the “reader” has sex with other men. He starts setting plans in motion.

- Mihawk also collects a lot of pirate smut a lot of it is about himself as well and this is his equivalent to jerking off. His next favorite people to read about are of course Shanks, Cricodile he is ashamed of just how much Doflamingo smut he owns. Lowkey maybe some King smut too.

- a contribution from someone on Twitter tha I live is that he also grades said smut about himslef and then sends the notes to the authors.

- he pseudonym is well known and well lived in the community.

-this is infact where more than half of his riches comes from.

- yes he also does read marine porn. He steers clear of anything that even remotely mentions garp tho. His favorite marine to red about is Sengoku I don’t fucking know 😭. I can just imagine him seating in warlord meetings shipping Sengoku with random fucking marines and pirates as he is trying to talk about very serious business

- he sure write the well known and well loved “the red haired emperor & me” series which is published in Morgan’s magazine or whatever and Shanks always seeks him out no matter where he is and fucks him good and hard everytime a new chapter goes out.

- he continues to do this while at Cross Guild Buggy and Crocodile are non the wiser. His crocodile descriptions start to get more detailed a clown pops up every now and again in his writing Shanks might be on the verge of a heart attack.

- shanks is a little too invested in the situation some (Benn) would say.

I will no longer write for other AUs for Welcome Home (please read in full)

TW: Mentions of NSFW/pedos

I know some people only followed me because of a fic or two I might have started writing on for another Welcome Home AU, but recently I have started to notice the increasing toxicity of the fandom overall. Yeah, I've been other fandoms I know there is toxicity and I know there's a lot of nice people in this fandom, but I have NEVER seen it this bad. Out of all the fandoms/fanbases that I have been in, I have never seen such a huge problem regarding pedos, NSFW art/writing being shared and looked at by minors despite the creator's wishes, general toxic behavior, and a large amount of mentally unwell people working their way into groups of children or safe spaces. I ended up having to delete quite a few NSFW art pieces on twitter because I found minors had seen it and some guy decided to make a comment on my OC Lilith that I was not comfortable with.

I also do not feel alright having to restrict myself on what I write or draw because a single person might be "triggered" or "offended" by it. I know I put warnings when they are needed, I should not have to feel like I'm walking on eggshells in this fandom. I do not need anonymous asks telling me how I should and shouldn't write or what I can and can't say.

Because of how bad it's been and seeing more and more creators leave the fandom, I have decided to no longer engage in other AUs or creators unless it's from a follower (I know you guys are fine), friend, or person I know I've talked with before, OR if it's Clown himself. A lot of people forget that Welcome Home isn't what people keep writing it as. Welcome Home isn't even close to being done, we're just riding off the AUs right now. It really rubs me the wrong way that all I ever see on AO3 now with fanfictions are smut fics mainly and some pretty disturbing stuff.

There is so much, too much, s3xualization in this fandom and the romanticizing of serious and dangerous themes/topics. A lot of times believe or not, when I draw buff characters with no shirts, it really is just anatomy practice. I do not understand some of the comments I get sometimes in my inbox. Yes it's fine to tease a bit, but my goodness some of the comments I have seen before are concerning. I never intend on s3xualizing the characters and yet I always get anon asks going a bit out there with s3xualized comments. It's why I haven't really drawn that stuff in a while. I can't tell if people really do s3xualize that stuff or if they're seeing it as anatomy practice with a bit of tease like I do.

I have been bottling A LOT of things up recently and it's hindered my ability to really write or draw how I want. I'm always scrapping ideas and giving up halfway through.

It's always "Is this something that people are going to s3xualize?" "Is this something that might offend someone in x category?' "Will people like this new character?" "Am I good enough for this topic?". It's not healthy and I know that it affects my creativity and mentality, I won't be restricting myself anymore though. I will write/draw what I want, just please heed my warnings when I put them there and don't ignore my boundaries or the boundaries of others.

Now, regarding my own two AUs (I dropped the Dream one because I have something special planned for TFP), The Finfolk AU and Alive AU. I WILL continue writing/drawing for them. They are my own AUs with my own characters added in them. A lot of people that interact with me are followers and I know you guys would never disrespect my OCs or invade boundaries and I love you so much for that. Of course my rule on requests remain the same. NO NSFW for the normal Welcome Home, but NSFW is allowed for Finfolk AU requests.

Unfortunately, all of this does mean I will not continue the fic I was writing for @clownsuu Mob AU. I'm sorry, I just really do not feel like writing for an AU outside of what I know in terms of the person who makes it. I am not sure how to explain it other than I don't feel alright with it unless it's like an AU from someone I know or at least talked to before? Just at least a person I know on some personal level. I don't want to explore the fandom right now, it is a mess with the people in it...do not take this the wrong way, I DO NOT hate anyone outside of the people I know, I just don't feel comfortable in the fandom at the moment and I will not leave you guys behind either. So in short, I plan to just stay in my own lane so to speak and do what I can for the ones who follow me for what I do.

I will however finish the Villain fanfiction as it's not exactly anyone's AU? Not sure how to explain that, it was a series of asks for it. And obviously I will make a full long fanfictions for the Alive and Finfolk AU.

I know I said I don't want to vent on here, but it's getting hard for me to ignore. Everytime I type or pick up a pencil to make something on here it doesn't feel right.

Hey! You’ve inspired me and I think I might try writing fanfiction for One Piece! Is there any advice you can give me? I’m just starting out writing for fun/writing fanfiction but you just make it look so fun! Thanks and continue your fantastic writings, I can’t wait to see what you have next!

Oh my goodness, congratulations on the start to your One-Piece creative journey!! I am absolutely enamoured to be a part of this next step to your pathway to wordsmithery! I have only been on this little journey myself for less than a year, but if I was to advise myself back then with what I know now, I would offer this:

For practicality: treat each section of writing like it's being read by a narrator. Sometimes the spaces between dialogue is boring, and needs a little pizzazz (for me anyway). If you picture a voice narrating it out loud, it may have the words flow easier. Personally, I hear Amelia Tyler (Narrator for Baldurs Gate III) between the dialogue. Makes it more fun.

Fanfiction is a community. That's the part that makes it exceptionally special and almost sacred. Interaction with artists, other writers and creators doing the same thing can lead to places you never thought they could. We're all here to support one another, and we're all here because we love the same things! Do not feel intimidated to reach out.

Have fun with your writing. You started this because you wanted to be a part of the party, to be in on the action, and to interact with these beautiful characters in this magical world. If you want to write a "self-ship", and "x reader" or a "character x character" - do it for you, and do it because it's fun. We're here to read the world you create, and your fun and joy can be tangibly felt through the screen.

I'm only here because I wanted to kiss a clown one time. Now I've got a collection of fics and friends who I absolutely adore - who also wanted to kiss the same clown.

<3 Wow, since I've been writing fanfics for years, I have so many to choose from. But let me stick to my reader-insert-focused darker fics that I post on this account.

1:

The Man Who Claimed To Be Yours – Fandom: Joker 2019, Pairing: Arthur Fleck/Joker x (Female) Reader. Explicit with lots of warnings. By far my proudest (and smuttiest?) work.

By far a number one position. Not only do you people seem to love it, I have received so many messages of readers going back to the story for the umpteenth time to reread it all. (And you have no diea how those little messages strengthened me when my health abandoned me). You devour it. And even I have been rereading my own tale several times and enjoyed it. So yes, I definitely want to write an ending to it. I also have plans to have the full story out before Joker 2 comes out.

Fun fact: The entire fic was inspired by the gif I added above)

Pine Cone Child – Fandom: Enola Holmes, Pairing: Enola Holmes/Linthorn (one-sided & Noncon), Enola Holmes & Sherlock Holmes. Explicit with lots of warnings.

I got a big thrill sending these chapters out into the world and found myself on a roll with this fic. The idea came with one scene, of a boy meeting his biological father, and realizing that he had a far more gritty past than he always had assumed. But to get to that chapter, I had to write many more. In the end, that chapter was never posted online. And the chapters I had finished about Enola and her mother visiting Linthorn’s grave and the chapter that was to follow after got lost when my laptop crashed. I was also too ill and too tired to write, so it never reached its end. I am not sure if I will ever finish this one. I think, it is pretty okay as it is. Even if I never got to the ending the whole idea sprouted from in the first placed. For now, it is on hold.

3. Removed Fics/Or old account fics:

The first multi-chapter fic became a success, many years ago. I will not name the title, the quality is shite compared to what I write now (still shite, but different shite). One of the first fandoms I wrote fanfiction in was Inu Yasha. The much-explored ‘Inu Yasha scampers off with Kikyo and Kagome finds comfort in Sesshoumaru’s arms’ was still new, there were about 20 fics or so about this pairing in English. The encouragement I received made me want to keep posting my work. I still receive reviews for these fics.  

4. A deleted Sweeney Todd Smut fic, featuring Sweeney Todd x Lovett’s daughter. I might reupload this one day, perhaps as a reader insert.

But because I want to tag a tale: Have you tried reading my dark romance (aka, Reader let yourself be kidnapped by a slasher guy)  The Chance to Make A Change. Fandom: The Black Phone. Pairing: Albert Shaw ( The Grabber ) x (f) Reader. Explicit. Loads of warnings.

I am surprised by how much feedback and likes I received on this, even if the numbers of hits and kudos on AO3 are low. But for the short tale it is, I like it. Because it shows a budding relationship over time, cut into short chapters, and has a little evil twist at the end of it. Also, I could totally live with this happening to me, if I were the reader.

No Family Man – Fandom: Joker 2019, Pairing: Arthur Fleck/Joker x (afab) Reader. Mature with warnings.

Another one of my fics I love to return to, and that was generally received well. It started as two imagines which I then combined. It has lots of personal experience elements in it that to me, make it all the more special. What they are, I will leave for you to guess.

I would love to finish the Princess and the Clown - Joker 2019 fanfic of Arthur Fleck/Joker x Reader I once started. Perhaps rewrite it a little. Same for my Benvolio x Mercutio Hanahaki Story (you Shakespearean lovers might know me of my many Tybalt x Mercutio and Mercutio x basically anyone fics).

I have a few Star Wars Reader Inserts that were never finished but tickle my fancy. Mostly Reader x Kylo Ren or Reader x Hux (or both lol).

By far most of my proudest fanfics have been personal gifts to friends. It is how I started writing when in High School, and I still gift fics for people's birthdays. I especially like the Sherlock Holmes range I did for several friends, in which my friends always ended up being the evil masterminds who outsmarted Sherlock and Watson. But also, because I had illustrations to go along with these fics. <3

But first, I need to finish a whole list of unfinished works: starting with a Crimson Peak inspired modern reader au that has been pending for over 2 years, as well as the Joker fic mentioned on number one. Then there's a summery romantic Arthur Harrow x Reader tale I want to gift to someone on here, and a Harrow Patient x Reader fic that wants to be written in between.

Not to mention the many Arthur Fleck x Reader prompts I have pending. I LOVE YOU, KEEP SENDING ME STUFF <3

i love reading things set in countries that i'm knowledgeable and/or have been to because i can point out really minor errors in fanfiction. i think the average american does not know that in england (and apparently some of asia! which i only just found out) there are switches on power outlets so you can just turn it off instead of unplugging it. like 9 times out of 10 that won't come up but on the off chance it does i'm like ohoho. this clown has never been to england...! my favorite part though is watching americans (specifically americans because i swear to god people who speak english as a second language and/or are from any other country have some idea of what it's like to have an accent / personally know people who have accents? idk) try to write british accents like it is REALLY funny. i literally only lived their for five years and i never picked up a full accent myself (certain words and tones i did but they're mostly gone after living in the states again for a few years) but between living there and having a ridiculous amount of family there & visiting them often (like once a year if im lucky) i like KNOW what british accents sound like. i think some americans genuinely dont even know theres more than one or two english accents i think some people think there's like posh english and chav english and nothing else. maybe scottish accent gets thrown in there if they remember the uk is not in fact just england. i would bet real money they've never heard a welsh accent. anyway my point is it's really funny watching people who don't know as much as i do write this stuff. like i see it and i understand how doctors read this and go Oh that is so medically inaccurate. i get them now. anyway i dont remember what my point here was but please know if you are attempting to write a british accent. reddit and youtube are your best friends if you don't have a british friend you can ask and also rest assured even if you do ONE google search. it will not be the worst attempt ive seen guaranteed

I don't know how everyone else writes their fanfictions (or stories in general) but here is a little insight of how I do it.

Often my scenes start with having ideas for conversations [Which is weird, because I struggle with writing conversations - I have a hard time to make them sound like people would actually say them, so I almost always sound them out, which has my running around my kitchen talking to myself at weird hours of the night.... anyway]

So I have ideas for conversations - often times while at work, because my creativity hates me - and I jot those down in my notes app.

Just verbatim speech after verbatim speech, often without even indicating who says what. Sometimes, when I want something to be said a certain way, I put a little indicator behind it, to remind myself what I wanted it to sound like.

And then, once I have the time to actually write my story, I transfer all these Speeches into a Word Document. And then I start writing the scenes in between the Speeches and once I reach one of the speeches I rewrite them to fit the scene or paceing or just general moment they are happening in.

And, I tell you, I get so excited, when I am about to reach one of my "Speeches" because that is usually what I am 'working for'

Let me demonstrate it with this example (spoilers for 'An Emperor's Fear' Chapter 3)

Now, the scene where Shanks discovers that Crocodile has been hurting Buggy started out like this:

Now mind you, my phone is in German so this, one of the first things I wrote about the story, was written on the 7th of May at 7:24 am - before I even published the first chapter. (Also, fyi, I do not care about grammar or spelling in my notes app!)

And that turned into this:

[...] For a second, both men just stood there, staring at each other, neither willing to break the tension. Then, his voice low, dangerous, Shanks asked the question. “Did they do this?” A pause, a breath. “It doesn’t matter.” From his position, Benn had a hard time seeing Shanks’ face, but he could imagine the sadness that was probably portrayed in his eyes. The anger, the pain. “It matters to me,” he finally said. “Did they do this.” There was no need for him to elaborate on whom ‘they’ were. One of them was sitting on the canapé, not far from Buggy after all. The Clown swallowed while staring into Shanks’ eyes. All grandeur had seemingly vanished from his body. He nodded softly. “Mostly Crocodile,” he finally admitted. Shanks’ hold on Buggy tightened a little bit, and Benn could tell that he had a hard time keeping himself from pulling Buggy against his chest. Behind them, Benn could see Hawkeye crack one of his eyes open. Whatever was about to happen, he was ready to fight. Shanks, however, still only had eyes for his friend. “Okay,” he said. “Then I’ll kill them.” And just like that, the spell was broken. “No, you won’t!” Buggy used both of his hands to shove Shanks away from himself, while at the same time taking a step back himself, to further the distance between them. “Buggy, they are hurting you.” Shanks insisted, a hinge of desperation present in his voice. “I don’t care.” “I do!” [...]

Now, whether or not you consider that well written or a good scene is up to everyone's own interpretation or taste, but what I am trying to say is:

If you are someone like me, who struggles with finishing stories, or moving them along, give "writing the little things, the ones that come to your mind immediately, first and filling in the space between afterward", a chance. It works for me.

Doesn't mean it will work for you as well, but maybe it's worth a try.

Disclaimer: This is a fan-translation for the Japan-exclusive novellisation of the movie Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva. The original novel was written by Aya Matsui under the supervision of Akihiro Hino, and belongs to Level-5.

This translation only aims to be a pleasant read for non-Japanese fans, nothing more: I made a few deliberate changes while translating in order to get the writing style closer to what is usually found in English fanfictions, as the Japanese storytelling can sometimes be different than what we are used to.

Contrary to the first puzzle, the remaining contestants did not immediately leave. They stood still, sometimes glancing at each other, as if probing each other’s movements.

“The largest crown…”

This mutter had come from a girl whose golden hair was tied up with a ribbon. She looked to be around the age of a high schooler. Aside from me, I was certain that she had to be the youngest among the participants.

“It appears that the organiser of this game likes to gather people around in the same place…” an old captain mused to himself. I remembered seeing him on the deck earlier.

The gorgeous lady who had also been on the deck took over the conversation.

“The ship is decorated with quite a few crowns here and there… It will be difficult to compare all their sizes within the time limit.”

“Then this means that the crowns on display are…”

“…all decoys to mislead us?”

Just a few instants before, we had heard once again the screams of the other contestants. A heavy atmosphere seemed to flow among those who remained in the hall, as everyone wanted to hear a little bit of the others’ opinions…

Was it a sense of solidarity? Or perhaps, on the contrary, they were probing each other in an attempt to assess their ulterior motives… It was probably the latter.

After all, only one person could win and gain eternal life.

“Professor, can you solve the puzzle this time?”

Janice was also anxious.

Alright, I would figure it out this time, and I would let her win the game.

“Well…” The professor was about to answer her question, but I decided to interrupt him.

“Professor, I’ll take care of this one!”

Both Janice and him looked a little surprised at my enthusiasm.

“Luke…?”

She remembered my name! That alone made me a little happier.

“It’s all right, Janice! After all, I’m the professor’s ‘apprentice number one’!”

I proudly flashed my pointing finger in the air as hard as I could. When she saw this, she started giggling… That too made me happy. I did not mind looking like a clown if it could make her smile.

“You have a very reliable apprentice,” she told the professor with an amused tone.

Alright, I could not afford to fail this puzzle. I immediately opened my notebook and drew a picture of a crown.

“The biggest crown…” I mumbled while thinking. “A crown… crown…”

The voice telling the puzzle came back to my mind.

Ladies and gentlemen, are you enjoying your ride on the Crown Petone?

“That’s it!” I had just been struck with a flash of inspiration. “We are now on the Crown Petone!”

“Well done, boy!”

Those words from the man with the hat and beard took me by surprise. I was so focused on solving the puzzle that I had completely forgotten about the many people that were standing around me.

The man in the hat made a short run for the door.

“If I remember correctly, the entrance to this theatre had a sign in the shape of a large crown, with the words ‘Crown Petone’ written on it!”

“Oh yes, it was a fairly large crown!”

“That’s it! It has to be!”

Everyone in the hall rushed to the exit.

They had all listened to my reasoning. With this, I would let Janice win! I was so proud of myself.

“Professor, we should go too!”

The professor was smiling. “Indeed we should, Luke.”

The three of us were the last ones to leave the theatre.

But as we walked down the corridor, I became more and more worried… The people who had left for the entrance were nowhere to be seen.

Janice would also turn her head and look behind us in search for other people, so she surely felt the same.

“Have they all made it to the entrance already?”

The professor did not answer.

Janice informed in a reserved whisper: “But… isn’t the entrance the other way around?”

What!?

“Professor, we must have taken a wrong turn! We have to go back!”

But as usual, he remained perfectly calm.

“This way is fine, Luke.”

“But…”

“The sign on the entrance is also a red herring.”

I widened my eyes in confusion, mouth agape.

“The ship was decorated with crowns all over, making everyone believe that they were decoys, and inciting them to go to the entrance,” he explained. “But… This is not the right answer either.”

“What do you mean?”

“Only one person can gain eternal life. These puzzles should not be too easy, otherwise everybody would be able to get them right…”

The professor continued to unravel his reasoning matter-of-factly.

“…And here is the clever part: after solving the first puzzle correctly, we had all been gathered in one room. So naturally, when the second puzzle had a similar wording as the first, we would tend to assume that the next puzzle would follow the same pattern.”

“Professor, I’m getting a bit confused now…”

“It’s alright. You will see soon…”

Suddenly, the professor stopped. We were just in front of a door that led to the deck. He opened the door and encouraged me to come out first.

As I walked out, I saw a row of suspended lifeboats. Several people were cooperating, trying to lower them into the sea.

There were the old captain, the girl who had blonde hair tied up in a ribbon, the gorgeous woman and the muscular man who looked like an athlete, that we had seen earlier… Then there was an explorer-looking man with a big backpack…

The lifeboat that the explorer was trying to lower suddenly lost its balance significantly.

“Whoops, be careful there. May I…?”

The old captain went to his rescue and took the reins, showing him how to handle the rope.

“Huh, you’re doing it so easily.” The explorer man was gazing in admiration.

“I’m the captain of a trading ship, I have devoted my entire life to this. The name is O’Donnell,” the old man said while quickly tilting his hat. “But, we should hurry and keep the chat for later.”

I looked around, seeing other people having similar interactions. What on Earth were they all up to? My mind was completely at a loss.

Janice went past me and approached a lifeboat too.

“Mr Whistler,” she called out.

“Janice,” he responded in a breath.

It was only upon hearing their voices that I realised… Mr Whistler and a little blonde girl were there too.

The little girl’s straight hair, parted down the middle, looked just like Melina’s photo from the brochure. Maybe this was the girl from the letter who had claimed that… she had eternal life?

When she saw the professor approaching, she fidgeted and quickly hid behind Mr Whistler’s back. Before the professor could say anything, Mr Whistler introduced her:

“This is my adopted daughter, Melina.”

The professor remained silent, staring at the girl. So she was named Melina too…

From behind us, a voice rang out with disdain.

“Tsh. So you solved the puzzle too, after all.” It was the man in the hat.

“Indeed.”

The professor smiled at him. Even when addressing disrespectful people, he was never going to be rude. After all, of course, that’s what a gentleman should do.

Still, what was that man talking about? I thought he was the one who had praised me earlier for solving it!

“Ugh. Great, even more competitors.”

That was the man who seemed to be an athlete. He also sounded extremely annoyed.

Everything made even less sense than before. Everyone else obviously knew what was going on, and I seemed to be the only one left in the dark…

I couldn’t help but tell the man in the hat what I thought. “But— You were the one who said earlier that the sign at the entrance was the right answer!”

“Tss. I want eternal life, boy, so I tricked those idiots. And I had to act quickly too, before you’d start spouting even more hints…”

“Spouting hints…?”

I really was completely clueless. I had no idea what was going on anymore.

So I came across @shiba-deer's ship ranking post and I thought "fuck it. i'm gonna do one, too!" 😝 I tend to agree with most of their points with just a few differences including the addition of shitty Canva edits by me.

Disclaimer: As the title suggests, these are just my opinions. I know some folks may disagree and that's okay! I'm not trying to flame anyone or start any drama, so please keep it chill. We're all just clowns here. 🤡

SQUIDBOB - god tier

Ah yes, SquidBob. The only "god tier" ranked ship on this list. Are we surprised? There are just so many great moments between these two and so much that could be said. Alas, I'll spare the long monologue and just say that their dynamic is absolute perfection. It's literally the basis of a great, slow-burn romance - you can't make this shit up. I love "opposites attract" for the exact reasons that I disliked some of the other pairings on this list. It's notable that while Spongebob is mostly cheerful and exuberant and Squidward is mostly grumpy and reserved, that isn't all they are; Squidward very much has a fun side just as Spongebob has a serious one. They keep things interesting and bring out the best in each other (whether Squiddy wants to admit that or not), in spite of their differences. And per this post, they actually do have a lot in common as well! I could wax poetic about why a fucking sponge and octopus are literal soulmates, but idk. I just think they're neat. 💖

PLABS - top tier

Now this was not a ship that was initially on my radar when I first joined the fandom. But I am happy to say that has definitely changed and it is now a favorite of mine! I love a good friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers ship, and Plabs is one of the best. I feel like they have such a "will they, won't they" thing going on that leaves me on the edge of my seat. I definitely want to look into them more. And who knows? Maybe I'll get around to writing a fic? 😉 As for canon, I could list various examples but there is just so much compelling evidence in favor of this for me not to ship.

KARENDY - top tier

This is a ship that I have grown to really enjoy. While I would like to see more of them together in the show, the few interactions we have gotten are great fodder for a budding romance. I like how they have so much in common (ex. intelligence, interest in inventing), but not to the point where they clash (which I likely will talk about later in the list) and it actually benefits them and adds to their connection. They just have so much potential! They inspire my creativity the more I look into them. I mean, c'mon. Sandy literally said Karen was "beautiful" and Karen's wiki says her relationship with Sandy is "a purely positive one."

SQUIDLIAM - top tier (as exes)

This list simply wouldn't be complete without this pairing. If you've read SquidBob fanfiction, Squilliam is the perfect villainous ex-boyfriend. 😈 It could be that I'm a sucker for villain redemptions (spoiler: i am) or perhaps @misslattesart has made me consider alternative possibilities for this character (probably both tbh), but I find myself increasingly intrigued by this dynamic - particularly Squilliam's motivation for constantly trying to outdo Squidward when he appears to have it all. While I'm part of the majority of fandom that headcanons them as exes, it's evident that they were definitely romantically involved at some point. But I do agree that they would inevitably find themselves in conflict eventually. After all, they broke up for a reason.

PLANKBOB - mid tier

Fun fact about this ship: PlankBob actually got me into the fandom (more on that here), so there's a level of fondness for me there. However, it is purely on a crack-ship basis and I've more or less stopped shipping it since joining in favor of other ships on this list. But idk man, it's just a funny dynamic.

PATWARD - mid tier

This is such a hilarious and chaotic match that literally no one would see coming. I think everyone probably knows about that one moment in Kamp Koral. I can't find the clip right now but, I mean, what the hell even was that?? Still, I'm only giving it a "mid tier" rank as, like PlankBob, it's more of a pairing that I'd ship ironically.

SQUIDVIA - mid tier

I mean, Squidward went on a practice date with Spongebob, who was significantly more interested in him than Squilvia was. She didn't get all that much screentime, despite her being the girl Squidward was presumably trying to impress. I'd argue that Squiddy wasn't all that into her either, but rather the idea of her because they are so similar and he thinks that's the kind of person he should be with. I don't really feel any sort of way about this ship, but their relationship probably wouldn't last. SquidBob FTW.

PUFFKRABS - bottom tier but would be mid tier if not for their bullshit (very confusing, I know)

Surprisingly, I do feel like this pairing has potential... if it weren't for a major Plankton-shaped obstacle holding them back. I've touched on this a bit in my fic, but apparently Mrs. Puff and Mr. Krabs have been/were secretly dating for 16 years. Now, 16 years is not a number to scoff at. However, the "secretly" part is giving me pause and sending up all the red flags. 🚩🚩Both of them are single/divorced/widowed/etc. They are not having an affair. So... why keep it a secret? As far as I'm aware, neither of them have any reason not to be open about it (assuming that I'm not off base about this whole secrecy aspect). Sure, not everyone needs to be in their business. But then it's implied that even Pearl doesn't know. I have no idea who made the call but if I was Mrs. Puff and everyone, including my boyfriend's daughter, was in the dark about our relationship and he made no moves to give me any sort of real commitment after over a decade... I'd start to wonder what the fuck was up.

PATBOB - bottom tier (sorry 😔)

I was really conflicted on this ranking because PatBob has all the makings of a great ship - they're best friends, they look cute together, and they have a lot in common. However, the reason I ranked this so low is mostly because their friendship is so much stronger than any sort of romantic connection. I feel like whenever these two are put into a remotely romantic scenario (ex. when Spongebob they raised a baby scallop), that's when the cracks start to show. As friends, they have a great dynamic and are so funny together, even when they get into arguments/spats. However, as romantic partners, it feels unnatural. As shown in the episode I mentioned as an example, Patrick gets to be his silly, lazy self whereas Spongebob has to take the more serious, rational role - which is not his natural inclination, even if he has that side. I just can't help but feel like this would become a pattern if they were actually in a relationship. I live for best friends-to-lovers... but this ship is not the one.

PLANKAREN - bottom tier

I was originally going to rank this "hell no tier" but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen - mostly just a prime example of compulsory heterosexuality (this was a great response on the topic). I still dislike the pairing quite a bit though. Like, are they even married? The two of them are so off-and-on, hot-and-cold together and there's just something so... forced about it. I just think they both would be so much happier if they weren't together, you know? I don't doubt that they support - and maybe even love - each other a bit, but to quote my own fic (not to plug lol): "you can love and care about someone without being in love with them."

SPANDY - hell no tier

I've never liked this ship, even prior to joining the fandom. Hell, even when I was a kid and didn't know what shipping was, I still felt there was something off. As I've gotten older and wiser though, I think it really comes down to Sandy and Spongebob having virtually zero romantic chemistry. Nada. Zilch. Despite SBSP being episodic in nature, their dynamic consistently gives me sibling vibes - which does not translate well into a romantic connection at all. They're just miles better as friends and I don't see that changing in the slightest.

(And this is just a personal nit-pick vs. a solid point but I find myself put off by the frequently OOC portrayal in fanworks - particularly for Sandy, who is actually one of my favorite characters. I know as writers and artists, we're going to take some creative liberties. But if you have to drastically alter a character's personality and/or physical traits to suit your ship narrative, it's probably not a good ship. 🤷)

SQUANDY - hell no tier

I do love seeing Squidward and Sandy getting along and being pals - I mean, look at this interaction (sorry, couldn't find a better gif)! However, any sort of romantic connotation gives me a serious case of the "ick" (SquidBob be damned, honestly). Hence the very low ranking. They are strangely more believable than Spandy, but that's probably the only redeeming thing about this as a ship tbh. Otherwise, it's a "hell no" from me.

MINDRICK - hell no tier

Not to be that person, but even if there was genuine chemistry... let's just say Mindy doesn't just look young. I even Googled it for you. You're welcome.

Depends. I write often on the impulse,seeing the scenes before write them, immerge myself in the scenes,until i need to go to sleep, when i m in a writing session. Sometimes I have ideas which turn out differently as if the characters guide my hands XDDDD I read myself a lot of time for be sure to make less faults XD Sometimes i write my chapters like Verne did (i learned this technic in a litteracy course : writing chapters by ideas you will use in this chapter ). But i use this when i have a good idea and i m afraid to loose how i want to build my chapter XDDD Sometimes i write the feelings the characters feel, to be able to immerge myself in when i take back the writing XDDDD

Hi, I just wanted to say Nhthcth is my favorite TMA fic ever.(sorry this is so long)

The different ways it’s written is so cool and fun, I especially like the bit in the theater with Grimaldi. The characterization is amazing - I love your Jon so much, he’s been through so much, but is still trying to help everyone in anyway he can(just like in the podcast), not to mention you’ve somehow made a character that literally never shows up in the podcast be so fun and enthralling (I can’t imagine Danny in any other way now)

I know there are a billion AU TMA fics out there, but so many of them are time-travel fix-it (which is fine, some of them are really cool) But I really like what-if type fanfics, and yours is, in my opinion, one of the best out there.

I could literally go on about it for days, it’s so good! Once I get an ao3 account, I will probably comment on like every chapter, picking out the bits I really like; if you don’t mind that is, I don’t want to spam you with comments on old chapters. (Sorry if this is weird or creepy, I just really like your fic)

the theatre bit with Grimaldi i feel actually ended up being pivotal to how nhthcth ended up being written. I remember that when I first tried writing that chapter, I struggled a bit with how to best convey the stranger, and I ended up experimenting with the theatre script format and it just clicked. then, danny and jon were trying to outrun a REALLY fucked up clown and danny was catching jon when he was jumping and kicking grimaldi in the face and i was like "oh this is fun. this is so much fun" and it kind of gave the license lean into more experimental formatting and a little bit of slapstick. that chapter/scene really changed a lot of how i approached nhthcth for the better.

Danny is one of my FAVORITE characters in nhthcth and he actually isn't fully from nhthcth. I have this really elaborate, ridiculously long story plotted out that I affectionally call the himbois AU starring Gerry, Jon, and Danny. the idea is that Jon has a run-in with Agnes Montague while he's still at university and finds himself free of strings that Mother would really rather he kept in, and somehow spiraled into Jon, Gerry, and an amnesiac Danny Stoker running a ghost hunting youtube channel as a cover for supernatural shenanigans that accidentally blew up and became famous. it's basically just buzzed unsolved and famous for the air of skepticism they bring to supernatural investigations--because jon and gerry could NOT take some old houses with bad insulation seriously when they were on the run from the spider that tried to eat jon in childhood.

i actually got back into fanfiction because of it--i wasn't publishing anything for years, just writing it for myself, and then i started explaining this story to a friend who was really into it, and especially danny's character. when i decided to start putting my stuff out there, I already had nhthcth planned and decided to try for that one. danny stoker was already in the plans for, but he wasn't anywhere close to the danny that ended up in the final product of nhthcth. i ended up adapting the danny from the himbois AU for my friend who loved him so much, and he's much better for it.

i think i'll always be partial to himbois!Danny as like, my favorite mental version of danny stoker, but nhthcth!danny is extremely important to me too. i'm really thrilled that so many other people have found him to be important to them too

(I still do) The Dark Knight was one of my got to's. Christopher Nolan's films became my favorite Batman adaptations. I thought I would give this muse a shot. I write for another fandom which is now sadly dead/dying. I also got absorbed by TDK/Joker fanfiction. This is my own interpretation based on that information.

Purpose?

To increase the amount of and diversify fanworks in the Black Clover fandom featuring canon characters!!

But we have a general Black Clover Week, so why should we participate in this one?

Good question!! The main purpose of this week is to showcase Tabata’s cast of characters through various prompts that are not relegated to the just safe-for-tunglr dot hell environment. In fact, this week will not have a dedicated blog that will be collecting these works. Instead, these prompts are free for anyone to use and publish on their preferred social media, archives, and landing sites (Tunglr, Twitter, AO3, Livejournal, etc). Because it is a non-traditional, non-monetized, and free-to-opt-in casual event, there will be no mods but moi, no advertising of paid services, or participant restrictions.

To reiterate, this event will solely focus on canon characters, and will NOT encourage Original Characters and Self-Inserts as the center of the fancontent. This an opportunity for people who’d like to explore canon characters, dynamics, and relationships to come forth and get their creative juices flowing. Crackshipping between canon actors is encouraged, as well as darkfic, horrorfic, genre-specific work, and other both safe and not-safe-for-tunglr dot hell tropes.

So how does it work?

The release date for works is from Monday, the 23rd of August through Sunday, the 29th of August! 

Since this is a create-and-explore-at-will event, creators will be encouraged to write, draw, and create freely. Readers and viewers will be encouraged to engage with whatever content they feel comfortable with.

In order to ensure that both creators and readers/viewers are making informed decisions about what they engage with, all creators must include all triggers, genre specifications, ships, and warnings in their posts so that people are free to opt out of engaging with the work. 

All safe-for-tunglr fanfiction should be under a read-more. Safe-for-tunglr fanart does not need to be under a read-more. 

Not-safe-for-tunglr fanwork should be LINKED to whatever landing site the content is being hosted on (Twitter, AO3, etc). This includes both fanfiction and fanart. I don’t want anyone getting their blog banned because they forgot tunglr dot hell no longer supports 6k pwp between Vanica and Undine the water spirit.

And last but not least - if you are engaging with any of the fancontent, reblog, reblog, reblog! Share the work with your followers. Send all the love to the creators for crafting their masterpieces!!

What can I contribute?

Fanart (standalones, comic strips, etc.), fanfiction (one-shots, multichapter, etc.), fanmixes, gifsets, graphics, meme collections, fanvids, whatever your heart desires! Go wild!!!

Can I create/write not-safe-for-tunglr dot hell content?

Yes!!!  All creators must include all triggers, genre specifications, ships, and warnings in their posts so that people are free to opt out of engaging with their work. All not-safe-for-tunglr fanfiction, fanart, and multimedia must be linked to a separate landing site (Twitter, AO3, etc.)!!!

And I reiterate, tag all triggers!!! All of them!!! I mean it, thotties!!!

What does (X) prompt mean?

Each day has two prompts!! You can either pick a prompt OR you can combine prompts in different ways.

For example, for Hero/Villain swap, you can do a traditional swap between a villain and a hero through artwork and other multimedia, OR, you can explore hero-to-bastard and bastard-to-hero dynamics through fanfiction and other multimedia. Let your imagination take you where you want to go with each prompt!! If you want to explore both curses and ancestors in the same fanart/fanfic, then be my guest!!

Both Canonverse and AU content is acceptable! Creativity is key! Have fun!!!

Can I crackship/multiship/harem/OT3/polyam the characters?

Absolutely!!! The only stipulation is that the characters must ALL be from the Black Clover CANON. If you want to write a throuple between Charmy, Henry, and Yami, then heck yeah!!! If you are writing a polycule with Vanessa, Finral, Nozel, and an OC, I will have to respectfully ask you not to participate in the week as the focus of the week are the characters of the Black Clover canon, and the purpose of the week is to increase and diversify fanworks that explore canon characters. Thank you for understanding!!!

11 July 2021 | The Final Match.

The players for both national teams lined up side by side down the tunnel. Chiellini & Kane, both confident in their teams ability, captaining with great authority and mentorship for the ten men stood behind them. Amelia stood at the back of the tunnel, watching the scene ahead of her. Her dad, walking up the centre aisle between the two teams, shaking the hands of his players, confident in his preparation. A gentle hand to her brother's shoulder, saying everything it needs to say. It was the same hand that rubbed the back of her neck as he walked past, communicating the same thing. Go your hardest, you’re ready for this.

It was her turn, she started at the back of the line, and in true Italian style, a kiss was placed to both cheeks of every player up the line. When she reached Jorginho, a player she came to appreciate for his technical mindset and intellectual approach to the game, she kissed his cheek and turned to the player opposite him - her brother, who was trying his hardest to face forward and pay his little sister no mind. She knew what he was doing, but she wasn’t as heartless as the rest of the England squad probably perceived her to be. Reaching out, she rubbed her hand along the back of his neck, just as her father did to her, leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek, before continuing down the line of her players to the front. Shaking hands with Gareth Southgate, who no doubt had come to realise who the girl was in relation to his team, and a kiss to both cheeks of Mr Mancini, she walked out and took her place on the bench, ready for the game of her life.

120 minutes of football later.

Life is both beautiful and cruel. Whilst she hadn’t anticipated the early goal from Shaw, Amelia had predicted every play by the english and made sure her team was there waiting for them to turn and run. They knew to never let Harry Kane have the space to move the ball, to make sure Mason Mount was marked at all times and to pay attention to the silky smooth skills of Raheem Sterling. They knew that every player on the english side had the talent and skill to shoot and score, no matter if they're a striker or full back. In the end, the endless taunts from the british crowd and constant reminder of “it’s coming home” only fuelled the Italians further and pushed them harder, to their limits. Eventually both sides met with equal force and completed extra time at a draw, leading to penalties. All of Amelia’s preparation with Gianluigi Donnarumma would present itself now. She went over the preferred sides of the penalty takers she presumed would be stepping up for their country, and reminded him of all he has achieved & what there is still left to be done. After all, they are the masters of their own fate.

Donnarumma’s block of Bukayo Saka’s penalty rattled her bones and sent a chill down her spine. They had done it. The boys had finally brought football back to Rome for the first time since 1968, and while she can’t take all of the credit, she knows she single handedly played a part in this victory. As soon as happiness filled her body, guilt and sadness flooded her heart. She had been part of the problem that caused her brother so much pain. Her dad knew how to handle rejection, this wasn't his first rodeo, and could see with an open mind just how they had managed to achieve greatness. But her brother had truly believed they had it, that football was coming home to England.

After being surrounded by her boys, cheering and hugging her, screaming in relief that they had done it, Amelia took a step back and took a deep breath in. Looking over to the players in white consoling each other with looks of understanding and pats on the back, hugging those with the unfortunate fate of missing their penalties, she found her brother.

Squatting down with his elbows resting on his knees and hands covering part of his face, his eyes showing disbelief that the moment had escaped them. Jordan Henderson, the figurative big brother to my big brother, leaning down whispering what one can only assume is words of encouragement and strength to him. A voice to my right startles me, not because I wasn't used to the noise, but because it was a voice I haven't heard directed at me with anything other than venom in a very long time.

“He wants you to be there for him, don’t ever think for a second that he doesn’t want you around.” Kyle Walker speaks into the open, whilst looking around at the fans still in the stadium. The fans behind us right now would be watching with speculation, wondering why the english player is talking to an italian so soon after defeat.

“I don’t think he doesn’t want me around, i just don’t think he wants me around right now” I spoke back, trying to reason with myself and Kyle as to why i haven't gone up and offered my condolences to my brother.

“I think the only thing that can pull him out of this is you. He was beating himself up last night after your argument, and while he turned it into motivation for today, it's still weighing on his conscience. He’s happy for you, we aren't that mean so as to deny him the pleasure of being proud of his little sister...even if she is working for the enemy”

“You’ve always been one to be the voice of reason, whilst still being the clown I grew up to know and love”

“Does this mean we’re friends again? I’m sorry about last night” Kyle admitted.

“Last night wasn’t what ended our friendship...we stopped being friends the day you left Spurs.” I joked back to Kyle. I turned to look at his over-expressed shocked face and walked backwards a few steps while giggling, before turning and sauntering over to my brother who was now surrounded by some more teammates. Upon seeing me and noticing my solemn expression, finding comfort in the fact that I wasn't there to rub my win in their faces, the boys left my brother to himself.

I stood there, staring into the eyes of my brother, who after a few minutes reached out and pulled me into him as though I was a life raft and he was stranded in the ocean. We stood there, hugging, saying everything we needed to say through the way we were gripping to the backs of each other's team colours.

“I am so proud of you, you put up one hell of a fight Ben. Certainly made my job harder” I spoke into his shirt. He was the taller of the two, but I wasn't that short. Almost immediately after, I felt him push more weight onto me and sink a bit lower so he was in my neck, shedding a few tears he didn't want seen by those around us. Not even 5 seconds later, he stood up straight, wiping his eyes and offering me a smile.

“God, I wish you weren’t better at your job than I am at mine” he joked back to me. I smiled up at him, shaking my head.

“I would say you’re wrong but the medal that's about to be around my neck would say otherwise” i joke back with him. I was not about to dull my sparkle for someone else's sun to shine, whether he is my brother or not.

“We have to talk about everything that went down last night but i’ll let you enjoy your night with your team” Ben says as we turn and begin to walk toward the stage being set up for the ceremony.

“Thanks Ben, family dinner on Sunday? Tell your friends to come, you and i both know mum will have enough food to feed everyone without even trying”

“Of course, I'll put it in the lads chat & see who’s still around. Kyle will see it in our family chat - who even put him in there anyway!?”

“Honestly...I think it was mum. You know she loves her son, Kyle.”

As I walk back to my team, and into the arms of Fede and Jorginho who wrap me up in an Italian flag and start jumping around, I can't help but smile and laugh at my amazing life. Who knows what the future has to hold, but for tonight, the azzurri are the champions of europe and the trophy is coming home, to Rome.

Hi Polynya! I’m curious and in the spirit of Ginrei’s birthday, what do you think are his opinions of Rukia and Renji separately and together?

Ha ha, this is such a simple and straightforward question and my answer is going to be so long and so complicated and have almost nothing to do with Rukia and Renji because Ginrei's feelings toward Rukia and Renji have almost nothing to do with Rukia and Renji.

So, I want to start out by saying that Ginrei is a lot like Hisana in the sense that he's a canon character, we get the idea of him and what he's there for, but there's no actual characterization of him, which gives fanfic writers a tremendous amount of leeway to do whatever they want with him. I'm not going to try to justify anything I say here, it's just my ideas and how it goes in my fanfiction. I love it whenever a writer tries to take on the Kuchiki clan and I'm always interested to see what other people's takes are, even when they vary wildly from my own.

I love the fact that "Kuchiki" means "dead tree." We meet Rukia first, and it's sort of a delightfully spoopy name, very appropriate for this salty, overdramatic, grim reaper girl, but it takes on additional meaning when we meet Byakuya, the noble and powerful scion of a dying house.

The thing that makes Ginrei interesting as a character to me is that he is the one who ruled over his house as it fell. I tend to regard filler episodes as semi-canon, so I like the idea of Kouga, even if I don't want to acknowledge the rest of the Zanpakutou Rebellion shenanigans. I think that the main line of the Kuchiki was already running a little thin, Soujun's health was a big concern, and so they marry in this guy who is a scholar and a powerful shinigami. They never say what Kouga's previous social status was, but given that they emphasize what an accomplished dude he is, I think he was chosen for his skills, not his lineage, to strengthen the Kuchiki bloodline, except it backfires. Then Soujun dies, too, a few years later.

Ginrei strikes me as the type of leader who thinks he can control everything. He manages his clan with an iron fist. He is pragmatic, not sentimental. He’s not bad or mean, but he can see that he does not have a lot of room for missteps, and he takes his role very, very seriously. Despite this, he’s lost the generation under him, and all that he has left is Byakuya. There are cousins and branch families, but to the pride of the Kuchiki is its main line, descended from great generals and heroes and the very founders of Soul Society. Byakuya, in a lot of ways, hearkens back to the great Kuchiki of old, and Ginrei sees that he has the potential to reclaim the power and glory of his house. He’s hard on Byakuya and has high expectations for him. Ginrei loved his son and he loves his grandson, but after Soujun’s death, he often wonders if he was too soft on him because of his health, if Soujun would have lived if Ginrei had just expected more of him. Byakuya is the last hope of the Kuchiki and Ginrei knows he can achieve great things, and Ginrei is determined to do everything in his power to make sure Byakuya achieves his full potential.

And some ways, Byakuya is the perfect Kuchiki. He’s strong and he’s hard-working. He’s principled. He’s working on his self-control, and he’s very good at when it comes, to say, sword practice, he’s just not so good at in when it comes to interpersonal relations, but he’s coming along. Then he meets Hisana.

Hisana is absolutely unacceptable to Ginrei. Byakuya needs a marriage with a woman with strong spiritual pressure and a noble lineage so that he can gain some alliances from the marriage and then she can pop out some strapping young heirs while also managing his social life for him, just like Ginrei’s wife did for him. Hisana obviously isn’t going to check any of these boxes.

I headcanon Byakuya as demisexual, in the sense that he doesn’t experience sexual attraction very often, and if he does, it’s only to someone he’s already got strong feelings for. He was sort of okay with the vague idea of marrying someone for the purposes of procreating until he met Hisana and realized how much that would pale in comparison to actually being married to the love of his life.

Up until this point, Byakuya has had some minor rebellions against Ginrei, but they’ve never really gone at it, but this is one time that Byakuya stands firm. Ginrei is super-pissed. He lets Byakuya marry her because he figures she’s going to die soon anyway, but he’s mad about it. He never comes around to Hisana and he’s mean to her and this is really the nadir of Byakuya and Ginrei’s relationship.

Finally, we are getting around to what you asked. Hisana dies and Ginrei softens a little toward Byakuya in his grief. He retires and turns the clan and Squad 6 over to B, hoping it will be a distraction and that Byakuya will finally turn his focus over to what matters. This seems to be going well for about one year and then BAM! Byakuya acquires an orphan.

I am guessing that Ginrei didn’t know about Byakuya’s promise to Hisana to take care of Rukia, but even so, I think if you asked him, he would have regarded Byakuya’s duty to his clan and promise to his parents as more important. It’s not that Ginrei isn’t an honorable man, it’s that his concept of honor doesn’t necessarily extend to a dead peasant in comparison the Noble and Ancient House of Kuchiki. So Byakuya adopts Rukia and Ginrei’s immediate reaction is panic. What is Byakuya doing? Is he going to marry this girl? Is he going to name her his Heir? Has he cracked? And it turns out to be none of those things, he’s just going to keep her around as this sad ghost that haunts his house, but Ginrei’s initial reaction toward Rukia is that of interloper. He thought this Hisana nonsense was overwith, but no, we’re still doing this.

When Ginrei first meets Rukia, she is in her overwhelmed, lonely stage of first becoming a Kuchiki. Ginrei also criticizes her for being small and meek and basically useless. She’s a mediocre shinigami. She’s not beautiful or talented, so Byakuya can’t even marry her off for political gain. The real issue, though is that Rukia is just emblematic of the fact that Byakuya doesn’t intend to move past his grief and remarry. He works his ass off as Captain and Clan Head, but other than that, he’s just gonna be a sad widower and sit in his big house and write letters to his dead wife and the Kuchiki are going to die off. There is really nothing Rukia could do, no way she could be different that Ginrei would approve of, because it was never really about her in the first place.

Fast forward a few years, and now we come to Renji. I also headcanon that in his retirement, Ginrei has moved out to a scenic portion of Rukongai, so he doesn’t interact with Byakuya much on a day-to-day basis, but he hears stuff through other family members that come out to visit him. He’s never actually met Renji, all he knows is that Shirogane retired, and Byakuya hired some tattooed goon from Squad 11 instead of one of the dozens of Kuchiki cousins that are lying around. In my fanfic Call Me Back When the War is Over, Byakuya explains to one of his aunts that the reason he did this was because he didn’t have a relative who was capable of passing the Lieutenant’s Exam. She replies that he just should have pulled some strings so that someone (preferably her own son) could pass, assuming it’s a mere formality. Now this is exactly what Ginrei would have done. This is a problem, though: it involves choosing sides. I’ve got the top seats of Squad 6 set up as follows:

- 3rd Seat Ohno is the Heir to the most powerful Kuchiki branch family. His father is arguably the next in line for Clan Head, based on power terms - 4th Seat Kuchiki Choei is an actual Kuchiki, but he’s a younger son and he’s a clown, meaning that he got bored standing in line for Clan Head and wandered around the corner to vape - 5th Seat Kuchiki Takehiko is the actual closest of Byakuya’s relatives to him, and is arguably the next in line for Clan Head, strictly on family line terms

Pulling strings to help any of these three become the next lieutenant would be a very political move on B’s part, tantamount to anointing his successor. Ginrei assumes that B picked an outsider for the purposes of recusing, of saying “I shall simply refuse to die and remain Clan Head myself, forever’, with the addition fuck you of picking the Actual Worst Person Byakuya Could Find for the job, instead.

This really isn’t the case at all, it is literally that Byakuya feels that you shouldn’t be a lieutenant if you can’t pass the exam. He’s basically a rule-follower, and also it’s a good rule, and also his dad died as a lieutenant and I think he thinks a lot about how that could have been avoided through actions, whereas Ginrei tends to think of it more of a thing that could have been avoided if Soujun was better.

So, that gets us up to the beginning of canon. I am (in theory) working on a fanfic that takes place in the 17-mo timeskip where Ginrei comes to visit and actually gets to know Rukia and Renji and (spoiler alert, but is anyone really surprised) he ends up liking both of them a lot. Part of it is just Ginrei has chilled out somewhat in his retirement and realized that it’s okay to have parts of your life that are not completely devoted to the Good of the Clan. Part of it is that Ginrei loves Competence and Rukia and Renji are so, so competent. Part of it is that Byakuya is obviously doing a lot better than he was, and it’s just really obvious why. Like I said, Ginrei does and always has loved Byakuya, he just wants what’s best for him. It’s just that if there is one thing Kuchiki are terrible at, it’s expressing their love for one another in a positive and healthy way.

As to Ginrei’s feelings about Renruki as a ship, he’s for it, actually. Conniving family members have been trying to marry Rukia for years in hopes of getting an in with Byakuya, and I’m sure they’re setting their sights on Renji, now, too. Ginrei likes them well enough, but he can imagine what a shitshow this could turn out to be, and he finds it very convenient if they were to just marry each other.

I’m rather fond of the idea of Byakuya appointing them as a branch family to the Kuchiki, because I’m not super keen on them going full-Kuchiki if Renji married in, but I think Byakuya would be upset if Rukia married out and he wasn’t able to provide her with the lavish lifestyle he thinks she needs (she does not). It’s a nice compromise that lets them be a part of the family, but out of the limelight. In any case, I think that was Ginrei’s idea, thanks Granddad!

Gang Mom- Bowers Gang

So, I write a lot of fanfiction on my own just like for myself, I’m working on one now with the bowers gang (If I actually power through and finish it I’m gonna have Chapter 2 sequel called “Club Mom” but that’s off topic, might actually post it somewhere one day) But I wanted to share the summary/blurb for it.

    No one really understood how she ended up with them, she was too nice. The kindness was in her own special way at times, yet definitely too nice for Henry. But she was at the sides of the Bowers gang from the time the met in the first grade, how they met was never really known by others, but that’s how they had always been. Two boys on the calmer side, an angrier boy with a temper, and their female voice of reason. And everyone learned to accept that was how it is.

    Of course there was rumors. The losers club seemed to be the worst with gossip about why a girl who would go out of her way to point out birds to Stan if they somehow got put together and laughed at Richie’s jokes would be in the Bowers gang. They swore there had to be some sort of secret relationship there, but even then none of them could see how she was fit for them. But it was fueled by the little things. How she was the only one allowed to touch Henry, and how after a few months of him having it, his pink leather jacket found its way to her shoulders, the girl hardly being seen without it after that. Or how Belch Huggins would let her drive his car, her own mixtape blasting from its speakers. Then there was Victor Cross and how the two were always leaning on to each other, sharing a cigarette when or laughing at each other. And yet, they didn’t mind it, because as long as Hailey was with them, the losers were safe. They swear she has some sort of secret soft spot for them. 

    And then came Patrick Hockstetter, rowdy and always seeming to egg on Henry. Everyone swore that would be the pint that she left the Bowers Gang, that he would be her last straw with them. Yet, she stayed, if you looked through the windshield at the group you’d see the way she sat leaning back, a smile pressed to her lips as Patrick and Victor leaned over her. She would crack a joke, sending the two in the front seat into laughter as the two in the back with her shoved her around. And unless you really looked, you wouldn’t notice a change in them. Unless you realized the way she and Vic lean into each other’s sides, became more of a cling, an arm around her shoulders and one around his waist. Or the way she was more gentle with Henry when he’s mad than she used to be. Perhaps you saw the protective nature Belch picked up over her, even letting her drive his car more than Henry would ever be allowed to.  But you could also see that despite all the changes, they were somehow still the same.

    One could almost find it comical, the way the original four members would share a silent conversation before she answered some of Patrick’s questions. And you could see the way things minorly changed in her bag, new snacks being thrown in that she never carried before, more Band-Aids and even gauze and medical tape found their way in. She even started to carry around pain meds. Because she cared for them, she was the gangs Achilles heel. And they were her boys, despite their obvious flaws. But then there was four again, then two, that damn clown, and then one, crying in a sewer.

Fanfic Ask Game

👨‍👧‍👧 Do you tell people in real life that you write fic?

Oh yeah! Like, I wouldn't send my grandma my ao3 account, but I talk rather freely about writing as a hobby and say where one can find me if they want to read my stuff. I usually don't talk about what I write more specifically, because talking about fanfic with someone outside a fandom just isn't very interesting to me.

🌝 Who is one character you haven’t yet written for that you would like to?

Let's get one non-Hetalia related thing out, because my entire ao3 profile is either Hetalia, my original characters from my Hetalia AU "Like Father Like Son" (LFLS) or the OCs of my beloved friend Jonah.

I reread Soul Eater last year and read some excellent GiriJasu Fanfics to the point I had an idea for one myself. I even have some dialogue snippets still in my notes app, but sadly, I don't think I'll ever write it :') WIP list for LFLS too long and hyperfixation on Hetalia/my OCs burning too bright.

So back to my regular scheduled bullshit - Hetalia/LFLS

There are a lot of characters I'd like to write. The problem with LFLS is that the worldbuilding always requires every nation to have two right hands for me to consider international relations properly. Means I can't just have a character without their two closest allies, besties, worsties, their dreamteam. I however also keep telling myself NO new OCs, because I already have too many and this AU is wildly out of control already.

But I have been reading way too much fanfiction that features aph Egypt & been thinking too much about how much more I could do with Turkey's neighbours & old acquaintances, so have my ramblings under the cut anyways:

- I was thinking of a followup for The Amulet of both of them running to other people - Michele in Herakles' case and Mohamed (Egypt) in Sadık's. This was also inspired... well, the root of all of this is honestly me reading too many TurGre fanfics with the Egyptian in it, even some TurGregypt stuff. (Which also means that if I ever write this, I have to fold and make Egyptians. SIIIIIIGH.) ALSO, sidenote about that - Love the idea of Turgypt or Turgregypt in this. I'm so sorry though, because the other thing I fucking loved in the fanfics was Mohamed always being the second fiddle, the only one next to Herakles, but still not there. And he knew it. So I also do wish him that he actually found a more stable, nice partner in here. Presents us with 3/4 possibilities though: 1. His partner is not down to clown whatsoever. Mohamed is off-limits. 2. His partner IS down to clown and foursome shenanigans continue to ensue. (If it worked with SicIre, why stop there.) 3. His partner would be down to clown with ONE of them, but not both. Now, I'm sure Sadık has made enemies enough that it'd be easy to find someone who's give Herakles a thumbs up, but not the Turk. However, it would be so infinitely funnier therefore to find someone who says yes to Sadık but isn't here for Herakles. "Oh yeah, I could go for a hatefuck with Sadık, but I don't know about the Greek."

- Here are some more ideas about potential right hands for both Egypt and Iran/Persia:

- Recently sent Jani a voice note about how funny it would be if the OLD right hand of Mohamed (who must have already worked for his parents, at least) brought the other, younger one into business ... and they had this dynamic: "I should have left you on that street corner where you were standing." "But you didn't!" (If you don't know this video, do yourself the favour and watch it.)

- Also this post about a potential right hand for aph Iraq. I know nothing about Iraq and would super love to have a good reason to learn more; I would need someone else's aph Iraq OC though, because I'm not making any new aph OCs these days.
