What traditionally masculine traits do you associate Jesus, either from the Bible or as he is commonly depicted in art and stories?

What traditionally feminine traits do you associate Jesus, either from the Bible or as he is commonly depicted in art and stories?

Assume that Jesus was divine in origin and that his sacrifice was preordained, but that the details of his time as a mortal were left to his own making. Do you think Jesus needed to be born male to accomplish his mission of amassing followers, preaching the Gospel, and establishing his legacy as savior? Could a female Jesus have been so influential in that cultural at that time? Explain your reasoning.

Upon ascending to Heaven, would Jesus's physical appearance absolutely need to reflect the body he was born into during his time as a mortal? Is it reasonable to believe that he could manifest female physical traits if he chose to?

If a mortal ascended to Heaven in their afterlife, is it reasonable to believe that they could also choose to manifest physical traits of the opposite sex, or appear totally genderless?

Imagine that you are a medieval monk. You have lived your entire life trying to follow in Jesus's example. You have closely examined his words and deeds as recorded in the gospels, and have meditated on the meaning of his divinity for many hours of your life.

Further imagine that you have never felt comfortable in your male body. How would the lifestyle of a celebate monk suit you? How might the idea of eternal heavenly life in your idealized form help you find peace? How might these ideas inform your artwork? Explain your reasoning.

Jesus, then, becomes gender non-binary, bearing both male and female sexual organs.

oh hey i’m also making an embroidery project. pattern from @loosethreadstitchery i believe.

it’s a sampler of these mini squares, i have a rainbow of thread and the aida is on top of my usual tote bag. i’ll tear away the aida threads after it’s done to have it embroidered directly on the bag.

it’s been years since i’ve done any needlepoint. a few mistakes, but we press on!

Okay, when i mentioned in a recent post that you should keep notes on your weaving I said I would share some of my notebook pages because, and I cannot stress this enough,,,, notes about your projects is So So Important in weaving. At least for me, if I want to recreate a certain fabric and I haven't done the due diligence in notes, it has ALWAYS come back to bite me. "But I'll remember later-" no you will not that is the devils voice whispering sonorous lies into your ear. Take. Notes.

Take these really cool red/white/grey/black dishtowels. They came out So Freaking Excellent. I was on the tail end of not having written down Anything for a previous project and being mad about it + i was in a hyperfocus mood, so so many notes got taken.

These purple/green dishtowels were pretty cool, I did end up changing the plan halfway through, as you can see pffttt

And here's a few more examples of some projects and their notes, plus a page of me workshopping possible warp combos. Having written down The Striped Dishtowel Template has literally saved my ass so many times, I make so many of these darned things for craft shows and they SELL OUT.

Internet Archive just wanted to show you guys a video that has meant something to me and my life for a long time. Which I found my own meaning in. Reasons to 'block' your fiber art when you use a natural fiber:

Before and after! I know the new picture's a better quality, but still, you can now see the pineapple pattern without visually hunting for it. (I don't know why I didn't take the first pic on the white table lol.) Before size is 15.5 inches, After size is 17 inches and it lays completely flat instead of curled.

Honestly, when I finished the project back in 2022, I didn't think it was ever gonna lay flat, as if it were an error I made in tension or something, but no, all it needed was a soak and to be stretched/pinned down to dry.

ok so I saw that you dont get many asks about this so i've worked up the courage to finally ask this but for Anton and Flitmouse in TGATNW, have you thought about how it would develop in that universe compared to UTG. Tbh, I was originally actually interested in them bc Flitmouse wants monogamy and has self-worth issues about himself while Anton is confident and has fucked just about everyone and likes it that way. But in UTR that kind of conflict doesnt really work the same way and seems to be heading for a different route. Would Anton have dedicated himself to Flitmouse (like in UTG) or would Flitmouse have grown to be less insecure about it all?

Btw, I love them both lotss, and they were the pairing that got me to read the rest of the UTR series <3

Tbh one of the reasons I stopped writing the story in The Golden Age that Never Was is because I knew it would never have a truly happy ending and I struggle to commit to stories like that.

Like, Flitmouse is mortal, Anton is immortal. Flitmouse is highly jealous, and Anton is immortal literally because every mortal he knows and loves will die and that grief kills him, for decades upon decades. Flitmouse knows Anton's love for him will do this and that Anton will then go on to have sex with lots of other people, and Anton knows that this breaks Flitmouse's heart and refuses to compromise because Flitmouse isn't a golden warrior.

In Underline the Gold they still get to have a happy ending. Because Flitmouse can be jealous or possessive but Anton is committed to him literally through their job. I can touch on an age discrepancy without having one literally live forever.

I do think in All The Loose Threads Flitmouse would have eventually adjusted, but I still think he would have always been a bit bitter and cynical about it in a way that's like... I always imagined his last years alive as an old man being quite painful for him because of it. After a while I was like 'I...can't write these two characters in this specific format because I love them so much and I want them to have a happy ending.'

It was just hard to imagine that without thinking of the weight of Flitmouse's and Anton's knowledge that it would all end in a level of heartbreak for Anton that we can't imagine for ourselves, because we're not immortal.
