you know what, it was on me for expecting anything different from mr russell t 'all the information i ever need about anything happening in the world i get from the front page (and *only* the front page) of the guardian' davies but. the nuclear winter caused by *checks watch* No Piano really. really broke me.

i love when whumpees have nightmares that are so vivid and feel so long and real that when they wake up they can't help but just lay in their bed feeling the huge amounts of relief that none of it was real

So after a good rant with my friends about Dreamtale, I decided to redesign the boys in a way that I think is much better and makes more sense

#my art #undertale #curseart #also rewrote them #theyre very badly designed and written #so I decided why not #I mean it was pretty fun the concepts are really interesting and i feel like it wouldve been so good if there was more thought put into it #dreamtale #dream sans #nightmare sans #dream sans redesign #nightmare sans redesign #as for their personalities #dream is an embodiment of positivity therefore i went the route with him where it shows that sometimes pure positivity can be toxic and #even ignorant #while with ngihtmares i went a route where hes severely depressed and toxic but not intentionally #to show how sometimes bad situations can negatively affect relationships people around you and yourself #along with how sometimes theyre good like instinctively knowing when to get out of a situation or that someone is bad #that isnt to say dream doesnt have good qualities #hes absolutely capable of helping and lifting people up #hes first one to jump to help but will never hurt anyone even if theyre a bad person #he also believes the best in people which can either range from helping push people beyond what they believe is their limit and isnt #helping drastically improve peoples lives and notice the good in front of them #but sometimes being too naive to actually help or believe someone needs help #sometimes trusting people too much or even believing that family or people cant do wrong especially because of the halo effect #nightmare can be positive in a sense that he knows when something is wrong and isnt afraid to show it #hes blunt and ready to set boundaries even if they leave an extremely sour and guilt filled taste in his mouth #but hes also easy to guilt trip and bring down #make him have a breakdown even

#since I talked in the tags a lil before #i also need to say that the political situation in Georgia has been a big pile of shit lately #that’s mostly why I don’t have the energy to engage with anything atm #everything is so hopeless #I just try to play video games these days to take my mind off stuff #but to explain it a bit #there is this one law the parliament already tried to pass last year but then didn’t because thousands came out to rally against it #the law is about ‘foreign agents’ and it’s directly copied from kremlin’s law in Russia #where the govt basically uses it to just cleanse the country from anyone they don’t like #So now this law is back and they have voted a yes two times #and will vote a yes third time #which is absolutely devastated news for anyone here #because if this law is instituted #basically say bye to foreign scholarships #to ngos financed from foreign countries that work to protect queer and trans peeps #rehabilitate refugees domestic violence victims etc #there will be no new roads in removed highland villages that rely mostly on international financial aid #no education opportunities for poor kids etc #this law literally equals death #and it will be heavily used to just cleanse Georgia of people who don’t think like Kremlin #and I am so fucking scared rn #There have been protests for 3 days #tens of thousands of people on the streets #but parliaments just keeps ignoring people #Or using police brutality against them #they are beating people up #jailing them for peaceful protests etc #it’s absolute nightmare #I’m just so tired of Russia #why won’t they die with everyone who supports them I wanna cry

yknow, i think a lot of my annoyance with anti-aang discourse is that a lot of criticisms seem to act like they're marks against aang's character writing specifically, as opposed to the approach of the narrative as whole, which aang is uniquely representative of by being the main character. it just feels like some people are frustrated at the show for being reserved in its exploration of certain aspects of war, and they take that out on aang.

#not that you can't just not like aang #that's chill #but ive seen a lot of posts about how aang never addresses the people he's most definitely killed throughout the series #and they act like it's a specific point against aang's writing #like. you notice how the entire narrative is like that #you notice how they never outright say that fire nation soldiers drowned in the north pole #you notice how aang has nightmares about it anyway #sure absolutely you can be frustrated about the arrative refusing to properly address the violent situations they devise #but unless you're also mad at toph and katara and sokka for the people they've most definitely killed and not addressed #you dont get to be mad at aang for it #it's not an aang problem #it's a narrative tone one #which in a lot of ways isn't a problem so much as it's adults wishing for more complexity out of an already very complex children's show #maybe just pause and think if it's a valid criticism of a children's show #or just something that you'd prefer to see expanded on to cater to your maturity level #that's what fandom is for baby #surround yourself with content at your maturity level #ok mini rant over lmao #atla #aang #fandom critical #my takes

every now and then i'm reminded that there are people who don't grasp that like. no matter how great and fine you think a specific hypothetical boss-employee relationship might be, even if you insist on claiming that there are zero issues whatsoever in that relationship itself

the problem is that now every other employee in the general vicinity has to evaluate whether their boss is going to try to fuck them, because now that's on the table

okay i just put this in the tags of a different post but now i have to put it in another post so i can talk about it more <3

celestia and luna : kusuo and kusuke is NOT a cut and dry comparison and neither of them fit one or the other perfectly.. for the most part, kusuo is celestia and kusuke is luna (kusuke lashing out because he thinks kusuo is better than him, that things are easier for kusuo, kusuo not understanding, etc etc.) but the problem with that by itself is that that goes BOTH ways in almost the same exact way, the biggest difference is in how they cope with it all.. kusuo also sees himself in luna A LOT, but unlike kusuke he keeps his issues bottled up and never once takes it out on him.. he competes back to kusuke, especially when they were kids, but for the most part he doesnt WANT to and only does it because either 1) kusuke tries to make him feel inferior or 2) kusuke BRIBES him to do it ???

they both think the other has it better and wish that they could live the others life, and neither of them understand the others struggles (and probably never will fully, but hopefully itll get better for them.)

kusuo definitely watched mlp and thinks of HIMSELF as the luna or the 'nightmare moon' of the two of them because, even though he hasnt ever actually lashed out in that way, he knows how perfectly capable of it he is and he believes himself to be some sort of monster.. and its not really a rational way for him to see things, especially since he doesnt even usually view kusuke in a positive light ? but lunas story just hits home with him that badly..

this is just one reason why i think it sucks that kusuo being "powerless" basically only lasted a weekend, because we totally couldve gotten to see a "celestia and luna switching cutie marks for a day" kind of dynamic between kusuo and kusuke.. obviously not with kusuke having powers, but with him being above kusuo and more powerful than the general human race and realizing that being better than kusuo isnt what he wanted it to be..

and seeing how absolutely depressed and in denial kusuo becomes at first when he starts getting his powers back wouldve hit so much harder for kusuke if it had been a slower realization before kusuo could begin accepting himself again

//Was thinking about posting this on my alt, but since I figure I've spoken about this frequently enough on this blog and it's THE dedicated Leonard Space™️... //I'm throwing up and crying thinking about how leonard had never gotten to experience romantic or sexual attraction (or will ever GET to experience those things, unrequited or not) without complete dread and self-blame and guilt and how that must have been growing up with the hope and expectations of "Being in love must be so nice, I hope I'll be able feel that one day" and not ONLY having that hope gradually dwindle as he grew into the "expected marriageable age" watching those around him go on with their lives and attain those things in a way that seems so natural but is so foreign to him and the absolute sadness of the point the notion of "attraction" and "falling in love" turned to complete and abject horror and disgust when he realises that this is what his mind has decided is "Normal" for him, and all possibilities and aspirations he may have had of a child, teen, young adult, etc. up to that point of even the bare minimum is now a complete impossibility. //how it fully sets in he'll never experience love. never find his own family or someone to be interested in and care about in such a way or even feel attraction without that weight attached.... like idc, actual relationships are one thing but if ANYTHING you should at least be able to know the joy of falling in love if even for a SECOND without any strings (Disgust, guilt, self-hate, etc.) attached!!!! guys!!!!!!! //HE'S WAY TOO KIND AND GENTLE AND HANDSOME AND CARING AND HUMBLE AND A GENTLEMAN AND HANDSOME AND HIS VOICE IS WAY TOO SEXY FOR THIS SHIT, HE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS!!!!!
