It just occurred to me that The Frosty Fair Folk Festival is probably meant to be a 1:1 reference to The Rainbow Gathering.
Moves around every year, very hippy dippy. The only thing not like it is the emo concert.
My grandpa has been to Rainbow and I was gonna go a few years ago when it was local but I was too busy, so I don't know for sure, but sounds very similar based on his description.

so. Scrolling the dash prompted me to evaluate who the “medic” of the hermitcraft server is. And the answer i have concluded at is i think it depends on what issue you’re having.
If you’re looking for ONE solid all-rounder ‘medic’/doctor, I’d probably go with Cub. Not because of any reference specifically, i just think he’s probably the most knowledgeable in the human body/medicine. He’s a scientist too, thats close enough 👍 Doc would probably be a solid enough substitute in a pinch, but he’d be relying pretty heavily on info/help from the hivemind to do the more intensive stuff.
Doc is the guy people go to for biomechanical issues (ppl like Iskall, Ren, etc). Basically really advanced prosthetics. Doc’s half biomechanical himself, so he’s truly the expert in both knowledge and experience.
Cleo is the hermit you wanna see if you need stitches. She has the steadiest hand, desensitized to the whole ‘stabbing through skin’ thing after doing it to herself so many times repairing her body.
Some hermits work as like a more general urgent care level— not emergency level, but something you need medical attention for. Joe, Impulse, Skizz, and Scar are all officially first aid and CPR certified (Joe because it’s part of his admin duties, Impulse and Skizz because they’re both Arizona Dads™ and wanna be prepped, and Scar because of a hermit-voted mandate for his own wellbeing). For people just feeling more generally under the weather, Keralis is more than willing to dote on and care for them until they feel better!
Since they don’t really have a dedicated server infirmary, each hermit has their own medical supply sets in their base— it’s just part of the server expectations — and they also reflect their owners. Pearl’s is VERY well stocked, neat and tidy. Iskall’s is typically about 30% stocked (they’ll restock it later!). Stress only has colorful/fun bandaids in her supplies— coincidentally it’s not uncommon to see Iskall with a pink donut bandaid around his finger or a Scooby Doo bandaid on his leg. He fervently denies that he takes from anyone stash but his own. Grian’s has at least 3 bottles of extra strength excedrin. Skizz’s has an unopened pack of pads in his.
TLDR; if you want a specific “medic”, use cub or doc but in reality it’s a very messy web of ‘well this person is best at THIS part—‘ that they navigate around

Good News: I officially have a hiatal hernia and severe reflux diagnosis after 4+ months of telling them that's what's wrong with me and trying to schedule tests to prove it
Bad News: I am still incapacitated by a hiatal hernia and severe reflux and will be until I get get them to approve and schedule surgery, which could easily be months

Hey y'all! Does anyone have a link to somewhere I can compare the ingredients of the new Moderna and Pfizer boosters? All the articles I'm finding are along the lines of "no, it won't change your DNA", and are unhelpful for "does this contain acetic acid*"/allergy purposes I know the Moderna bivalent booster did contain acetic acid, and I had a severe-but-not-requiring-hospitalization allergic reaction to it, and I'm trying to figure out if I should go with Moderna again this time (pros: did not end up in the hospital. cons: did have a pretty severe allergic reaction) or try Pfizer (pros: have not reacted to it yet! cons: have not tried it yet, could be mega-allergic) Edit: Thanks everybody! It looks like the Pfizer booster does not contain acetic acid, so I will probably go with that one. I still might be allergic to something else in it, but at least I won't be deliberately injected with something I know I am allergic to?
*I know it's weird, but I am allergic to acetic acid. It might be a mast cell degranulation trigger rather than a true IgE-mediated allergic reaction, but calling it an allergy is shorter and requires less explanation (every time I mention my vinegar allergy I get someone in the notes saying it can't be a true allergy, so I guess I should say calling it an allergy is shorter everywhere but tumblr lol)

Let's chat about Acid Attacks!
In the real world, acid throwing attacks disproportionately impact women.
When it's not gender based, it is typically associated with gang violence.
Acid attacks are typically meant to be disfiguring rather than fatal, though it isn't completely unheard of for a victim to die from the shock or the resulting injuries, infections, etc especially if treatment isn't readily available.
Let's go over what can happen to someone struck in the face with acid - beneath the cut because it's wholly terrible. (no pictures here, but I'd rather not accidentally upset someone sensitive to descriptions of injuries, etc)
disfigurement/damage to the skull
permanent hair loss
complete destruction of soft tissues like lips and eyelids
blindness in one or both eyes
difficulty breathing, eating, swallowing, and talking due to scar tissue in the esophagus
nostrils may close as a result of destroyed cartilage
limited range of motion in the head/face/neck
a tremendous amount of pain
social exclusion
really just ... a terrible amount of emotional and psychological trauma, feelings of shame, reluctance to ask for help, etc.
Why are you talking about this, @twcfaces ?
Because it really happens to real people. It's not just something in movies, cartoons, or comic books.
I don't want to gloss over that while I'm writing, even if I'm writing about comic book villains, I guess. I also don't want to seem like a huge jackass who doesn't know how serious it is, and how real and debilitating it is for so many people. It carries its own connotations of shame, exclusion, and sexism. So. That's... what it is.

I love when I say I have something and everyone goes "omg, V, you can't self diagnose. You don't seem like you have that thing to me." And then I go see a doctor/therapist/etc. AND I'M RIGHT

remember to research your meds interactions with drugs and alcohol before you do it! you can google the name and "with alcohol" or "with weed" or whatever you do and see the drug interactions. some will be fine, some will make your perscriptions less effective, some can be dangerous. you wont know until you research it so please do! and be honest to your dr/perscriber about what recreational drugs you do, even if its illegal, they wont report you, they just want to keep you safe.

i am alive, and the flare of my chronic pain may be classed as 'moderate' today, which isn't great, but is better than severe, severe being 'every last nerve is screaming and even a light breeze feels like sandpaper on a burn'.
Please have this picture and edited version of Pepperoni as a thanks for being understanding while I avoided migraine-inducing screen light like the plague:
