A digital art piece showing a diverse group of queer youth is overlayed with text reading, “March for Queer & Trans Youth Autonomy, March 31 2023, All 50 States, Uniting as One.”
Slide 2
The background is a rainbow gradient with  a digital art piece showing three queer youth. The text reads, “It’s time we create one of the largest queer youth marches in history! Uniting every queer and trans young person under the common goals of safety, autonomy, joy.”
Slide 3
A rainbow gradient with a small digital art piece in the corner of three queer youth. The text reads, “The queer & trans community has been upended by a series of devastating laws, detrimental legislation, and queerphobic attacks designed to make the lives of queer & trans youth as unbearable as possible. Each and every queer & trans youth serving org has  responded in their own ways, prompting walkouts, protests, legislative challenges, organizational statements, and other rebuttals in an attempt to swing the momentum. Now it’s time to unite our communities powerful work and collectively advocate for youth as one!”
Slide 4
A rainbow gradient overlayed with text reading, “This march will center the voices of queer and trans youth.” This is followed by a bulleted list saying the following, “Marches will be held at capitol buildings & in major cities in all 50 states. Queer & trans youth will share their stories, experiences, and demands to the masses.  Everyone from adults to allies to politicians will march in solidarity. State & national orgs will organize these marches, while students will organize walkouts at their schools.”
Slide 5
A rainbow gradient overlayed with text reading, “Queer and trans youth will receive the spotlight to advocate for their safety, their joy, and their autonomy. The tidal wave that these marches will create, combined with the  political & media spotlight on queer & trans youth, will drown the conservative narratives that have dominated the fight until now. In their place, queer & trans youth voices, stories, interviews, testimony, films, books, will all rise to show the lives and share the stories of queer & trans youth. We will be front and center.”
Slide 6
An image of students from @cpagsa during QYA’s National Queer Youth Walkout is overlayed with text and a list of checkboxes reading, “Youth! If you are an activist, are in your school’s GSA and/or have been impacted anti queer & trans youth speech, legislation, or laws then we invite you to join our queer & trans youth led march planning committees! Visit queeryouthassemble.org for more information.”
Slide 7
An image of students at Old Rochester Regional’s walkout, with QYA Head of Teams Alia Cusolito giving a speech, overlayed by text which reads, “ Queer & trans youth listening sessions. January 7th, 2023, 4pm EST, January 11th, 2023, 8pm EST, January 15th, 2023, 4pm EST, and January 21st, 2023, 10pm EST. We invite queer & trans youth across the country to join us at our march listening sessions, where we will be brainstorming a list of demands for the march. Once completed, the list will be circulated across the country, and signed by politicians & organizations to pledge their commitment to queer & trans youth. Register by clicking the link in our bio or visiting queeryouthassemble.org.
Slide 8
An image of students during the walkout in March, overlayed with text and checkboxes reading, “Adults! Visit queeryouthassemble.org to donate.”
Slide 9
An image of queer youth attending Queer Youth Assemble’s Let Trans Athletes Play event in August overlayed with text and checkboxes reading, “Orgs! If you support queer and trans youth autonomy, have BIPOC, trans, or disabled leadership, and/or have experience planning marches or major events, then we invite you to plan a March at your state’s capitol/major city! Visit queeryouthassemble.org to sign your org up.
Slide 10

I am of the DPxDC belief/headcanon that any variation of Danny who grew up poor in Gotham during his formative years before moving to Amity Park would not be friends with Sam without friction at first. It makes things more interesting and imo allows for more exploration of different themes plus character growth for Sam that she doesn't really go through in canon.
(this doesn't only apply to a DPDC au where Danny grew up in Gotham poor, but it was the first thing that I thought of where this might happen considering my Childhood Friends au.)
Now Sam's a compassionate girl, it's one of her defining character traits, but so is her hypocrisy and judgy-ness. She's the Not Like Other Girls' girl. This is in part of the show's narrative framing that makes her out like this, unfortunately though its still showing how she is as a character since its consistent enough to be part of her character description. There are also times where the show's depiction of her activism makes it look like she's performative about it. All of this makes her dynamic with a Danny who grew up poor in Gotham very interesting.
Anyways, Sam is aware of her privilege to an extent, but still has her blindspots - glaring ones, in some cases. Her self-righteous attitude would not go over well with a crime alley kid Danny. He'd like her, at first, but then she'd do something to make him mad - personally I think her judging people for not being vegan would annoy him the most, or at least would be the breaking point for him, because it was only recently that his family started actually being able to consistently put food on the table at all, good food nonetheless. And being vegan is expensive.
Any other behavior he noticed from her he'd slowly stop tolerating - her judging conventionally attractive girls and automatically assuming they're vapid and shallow for being feminine. Her anti-capitalist beliefs start coming off as superficial at worst, and Danny would eventually figure out that Sam either came from a family that was well off, or that she wasn't aware if her family was experiencing financial struggle.
He would still be friends with Tucker, but since Tucker imo is still friends with Sam, they'd still run into each other often enough to butt heads. Sam's got a nasty habit of refusing to take responsibility when she's wrong, but when Danny is arguing with her, and counterpointing her with stuff she can't retort back at without compromising her own beliefs, then forces her to start reflecting on herself. Especially when Tucker eventually starts siding with Danny and agreeing with him.
Does sam genuinely care about her beliefs and philosophies? Survey says yes. However that doesn't mean she's not ignorant, and she definitely is at times throughout the show (like when she released the purpleback gorilla thinking it 'wanted out of its enclosure' despite the fact that it was endangered and in an urban area) and I think it'd be a real fascinating dynamic between Danny and Sam to explore.
This isn't Sam hate btw, nor am I trying to make her out like "the worst person ever" bc she's not, i wanna make that explicitly clear. Sam Manson has a lot of positive traits about her but she also has an equal amount of negative traits that I think should be explored, she is not immune to the character development.

ok so like i’ve seen a few posts blaming mira and ephraim for what happened to ezra and i think that is. a weird take. anyway my personally belief is that tzeebo wasn’t their only plan for ezra if they were taken because they feel like the kind of people to have a network of allies if the goddamn governer of lothal was their friend. i also imagine that they weren’t the only people taken by the empire that night or afterwards, because i feel like it’s implied that they weren’t the only people speaking out against the empire? so like, they probably had a network of people to take care of ezra if something happened but that network dissolved due to arrests, people fleeing, etc etc until there was no way for anyone to find ezra or for ezra to find anyone else and then he was on his own and it was no one’s fault but the empire.

Hi Dad ♥ Thank you so much for the last answer you gave me, it really warmed my heart and brought my spirits up! making slow steps forward, but one thing I did this week was I talked to my doc about bottom surgery! im excited! on a more serious note, im hearing a lot of calls for political action among my distant online peers, and while I share sentiments with them, noones really able to give me all that much information on how I can get involved.... do you have any resources for those of us willing to get out and do some activism?
Hey kiddo!! Glad to hear from you again! And congrats on talking to your doctor, that's awesome and I'm really proud of you!
Activism for beginners: advice for accessing activism and get involved!
- Figure out which causes are important to you, what makes you angry? What are you passionate about? What change do you want to see in the world?
- What limitations do you have? Work hours, travel, school, disabilities or access needs, family, money?
- What kind of activism are you interested/could you do with the limitations that help your cause?
Protests? Boycotts? Demonstrations? Community work?
- Look locally. I personally used social media. There's 100s of groups, protests and information out there for you to search for
- Do something that you actually want to do, and not what you think you should do. If you don't feel passionately about the cause or find the idea of going on protest overwhelming, you're gonna struggle to do it consistently
- community groups or online groups can be a really good way to meet new people and learn more!
Let me know if you have any other questions!
- dad x

There's this popular category of life advice on here (I've seen two or three separate posts just recently) that basically boils down to "doing something good/kind/charitable for self-serving reasons (including 'wanting to feel good about oneself' or 'wanting to be admired') is functionally identical to doing it for purely selfless reasons." And while I do appreciate that they're largely intended to address a certain kind of fretful overscrupulosity (with which I sympathize!), and I obviously don't think it is selfish to derive happiness out of making others happy, I've gotta be the local killjoy and push back here because imo those posts overstate the case to kind of an alarming degree.
Sorry but it takes exactly one experience of watching horrified while some entitled donor acts as a human wrecking ball to an organization's stated purpose before you develop a healthy cynicism about charity, motive, and the human capacity to convince others (and frequently oneself!) that deeply destructive and self-serving actions are making the world a better place. Motive DOES matter and it's not because joy is inherently suspect, or because an act is only good if you personally suffer for it, or because you are being judged/deserve to be judged for every secret passing thought and emotion. It's because motive can and does have real material effect on outcomes.
So yes, agonizing over the perfect purity of one's motives as opposed to just doing the nice thing can definitely be taken way too far. On the other hand reasonable self-examination is absolutely a thoughtful, honest, necessary impulse and not a sign that you need to kill the joyless cultural puritan in your head or whatever [CITATION NEEDED].

Girls from foster care when they hear that their demographic has disproportionately high rates of entering the sex trade: Horrified and afraid this will become her fate.
Men who identify as "trans women" when they hear their demographic has disproportionately high rates of entering the sex trade: Delighted and adopts "sex work is real work" as their motto.
We are not the same.

A friend I've known since high school (that's over 20 years) is in the Columbia encampment and I've been worried sick about her potentially getting arrested or shot. She's already messaged me about the overbearing law enforcement presence at protests and demonstrations she's participated in. She's watched others get beaten and taken to jail.
She's been an angry Marxist for as long as I've known her and that fire has never dampened. I hope she can continue to safely let that fire inside her keep burning.

Reblogs appreciated- Charity Commissions
On October 6th 2022 Jaheim McMillan was gunned down by police. I’ve been compassion fatigued for so long, but this death broke me...again.
The gods have blessed me with a lot of fortune this year so I’m using my skills to try to pay those blessings forward.
Donate any amount, and I mean any amount and I will draw for you.
The more you donate the nicer your donated commission will turn out
$10 minimum for color
I will do as many donated commissions as it takes to get this fundraiser filled, but please note if I get swamped please have patience with me and feel free to nudge me if I’m taking awhile.
Please either forward the donation to me, or show me a receipt or email of proof of your donation. (I will email you proof I donated it.)  You can forward the reciept to [email protected]
As soon as this fundraiser is filled, I will rest for awhile before I do my next fundraiser.
Please let’s all try to be kind to each other in this dark time. Don’t give up. Keep fighting in little ways. It matters.
