WIP Wednesday: 09.13.23
So uh...about that Six Sentence Sunday...anyone actually remember that Selkie AU from like three years ago? 😂
For the past year, ever since the accident, Kagami had gone down to the beach below the cliffs every day.  Some days she stayed there longer than others, walking along the pebble-strewn beach with her bare feet in the lapping waves.  Sometimes she took Gabriel with her, especially if it was one of the days the seals had come up to the rocks.  She would spend hours down there on those days, Gabriel giggling from her lap as the seals played on the rocks.
Adrien hadn’t liked it at first.  He still didn’t know how he felt about it.  The sea had already tried to claim her once, and he worried sometimes that her draw to the beach was just the sea trying to claim her again.
He had only once tried to keep her from the beach.  She had grown hysterical, pounding on the manor doors as tears streamed down her face and guttural cries tried to leave her throat.  It was the closest to speech she had come since the accident, those ragged barks, and they had terrified him.  When he had finally been able to pry her from the door and Nathalie had been able to open it, she had thrown him aside and sprinted as fast as she could towards the beach.
He had found her later, asleep on the rocks with an older seal curled around her.  Stormy gray eyes had watched him as he’d approached.  He’d never been one to ascribe human attributes to beasts, but he would have sworn that seal had glared at him with nothing but loathing.  He had chased it off and carried Kagami back to the manor, and she hadn’t woken until late the next day.
Kagami liked the seals.  She liked the beach.  She liked the sea.
He didn’t remember her ever being particularly fond of those things before.
When he had asked the physician’s opinion, he hadn’t had any good answers for him.  It was part of the trauma, probably.  But shouldn’t being shipwrecked make her want to stay away from the sea?  Not always.  And the seals?  Maybe a seal saved her.  She doesn’t remember that night, Lord Agreste.
***
It had been months since the Matriarch had come to the beach, but when she burst from the waves in a spray of salt to land heavily on the rocks she immediately had their attention.  The beach had been a cacophony of agitated barks, Rose arriving shortly before to discover the human missing - her mate arriving not long after that, barking at Rose to come back, don’t run off like that, have you learned nothing???
The barking stopped with Anarka’s arrival, an eerie silence falling over the pebbles and sands as all heads turned towards her.
Her deep barks echoed over the rocks, her stormy eyes watching them all sternly.
What be the meaning of this? she demanded, turning her large gray head towards her daughters.  Rose, ye cannae -
She was here! Rose barked, slapping her flippers against the rocks.  She was here, and they let her go!  They’ve lost her again!
Lost who? Anarka asked, her eyes narrowing.  A younger seal approached, hesitant.
It had been months.
None of them had thought…
A…a human, he said, shifting anxiously under that imposing stare.  From the house above.  She…she has been coming to our beach for some time now.  It is why no one shifts here anymore.
Anarka’s eyes flashed in the low light.
A human?
Here?
No humans ever came here.
She was no human! Rose spat, the bark mangled with her snarls.  She was…!  It was…!
And she collapsed against her mate, sobbing, unable to think the words when the bitter hope was still so damnably fragile.
The others quickly relayed the tale, as Juleka had rocked her mate to sleep.  About the strange human girl that had started coming to their beach.  About the human child she often brought with her, and the blond male - her mate, they believed - who watched from the path and always swept her away if she came too close.  How they had avoided shifting whenever she was present, unsure and untrusting of her reaction to their kind.
How Rose had tackled her without a thought to any of this, shifting right on top of the poor girl, only to have her faint on her.  How Rose had ordered them to keep watch over her, but how her mate had ultimately come to retrieve her before they could return.
Why did Rose accost this poor girl? Anarka demanded.  Her keen eyes did not miss the nervous looks the others had shared.
She…we are not certain, Mother, the cow nearest her answered hesitantly.  But we suspect…
It was clear what they suspected, when the poor thing came barreling towards them late the next day.
They had all heard the commotion from the house, even down by the water.  The banging.  The ragged barks echoing from high above.  An attempt at their language, it seemed, one torn from a throat that had seemed to forget its tongue.  A sense of unease had settled over the bob, low yips and mutterings rising over the sound of shuffling flippers.
“Kagami!” a desperate voice echoed high above.  “Kagami, please!  Come back!”
They heard her before they saw her, the gravel and sand from the path skittering down the hill ahead of frantic feet.  The shouts dying out behind her - “Don’t tell me to let her go - I can’t…!” - as more of those horrible, ragged barks drew closer.
Until she stumbled onto the beach.
Until she saw the Matriarch there, tall and imposing and strong on the rocks.
…until her expression had crumpled, her mouth moving wordlessly as she tried to choke out a word - a name - with sounds that wouldn’t come.
Anarka would know that name anywhere, though.
Ma, the lips moved, even if there was no voice to speak it.
The sealkin had parted like a wave as she stumbled towards her on legs shakier than a newly-shifted pup’s, but she had barely crossed the beach when they were giving out on her and she was crumbling towards the pebbled sand.  Anarka moved then, letting out an anxious bark as she shifted and ran towards her, her coat falling forgotten on the rocks behind.
They had all seen the human girl from the house over the years.  Watched from a distance as she grew, as she came to stay with the son of the cruel man with the white hair and hard eyes.
And perhaps, from a distance, the human had looked the same, if a bit thinner.  Her hair had always been just as short, if a bit neater.  She had never come close enough to tell the color of her eyes, though even from a distance they had always looked darker.
The lady of the house had never come to the beach before.
They had only ever seen her from a distance.
It was easy to make mistakes, from a distance.
But this one…this one, they should have known.  Even out of her skin.  Especially out of her skin.
“Ye worthless lot…” Anarka hissed as she held the girl closer, rocked over her as a keening cry, a garbled sound, tried to leave her throat.  “When were ye planning on telling us?  How long would ye have us suffer?”
They should have recognized one of their own.
They should have recognized Marinette.
The girl was hysterical, unable to form words as she whimpered and clung to Anarka’s bare shoulders, rough nails scratching as they slipped along the sea-wet skin.  It wasn’t long before she had cried herself to sleep, and Anarka carried her back to the rocks.
…she…she has a mate, one of the younger cows said, looking anxiously towards the house above.
“O course she does,” Anarka bit, wrapping her skin around Marinette to keep her warm as she shivered in her arms.  “Mad with grief, he is, and ye lot let her stay…”
No, Mother, a human mate, the cow said, coming closer.  The blond man.  From the house.  He…he comes for her.  Takes her back.  Takes her home.  She…she is…are you certain?
Marinette’s eyes had always been brighter, her hair longer.  Smooth.  Silky.  Not the dull, hacked-to-bits mess currently trying to grow out on her head.  But the last any of them had seen, she’d been sinking to the depths, tangled in the wreckage of a human ship.  Who could know what else her poor girl had been through?  What cruel things those blasted humans had done in a attempt to keep her hostage?
…but sure enough, the blond came shortly after.  Anarka slipped back into her skin and watched as he approached, startled to find his…his…his what?  What could he possibly think their Marinette was to him?
She belonged to another.
She belonged to them.
She was sealkin, one of their own, and he was nothing but a rotten human, a filthy thief taking hostage of something that had never belonged to him.
He had set his jaw in a hard line, and not a moment later he was rushing towards the rocks like a madman, shouting and waving his arms as he told her to go, get, leave Kagami alone!
…Kagami.
That was not the name of the girl he scooped up from the rocks, the girl he bent to press his lips to her cool forehead as she slept on.  The girl who leaned into him, whimpering as tears streaked down grimy cheeks and a small, too-human hand fisted in his billowing white shirt.
Anarka watched them go, her heart breaking anew in her breast as she was forced to watch her daughter be taken from her again.
Ma… Rose called, her voice so soft and quiet - so scared - in her head.  But Anarka could barely hear her over the echoes of those barks, those voiceless cries, playing over and over in her head.  As that blond gully-raker walked farther and farther away, until he disappeared around the bend in the path and up the cliffs, taking with him…
The head of the Matriarch tipped back, her mouth opening wide as an aching, desperate howl echoed uselessly across the waves.

What do you think the dynamics would have been like if Adrien, Felix, and Kagami were all childhood friends?
(Should’ve been canon tbh bc surely Kagami would make more sense as a playmate than Chloe.)
let me preface this by saying i have a very particular perspective on chloe lol. there is s1-3 chloe, and then there's season 4-5 chloe. they are very different characters to me and i will treat them as such. i'll be talking about s4-5 chloe bc s1-3 chloe was murdered after miracle queen rip
so if it had been adrien, felix, and kagami and they excluded chloe, i think they all would have rebelled a lot earlier. i can see felix being their little ringleader, hitting self awareness faster, inciting rebellion against his father, gabriel, and tomoe. the three of them would probably be sneakier and more assertive while felix would have been warmer and more compassionate bc of adrigami's influence.
i also think their parents wouln't, like, mind it THAT much simply bc they had plans to get kagami to marry one of them anyway. i can see it very swan princess-style with the three of them, forced to play together all the time. i could definitely see adrigami being super close as kids and adrien following kagami around like a puppy while feligami clashes and everyone is like "oh well obvs kagami is gonna choose adrien." but then something clicks for feligami along the way and then they, idk, run off together at like 16 bc they've had enough of their parents and adrien pulls a luka and is just like 👨🏼‍🦯 i didn't see anything

See, if Marinette had started dating Luka before meeting Adrien and Adrien had started dating Kagami before meeting Marinette, it 100% would have ended in polyamory.

things i wish you said, by @asilentsonata
A fic inspired by the gladiolus flower
AO3; breakup thoughts, bisexual kagami tsurugi
Summary:
Post Adrigami breakup, Kagami thinks about her relationship. Based on “things i wish you said” by Sabrina Carpenter.
---
"Baby, sorry I left you in the dark, I always reach for your leg over there on your side of the car". "Baby, everything reminds me of you, nobody gets my jokes, everyone here thinks I'm fuckin' rude". "When I saw you cry, I didn't handle it well. Without you here, I don't know what to do with myself". I think about these things at night before I fall asleep… things I wish you said to me.
Kagami sat on her bed and stared at the dresser as she let herself think about what happened. How she’d messed up so bad. How she lost the best thing she had ever really had.
She had gotten in too deep and she knew it. But Adrien was amazing. He was so nice, so smart, so supportive… everything she wasn’t. She was blunt, abrupt, straightforward, awkward (and not in the cute way he loved seeing in Marinette), and goal-oriented. She was prideful. She saw what she wanted in everything she looked at. She was flawed. She was resilient. She was wrong.
Did she mean to accidentally tell him that his true personality wasn’t what she wanted? Of course not, that’d be ludicrous. But she told him that she didn’t believe it was really him, and that was pretty wrong.
She was glad he was still her friend. He was an exemplary companion, even from a platonic perspective. But she couldn’t help but wonder if they could’ve stayed together as a couple. Or if she’d just inadvertently sabotage that too.
She wanted to hear him say that he was sorry for loving someone else and leaving her alone. She wanted to tell him she was sorry she tried to make him into someone he wasn’t and she wanted him to accept it. She wanted him to miss her and want her back in his life. She wanted him.
A tear fell down her cheek before she even realized she was crying. She wanted him.
She remembered how much he loved flowers and their meanings. She remembered how he’d ecstatically infodumped about the flowers in a vase in her room, there because he had brought it as a birthday present for her. A gladiolus.
“I brought it here because it reminds me of you, Kagami.” He had grinned at her as he rubbed his neck, his default stim. “See how long and elegant it is? It’s also called a sword lily, and this flower in particular symbolizes victory and strength. It really sounds like you, doesn’t it? Because you fence, and you always win, and you’re so resilient and strong, I think it fits really well.”
“Yes, I… I suppose so.” She had smiled back, unsure how to react. “It’s really pretty, Adrien.”
“Just like you!” He had beamed. “I hope you like them.”
“I love them, Adrien.” She had affirmed. “Just like how I feel for you.”
I saw you met somebody, and I'm jealous as hell that I can't even stomach lovin' somebody else. I think about these things at night before I fall asleep… things I wish you said to me.
It hadn’t been that long since they’d broken up, had it? But there she was watching her best friend and her ex-boyfriend finally start a relationship.
The selfish part of her hated it. Realistically, she should hate it. But she couldn’t. She loved them both so much, and she was happy that they finally figured out what was right under their noses.
But that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt. That didn’t mean she wasn’t going to lie awake at night wondering what could have happened if she were sweeter. Kinder. Less of a lily, doomed to poison the cat that paid it any mind, more of a catnip that would keep a cat happy and coming back for more.
More like Marinette.
Kagami would be lying if she said she didn’t love Marinette. And she was happy for them, she was happy for them, she was happy for them. She just had to keep telling herself that.
Like maybe one day it would happen without trying.
Like maybe she didn’t have to pretend she wasn’t hurting because she lost both people in her life she truly loved.
"Sorry that I pulled the 'it's not you, it's me’. One day, I'll make sure you get a real apology". I waste my time, I waste my life on idiotic things… Like things you never said… things you'll never say to me.
‘I miss you’. ‘I’m sorry’. ‘I still care’. She could picture him saying it to her. She could picture herself saying it to him.
But she couldn’t. Because he wasn’t hers anymore. He was his own person and she was happy for him.
And those things were things he’d never said, things he’d never say to her.

Of Ribbons and Other Lost Things - Chapter 1: Symphony of Broken Hearts
AO3
1 | 2 | 3 | TBC
Summary: Marinette is about to tell her best friend the truth after a full year of lying: she is Ladybug. But the forces of the universe don't seem to like this idea. [Starts off right at the end of Gang of Secrets.]
“If I tell you things will never be the same between us again! It’ll mess up everything— maybe even destroy it!"
"Marinette.. I'm your very best friend.."
"And I— I’m.. Multimouse."
Luka Couffaine figured the akuma attack must’ve been bad if he could still remember every single detail over a week after it happened.
Truth had been one of the nastier ones; not just in terms of how conveniently his secret-exposing powers could’ve been misused, but also because of the can of worms it had already opened. No matter how many ‘miraculous ladybugs’ came after it, Luka could never unknow that Jagged Stone– his hero, his idol, his inspiration for years, that Jagged Stone– was his father.
Or how he’d subsequently tossed said father off the roof of a hotel minutes after his confession.
“Thanks for the pizza, Luka!”
“It’s no problem, Rose,” he replied, absentmindedly stuffing the both the notes and the tip into the pocket of his slate-blue jacket as he hopped back onto the bike. He’d just split them later, when he could close his eyes without recalling flashes of Ladybug’s yoyo or Chat Noir’s spotlit face twisting with panic.
Without remembering Anarka Couffaine’s panicked sobs as she pulled him in for a hug, when he’d finally made his way back home.
Rose Lavillant, his fellow band member and sisters’ girlfriend, frowned, reaching over her patio-fence to immobilise him by grabbing the bike’s wicker-basket with one hand and waving the other in front of his face.
“What’s going on?” She asked, giving the basket a little shake.
“Nothing,” Luka tried to discreetly tug his bicycle back but her grip was iron-tight, “Why.. Did– did Jule say something?”
His sister had been on his case almost as much as his mother.
Luka had always been the rational one in his family; the one to keep peace, go with the flow, take everything in stride, but he’d very nearly gotten re-akumatised when a certain purple-haired, black-goateed, I-was-too-lame-to-take-care-of-a-kid rockstar greeted him over Anarka’s shoulder by calling him ‘son.’
I’m not your son, he’d hissed with finality, and slammed the door to the room he and Juleka shared. He remembered unfairly snapping at his sister that night too, when she’d dared to suggest reconciliation.
It was a mixture of shock, heartbreak, and loneliness so severe, he wondered if the akuma hadn’t poisoned him beyond repair. He’d lost his best-friend, his girlfriend, and his hero, all in the span of five short hours.
Luka was sure everyone on the Liberty could hear the crying that night, despite how hard he’d tried to muffle the sound with his pillow.
“Is this about Marinette?” The blonde blurted out bluntly, oblivious to the way he flinched back into reality, “–because I don’t think she’s that upset about it to be honest.”
And, Marinette. He didn’t even know where to begin with Marinette.
“Maybe a little frazzled by the breakup, but not seriously disturbed in any way, which is weird because you did break into her house, but I’m sure she’ll forgive you if you just–“
“Thank you for the concern, Rose,” Luka interrupted firmly, plucking her fingers free of his bike, “But this is about something else.”
He adjusted the empty thermal food delivery bag, ensuring there was no way this one would fly off, akuma attack be damned, and hoisted himself onto the seat.
“Could you tell Jule to head back without me today? I’ve got an interview.”
It wasn’t the entire truth (God knows that hadn’t gotten him anywhere anyway), but it wasn’t the real reason he couldn’t pick up his sister either.
For the past week, Jagged had been showing up unannounced to the Liberty, armfuls of gifts (usually discontinued merch) in tow, determined to suddenly spend time with his children, and Luka was sure he was going to go insane.
Anarka chased him off the ship with a broom the first dozen times, No stowaways on my ship, ya scallywag!, but after he’d brought her a present too (a noise permit she’d gleefully shoved in Roger’s face), she let him stay till curfew.
Luka could usually avoid him last-minute– the gaudy purple tour bus parked right by the dock was a dead giveaway– but it wasn’t a sure-fire solution. So he reverted to plan B: a part-time job (or two) that would keep him till late, and away from his admittedly well-meaning father until he could figure out how he felt about all this.
Sort the sour tune of guilt and betrayal from the tiny notes of fondness that had begun to echo within him.
“Sure, I’ll tell her.”
Luka ducked his head gratefully and clipped on his yellow helmet, resisting the urge to rub the sleep-deprivation off of his face.
Now the only problem left was to find a place that would keep him busy till curfew, but was still flexible enough work around his pizza delivery schedule.
“But Luka–“ He turned back.
Rose was nibbling on her right thumb nail as she gave him a once over with her cartoonishly-blue eyes, “Are you okay?”
He smiled weakly instead of lying.
...
“If I tell you, things will never be the same between us again! It’ll mess up everything– maybe even destroy it!”
Marinette Dupain-Cheng was going to reveal her identity as Ladybug to her best friend, Alya Cesaire.
It’d been decided for her, the moment Alya had shut the trap door and gently confronted Marinette about her lies. She couldn’t keep it from her best friend, she’d only barely managed to keep it from Luka last week, and if it wasn’t meant to be then the universe wouldn’t have kept her back here... because.. because that was how things worked now.. right?
If Bunnix or a future version of herself didn’t pop out from a glowing portal to make sure she’d changed her decision, it probably meant that it was the correct one... or at least Marinette hoped it was. Because that was the logic she’d been basing almost all of her decisions around since him. She repressed the chill that crept up on her, recalling the ominous tinkle of a snow-white bell, the madness in his blue, blue eyes.
“Marinette.. I’m your very best friend..” Alya for her part, looked shocked by the outburst; it was so unlike her friend to be serious about something. As the brunette squeezed her shoulders softly, dispelling the ghost of Chat Blanc, Marinette made up her mind.
“And I–“ she began, mustering up the courage to look into Alya’s hazel eyes, “I’m–“
“Multimouse!”
“Yes, I’m, wait– what?”
Mullo, the mouse Kwami of Multiplication was hovering in mid-air, holding onto a necklace with a small, circular pendant. Marinette couldn’t be sure, but she had the distinct sense that the kwami was disappointed with her.
“Multimouse?” Alya gasped in delight, “You’re multimouse?”
“Pleased to make your acquaintance,” Mullo said uncharacteristically formal as she dropped the miraculous into Marinette’s lap, “I’m Mullo, Marinette’s kwami.”
“How many times do I need to tell you, Marinette? You can’t forget to wear the miraculous! That’s the whole point!”
She definitely hadn’t imagined it now. The mouse’s normally mischievous tone was dripping with venom.
“I– I’m–“ She mumbled, but the damage was already done. Alya let go of her shoulders to ooh and ahh appropriately at Mullo, and ask the kwami questions she couldn’t actually answer.
Marinette looked around her helplessly, gaze landing on the pink-and-white spotted sewing crate that housed the new Miracle Box, suddenly wondering if Tikki was in there– if this was all her doing.
“What was that you said?”
Mullo’s red eyes narrowed, honing in on the necklace pendant she’d let remain on her lap uselessly, daring Marinette to finish her train of thought. Maybe this was the sign.
“I’m sorry,” she finished lamely, picking up the necklace to latch it around her neck. Master Fu had warned her not to wear too many miraculouses at a time, but she figured only the two couldn’t hurt. Besides, she had to sell this new lie.
“Girl, you know I don’t blame you,” Alya said excitedly, returning to her place on Marinette’s chaise, “Ladybug told you to keep your identity a secret, huh?”
“YeAH,” Marinette replied squeakily, “Ladybug did– she’s um..“
“I know. She’s a little strict about that,” Alya elbowed her good-naturedly, “Still– I’m jealous. You and Chat get to keep yours forever, while some of us have to wait for Ladybug to decide wether or not she needs us.”
“Yeah– well, that’s because.. um..” She wracked her brain to come up with a way to deflect what was definitely her best friend’s passive-aggressive way of asking how she’d convinced Paris’ Greatest Superhero to entrust her with a power permanently.
“Wait,” Marinette pretended to gasp, “Some of ‘us’? Alya, are you..”
She didn’t know what she was expecting. Maybe for Alya to drop the subject, or change the topic - maybe stammer a little over a slip of tongue like she’d been teased for doing so often.
“Yep,” Alya replied nonchalantly, “Rena Rouge at your service.”
Marinette hadn’t expected that.
“Alya!” She covered her friend’s mouth impulsively, before the brunette pushed her away, “You’re not supposed to tell me that!”
“You just told me,” Alya pointed out, “–and there’s no use in hiding it anyway. After what happened with Hawkmoth and Chloé’s mega tantrum last month as Queen Wasp, I doubt she’ll be reinstating me anytime soon.”
“I- I suppose.. you’re right,” Marinette sighed, trying not to let too much defeat into her voice. She didn’t want to accidentally trigger Alya’s journalist senses.
“It’s probably for the best,” her friend looked down, “I’m not really cut out for that superhero life, though I’ll miss the little rascal.”
Marinette swallowed the urge to guiltily glance at the sewing box again, inside which Trixx was no doubt eavesdropping on the entire conversation. It was her fault they’d lost, after all; if Ladybug had just de-transformed, if she’d just stuck to the rules that Master Fu had set out for her, he’d still be.. they’d all be..
“But I’m still happy for you, Marinette!” Alya smiled, pulling her into a side-hug, “It’s a little scary but it’s exciting isn’t it? Being a real-life superhero?”
“It’s a lot of pressure,” She managed, sinking into the warmth of her friend’s hug. For a brief second, she wondered if this what it would’ve felt like if she’d told Alya nine months ago, when she’d first come into possession of the little miraculous box with the earrings. It felt nice.
Before Marinette could stop herself, all of her fears tumbled out.
“What if- what if I’m not cut out for this, Alya?”
“What’re you on about?”
Marinette was talking about being the Guardian, of course, but her friend didn’t know that.
“What if I mess everything up, and the miraculouses get stolen or what if I get akumatised and Hawk Moth– Shadow Moth now– finds out my identity and what if he takes them.. er.. it. What if he hurts my family or the bakery and what if the ladybugs can’t fix it and Chat’s already mad that I’m... um she’s keeping things from him, what if I break up the team, what if–“
“Marinette,” Alya pulled back and shook her by the shoulders to stop the overflow of words, watching tears fill up her friend’s eyes.
“I’m scared, Alya. I’m scared and tired, and tired of being scared and scared of being too tired, and I broke up with Luka because he just keeps getting akumatised when I’m around and he didn’t sign up to date a superhero anyway. So it’s not fair, to him or Adrien or anyone I might like in the future.”
“Maybe I should just quit now before I royally screw up.” Again, Marinette added in her head.
Alya fell silent at that, cupping her chin in contemplation. “Okay, quit.” She said finally.
Marinette’s head went blank as she looked at her friend in disbelief.
“But– but–“
“Quit,” Alya offered, more confidently this time, “What’s wrong?”
“I can’t just–“
“Why not?”
“Because–  Ladybug– I mean..“
“Ladybug can always give your miraculous to someone else. There can be another Multimouse. Why can’t you quit, Marinette?”
“Because it’s wrong,” she said quietly. Because I don’t have a choice.
“No– because it’s you,” Alya corrected, taking Marinette’s hands in hers and giving them a quick squeeze.
“What’s me?”
“Multimouse.. she’s a part of you, just as much as Marinette is.”
“But I’m so clumsy and forgetful, what if I–“
“Someone entrusted you with this miraculous because they know how capable you are. Other people can see things in you that you can’t always see.”
A flash of Master Fu’s soothing chuckle and sympathetic face came to her, and the tears she’d hidden threatened to rise up again.
“You’re kind and sweet and a loyal friend, Marinette,” Alya’s brown eyes filled with genuine admiration for her, “You’ve got a good heart, girl– you just need to trust it a little more.”
“You’re our everyday Ladybug for a reason, you know?”
“Okay,” She released a long breath.
While it wasn’t exactly how she’d intended the conversation to go, Marinette felt strangely better after talking to Alya and getting some, if not all, of her worries off her chest.
“You’re right, I just had a bad moment. I can recover from this.”
“Of course you can.” Alya cheered, “You’re Marinette Dupain-Cheng. You can do anything!”
She felt the blush rise to her cheeks.
While she received praise daily for masquerading as Ladybug, Marinette was still unused to people complimenting her civilian identity, especially since she’d always just been silly Marinette to everyone; silly Marinette, clumsy Marinette, awkward, uncoordinated, foot-in-her-mouth Marinette. To everyone except–  well, there was no use in thinking about him either.
“C’mon,” Alya grabbed her hand, making for the trap door, “Let’s see if we can get some ice-cream. All this superhero talk's got me in the mood for André’s LadyNoir special.”
“Ugh,” Marinette made a face, “You know they aren’t actually dating right–“
“I know, girl,” Alya giggled, “It’s just half-price for the next few days!”
“Fine, I’m coming.”
Marinette caught a glimpse of a red and black-spotted kwami flitting out of the sewing box to wave her over. Marinette, she could hear Tikki’s tiny voice in her ear, We need to talk.
“Nino just texted, the cart’s by Le Grand Paris hotel today,” Alya smiled fondly down at her phone, and Marinette tore her eyes away from her kwami’s frantic beckoning.
“I- I’ll catch up with you, I just need to grab something first.”
“Alright, but don’t take too long Marinette,” the brunette lowered herself down the stairs, “–or should I call you Multi-nette now?”
“Alya!” She cried, scandalised.
Her friend’s head disappeared with a wink.
“What about Mousinette then?”
“ALYA!”

I believe the miraculous ladybug fandom is missing out on the greatest crossover ever: How to Train Your Dragon x Miraculous Ladybug: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir. It could be genius, it would be genius, it is genius.
May I interest you in this unfinished gem by @flightfoot ?
It's Adrigami centric and absolute gold! XD The dragons take inspiration from the books as well as the movies (they can talk!) And the ML characters fit really well into the adapted storyline. I love it so much. ^_^

Dear ML Fandom,
Do we have a list of funny Adrinette fics where Mari is emphasized as Adrien's VERY GOOD FRIEND and she retaliated for revenge/fun??? or where Adrien is talking about Buttercup and he's clueless it's him?? Basically fics where Adrien is an idiot but a very lovable one and you just cannot stop reading.
Something like the ones in the list below, and yes I realize I am just about to share my own list again LOL, so feel free to read if you're in the mood. But pretty please give me more suggestions to add to this list because I am currently in the need for more.
I wanna be amused/laugh at the silliness of fluffy things.
So here goes:
My list of Lovable idiot Adrien fanfics (in order of my latest nth reread/recollection)
1) Adrien Is A Dumb Blond by DracoGal - one shot where Marinette is a brave girl who confessed and flirts above and beyond (A++ really) and is still labelled a VERY GOOD FRIEND because Adrien is that clueless.
2) your keysmash says it all by Noukon - a very sweet friendship social media series fic where our Mari is a sweet friend who loves Buttercup but is still shipping Adrigami out of loyalty, and Adrien is having feelings/stirrings but he's also blind. This brought me a whole lot of big smiles but is also still ongoing.
3) words he only dreamed to hear by alizeh (maketea), maketea - where LB is the sweetest and they are officially dating (and kissing, yes your honor) but our boy is clueless, he doesn't know they're dating.
4) pretty lady, look at how he's smiling by Missnoodles - this is more sweet and romantic than funny but I wanna add it in this list anyway because well, it is SO cute and they fell in love because of camembert and etsy cards lol

I'm gonna say it: Miraculous Ladybug is one of the most toxic fandoms related to the ships and that's a fact. Don't try to tell me I'm wrong.
I saw a lot of pins in Pinterest of Adrigami, Lukadrien, Kagaminette and more ships with comments like "Wtf is this?", "Disgusting", "The only good ship in MLB is Adrinette", "Marinette only deserves to end with Adrien".
Are. You. Serious?
People can ship whatever they want, and if someone ships Lilanette, Chloénette, Alyanette, Ninonette or another ship it's up to them. You don't have to say they're mentally ill for not shipping Adrinette. Just because a ship is canon doesn't mean everyone has to like it. And if you don't like Lilanette, Chloénette, Alyanette or any ship involving Marinette and a classmate of her, just ignore it. Don't watch posts of that ship or read fics just to say you hate it. Because if you do that, don't complain when people decide to do the same with Adrinette.

Hey, do you have any recommendations for Lukanette, Adrigami, and/or Julerose fics?
I don't generally read Lukanette. The pairing's fine in and of itself, I think that Luka and Marinette would have a happy marriage and a good time together, but I've had so many bad experiences with Lukanette shippers vilifying Adrien, Alya, and the class, that I can't really derive any enjoyment from the ship, I just have too many negative associations with it. Lukadrienette and Lukadrigaminette are fine since I've never had bad experiences with other characters being bashed to promote the poly, but Lukanette... no.
I had about a year where saltfics NEVER LEFT MY HEAD and I kept on having flashbacks to my favorite characters being demonized and vilified and punished for it, with those flashbacks running through my head for hours on end while my throat choked up like I was about to cry, for hours at a time, on a daily basis. I REALLY can't stand anything I associate with that. I still can't stand saltfics, but my throat doesn't close up and I don't get a ton of flashbacks anymore when I see them at least, I just get angry.
There IS still one Lukanette fic series I've liked and recommended, but it's less because of the Lukanette and more because of the exploration of Luka's and Felix's characters (and it turns into FeLuka later on).
As for Adrigami... it's a nice ship, but there's very little content for it, especially in more recent years. It mostly vanished once season 4 got going, and it wasn't exactly common before that. I've got some Adrigaminette and Lukadrigaminette recs if you're interested in those though?

Boomer!Luka: FeLuka Ending series by @19thsentry-blog
In the Shadows (the first fic in the series) summary:
On one side is Luka, 140-year-old Snake Miraculous holder and keeper of the Guardian's secrets, on the other is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a relatively newly minted hero of Paris and Guardian of the Miracle Box. Each is looking to fulfill their promises to their now gone mentors to reunite the Kwamis and keep them safe. Sounds simple--until you throw in a rocky start, the Atlantic Ocean, Félix Graham de Vanily, and a whole host of secrets…and suddenly simple becomes complicated (story of Marinette's life, right?).
So this is obviously way outside my normal wheelhouse. I don’t typically read Lukanette fics, even ones that turn into FeLuka later on in the series (though boy it becomes apparent quickly that the author’s fascinated with FeLuka’s dynamic.) But this one is really good, with the best Luka-centric fics I’ve ever read, and some of the best Felix-centric content as well. I love how Luka has his own baggage here, with all the pressure of wandering around for over a century, looking after the few Miraculous he found, trying to keep what’s left of the Order alive, unaware of Fu’s survival or of the Miraculous user’s re-emergence in Paris. There’s a lot of focus on Luka’s own feelings and thoughts and problems, not just on helping other people with them.
The plot works even without the romantic aspect, so even if Lukanette isn’t a pairing that draws you in, I still recommend this fic, so long as you don’t actively dislike the pairing itself. And even though it’s a Lukanette fic, Adrien and Alya are treated fairly and with respect. Adrien may not end up with Marinette and is bummed about it, but the narrative is still kind to him overall, there’s clearly no ill well towards him, or Alya for that matter. (There are later fics in the series that focus more on Adrien just healing and coping and living after finding out that his father’s a villain and his mom’s been in the basement this whole time, and in the multiversal travel fic, Alya gets some standout appearances as Scarabella which are fun).
And FELIX - it’s clear that 19thsentry has this whole conception about Felix’s psychology. He’s wrapped in a ton of self-loathing until it started to consume him, made him lash out. Him being a sentimonster, wanting to get the Peacock Miraculous, actually gave him some direction for that at least. And he’s just in this pit of his own making, until he meets Luka, who can see through him when no one else can, who cares for him even though he doesn’t understand why, who’d been through so much over the years and yet kept himself kind. He’s attracted like a moth to a flame, infuriated that he cares, yet not able to stop himself from caring about this mysterious, infuriating musician.
Yeah if you can’t tell this is the series that really sold me on FeLuka as a couple.
Oh yeah, one of the fics in here is M-rated, and it does earn the M rating for sexual content, though it’s nothing too major.

Three’s company by @torvalvt
Kagami has been doing her best for years to ignore her feelings for her friends. It doesn’t help that Adrien and Marinette insist on spending as much time as possible with her, even going so far as inviting her along on their dates together. If only the affection she felt for them wouldn’t get in the way of their relationship. Because it is growing harder and harder to tamp down her feelings with how close they are getting to her.
This is adorable. Adrien and Marinette really want Kagami to join their relationship and she just doesn’t dare hope for it. If you want some adorable Adrigaminette from Kagami’s perspective, I recommend checking this fic out!

Hold Me By Both Hands by @angelofthequeers
“I know he said never to take you back,” Plagg mutters. “But he’d change his tune if he knew.” He looks Adrien straight in the eye and, more serious than Adrien’s ever seen him before, says, “There’s someone you gotta meet. He’s been looking for that book for ages.” How differently might the events of season 2 have gone if Adrien had also known of Master Fu from the start?
Look I've literally written a series of essays going over the various aspects of the plot threads in this fic, it's one of the best ML fics I've ever read if you've wanted a fix-it for seasons 2 and 3. Especially with the way Chloe's redemption arc was handled, it's STILL the best Chloedemption arc I've ever read in a Miraculous fic, and I've read a LOT of Miraculous fics.

You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess by @mexicancat-girl
With Team Miraculous now full-time holders, Ladybug has them patrolling in pairs like her and Chat Noir. New partners Pigella and Purple Tigress get along phenomenally, their easy banter and similar wavelengths making working with each other a joy in and out of combat. But sometimes Tigress is surprised just how close she is with her partner. Sometimes she tries not to feel too guilty thinking about it.
There’s some nice Julerose here! I love them kinda getting into a lovesquare with each other, though it’s not as much of a problem as it is in canon since it’s reciprocal in every relationship and they’re both down for a poly. It’s fun, and I love the “Luka attempting to woo some of his love interests” plot going on in the background XD.

How Could I Not? by SorryJustAnotherPerson
In fairy tale books, Princesses were saved by nights from ferocious dragons. Those books were not their story, but Rose was happy to flip over a new page with her Juleka every single day. Many years ago, she was put to this tower by her parents and her kingdom, along with a fire breathing dragon, so she could find her prince charming one day. How foolish for them to not calculate her falling in love with the dragon. I mean seriously. How could she not?
I love fairy tale type stories, especially fractured fairy tales. And Juleka being a dragon is awesome. This is just a fun and adorable story.

The echoes there of me and you (The voices that are carrying this tune) by @tiredfloridianbutverygay
Juleka finds herself gifted an old castle in Scotland by an auntie she never even knew she had. At first, she's thinking she'll use it as a vacation home. Then she meets Rose, a ghostly blonde woman from another time who's been alone for decades and who's achingly in need of a friend. Juleka's never believed in the paranormal, the supernatural but it's hard to deny the blonde's existence. It's also hard to deny her growing affection for the specter. The specter, who Juleka knows should be moving on and the specter who Juleka knows might just need a bit of help doing so...

Fanfic Author 20 Questions
Thanks to @erisluna35 for sending this along! 1. How many works do you have on AO3?
On AO3? Right now 63, soon to be 64(tomorrow probably) and a couple on FF.net
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
1,020,860 on AO3 plus another ~86K fic I never ported over to AO3, as my 'recent' stuff, starting back in 2021
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Miraculous Ladybug, I did others a long time ago before joining AO3, but that was a long time ago. I've considered a couple others recently too, but nothing yet.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
At The Gala- A Chlonette fic inspired by fanart, and actually the sequel to my #2 by Kudos. This is just a cute series of strange interactions with Chloe from Marinette's PoV, culminating in understanding and discovery on a fated evening.
Slippery slope- Little Chlonette ficlet inspired by a fanart. Very short, it's about how a single unexpected moment can change someone's entire world.
Ever After- A long chapter fic set more than a decade post-canon that looks into the idea that 'Ever After' can be a long time, and that expecting life to be solved at 14 is a recipe for eventual disaster. Yet at the same time life continues to offer new experiences, new possibilities, and new ways to grow. Ships include Adrienette, Chloadrien, and Felinette.
Showing Love- An alternate ending to Queen Wasp, where instead of reuniting Chloé with her horrible mother by highlighting everything horrible about her (seriously, what?) Marinette comes face to face with the reality that a mother really *can* not love a child. Being Marinette she can't let such a thing stand, even if it is Chloé. Marinette&Dupain-Cheng family goodness.
What Do you See?- Adrigami fic that kicks off right in the middle of Kuro Neko. While Adrien is struggling with the pain of giving up Cat Noir, one thing crosses his mind. He can finally give one important person the truth she deserves. After all, he *Was* Cat Noir, not *is*. The two both struggle to navigate the ramifications of this revelation, especially when Plagg shows up once more with the ring. (there's a little bit of eventual Lukanette)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to respond to most, especially any questions or curiosities. I love engagement.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh heck this is so not fair. I am in love with bittersweet ending, and have a couple of doozies.
I can't decide between three.
What Happened- The 'real reason' Chloé Bourgeois's redemption arc failed. What do you di when you do everything right, only to find out your happiness causes the end of the world, in every timeline?
A Modest Proposal- Marinette is happily impatient for Adrien to finally propose to her. Little does she know, a secret long kept is going to come back to haunt her. It's worse than you think.
The Risk Outweighs- A look into someone else's life during the episode 'Risk'. The courage to do anything finally gives Chloé the strength to break from the cycle. But the Ladybugs must set things right, and a few moments of clarity weigh nothing against a lifetime.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Again, lots with happy endings, though I prefer 'open' endings, so...hmmm
Cafe Noir- has an unambiguously happy ending, but I specifically set out to write a romcom so that feels like cheating.
Dog Daze- probably has the most comprehensively happy ending, Adrien's dad even managed to try to parent. They do go through a lot on the way to the happy ending though.
In Direct Opposition- My latest work, seems to end on a solidly happy note for all involved.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Ever After drew some upset people that expected their OTP to be the main ship. I never tried to deceive anyone, but a few people were just really upset.
I also had this weird thing where someone thought I was someone else, and stalked my comments for a while. That's why I use moderation now.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've done M rated fics. I'm not sure 'smut' works for them, even if there's lots of sex narratively, it's usually mentioned rather than being detailed. I did one single 'this will be a smut fic' fic. And even that ended up with like, 5K words mostly plot, and about 2 paragraphs of (I think emotional and important) sex.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nah, I've never had the crossover itch. I generally find each world intriguing enough on their own.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of...
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yep! I had someone ask if they could translate one of my fics to Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. Talked about it before, but never went through with it. Not against the idea. I do a lot of rubber ducking for my friends though, so some of my ideas can end up in their finished fics.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I'm going ot have to go with adribrina, my goobers. I like exploring all kinds of ships, and these two I threw together on a whim but Oh, they're so comfy! I wrote Puppy Love to see how they would work, and then that evolved into Dog Daze, my Largest work to date. I had *intended* for them to amicably break up and Sabrina to be a wing-woman to Adrien in the canon ship of Adrienette.... but they just did not want to break up. Even if they wouldn't admit they were dating, they were just too *comfy* together. These two make me happy. (Marinette ended up okay though, she's happy!)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
A third fic in my Senti-Sentai AU. 'Worlds Collide'. It was set in 'vague eastern Europe country in the middle of violent conflict' and then that suddenly got too real, too quickly.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Character voice. I write third person limited, and I've been told many times that I do a very good job of writing characters as their canonical selves, just in different situations that bring about different outcomes or changes in them. I consider that a high compliment, because the characters are what I am here for.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Brevity. Even simplistic plots 'enemies to friends road trip' become detailed 'Marinette manipulates Chloé into chasing Adien and Lila across the globe to prevent Lila from wheedling an arranged Marriage out of Gabriel' and then that blossoms into a 98K fic.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I feel like my last of understanding grammar and colloquialisms for another language would have me sounding like bad google translate. Singular words used? Viable.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
SWATKats. My first ever fanfic was a 30K fic about that show.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
They are all my babies! This is so not fair. I've spoken about some of my favorites earlier though, so I'll use this spot to mention some other ones :)
He's Perfect- Gothic Horror Adrienette! It even has a sequel and an entire AU in my head if I can circle back.
The Orphan and the Marionette- Written to feel like one of Grimm's fairy tales. Chlonette(kind of) with a heavy dose of magic and a surprise appearance from Marianne.
There are so many more but I'll plug Dog Daze again, because I to like how it flows and the alternate S5 we get from it. It also inspired a raft of 'post story' one shots, and I have another chapter fic waiting in the wings to continue the AU. There's plenty of stories to tell here.
@taketwoinink Tag, if you would like to play.

Also in the solitary confinement situation, adrien constantly talked with felix(unaware he is felix) non stop even after felix fell asleep, felix now officially knows way more about adriens life than adrien himself does. He also knows how many tiles there were in the room and the lore of 12 animes start to finish. Not to mention too many details about how marinettes hair looks under moonlight or sth probably. at some point felix felt so awful for him he even stopped teasing him. Even attempted to make puns like thats how bad it was
this is way too easy for me to imagine lol. like i might even have to make a fic out of it bc i cannot get the image of adrien & felix lying awake in the dark, twin telepathizing their shared nightmares & comiserating, out of my head.
like adrien would be like "do you know he gave me a foosball table and no one to play it with" and felix would just be like "you would've lost anyway"
or felix would say "something just like this happened in the shoujo manga i'm reading" and adrien like "you read manga?" and felix: "yeah kagami made me" and adrien "nerd. anyways about demon slayer--"
and lol adrien talking about "my nightmare is of me acidentally destroying the world" and felix seeing exactly what adrien's seeing, chat blanc and dead ladybug in his arms and just being like "lol wait. wtf."
and then adrien asking why felix isn't plagued by nightmares like everyone else and felix looking at adrigami on his alliance going "well it's already real innit."

Just a random fun bit of Plagg/cheese fun for anyone who wants to use it(I used it in adrigami fic where Adrien told her hos ID)
There's a Japanese style of Camembert(Called Sakura cheese) that was created only relatively recently (70's I think?) I had her bring him some. A type of cheese Plagg had never tried!
oh dope!!

You know what’s the biggest proof that salt fic writers are hypocrites who refuse to acknowledge that Adrien is a good guy and the class aren’t Lila’s mindless drones? They pick and choose which episodes to include in the canon of their stories. Like, they make it so that Lies happened in their stories so Adrien and Kagami are broken up, but they pretend Truth never happened so they can keep their precious Lukanette ship in tact. So it’s okay to break up Adrigami and leave Adrien single, but Marinette can’t lose Luka, even though both couples broke up for the same reason? You know what that does, writer? That makes people be able to smell your bias from a mile away.
They refuse to acknowledge the episodes that show Adrien working to help Marinette, or Alya being a good, loyal friend to her, because it doesn’t support their belief that Adrien is a selfish coward who doesn’t give a s**t about Marinette, or that Alya is a toxic friend who leeches off of her kindness. Worse still, sometimes they pick and choose certain parts of the episode that support their theory. Like, they leave in the part from Ladybug where Lila models with Adrien, but leave out the part where he made a deal with her to clear Marinette’s name. It’s like after Chameleon, people decided to only acknowledge the BAD things Adrien and the class did, like they decided that only the BAD things they did mattered, and everything good they do from that point on doesn’t count. Like that one bad moment in Chameleon is what defines them.
The girl squad act concerned for Marinette in Gang of Secrets and try to help her get over her breakup? Doesn’t count, write a fic about them taking advantage of Marinette.
Alya does stellar work as Rena Furtive and even subs for Marinette while she’s gone, giving Marinette some much-needed support? Doesn’t count, write a fic about her neglecting Marinette for Lila.
Adrien makes a deal with the devil to clear Marinette’s name and secretly sacrifice himself to Lila to keep her from bullying Marinette? Doesn’t count because he didn’t save Marinette the way the author would have wanted him to, wrote a fic where he willingly allows Marinette to be tormented by Lila.
Because the characters did things THEIR own way with THEIR knowledge of events and THEIR morals, instead of handling things exactly the way the salters wanted them to, because they didn’t handle things in a way that would have completely served Marinette’s interest, because their actions inconvenienced her slightly for one or two episodes, salty fans write them off as poisonous influences in Marinette’s life, willfully ignoring every ten wonderful actions to Marinette to the one not-so-great action to her. They’re all “Marinette gets enough consequences”, and think that means that every single character should just bend over backwards to accommodate her to compensate for her bad luck, instead of having morals and opinions of their own. Which is why they like Luka, because his whole character revolves around pleasing her and serving her interests entirely.
The fact that the salt writers have to pick and choose which episodes that happened in the lore of their fanfictions, just to paint Adrien and the class as villains and sell the idea that “Marinette deserves better”, just goes to show that at this point, they’re grasping at straws.

Adrino Fic Recs - Part 2!!!
I’ve been promising this for months, and I’ve been struggling to finish any of my fics, but I figured this was something I could definitely finish! And share with you all.
Here’s is Part 1 if you missed it the first time. I was in search of romantic Adrino when curating this list, but a few of the ones that made the list might be a bit ambiguous and could be interpreted either way.
Here we go again in no particular order:
(Actually, I lied, the multi-chapters all ended up at the end):
1) In which Adrien braids his boyfriend’s hair by @ck2k18. The title says it all. This is a little tiny one-shot, and it packs an emotional punch of pure sweetness. And I can’t say more than that. It’s just perfect. You should read it!
2) Blindsided by Leisey. Nino has figured out Adrien’s identity, so despite his own feelings, he’s determined to set Adrien up with Ladybug, but Adrien isn’t cooperating. I positively adore the narrative voice the author has written for Nino in this one. It’s just delightful and fun and hilarious all in one. Longer one-shot.
3) Corrupt you on the dance floor/take you home by Reiaji Nino doesn’t fit in Adrien’s crazy life. But somehow he’s still in it, and he’s not letting go. This is the same person who wrote “whose woods these are (I think I know)” so you know they just have a way with metaphors and imagery and making your feel things, and this one-shot is no exception to that.
4) Would you Rather? By SiderealSandman The class is having discussions on who they would rather kiss. Ladybug or Chat Noir. Nino and Adrien are both super embarrassed. This is just mostly miracuclass shenanigans in an au where Nino is Ladybug. One-shot.
5) Emotional Support Turtle by Distraught_by_your_Love Nino figures Adrien out and then helps him run away from home. This one alternates between narrative scenes and text fic, and I love it. This writer really did capture Nino’s voice in both dialogue and text. Platonic longer one-shot.
6) Chit-Chat by MuseofWriting Chat Noir keeps visiting Nino to hang out, and Nino has no idea why, but he doesn’t want it to stop. Again, more platonic, but it hints at something more developing. One-shot.
7) Your Secret is Safe by WoodenSuitcase When Ladybug lets it slip that she told her identity to Alya who is her best friend, Chat comes to the conclusion that Ladybug is Nino. This setup is borderline crack and requires a bit of suspension of disbelief, but the concluding conversation about pronouns is just so wholesome and made me cry the first time I read it. One-shot.
8) How We Began by Heart With A Vacancy Adrien tells the story of how he and Nino began to their child. Beyond precious. Established relationship. Short one-shot.
9) I can think of something better by @ladynoirist Chat has a tendency to come visit Nino after Nino’s had some rough days. Nino starts to notice some patterns. They’re kinda dating in this one, but it’s never actually acknowledged. Super cute! One-shot.
10) Antihero Adrien WIP Two: Carapace Edition by LoganLight (@chronicallylatetotheparty) Look! I can read this one over and over again, and it makes me feel things. This writer is kinda my idol for fight scenes with emotional subtext that just makes everything feel raw. (The Adrigami part one of this is also amazing). Little tiny one-shot. But it’s intense.
11) Off the Mark by @buggachat Nino vents to Adrien about Chat being weird, so Adrien keeps changing Chat’s behavior to make Nino happy, which just makes Nino feel even more weird. Both hilarious and sad. Ultimately cathartic. Platonic longer one-shot.
12) Out of Your Orbit also by @buggachat Buggachat apparently is in the habit of dropping multi-chapter fics all at once out of friggin nowhere (in addition to almost daily comics). This particular fic is amazing!! The characterizations are perfect. There is longing/pining, core four shenanigans with so much hilarity, but also feelings, and definitely lots of romance. Features Alyanette throughout the fic, but this story is ultimately about Adrino. I’ve already reread this one like three times. No powers au. Multi-chapter.
13) Best Friends and Boyfriends by Kasienda More shameless self promotion, and I feel less awkward this time because there’s so few multi-chapter stories with this pairing. But basically, in this incredibly self indulgent fic, Chat and Carapace are dating pre-reveal while Adrien and Nino are talking to each other about their boyfriends. Also features background Alyanette. Mostly fluff with a little bit of disagreement thrown in for depth. I find the make up (and make out) scene and reveal in this one to be SO SATISFYING. This is my comfort fic. I reread it when I’m sick. Hope you enjoy it!
And that’s part two of my recs! Hope you enjoy them!
