i'm really so curious how deeply tbhx is gonna go with its whole premise of "heroes are made and gain powers based on trust" because i really wasn't anticipating that

1) moon/xiao yueqing has teleportation-based powers but because everyone wants her and nice to stick together, her teleportation leads back to nice which was INSANE to me

and

2) lin ling is becoming increasingly more worried about being clean and perfect which is a side effect of nice's image of perfection which is indicating that this whole trust system can have mental effects??? and that's horrifying to me???

genuinely curious how the writers and larger dragon age audience would treat thom rainier if instead of being appropriately* repentant and putting himself in prison he blew up a major orlesian government building to instigate a chevalier rebellion or tried to have someone do some necromantic blood magic ritual involving uncertain danger and possible sacrifices to bring the innocent children he ordered killed back to life

I'm still being so normal about Jack. He's literally just Some GuyTM who was actually pretty good of a person for someone in the gaslight district. He just got really, tragically unlucky.

We can see from the pictures and the way that Mud and Mel talk about him that he was VERY close with this family and probably understood just how toast he was when he learner their little family secret by accident. Mel was comfortable enough with him to be reading a dirty magazine in front of him and neither of them seemed to think anything of it. She gave him a second chance to agree to hide the secret and live and he turns it down. Mud gave him a cig before they threw him into the sea.

We can see from his organ donor card that he also trusted them all. He wrote a little heart next to his name. Outside of the shop, he lives with his mother, and she's now probably wondering what happened to him. He trusted Ken enough to let him be the witness on the organ donor card.

He and Mel have a shockingly raw conversation in/on a fast-moving vehicle a few mere minutes into the pilot and it ends in a car crash because neither were paying attention to the road. He asks if what is happening to him right now will happen to Mud and Breadhead when they find out too. He tries talking to Mud and Breadhead, even as they were brutalizing him, trying to get them to just listen to him, to understand what was happening. They cement him anyways.

thinking once again about how abby was (is) so deeply hated as a TLOU character even tho like. at the heart of her story she is a sympathetic character. her motivations and her grief are understandable, and not that far removed from joel’s or ellie’s. i just think if your primary introduction to a character is to have them brutally kill another character (who benefits from many hours of audience devotion and insight), it’s gonna be a steep climb back into empathetic territory. i wish they’d waited until the end to kill joel in both formats. maybe give folks a chance to empathize with abby before she did All That. by having it at the beginning she is already the villain, and i think it can be very hard to walk that back in a way that feels meaningful.
