A mural of the Palestinian prisoner Ahmed Manasra appeared in Mar Elias refugee camp in Lebanon.
It was recently reported that Ahmed is losing his vision and suffers from mental illness as a result of his solitary confinement for the last two years of his eight years of imprisonment. Imprisoned at 13 years old in 2015, he is serving a nine and a half year sentence. #FreeThemAll

This is the reality for many Palestinian children in the Israeli prison system.
[Video transcript:
While we're on the topic of Palestinian prisoners, or as I like to refer to them, hostages. We need to talk about the case of Ahmed Manasra.
Who is serving a 9 and a half year sentence in Israeli prison. And has been in prison since the age of 13.
On October 12th 2015, Ahmed and his cousin Hassan were walking the streets of East Jerusalem when they were attacked by an Israeli mob.
This mob accused them of stabbing 2 of them and immediately shot and killed Hassan. And brutally beat up Ahmed, and running him over with a car.
Fracturing part of his skull.
There is a viral video of this mob yelling at Ahmed, taunting him, telling him to die as he is lying on the ground bleeding, pleading for help.
The Israeli occupational forces then brutally interrogated him without an attorney or parent present.
There is a video out there of his interrogation where these Israeli soilders are screaming at this child.
At the time it was illegal for children to be in prison, so the courts waited until his 14th birthday. He has been in and out of solitary confinement for years.
Which directly goes against international law.
(Excerpt from the United Nations reads: The Mandela Rules, updated in 2015, are a revised minimum standard of UN rules that defines solitary confinement as 'the condiment of prisoners for 22 hours or more a day without any meaningful human contact.'
Solitary confinement may only be imposed in exceptional circumstances, and "prolonged" solitary confinement of more than 15 consecutive days is regarded as a form of torture.)
He has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and severe depression with suicidal thoughts, due to the solitary confinement and the human rights abuses that the Israeli occupation have done to him.
Even though, the Israeli courts found out that he was not involved with the stabbings, he is still serving a 9 and a half year sentence for "attempted murder."
(Excerpt from AP news reads: The teenagers are typically held in 1 by 1.5-meter (3 by 5 foot) cell flooded with endless light, the group said.
Their only human contact is with interrogators. They return to their families deeply scarred, said Ayed Abu Eqtaish, the groups accountability program director.)
I saw a report saying that teenagers are usually held in cells that are 3 and a half by 5 feet.
Ahmed is locked in his cell for 23 hours a day. He is being kept in the Ramla prison. He is continually been denied family visits, medical care and a push for his early release.
He has been tortured endlessly since the age of 13 by the Israeli occupation forces.
There has been an international push for his release (image reads: GENEVA '14th July 2022- UN human rights experts today urged the Government of Israel to immediately release Ahmed Manasra, 20 year old Palestinian detailed in Israeli prisons since he was 13 years old. While suffering serious mental health conditions.)
Yet at the age of 21, Ahmed still remains in Israeli prison.
This push largely follows the fact that he is not being treated for his medical conditions, that the Israeli occupation forces caused him.
Israel took away Ahmed's childhood at age 13, we need to push for his immediate release.
Ahmed not only deserves to be at home with his family, but deserves justice for what happened to him.
End Transcript]
And who knows how many Ahmed's are unjustly abd illegally locked up and tortured in these prisons.
Because the majority of Palestinians in there, are children or were arrested as children.
With no reason to be there, admitted by Israel themselves.

What happens to israelis if israel doesn't exist? Well no one asks what's going to happen to palestinians if israel continues to exist and presently it fucking sucks that no aspect of palestinian life is free from israeli control. And idk it sucks to have this military machine posing as a democratic state that sustains itself by mass killing and imprisoning palestinians and on top of it we lose land and whole communities are told to uproot themselves for a "firing range." Whats happening to masafer yatta alone, the torture and imprisonment of Ahmed Manasra alone is enough to call for the abolishment of the israeli state. If you don't feel that way, then you do not prioritize indigenous liberation in your politics. Dismantle the zionist state brick by brick

I wrote about Ahmed Manasra only a short while ago here, only to find out today that the IOF has no intention of releasing him during any hostage exchanges because he is no 'longer a child,' to paraphrase. This was the original post and I have an update below (tw: torture).
Tumblr media
Another young man who was released recently had shared a room with Ahmed and revealed incredibly disturbing details about how Ahmed and may others like him are treated while imprisoned with serious medical conditions (while we know how evil and violent the IOF are, this continues to be beyond acts of cruelty -it is torture and inhumane) -the way imprisoned Palestinian people are continually kept in this horrendous state further proves that they want them to perish, and it sickens me. I have attached the interview below:
I have also transcribed the English subtitles that were available on this video [12/01/23]: Ahmad Manasra. He was in my room. They tortured him, beat him, yelled at him, gave him medicine. The situation is very difficult. Interviewer: Do you have details or information about Ahmad Manasra? No, he didn't die. But they tortured him a lot. Interviewer: How? They tortured him a lot. He was in my room. Interviewer: Did you see this with your own eyes? Yes, I saw this with my own eyes. Interviewer: What happened to him? He used to call the doctor. The doctor didn't answer. This is a problem for all prisoners. Someone like Ahmad Manasra needs to see the doctor. There is no answer. The medicine was delivered late. After a long time. Ahmad Manasra was in a very difficult situation. God bless him. Interviewer: Why was Ahmad Manasra targeted in this way? He wasn't Ahmad Manasra (I believe he was referring to his physically state here? And that he's not the only one, as he articulates next). No, he was in a very difficult situation. We saw this with all the prisoners. God bless him
Ahmed's story is one of the many Palestinian CHILDREN captured, detained, and imprisoned by the IOF.
About Ahmed -when he first entered the criminal court at the age of 12 he couldn't recall why he was being charged because the IOF had beat him so badly -and he also watched his cousin being murdered by the IOF. It was reported that his eyesight has gotten extremely worse over time while in solitary confinement.
We are not free until we all are -and I hope, I continue to hope for Ahmed's release so he can go home to his loved one's. I hope more international pressure brings the thousands of Palestinians home. This is just beyond ENOUGH.
End the violent occupation and free Palestine!

“After two years of solitary confinement, prisoner Ahmed Manasra was transferred to join his fellow prisoners.
Ahmed suffered from torture, abuse, and isolation, as well as loss of vision (due to lack of sunlight) and mental illness due to his solitary confinement. He has been held captive for 8 years after he was abducted at 13 years old in 2015.
The zionist prison administration also provided him with contaminated food and prevented his family from sending him money to buy food from the cantina.
Ahmed's solitary confinement was set to end 6 months ago in September, and he has served 8.5 years of his 9.5 year sentence, with the last two in solitary confinement.”
- Resistance News Network
January 2022 article depicts testimonies of life in solitary confinement in Israeli prisons
“The cell was so small that I could not stretch my legs to sleep. I was given a small rag to sleep on and I had to bend my legs to fit in the small space … During this time I was beaten and the person who beat me told me he would stop beating me only if I confessed.”
“I felt so terrible that I wanted to kill myself. I broke a plastic fork they brought with the food and I cut my wrist and made more cuts along the inside of my arm until my elbow.”
“On my 7th day in solitary confinement I lost my mind completely and was in despair. I felt I could do anything; like attack the guard. I started to bang my head against the rough walls until I bled. When the guard found out he called in some soldiers and they took me to the clinic. The doctor treated my wound and then I was handcuffed and shackled and taken to a room where I was tied to a chair for about three hours as punishment for hurting myself.”

I Tell The Tale Of Palestine
To hold on to my sanity, I tell the Tale of Palestine
To counter the overwhelming shame of membership in humanity I tell the Tale of Palestine
To attempt to have some closure after Sabra/Shatila I tell the tale of Palestine
To lower the voices of the children murdered I tell the Tale of Palestine
To express my outrage over the murder of Shireen Abu Akleh I tell the tale of Palestine
To ensure memory eternal for the Dawabshe Family I tell the tale of Palestine
To express the horror of what happened to Rachel Corrie I tell the tale of Palestine
To prevent the onset of depression, despondency, and immobilization about the decades-long repression/oppression I tell the tale of Palestine
To attempt to deal with the appalling apathy of the entire world I tell the tale of Palestine
To counter the despicable lies of Zionist Israel about my brothers and sisters in Falastin I tell the tale of Palestine
To attempt to silence the screams of the tortured political prisoners I tell the tale of Palestine
To block out the visions of children brutalized and kidnapped from their beds I tell the tale of Palestine
To counter the rage regarding the treatment of Ahmed Manasra I tell the tale of Palestine
For forty years and counting I tell the tale of Palestine
To save the soul of humanity I tell the tale of Palestine
To prevent exploding from the knowledge that my government is completely complicit in Israel’s horrendous deeds I tell the tale of Palestine
To raise public awareness of the persecution of Christians and Muslims in the Holy land I tell the tale of Palestine
To bring hope and faith to my entire being I tell the tale of Palestine
And finally, because Palestine is in my very heart and soul I tell the tale of Palestine

Isreal is the only country in world which prosecuted children in military courts.
Ahmad Manasra has been detained in Isreali military prison since the age of 13, and subjected to a psychologicaly torturing investigation (TW: the video shows an officer continuously yelling at Ahmed to make him confess while Ahemd is visibly terrified, he is begging that he can't remember and hitting himself over the head.)
This photo was taken today in the retrial (no updates till now,)
Tumblr media
Ahmad has grown in prison, he is suffering from severe mental health issues, his childhood was stolen by this apartheid inhumane occupation.
