Bad First Impression, Lynn Angel x Reader (Gender-Neutral)
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1,706 Summary: Your first time meeting Lynn doesn’t go very smoothly.
Read it on AO3 too
When you first met him, you thought he had a stick up his ass.
You had been friends with Niel and Ira for a while. You’d met online while playing a video game together. After a while, the three of you started hanging out irl. Turns out you had a lot in common with them. You loved animals like Nini and would visit the shop he worked at. You’d play video games with them online. You even guest starred in one of Ira’s streams. Soon enough, the three of you were attached at the hip. One day, as the three of you wandered between shops, an idea came to mind.
“You should come over to our flat sometime”, said Ira in between slurps of his blood boba.
“Sure! I’d love to.”
The next time the three of you met, you did exactly that.
“Wooow your apartment’s so big!”
“Let us give you the grand tour”, said Nini excitedly.
First stop was Nini’s room. With a nostalgic smile on his face and his hands on his hips, Ira told you about how he gave it a “hell makeover” for him when he first moved in. Nini’s face scrunches up at the memory.
After that, the three of you go room by room. You meet Damao and Abu. They both introduce themselves and chat with you for a bit, just basic small talk. The three of you head downstairs to the living room afterwards. It was video game time. You spend a few hours playing game after game, mario kart, street fighter, you name it. Time flew and it had been hours. You hadn’t even realized it was so late until the front door opened.
Low and behold, there he was. Blonde hair, big white wings, sweatervest, suitcase in hand, and a scrunched up face. Niel and you both turned to face him while Ira kept his eyes on the TV screen, both of his feet propped up on the coffee table.
“Oh, hi Mr. Lynn. Y/N this is Mr. Lynn. He’s our roommate and superintendent”, Niel said.
“Nice to meet you-”
“No guests after midnight. You should leave. Ira, take your feet off of the coffee table.”, Lynn said coldly, cutting you off before you could finish greeting him.
“This place is a mess”, he mutters under his breath, loud enough for the three of you to hear.
Ira slowly took his feet off of the table with a wide-eyed look.
“Is it already that late? Sorry, Mr. Lynn!”, Niel sheepishly replied. “Oh, I didn’t know that was a rule”, you said.
“It is. Please clean up the mess you made and leave”, Lynn’s stern voice hits your ears. He walks into his room and closed the door before you could say anything else.
“Sorry about that, Y/N. Mr. Lynn can be pretty strict about the flat rules”.
“Yeah, he’s not the nicest person when we break them”, Ira says as he puts his feet back up on the coffee table, but not before sparing a glance towards Lynn’s room.
“It’s fine. It’s late and I should get going anyway. Thanks for inviting me over”, you say as you gather your things and clean up the bags of snacks scattered all over the table. You couldn’t deny you were a bit annoyed by the way Lynn had told you to leave so rudely. Niel grabs the the empty drink containers and throws them into the trash can.
“Sorry for keeping you so late. You’re welcome over any time”, Niel says nervously as he walks you to the front door.
“Yeah, mate, come over soon so I can kick your ass in smash bros again”, Ira gives a lazy wave from his spot on the couch.
You say your goodbyes and head home.
You felt awkward coming over again after that encounter. Niel and Ira told you that Lynn was usually busy and out of the apartment, but still. Niel insisted that Lynn really wasn’t that bad and that you should give him a chance. The next few times you hang out with Niel and Ira it’s at your apartment or places around town. Discord chats consisting of
“Hey, Y/N, wanna come over and play smash?” “I was actually gonna do some shopping downtown. Wanna join me?” “Sure”
“Yeah”
And
“VR at our place??” “Sure, but how about we grab a bite to eat first?”.
Those “quick bite to eat”s would turn into chatting in a ramen shop for hours until it was too late to come over. You didn’t always do it on purpose! You swore it was a coincidence, but a part of you was glad.
Eventually, your excuses would run out, like today.
“Y/N!! Come over and have dinner with us! We’re having hot pot :3”
You read the text chat and mull it over for a minute. Damn you, love of hot pot! You folded, like a chair.
“Sure what time” Niel gives you the details and you come over. You’re not even halfway through the front door when the smell hits you. It’s heavenly. Maybe because Lynn threw in some special angel seasoning.
“Hey, guys! Woah, food smells great”.
“Y/N! Thanks for coming!”, Niel smiles as he gives you a hug.
“Hey, Y/N. Glad you could make it”, Ira gives you a side hug once Niel’s done with his.
You take off your shoes and follow them into the dining room. The table is covered with plates of food with a huge hot pot in the center. The characters around the table are just as colorful, with some you haven’t met yet. You greet Abu and Damao.
“You must be Y/N! Nice to meet you! I’m Lily. I like your outfit!”, a young blonde-haired angel enthusiastically shakes your hand.
“Nice to meet you too. Thank you”, you reply nervously, not having expected the compliment.
“Lily is my sister. It occurred to me that I never properly introduced myself. I apologize. I’m Lynn. It’s nice to meet you.”, Lynn awkwardly sticks out his hand for you to shake. It seems like he felt a bit guilty for scolding you last time.
“No worries. It’s nice to meet you too”, you say with a smile as you shake his hand.
It’s not exactly an apology, but hey, you’ll take what you can get. You did still break the rules after all (even thought you didn’t know about them beforehand). He seems to relax at this and cracks a small smile. That is, until he hears a familiar voice.
“Oh my god. Where have they been hiding you?”, a thick Australian accent hits your ears, but the voice is too deep to be Niel’s. An arm slings around your shoulder. Looking up, you see a demon with dark hair and red horns smiling at you.
“You’re gorgeous. My name’s Nick, but you can call me any time”, he says with a wink.
“Oh, uh, hi”.
“Nick, you weren’t invited. What are you doing here?”, Lynn calls out irritated.
“Lynn! I’m offended!” “Then you should leave”
“I’ll forgive you if the apology is food”
“You’re not having dinner with us. I only made enough for- hey!” Nick pulls Lynn into a tight side hug, “Don’t worry about cooking more for me. I’ll survive”.
Lynn is getting more irriated by the second as Nick squishes him.
“Go away, Nick”, Niel chimes in.
You look at him surprised. You’ve never seen Neil so annoyed before. He has such a gloomy aura about him…scary.
Nick gasps dramatically, “Et tu, Neil? So much for family love!”.
“You guys are family?”, you question.
“No”, Neil instantly replies.
“Neil hasn’t told you about me? I’m his older brother.”, Nick ignores his comment.
“Half-brother”, you hear Neil mutter.
“I’m a very loving and nurturing figure in his life. I’m a provider. I provide.”, he smiles at you. The message is clear, “I can provide FOR YOU. You can swoon now.”. You’ve clearly bewitched him with your awkward, slouched figure. That or he’s a playboy. You’ll go with option B.
“Oh, that’s very… nice of you”, you say slowly.
“Except he’s lying”, Neil spits out hatefully as he crosses his arms.  “We should grab another chair for Nick!”, Lily’s cheery voice cuts through the tension, like a butter knife.
Before anyone can stop him, Damao goes into the living room and returns with a chair that doesn’t match any of the others at the table. Whether he was as naive as Lily or if he just wanted the arguing to be over is anyone’s guess.
Everyone takes a seat. Lynn, Lily, and Neil sit next to each other on one side of the table. Neil looks ecstatic about sitting next to Lily but Lynn looks like he wants to decapitate him. It doesn’t help that across from him is Nick. Who, of course, chose to sit next to you. Damao also sits next to you. Abu and Ira sit at either end of the table. Lynn tosses some meat and vegetables to cook into the hot pot. Lily starts chatting happily about school and others start to chime into the conversation.
“How about you?”, Lily asks her older brother.
“Good. My professor said that my thesis has a good foundation but needs more research”, Lynn responds.
“Are you a grad student, Lynn?”, you question.
“Yes, I’m getting my phD in anthropology”.
“That’s great! I’m considering going to grad school too. What do you think of it so far?” “It’s hard work, but rewarding. This isn’t my first time attending a grad school.” “Oh?” “Yes, I have 107 phDs”
“What! 107? That’s insane! That’s so cool!”, you praise him.
His cheeks turn red at the compliment, “Ah, it’s really no big deal”.
“No big deal? One phD is crazy hard, but 107! That’s a huge deal”, you continue.
He’s cracked a rather large smile and is blushing harder than he has in years. Hearing you praise him makes him happy. It doesn’t help that he thinks you’re attractive, not that he would admit that.
“Would you like more broth, Y/N?”, he offers.
“Yes, please”, you hand him your bowl.
Maybe the two of you can get along after all.

"bartender" - dallas winston
request: Hi! I love your work and was wondering if you could do one for Dally from the outsiders where he's helping bartend for Buck to earn a couple bucks and Curtis!Reader is just sitting at the bar teasing him about it.
pairing: dallas winston x curtis!reader
word count: 618
a/n: i can't tell if i'm writing dally too ooc, but i was aiming more for shithead vibes than meanie vibes
Tumblr media
Dally was too aware of Y/N Curtis sitting all by her lonesome at the end of the bar. She was wearing a nice dress and more makeup than usual, but Dallas hadn’t seen her speak to anyone since arriving. She looked good—a fact that Dally would never admit out loud.
“Ain’t it past your bedtime?” He asked, sitting a fresh beer in front of her. The bottle she ordered at the beginning of the night had been long finished, the label picked clean and laying in a little pile on the bar.
“Aren’t you the one always telling me ‘sleep is for the weak’?” She smirked at him, taking a long drink from the bottle, “Just taking a page out of your book.”
He leaned against the bar, “Your brothers know you’re here?”
“What they don’t know won’t kill them,” she rolled her eyes, “I deserve to have a little fun too.”
“Being all depressing by yourself isn’t exactly what I’d call fun.”
Y/N glared at him as he moved to take another patron’s order. After a few short minutes, he returned to his spot across from her and gave her an expectant look.
They stared each other down for a few seconds before Y/N rolled her eyes at him, looking away.
Dallas opened his mouth to tell her to either stop being a sad sack or go home when she cut him off, still not meeting his gaze.
“I was supposed to meet up with Scott Davis, but he never showed.”
“Davis? That guy’s a fuckin bum!”
She finally looked up at him, anger flaring behind her eyes, “Well it’s not like I wanna marry him or anything! You’re not exactly fit to be lecturing me on who to hang out with.”
“Oh, I think I’m perfectly fit, dollface.”
She rolled away the anger in her eyes and sent him a teasing smile, “I guess it takes a bum to know one.”
He glared at her, but only half heartedly, flicking a small piece of ice at her forehead.
“Yup—that right there. Bum behavior.”
“I guess it takes a bum to know one,” he mocked her, “at least I have a job.”
“Not sure if you’re gonna make six figures by over-serving people and being mean to lonely girls at the bar.” Y/N finished her drink and slid the empty bottle across the bar.
Dallas continued glaring, “Y’know, you’re a mean drunk, lady.”
Y/N laughed, and Dallas couldn’t help the smirk pulling at his lips.
“Two beers is hardly enough to be drunk.”
“Alright, then. You’re just mean,” Dallas popped the cap off another beer and sat it in front of Y/N. “Gonna start correcting people when they go on about how ‘Y/N Curtis is just such a nice girl’”, he shook his head, “if only they knew.”
Y/N scoffed, “I don’t think anyone’s ever said that.”
“Yeah, right, with your whole ‘Saint Curtis’ act—helpin’ old ladies cross the street and tutoring dumbass kids.”
“Devil in disguise I guess,” the pair smirked at each other, holding the gaze for much longer than they should have.
Y/N cleared her throat, looking around the bar, “Shouldn’t you be doing your job?”
He took the bottle from her grasp before finishing it off in one last swig, “Shouldn’t you be going home?”
She scoffed and started collecting her things, standing up from the bar stool. “That towel,” she pointed to the dish rag tossed over his shoulder, “makes you look stupid, by the way.”
Dally removed the towel to swat at her, “Go home, stupid.”
Y/N moved toward the door, sending Dally one last smile, “Go back to work, bum.”

The family never suspected something to be wrong with the youngest of the tribe. After all, he had been lucky enough not to know the ugly truth of war nor the physical and emotional torment of hunger or poverty. If anything, Finn had grown up under Polly’s loving wing. Even if he was accustomed with gangs violence, he never truly took part of it before his brothers deemed him old enough. Arthur, Tommy and John worked hard so that he would never had to take a bullet like they did. They wanted him to be a general, not a disposable and vulnerable soldier. When he started to hang out with the pastor’s daughter, his Aunt was delighted. All of Birmingham knew how kind and quiet Y/N was. Holy Saint among the sinners, the young woman often wandered in the gritty streets of Small Heath with a basket filled with food she usually distributed to the poorest souls. Y/N left a bright sunshine in her wake, all the darkness of the place caught in her long coal black hair. Rumors said that when she smiled, even the most wicked men couldn’t lay a finger on her, all blissed out by her beauty and her divine aura of peacefulness. The bruises on her delicate skin? She was just incredibly clumsy. That was what her father always told her! And when she wasn’t bumping or tripping, the heavy basket she carried marked the flesh of her forearms.
But when the night came and the devils danced under the pale moonlight, she disappeared through her window and ran away from home, swallowed by the dull forest nearby. Y/N hid in an old vargo that belonged to the Shelby family, guided by the weak string lights hanging at the door, and she impatiently waited for Finn Shelby to appear in the doorway with a bottle of whisky in one hand, and a red rose in the other. Then their sordid and obscene ritual started, always following the same order: He slipped the flower in her hair, its crimson and velvety petals enhancing her beauty and suiting the color of the lipstick she had stolen from her mother. Then, they made the temperature rise, hands roaming on flesh clothes flying across the vardo. Only when the bottle of whisky was empty and their arousal reaching its limits, he assaulted her tight cunt with violent and rapid thrusts. A glistening and fragile pussy that only knew his cock. No one else’s. The way her warmth and wetness wrapped him sent his soul to heaven, making his lashes flutter. He was supposed to be a nice boy. She was supposed to be a holy and virginal girl.
So why? Why were they fucking like animals each night in the woods, filling the air with moans, flesh snapping sound and sweat? Why did he bend her over and spank her with his suit’s belt — and why did she enjoy it, her love juice trailing down her thighs more and more at each new beating? Finn grunted in her mouth when he came, painting her walls white and keeping her full til the morning. That was how Y/N liked him: engraved in her flesh, and dripping from her sore holes.
“Tsss, be more careful Y/N. You’re black and blue.” Her father scolded her, eyes rolling with annoyance at his daughter’s carelessness that revealed itself through her purplish bruises on her legs, thighs and neck. Little he knew that all her skin had been painted blue, immaculate flesh turned into a masterpiece by the brush of a mad artist. Y/N was both the canva and the muse, letting Finn Shelby turned her into what their love had always been: nothing gentle but the embodiment of Sin.

Sirius Black x fem!reader ♡ 302 words
When Sirius joins all of you in the living room, you whistle like the sort of man you’d want to hit if you heard him on the street.
Sirius grins, posing for you as you whoop and applaud. James laughs and Remus rolls his eyes good-naturedly.
“Looking good,” you say appreciatively. “That silver eye glitter really suits you, honey.”
“Thanks, gorgeous.” He sits down beside you, turning your face towards his for a kiss.
“He did this on purpose,” James says to Remus. “He waited to finish getting ready until we were here and forced her to make a big deal out of the reveal.”
Remus nods. “Definitely.”
You scoff, but James sets a warm hand on your shoulder, looking at you sympathetically. “Y/N, what did he promise you? How many times did he make you practice, you poor thing?”
Sirius reaches around you to take James’ hand between his middle finger and thumb, lifting it from you like it’s trash he found on the street. “I’ll have you know,” he says, dropping it in James’ lap, “that she does this whether you’re here or not.” He lounges back against the couch cushions, sliding an arm around your shoulders. “Last night, she did the same thing when I was in my pajamas.”
You shrug. “It was boxers and a t-shirt. I’m not a saint.”
James guffaws, and Remus gives a little chuckle, shaking his head at you.
“I know you mean well,” he says, “but you’re going to inflate his ego until he floats off and none of us can get him to come back to earth.”
“He deserves it,” you say, turning to kiss his cheek.
Sirius smirks, thumb moving over your shoulder in nice, languid strokes. “Yeah, you pricks. I deserve it.”
James blows out a breath. “We’re doomed.”

You don't wanna dance?
vampire hunter!Lando Norris x vampire!fem!reader au!
Tumblr media
Warnings: mentions of drugs and killing but it's just a mention!
English is not my first language so feel free to point out any mistakes or errors! Also picture is not mine! Credit goes to the owner! Request are open!
More posts here! I'm gonna make it a little series.
Words: over 2k.
---
For the last couple of centuries, I spent my importantly traveling and hiding from vampire hunters. They almost killed all mine kind and because of that, vampires have become mere legends and myths.
A lot of them died, but others learned how to survive. Most of young vampires stayed in groups with others, more older vampires. Who protect them.
And in the heart of the loud city, where cobblestone streets echoed with human laughter, stood a lone figure cloaked in shadows. It was Lando.
Lando is a renowned vampire hunter, prowling the night with purpose, his senses honed to detect even the faintest trace of the undead. He always knew what he had to do. What is his purpose in this world. And mostly, he knew where to look for his prey.
They always hide in places like this, with loud music and a lot of people that spend all their money on doubtful drugs that get them killed.
Places like night clubs and bars are no stranger to Lando, and if he wasn't tangled up in this kind of job, he would have joined everyone there and enjoyed his young life with pretty women and one night stands.
"It's always clubs, never the quiet, relaxing places." Lando sighed and stepped inside. Saint and Sinners, an amazing name for a club. The air was a lot heavier and smoke from cigarettes could be smelled. A perfect place for vampires.
Amidst the pulsating rhythm of the club, neon lights danced and shadows whispered secrets in dark corners, the vampires were here, he was sure of it. Lando stood like a solitary sentinel, his gaze sweeping the crowded dance floor with practiced vigilance.
He's from a family full of vampire hunters and as a seasoned vampire hunter, he was no stranger to the dark allure of the night, but this night would test his resolve in ways he could never have imagined.
Across the smoky haze of the dimly lit room, his eyes locked on one woman whose back was towards him. Her hair was moving around as she danced carelessly. But then it was like something had stopped her.
As she turned around and her eyes locked with his, it was like when time stops. Who is she? What a girl like her is doing here? Surely she wasn't here for some drugs, she isn't this type of girl. And when you live long enough, you start to recognise the same people in different bodies but with the same intrigues.
She knew who he was the moment she saw him, only a fool wouldn't know who he is, but she wanted to know what he was doing here. She decided to move towards him with an ethereal grace, her every step a was grace and allure that she knew that drew him in like a moth to flame.
That woman is Y/n, a vampire whose beauty defies description, her eyes like pools of liquid moonlight that held him captive with their magnetic gaze. Despite the danger she posed, Lando found himself unable to tear his gaze away, his heart pounding in his chest with a mixture of fear and fascination.
As the music pulsed through the air like a heartbeat, Lando felt the pull that drew him ever closer to her, like two stars destined to collide in the vast expanse of the night sky. With each passing moment, the distance between them narrowed until they stood mere inches apart, the air thick with anticipation.
"Who are you?" Lando's voice was barely a whisper, lost amidst the cacophony of the club around them.
Y/n's lips curled into a seductive smile, her voice a melody that sent shivers down his spine.
"I could ask you the same thing, handsome stranger." She replied, her tone playful yet tinged with a hint of danger. "But I think we both know the answer to that."
Lando felt a surge of heat rush through him at her proximity, his senses overwhelmed by the heady scent of her icy perfume and the electricity that crackled between them.
"What do you want?" he asked, his voice tinged with a mixture of curiosity and caution.
Y/n's smile widened, her gaze never wavering from his. "What do you think I want?" she teased, her words laced with a hint of danger.
She stepped closer to him and said "Isn't it obvious? I wanna dance." She whispered in his left ear and wrapped her arms around his neck. Inhaling his scent that filled her lungs, she felt as he put his hands on her hips.
His cold rings burned against her soft, yet cold skin, but his hands were so much warmer. She knew that she will lose control, but he smelled so godamn good.
"Dance? Is that what you want?" He thought that was a strange request, so he couldn't help but ask.
"Yeah, you're at the night club and you don't want to dance?" She started to pull away, but he was quick to take her back in.
"No, no, I just…I don't know you, you know? How could I trust you?" He still wasn't sure if she was a vampire, but vampires are known for how they can manipulate you into things you would even dream about. And he felt like she could be one of them.
"Hmm…you're right, we don't know each other so well," she spoke "and you're right, you can't trust nobody" and completely pulled away from him and stepped back, so he couldn't grab her like last time.
"Maybe it's better if it's stay like that." She answered somehow coldly, she wanted to vanish into a crowd of dancing bodies when she felt his hand grasp her wrist.
Turning to look at him, she was about to say something, but he beamed her with "I didn't mean it like that, I'm sorry." He felt the cold skin in his hand and decided if his theory of her being that mystical creature was true.
Y/n wasn't stupid. She knew he was a very dangerous man and that she shouldn't be playing around with him, but because she knew who he really was, she thought it could be fun to mess with him a little and play along with her being just a tipsy little girl that has a little drunk crush on him.
"It's alright. Let's just dance, yeah?" She asked and he just nodded with a smile on his face. She tugged him more into the dance floor and gosh, he was beautiful, with his green eyes that had sparks in them, his curly hair that was so soft to touch and with that gorgeous smile, he was just amazing.
"So" She started, breaking their silence.
"So?"
"So, what's a guy like you doing in a place like this?" Curious little thing she is. Always needs to know all the answers. And you know what they say, curiosity killed a cat. But, well, she was already dead, so she couldn't care less though.
"I could have asked you the same thing?" He wasn't going to tell her that he's here because of her kind. That he's going to kill her if she is something that he thinks she is, no, he knows it.
"Yeah, but I asked first."
"I'm looking for someone." He stated after a few seconds. His green eyes looked around the club and then back to her.
"For who?"
"I don't know yet," he started "but I think it could be you." He wasn't so smooth about it at all and took her back in his hold.
She knew what he meant by it and he knew it was her that he was looking for, but she just smiled at him and pulled him closer by the collar of his white shirt that had a few open buttons down.
"Yeah? And how do you know it's me you are looking for?" She chuckled, maybe because she knew he couldn't do anything to hurt her. There was too many people and other vampires that were watching them in dark corners and if he even tried something, she could end him by just snapping fingers. That's how powerful she really is.
He didn't say anything, he just looked at her and as they danced together in the dimly lit room, Lando found himself drawn deeper into this woman's web of temptation, his every instinct screaming at him to flee, even as his heart urged him to stay.
"You know I can't stay here" he whispered, "stay here with you." His voice barely audible above the din of the club. It was something about her that just took him in and he knew he had to leave or else things could get bad.
Y/n's eyes softened, a flicker of vulnerability passing across her features, strange. "I know," she replied, her voice barely a whisper. "But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the moment while it lasts."
He was mesmerized by her. She wasn't just an ordinary vampire, no, he was pretty sure that she is one of the vampires that lives so long because they live in clans, with other, more older and wiser vampires.
This could be his chance.
His chance to get closer to her and her vampire family. To kill them. To kill all the remaining vampires like he promised to do, because that's his job. His purpose.
But each of them, was playing their own dangerous game.
"I'm Lando, by the way." He introduced himself with his British accent. "Lando Norris."
As Lando extended his hand towards her, Y/n's eyes sparkled with mischief, a playful smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She knew the game he was playing.
"It's nice to meet you Lando," she answered "but unfortunately for you, I already know your name." Her smile was getting bigger and that sweet playfulness was now becoming a little less and less funny.
That made him stop. She knew him? How does she know him? They had never met before, did they? Confusion could be seen on his pretty face and she loved every second of it. She lives for it.
"You really think I'm this stupid?" She said as laughter left her mouth. The music swelled around them and Lando leaned in closer to that pale woman, his voice a low murmur against her ear.
"How? How do you know my name then?"
"I had hanky-panky with your father too," she pointed out back in his left ear, "and with your grandfather as well and so on...you are all very similar.”
Lando said nothing. He just stood there like a fool. Who was this woman? Was she really this old vampire that knew his family members better than he did himself?
"Your family is notorious for hunting my kind Lando. You really think I wouldn't know you? Or your family?" She teased, her voice a soft melody that sent shivers down his spine.
And he knew that he should be afraid. He was in the lair of vampires. He had every right to be afraid. But then again, he needed to know her. Her true identity and what she is capable of, if she is a threat.
"You won't tell me your name?"
"I don't know," she admitted, "I haven't decided." Y/n liked to play hard to get. It was in her nature.
“You want to know my name hunter?” she felt his hands tighten on her hips and how he started to rub his thumbs up and down.
“Yes, of course I do.” What was he doing? He should have left and not be asking for her name. And definitely not holding her close to him.
“It's Y/n”
It's Simple, but effective. He liked that name, he liked her. She had this something inside of her, that he hasn't seen in everyone else. Something special.
As the music continued to pulse through the club and the crowd swirled around them, Y/n suddenly pulled away from Lando's soft grasp, leaving him standing alone on the dance floor, bewildered and disoriented.
"Well...I guess i will see you around, Lando"
For a moment, Lando stood frozen in place, his heart pounding in his chest as he watched that strange vampire woman disappear into the sea of dancing bodies.
He felt a surge of panic rising within him, a sense of vulnerability he hadn't felt in years. "Wait!" he called out, his voice lost in the loud music of the club around him.
But she was gone, vanished into the dark club without a trace, leaving Lando to wonder if their encounter had been nothing more than a figment of his imagination. No, no, she was real. She has to be real, she knew his family, she knew him.
As he stood there, alone in the dimly lit club, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at him from within. He had been so sure of himself, so confident in his abilities as a hunter, but now he felt lost and adrift in a world he no longer recognized.
With a heavy heart, Lando turned and made his way towards the exit, the sounds of the club fading into the background as he stepped out into the cool night air. He felt like he could finally breathe again.
As he disappeared into the darkness, he couldn't help but wonder, if he would ever see that woman again, or if she had been nothing more than a fleeting illusion in the night.

Something he wants
Tumblr media
kaz brekker x fem!reader word count: 2k CW: a bit of unpleasant touching, but nothing further than that
If one peered carefully into the dark, they would see a pair of young adults walking down the cobblestone street. One of them – a man – limping and clicking his cane. The other one – a woman – with long hair and a magnificent dress, its colors conveying the moonlight. And they were arguing.
“I said no,” the man’s voice was hoarse, loud enough for his companion’s ears but quiet enough so that no one else could hear. “Your complaining won’t help change my mind.”
“You’re unbearable, Brekker,” she remarked, crossing her arms on her chest. The gown had puffy, tulle sleeves. The pattern of roses with thorns was woven into the fabric, cleverly covering her crow tattoo. “I told you I would go no matter what you’d say, so here I am. And you know we have a better chance of obtaining information using me as bait.” She let her arms loose, playing with the cuffs of her dress. It was cold in Ketterdam and her dress had a wide opening that showed her entire back.
“I don’t care,” Kaz rolled his eyes. The crow on his cane blinked mischievously, sending shivers down the woman’s spine.
“Kaz, no offense, but you’re as pretty as Pim’s rear,” she looked into his eyes. Obviously she lied. However, she would never admit that to anyone. “I am your best shot at getting whatever you need. And it will be a lot easier than breaking into his house.”
“You’re a stubborn thing, aren’t you?” he sent a smirk her way. Only later that night will he realize that a bit of red on her cheeks wasn’t from the freezing temperatures, but from the way he looked at her. And did he look at her, all right. Kaz didn’t pay attention to anything unless it looked like a stack of kruge on his desk. But when she had entered the Crow Club, demanding an audience with him, he had been stunned to say at least. Her hair had flown when she’d darted past Jesper, straight into Kaz’s cane.
“Pardon?” she’d asked, eyeing the crow on his walking stick. “Are you Kaz Brekker? If not, get out of my way”
“Saints,” Jesper had whispered behind her, his palms loosely on his revolvers.
“Why are you seeking him?” Brekker had said casually, the cane still in between the fierce creature and the staircase.
“Unless you’re Brekker, I won’t be speaking with you,” she had crossed her arms on her chest, eyeing Kaz. “But you are him, aren’t you? The cane, the gloves, Nina said you’d be unusual.”
“Un–” Jesper had started, but one look from the Dirtyhands had made him stop. “I’ll go guard the door”
“Good idea,” Kaz had finally let his cane drop, leaning his body on it. His eyes focused on the woman. “What do you want?”
“I need your help,” she breathed. He’d only raised his eyebrows. “I need you to kill my father.”
Since then, they had been working together. Y/n with her striking beauty would seduce merchants, when Kaz was robbing their pockets. In more or less legal ways – depending on their mood. Not a single soul was aware that Brekker had such a compelling ace up his sleeve.
“Kaz, please,” she whispered, her dress swooshing on the wind. “I dressed up, you can’t let my efforts go to waste.”
Brekker rolled his eyes, but he must have admitted that the dress, in fact, looked magnificent on the woman. The color lit up her eyes and the brocade corset was making her skin glow. Yet, he didn’t speak another word, pointing his cane in the direction of the perpendicular street. Y/n tilted her head. “Which house?”
“The one with the green door.”
“Give me twenty minutes,” she nodded her head in acknowledgment. “No mourners.”
“No funerals,” Kaz replied.
Y/n went down the street. The lamps were dimmed, not giving much light, yet she could see the path clearly. When she was younger, she would wander around this district, dreaming about being an important persona herself. She would pretend that she was a grisha. One day she would be an Inferni and the other she’d be a Heartrender. She would have to be careful so as not to get caught by stadwatch or worse – her father. He despised grisha, the littlest mention about their kind got his blood boiling. He would murder them. And he would make her watch.
When she got close to the door, she took a breath in. Her body tensed and her heart beating so fast, she could swear people down the street were able to hear it. She knocked, once, twice. No one answered at first, but a moment later she noticed a loud noise of someone making their way to the door.
“Who’s there?!” a man’s voice echoed from behind the entrance.
“Please, I need your help,” she strived to make her voice sound as desperate as she could. She forced her palms to tremble and she bit her lower lip. She promised twenty minutes and she needed to be a bit faster than that. “I-i got lost,” she stammered.
The door opened with a wide swing, the man’s face was wrinkled and he didn’t look as pleasant as she remembered from the photo. When his eyes laid on her body, she knew exactly when he thought about taking advantage of her. She knew what he saw. A broken girl, who looked like a doll, with her big, princess-looking dress, smeared make-up and a trembling lip. She couldn’t look longer than a few seconds at him, which he also took notice of. She was nothing but a broken piece to him. And she made him believe in whatever he wanted.
He helped her get up and while still touching her arms, he led her to the office or a living room, she didn’t know. His breath reeked of whatever alcohol he was drinking prior to her interruption. She wanted to grimace but kept her face straight, Kaz trusted her to get this work done and she didn’t plan on doing otherwise.
“So, darling, what are you doing in this neighborhood?” He forced her to sit in one of the armchairs standing opposite to the big, oak desk. “Such a fine, little thing getting lost in the night? You never know what can get from behind the corner.” He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She suppressed a shudder and only smiled, hoping she looked as coy as she wanted to convey. She wanted to punch him.
“My father was playing cards in one of the clubs,” she started, her fingers were trembling so she intertwined them. “I just wanted to take a breath, but I went too far and I got lost. I don’t know what to do…” she forced her voice to break. The old man’s face was focused on her lips the entire time she was talking, her heart beat with a new dose of uneasiness. Where the hell was Kaz?
“It’s okay, doll” he placed his fingers under her chin, lifting her head. She could smell a cigar smoke somewhere in the room. She didn’t notice that the lamps were dimmed and the heavy, dark curtains were blocking out the light from the street lamps. She discreetly scanned the room, looking out for any possible exits, but the merchant wasn’t as stupid as she originally had thought. There was only one way in and only one way out. Right behind her.
The merchant was looking into her eyes, searching for something. “You think you are so clever huh?” his hold on her chin started growing stronger, soon he moved his palm to her throat, squeezing it, cutting her airways. She sucked in a breath but couldn’t do much about her situation. “Do you think I haven’t seen you around this bastard Brekker?” He squeezed her neck harder, she could feel her eyes water. “Do you think I wasn’t aware you would be coming here tonight?”
She tried speaking, but her efforts came out fruitless. She saw in his eyes that he had no intention to let her go. She was happy she would die in a gorgeous dress, at least.
“Oh, no, no, no,” he tsked. “You won’t die tonight, doll, not until I get my answers.” The merchant let go of her neck, just so she could utter a sentence.
“I will never betray Kaz,” she spat on his face, clawing at his palm.
‘You bitch,” he let her go. Y/n saw an opening and kicked him into his stomach. She turned on her heel and made her way to the door, but the man managed to grab her waist and kept her in one place. “I wonder if Brekker cares enough for you to come here,” he whispered into her ear, sending shivers along her spine. She felt the hairs on the nape of her neck rising. She tried wiggling out of his hold, but to no avail.
“Actually, I’ve been here for quite some time now,” came a voice from behind the desk. This husky voice, whose owner she wanted to murder with her bare hands at that moment. “You have something I want, Marcus.”
Y/n saw Jesper on the threshold, pointing both of his guns in their direction. When she looked up, Zemeni winked at her, letting her body relax. She forced herself free out of the merchant’s arms and made her way towards the exit. She was trembling. She saw Kaz motioning for Marcus to sit on the armchair she was previously on. The merchant was making his way to this direction slowly, never letting Brekker out of his sight. How clever.
“I must admit, your bitch is a feisty one,” he put his ankle onto his other knee, resting his hands on the armrests. In a second his head flew to the right and blood was leaking from his cheekbone.
“Call her a bitch one more time and I will break every single one of your fingers,” Kaz remarked calmly, his demeanor still the same. “I came for the money.”
“I don’t have your money,” Marcus countered, clutching a handkerchief to his face. “I have never stolen from you.”
“You are mistaken,” he got up, pulling a paper out of his pocket. “You were about to steal from me, Marcus. That’s what you wrote to your acquaintance, isn’t it?”
The merchant sat there, wordlessly, his eyes wide. Y/n smirked into his direction, whistling. “You’re a naughty boy, Marcus, a naughty boy.”
The man only snarled at her, she rolled her eyes in response.
“Well, since you wanted to steal from me, all I want is a percentage of your shares in one of the clubs in the Harbor,” Kaz looked at Marcus, his eyes still locked on the merchant.
“You are crazy,” he yelled.
“And you are a dead man unless you agree. It doesn’t have to be a big part, just a small one would be enough.”
After some time, Kaz had his shares and she had a bruise around your neck. She could still feel the phantom of Marcus’s hands on her throat. Until it heals, she won’t make it go away.
“So now what?” Jesper asked, his revolvers back in his belt and a smirk on his lips. “You’re going to sabotage the rest of his clubs?”
She was looking at the pavement, but not hearing Kaz’s response, she lifted her head and sent him a look. “Saints, you really want to do that.”
“Why else would I want shares from only one club? It wouldn’t be much if there were five others now, would it?”
Jesper whistled at his words and resumed his vigorous steps towards the Crow Club. Y/n stayed behind, her legs heavy.
“Kaz?” she whispered. She saw him lifting his eyebrow. “Why didn’t you help me when you saw him strangling me?”
“I didn’t see it,” he replied.
“What?”
“I only saw him holding you and you were trying to elbow him. And y/n I wanted to smash his skull so hard that his brain would leak out of his ears,” he said, his eyes never leaving hers.
“That’s disgusting,” she breathed a light laugh. Her brows knitted together. “How did you get in?”
“A magician never tells his secrets,” he smirked, leaving her behind him.

try a little tenderness | carmen 'carmy' berzatto x fem!reader one shot
summary: on the anniversary of mikey's death, you help carmy find a way to grieve. (set in the make my heart surrender universe, but can be read as a standalone piece)
warnings: swearing, grief, mild angst, mentions of death & suicide, second person pov, no use of y/n
wc: 2.3k
a/n: i wrote this as a way to process my own grief over the loss of a close friend to suicide. i fell so deeply in love with 'the bear' because i saw myself in so many of these characters: how they responded to losing mikey, the nature of the loss, and the ways they fought their grief. i see so much of myself in carmy in the show and this ended up being really cathartic to write, even though it's been three years now. anyways, heavy shit ahead so don't feel obligated to read but thank you if you do.

Grief is a funny thing.
For Carmy, most days it’s something easy to ignore – like an old friend that he’s managed to cut out of his day to day. He’s stopped calling, stopped picking up the phone, eliminated any and all thought about this thing that feels so foreign yet, so familiar at the same time.
But now he has you – and he’s never been able to bullshit you for shit. Some days, he feels like you see right through him. He knows he’s been irritable, short, impatient at the restaurant (and sometimes at home too). It’s something you handle better than he expected – better than he thinks he deserves.
“Honey, can we take a pause from this conversation? I just don’t think either of us are in the right headspace,” you’d asked him the other day when he’d tried to pick a fight with you. Completely caught off guard, Carmy had stared at you blankly in response, as if you’d suggested you both run naked down the street.
“If you wanna fight, we can fight. I just… don’t think this is what you’re upset about,” you’d explained, before slipping into the bedroom with the book you were halfway through.
And today, after he’d tried to pick another fight with you, you’d stopped him again, like a tornado hitting an immovable wall.
“Carmy, I’m not going to fight you about the dishes,” you’d sighed, shooting him a sympathetic look. “I’m gonna take a walk and pick some things up at the store for dinner. Is that still something you’d like to do?”
How could he forget when he’d been making his brother’s family recipe earlier that day, setting the braciole-filled dutch oven in the fridge to be put into the oven for later? But he almost has – another symptom of how checked out he’s been all week.
He’s not used to this. He’s used to his siblings – his mom – picking fights over the smallest things that usually escalated into a screaming match. And while you were willing to fight over things that felt worthy to go to bat for, always quick to call him out when he’s being a dick, you don’t engage in his smaller, more frivolous attempts at starting something over the smallest, nitpicky things.
It’s a whole new pattern for him, and he’ll admit, it’s harder than you make it look.
Earlier in the week, he knew he’d been in a trash mood. Then he looked at the calendar and saw what date was coming:
2/22/23.
Oh.
No wonder he’s been such an ass.
And now wonder you’ve been such a saint.
“Oh, um…” he stammers, as he realizes his memory has failed him again. “Uh… yeah, we can still do that.”
He’d forgotten you’d made plans for dinner in preparation for today, and truthfully, he’d been so absent-minded all week that he’s forgotten – forgotten about the plan, forgotten about what day it was, forgotten that that day was now today. Thankfully, you’d had the sense to make sure he was off that day, coordinating with the staff of The Bear to make it happen. While you knew everyone would be grieving today, you weren’t interested in a repeat of last year when the both of you were still in New York.
Sydney, the real hero of this story, had moved mountains to get everyone’s schedules nailed down for this week – knowing it’d be a hard week for everyone that knew and loved Mikey.
“No, we do not need a repeat of last year,” Sydney had agreed, as you’d explained to her the shit show that was Carmy going into work that night, one year ago. “Don’t worry. I’ll run the kitchen. Tap as many newer staff as I can to work too.”
With the recent press about The Bear (not to mention Sydney’s official James Beard finalist status) there’d been a huge increase in applicants lately. You couldn’t thank Syd enough.
“Okay. I love you, Carm. I’ll be back in a bit,” you reassure, before grabbing his keys and your coat.
“Yeah,” he mutters quietly, as he watches you go.
*
After lighting up a few in the apartment, he lays down on the couch, turning on something mind-numbing to not pay attention to on the TV. He’s not sure when or how long it takes him to drift off to sleep, but one minute he’s blinking his eyes closed, and the next he can hear the sounds of pots and pans clamoring around the kitchen.
He feels guilty: guilty for being an ass, guilty for trying to start something, guilty about what Mikey did.
You’ve told him time and time again: “I don’t think it’s fair to yourself to carry this much blame, Bear.” While normally, he’d love the way his familial nickname sounded coming from you, he’d winced at the mention – just because today, it hits a little too close to home.
He knows it’s not fair to himself – or to you – but it’s something he’s just not ready to let go of yet.
He can smell the braciole he’d prepared earlier that day; you’ve already put it in the oven, letting it braise slowly like it was meant to be. He recalled the conversation you both had had about this a few weeks ago.
“Let’s make a meal he’d like,” you’d proposed, wanting to be a supportive
“The braciole. Or maybe his spaghetti,” he’d suggested, so matter-of-factly that you could tell he was trying to mask his emotions.
“Maybe both?” you’d countered him.
“Yeah,” he‘d agreed, quick to put himself out of the discomfort the conversation was causing him.
“How do you feel about maybe asking some of the others to stop by, Only if they want. Only if you’re up for it,” you’d continued, cautiously.
“Can I let you know?” he’d asked.
“Sure,” you’d agreed, even though you knew he wouldn’t be bringing it up again.
As Carmy sits up from the couch, his mind drifting back to the present, he sees you posted up in front of his little apartment’s stove top, working on his brother’s spaghetti sauce. Pangs of guilt fill his chest, and he feels like absolute garbage for being a dick earlier. He can’t picture doing anything else tonight and he’s glad you had the foresight to do this. Carmy rubs the sleep out of his eyes, watching you move around the kitchen. You’ve got a window open just in case that tricky little smoke alarm goes off while you’re steeping the garlic in olive oil.
You’re busy trying to maneuver the largest saute pan Carmy owns over the burner for maximum heat exposure when he approaches. The sun’s already set, and the heat from the kitchen leaves a fog on the windows right near the stove, as you shake the saute pan by its handle.
“Hey,” Carmy says, his voice rough with sleep.
“Hey,” you reply, a soft smile on your lips as you turn to him. “Sleep alright?”
His unruly curls seem exceptionally messy this evening, and you can smell the remnants of the cigarettes he smoked while you were out. You hate how sexy you still find the nasty habit, even though you’ve tried your best to get him to cut back, citing lung cancer as a top reason. As much as you hate to admit it, you’re eager to taste the cigarettes on his lips, wiping your hands on your jeans because, unlike Carmy, you could care less to wear an apron at home. Framing his face with both of your hands, you place a gentle kiss on his lips, breathing him in as he kisses you back.
“Sorry I was an ass earlier,” Carmy says, in between kisses.
“Thanks. You’re kind of allowed to be an ass today though,” you say back.
He can’t believe you’re letting him off the hook this easily.
“And what about tomorrow?” he asks, taking a more playful approach this time.
“No, definitely not. Cut off. Ass privileges? Revoked,” you’re quick to banter back, earning a dry laugh from your boyfriend.
As you return to your post in front of the stove, Carmy slaps your butt playfully from your earlier comment, eliciting a giggle from you as he does it. He watches you work, adding salt to the tomato, onion, and butter you’re reducing in the saute pan, while the saucepan-filled olive oil/garlic/basil mixture comes up to a simmer.
“I know you’ve always said that Mikey’s pasta was over-sauced and under seasoned… but it sounds like he just needed a little extra salt and a few little tweaks here and there,” you continue, tasting the tomato sauce.
He’s not ready to taste the sauce just yet, even though he’d suggested you make the spaghetti in the first place. He watches as you use a spoon to check for salt levels, tasting the sauce first. You throw your head back as the salty tomato mixture hits your tongue. Carmy watches you carefully as you remove the sprig of basil with a pair of tongs, tossing it into a deli container for the trash later. Placing the deli container on the counter next to the rest of things you need to dispose of, his eyes linger on the 28 oz San Marzanos.
Because the small ones taste better….
You busy yourself with straining the oil, setting it aside to add to the sauce towards the end of the process. Carmy checks his phone briefly, seeing a few texts from Richie, Syd, and Tina – all just checking in.
“Silly question, I know. But how are you doing?” you ask him, having found a good stopping point.
Carmy thinks about it for a second. He’s not sure how he wants to answer – how he’s supposed to answer this question.
“I’m… I don’t know,” he managed to get out.
You nod in acceptance, before replying with an empathetic, “That makes sense.”
“It doesn’t feel real, I guess?” he admits, taking his time as the words fall out of his mouth.
“I can only imagine, Carm,” you sympathize. “Wanna help me out?”
“Yeah,” he replies, a half smile on his face.
You’re so kind, so understanding, so empathetic, and he can’t picture spending this day with anyone but you. He thinks back to last year – when he got the news. It was the worst day of his life and regardless of that fact, you’d been there: caring enough to show up, to fight with him, to make sure he ate something. And then that night… the night you crossed the line, slept together even though both of you knew it was a bad idea, that there was no way you could start something real.
He’s not sure how you got from there to here, but he thanks his lucky stars for whatever good deed he’s done in a past life that’s led to it.
“Thank you for this,” he says intentionally, making sure you hear him as he continues with, in reference to earlier, “... and I love you too.”
You don’t expect anything from him, and he’s grateful, because he’s not sure he has anything to give. Not today.
You give him the softest smile, something that makes him want to melt right there and then when you reply with:
“You don’t need to thank me.”
You step aside, making space for Carmy as you give him a task to do to help with dinner. You made the executive decision not to scale Michael’s recipes down, making them as written – family style. If anything, you hope to bring some of the leftovers, sharing his food in honor of his life. You wish you could’ve met Mikey, and since you didn’t get to, making his food feels like the best way to get to know the man Carmy loved and admired so much.
You queue up a good playlist, working in perfect harmony with Carmy till dinner is ready to eat. Between the braciole and the spaghetti, you know you’ll have more than enough leftovers to feed the two of you for the next week. You let Carmy plate – something he’s truly exceptional at – watching him as he creates a perfect twirl of spaghetti before tearing a few pieces of basil for garnish. As you bring the spaghetti to Carmy’s small dining table that is only meant to seat two, he plates up the braciole on one plate for the both of you to share. You set the table, enjoying the sounds of the playlist you’ve set for the night, before sitting down to eat.
Carmy takes his first bite of the spaghetti, knowing that it’s not going to be an easy thing for him. You watch closely as he tastes the sauce, his eyes closing and face turning a darker shade redder.
You wait a beat, letting him settle in before asking:
“What do you think?”
He nods his head, “It’s fire.” You can see that he’s holding back tears, not ready to lose all control just yet. “It’s actually better… than Mikey’s”
You eat your dinner quietly. It’s the good kind of quiet but the air feels heavy. Carmy may not always have the words for what he’s feeling, but he doesn’t need to right now. You try the braciole together, sharing one plate as he tells you about how Mikey refused to use raisins, even though that’s how they grew up eating the beef dish. You listen, letting him travel down memory lane, only as far as he’d like tog.
Halfway through dinner, Carmy says something that surprises you:
“We’ve got more than enough leftovers to feed a large family of… twenty,” he states plainly. His blue eyes water as he continues with an ask. “You uh… maybe wanna pack this up and take it to the restaurant tonight?”
“Yeah, Bear. I think everyone would love that," you agree, the smallest smile on your lips. "Would you... wanna tell me a little about him? On our walk there?"
Carmy nods, "Sure. Yeah, I-. I think I can do that."

Fate (part 4)
Soldier boy x Fem! Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Reader is a scientist who is forced to work at lab that they keep soldier boy frozen, she talks and cries to him when she is alone, thinking he can't hear her but he hears everything.
......
She was tense.
The streets were different than what she remembered.
It was more crowded, more gray, more concerete
Even air felt more different.
people where everywhere, rushing to their jobs, talking on the phone, No doubt she missed being outside. But not this. She missed the green, forests, trees, the silence, Being able to lay down on grass and daydream for hours. Away from people, away from the world.
Lost in her thoughts y/n didn't realized that she was clutching to his arm.
He was tense as her, feeling it, she turned her head to look at his face. There was confusion in his eyes, which didnt surprised her, he was asleep for 40 years after all, must be a nightmare she thought, falling asleep to a awful world. Then waking up to even more awful one.
But there was something else in his eyes too.
Anger, or disgust maybe?
Well she couldnt blame him again, all the things humans did to him.
-"Are you okay?" she asked
It was like he didnt hear her, still looking at surroundings.
She squezzed his hand gently, asking him again.
He heard this time, Confused look suddenly vanishing, a confident one taking over. He answered while sueezing her hand back.
"Yes, doll why wouldnt i be?"
She knew he wasnt, she could see it. The slight twitching of his mouth, The tense shoulders, and jaw. He was faking it. She decided not to talk about it.
"dont know, i thought it might be a hard for you, i mean you are seeing the world after 40 years."
"This is nothing to compared the things i seen doll, dont worry about me. I fought the nazis, i was locking up the assholes even before you were born."
-"yeah, i know B-ben -sorry i mean soldier boy, i read them in your files. Very brave of you."
"Ben is fine." he said smiling slightly.
-"But what about you? Your heart is beating like a bird." He added.
"Oh, shit, of course he can hear it." She told herself.
This was one of his powers.
-"I-its nothing, i always feel nervous in crowds."
-"Is that so? why?"
-"I-i dont know i always been like this."
Whatever you say doll he said, she had a feeling he didnt believe her either.
They walked and talked, he asked her about the things he saw on the street
And she tried to explain them, which was hard.
Especially "rectangle things" that people hold in their hand, or put in their ears very confused him.
-"do you have one too?"
-"yes, i mean i had one, before they took me. I used it mostly to listen to music."
-"you can listen music it with?"
-"yes, we can get you one too, when we have money. Actually i had a bank account, we should check it."
He pointed the wall behind her suddenly, there was poster of a blonde guy with blue eyes.
-"Who is this punk?" He asked. This is the 10th time i seen him today"
"O-oh he is Homelander. The strongest supe"
"Strongest supe?" He scoffed, arrogant expression on his face.
-"People really love him here, more like worship him. I always found him a bit off tho."
-"Why is that?"
-"Dont know, she shrugged her shoulders. Just a feeling i guess."
-"well doll, i agree with you."
He said absently, he was one of them, He knew how different supes were from what media made them seem. Far away from the saints people thought they were.
How would she feel if she knew? He thought to himself.
The things he did.
Would she be afraid of him too, hate him too?.
a sound, made him snap back from his thoughts. a music was coming from a distance:
"За окном кудрявая белая акация, солнышко в окошечке, алым цветом лес
У окна старушечка, лет уже немало, с Воркуты далекой мать сыночка ждет
У окна старушечка, лет уже немало,"
He was almoat hypnotised, starting to walk towards it. Dragging y/n too, with their still interwined hands.
Hearing Russian song made her flinch.
-"Ben where are we going?"
He didnt answer, turning to right,
It was an empty street. Just a truck waiting on the corner. Few boxes with vegetables in it. And a old radio
He halted suddenly looking at the radio.
"-Lets go ben this song is getting on my nerves too." she told him. Pulling him soflty.
but suddenly his bag fell from his shoulder. He leaned forward. Breathing heavily.
-"Ben, whats happening are you hurt?" She half screamed. putting her hand in his forehead,
He was burning.
It was like he wasnt hearing her. Just like in the lab.
And
His chest started glowing.
She realized in horror. It was happening again. "No, she thought no one can see him they would lock him up again, they would hurt him."
She could never let this happen again.
With shock ,She did the first thing to came her mind again.
She hugged him, with her all strenght. Covering his chest with her body.
And started whispering to his ear.
-"We are not there anymore. We escaped Ben. You are free."
-"you saved me too, you took me to a plane, remember. Remember please,"
She continued to whisper. Brushing his hair. While crying.
Didn't know how much time passed, but eventually his breathing turned back to normal. His body cooled down.
He pulled back slowly, looking at her face. His expression normal and strong again.
But she was far from it. Her whole body trembling. Her lips were quivering, nose red, fat tears on her cheeks.
He wiped them with his fingers. Patting her heas as if she was a cat. As if he wasnt about the explode 2 mins ago.
"lets get out of here doll. I know where to go."

And of course I dedicate this to @survivingandenduring and @kateispunk for holding a gun to my head until I wrote this inspiring me to write this 😘
——
Dave prods his index finger at the highlighted portions of the floor plans on the tablet, which he presents to his compatriots.
“There are entrances here, here…and here,” he points out, tapping the third for emphasis. “She’ll be expecting those. Watching them.”
Dave brushes his bottom lip with his thumb, brow creasing in contemplation.
“Ari and Resnik can head off the two main entrances. Joel, you take the side. And I’ll enter…here.” He places a finger where there’s a hastily drawn ‘X’ facing a private alley and courtyard.
“Don’t see a door or window,” the tall, tan man to his left drawls, placing a hand on his hip.
“Right. There’s a secret entrance there which leads to a crawl space left over from the city’s bootlegging days. None of the residents know. And guess where it exits?” Dave asks, eyes darting between the three men.
He places a finger where the bedroom closet would be.
A smirk twists Joel’s mustache. “Shit,” he says, scratching thick, weathered fingers through his scruff. “Gonna hit ‘er from all sides.”
“Exactly,” Dave responds, mirroring the way his companion places his hands on his hips. “We’ll strike at 10 PM sharp. That’s when the main festivities begin. No one will hear a thing.”
——
Dave crouches next to the hatch that leads to the secret door beneath the building, long since defunct due to the city’s proclivity for flooding.
A crackle resonates through his ear piece.
“Miller. Anything?” Dave asks.
“Nothin’,” Joel answers in a low southern lilt, positioned at the bottom of the narrow stairwell on the east side of the building, clicking the safety off on his Glock.
“Ari, Resnik? Station yourselves. Miller, I’m going in.”
“10-4,” Joel returns.
Dave yanks up on the metal hatch and it opens with a jarring creak, drowned out by the roar of the crowds on Bourbon Street and another jazz band playing their rendition of Oh When The Saints Go Marching In for probably the 1,000th time that evening.
He slips in easily and finds a peeling red door, which is shockingly ajar. A stray cat rushes out with a shriek, spitting feline obscenities at him.
“Fuck!” Dave snarls as the dark, furry void streaks past him and into the night.
“What’s goin’ on?” Joel’s voice.
“Nothing. Fucking cat. I’m inside.”
A low, throaty chortle sounds through Dave’s ear piece.
“Eat shit, Miller. Start heading up. I should reach her apartment in five.”
“Unless there’s more cats guarding the place.” This time it’s Ari’s voice. Dave pointedly ignores him.
The crawl space is narrow and damp, crushing in at him from all sides and choked with cobwebs and god knows what else, but it’s surprisingly not the worst place he’s ever been.
The space quickly dead ends into a ladder that looks like it’s seen far better days, rusting from the bolts outward. Dave can’t help but wonder if it will support his full body weight.
“‘M at her front door,” Joel remarks through the ear piece.
“Climbing the ladder now,” Dave responds as he begins his ascent, gripping the bottom rung and giving it a hard jostle to test its integrity.
The metal rungs protest and groan under his weight, but the structure holds true.
The boys had thought it absolutely ludicrous when Dave had come to them for their help with the hit. Four men for one single woman?
Bullshit. A waste of time and resources.
That is until they’d familiarized themselves with your rap sheet. Just shy of forty murders in less than a decade, and a weapons and ballistics specialist to boot.
But it would all end tonight, and that price on your pretty little head would be a nice cherry on top.
He reaches the hatch leading into your closet a moment later, twisting the mechanism that holds it flush to the wooden floor above.
He draws the Beretta from the holster on his hip, clicking off the safety as he strains his hearing to listen for something, anything, that would give him pause; that would make him abort the mission.
He hears nothing but the music seeping in from the streets through the century old brick.
“I’m in, Joel. I’m in,” Dave whispers, lifting the hatch as he silently crawls inside your closet, the scent of you overwhelming his senses, making his nostrils flair. Cock already half hard in his dark denim jeans at the prospect of another name scratched off his list.
Your name.
——
Joel makes short work of unlocking your door, pushing it open with his foot as he replaces the Glock with the heavier semi-automatic at his back, holstering the pistol on his hip.
His face pinches. You hadn’t even locked the deadbolt, despite having one, a feeling of dread slithering up the crease of his scrotum, perspiration pricking at his skin.
You’ve been waiting for them.
You register Joel first, his heavy footfalls impossible to conceal under the creak of the original wooden flooring. It’s almost laughable how loud they’re being, Joel making a ruckus behind you and the other rustling somewhere in your closet, probably smelling your panties for all you know.
Joel finds you at an open window, back facing him as some loud pop song he doesn’t recognize drifts up from the Quarter below. You’re naked aside from a short, black pleated skirt that barely ghosts the lower curve of your ass, a silver and white fox tail peeking out from beneath the hem of said skirt.
Though he can’t see it from his current vantage, a gun rests on the window sill in front of you. You’re starting to think you won’t be needing it. Not when the man at your back could have already taken a clear shot at you and didn’t.
You lean slightly forward, revealing more of your ass to Joel and cheering as you catch a handful of colorful Mardi Gras beads from one of hundreds of floats below, waving your arms triumphantly over your head before you slip the necklaces around the lovely column of your neck.
Joel spots Dave then, mocha brown eyes shifting to his comrade, his expression unreadable. The Beretta drawn to shoulder height, trained at your head, but he isn’t pulling the trigger. Not yet.
Lowering the rifle, Joel lifts a fist in the air to signal to Dave, take the shot, asshole.
But he doesn’t, and neither does Joel, staring at your bared skin, the exposed hills and valleys of your body. Two men reduced to little more than their base desires in mere seconds. Exactly what you were expecting.
You finally shut the window and turn to face them when they do nothing but stand there, transfixed by your beauty. You’re wearing a masquerade mask in royal purple that’s trimmed with gold lace, cinched tightly behind your head.
You won’t be needing a gun when you can use sexuality as a weapon. It wasn’t the first time, and certainly wouldn’t be the last.
“Took you long enough,” you admonish, eyes drifting back and forth between the two men.
The larger one is broad and older, unkempt curls swirling away from his head, dusted with silver. The beard tracing his jaw is dark and patchy, a thick mustache framing his upper lip.
A red and black flannel stretches across the expanse of his upper body, tucked into dark wash jeans, ending with heavy work boots. His eyes darken in their regard of you.
His companion is also broad, only just less so, and younger than his comrade by what you guess to be ten or fifteen years. His face is clean and smooth with the barest hint of shadow, plush lips pushed outward in bewilderment, a black beanie pulled down to conceal his dark hair, matching the rest of his attire.
“Love the outfit, but a bit on the nose, don’t you think?” you ask the younger of the two men. The edges of his lips twitch upward in amusement.
You sway your hips slightly, making the tail between your legs wag to and fro, enticing the two men to ease closer. And they do. Exactly where you want them.
Dave notices your fingers dancing across the lid of a small metal box in the nick of time.
A new party drug originating from Ibiza, its purpose intended to act as a powerful aphrodisiac amongst the most experimental, but as with most things, too much could be dangerous, in rare cases fatal. It usually came in tab form, but it had been sold to you as a fine powder, and your plan was to drug them senseless until they fucked each other to death or you killed them, depending on how bored you got.
You grasp the ornate metal box in your fingers and flick your wrist outward, hurling the contents in a direct trajectory at Dave’s face, which would have hit the intended target had he not been ready to deflect the strike with a hastily lobbed pillow from the nearby sofa.
The cloud the hit produces is magnificent, a shimmery white mist which coats your face and lips and everything else in its path, inhaled through your sinuses and entered through your bloodstream as traces of the powder land on your tastebuds.
You spit and claw at your face, but it’s too late, and you know it.
You’re fucked in more ways than one.
The affects are almost instantaneous, a fiery hot inferno that builds low in your core, a lance of pain sawing through you from the inside out. Your pupils dilate and everything is suddenly too bright, too painful, every source of illumination having a halo that almost resembles a mushroom cloud in its brilliance, its potency.
You feel the sticky slick coating the inside of your thighs and you double over, clutching your guts, tears pricking at your eyes.
“Whatsa matter, darlin’?” Joel asks, your show of pain bringing him immense joy. “Can’t handle what you dish out?”
His cock strains against his jeans as he watches you and you groan, spreading your legs as you slip a finger between your folds in a bid to quell some of the ache. “Fuck…” you grit.
“Jesus, York, the hell’s wrong with her?” Joel questions.
Dave can only stare, transfixed, palming himself over his jeans.
Both men can’t help but jump when Resnik’s voice comes through the ear piece, so lost in your body they almost forgot why they were there to begin with.
“Everything alright?” he asks.
“Good,” Dave responds. “We’re…negotiating.”
“Negoti— fucking seriously?”
“Yes,” Dave answers firmly, his voice a low and husky. “I’ll explain later. For now, stay in a holding pattern, and make sure no one enters the building.”
Resnik starts to say something else, but Dave flicks off the ear piece and tosses it to the floor before he can finish, already forgotten. Joel follows suit.
“Help, please,” you whimper, stepping toward Joel as you fumble in desperation at his jeans. “Need it bad. It hurts.”
Joel abandons his weapons, drunk at the sight of you. His massive hands circle your waist, squeezing, desirous, lifting your skirt to cup your ass, exposing the tail tucked between your cheeks to Dave. You keen and without thinking, Joel bends forward to press his lips to yours.
“Miller, stop —“ Dave spits sharply, but it’s too late. Joel kisses you, deep and wanton, tongue swiping hungrily at your lips, and within seconds he receives his own dose of the drug, though not nearly as much as you.
He spins you in his grasp and hikes your skirt even higher up your waist, revealing your pussy to Dave, dragging two thick, callused digits between your dripping folds, bumping your clit. You moan and press your ass against him, the hard line of his cock nudging at the plug, heightening your pleasure.
“Y’like that, darlin’?” Joel murmurs into the shell of your ear.
“Yes,” you answer too quickly. “But I need your cock.”
“That so?” he answers gruffly, making quick work of his jeans as he shucks them off like a second skin, the drug already firmly rooting itself in his brain.
He tugs his boxers down, fat cock springing free from its confines as he shoves you forward, folding you in half over the couch with a broad palm pressed between your shoulder blades, notching himself at your entrance and pushing himself inward with reckless abandon.
You grunt at the reprieve, the sting of how forcefully he invades you, how he fills you.
Dave watches the events unfold in stunned silence, lips parted and skewed, unbuckling his belt as his eyes fixate on your face, your lovely sparkling eyes. The way your mouth hangs open when Joel begins railing into you with everything he has to give.
He reaches forward and plucks the mask from your face, discarding it, so he can see you. See how well you take it.
He drags the pad of his thumb along your succulent bottom lip, pressing it against your tongue, to the back of your throat, teasing. Testing.
He exhales a groan when you don’t gag.
He quickly steps out of his jeans and boxers, climbing onto the couch in front of you, roughly gripping the sides of your face so that your lips pop open for him.
You take him into your mouth without question, mewling softly, your throat and jaw burning with effort as he sinks himself into you.
Dave presses the barrel of the gun against your temple, his voice a snarl as he says, “Try anything and I’ll spray your pretty little brains all over these walls, sweetheart. Understood?”
You nod around him in affirmation as he begins rutting into your mouth, his other hand fisted tightly in your hair.
It isn’t long before Joel drags your first orgasm out of you, every muscle in your body constricting, relieving the pain only temporarily before it flares up again, white hot and slithering through your veins like molten metal.
“Thassit, darlin’. Takin’ that dick like a champ,” Joel praises, giving your ass a sharp slap. Every thrust of his hips knocking against the plug secured firmly in your ring of muscle.
“Fucking whore, letting two men enter you,” Dave growls, the gun pressed so squarely against your skull, it’s sure to leave an indentation.
Joel finishes inside you expeditiously with a low growl, panting into the small of your back as he collapses forward, knees smarting.
“Quick on the draw as always, Miller,” Dave tuts, clicking his tongue.
Dave’s fingers twist at your roots as he pulls you further onto his length, bottoming out with a shudder at the back of your throat.
“Fuck off, York,” Joel retorts, still fully hard inside of you. He tugs at the end of the tail, smirking playfully, causing you to moan.
“What if I shoved my dick up your ass next, sweet girl?”
You whimper around Dave in reverence. For both of them.
“Not a chance. That ass is mine,” Dave snorts. “Soon as I’m done with this mouth.”
Joel doesn’t argue. Your pussy feels too good, the way you squeeze him, and it isn’t long before he’s railing you hard again, never having gone soft, even at his age.
You cum a second time, soaking Joel, your release splashing down his muscular thighs. Your moans reverberating through Dave’s cock.
“Fuck, I’m not going to last like this…” Dave grunts as he pulls himself free from you with a pop of your lips, jaw hanging slack as Joel’s unforgiving pace doesn’t falter behind you.
“Trade places, Joel,” Dave demands.
“Not a chance,” Joel growls, the sounds of his hips slamming against your ass lewd and depraved.
“Now, Miller,” Dave reiterates, eyes deepening a shade as he lifts the gun away from your head to aim it at Joel.
“Fuck,” Joel spits, extricating himself from you as he and Dave exchange places. “Fine.”
Joel’s wide palms cup your face and he doesn’t waste time stretching your jaw and throat beyond their limits because fuck, he’s girthy. You taste the cocktail of you and him on your tongue.
He circles the outside of your throat with his hand and squeezes, feeling himself moving in your esophagus, grunting deeply as he watches you take him.
You jolt when you feel something cold, rigid and foreign dashing through your folds a second later, realizing in abject horror what is happening just as Dave pushes it inside of you and begins fucking you with it.
You moan, eyelids fluttering closed and Joel grunts deep in his chest, hand tightening around the cradle of your throat.
“Yeah, you like that, don’t you, slut? You like being fucked with my gun?” Dave grits from behind you.
You make a sound of supplication that tells Dave yes, yes you do.
He grins in satisfaction and drives the gun deeper, angling it just right, making you keen. The resulting squelch is deafening and obscene.
He pulls another orgasm out of you almost immediately, once again temporarily relieving the bubbling pain, sobbing around Joel, who’s already filling your mouth with more of his seed, spilling down your throat with a snarl.
He slows only for a moment, still hard as iron, ready to go again. And again.
Dave drags his lips up the curve of your ass and sinks his teeth into the meat of one of your plump cheeks, clamping down. You writhe against him at the small dagger of pain that courses through you.
“That’s it, sweetheart,” Dave purrs, giving the smarting cheek a slap.
As he continues to fuck you with the barrel of the pistol, his other hand skirts your tight star of muscle, fingers dancing around it.
His hand curls into the synthetic material of the tail, reveling the softness against his fingertips, and begins to tug slowly, lightly, testing.
You initially clench out of instinct, but relax your muscles as understanding settles over you, allowing him to pull it free from your puckered hole, letting it drop to the couch.
“Such a good girl,” Dave croons, tilting his face forward to place a chaste kiss there, the tip of his tongue darting out to circle your rim. You whine and arch into his touch.
“You should have some of this drug, York. Y’won’t have to worry about lastin’ then.”
“No,” Dave says as he lifts his head above your ass to lock eyes with Joel. “One of us needs to keep a clear head.”
“C’mon,” Joel taunts, swiping a finger through the mix of powder and tears still on your face. “Have a taste. Live for once.”
Joel extends his offering to Dave, hovering just over your lower back, inches from Dave’s lips. The men stare each other down, each of their movements slowing, much to your displeasure.
Dave eventually resigns himself, taking Joel’s fingers into his mouth and giving them a good laving with his tongue, tasting the sweetness of the drug, the saltiness of your tears.
Without warning, Joel succumbs to another high, exhaling a sputtered groan as you swallow what he gives you — what little of it there is at this point.
The drug makes quick work of Dave, twisting him into some kind of untethered beast as he drags multiple orgasms out of you with the barrel of the gun, his tongue flicking hungrily against your ring of muscle.
There isn’t a part of you that isn’t on fire. With desire, pain, fear. Fear that this will never end, that these two men will rip you apart from the inside out before all is said and done, but in spite of yourself, in spite of everything, you don’t want it to end.
“Lie back, Joel,” Dave commands and Joel does so without hesitation, his age getting the better of him, welcoming the relief he’ll receive as he makes himself comfortable on your couch.
Likewise, you’re happy for your jaw to have a momentary reprieve, as well, rubbing your tired muscles with your fingers as you catch your breath.
“Get on top of him,” Dave barks at you.
You willingly climb atop Joel, panting, lining yourself up with the slick head of his shaft. Joel’s heavy arm comes up to bar across your hips, pushing you down onto him until you sink all the way to his curls. The new angle making you keen and arch.
Dave presses you forward until your chest is flush with Joel’s, flattening you out before him. Joel doesn’t miss the opportunity to wrap his lips around yours again, kissing you sloppily, roving the wet heat of your mouth with his tongue, making you whimper as you begin riding him.
Dave spreads your cheeks apart and spits a globule of saliva at your puckered entrance, pressing two digits inside easily.
“Good thing you already loosened up that ass for me. You can take both of us, can’t you, sweetheart?” Dave murmurs and you simply nod, not wanting to tear your mouth away from Joel.
He lines himself up, placing the weeping slit of his head against your muscle as he begins pushing inward, inch by agonizing inch. Though you’re properly loosened up, there’s still a slight sting as your muscles contract and pulsate around him, stretching to accommodate his size.
You pant in hitched breaths, never having felt so full, so sated, before. It’s like they’re everywhere inside of you, consuming every inch of you like rabid jackals. Joel’s arms lacing around both you and Dave as both men begin to move independently within you.
You soon discover why they work so well as a team. Within minutes their movements are synchronized, a coordinated dance with you placed right in the middle, every downward thrust from Dave immediately proceeded by an upward lance from Joel. And they somehow manage to maintain said synchronicity for quite some time, even as they’re filling you to the brim with their cum.
They pump you full of themselves and you continue to drench them with every orgasm they drag out of you, your shared fluids sluicing down your bodies, soaking the cushions of the couch below.
It’s okay, you can just burn it if you actually end up surviving this. But hey, if you don’t, what a way to go, right?
Everything begins to meld together after a while, lines and vision blurred, your bodies practically stitched together at the seams, a perilous dance between the three of you in the throes of passion when the drug reaches its peak.
Their hands paw at you, knead you, your flesh supple and malleable under their large palms. They dig their fingers in, branding you, bruising marks left in their wake. Your head twists to and fro, tongue snaking between your teeth as you alternate between locking lips with both of them. You aren’t certain, but you think you see Joel and Dave link lips a few times as well, but its difficult to ascertain for sure, each scene of debauchery bleeding right into the next.
It goes on like that for hours, Dave and Joel occasionally switching roles, manipulating your overwrought body into a host of varying positions.
You have to stop a few times. For water, or just to take a break and a quick breather before you’re at it again, both men claiming your body like the primitive animals they are.
Dave has to call off his two remaining men when they practically try to beat down your door, understandably mystified and concerned, drinking in the vision laid out before them when Dave answers the door naked as the day he was born.
He sends them away when their motives shift and they make a sudden plea to join, letting them know in no uncertain terms that you are for him and Joel only.
You pout as you watch them leave, ever eager for more, but you don’t allow yourself to dwell on it, the three of you getting right back into the swing of things the moment they’re gone.
——
You must have shifted to the bedroom at some point during the night, as you rouse from sleep between two massive furnaces of men, a thin sheen of perspiration coating your still naked bodies.
You extricate yourself from the tangle of limbs and climb out from beneath them. You could easily put an end to them right now, if you were so inclined. But there’s something oddly endearing about the way they’re passed out in your bed, practically cuddling one another, Joel snoring like a chainsaw, that gives you pause. You’re amazed you were able to get any sleep at all with them in your bed.
You give them a final glance before you hastily make your way to the bathroom to clean up.
——
After your shower, you slip into a set of loose and comfortable sweats — a stark contrast from last night — tucking your pistol into the band of your sweatpants. You know, just in case.
You sweep up the remaining powder, making sure to wear proper PPE this time, salvaging as much of it as you can, should you ever need it again. As a weapon next time, you tell yourself.
Once done, you wander into the kitchen, chewing on two naproxen tablets before chugging what seems like a gallon of water to alleviate your dehydration and the various aches and pains riddling your body.
You’re starving so you put on a pot of coffee and whip up a simple breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast, enough to share. You plate the eggs and bacon on a platter and place them in the center of the table while you finish up the toast.
Your back is to Dave when he enters the kitchen. You feel the boards shift and you spin on the balls of your feet, drawing and raising your gun. You aren’t at all surprised when you find him doing the same — holding the same gun he fucked you with — dressed only in his boxers, your eyes locked, staring each other down in a deadly game of chicken.
“Easy now, kids. Thought ya worked out your differences last night,” Joel chides as he steps into the kitchen next to Dave, adjusting himself in his boxers.
You swallow, eyes blown wide, and you lower your gun first, even though you shouldn’t. After an uncomfortable beat, Dave does the same.
“We good?” you ask him.
“Yeah. Good.” Dave furrows his brow at you, unconvinced, but willing to play nice. For now.
“Smells great, sweetheart,” Joel says, seating himself at the table, helping himself to a plate.
You make a motion for Dave to sit.
“Could be poisoned,” he warns Joel, who flashes him and incredulous slant of his eyes.
“Fuck sake—“ you grit, scooping up a spoonful of eggs and shoving them into your mouth, canting your eyebrows at Dave as you inhale them. “Satisfied?”
Neither of them says a thing, but you catch a glimpse of Joel’s smirk below his mustache as he begins shoveling food into his mouth.
You finish preparing the toast and pour each of them a cup of coffee before serving yourself.
“Thanks,” Dave says, quietly, his eyes sliding down your body, tongue trailing his lips.
“You know, I don’t even know your names,” you say, glancing between the two men.
“Dave,” he replies. “And this is Joel.”
“Well, you already know my name. Nice to meet you, Dave and Joel,” you say.
Silence settles between the three of you while you eat, you seated between them, pouring more coffee when their cups inevitably empty.
You stay like that for a while, mulling over what to say next.
Dave is the first to break the silence.
“Thank you. For breakfast. And for…last night,” he says, averting his gaze.
You smirk.
“I’m not a bad person, you know.”
“Never said you were,” he responds.
“Just a name on a piece of paper.”
“That’s right. The infamous Datura.”
“I don’t kill indiscriminately like you do. I kill bad people. Corrupt politicians. Crooked cops. Genocidal maniacs.” You swallow down a swig of coffee. “But I guess I should have known better than to take out a senator’s son this time.”
“You know, we’re all putting our lives on the line, too, by not completing the contract,” Dave explains. “Should probably get the fuck out of dodge. Maybe you, too.”
His lips skew into a ghost of a smirk, eyes mapping the gentle slopes of your face.
“Yeah, I figured as much.”
“We might need an extra set of eyes, if that’s the case.”
You smile, leaning across the table, resting your chin in the bowl of your palm. Your eyes sparkle sweetly as they shift between Dave and Joel.
“Dave, are you offering me a job?”
His hand comes up to hook around the back of your neck, lips crashing into yours as his other hand grips and squeezes your hip, making you whine when his fingers graze one of many tender spots.
You hear a throaty chuckle rise from Joel next to you.
“Take it that’s a yes, darlin’.”
FIN.

Yoo can I ask for all saints street nick X reader pretty please ????
Absolutely, I love him so much. Banged this one out super quick so apologies for any mistakes.
Nick Hoult x Reader (All Saints Street)
Let Me Stay!
Tumblr media
Pairing: Nick Hoult x Reader
Word Count: 791
Summary: Nick won't stop coming to your apartment. Can be read as an established relationship or the beginning of one. Reader is a slight tsundere.
Read it on AO3 here too
Story:
“You’re home!”
“Get out of my apartment”
You glare at the devil as he lays sprawled out on your couch with a bag of popcorn in his arms. The TV is playing a show you’ve never seen before.
“Don’t be such a sourpuss. I know you’ve been dying to see me.”, he pushes his luck.
All you wanted to do was kick your shoes off, flop onto the couch, and sleep after a long day at work. Someone was making that very difficult. It really is your fault for being so nice to the jerk in the first place.
You had walked past Nini’s apartment and seen Nick sitting on the steps outside of the building with his head in his hands. You were by no means strangers and you had met him plenty of times before when you were invited over, being a friend of Ira and Nini. He was flirty, loud, messy, and a bit too handsy at times. But, he was nice. You fought against your urge to keep walking and mind your business. You really should have. Mistake number one.
“You okay?”
He looked up at you with glossy eyes that almost seemed to say “do you really care?”.
“Oh, Y/N. I didn’t realize you were coming by today.”, his Aussie accent dancing on each word.
“I’m just passing through. You look like you’ve had a tough day.”
Nick went on to tell you about the argument he had with Lynn, where Lynn accused him of being a slob (right), loud (right), not paying rent (right-o), and eating his food (right again). Lynn had told him to high-tail it out of there before he purified him out of anger. Yeesh.
“I just wanted to stay with my brother! Is that so bad? I’ve no where else to stay.”
As much as you agree with Lynn, you couldn’t help but feel bad for the demon. A pang of empathy rang through your heart at his brotherly love. Mistake number two.
“You can crash at my place”.
His goat ears perked up at your words as the corners of mouth formed a smile.
“Really?”
Ever since then, Nick has taken a liking to hanging out in your apartment whenever Lynn kicks him out. Which brings us back to Nick lounging about. You sigh and slip off your shoes. You walk towards the couch.
“Why are you here?”
“Lynn is one of his moods again.”
“Maybe he’d like you better if you paid rent or cleaned up around the house”.
“I don’t live there”.
“You don’t live here either. Get out, freeloader”, you say sharply as you push his legs off the couch.
Nick holds onto his popcorn for dear life, trying not to spill it everywhere from the sudden movement.
“Hey!”
“Out!”
He put the bag of popcorn down on the coffee table and raises his hands in surrender, “Listen, I just thought you could use some company. You’ve been cooped up all the time lately. Haven’t seen you at the flat for months”.
“I visited last week. I don’t come by every day because that’s rude, intrusive, and I have work.”
“Last week? How come I didn’t see you?”
“I don’t think you were home.”
“You came by and didn’t even wait for me?”, from the tone of his voice you’d think you had stabbed him. Pure betrayal.
“Nick, be for real”.
“So you didn’t miss me at all? Not a little?”
You wavered.
“I… didn’t say that”.
“So you did miss me!”, he approached you cheerfully now that you were both standing.
“I didn’t say that either”, scrunching your face.
He hugged you tightly, his strong arms wrapping around your frame. The warmth of his body enveloped you in a way that made you cozy and dizzy at the same time. He smelled of cinnamon and cigarettes. He felt like home.
“Ugh get your buttery popcorn fingers off of me.”
Nick knew you didn’t mean it but he let go anyway. He stands too close for comfort and your heart beats loudly in your throat as you struggle to pull yourself together. He looks down at you lovingly, anticipating your next words.
“Fine, fine, fine. You can stay, but don’t make a mess like last time.”
He smiles at you as his tail twists into a heart shape.
“Thank you, my love”.
“Yeah, yeah”, you mutter flopping onto the couch. Ah, plush softness at last. You sit up slightly and leave room for Nick to sit beside you. You drape your legs over his lap. He wraps his arm around your shoulder and pulls you closer to him. The fabric of his shirt feels soft as it grazes the skin of your arm.
“Change the channel”.

Rafiq alruwh
I'm not sure yet if this will be a Bane x reader oneshot or not.
I like it like that, but I could find ideas for part 2. My only problem being that I still need to finish others Tom Hardy's characters story, while wanting to write Feyd Rautha stories.
Tumblr media
As much as Y/N listened to these stories over and over again, she couldn't imagine the feeling everyone would describe.
The moment your skin touched your soulmate's skin, and suddenly everything became clear, better. A feeling of joy and the burning need to stay by this person's side forever.
It was a rare phenomenon that scientists could not explain. It was completely impossible to know when this would happen, or if it would happen, because fate seemed cruel. Most people either didn't have soulmates or didn't have the chance to meet them in their lifetime. The world was too big and time too short.
There were still skeptics, who claimed that it was all nonsense, lies, invented by people blinded by love or who wanted to give themselves a certain gender. Only those who ended up meeting the person changed their mind, the others remaining too jealous to accept the truth, considering that it was only a romantic utopia.
Y/N wanted to believe in it. She dreamed of meeting her soulmate and experiencing this special moment.
Her parents were not meant to be together. It was visible.
In her entourage, she had an uncle who had had this experience, a few neighbors, a friend, and all had said the same thing.
What they had in common was that they were all good people. Maybe that was one of the reasons.
“You might have had to choose another type of profession then.”
"Mom…"
“I’m just saying that cop is not the most popular job in the world.”
"And I would say that choosing to be a non-corrupt police officer in Gotham is almost like being a saint."
"You'll end up getting killed, long before you meet your soulmate. I'll never understand why you wanted to be a cop, especially in this town."
There came a day when her mother's fears almost became a reality. The day when terrorists took the entire city hostage with a bomb, preventing everyone from entering and leaving.
It was probably not what she had thought when she talked about dying, but for several months, hidden with her colleagues, Y/N thought about her soulmate, trying to imagine this meeting that would probably never happen.
Staying mainly with Blake and Gordon, she tried to hide her pain, but it did not escape Miranda Tate, who took her hand with a gentle smile and asked what was tormenting her.
“We’re going to die here.” Y/N whispered. "I mean, I'm not afraid of that, that's the risk of the job. But… I didn't think it would be like this now. I wish I had met my soulmate before."
"Your rafiq alruwh. I didn't think many people cared about it here."
"My what ?"
"That's how my father called soulmates. I grew up with a lot of stories about it, because he and my mother were related. I prayed a lot to be that for one of my friends, but no. Our destinies are linked, but not like that.”
"Sorry."
"Even if I would have liked him to be mine, I wish him happiness and that he meets his other half one day. A being worthy of him, of his love and his protection. He deserves to be happy. You too, you seem kind. Maybe you shouldn't have been here."
Her words were strange, but Y/N didn’t tell the others. It wouldn't have changed anything anyway. Even though she had discovered that Miranda Tate had the detonator, that she was the real leader of the terrorists, the streets remained controlled by the militias.
As always, they were saved by the Batman. She had never really known what to think of the vigilante, protected by Gordon and hated by everyone else. He clearly wanted to help Gotham, but his methods remained illegal, and not necessarily effective in the long term.
His death was a tragedy, but not necessarily the end of a symbol. Hope was still there, even stronger, and the Gotham police were determined to ensure everyone's safety.
Y/N felt this determination too.
Still, she froze as she inspected the sewers with Blake and Ramirez. They too had a moment of hesitation, as their lamps illuminated a body. A huge body, sitting against the wall, face hidden by this frightening mask.
There had been a search for Bane and his men after the explosion. Witnesses said the Batman fought him, and won, but they found nothing.
Obviously, the terrorist had managed to drag himself here to die.
"What do we do ?" Ramirez asked shyly. “Should we put a bullet in his head ?”
"What ? Why do you want to do this ?"
"To make sure he's dead. I've seen a lot of movies, man, I know the mistakes to avoid."
She didn't approve of the speech, but Y/N agreed, it was necessary to check it out.
Feeling almost stupid, she moved forward slowly, her hand reaching towards Bane to see if he felt a pulse.
She didn't expect the large hand that quickly grabbed her neck before she could touch him.
Fear paralyzed her body, and yet there was something else. An indescribable, incredible feeling, which resembled happiness but more intense, which was absurd in this situation.
Y/N felt so lost that she didn't realize the hand was relaxing, just resting against her skin instead of squeezing and snapping her neck like it easily could have done.
"Habibi…" was the word spoken with difficulty by Bane, who stared at her with an indecipherable expression.
“Let her go right now, you bastard !”
Maybe he was as confused as her, or maybe he was too weak, but the terrorist didn't avoid Ramirez's punch, while Blake grabbed Y/N to pull her as far away as possible.
She stood still, not understanding what was happening, as Ramirez called for reinforcements, proud of having been able to knock out the giant, even though he knew as well as anyone that he would have had no chance. if his mask hadn't been damaged and he wasn't half dead. It was not possible.
Bane couldn't be her soulmate, Y/N refused to believe it. A man like him had no soul, not after everything he had done, and above all why would he be destined for her ? She didn't feel like she had committed a crime that deserved such punishment.
She was probably never going to see him again anyway.
If he survived to Blackgate, he would be locked there forever. Even if she had permission, she had no intention of visiting him.
But the feeling remained there, strong, impossible to ignore, demanding more. An incomprehensible need to be close to the one who had touched her, so that he would touch her again.
Y/N resisted. She gave her report to Commissioner Gordon, forgetting a few small details, and indicating that she did not wish to follow this case, leaving Bane's case to better agents than her.
This seemed to surprise him, as he considered her one of his best people, but he accepted.
However, it was impossible not to think of her soulmate, since the whole town was only talking about him and his arrest. The television was on loop every day, and her colleagues thought they were doing the right thing by keeping her informed of progress.
"They say his face is horrible. I think there are photos in the file."
"I'd love to see that ! I can't imagine that fucker at all without his weird mask. Do you think he has a normal voice without that thing ?"
“I can go get it so we check.”
Ramirez's gaze met hers as he stood, and without her needing to speak, he knew it was best for him to sit back down and change the subject.
Y/N didn’t see the photos. She absolutely didn't want to.
After several weeks, she asked to take a vacation, claiming to still be traumatized by what had happened to her, in addition to the near destruction of Gotham. She needed some time to rest.
Turning off all the screens and her phone, she tried meditation to clear her mind, so she could get some sleep and forget that her soulmate was a crazy, half-dead terrorist who would soon be judged.
This miserable attempt being a failure, she turned her phone back on shortly after midnight, only to be bombarded with calls and messages, coming from several colleagues, Blake, and Gordon.
"What is happening ?" she asked, calling the Commissioner back.
"Damn, I almost sent men to check on you, you weren't responding ! Where are you ? Are you okay ?"
“I’m at home, why ?”
"Don't panic. Blake will come get you."
“Gordon, what’s going on ?”
"He hasn't said anything since his arrest, keeping very quiet, and then yesterday Bane spoke. He asked to see you, giving your name. The other agents are categorical, it's impossible that he knows ot, no one told him. The agent simply replied that you were not on the investigation, and even on vacation… Damn, he…"
“Gordon, what ?”
"He escaped, Y/N. We don't know how. No one knows where he is, or what he's going to do. But since he talked about you, I don't want to take any risks. Don't move, John will come right away."
She could have told him that she knew very well why Bane had spoken about her, and that it was undoubtedly necessary for her to leave without delay, but fear held her back.
Even if it wasn't her fault, what would the commissioner think when he learned of her connection to the fugitive ? He was a good man, but all men had their limits, and she would be the first to be wary of someone designated as Bane's soulmate.
After hanging up, she jumped out of bed to grab her gun and shoes, ready to wait for Blake to arrive in her living room.
Y/N froze in the middle of the hallway, seeing the huge figure standing between her and the front door.
His face was covered by a scarf, his posture a little less proud than in the videos she had seen of him during his city hostage situation, he appeared to be in pain, but it was obvious that if she tried to pass, he would retain her without the slightest difficulty.
“Habibi.” he whispered, and indeed his voice was different without his mask, more human. "What a joy to see you again. More beautiful than I remember or on pictures. Will you come with us without resistance ? I don't want to hurt you."
"Hands in the air." she replied, pointing her gun at him, ignoring the urge to hug him. “Don’t move, my colleagues are coming.”
"I admire your sense of duty and honor, Habibi. But I will not return to prison, ever again. And I will not leave you either. I thought of you every day. Is your neck healed ? I need to repair my wrongs to you.”
“I said, put your hands in the air.”
“So you leave us no choice, Habibi.” he sighed, looking behind her.
We. He said we, and someone gave him her name. Y/N reacted too late, one man grabbing her gun, and the other not holding her shoulder, injecting something into her neck with a syringe.
In an instant, she found herself on the ground, her vision blurring, but her body not panicking, as it was invaded by an incredible sensation. Bane had reached out to hug her, his eyes smiling as he ran a hand over her cheek.
"It's okay. I'm taking you home, rafiq alruwh."
All her life, Y/N had waited for this moment, this feeling, this sentence. She told herself that the stories we said to children were really stupid, as her eyes closed.

Enraged
Pairing: Aleksander Morozova x reader
Summary: You’ve never seen your husband this enraged...
A/N: loosely based on this scene from Netflix’s The Crown
You had seen your husband mad, you had seen him livid, even, but this…this was a new level of anger and rage.  Shadows pooled at his feet, crawled up his legs, twitched at his fingers.  Aleksander was…there were no words to describe how angry he was.  That anger had sparked when you entered his study with tears coursing down your face, and had grown a hundred fold when he learned what had caused them.
One of King Pytor’s advisors had blatantly insulted you: called you a litany of horrific names, questioned your power, your standing, and Aleksander’s love for you.  “She’s nothing but a half-witted whore,” he’d said.  “And a Lieutenant!  Saints know that’s only because the General thinks she’s a half-decent lay.  Does she even have powers?  She claims she’s a Heartrender, but it wouldn’t surprise me if she’s as powerless as the trash on the street.”
He didn’t know you’d been just around the corner, didn’t know you were listening.  Aleksander had taught you how to stand up for yourself, how to command respect, but in that moment, you felt so broken, so weak, so torn down by the advisor’s words, that all you could do was flee.  Straight into your husband’s arms, whose concern had morphed into white-hot rage when he learned what that bastard had said.
Aleksander summoned him immediately, his shadows jumping angrily.  They would see bloodshed, they knew, and they were hungry for it.  “Go to our rooms, Y/N,” your husband managed, his voice strained and clipped.  His anger was not directed at you, you knew, and you knew it was taking everything in him to keep from razing the Palaces to the ground.  “I don’t want you to see this.”
You pressed a kiss to Aleksander’s cheek before obliging, but before you could take more than a step into the hall, you heard the advisor enter, and you lingered outside the door.  “General Kirigan,” he said.  “What is it?”  “Advisor…”  “Lenkov, sir.”  “Ahh, Advisor Lenkov.  I’m sure you’re wondering why I’ve summoned you here.”  “Indeed I am, General.  I have no dealings with your Second Army.”
Aleksander chuckled, and you watched as shadows slithered into the room.  “No, you do not.  However, it has come to my attention that some…choice words were spoken about someone very close to me.  Inflammatory words, insulting words, and you, Advisor Lenkov, are the culprit.”  Lenkov blanched, he knew he’d been caught.  But rather than confess and spare himself, he merely asked, “Who are you referring to?”
Your husband’s voice was dark, dangerous when he replied, “Y/N.”  It would have been the wise choice for Lenkov to admit his crime, to apologize, but the advisor was not a wise man.  He rolled his eyes, flaring Aleksander’s temper.  “Why would I care about her?”  “Because I care about her!” your husband roared, his fury rattling the glass in their window panes.  “Morning, noon, and night, I care about her!  And you’ve hurt her!”
His next words were quiet, threatening: “And if you hurt her…you hurt me.”  Aleksander called his shadows, forming a wreath around his clenched fist.  “Allow me to make one thing explicitly clear: when someone hurts my wife, I have a vendetta against them.  I don’t care that you’re the King’s advisor, I don’t care if you’re the fucking King himself, no one insults my wife and gets away with it.”
Aleksander flicked his wrist, and Lenkov screamed.  Your husband had fashioned a blade from his shadows, not the Cut, but a small, deadly sharp knife, one that would be called “kind steel” in the slums of Ketterdam.  The advisor’s eye  had been pierced, and when Aleksander twisted, the advisor fell to his knees.  “The next time I catch wind of you whispering such filth about my wife,” Aleksander snarled.  “It won’t be your eye you lose, it’ll be your life.”
Hurried footsteps were heard retreating from the room, and you threw open the door, finding your husband breathing heavily, a trail of blood exiting the room where Lenkov had fled.  “Sasha…”  “I thought I told you to go to our rooms,” he said, but his shoulder sagged upon hearing your voice.  You walked into his arms, clutching him to you tightly.  His shadows dissipated, sated now that he’d defended you and that you were in his arms.  “I love you,” you whispered, and your husband only held you tighter.
When Lenkov arrived at court a week later, he wore a patch over his missing eye, inky black scars peeking out from beneath.  The entire court had heard of what had happened, and while no one said it aloud, the sentiment was clear.  General Kirigan was not a man to be crossed, especially when he came to his wife.

can we always be this close
requested by anon: Congrats for reaching 6k!! I feel like such a proud mom, i've been following you since you had around 2k and you deserve this so much!! Could i please request a jesper x reader fic with the fake dating trope?
summary: from strangers to friends, friends into fake lovers, fake lovers into lovers
Tumblr media
Kaz held a piece of paper out to Jesper. "Here's your invite."
Jesper took it between two fingers and flipped it over, unfolding it to its full size. "Mr and Mrs Leonard," he read, his brow furrowing.
"Oh, why do we have to be married?" Y/N grumbled, snatching the paper from Jesper's hands.
Jesper tutted, trying to snatch it back. Y/N slapped his hand away and, reluctantly, Jesper backed down.
"Because I need both of you for this job and it was easier to have one invitation than two," Kaz replied. "Now, here's the plan."
"Jesper and Y/N, you two are going to pretend to be guests of Van Delnik. Once inside and the party has started, one of you will cause a commotion."
Surrounded by big skirted dresses and expensive champagne, Y/N had never felt so out of place. She gripped Jesper's arm tightly as they walked through the corridor to the giant spherical ballroom.
"Ready?" Jesper asked, lowering his voice enough so that only Y/N could hear.
She nodded. "Yep."
"Inej, you'll be disguised as one of the maids. Once you see the commotion, head to the roof. I'll meet you up there."
"What are we stealing, again?"
"We're not, Jesper. Inej and I are staking out the building - Van Delnik is hiding his treasures somewhere and I for one want my DeKappel back."
"It wasn't yours in the first place, Kaz."
"Semantics, dearest Inej."
Y/N took her arm from Jesper's and took a step to the side, bumping into one of the men nearby. When he grunted and turned to tell her off, Y/N pretended to stumble, knocking the man's champagne glass onto her, and fell into Jesper.
"Sir, watch where you are going!" Jesper exclaimed, standing Y/N up on her feet. He dramatically whipped out a handkerchief and started dabbing at Y/N's chest and the bodice of her dress.
"Your wife bumped into me!"
"Because he tripped me up!" Y/N replied, pointing at a random man nearby.
"Once Inej and I are on the roof, we'll go in through the side window into Van Delnik's office. Jesper and Y/N, you need to give us at least ten minutes."
"I think we can manage that, can't we wife?"
"Oh, I am going to regret being married to you."
Once the commotion of who had tripped and spilt champagne on Y/N had calmed down - she'd managed to convince the men it'd been their fault - Jesper had whisked her away over to the buffet tables, out the way of the crowds.
"Saints, this chicken is to die for," Y/N muttered. She licked her fingers, wiped them on her skirt and picked up another piece. "I need the recipe." Y/N wiped the corner of her mouth with a napkin. "Saints my face is a mess."
"I think it looks beautiful," Jesper replied, smiling at her.
Y/N returned his smile.
"How do we know you're done?"
"Trust me, Y/N, you'll know."
The entire ballroom shook as something exploded outside the doors. Glasses wobbled and smashed onto the floor. People screamed. Guards rushed forward from their hiding spots.
"I guess that's the signal," Jesper muttered. "Now to get out of here."
"Where do we meet you?"
"Out the front - you'll be one of the many screaming guests if all goes to plan."
Jesper grabbed Y/N's hand and she clutched on tightly as they joined the throng of people trying to get out through the double doors. They both held on to one another, determined to stay together and not be split up by the crowd.
Once they'd squeezed through the double doors, the crowd spilled out into the street. Some ran away, some stood their, overwhelmed and shocked. To the right, a fire burnt away inside s store room, flames licking the glass of the windows within.
"Found them," Jesper muttered.
He pulled Y/N to him and they moved through the crowds, weaving over to the left and away from the fire. Kaz and Inej had both changed into servant uniforms and were blending in with the shrubbery and shadows.
"We were spotted," Kaz said as they walked up to them. "The bomb wasn't the plan."
"Oh, we thought it was," Y/N said. She absent-mindedly ran her thumb along the back of Jesper's hand. "Do we need to go?"
Kaz shook his head. "No, we'll wait -"
"There they are!"
Four heads shot up and turned sharply to the right. A disheveled looking guard was stood on the steps, pointing directly at them.
"Yes, we need to go," Kaz amended. "Meet at Black Veil."
As the Stadwatch and Van Delnik's personal security began to come at them, the four of them split up. Kaz and Inej going one way, Jesper and Y/N going the other.
Y/N gathered the numerous layers of her dress skirt and ran down the cobbled streets, wind blowing through her hair, tearing it out of its intricate up do.
"Split up," Jesper said, letting go of her hand.
Y/N darted right as Jesper went left. The pursuing guards stumbled to a halt and then quickly spotted them and their plan, splitting up themselves and chasing after them.
The street lamps had been left on in this bit of town - a sign of the rich who lived there. They could afford to burn the oil. Y/N saw an open public garden to her left and quickly pushed open the small iron gate and ran inside, the trees obscuring almost all of the street light. She ran through the bushes and the trees, the heels of her shoes sinking into the damp ground.
Eventually, she emerged out the other side. Y/N glanced behind her as she came out onto the street and ran into someone.
"Oh, saints!" Jesper exclaimed, his hands catching Y/N's waist and pulling her forward and into him.
Y/N put her hands on his chest, stopping her face from smacking into it. "I thought you'd gone the other way!"
"I did, it looped to here!"
"Oh my -"
"There they are, shoot them!"
Jesper grinned at her, taking her hand in his. "And off we go again."
They broke out into a sprint, running down the street once again. Bullets began to ricochet off the floor and the walls around them as the private guard began shooting at them.
Y/N giggled, the adrenaline running through her. Her laughter cut off abruptly as something hit her back and side, a searing pain shooting through her entire being, She stumbled forward, Jesper's going around her waist and holding her up.
"Ok, ok, come on," Jesper said, looping his arm through Y/N. "We need to keep going, Y/N, I'm sorry."
Y/N groaned in pain, pressing the palm of her hand against her side. She focused on putting one foot in front of the other and trying to breathe through the pain.
At some point, they lost the private guard - Y/N wasn't sure when - and entered Black Veil Cemetery. Jesper was on auto-pilot, walking down the headstones until they reached the mausoleum.
Jesper and Y/N all but fell through the doors and down the stairs, startling person who was already inside.
"Saints," Nina swore, her arms reaching forward and catching Y/N as she fell forward, her legs folding beneath her. "What happened?"
"What do you think happened?" Jesper muttered, all but ripping the buttons off his jacket in an attempt to get it off. "Kaz and his ridiculous plans."
"I'm fine -" Y/N cut herself off with a yell of pain as Jesper pressed his jacket against her side.
Nina sighed, tutting to herself. "I'm -"
"Not a healer, we know, Nina," Jesper and Y/N said together.
"Alright, saints," Nina muttered. "Come on, down the stairs."
Somehow, Jesper and Nina managed to get Y/N to her feet and down the stairs. Together they lifted her up and onto the empty tomb that often became a table.
"I'll be back," Nina muttered, guiding Jesper's hands further over Y/N's side. "Try not to die."
With a bustle of skirts, Nina disappeared back up the stairs, leaving Jesper and Y/N alone, in almost complete silence.
"I'm sorry," Jesper whispered.
Y/N looked up at him. "What for?"
"I... I don't know, it just feels like my fault because I came back to you and they followed me and -"
"Jes, breathe," Y/N said softly, placing her left hand on his cheek. Her thumb trailed over his skin gently, catching the few tears that managed to escape his eyes.
"I'm sorry." He dropped his head, breathing in deeply.
"Talk to me, Fahey," Y/N said, putting her hand under his chin and gently lifting it up until he was looking at her. "I'm listening."
It took him a moment to gather himself enough to speak. "When I was young, my mother tried to help this little girl. The girl had been poisoned and my mother, being grisha, went to help. She drew out the poison from this girls body into her own - saving the girl's life but ultimately killing her.
"This... you bleeding out on my, frankly, rather lovely jacket and coming close to dying it's just..." He sighed, shaking his head. "It just brought back those memories."
Y/N nodded. "I get it." She paused. "I'd miss me too."
Jesper laughed. "Nicely done."
The sound of Nina returning gave them both precious seconds to compose themselves - even though the heartrender had probably sensed something was going on.
But Nina didn't say a word. She walked in, moaning about Kaz, and shooed Jesper away, demanding space to work.
Jesper didn't leave. He helped Nina get Y/N out of her corset and held the hem of Y/N 's shirt up. He held her hand as Nina began to heal the wound. It didn't hurt as much as a needle would have done, but it still felt uncomfortable and weird. As soon as Nina was satisfied, she patted Y/N on the shoulder and disappeared back up the stairs, muttering something about Kaz and a knife.
"Do you think -"
"No," Jesper said, "no I don't think she did."
Y/N looked up at him, smiling. "Would you -"
"Of course."
Jesper picked up a roll of bandage. He moved closer to Y/N and she shifted, letting him standing in between her legs. They'd been in this position numerous times before - but it was only ever flirting and only ever for a job.
But now, something had shifted between them. A new understanding had emerged - one that could only have happened when someone came close to losing the other.
"My hands are cold," Jesper warned.
Y/N nodded, smiling. "It's fine."
Jesper's fingers brushed against her side and he held the bandage firmly against the wound. He then unrolled the bandage and wrapped it around Y/N's middle, keeping it tight. Y/N leant against Jesper's shoulder as he fiddled with the bandage behind her back, resting her head against his.
"You know," Y/N began, her voice soft, "I really enjoyed pretending to be your wife tonight. Even if it was just pretend."
Jesper stood up, having finished tying the bandage. He looked down at her, his legs brushing against hers. "It doesn't have to be pretend."
Y/N felt her heart skip and her breath got caught in her chest. "No," she said, reaching a hand up and combing her fingers through the hair on the nape of his neck. "It doesn't."
Jesper lurched forward and pressed his lips against Y/N's. The force of Jesper's kiss meant that she had to brace herself against the tomb with her hands, barely catching herself before she fell backward completely.
"Is this ok?" Jesper asked, resting his forehead against hers.
Y/N could feel his breath against her skin. She opened her eyes, immediately getting lost in Jesper's gaze. "It's perfect."
She leant forward and pressed her lips against is neck, trailing down to his shoulder. Jesper pushed her back and Y/N let her arms fold down until she was lying on the tomb, Jesper on top of her.
"I really hope Nina has had the common sense to go outside," Jesper muttered, resting his head against Y/N's chest.
"Either way," Y/N arched her back as Jesper pressed a kiss against the side of her neck, "she will do soon."

"Leave me alone, Fedyor!" you shout at the heartrender, who somehow managed to find you in the crowded city. Christmas was in a few days, and the residents of Os Alta took to the streets to buy the rest of the gifts at the last minute.
Tomorrow, you would have probably been among them too, picking up a gift for the general, if it weren't for the conversation with that old witch who tormented you in your youth when she was your mentor and trainer.
"C'mon, Y/N. We need to go back to the Little Palace."
Fedyor grabs your arm, trying to pull you away from the bar. But you don't let yourself be distracted from your place. Instead, you pour him a glass of alcohol and hand it to him, clinking your glass against his.
"How is it that the guy I like always turns out to be a red flag? Is it because of our keftas? Do we always end up with a man fitting our outfit?"
"Oh, saints... I thought you were a little more sober." he sighs and downs his drink, sitting down next to you. You lean against him, nuzzling into his shoulder as you continue your drunken accusations and complaints.
"I am sober! I am finally sober, Freddy!"
"Fedyor." he corrects you, smiling in amusement at your cute drunken state.
"Whatever." you say and drink a shot. "The point is... that men suck." you speak in a very serious tone, as if revealing a great secret to him.
"Hey!" he says, acting indignant and playfully pushing away from you. This makes you lose your balance a bit, and you grab the wooden bar counter with all your strength.
"Not you! I mean, not gays. Well, Ivan too, since you both argued, but… Ugh! You know what I mean." you lean on his shoulder as he tries to lead you out of the bar without you noticing.
"Yeah, I can imagine." he obediently agrees and puts your cloak on you before leading you out into the streets of Os Alta.
"What I want to say is that I am finally sober from my stupid feelings, crushes, and everything I was feeling since I've started to work with that damn bastard."
"Who the hell made you hate him so much?"
"Myself. And woman. A really wise woman. We should listen to women more!" you shout, hugging him tight as you lose your balance in a rush of emotions.
"Y/N. Let's get home. Before you fall and smash your head on the ground."
"I should've taken Zoya with me. She knows how to have fun. Not like others. And she also hates him! Alina probably too. We can start a club! The club: 'I hate the Darkling." you mumble in your drunken state, holding on to Fedyor for dear life as he leads you to the Little Palace.
He thanks all the saints above for not noticing that you two are passing through the gates of the palace.
"You don't hate him. You are just hurt for some reason. I can't tell why, but I guess you should go and talk with him about anything that happened."
"You have the right!" you agree with him enthusiastically, and he frowns in surprise. From the combative and defiant way you expressed your sudden aversion and hatred for the general in the bar, he expected you to fight him at all costs. "Let's go!" his eyes widen at your words, in realisation that you weren't on a peaceful path to reconciliation at all.
You push away from him and stagger towards the general's chambers.
"No! Y/N! Wait! Not now." he says panicked and runs after you. He grabs you by the collar and pulls you back before you hit the wall.
He sighs, realising that it won't be that easy for him to convince you to go to your own chambers instead of going and arguing with Kirigan.
Tumblr media
Aleksander was returning from a meeting with the king, to which Ivan had dragged him. He was angry at this old fool for interfering in the affairs of him and the Little Palace. Or, actually, he was so angry that he had to leave your warm arms and soft lips to deal with this royal asshole for three hours.
All he wanted was to come back to you. He secretly hoped that maybe he would find you completely naked in his bed or in his warm bathtub, waiting for him.
But when he reached his chambers, he didn't find you at all.
"Y/N?" he asks as he comes inside. He walks past the war room and kncoks on the table in case you didn't hear him walking inisde. "Y/N?"
He looks into his library, his dressing room, his bedroom, and even his bathroom (yes, he was a fool who never gave up hope), but you are nowhere to be found.
"Y/N?!" he shouts, returning to the war room. His heartbeat sped up dramatically. You weren't here. You were supposed to wait for him.
Aleksander had to find you. You wouldn't just leave without leaving a note—nothing. On the other hand, he didn't notice any signs of a fight or a skirmish in his chambers. You simply vanished. You disappeared. Like you've never been here. Like all the moments he shared with you, they were only an imagination of his mad mind. For a moment, he felt like he had lost all his common sense.
He put on the kefta again, which he threw off as soon as he arrived. He was adjusting his collar when he stopped, alarmed, hearing a noise in the corridor.
Just in case, he summons his shadows and leaves the chamber with his black shadows dancing around his fingers. He leaned out slightly, scanning the corridor, ready to cut in half whoever dared to take you from him again. He sighs in relief when he sees you on Fedyor's shoulder as you say something to him.
For a moment, he was terrified. That they came for you again, that someone took you from him again, that something happened to you again and he wasn't there in time to save you... or that you wanted to run away from him and leave him like so many others.
Like Luda or Ulla.
"Y/N." he sighs with relief. Your eyes widen as you see him.
He was walking towards you, but he stopped when he saw betrayal, bitterness, and rage shining in your eyes instead of the loving gaze he used to receive.
But that wasn't what worried him most. That was your look—the same look he got from many people in his youth when they found out he was a shadow summoner. Except that your disgusted, angry look hurt him more than any of the people's glances at him, his mother's scoldings and taunts, or the wound from the blades they tried to kill him with.
He sees how you tense up at the sight of him, watching his every little move carefully. He felt anxious, a shiver running through him as he was greeted with your hostility instead of the sweet smile with which you said goodbye to him. And he had no idea where your change in attitude had come from.
Something was wrong…
"There it is! The liar! The bastard! The walking devil himself!" you shout, walking towards him.
You trip over your feet, and he automatically takes a few steps forward to catch you in his arms before you land on the floor. He looks at you carefully, and by the strong smell of alcohol coming from you and your flushed cheeks, he perceives your condition.
He completely forgot about your hostility. For now, his priority was keeping you safe and comfortable. Firstly, he just needed to understand the reason for your drunkenness. When it turns out that nothing terrible has happened (such as the sudden death of one of your family members), then he can cope with that sinister glint in your eyes that appears each time your gaze meets his.
"Is she just drunk or something bad happened?" he asks Fedyor, confused, as he finally get together enough to say something.
"YOU! That's what happened! You are the worst fucking man I have ever felt in love with." his heart skips a beat at your drunken confession. He wanted to hear it; he had secretly craved it for some time, but certainly not under these circumstances...
"C'mon, milaya. Let's take you to bed." he whispers, nodding at Fedyor to leave. Heartrender bows to him and heads towards his chambers, leaving you two alone. He gently hugs you and leads you back to his chambers.
You lean on him, and for a moment, everything seems okay as he sits you down on his bed and kneels in front of you to untie your shoes. But when your eyes meet his face again, you go into a kind of fury, kicking him and moving away from him as far as possible.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!"
"What happened to you?!" he asks, bursting out. He doesn't understand your sudden hostility, how your attitude towards him changed in a matter of minutes—hours, actually—and how suddenly all your love and affection just... stopped existing for him.
"You!" you shout, pointing your finger at him. You wobble on your feet, and at the last moment, he comes over to catch you. This time, you let him place you on his bed and take care of you.
"More details, please." he sighs in anguish, making sure you're comfortable for the rest of the night. Whatever wrong you think he's done, no matter how mad you are at him, he won't let you escape his watchful eye like this. He would keep you safe even if you pointed a damn shotgun at him.
"I had a really nice conversation with Baghra." he freezes, halfway through unbuttoning your coat. Baghra talked to you. His mother, who hated his insides. Various scenarios and stories that she could have told you run through his head. He's glad you're telling him that when you're drunk. At least this will give him time to prepare his counter-speech until you sober up and can have a serious conversation. He just hopes that Baghra hasn't had time to make you completely hate him and to turn you against him in the few hours he's been gone. "That's it, you lying traitor! I know everything!"
"Y/N... it's not what it looks like..."
"Of course! Yes! How was I so blind to fall for your lying tongue?! I believed your sad stories and cute, puppy-like eyes, like some stupid, naive girl. Ugh! I stayed with you for damn Christmas, so that you don't feel lonely and could enjoy the holidays for probably the first time in your damn life instead of visiting my little brother!"
He doesn't respond to your words. He just holds your hand and strokes it gently as you continue to drunkenly mutter whatever's on your mind. And he listens carefully, focusing his attention on all the noteworthy words that will help him understand at least a little about how you feel and how he can fix the mess that this mad witch called his mother has gotten him into.
"I just thought you would turn out to be a better man." you whisper disappointedly, snuggling into his pillow. He finds the sight both endearing and heartbreaking.
He sighs and presses a kiss on your forehead, running his hand through your hair as you sleep deeply.
He won't lose you. Many people turned away from him; he let many of them go; he also lost many, but you won't be one of them. He may be selfish, but he's fed up with loneliness, and with you... with you, he feels like a completely different person. Someone he was before centuries of life shaped him into the man he is now. A general who was supposed to take care only of his Grisha, no matter what. A man who knew that power was something that had to be tamed, something that could not be allowed to go uncontrolled, and with you, he had lost too much of that control lately.
He had to fix everything.
And the sight of your tears drying on your cheek and neck, where he had placed tender kisses hours earlier, made him realise where he needed to start.
Tumblr media
"You're already crawling here? I thought you'd be chasing your precious little heart first." his mother said this as he stood at the entrance to her cottage. She was finishing packing. A few years ago, he would have thanked the Saints for finally getting rid of her, but now he was glad he had made it before she left.
"Did you think I would just let you leave? That I'll let you escape and hide in a hole while I put out the fires you start?"
"I don't need anyone's permission. Besides, I doubt you'll be able to put out this fire. This little girl is quite a gasoline. She didn't need much to understand what she got herself into. Or to run away." he laughs mockingly as he steps inside. He leaves the door open to get on her nerves.
"Then, with great pleasure, I am here to say that she is back and sleeping peacefully in my bed."
"Stupid girl." she mutters under her breath and closes her bag. She throws it over her shoulder and finally turns to face him. "And what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be keeping an eye on her? After all, she can tell your little secret to the Sun Summoner. And then your plans…"
"I trust her." he says confidently, staring defiantly at his mother. "She won't do anything against me." he adds, feeling the necklace you gave him under his kefta and remembering the countless times you stood by his side, the countless times you showed him your devotion and affection.
"She trusted Kirigan. Not Aleksander." she notices. Aleksander feels bile rising in his throat and uncertainty, but he quickly shakes off the feeling, knowing that causing it is the purpose of his mother's words. And he learned better than to continue listening to her poison.
"She will trust the real me too."
They both stare at each other, waiting to see who will give in and whose defence will be low enough to strike a blow. This was mainly how conversations with his mother went. Eternal strategies, planning the next step, careful observation, and most importantly, keeping a mask and not expressing any real feelings and thoughts.
Maybe if he hadn't created the fold, things would have been different between them. But it wasn't. And he didn't know what hurt him more—that he had lost his only support over the centuries or that he couldn't just let her go or hate her completely as she deserved.
"After you lied to her? I doubt it. Remember what I told you? That greedy man may be terrible, but..."
"But there is nothing like a mad woman." he finishes for her, rolling his eyes at her poor attempt to make him doubt or dislike you in any way. "I have nothing to worry about."
"Then you should watch out for her. She may be Grisha, but she's as dead as we are, as is Miss Starkov. It's easy for something to happen to your precious little second-in-command."
"Be careful with your words." he growls menacingly, taking a step towards her. He glares at her with his evil gaze, but it does nothing for her. He knows he won't hurt her, just as she won't attack him... at least not yet. "If you put her in harm's way... think about what I might do..." an unspoken threat hangs between them.
"You were pathetic. You are pathetic. And you will always be pathetic, Aleksander."
He almost flinches at her remark. The eternal dispute between them. About Aleksander's attachment to people. Even the most fragile and weak ones, when Baghra abandoned her own children when they were not strong enough... Like she did with Ulla.
"Just like you'll always be alone, mother." he points this out and is happy to see the slight change in her facial expression as her mocking smirk disappears from her face for a moment. His small victory.
Baghra doesn't respond to his words. Shadows engulf the cabin, and before he knows it, she is gone, leaving him alone inside. He clenches his fists and spreads the shadows with a sweeping movement of his hand. He sighs, wondering how much Baghra told you was true about him and how much she made up to paint him as a power-hungry monster in your eyes.

He returns to the Little Palace in the morning. He's waiting for you to wake up, trying to read some reports and finish writing orders, but he can't bring himself to do it. All he thinks about is you, what he will tell you, how you will react, and whether you will hate him like his mother wanted you to.
When you finally wake up, he feels both delighted that his torment is over and concerned that he will have to talk to you soon. He walks up to you and hands you a cup of water and some hangover medicine.
But you don't accept it from him. Instead, you stare at him uncertainly, distrust shining brightly in your eyes, piercing his heart. He swallows, trying to get rid of the feeling of pain.
"You are aware I am the same man I was 24 hours ago?" he asks jokingly, setting the glass and medications on the nightstand next to you. He doesn't sit on the bed; he stands next to it, giving you some space. He must act methodically and carefully. Approaching you like a deer… or stag.
"No, you are not." you say it stubbornly, glancing at the things he left on the bedside table.
You raise a glass and look at the drugs carefully. Fortunately, he refrains from snorting, disbelieving that Baghra only needed a few hours of conversation to turn you against him. YOU. The only person he showed the parts of Aleksander hidden deeply in the darkest parts of himself from the world.
"Y/N... please. I just want to talk."
"About what? How have you been lying to me?" she asks him hostilely, looking at him defiantly. He knows that look and attitude. He had seen you like this more than once, when you were interrogating the Fjerdans they had captured. He never wanted to be at their place. And there he was.
"About how can I fix the way you think about me because of my mother, who isn't as much of my fan as you can guess now?"
"Well, at least now I know who you inherited this attitude from." you huff, getting out of bed. You reach for your folded kefta on the chair he left for you and start to put it on yourself.
"I beg your pardon? I am nothing like her."
"You even wrinkle your nose in the same way when something irritates or annoys you." you point it out, and he chuckles bitterly, shaking his head as he walks over to you. It's not too close, though. After yesterday, he knows better than to try to treat you with the same tenderness as before. Even if he desperately wants to.
"It's been many years since I thought of us as being anything remotely similar... of course, instead of being shadow summoners, immortals, and Morozovas."
"Wait, Morozova? Like... like the stag of Morozova?"
"Yes. Like the stag of my grandfather." he admits, shocking you even more. He watches the gears in your head turn as you uncover the hidden truth, connecting the lies Baghra told you with what he managed to reveal to you about himself.
"So not only are you… a Black Heretic, but you're also Morozova's grandson?"
"Y/N... I know it can seem complicated for you..."
"No! No. Nothing is complicated. You... you created the fold. And now you chase the stag to get its bones so you can amplify your and Alina's power to have full control of the fold. To take control of Ravka and call yourself a king."
"That's... not exactly the truth." he says, taking a step towards you. You automatically move away from him, and he clenches his jaw in frustration and anger at his mother and you for so easily believing Baghra's words.
"And what should I've believed in? You've been lying to me all this time!"
"Telling you half a story is not the same as lying." he defends himself, now staring at you with an equally obstinate gaze as you both stubbornly stick to your opinion.
"Maybe in your point of view, but not in mine." he sighs at your words, running a hand through his hair. You see his shadows hovering in the corners of his chambers as he stares at you in annoyance.
"I do not understand your behaviour. Nothing happened. You know that I was slowly revealing pieces of myself and my past. I guess you didn't expect me to tell you right away that I am... a Black Heretic. That I had lived a hundred lives, that I had to be reborn each time as somebody else to keep my existence in hiding. What other choice did I have?"
"That's the problem, Aleksander, you don't see any other solutions. You go with what is easiest for you." he huffs furiously and walks over to you. You fall back, bumping into a wall.
"Yes, because fawning over the king for hundreds of years to keep my Grisha safe is the easiest thing to do. You have no idea what I went through to give my people what we have now. If it weren't for me, you would be running away from Ravkans, Fjerdans, Shu Hans, and other beasts that want us dead or experiment on us. You don't know what it's like to go hungry, to have no roof over your head, to fear every day for your life and the lives of your loved ones, to see them die, and to bury every single person you have ever cared about. And do you know why? Because thanks to me, Grisha are now treated better than animals." he's now standing exactly a step away from you, breathing heavily with anger as he glares at you defiantly. He doesn't touch you, but you feel his heavy breath on your cheek.
"Creating a golden cage from the fold will not make us safe. You cannot isolate yourself from all evil and danger. You have to fight it. I never thought you were a coward, Aleksander. Don't make me believe you're really someone else."
You manage to push him past so you can walk towards the exit. He grabs your elbow, stopping you from leaving. Not hard enough to bruise, but enough to make you stop right there.
"What are you going to do?" he asks after a moment of heavy silence between the two of you, staring intensely at the back of your head, waiting for any movement from you.
"Nothing. You are still my general. Besides, I doubt anyone would believe me if I tried to tell the world who you really are. And don't worry. I won't tell Alina that you want to claim her power to yourself."
"It's not like that at all…"
"DON'T." you say furiously and sharply, turning to him slowly to meet his gaze. It takes all of your strength to hold back your tears that are also shining in his eyes. “Don't lie to me anymore.”
"Milaya..." he whispers desperatly, trembling as he is reaching to cup your cheek in his hand, but you pull away from him before his fingertips can touch your skin.
"If you want to prove that Baghra lied, that you weren't pretending to be a boy hurt by the world just because you were looking for some sick feeling of comfort or normality from me... if you want to prove that I'm not another Luda for you, someone who only reminds you of your great love, then prove it to me. Prove that you are a better man than Baghra taught you to be and describes you."
"The world needs a monster to change, Y/N, not a saint or hero."
"You are good, Aleksander." you say, taking a step towards him and cupping his cheeks with both of your hands. His beard tickles you a little, but you don't mind as you stroke his skin with your thumbs, keeping those dark, teary irises focused entirely on you. "I see it every time. In your patience with the little Grisha, in your concern for the well-being of each of us, in how sweet and protective you are around the people you care about... in the fact that despite hundreds of years, you still have a fragment of humanity preserved. You don't have to be rough. You don't have to be evil and ruthless. Baghra taught you that you won't survive by showing weakness and taking care of the people you outlive, but you are not like her. You are not a monster. Please don't prove me wrong. Don't prove to me that you don't care who suffers, Ravkans, Fjerdans, or others, as long as you win and achieve your goal, however honourable and glorious it may seem." you whisper the last sentence shakily and tilt his head, pressing a tender kiss to his forehead. You close your eyes for a moment, absorbing his warmth and scent and memorising it.
You finally pull away from him and leave his chambers without looking back. He gives you a longing look and closes his eyes, letting out a shaky breath. His eyes land on the plans spread out on his war table.
And he can't help but wonder: Is everything he has worked for all these centuries worth standing utterly alone at the end of his glorious purpose?
