i feel like almost everything in utena has sort of already been extensively discussed in the last two (almost three) decades of utena's existence (not that there aren't new interpretations to be made, there always are) besides black rose arc (mikage+mamiya+tokiko). which is why they're so much fun to think about. i think the need to read between the lines makes it unfortunately easy to misunderstand or look past obvious stuff if you don't pay attention, but to me it's always been really obvious that mikage's arc is a literal representation of the erasure of queerness in ohtori (society?) by akio/everything he represents. and that's so fucking tragic! nemuro was never able to find a name for his desires. he lived and died as a puppet in the shadows.

#rgu #i think sadly that trigger warning list that people always passed around kind of stunted discussion bc of the assumptions it made #like. i think its okay to say that mikage/nemuro was always in love with mamiya and not tokiko #not that its impossible to interpret him as bisexual (similar to how people see utena as bisexual)#but his love for mamiya is what changed his life (same for utena/her meeting anthy)#one scene i never see people bring up is how #at one point mikage says that attaining eternity wouldn't even make 'her' happy #and then akio questions '''her'' you say?'#the only reason mikage thinks attaining eternity wouldnt even make 'her' i.e 'tokiko' happy is because he just had a conversation #with mamiya where he admitted the whole endeavor was making him unhappy #if anything it would have made tokiko happy to attain eternity and forever preserve her brother like a dead flower #which is what akio does with anthy! so fucked!#ALSO another thing #is that mikage sees utena as tokiko returned #just like how utena meets 'dios' - returned as akio #he claims he will finally beat tokiko - in this place (the dueling arena) - which is kind of foreshadowing utena fighting akio?????#anthy!mamiya says to mikage in the black rose musical:#“You can’t win against her. You will eternally lose to my sister who dwells in your memories.”#or “You will never beat my sister; who dwells in your memories.” in the nozomient translation #which makes so much sense because anthy couldn't believe utena could win against akio either #god i could literally keep going #by read between the lines i mean like how akio actively tries to lie to the audience by saying things like #'mamiya was created for you out of your lingering attachment to tokiko'#of course nemuro/mikage being gay isn't all there is to him bc like always everything in utena has 1000 layers #really love the general theme of becoming static and unchanged forever bc of our attachment to nostalgia/memories/eternity #(re: can't grow up)#tho in mikages case he is literally just a ghost summoned by akio. which the utena sega saturn vn confirms #also definitely people talk about black rose arc (i.e me right now) but i feel like the majority of the fandom kind of side steps it #on tumblr specifically at least?? im not on the fansite forums or discord #rgu meta

#i found this little bee on the walkway :((#they were on the ground like in the middle of a busy place ppl walk and bike #almost all bees i find are already dead but i always move them to the grass anyway #bc it feels so wrong and unholy that a bee corpse is just continiously walked on until it gets mashed into the gravel #but this one was alive so i managed to nudge them up on my hand #and at first they tried to hurry away from me but when they noticed i wasnt doing anything they calmed down #i just like dont know... i couldnt rmbr anything abt which flowers have the right pollen.. nutrients.. that bees need #i do know that they mainly need wild flowers but they barely exist...#i took them to a flower and nudged them onto it but they didnt like that one #and immediately wanted back up on my finger #i walked around a bit and found flowers were another be was already taking a nap on #so i tried putting my bee down on one of those #i hope they could find smth in the flower :(( and omg i wish i had brought my water with me #bc what i rmbr from one insta video i saw recently was that bees walking around on the ground are dehydrated #i hope i gave them a chance putting them on the flower #if i had left them they would've only been trampled :((((#i got so attached to them bc they didnt wanna leave my hand and i had to really coax them onto the flower :(((#i miss them :((( i just hope they're ok now #and if not at least they could die in peace on top of a flower instead of being trampled by filthy humans #photo diary ᯓᡣ𐭩 #i think i shouldve put them on the flower necxt to it??? it looks like it has more stuff on it?#idk i just tried to put them on different flowers but this was the only flower they wanted to stay on :/// poor bee

So I decided to restart my animal crossing new leaf for the 3ds file completely but I didn't know that Tom Nook would OFFER TO BUY the entire town and let you carry over the money to the new town and it's hysterical because the mayor basically peaces out, cashes in on 30 million bells, changes entire identity, and accidentally becomes the mayor in a new town. There's a fanfic there but I'm too lazy to write it.

#rose and rambles #HELLO????#i did not know that tom would offer to buy AND I DID NOT EXPECT MY TOWN TO BE WORTH 30 MILLION BELLS NOT INCLUDING MY CATALOGUE AND #THE INTEREST I'LL GET FROM GETTING THE BELLS IN INCREMENTS #MAKING THE FINAL TOTAL CLOSE TO 39 MILLION #WOWZER #okay also i did think long and hard about this #like i never have restarted that town #but it was overrun with flowers and i wasn't close to any of the villagers but wolf link #and i can get him again #i needed a blank slate #i do this with farming sims all the time #i restart so often because once i get into late game i have no gumption and animal crossing *is* different #but i really needed that fresh start and it felt better to restart new leaf than horizons #but the funny thing is #i now want to restart new horizons more than ever #i just haven't really touched it since 2020 #i never did the pumpkin growing thing im so behind #and every time i think about going back to it i just feel dead #but restarting new leaf has been so fun and refreshing #and its only end of day two BUT i have so much bells to burn on projects #so i can get the foundations of things like bridges and stuff right away and continue through my house loans more organically #idk i feel good #and i might prefer restarting horizons in the future with knowledge of things and #with all the updates already figured out #feels good #also my starter villagers in this new town are #fauna peanut eloise sparro and rooney and im so heckin thrilled #best line up ive ever had in the beginning

Just came to the belated and unfortunate (?) realization that Esteban Flores's full name technically means "flower crown" in English.

#thylacines can talk #faaf au #i love this au very yummy. a very fun twist on how Flower's dynamic with their parents would progress afterwards #the vessels live but the void exits their bodies in quite a violent manner (extreme pain and literally throwing up an entire person worth of #void). Flower was on guard duty and theyre found barely conscious in a pool of rapidly evaporating void. passes out seconds later #PK also had the displeasure of experiencing extene pain and burning as void forced its way out through his skin <3 And his moulds all melted #and evaporated. after the initial shock wears off theyre hit with “Oh No #the vessel“ and rush to find them. Well somebody else was already looking for the royal pair about this #Flower wakes up dazed and in pain in their father's workshop. their stomach hurts their throat burns and they feel lightheaded. the entire #place is considerably brighter than they remember and in they can hear two faint voices in the background but theyre too preoccupied with #examining their now pure white hand in shock to focus on anything else. until they hear their mother say “My wyrm they're awake” and #suddenly their parents are by their side. Now the two have no idea what void leaving their body might have done to them. Are they still #hollow? are they still dead? do they understand anything are they sentient? or was what was done pernament even without the void? do they #have the mind of a child if their sentience was restored? or do they remember anything? So WL stays by their side and helps them sit up #while their father goes to grab his tools. She's trying to keep them calm and comfort them but theyre still too disoriented to pay her much #attention. Until their father checks their breathing and they yelp audibly from the cool metal contacting their skin and suddenly they seem #much more alert. theyve never experienced true coldness before. PK quickly apologises and tries to be gentler with them. Theyre breathing #properly and they have a heartbeat. And he just pauses for a long while just. listening to their heart beating. Many emotions to be had #after the exam's over he asks them point blank how theyre feeling. And Flower looks up at him still seeming a little disoriented. and then #they lower their hand to their stomach and mutter 'My tummy hurts...a-and my throat burns'. It's to be expected after the way the void #left their body. so he goes to grab them some water and meds and they also ask for food and a mirror. And after he returns they just stare #at themself in the mirror and pull on their bangs for a while then blurt out 'I have your eyes' when PK asks if everything's okay. And he #and he almost chokes up as he replies 'Yeah...Yeah you do'. Flower eventually spins a lie that they remember everything but its all distant #and blurry. Like they were not aware until now. They figured it'd be better to not break their hearts #And now the three have to figure out how to be a family while PK is also scrambling to find a new solution to the infection #oops i meant to only give a brief rundown in the tags which is why it was in the tags. but i got too invested KDHDKFB

Valeria, Farah and Laswell Reacting to a Bug

Valeria: She definitely just kills the bug. She doesn’t have the time for something as stupid as some bug and doesn’t really care much for it either. If it was up to her, then all bugs would be dead whenever she comes near them. They’re small pests, doesn’t matter if they’re good for the environment or not. She’ll kill a wasp as much as she’ll kill a ladybug, she doesn’t see any difference in bugs. They’re all stupid, worthless and annoying and are better off dead.

Farah: She takes the bug outside. Farah can appreciate animals. While she may not be the biggest fan of bugs, she doesn’t hate them either. They’re such small creatures in such a big, hateful world. No, she won’t kill them. Although she won’t feel bad for squashing bugs either if she does so by accident. However, they’re usually deserving of life, as long as they aren’t being nuisances. But even then she’ll show them mercy and be nice to them. Besides, some of them look cool. Laswell: I wouldn’t say she freaks out per se, but she does get uneasy around some bugs. She’s been around the world, she’s likely been stung by some wasps or bees and knows that they can be little shits if they feel threatened. Or if they just feel like it. Laswell will flinch a bit whenever a wasp comes near her, but, as I’ve said, she doesn’t really freak out too much. If she can kill the bug, that’s fine, but if it flies outside she won’t complain either. She’s probably killed a stink bug before and figured out the hard way why they’re called stink bugs.
