Bokuto wasn’t one to get embarrassed that easily. Sure, he did embarrassing things but didn’t know they were embarrassing. They were part of his boyish charm, which people loved about him…right? Of course, they did. He was Kotaro Bokuto. He was Fukurodani’s ace, and the people loved him for it. So why, if he was so confident, did he get awkward and embarrassed around you, his pretty classmate?

Saying you were gorgeous was an understatement. He couldn’t find the right words to describe you to his friends, mainly Akaashi. “She’s just like, y’know? And I’m like, oh damn! She’s cute as fuck!” Boktuo would make various gestures with his hands as he and Akaashi sat on the steps leading to the gym, sipping cola from the vending machine. “What do I do, Akaashi? She’s so pretty, and I’m pretty too! The only problem is that everyone else in our year thinks so, too…do I even have a shot?”

Akaashi would offer him a pitiful smile, rubbing his back in assurance. “Well, isn’t she one of the smartest in our year?”

“Yeah, smart and pretty. She’s so fucking perfect, I wish you could see her.” he pouted.

“Well, the answer is simple,” Akaashi said, standing up and stretching his arms above his head. Ask her for help with homework; god knows you need it.”

“Hey! I got a 41 on my chemistry test!” Bokuto yelled at Akaashi as the setter entered the gym. But he did have a point, like always. Bokuto decided then and there that he would ask you to tutor him tomorrow, no matter how anxious he was. Anxiety was for suckers anyway.

“Hey, wait up!” Bokuto ran after you as you exited your classroom, papers flying out of his messy bookbag that was riddled with stains from only God knows what. “I gotta ask you a question!”

You stopped walking and turned your heel, raising an eyebrow as the Fukurodani captain barreled towards you. “Hey, what’s up, Bokuto? How’s volleyball going? Are we headed to nationals?” you asked, placing a hand on your hip. God, even the way you held yourself was perfect. Were you an actual goddess, or was Bokuto just lovestruck?

Bokuto finally caught up to you, leaning against the hallway walls in an attempt to appear suave and put-together. His messy uniform didn’t help his cause, but he forgot to look neat today. And every day after that. “Uh, I was wondering if you understood what we were assigned in English yesterday? I don’t understand any of it to save my skin, hah,” He rubbed the back of his neck, looking down at his shoes. “Did you get what our teacher was saying?”

“Yeah, it was really simple. Just basic grammar and syntax structures. Was it complicated for you?” you tilted your head to the side.

“I don’t really get it. Wanna tutor me at my house today? I can get you snacks!” he offered you a crooked smile, leaning forward so his golden eyes peered into yours. “C’mon, please? The coach will kick my ass if I don’t get my grades up, and I have a game next week! Pretty please?” he folded his hands in prayer, his bottom lip in a childish pout.

You smiled and nodded, grabbing him off the wall. Bokuto blushed at the sudden contact, noticing how neat you kept your fingernails compared to his own. Yours were neatly polished to perfection while he bit his nails almost constantly, and being a wing spiker didn’t come with having good-looking nails. 

“Where’s your house? Is it walking distance?” you let go of his hand, much to Bokuto’s dismay. 

“Yeah, it’s about five minutes from here. Wanna stop at a convenience store on the way? I’m really hungry.” he rubbed his stomach as you two walked out the nearest exit, your messenger bag dangling over your shoulder. 

“Only if you’re paying,” you joked, rubbing his shoulder. Bokuto could have sworn his heart stopped right then and there. Were you actually flirting with him, or were you just really touchy? Either way, it was a win in his book. 

“Sure, I don’t mind. Anything for a pretty girl like yo-” Bokuto stopped his sentence, smacking his hand over his mouth. “I-I mean, why wouldn’t I mind? I’m a captain, after all. It’s my job to provide for my teammates!”

“But I’m not on any sports teams. I’m not your teammate.” you deadpanned, 

“You know what I mean!” Bokuto whined, wiping his forehead of the sweat that was slowly starting to gather. “Damn, it’s a hot one today. Why won’t they let the guys wear shorts? Do they want us to die of heat stroke or something?”

“I honestly have no idea,” you sighed, walking under the shade of the convenience store roof. “Wait a minute,” you instructed, placing your messenger bag on the hot pavement. You shrugged off your school blazer and wrapped it around your waist tightly in an attempt to cool you off. You also rolled up the sleeves of your white blouse, loosening your collar. “Sorry, I’m just really warm. At least we get to wear skirts, right?” you offered him a lopsided smile.

Bokuto’s heart pounded in his chest. “Uh, yeah, you girls are so lucky. Wearing skirts must feel awesome.”

“It’s awesome until you catch someone trying to look it up,” you mumbled in annoyance, hoisting your bag over your shoulders. 

“What the actual fuck? Who was it? I’ll murder them! I'll text Konoha too; he’ll definitely want in on it,” Bokuto clenched his fists together, walking into the store with you. “I’m sorry that happened to you, honestly.

You shrugged your shoulder and rummaged through the ice cream pin, choosing a passionfruit-flavored ice bar. “It’s fine, don’t worry about it. I barely know you, anyways.”

“That doesn’t mean that I can’t protect you from jerks like that guy,” Bokuto angrily shoved his hands in his pockets, tapping his foot on the tile. He fished about 400 yen out of his pocket and handed it to the cashier, ushering you out of the shop as quickly as possible. 

“What was that for?” you asked, unwrapping the popsicle. 

“I didn’t like how he looked at you, that’s all.” Bokuto huffed. He made grabby motions for your bookbag, which you handed to him with a confused look on your features. “Let me carry that, please. You’re too pretty to carry heavy stuff around like that all day.”

You paused your walk and stared at Bokuto, blushing softly. “You think I’m pretty?” 

Bokuto slowly nodded and gave you a crooked smile, blushing in turn. “Yeah, I really do. I was afraid to tell you before, but now I’m all fired up. I wanna protect you from creeps, y’know?”

You popped the ice treat out of your mouth and stepped forward, smiling softly. “We barely know each other, and you want to keep me safe? We haven’t even hung out once.”

“We’re heading to my house right now, aren’t we?” Bokuto shrugged, his blush not fading. 

You chuckled and took another step forward, the tips of your noses brushing against each other. “Yeah, I guess we are,” you whispered, your lips dangerously close to his own. “You know, I always thought you were kind of cute. In the athletic kind of way, I suppose.”

Bokuto dropped the bags he held onto the hot concrete beneath you, praying they wouldn’t roll down the hill you were standing on. You two were in a remote location, and the tension was thick. “You think I’m cute?” he tilted his head to the side, his eyelids dropping halfway. 

“Mhm,” you purred, your popsicle dripping from the intense heat. “Super cute.”

“Fuck,” Bokuto’s hands hovered above your waist, unsure of what you wanted him to do. “Uh, is it okay if I kiss you? Please, cutie?” he quietly pleaded, your lips basically touching at this point. 

You smiled and nodded, holding your melting popsicle behind your back. “Mhm, it’s okay.”

Bokuto smiled as his lips interlocked with yours for a minute, savoring the sweet passionfruit flavor that coated them. His hands squeezed your waist childishly, never wanting this moment between the two of you to end. This kiss was exactly how he dreamed it would be, soft and perfect. Just like you.

You pulled away after a bit and giggled, your popsicle having since fallen onto the heated pavement. Your sticky hands cupped his face, the pads of your thumbs running over his defined cheekbones. “You’re a good kisser,” you pecked his forehead bravely. “Like, a really good kisser.”

“Same to you, cutie,” his hands left your waist, choosing to instead secure your wrists. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that. So. Fucking. Long.”

 A chuckle escaped your lips as your hands fell to your waist again, intertwining your fingers with Bokuto’s. You had never notified it before, but he was much bigger than you. It made you feel safe and secure. Protected. “We should probably get to your house to study, shouldn’t we?” 

“Aw, I was having so much fun kissing you on the sidewalk!” Bokuto pretended to whine, kicking a loose pebble that was in his way. He easily picked up the bags with his spare hand and tossed them over his broad shoulder. 

“Tell you what,” you squeezed his hand. “For every question you get right, I’ll give you a kiss. Does that sound like a fair deal?”

“Hell yeah, it does!” Bokuto kissed you on the cheek in excitement. He practically skipped to his house with you in tow, excited for what the rest of the day would have in store.

I love babies, so i wanna talk about beasty babies!

Riddle is a headgehog creature in my mind, so I’m picturing him helping his baby through the itchies of growing in their quills since they’re not born with them (thank goodness!) taking a bristle brush and helping scratch their little backs so gently, and the lotions do they don’t end up with any irritations! Once the baby has their quills fully grown in he calms down, but until then he’s a nervous wreck!

I can only see Trey as a centaur since a friend said it, so picture a half centaur baby, maybe just the two legs like a faun. Since they’re half human I feel they would take longer to walk and run and stuff, but they would sit up super fast. Trey and his family keep trying to help baby stand when they’re still too little and he’s such a worried papa!

Leona is like « I’m not a kid person, I don’t wanna be a dad » as he’s playing tea party with his cubs. No more than two, honestly wanted only one but somehow ended with twins. Tries to lick them but they always cry cause his tounge hurts! But eventually they try to lick him and his heart melts.

Jack is petrified during every moment of his child’s life, that one who is like « don’t climb that! Be careful! I CANT look ! » wants to bubble wrap all of his pups up so none can get hurt! And don’t get him started on shots! He can’t be in the room with them during, so good luck to you!

Azul probably doesn’t have kids till a bit later than everyone else, so he’s atleast got a lot of second hand knowledge, that all goes out the window when his babe is born. That baby has him wrapped around each tiny tentacle! He’s still a big powerful boss man, but he’s very strict now on coming home on time to be the soft sweet daddy man he is also meant to be.

I feel the twins stay so close their own kids think they’re actually siblings! They call the other dad « uncle daddy » and it’s a tight knit group! Floyd always is there with a game, or roughhousing to get any excessive energy out, while Jade is there to help with mental stimulation with board games, or reading! Family hikes/swims become weekly activities, and the kids all love it. It also gives the other parents a break from the gaggle of children (that includes the Leech twins!)

Kalim is a cockatoo harpy, so happy and excited to be here! His baby and him sing from birth, or…Kalim says they’re singing but really they’re just babbling back to him. I think Kalim ends up only having one or two kids, he remembers not seeing his parents much, and how he never got to know all of his siblings that well and how even though it was a full house, he was lonely. He wants to give his all to a few babies, since he’s grown up quite a bit now.

Jamil doesn’t want kids unless he’s free, so he and Azul both end up having kids a bit later. Only after he’s free, and gone through enough therapy to start speaking with Kalim again will he think of having kids. He and Kalim are on speaking terms, but Jamil is still keeping his distance, until the babies are born, then he’s calling Kalim every two minutes to ask questions, completely forgetting that Kalim is a different species! Naga Jamil for life! Bet his babies all inherited his beautiful hair.

Idia also seems like he has to warm up to kids, but he remembers how much he loved hanging with Ortho and wants to provide that for some kids. He ends up adopting I bet cause he doesn’t want to pass his flame hair down, adopts a pair of siblings, who torment him day in and day out. But he loves them! And besides, he has enough legs to hug you, Ortho and those two with some to spare!

Malleus is ready for babies the second you say hello to him, he’s down bad! Wants atleast two since he was lonely as a kid. Since he’s king now, he does have to keep up airs sometimes, but his kids know when he is King Draconia of Briar Valley vs King Daddy of PillowFort Land! I bet they sneak into cabinet meetings and sometimes you can hear a small giggle, or see the movement of the table cloth, but by the end they’re all asleep, snuggled up on papa Malleus’s tail.

Lilia could take or leave kids, but if he had to choose he would want to adopt again! Ends up basically running an orphanage, full of laughter and smiles. Really it’s more of a foster home since he does try to find better families for them, but while they’re with him they’re all family! How he can handle 50+ kids, be close with them all, have all of their likes, dislikes, hobbies, friends, teachers, enemies and everything else memorized you’ll never know. He loves all the kids, and helps them grow into their best selves! Many still return to hang out and catch up after they’ve left the home and he always gets a bit teary eyed seeing them go, but he’s so proud of them!

Sebek has one child, a spit fire from birth! An angry baby who yells right back at Sebek whenever he tries to scold them. Says yucky to Sebek’s Malleus painting and Sebek cries in the corner. Eventually the kid gets over the terrible toddler years, but still a stubborn kid, who only listens to their other parent! Sebek and his kid are fighting for your affection 24/7 including back stabbing, black mailing, and somehow a glitter bomb.

I like a lot of these, I think with the getting shots thing though Jack has to leave the room cuz he's unintentionally scaring the doctor and growls at doc if the kid makes a sound of pain/cries during.

"#he can’t be a simple mortal#gale cleven" reminds me of the angel au, which is my fav of all of your ideas (though there's tough competition in there!), and those tags got me wondering if you'd like to talk more on that au? for example, what would buck and bucky's interactions look like? if gale can't be seen or talk to john, how would john become aware of him? (i have high hopes for your creativity in that matter, given the beautiful liminal spaces you created in reverie) also, can gale look for emotional support from angel friends when things start going sideways? and who are the higher-ups who assign him to john? and as for john, when/if he becomes aware of gale, what does that do to his belief system and his many superstitions? (so many questions, feel free to ignore any or all of them, i'll keep waiting patiently for the story, no worries)

From the ethereal plane, Gale is able to interact with the human plane in various ways, mainly through nature (wind, warmth etc.), sensations (a caress), chance (creating "coincidences" for example) and suggestions that the human interprets as their own thoughts. He can also attune himself to particular humans and sort of listen in on their thoughts. Some angels are better at these, others are not so talented.

The problem with Bucky is that his previous guardian fucked up and Bucky is now resistant to angelic influence. He ignores it or straight-up acts against it. After a while, Gale figures out that Bucky only responds to humans. So, he has to appear as a human too.

Gale also hugs and touches Bucky a lot from the ethereal plane. Whenever Bucky is particularly lonely or upset. It’s a calming sensation that helps Bucky breathe/sleep/cry, whichever he needs. He doesn’t feel it as a touch and it's different for Gale too. Gale is not used to touch on the human plane and he would shy away from it at first.

Gale has angel friends. The most important one is Benny. They meet up sometimes, talk about their humans and race each other flying. Gale is also higher ranking than a lot of other angels and he can give orders to lower ranking ones.

I haven't decided about Gale's higher ups yet. Probably OC versions of actual angels. This is a challenge I need to figure out for the ending of the story.

Excellent question about Bucky's belief system - my current hc is that he developed his superstitions in the first place because of the botched job his previous guardian did. Basically, Bucky tuned in on the angelic influence and started to try to make sense of it and take control of it. A part of him feels triumphant when he learns the truth, there's a sense of knew it! in his mind. But he also feels like a huge gap opened between him and Gale and it devastates him. He plummets into despair because he doesn’t Gale the angel, only Gale the human.

The storyline and the details of this world are still a work in progress, but these are my current ideas. Thanks for the ask! 🩷

how explicit is the sexual themes? cause it's an 18+ game and it's tagged as erotic on itch... but like is it vague steamy descriptions? or skippable? or like full playable action-by-action sequence?

which Catholic Adjacent cults are referred in there? (im trying to avoid one for personal reasons, so i just want to make sure before i start playing)

hey! Any erotic scenes will be fully skippable + a fade to black option, but if you choose to read through the detailed scene it is fully explicit, fully detailed intimate scenes depicting sexual acts.

Any of the cults mentioned in the game are fictional—so like no real life cults, but with influences from real life religions. The Catholic adjacent cult in the game is fully one I made up that has to do with Vampires.

Self harm is primarily ED (particularly binge eating/purging and extreme restriction) related stuff, but it’s also the main character doing things to harm themselves in an indirect way (if that makes sense?) for ex. Like the main character doing or not doing something to take care of themself as a form of subconscious punishment but there’s also like more explicit stuff like punching a wall for example. Both of these however can be avoided through character customization/choices. There is some self flagellation stuff in relation to the Abrams Family/and Hollis’ character but I’ll make a more explicit post explaining that when the time comes.

Other than @oh-shtars, what would you say is your favorite Wish AU? Or top favorites?

OMG niceeee my first ask! Thanks for the question Anon!

I think everyone knows by now that I'm a huge fan of @oh-shtars's AU. The whole concept behind the story is super interesting and different from most rewrites that I have read. I think I'm just a sucker for the whole "celestial being gets imprisoned" trope (the only other Wish Rewrite that I've seen incorporate this idea was this Youtube video).

Besides the RFTS!AU, I absolutely adore @annymation's KOW!AU. I remember when the first chapter of the rewrite was posted on Tumblr. I followed the production of the story ever since. The story as a whole was just so well written (definitely one of the best fan pieces I have read in a while). Anny, you are such a talented writer! I hope you continue to publish any other projects you work on because your work is wonderful!!

I remember also being super invested in @gracebethartacc's RTS!AU. I always loved the artist's use of color and the way they incorporated little animatics into their AU. I especially loved that plot point where Star gets tricked into giving away his powers to become human. And then 2 seconds later he's like: "Oh man... I messed up". Also really liked the character designs and the interactions between Asha and Star.

Now that I'm kinda back into the fandom, I'm learning about all these new rewrite AUs. Everyone is so talented! Honestly, I think the Wish Rewrite fandom is one of the most wholesome fandoms I've seen in a while.

Gray sheets curled around your legs like twisting vines. A thin layer of sweat covered your entire body, yet somehow you were still freezing. You tossed and turned in the king sized bed, your body betraying you as no position was comfortable. You lifted your head for barely a second to search for your boyfriend, who should have been home by now. However you immediately laid your head back down, already feeling dizzy from just the slight movement.

As your weary eyes scanned the room you saw a faint glow from behind the bathroom door. Meaning that either you had forgotten to turn the lights off, or Bruce was home. Almost a minute later you got your answer. The bathroom door slid open, spreading light into the dim bedroom. Bruce, the ever attentive man he was, immediately noticed your awoken state.

“Did I wake you up?” His low raspy voice asked, laced with concern. There would have been no obvious indicator to any outside observer that Bruce had been fighting in the streets merely hours ago, other than some stubborn eyeshadow that stuck to his waterline, and well hidden bruises that covered his body in a mix of blueish purple and yellowing brown. You look at him with a pout, tears welling in your painfully dry eyes.

“No.” You croaked. “Are you hurt?” You coughed into your fist, feeling like your throat might collapse. Bruce made an unreadable face before approaching you in the bed.

“I’m fine.�� He assured you quickly. An unspoken question hung in the air. ‘Are you?’ Instead of responding you turned onto your side, your position once again turning uncomfortable. “You’re sick.” He points out the obvious. “I’ll sleep on the couch.” You groan, craving your boyfriend’s naturally cool body temperature. He smiles, just slightly and crawls into the bed beside you, keeping a fair distance. You frown at the separation but continue contorting your body to find a position that doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

Eventually you settled yourself with your back pressed against Bruce’s side. You slipped in and out of sleep, each time you regained consciousness you were more tired than the last. After one thankfully long session of sleep you woke with an intense tremor that had your eyes welling with tears from the pain your own body inflicted upon itself. “Shh, you’re okay.” Bruce’s soft words washed over you like a cool tide. His cold hand ran down your arm, then back up to your shoulder, then to the back of your neck. You shivered, yet the feeling was addictively relieving. “Are you awake?” You nodded. “Want me to get you a glass of water?” You debated in your head if the feeling of his chilled hands on your boiling body was worth more than water to you. After a minute you nodded again. “I’ll be right back.” He pressed a chaste kiss to your shoulder and walked out of the room quietly. In his absence you threw your blankets off of yourself and weakly make yourself to the bathroom to find some tissues.

You’re still standing in the bathroom, trying to regain enough strength to make it to the bed, when Bruce comes back. He holds in his hands your large blue water bottle filled with ice water. “Come back to bed.” He urges.

“I will.”

“Here.” Without a second warning he grabs your waist and half carries you to your shared bed. He doesn’t get in until he senses that you’re comfortable, then he climbs in after you. “You’ll be okay.” He assured again. “I’ll be here when you wake up.”

Well, to be honest, it’s wonderful, but exhausting. We have 5 of our children with us on earth, but with the amount of chaos that can ensue on a daily basis it’s like having all 6…and then some 🙄. Let me put it into perspective for you, Violet and I have 5 earthbound kids…5 kids that look, act, and talk like their parents. 

Now, I love Violet, and obviously I’m pretty amazing myself, but we have 5 clones of ourselves that are running around. I’m a former villain for crying out loud…mischief and chaos is in their blood! And Violet is a sassy, little whirlwind who won’t keep her mouth shut and does and says what she wants when she wants…and our children do too. We can’t go through a week, sometimes a day, without at least one child ending up in timeout or grounded for their behavior. 

But, thankfully, they are receptive to the discipline, and they are honestly great kids. I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Violet and I have made beautiful, intelligent, creative, and caring kids. They are little terrors when they want to be, but they, and Violet, are my world. 

Although it’s cute, I don’t call them my nuggets. I actually have individual nicknames for each of them. Alexandria’s nickname was/is Alex. Varina’s nickname is Vari. Vera’s nickname is Ve. Victor’s nickname is Vic. Vallen’s nickname is Val. And Victoria’s nickname is Victory. I also call them other nicknames depending on my mood, but these are the most frequent ones I use. And, when I do refer to them as a group, I call them my little varmints or the Varmitech Crew.

Part 2: A Dream of an Autumn Garden

As I said on the other photoset, I'm very happy & proud of him! I'm happy I decided to take my time to get him just how I wanted & edit the photos I took nicely. I hope you all love him too. Sweet dreams~

I have included a bunch of Cool Facts about how I made him under the cut if you are so inclined!

Started: Late Jan 2022 / Finished: Dec 30 2022

Approx work hours- 273 hours (worked on average every 3rd day out of 274 days; averaged 3h/session)

Times I remade something because I messed it up/wasn't happy with it: Hands- 2; Feet- 2; Head- 2.5; Body- 1; Clothes: 3

Pattern: trial, error & determination

Height: 3ft tall

Materials:

stretch jersey knit (body)

polyfill (stuffing)

brushed out acrylic yarn (hair)

star sapphire x2 (eyes)

pipe cleaner (hand armature)

wooden dowels/18 gauge wire (elbow/arm skeleton that keeps snapping I may add)

acrylic paint/pastels (shading & details)

acrylic thread (body sculpting & upper eyelashes)

stretch velvet/velvet burnout, cotton (clothes)

Fun facts:

his look was inspired by his overall appearance in the comics; I particularily like the depictions done by Jill Thompson, Mike Dringenberg & Marc Hempel!

his arms and legs are jointed in the same way as many teddy bears are: you use a washer, nut & bolt to butt-up the limb against the body internally and it gives the limbs full rotation. First time I have tried the method and it's definitely something I'll try again!

I had no idea how I was going to do the inset eyes, but I was determined to have them as some sort of stone. I had to redo his first head completely because I cut too far in! Eventually I got it to work by creating a "backcushion" with clay for the stones, and then closed and sculpted the eyelids overtop to secure them in.

You can't see in most of my photos but his eyes are star sapphire: when light hits them correctly, it causes a ✨to appear just like his eyes in the comics~!

making his hand & feet were a challenge, especially thinking about where to put the needle through to sculpt tendons, nails, etc (and also deciding how detailed to get without looking strange). I think I learned a lot tho and I'm very proud of the hands

my favorite sculpted parts are the collar bone/chest, the right hand & the nose~

because the skin is white, he gets very dirty with his black clothes, so I had to line all of them in white. He also has to soak in bleach once in a while to maintain his complexion (LOL)
