“no els, it was 1 cup of sugar!” you quickly swatted your girlfriend’s hand away, making sure she didn’t ruin all the hard work from the afternoon.

when maria told you about her plans to throw tommy a little surprise party for his birthday, you immediately took it upon yourself to take care of some baked goods. thursdays meant free afternoons for you, free of any chores, which gave you some time to get to work on one of your favorite desserts of all time; red velvet cake.

either there was a catch; thursdays didn’t only mean free afternoons for you, but also for your girlfriend, and the two of you rarely spent any of that precious, free time not together. so when you told ellie that you were gonna spend your afternoon in the kitchen, baking a cheesecake for tommy’s birthday, there was no way she wasn’t going to be right on your tail.

you thought it could be fun, baking with her. although you had tried many times to get her to help you in the kitchen with anything, it wasn’t really her cup of tea. but the idea of you working away on a delicious, sweet red velvet cake, and her missing the chance to steal some every now and then, must’ve convinced her to be your right hand that day.

“hmm- ‘m sorry, baby. i thought it was 2 cups.” she gave you a sheepish smile, before putting down the cup and cleaning up the sugar that spilled on the counter when you swatted her hand away earlier. you got back to work on the cake, looking back at the recipe every now and then to make sure you got the right ingredients and measurements, you really didn’t want to mess this one up.

you thought, after her little moment with the sugar, she would retreat herself back in the living room, but none of that. a couple moments went by before you felt a pair of slender arms circling your waist, swaying the both of you to the background music that was playing in the kitchen. “can’t you take a break, baby? you’ve been working so hard this afternoon. need’ya to get some rest too, hmm?” you leaned your head back against her chest, rethinking her words. it had been a couple hours, and ellie was probably right, but you couldn’t really take a break right now. not when tommy’s birthday party was in less than 24 hours, and you wouldn’t have much time to finish it tomorrow.

“i can’t, baby. just give me another hour or so, okay? i promise i’ll be all yours then.” ellie didn’t reply, but she nuzzled her face in the crook of your neck, definitely not planning on leaving anytime soon. her current position meant that whenever you tried to move around the kitchen, you’d have her body to carry around with you. it was normal for ellie to get this clingy on your day off. throughout the other days of the week you both got quite busy, whether it was patrol or any other tasks in jackson, you were both very often first in line, always eager to help out the community. that meant you often went a whole day without seeing each other, ellie out the door before you got up and your girlfriend already sleeping after a long day from patrol, before you come back from cleaning the stables.

before you could swat her hand away, she dipped her index finger in the sugary batter that was slowly but surely coming together, and swiped it off on the tip of your nose. “ellieee, c’mon baby. gosh you’re so annoying.” you wiped the batter of your nose, before she repeated her action, over and over again all over your face.

“williams, you better stop, before there’s not any batter left for the cake.”

“oh, are we on last name level now?”

“if you keep being such a pain in the ass we will be, yes!”

she tried her luck one more time, flicking some of the sugary delicacy onto your neck. before you could scold her for wasting more of it, she shut you up by lowering her head to your neck and licking it off. you whimpered lowly, slightly taken aback by your girlfriend’s actions.

“not so annoyed anymore now, are we?” ellie pulled her head out of your neck and looked at you with a smug smile, clearly proud of what she just did. you tried to turn around in her embrace but failed, her strong arms picking you up and putting you on the counter, hungrily kissing you.

“it’s only 4pm, we’ve got some time to finish this cake tonight. i bet you taste more sweet anyway.”

It all started when you arrived at Barbieland, nervous but completely in awe of this new world.

Stereo!Barbie was one of the first dolls to greet you, holding your hand and guiding you through the streets to your new house.

‘They’re so cute!’ Barbie thought to herself, completely charmed by your smile and shyness… she really wanted to get to know you better.

And so thought RG!Ken when you walked past the beach. Barbie was still holding your hand, and he was intrigued… who was this new doll she was seeing? He needed to find out.

As time went by, Barbie would visit you daily, bringing small gifts and inviting you to parties… and you would always go!

Ken would also be at those parties, curious about you… the more he got to know you, the more he got obsessed. He loved your laughter, loved the way you danced, and he would always try to join you, succeeding most times.

Barbie began hating when Ken danced with you, something in her screamed ‘NO’ when she saw you two having fun without her. She wanted you to dance with HER, not HIM… was this… jealousy? What a weird feeling.

She then also joined the dance, nailing the choreography while trying to push Ken away, but it didn’t work… Ken would come back stronger than ever, dancing as if his life depended on it (he was trying to impress you).

When the music stopped, Barbie was quick enough to grab your hands and lead you somewhere more private, looking into your eyes before asking: “(Y/N), would you like to stay over?”

Before you could answer, you heard a loud gasp. Turning around, you saw a shocked Ken sneaking in behind you, trying to listen to the conversation.

Ken was stunned because 1. Barbie had never asked him to stay over when they were together, and 2. That meant it was getting serious! And he needed to act fast.

“Sorry, Barbie… (Y/N) can’t stay over at your house tonight, I’m taking them to the beach to have a little date, isn’t that right, doll?”

‘Doll?? Why did he call you that? And a date?? You were going on a date with Ken?? What was going on?!’ Barbie thought.

“Hum…” you managed to start, but you couldn't even protest before Ken tried pulling you away by your arm.

Barbie immediately pulled your other arm, trying to get you to stay. You felt like they would split you in half like that, fighting for your attention.

“GUYS…” You finally shouted, making them stop. “The only place I’ll go is home! Goodnight!” Anger filled your voice as you walked away, leaving the two behind.

“Look at what you've done!!” “What I’VE done?? What do you mean??” You could still hear their banter as you exited Barbie’s house, and that irritated you even more.

At your house, hours had passed and you were preparing to sleep when you heard the doorbell ringing.

Opening the door, you were surprised and a little annoyed at the presence of the fantastic duo. Barbie and Ken stood there with sad puppy expressions before she spoke first. “(Y/N)… we’re sorry we hurt you, it wasn’t our intention!”

You gently smiled at her, accepting her apology. Then, Ken started talking as well. “We just… really like you. I… we would like to have more of your attention, if that’s possible…” It seemed a little scripted, but you wondered he and Barbie had agreed on something to say... and that was cute. Besides, what did he mean by ‘really like you’, after all?

“Oh, guys… it’s alright! I promise I’ll equally schedule time for the both of you, is that ok?”

They looked at each other for a moment and nodded, smiling for their mission was a victory! You’d spend more time with them separately, it’s everything they could have asked for.

“Now… are you gonna stand there or come inside?” You teased, and their smiles grew wide before racing to your door.

🎆 🥂 𝐻𝒶𝓅𝓅𝓎 𝒩𝑒𝓌 𝒴𝑒𝒶𝓇!!! 🥂🎆

*cue piano music* another year is gone and I know no one asked for this but I wanted to take the opportunity to do a little recap and also give shoutouts to some lovely people 🥺  

It’s been a rollercoaster of a year, both for me personally and also regarding the content that came out. We got some amazing stuff but sadly there was also a lot of less amazing stuff and ultimately, the quantity > quality tendency dominated once again. 2022 was the year where I decided to take a few steps back in terms of my watchlist; I have come to the realization that the more stuff I watch, the more stressed I get - both regarding the pressure of always being up to date with everything, but also the pressure of creating content around said shows. Which might be a ridiculous thing to think but I usually have a feeling of insufficiency when it comes to my content. Which is why I put a few things on the backburner this year. Additionally I have also realized I’m not willing to put up with shows anymore that are not 100% to my satisfaction. Hate-watching is something I somewhat enjoyed before and admittedly there were a few shows that I watched despite not liking them (like unforgotten night or OMSN) which was mostly due to the amusement of making fun of them lmao. But I ended up finding a lot more joy in putting my whole focus on the few shows I genuinely enjoy, instead of watching an abundance of mediocre stuff on the side. Which was why the variety of content on my blog was a little limited this year. 

I took a 3 month trip to Thailand where, amongst other things, I emerged myself into the on-site fan culture and got to see a bunch of actors close-up and while that was an incredible experience, it made me realize how insanely commercialised this industry really is and how exhausting it must be for these people to always appear at these events with perfect smiles and what not. which was also part of the reason why I stepped back. I don’t want to make this sound overly dramatic but that was the vibe I got when I was there. oh and also don’t forget that time where I got shadowbanned from tumblr for almost 1 month and thought I would never get my blog back... good times 😬 

However despite all, I loved creating content for the things I was passionate about over the past year and I’m looking forward to making more in the next one!

I’m gonna post a personal top10 of the shows I watched this year shortly after this post goes up. Until then, I want to talk a bit about some of my favorite people this year - I’m not good with words lmao but thank you for being you and for making this hellsite a better place djkghdf 💜

I’m the “Draft Dodgers for Rodgers” anon and I’ve read your additions like 3 times now I loved them so much! I’m really touched at how much thought you put into this silly idea (who would direct and the soundtrack) and your knowledge of football trivia 🥰 You’re totally right that TSwift would be a valuable piece to the movie considering she’s popular and Aaron is a massive Swiftie, although idk much of her music. Also you’re right that no Rodgers movie would be complete without the gunslinging icon Jordy Nelson who caught 1/5 of AR’s touchdown balls. My favorite radio stations. 💖😙💗🥰🎶📻🎵

91.3 RSU college radio. I have been listening to them for about 15 years. 💗 (as long as I've lived in Oklahoma and for the brief couple of years I did not I still streamed them online daily!) Always plays the best new indie and has amazing weekly programming blocks for punk rock, Latin alternative, metal, oldies (sockhop Saturday morning! One of my favorite blocks!), bluegrass, folk, psychedelic, lofi, hip hop, dance, country, reggae, even grateful dead has their own block, throwback blocks to 00s/90s/80s/70s/60s and just everything good! I will always love this station!

One FM 91.3 Singapore i found by accident when trying to get rsu on a smart speaker. A happy accident bc now they are one of the only other stations I will play regularly. They are newer. There are virtually no ads, they play great tracks from the 80s 90s and 00s and they are very pleasant when they do have their small talk shows and programing blocks, its also great to hear about Singapore traditions and lifestyles. Their time is different from mine so it is fun they will be talking about going to bed when I'm making breakfast or talking about morning things when its time for bed here and play Saturday night party remixes all Saturday morning and day, the extra long remix Mashup dance tracks are actually a lot of fun so I'm glad!

Irish pub radio is a great one for irish classics and popular Irish artists of today. My family is Irish heritage and I've grown up with this music. They tend to repeat a lot of things but I will put this on when I need my Irish fix or really want to hear the saw doctors. Cead mile failte. 🇮🇪

This is a tough one because I listen to non-english songs more than English songs at times 😂 Well, I'll just list songs that I have a phase on then!

- Certamente by Madreblu. I listen to this song for the first time when it played randomly on YouTube and it changed my life. I listen to this song a lot on my 2nd year of uni especially after a bad day during the clinical posting and it always comfort me.

- Katakoi (One Sided Love) by Akiko Shikata. I have bad memories but I remember that my twin and I have a huge Akiko shikata phase when we are 10 years old for a reason that I don't even remember. She has a lot of bops but Katakoi is a song that always hits me in the feels every single time.

- 위로 (Beautiful Jeopardy) by Nell. I have a lot of Nell songs phase especially the songs in the Slip Away album. But in recent years I didn't really know or listen to new songs because I've been busy and there's too many new songs. This song, however, reminds me why Nell is such a special band in my heart and that song is just so beautiful. I keep on wondering whether I want to put Standing In The Rain or Beautiful Jeopardy on the list but since this song has only Korean lyrics, I decided to go with this song ^^

30. Three songs you really want your followers to know.

There's too many songs that I would like to recommend so I'll just choose songs that I immediately think of then!

- Bolero by TVXQ. (Or Tohoshinki since that's the name they used when they promote in Japan lol). So I am a huge Cassiopeia especially in their OT5 era and I love their songs especially their Japanese songs. Unfortunately people only know their popular songs like Rising Sun, Mirotic or Hug which are bops btw but they have wonderful ballad songs that need more recognition! (I would also recommend My Destiny, 9095 and Heart Mind and Soul!)

- 겨울이 간다 (Goodbye Winter) by Day6. So Day6 is the main reason I survived high school so I barely listen to their old discography now as it reminds me of the horrible past lol But when their songs come out in shuffle, I was blown away and once again fall in love with them (though I still cannot listen to Live Your Life in the same way 😔). This song is one of the first songs of theirs that I listen to and it really makes me sad that it is so underrated. (Will also recommend I Need Somebody, Not Mine, Like a Flowing Wind and Still if this songs are right up your alley!)

- Who Are You? by Bad Omens. This listen comes out in shuffle when I was on the way to my PM shift and I was anxious the whole shift because I can't wait to go back to college and listen to it again lol It's that good, to me at least and that is why its one of my top songs of the year according to YouTube Music (yes, I don't use Spotify cause I don't really like the format and the fact that I can't skip songs too often). I think they are quite underrated so I would like to introduce them to you guys! (Will also recommend Bad Decisions, The Grey and the Death of Peace of Mind!)

🌻 I read a bit of golden stage but I dropped it because the political court stuff is boring and confusing. I have no idea what's happening and who's who except for the main couple. I also dropped silent reading (which I was excited to start because I heard good thing about the author) and one other novel.

The one that I enjoy reading was green plum island and cold sands. The former was a light summer read ^^ while the later got me ugly sobbing and gasping for breath towards the last few chapters skksjsja
