Reverse Engineering the OIAR Tagging System

I'm not the first to theorise that the tagging system is important - this post is inspired by the person who noticed that Needles and Bonzo share both a CAT and an R tag.

This is an incomplete attempt to decode the entire system for theorising purposes. Unfortunately, I was not able to figure it out as thoroughly as I hoped but I'm sharing it here in hope others can make observations. Here is the table:

So, my observations thus far:

CAT (probably short for categories)

There are four categories so far- 1, 2, 3 and 23.

Needles, both Bonzo statements and the very first statement are the only CAT 1s so far.

Needles and Bonzo are likely to be major recurring characters, so this could suggest the creature in the first statement (which to me gives distortion vibes) may also be.

Alternatively, CAT could suggest danger. Needles and Bonzo are serial killers, while the CAT 3 statements tend to refer to very old or contained objects, so perhaps these are less dangerous? The only gap in this theory is InkSoul being CAT 3, which makes little sense given their livestreaming. Unless... could InkSoul be dead?

Generally, but not absolutely, newer statements tend to be closer to CAT 1, and older statements closer to CAT 3. Bonzo and Needles both referred to statements taken days before the episode dropped. Again, this isn't an absolute rule and the first statement is again the odd one out.

What I absolutely cannot figure out is CAT 23. I thought it was a typo until I encountered it again for Ep 11. It clearly means something special. Unlike for the R system, I don't think it means between categories 2 and 3, because the statements we get are both quite important. We'll probably have to wait for more episodes to figure this one out.

R (probably short for rank)

This is the one I'm more sure about. I believe it indicates 'grades' of some measure, like school grades. A is best, B is after that, and so on.

I think AB and BC are borderline grades.

Ep 3 and 4 (plant boy and violin man) do not have an R tag. My working theory is that this indicates the statements are below a grade C.

So what does R actually grade? Again, it could be importance (assuming that isn't what CAT means), or usefulness to the institute, but then why is our known external Mr Bonzo only a B?

So far we have no rank As and only one rank AB - the Red Canary statement.

If there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that the first rank A statement is going to be very big indeed.

Conclusion

I believe category and rank indicates any two out of the following: importance, danger, level of OIAR control, level of usefulness to OIAR, certainty of being true, amount of evidence. Ultimately, we need more statements to be sure.

For whatever two measures these systems represent, I am fairly certain that a category closer to one and a rank closer to A represents a better grade on that measure, with the exception of CAT 23 which I think is its own thing. The ultimate purpose of this post is to encourage people to pay attention to these tags more as I am certain they contain clues, and if anyone smarter than me can spot them as more episodes come out, then great.

PS: As I was just about to post this I had a sudden idea as to what CAT 23 *might* be. It could be dimensional cracks. This is clearly what's going on in the magnus institute (with the dice statement being exempt because it was taken before the institute burnt down) and it's possible the graveyard in Ep 11 also serves this function. This is pure speculation however.

So uhm... I did a thing...

✨Character Info Template✨

Been meaning to do this a long time ago (and actually started it but never finished it, lol) as a way to share some more information about my ocs without needing to use a custom page theme, but mostly because I haven't found any page theme that looks exactly as I want and allows this much customization.

There are two versions and both are almost exactly the same; but the example shown in the left has an 'appearance' section which is small and has few quick facts regarding the oc's appearance; while the example on the right has a 'moodboard' section instead which allows you to add more info about your oc.

You can change every section/title to fit your needs like I did in the examples below; I personally removed some categories as well and got rid of some connections as this oc doesn't have that many close friends/partners to fill the original template. However, I also included an extra separated 'connections' section in the download in case you want to add more people and more information.

I recommend you stick to square-shaped pictures so it's easier to fit them to each section. Also if and when you edit the information or section titles, please select only one line at a time to replace it so you don't lose the text format. (Titles shouldn't change because that's a single format/font within the same text box, but should it change you can always hit ctrl+z hehe) When you're done, I strongly recommend you save this as a .png instead of .jpg so it's the best possible quality!

Last but not least, this is a .psd file. So you'll need either Photoshop (I did this with Photoshop Portable, but it supports newer versions of PS and it *should* support older versions too) or Photopea to open and edit this file.

Layers:

>Each layer is properly named and categorized. The general layers such as the background, the icon shape and background shapes are under the groups.

>If you don't want to see/don't need one of the connections' pictures and information, I recommend you find which one it is (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) and click on the eye symbol next to the layer to hide it so that way if you ever need it, it won't be truly gone.

>To edit a text section, simply find the layer (such as General Information>Left Column) and double click on the 'T' symbol next to the layer. That way it will open edit mode and allow you to edit the text, just don't hit delete or enter while everything is selected or you'll erase it :p

>Main text sections aren't separated, they're blocks of text. [For example, if you want to add a new main oc picture: 1) paste the pic you want, 2) move it with the Move Tool so it's covering the big circle, 3) once you've fully covered the shape (if it isn't you can resize it by right clicking on it then on 'free transform', sometimes you might need to hold shift to proportionally resize it) make sure the newly pasted pic layer is over the layer named "picture goes here", 4) hold the alt key and hover your mouse cursor over the line between your pic layer and the circle layer until you see an arrow going down symbol, once you see it click it and tah dah! your picture should now have the same shape as the circle! - you can further move it if it doesn't fit the way you want with the Move Tool (;

Feelings on Minish Cap?

Minish cap is a stellar game. Very much underappreciated and my top wish for what should get remade in HD. The soundtrack is marvelous and I wish I could listen to it all day but the ~bits~ of the good old gameboy just don't work well with my migraine prone head. I truly hope newer fans get to experience the game in all it's glory sooner than later and it get the attention it deserves!!

I think Minish cap has a very unique identity. It has a lot of familiar things yet many totally new and unexpected sights! It almost feels like a fan game, but in like the best way possible. It's got that indie pixel vibe of something made with love.

...asfjggsjkf sorry this is another love letter ramble. Minish cap has a special place in my heart. It was the first Zelda game I ever played, although at the time I didn't know any english and would just run around the few areas that are open before the first dungeon, and I'd slap grass for fun. I was easy to entertain back then.

Years later I found my old gameboy colour and finally actually played the game. It's a real solid entry in the top-down zelda game world, although it could be just a LITTLE bit tighter in gameplay. Link's awakening and Oracle of Ages just really keep you on the move in a way modern games don't seem to.

Also Minish cap just has the most iconic official art in the franchise.

Basically Minish cap to me is an image of childhood. We're currently in an era for the franchise that's openly pointing out the horror of it's lore. I think it's high time we remember the joy and whimsy of the series too. The games that bring back that feeling of being a kid in the backyard playing heroes! The hero trope exists as a tragedy, but also to inspire us.

PS. to clarify I think the game is incredibly solid as it exists right now and the reason I want it remade is not because the current version needs an overhaul, but because I know a remake would give more people easier access to a game that's marvelous and also I'd cry. If you have a way to play it right now like... Do it, yo. No need to wait for an imaginary product I invented in my brain.

Relight Cracked Tutorial March 2024

Due to the recent paywall behind Relight, I know some of you guys are restricted from having it in your game so today I wanted to share you guys the file and guide you on how to download it and use it in your game! PS: I am using an older version of Gshade (4.1.0) to be exact so the files location may not be accurate. However, if you are using using a newer version of Gshade you can watch this tutorial made by Deary! (You would only need to download the folders from this post and follow her tutorial) To start off, go to here and download two folders called "Shaders" and "Textures"

After downloading you will need to unzip both files.

After extracting the files, your shaders file should have "qUINT_relight.fx" and a "qUINT" file.

Your texture file should have a "bluenoisehi" image in it.

Now, I don't know how to do this for Reshade but it should be the same steps. Find where your "GShade Custom Shaders", (or for Reshade your "addons folder") is located. (For GShade, go to the "Control Panel")

In this file you should have these folders.

Next, put the "qUINT_relight.fx" and a "qUINT" file from the unzip file that you download into the Shaders file, and then put the "bluenoisehi" file from the unzip file into the textures file.

And that's it! You should be able to find the shader in your game when you launch it! I hope everyone enjoy this tutorial and also don't be afraid to shoot me a message if you have any question, happy simming everyone!

Also Alien Challenge lose screen or the KOF 2002um win screen (a that game needs MORE winquotes). If you want a challenge, you could do a Capcom vs game like MSHvSF. If you wanted to try a newer game for once, maybe Melty Blood: Type Lumina.

So I've been hurting my brain thinking about this, and since you seem to be an absolute lore god about this game I thought I'd ask you for theories.

So NSH, out of the 4 canon designs you see in game, has the fanciest clothes of them, I mean he has a scarf and embroidery (I assume based on the sleeves) while the others just have a simple poncho.

Based on SRS' concept art mentioning that they wear a simple poncho to indicate a similar age to Moon and Pebbles, I assumed that NSH maybe was the youngest of the 4 and that newer iterators had more complex clothes. But based on how he speaks about being angsty as well in the begginning, comparing himself to Pebbles current behaviour it makes me think that maybe that wasn't the case. Maybe it's the other way around and older iterator have more complex clothing designs, but then it doesn't make sense how Moon is the group senior and he isn't.

Maybe I am just reading too much into it and it's just a matter of his creators giving him something more stylish.

LORE GOD??? That is so funny that's an insane thing to call me, I'm very honored to receive this title. Though I am just a little guy that loves this game too much!

Anyway sure let's talk about that! I cannot say for certain what ponchos are based on design wise, but I can speculate and in this ramble I will also go over some iterator age shenanigans.

Ramble below!!

Let's go over ages first. Moon is easy to pin point as the oldest in the group. She existed when iterators were few in numbers and has the bad case of "we didn't think that far ahead" so she has some problems.

I'd put Suns after her if we keep the intent of their concept art being a vaguely similar age to LTTM. I think that is a very neat idea and it ties well with their parallels that they have in game. Aside the obvious Sun and Moon dynamic, they are both mentors to Pebbles. (sidetracked but it is quite funny how you could say Pebbles flew too close to the Sun it's quite funny. I would assume that's why SRS is named that)

We have no canon or out of game or pretty much any evidence (as far as I know) for either NSH or CW, but for convenience sake I'll put them after SRS.

Then actually I'd put Pebbles. I know he is often made out to be the youngest iterator and perhaps I am missing something. But even though he is much younger than the rest of the group , given how NSH speaks about him.

And I'd place Innocence as the youngest. She's not important in this exact ramble, because she has no canon design, but I know there are some people that might disagree with me?

The reason I think so is because The House of Braids (That you can see on FP playing Artis campaign) is well on Pebbles. So he needs to exist for the pearl to exist.

And this ancient from the House of Braids has apparently donated all their possessions to that project. The unbuilt UI.

Alright talked about their ages. So clothing? Well I don't have much solid evidence sadly. As underwhelming as that proobably is. You can take it two ways though!

You can discard what is being said on the concept art (as concepts can come and go when creating characters) and say that clothing has nothing to do with when an iterator was made and more so with the individual colony that built them. Colonies can be VERY distinct as we can tell from some of the broadcasts in Spears campaign. It'd make sense.

Or if you want to keep the ages= type of robe concept, you could say FP is an exception as he was made to be in Moon's likeness or by the same colony as Moon. So they wanted them to be similar.

Personally I find it funny if NSH just told his creators that he too wanted to be a fashion icon.

I see the term "carrier" and "parent" be used a lot rather to more usual gendered terms like mother and father (I don't remember if Bruce or Alfred commonly refer to his parents as his mother and father).

Do pup still refer to the parent that carried them during pregnancy as mother/mom and to the other one as father/dad, despite their primary gender? I often see that in a/b/o, like the pregnant parent is referring to themselves as mom no matter if they are a man/woman/other and was wondering about that!

TBH I'm quite curious because I've never read man/woman a/b/o stuffs and I wonder if there was a female alpha with a male omega (him carrying the pups), would he be referred as mom, directly challenging the norms of our society... Anyway! Food for thoughts <3

Hi friend! I'm doing okay. Just trying to get through the week, you know?

My goal in writing this fic specifically was to avoid ever having to call Bruce "mom" just because he's an omega with pups. I really like the gender neutral "carrier" and even "sire" (though I wish there was a better word) since it allows for multiple genders and designations to mix and choose the term that best fits for them.

Since Martha and Thomas were both cisgender, I imagine Bruce might have called them mother and father if he wanted. But he would most definitely call them carrier/sire as a default.

One thing I have done differently which I'm still unsure about is having "carrier" not just as a biological term, but as a gender neutral parenting term in general. I.e., Bruce might not have carried Jason to term, but he is Jason's carrier? Jason doesn't call him mom or dad. But he (and if not him, then other people) refer to Bruce as Jason's carrier frequently.

I suppose it all comes down to personal preference. Since Bruce spent so long repressing his dynamic, I don't think he really relishes being called mom. But Lex clearly disagrees and occasionally uses gendered language, usually just to irk Bruce. He also calls himself "Uncle Lex" despite being omega.

It's all a very interesting hodgepodge of our gender norms, in-universe a/b/o tropes, and the a/b/o tropes I've chosen to subvert with my own interpretations.

And, of course, it all depends on how the in-universe trends are going, as we've discussed on here. Are newer generations more or less comfortable with older pack dynamics/instincts? Are they trying to move to a more nuclear family ("mom" and "dad") and away from same-designation couples? Same gender couples?

I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

fallen london extensions/addons

i only log in when there's new content these days but i wanted to make a list of extensions i found helpful for newer players. bolded names are ones i can personally vouch for/have seen a lot of people use. descriptions are mostly taken from the addon descriptions themselves because tumblr ate my original draft and i don't feel like typing everything out again. PS: Switch to Firefox.

Goat Farmer (Firefox/Chrome): Calculates and displays your total wealth each time you visit the Bazaar page in Fallen London. It includes options to exclude certain items from the calculation. (My note: mostly useful for figuring out how many Echoes you get if you liquidate everything you have in order to buy expensive items.)

Conversion Helper (Firefox): Collects each tier of convertible items in your inventory into its own category for convenience. (My note: A "tier" is a term for items that sell at the same price at the Bazaar; for example, Memories of Light and Memories of Distant Shores are "tier 3" items that both sell for 0.5 Echoes each.)

Fallen London Favourites (Firefox)/Playing Favourites (Chrome): Allows you to mark storylets and options inside storylets with green/red marks, moving them to the top or bottom of the page respectively. You can also choose to disable discard and action buttons for certain storylets and cards. (My note: Definitely recommend this one, it saves you so much scrolling.)

One-click Wiki (Firefox): Adds a small "button" near the storylet title. When clicked, this button opens a new tab with a Fallen London Wiki page corresponding to the current storylet.

Small Mercies (Firefox): Just... a lot of small UI changes. Some of them are helpful (like showing the amount of Favours for each faction you have in the sidebar), some of them are silly but mildly beneficial (like sorting the "A Mystery of the _th City" qualities in numerical order).

Quirk Master (Firefox): Telegraphs storylet choices that influence your quirks, if the game doesn't already tell you they do.

Duly Noted (Firefox): Lets you leave small notes on the branches and storylets in the "Fallen London" browser game. (My note: For clarity, the notes appear within the storylet itself.)

Masquerade (Firefox): Lets you switch between alt accounts more easily within the game UI.

Genius Loci (Firefox): Plays background music whenever you're in specific locations. You'll have to supply your own music. Intended for the Fallen London/Sunless Sea OSTs (which can be found online), but I guess you could add your own music?

Chandlery (Chrome): Displays your current number of actions/opportunity cards in the tab title so you can keep an eye on it when you're tabbed out.

I read the ACOTAR book series for the first time in 2022. I felt that Sarah was setting up Nesta + Cassian, it was interesting and obvious. 

But when I read the moments of Elain and Azriel, I thought, "wtf??? they match so perfectly, why is her mate Lucien??". Elain and Azriel had so many interesting, deep moments, as if Sarah herself was pushing us to think that something was wrong with L+E, I so wanted to see Elain and Azriel together, because it's so OBVIOUS how they fit together …

Then in BC ACOSF we see that Azriel REALLY has feelings for Elain and he HIMSELF is already asking the question "what if Cauldron was wrong?", and then in BC in HOFAS we find out that Cauldron was INDEED damaged and Azriel was right!!!

And then I go to IG, I see Sarah's post with "ACOwhat" and I see HOW MANY people want and ARE STILL waiting for G+A and hate ELAIN... Gwynriel are so loud and aggressive:(To be honest, it really upsets me, because when Elriel's book is released, Sarah will have so much negativity in Instagram…

Do you think Bloomsberry is afraid to announce the book, as there will be a lot of negativity from Gwynriel? 

How do you think - have there been more Elriel lately or Gwynriel are just too loud and aggressive on social media, so it seems like there are more of them?

There are way more Elriels now than there were a few years ago and all the newer readers understand that Gwynriel is a crack ship and nothing more and expect Elriel to be the next couple.

GAs have always been aggressive, so it's nothing new. But I think it's because they know that the ship is sailing nowhere.

As for BB--i understand that if they have nothing to promote, they won't do anything--but I wish they'd made different decisions earlier. However, they got a ton of free publicity too, for YEARS, so therefore, they tried to ride the wave for as long as possible. May it turn against them? Maybe. However, I also think that they've waited long enough for it not to cause a lot of backlash when it's an Elriel book, because there are way fewer Gwynriels out there now.

So I don't think they are too worried. Besides, most people will still buy and read the books.

lee oathofkaslana, i was wondering if you have any advice for getting into hi3, especially in regards to digging into the lore. i’ve been following along with your hi3 posts for literal months and i get more intrigued each time you discuss it so i finally decided to just go for it. i know theres the game/webtoon/animated shorts/cooking with valks but i’m not totally sure about how to go about approaching all of it and the more obscure elements (like the other games with the hi3 characters) because i don’t want to miss out on anything. is there a certain order of approach that you suggest? also, are there any resources that may help with taking it all in, like explaining the basics and the timeline or something like that? there’s no pressure to answer right away, i’m sure you might want time to compile your thoughts, i just trust your judgement on how to get into hi3 over trying to figure it out myself based on how knowledgeable you appear to be about everything.

reading lists! ok this is the most important thing so its going first. hi3's comics are a lot more important to the plot than like. genshin's. and its kinda annoying bc in some cases you'll be guided from going between chapters of the game to a comic and vice versa. i highly recommend checking out both of these reading lists: hoyostans reading guide (start from part 1 phase 1) archives wiki hi3 reading list the seconds a lot easier to follow imo! especially with the earlier ones. i personally prefer primarily using the second one and then consulting the first to see if there's any extra content that's missing (since some ggz/retconned hi3 comics are linked there and provide some context! the first one also has some very helpful notes from the OP!) i DO think that reading the comics in the order listed on the archives wiki and then starting chapter one is best. it might feel like a dip in story telling though but i promise it will get a lot btter once theyre a lot more stable w their game development and writing :)

other content: comics: ok first i have to put a warning. escape from nagazora is from ggz iirc and like. early ggz and early hi3 humor kinda sucks ass. there's awful sexualization of underaged girls and its weird about women and this is where a lot of the fetishization comes in. they're also not normal about consent here. also another warning about azure waters. it heavily references CSA and has an almost rape scene and i completely hated the way it was all visually portrayed. if needed I will gladly summarize these comics for you without any of those details. this aside, the comics are included in the reading guides! there are also non-canonical ones though! (4komas featured on the manga site and 4komas from the jp twitter! theres a google drive linked in the other post w fan translations. they're comedic and not at all canonical but they may spoil things since its run coincides with the game's progress so i dont really recommend reading them until you're farther along. atm i am just starting part 1.5 and ive read most of it, but i am intentionally avoiding newer ones just by looking at what design is in the thumbnail. they're very quick to read though dw!) animated shorts -> they are included in the game :) if you would prefer watching them in chinese, i'm afraid you'll have to look at it on youtube though :' for some reason on the western servers all the CG's in the first part are in japanese even if you switch your language to chinese. chronicles -> they're included in both the reading guides! theres some that aren't very lore relevant (dreams of gemima and kallen chronicles) but they're a fine source of weapons and crystals (hi3 equiv of primos) part 2 -> i haven't started it yet but from what i've seen, it's recommended that you finish part 1 before this. open-world -> again, follow the reading order for these :) the only exception is APHO because that takes place in the future (after part 1.5). i haven't finished it and i personally don’t plan to until after i do 1.5 in case there's any important spoilers! there are major hints that kinda spoil the end of part 1 though. <- same with the alien space comic. it takes place. sometime after APHO i think. other universe events -> primarily captainverse. obv these take place in a different universe! these characters are not the same as the main characters. iirc the only one that's really lore-relevant is honkai salvation log (it comes later in the game and later in the hoyostans reading guide!!) donghua: cooking with valks: not canonical content. season 1 is pretty safe but it is best watched after chapter 12 to get full context for some references! honestly you could probably get by with watching the rest of the series after imo but if you'd prefer to play it safe, the hoyostans guide includes it :) golden courtyard: do not watch this one until you finish chapter 31. journey crisis: do not watch this until you finish part 1.5 ggz/hg2: honestly. you don't need to know ggz for hi3. you would benefit from knowing the retrospective timeline's history for the main trio but from there on, ggz and hi3 follow completely different stories with different characters. honestly you could go by without knowing the main trio's history in retro i think its already explained enough in the main story and other media.

links. youtube: homulabs -> has cohesive lore videos that help a lot (esp later on)! also has some hsr stuff if you're interested :) hide's honkai archives -> playthroughs of all of part 1 completely in chinese (including cut scenes). also fixes up some of the translations since i believe the eng translations are translated from the jp dub! i mostly use this to both rewatch chapters when i need background noise and look at cutscenes with OP's translations. i find it interesting.. official hi3 youtube visual novels: again, look at the reading guides. im pretty sure think some of those links on both guides are wonky though so ill provide them here. ae visual novel (eng) shattered swords/7 swords visual novel (eng) durandal visual novel (eng) i also have a larger post with various links here build/combat: ok this is my weakspot. marisa honkai -> kind of unfortunate backbone of the hi3 community. allegedly kicked someone from his discord server for saying kiana is a lesbian. but his infographics are useful! he also has a youtube but i can't vet how his videos are o7 <- lore player and very obvious about it elysian realm shallow sequence -> in case you're ever struggling w this part. dont worry about it early game though you'll get to it in time. honestly its optional though so.

quick tips/loose info:

the wikis will be your best friend.

do the character trials!! they teach you how to use any of the characters and you can open them whenever you want! if the battlesuit is new, you will also get rewards if you do the trial in time :)

honkai has an absurd amount of currencies for some fucking reason. this is more of a warning than a tip.

ok imo hi3 combat is super super fun but my god the powercreep sucks asssssssss. i hate the process of building characters because you have to pull for characters signature gear and that equipment banner's pity doesnt carry over it fucking sucks.

BUT don't worry too much honestly if you are just playing for the story like i am it doesn't matter too much since you don't need to use your own valkyries for much (story wise). do at least build some though even to a minor degree (you will need them for chronicles)

speaking of gacha though! there's no 50/50 to worry about in honkai!

don't go into the chat for room 1 its fucking scary and full of weirdos (derogatory) and assholes. first and last time i went there i saw homophobes.

So, I'm gonna be at the hospital almost all day tomorrow getting tests (it's a good thing! It won't hurt and hopefully leads to more data...) which means I cannot be around my computer to help out too much with JK's songs at first, but we do have some goals:

If you don’t have a PlayStation but want the Journey pack, you can use a friend’s PS to buy it with your own account and then have it on your usual play device. This is also how I got the Switch pack. I used my cousin’s Switch.

BUT you have to be careful to do things in the correct order! It told me if I started Sky on the PS without linking my account first, then they’d never be linked and my items I bought on the PS would not show on any other device. It said the same when I bought the Switch pack.

Make a PlayStation account and set up a payment method. Using your usual play device (I use an iPad mini, but occasionally use my phone), log into Sky and go to “accounts” in settings. Link your Playstation account, make sure it finishes and says it’s linked. Then log in on your friend’s PS, buy the Journey pack first in the PS store (NOT in the game!). Then open Sky on the PlayStation and check for your stuff. If you don’t see the items in your inventory, check the in game store. It may list the Journey pack but show the price as “free”. Click that and you should be set. Once it appears for you on the PS, it’s yours on every device.

Also have a look at the little Journeyer I made for a Secret Santa we had on TGC’s forum years ago. The body is supposed to be white on this one. The friend who received it liked to imagine her Journeyer as an expert “white cloak” who masqueraded as a less experienced “red cloak” to help newer players. I want to make another but it was SUCH a pain in the 🍑! That golden thread knotted with every stitch.

hiya!!! ive been missing the 1d days a looooottttt recently and have had so many story ideas based during those days, so in honor of the boys 12 year anniversary, here's one of the sexier stories i've thought of! i hope you enjoy ;)

It was 1:48 in the morning when you got the text from Niall before replying back with, Yes why?

You were currently visiting Niall and the boys on their third consecutive tour, Where We Are. It was a couple hours after the show and the boys were out, each sleeping in their own bunk, inches away from you. You were in your bunk, Niall in his right above you.

Management was strict on the boys when it came to girlfriends visiting on tour. You were big distractions to them so they limited the amount of time you were able to visit. You were not allowed to go with them on tour, only allowed to visit a handful amount of times in the 6 months they were on the road, four days at a time max.

You and Niall had been dating for about a year and a half now and things couldn't be any better. Of course you have your ups and downs like every other couple, but you've learned how to work through those problems and exit out the other side happier than ever.

Long distance sucked. It was so hard. But you and Niall texted if not called each other every day you were apart. It didn't matter the timezone difference, you always made time for each other even if it was a couple small texts a day or a quick 5 minute phone call. You always dreaded the day he had to leave for tour. This year wasn't as hard as last year. Last year you were in a newer relationship, just entering the honeymoon stage and not wanting to leave his side ever. This year, while still hard, you have more love and trust in him, you know what to expect and know that you got through last tour, so you can get through this one too. And of course you know you're allowed to visit him a couple of times!

He didn't have to say anything more before you were quietly exiting your bunk and sneaking up into Niall's. As you pulled the curtain back slowly, you could point out the mischeivious grin on his face. You climbed in and snuggled up into his warm embrace under the covers, slowly closing the curtain, careful not to make any noise.

Turning on your side to face him, you mimicked his grin as you whispered low enough so only he could hear, "hi."

"Hi, pretty girl," he hummed as his arms wrapped around you, the pet name having butterflies erupt in your stomach, "'m so happy yer here wit' me. I missed ya so much."

"Me too. 'm gonna miss you when I have to leave again."

"I know, but let's not t'ink about dat right now," he pushed a stray piece of hair out from your face as he looked at you in the dark bunk, little to no light being shown, "Wanna kiss me?"

You nodded quickly before you leaned in and pressed your lips to his. A few pecks to his lips before a longer, more passionate one had you both craving more. The kisses started sweet and soft but soon picked up heat. His lips were soft against yours, his tongue moving magically in your mouth. The kisses were hot, but they were slow, both of you careful not to make them smack against each other in fear of being caught.

His hands gently caressed your back, short, bitten fingernails scratching your soft skin as he felt everywhere his hands would allow. Your fingers threaded through his unnaturally blonde locks, painted nails scratching at his scalp and playing with the dyed strands of hair.

"I love ya," he breathed out quietly.

"I love you too."

His lips were back on yours, tongue slightly grazing past your lips, his hands traveling lower and planted on your bum. He squeezed what he could grope in his hands and you wanted to moan, but kept it in. You could feel the twist in your core and your panties start to dampen at his actions.

"Lay on your back," he hummed and as he urged you to turn your body.

"We shouldn't," you whispered as you obeyed and turned your body so you were laying on your back, him still on his side next to you.

After a few more kisses to his sweet lips, his lips trailed down to your jaw and neck. His calloused fingers slipped past the band of your nike shorts and your cotton panties, landing slightly to the left of your throbbing bundle of nerves. His fingers moved side to side and it felt good but he wasn't directly on your clit like you needed him to be. You reached down and grabbed on his fingers, adjusting them slightly. "I wanted to scream so bad," you breathed out.

He smiled a sweet smile at you before attaching your lips together. You pulled back and closed your eyes, regaining your breath and your body. His head laid on your shoulder, hand running up and down your arm soothingly.

Once you were ready, you turned onto your side and lifted up his head to look at you. You kissed him again and reached your hand down, cupping him over his boxer briefs.

"Mm-mm," he shook his head no.

"No?" you asked confused.

"Tired, babe. Had a show tonight."

"Are you sure?" you asked, feeling selfish that he helped you out but you didn't help him.

"Mhm, got a off day tomorrow so we're checkin' into a hotel for the next two days and you've got me all to yourself then."

"Okay," you hummed, feeling the tiredness hit you as well.

You laid there in each other's arms for a bit, enjoying the euphoria and safeness it brought to you. His steady breathing in your ear, strong arms wrapped around you, and the warmth radiating off him relaxed you.

"I should go soon," you sighed, not wanting to leave his arms.

"Can we cuddle just a bit more?"

"Only 5 minutes. I can't fall asleep with you."

He didn't say anything. You turned onto your other side so he could spoon you. Getting comfortable, he pulled you into his bare chest, his arm snaking around your waist and you intertwining your fingers on top of his. He gave you a short squeeze as a silent way to say he loved you, enjoying the snuggles he's getting before you have to retreat back to your bunk. You did the same, sighing contently. Your eyelids felt heavy but you knew you had to stay up for a little longer. You decided to rest your eyes, promising yourself that you wouldn't fall asleep.
