During his teen years he had a lot of internalised homophobia due to Sid and Kreese. They influenced him a lot when he was younger.

He dated Ali because his friends were there at the time they started dating and he felt pressured. Ali found out pretty quickly and agreed to stay with him for a bit because she knew it was something he was struggling with.

He didn’t want to accept it at first and it lead to him trying to act too macho which lead to him acting like a dick and Ali eventually broke up with him. She didn’t say anything about him being gay but was still upset about the way he treated her because she thought he was her friend.

Bobby definitely knew about his sexuality but didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to scare him.

The big struggle started the day he met Daniel LaRusso.

He took one look into those brown doe eyes and was instantly gone for him. This angered him and he went into denial because he was also scared of Kreese finding out and hurting him. His anger and fear lead to him acting the way he did. His major feelings for Daniel confused him and he tried to convince himself he was jealous because Daniel started dating his ex-girlfriend.

He became a little obsessed with Daniel.

To be fair all of Cobra Kai we’re obsessed with Daniel.

He felt so angry at Halloween but also really guilty and pissed off at himself too when he later went home.

He still wasn’t able to admit it until he got much older and by then he had already had a relationship with Shannon and they’d had Robby.

He’s always felt something for Daniel and seeing him again ignited it.

Miguel often explains modern lgbt terms to him and can probably tell that Johnny has it bad for Daniel but doesn’t want to push it.

I think becoming a mentor to so many kids in the lgbt community and becoming proper friends with Daniel helped him come to terms with his sexuality. It was a journey but once he realised that Kreese was toxic and he needed to drop him he was able to heal and eventually his internalised homophobia started to fade. He was able to become more comfortable with himself.

Johnny still doesn’t know anything about queer people despite being one himself but he’s trying.

He’s shocked when he finds out that Daniel is bisexual and even more shocked when Daniel reveals that even back in high school when they hated each other he found Johnny attractive.

Once they start getting cool with each other they definitely start dating (Amanda and Daniel divorced but are still besties). Both of them still have a rivalry but it has more blatant flirting and sometimes their bickering ends in them making out.

They literally talk about each other all the time.

Johnny finally comes out about being gay and his relationship with Daniel after spending the day with Ali.

He considers Sam and Anthony his kids too after a while (he still finds Anthony annoying but finds the kid is growing on him).

To celebrate him coming out the kids get him a pride flag headband (I don’t know what it’s called lmao the thing Daniel wears) and he acts like it’s stupid but they can tell he’s a little touched. He doesn’t wear it but he keeps it in a special place.

He went to his first pride parade with some of the kids and Daniel to see what it’s like.

He gets a little giddy when he gets to refer to Daniel as his boyfriend. He once got drunk and started telling everyone that he has “the hottest boyfriend ever” and claiming that his boyfriend is better than anyone else’s. Daniel was mortified and kept apologising to everyone as he followed him but was really pleased at the same time.

They’re both referred to as the Karate Boyfriends by the kids.

A Loaded Gun - Terry begins to struggle after John Kreese turns up on your doorstep.

Letting Go - It takes you leaving for Terry to realise he needs to make a change.

It’s Daniel that realises you’re pregnant. He’s just started teaching you a new set of katas in the zen garden when Johnny opens up one of those awful breakfast burritos he was so fond of. The smell is an complete assault on your senses, it hits the back of your throat and before you know it you’re hurling your guts out into the bushes that line the decking.

“Amanda was the same way,” Daniel says sympathetically as he holds back your hair.” Especially when she was pregnant with Anthony, boys they’re harder on the body.”

“No I can’t be…”

But then you remember you were in Osaka a few of months ago, you’d forgotten to take a couple of pills with the whole time zone adjustment. It wasn’t a big deal, you’d told Terry at the time, you both knew it was unlikely you’d get pregnant with your pre-existing fertility issues.

It turns out you were wrong.

When Johnny comes back from the store, it’s with seven pregnancy tests, each one a different brand. He thrusts the receipt into Daniel’s hand and the other man sighs as he hands over the cash.

Daniel makes tea while you wait for the results, something with ginger in it to sooth your stomach, while Johnny paces the length of the dojo.

It’s not his baby, it’s not his problem, he tells himself but it is, it’s a big one. The reason you’re here is so that they can teach you to protect yourself from Kreese. They can’t do that now if you’re carrying a child, at least Johnny can’t, his brand of karate is contact based.

“Kreese isn’t going to stop even if she is pregnant is he?” Daniel asks as he pours the tea and Johnny shakes his head.

“No.” He says quietly. “It’s just another way of hurting Silver, something else to take away.”

The bathroom door opens then, you step outside looking stricken.

“Positive?” Daniel questions as he sets the tea down on the table and gestures for you to take a seat.

You nod your head in response to his question, slipping into the offered chair.

“Is that good news for you?” Johnny asks before jerking his thumb towards the road. “Because I know this place…”

“I’m sure she’s fine.” Daniel says, holding up his hand to silence Johnny before he sits down in the chair across from you.

You wrap your hands around your cup and smile then because they’re each trying to look after you in their own way.

“We tried for a year when we were first married.” You find yourself telling them as you sip your tea, your stomach is beginning to settle. “We were told it was unlikely we’d be able to conceive so we let go of that dream, focused on each other instead.”

“Which is exactly how this happened.” Johnny says gesturing at your abdomen.

“Yea.” You say, your palm coming to rest on the space where your baby resides. “Yea, it is.”

You intend to tell Terry about the baby as soon as he steps through the door but your husband, he has other ideas. He doesn’t even remove his jacket when he steps over the threshold instead he sweeps you up into his arms and kisses you so thoroughly you lose all sense of reason.

“I have been thinking about you all day.” He whispers into the hollow of your throat as he undresses you. “How much I want to taste you.”

His mouth chases all over your skin and it feels like molten heat, searing through your synapses as he guides you towards the bedroom and then onto the mattress. His coat falls to the floor, along with his shirt. His palms come to rest on your thighs guiding them back towards your chest.

It’s a power position, one that Terry knows you enjoy because you can take him deeper. You can’t do anything when he has you like this, you can only take the pleasure he bestows upon you.

He licks a trail from your core to your clit before his tongue swipes back down again, thrusting inside. You cry out as he enters you, his palms holding you open, his thumb tracing firm circles on that deviant little nub of yours. The ecstasy, it raises up in you suddenly, it’s barely been two minutes and already you’re hurtling towards climax.

I don't have a particular reason other than vibes but I don't exactly think that's a bad indicator

Robby Keene - Earth bender

His physical build and ability to stand his ground makes it fairly easy to coin him as an earth bender

Sam Larusso - Non-bender(hear me out)

I can't see her as any specific type of bender I was torn mostly between air and earth, I see Amanda as an earth bender and Daniel as an airbender but I just don't see Sam as a bender

(She's definitely a chi blocker though)

Tory Nichols - Fire bender

Same reason as Miguel: Vibes

Eli Moskowists/Hawk - Earth Bender

Simply put, his personality and fighting style(mostly his fighting style) are easy ways to label him as an earth bender. Bro's got those earth bender vibes.

He's intelligent and quick-witted and he has many qualities that could make him believable as a fire bender. Simply put, I'm going with the vibes again.

What do I hope for?

As much Terry Silver screen time as possible.

Also as much Silverusso screen time as possible....

More Lawrusso moments but nothing half hearted and rushed.

The long awaited apology or heartfelt moment from Johnny to Daniel about what he did in KK.

Kreese being unhinged. Can never get enough.

Tory and Sam friendship moments.

Less of Miguel being mopey. Ugh teenagers.

More Johnny and Miguel bonding moments. And not with Robby as an awkward third wheel. Though that could be funny.

may i ask why you write "x/9" in your cobra kai characters as taylor albums posts? since our beloved taylor currently has 10 albums (minus the rerecordings or counting fearless and red tv only), i was wondering which one you won't do? 🤔

I planned the series before Midnights came out, and when it did I knew I would't be able to add it, since I'd simply run out pf characters (except Amanda, who I can't really get to fit Midnights, and Kreese and Terry, who I don't want to include at all). If I ever do Midnights it will just be a Johnny part 2. He's the obvious pick for that album for me, with Dear Reader, Anti Hero, Would've Could've Should've and Vigilante Shit. They're the standouts, but I think other songs on that album fit him, too, if you take it from a shipping angle. I have done individual gifsets for Dear Reader and Vigilante Shit already, and am planning to do ones with the others. Fear not, there will be plenty of Midnights + Cobra Kai content coming from me.

cobra kai s5 rant

- thoroughly enjoyed this season, i thought it was funny, not as cringey as previous seasons and the fight scenes were so so good. however, there were a few things that really annoyed me or made me question why i have a netflix account. here they are:

pregnancy storyline - when i tell you this plot annoyed the fuck outta me, i mean it. as soon as carmen said ‘i’m late johnny’ i was like oh for fuck sake and i had to pause the tv and resist the urge to smack my head off a wall. it’s such an unnecessary storyline and it aggravated me every time it was mentioned throughout the rest of the season. like, come on writers, could you be any more predictable? and don’t get me wrong, i think babies are cute n stuff, but throwing a baby into a book or a show just ruins it for me. also, johnny runs from all of his problems so who’s to say he won’t do the same when things get challenging with his new baby?

robby - i love love love robby, but the way he gets treated is not it. whilst johnny is funny i’ve come to the realisation that he is a really shitty person. he only acknowledges his own feelings and doesn’t care about anyone else’s - especially robby’s. and robby’s reaction to the pregnancy threw me off guard. he was happy??? he deserves to be angry about it, hell i would be. his dad literally neglected him his whole life and is now having a baby with miguel’s mum? i’d be more than pissed. robby needs a hug and i volunteer to give him one, he deserves the world <3

carmen and johnny - carmen really pissed me off this season idk why, she just did. like babe, how are you gonna have a child with a man who still acts like one😭😭😭 and johnny annoyed me too, he literally prioritised everything over robby. and then when he forced robby and miguel to fight out their issues as if those issues didn’t literally stem from him being a better father figure to miguel than he was an actual father to robby (i am glad they’re all good now tho).

silver - even just his face annoys me, had to hold myself back from punching the tv every time he had a scene. he’s a good villain though.

kenny and kyler - oh my god. i physically recoil anytime kyler has a scene, he’s so cringe it’s actually painful to watch. kenny also annoyed me as well, like bro i think you’ve messed with anthony enough, leave him alone now. and then when he tried intimidating robby and miguel, like honey know your place x

sam - now sam annoys me every season, i reallyyy want to like her but i just can’t. this season however, she did annoy me significantly less than usual. although she did make miguel’s circumstances in mexico about her which was very irritating and then had the audacity to get mad at miguel when he kissed another girl after she’d broken up with him???

okay, rant over. i’m sure there’s more that annoyed me but i can’t remember at the moment. so apart from the pregnancy storyline that it is so stupid, pointless, basic, predictable, annoying, ew and the characters mentioned above (except robby i love him, just the way he was treated annoyed me), the season was really good.

to clarify, i am not hating on the actors at all, i think they all do a brilliant job, this is just my opinion on the characters and storylines which are both entirely fictional :)

I saw your headcanons on how you think chozen would interact with beloved and I was wondering if you have any headcanons on how the rest of the cobra Kai characters would be with beloved. Thank you love your posts

(Here's some random ones I currently had thoughts about):

― Amanda Larusso: As I said before somewhere on here, I think Amanda would view Terry's and beloved's relationship as an abusive one, even though it ain't necessarily. But, one has to understand, everything points towards it with some really strong arguments in place, reasonably enough, to an outsider looking in --- such overwhelming intensity is hard to understand to someone lacking context. Surely, anyone who's with Terry Silver is with Terry Silver under duress and because the power imbalance is too big for them to leave. Maybe they were here for advantage at first and now they cannot escape anymore? Maybe. At least Amanda thinks so, especially if beloved's a woman, and a younger woman no less, the age difference on full display; her instinctive solidarity, sense of empathy, pity and mothering urge kicks in and she sets her personal bias aside for a moment (which she does have plenty of, admittedly), wanting to covertly help or offer some advice and maybe go about it the wrong way at first. Sure, she might snark a bit here and there, but if she can secretly slip beloved her number to call her 'just in case' she will. A Karate war is less important than someone's well-being. Of course Terry would discover, because he discovers everything. He's oddly flattered and pretty damn amused.

― Tory Nichols: Tory's been surrounded with people 'who have it all' all her life, comes with the territory of merely living in LA, but Terry's beloved, in the off chance she ever even sees them comes with an a mystique unlike no other. This person is beyond even the mean well off girls at a pool party or at prom. Beyond the wealth princess that is Samantha Larusso. This person is like a movie star. Like some sort of fairytale mythical being one can only vaguely guess about. Sensei Silver already comes with an innate old money aura of his own, so whoever he's with automatically has a certain something about them --- a certain something Tory can't help but silently loathe and admire. Feel begrudgingly in awe of. She isn't exactly sure how to approach and view this person, so she doesn't. Tory takes note of beloved from a distance, because that's what Sensei Silver allows in the first place, undoubtedly separating his private life and what happens in the training hall. Tory muses, briefly, indulging herself in the mirror with a pair of earrings that look a bit like something she briefly spotted worn in the hallway of the dojo, in a flash, through the blur of the moment, only to scoff and set them aside. It's a fucking daydream.

― Johnny Lawrence: Rude, blunt and disrespectful, undoubtedly, in a 'What's someone like you doing with an old coot like this!' kind of way, with no filter in place --- and Johnny doesn't even have to know Terry too well to utter something like this zinger on a whim, especially when irked, his childishness kicking in. I mean, c'mon, we all know he would. Johnny thinks it and Johnny says it. Things might get worse depending of beloved's gender, fluctuating between the understanding that a female beloved might just be some sort of escort or someone here for all this cash (imagine the added bonus of them being foreign) and that a male beloved could just be (insert several problematic comments here). Yikes. Thing is, depending of how beautiful or physically attractive beloved is perceived in his eyes at the moment, some jealousy might be in place, because, yeah, a babe like that...he saw a babe like that on the arms of a Bond Villain on a cassette tape when he was a kid back in the 80's, which is really fitting right about now, considering Terry could pass for a Bond villain, to be honest, not that he admits to it, it is a matter of pride, covering up the fact with several layers of sarcasm and words for sure deemed 'fighting words'.

― Daniel Larusso: I think...Daniel would be surprised Terry has someone who loves him. He wouldn't be surprised with dalliances and temporary adventures (he expects Terry to have unstable, volatile relationships that aren't serious and are very surface level, in fact, almost as Karmic punishment), but he is surprised by anything deemed a traditional family structure. Anything deemed as a genuine, deep connection with another person. Terry was supposed to be forgotten. Buried. Especially after the tournament loss of '85 and everything that preceded it. A familial bond and a bond of love almost feels like someone only in the moral right has and the discovery Terry has, eerily, the same wholesome family structure he himself has with Amanda is creepy and unusual. Doesn't feel right. Is this a paid family Terry hired to follow him around? Does beloved know the type of man Terry is in the first place? He wouldn't put anything past Terry. No, no, he shouldn't feel angry that someone who hurt him so badly has a normal and even good life with someone who cares for him, that's not what Mr. Miyagi would teach him to feel --- but then again, he does feel resentment. He does feel it is unjust Terry got a happy ending too. Where's his comeuppance?

― Robby Keene: Listen, Robby's here to survive, first and foremost: Whether he's in Miyagi Do, Cobra Kai, whatever, and he isn't here to form opinions about the Sensei's private companion (or at least, he holds back from doing so if he can help it), discouraging all the other students from doing anything but keeping their thoughts to themselves, as it should be --- especially with students he might have affection and a sense of friendship for, like Tory or Kenny. I think he would understand Terry Silver's an inherently very, very, very dangerous person beneath his amicable facade and that it is best not to make this guy angry --- not too angry, anyway. I think he's been surrounded by enough abusers throughout life to inherently recognize one, but he's also a teen in a bad, unstable situation, using whatever is given to him and whatever resources he can muster to make do and help himself, considering none of the adults would, so he intentionally ignores politely beloved and merely makes note of them silently in his mind, compartmentalizing them for later. Robby's smart and careful in that regard. I think Terry would, once again, understand why this is done because he absolutely reads Robby. He'd able to tell Robby's a tiny bit afraid.

― John Kreese: What John wants on the subject of Terry's love life is...no bullshit. He can sniff out fake relationships, fronting, advantage, posing, feigning, surface level nonsense and he has a sense of aversion towards it, naturally, having an immensely high standard for what he deems as loyalty and devotion, and we have Vietnam to blame for that, partially, raising John's understanding of what a connection is to extreme circumstances forged in war --- and forged in a different, almost romantic era represented through the puppy love he had with Betsy. He wants Terry to be understood and happy and have the ability to walk as himself, not wearing what John deems a mask, not watering or dumbing himself down for society, losing his edge and his fierceness (and allegiance to Cobra Kai), meaning that John can be ironically supportive even when he and Terry fall out, forming this innately and bafflingly complicated relationship where he wants Terry truly happy (by his definition) and also supported and embraced at his darkest. There's no half measures in love. You either are yourself or you ain't. If Terry cannot show himself whole to beloved, John will absolute throw a stink eye on this relationship. If Terry can be Terry (and as such, on John's side...or at least...on the side of everything John and Terry stood for), hey, John's in favour and there's a sense of acknowledgement beloved's good.

(A very important addendum:)

― Mr. Miyagi: Not necessarily a Cobra Kai character because he's no longer alive at the time the show takes place, unfortunately, but circa the 80's, I think he'd have an odd, silently dignified contentment to know Terry Silver is genuinely loved, in spite of Terry's own antagonism, vengefulness, prejudice and even violence towards himself and Daniel. It is ironic, considering Terry's goons busted up Mr. Miyagi's shop, ruined his business, abused his student, nearly caused a wedge between him and Daniel, but I still think he'd feel Terry deserves love more than anyone else, regardless of everything --- maybe precisely because he's a bad man and he needs it the most. Maybe this is a way for the universe to balance itself out in an oddly fitting way? The darkest of men receives the softest of care from someone. Perhaps, one day, somewhere, somehow, this love will ennoble Terry Silver, because nobody should be written off and love and peace are the highest ideals one can strive for and he should know, having lost so many loved ones of his own. If Mr. Miyagi would ever internally forgive Terry post tournament of '85, it is at the sight, from the distance, of seeing Terry with beloved and he'd know hope isn't entirely lost for Terry Silver. Mr. Miyagi undoubtedly never says anything to Daniel about this (feeling he might not understand), but it is a sentiment he'd keep to himself. It gives Mr. Miyagi an unspoken closure.

The Good:

I'll admit I was really not crazy about the idea of introducing new characters this late in the game, BUT I love Kenny with all my heart. I already know he's gonna get mixed up with the bad crowd and I feel for the dude already.

HAHAHAHAHA Johnny just sanding the entire sparring stage with a machine to save time, the man may be insane but he gets shit done

Given that Tory literally broke into her home and tried to kill her daughter twice, I actually think Amanda had every right to warn Tory to fuck off. Good for her honestly! And like yes, cornering her at her job was kind of scummy, but must Amanda LaRusso be perfect??? She's allowed to be a bit shitty from time to time. As a treat.

Also loved how her perspective completely changed when she found out Tory was struggling a lot at home. It's interesting to see her conflicted--kinda realizing Tory acts the way she does because she can't get the help she needs, but also wanting to protect her daughter obviously.

Kreese actually standing up for Tory seemingly out of some genuine care was extremely unexpected, but intriguing. Like obs he's still a piece of shit, but it gives him a bit more nuance that he can call out privilege so succinctly.

My god MY GOD were those training montages gay!!! Johnny trying to calm down long enough to do Miyagi-Do was so funny I stg

Between Johnny attempting the crane kick, Lawrusso training each other in their respective techniques, the honeycrisp apple hints finally making sense, and the Ponytail of Revenge™️, the new teaser has ended me and I will be operational again when the trailer releases.

Main takes:

- I love that they are 2.2 seconds into the first lesson and Johnny let’s loose his classic remark. At this point, Daniel shouldn’t be shocked but his face cracked me up 😂

- Looks like poor Demetri is in for hell. Time for another Yelp review.

- Who is Robby dipping?????? 👀 it’s not Tory coz she’s wearing a different dress

- CARMEN AND FRICKEN JOHNNY GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE I’M SO HAPPY! Are they in her flat???

- So I know they filmed at the ice rink and in the teaser Johnny is watching someone do gymnastics. Is he going around watching different sports so he can build those techniques into the Eagle Fang karate, maybe to surprise Kreese who would otherwise know all his moves?

- Amanda continues to be an absolute legend.
