Finally following one of your writing prompts!! And taking the opportunity to show off the character in my blog's banner in a post: Jake Moira

Long rambling bulleted list beyond the cut;

Faults: Jake Moira is an incredibly fragile man. He breaks easily under the pressure of other's expectations of him, despite the fact that he can perform fairly well when given a task. He is quiet, apathetic, and can sometimes come across as giving the cold shoulder without meaning to. However, his reclused behaviour hides just how scattered and anxious he truly is.

Weaknesses: Jake finds it difficult to interact with loud personalities, both abrasive and friendly. If scolded or yelled at, Jake will enter a defensive and dissociative state, causing him to go silent. Jake is also unsure of how to accept kindness, and often struggles to reciprocate. Most of his weaknesses revolve around his mental and emotional stability.

Hero?: Jake would be considered the unfortunate traumatized protagonist, but likely not a hero. While he checks the physical boxes for an ideal fantasy hero, he would need a hero or two of his own to save him emotionally before he goes saving anyone else.

Sympathetic: Jake, despite his trauma, is a gentle giant. He's soft and loving when given the chance to be so on his own accord. He naturally leans towards being benevolent, only doing perceivably evil acts when absolutely necessary (in his mind). Additionally, a lot of people can relate to worrying about and struggling to meet other's expectations.

Mistakes: Jake does make active mistakes. Some small mistakes in his adulthood include incorrectly forging certain weaponry, accidentally saying things he doesn't mean, and fumbling with/dropping possessions when he's nervous. Any plot related mistakes are related to these clumsy traits.

Priorities: Jake cares about others and their comfort first and foremost, but he also cares about keeping his head above water financially. If he can manage to achieve both, then he's satisfied. Additionally, Jake cares for small animals such as birds and rodents.

Motivations: Jake's bigger motivations are unclear to him personally. Often he finds himself droning through the day for the littlest things, such as seeing profits hit his wallet or going to the market to feed his tomorrow-self. However, his subconscious (and dominating) motivation is to live in spite of his past, even if he refuses to acknowledge that.

Character arc: Jake's character arc is, when boiled down, somewhat of a rags to riches story. The exception to that cliché is that Jake isn't ultimately going to become filthy rich when his story finally ends. He's (hopefully) going to become happy. (No promises, I'm a sucker for unhappy endings)

World's affects: Jake grew up in a dysfunctional home created by a lacking economy and unstable union between his parents. Both parents became ill due to a disease unique to my world, his father passing much sooner than his mother. In a desperate attempt to help his mom, Jake began to work for a local crimelord in his teens, but he was quickly removed after a series of incidents. Jake was only able to begin living comfortably when his mom eventually passed and he grew old enough to start his own business (weaponsmithing). Most people in this setting would have somewhat similar stories (financial struggle, unpleasant parenting, etc), although Jake's case would be considered severe.

Symbology: Jake is often seen by his abusers as some sort of scapegoat, or being capable of solving their problems for them. However, when he fails to act in accordance with their desires, they blame him for everything. In a way, Jake symbolizes the effects of the self-catering naivety of humanity, in which selfish people blame other factors for their failures instead of themselves. He and his plot were never written with this in mind, but instead naturally showed these patterns over time.

Vulnerability: Jake shows vulnerability when he feels empathy for others. As an example, a friend of his may come to him crying about having an argument with their parents. He's more than willing to comfort them and will promise to protect them, because he knows what it's like to be in a potentially dangerous situation with one's parents. In relatable situations, Jake will become the stability that he never had as a child.

Brand New Introject Term Let's Go

Source Twin

This term is meant to be used as an alternative to "double". This term is both inspired by identical twins as well as the concept of "twinning" with someone (which in this context means that there's some aspect of two people that match in some way shape or form). Rather than feeding into the idea that introjects are "copies" of each other, this term refers to introjects as their own unique person while still acknowledging similarities between introjects that are sourced from the same character.

the sudden urge to write very self-indulgent sdr2 fanfiction featuring hajime and izuru as a 2-alter system because omfg do we relate to hajime way too much to be considered healthy

I genuinely kind of miss old Minecraft graphics. And like, not in the old textures kind of way.

I miss the lighting from early Java, how dark it would get at night and how blocky the light sources would look. I miss seeing that imperfect gradient across flat grass terraformations. I miss the borderline pastel desaturated colours from the console editions and their old menu systems. I miss the pulled in FOV from Pocket Edition, how it felt like you only ever had six blocks max on your screen at any time because of how pulled in it was.

Something about classic Minecraft and its perceived imperfections makes me wanna get on and play it for myself again.

I only have Bedrock mobile.

Humans are so cute. Something I don't see talked about Ever is the fact that when we genuinely or involuntarily smile, our ears perk up. They literally move up and forward because of our muscles. To fake that would take a lot of facial muscle control, and you can feel where those muscles pull if you try to suppress your smile.

It's so adorable. I love humans.

Told my friend that I had a headache and no access to pain medication. He suggested I take a warm shower, and I did.

Not only do I feel better physically, I also feel so much better mentally and energetically. I feel the best I've felt in a while, like a weight's been lifted off my mind. I can breathe deeply and feel good about it.

If you're feeling depressed, please try taking a shower or a bath. Maybe try playing some music too. It might not fix your problems, but it's a good chance to reset from any monotonous cycles, practice some self care, and come back with a refreshed perspective.

Guess who's birthday it is today! Another year older... Crazy shit.

Literally could not ask for more. I don't care about physical presents, I'm just happy I get to spend time with people I care about... while also enjoying my physical privacy. I think this is just proof that I'm an introvert.
